Description:

Bab’Aziz – The Prince Who Contemplated His Soul is the story of a blind dervish named Bab’Aziz and his spirited granddaughter, Ishtar. Together they wander the desert in search of a great reunion of dervishes that takes place just once every thirty years. With faith as their only guide, the two journey for days through the expansive, barren landscape. To keep Ishtar entertained, Bab’Aziz relays the ancient tale of a prince who relinquished his realm in order to remain next to a small pool in the desert, staring into its depths while contemplating his soul. As the tale of the prince unfolds, the two encounter other travelers with stories of their own–including Osman, who longs for the beautiful woman he met at the bottom of a well, and Zaid, who searches for the ravishing young woman who fled from him after being seduced by his songs. A fairytale-like story of longing and belonging, filmed in the enchanting and ever-shifting sandscapes of Tunisia and Iran.

for the 5 th installment of this series for 16 days of activism…..

we’re using werd on the ground to re-examine the necessity of safe spaces,

and the particular responsibility that allies bear in creating and maintaining positive space….

like the kptj listserv for example, one of those where I maintain a dubious silence.

I’ve only ever posted one piece on that listserv, and the backlash I got was silent and pervasive,

but at least there were a few that voiced their support for the issues we were advocating for….then,

still many more remained silent, and, reiterated their solidarity in our ‘private’ conversations,

it is always ‘u people’ or them that’s the problem……

that was then…

now, with recent events, more are voicing the shift in the boundaries to be drawn,

it’s the ripple effect in the story of that butterfly that flapped it’s wings, and like a bill that was drawn by bahati,

it seems the winds are changing,

even though this statement is from one of our strongest allies in Kenya, and thankfully, to be expected, it’s posting needs to be examined in the context within which our rights are being re-shaped….there has been much more public debate on sexuality, and unfortunately, on the ground, it’s still being led by homophobes & well-meaning ignorant folk…..so everytime our rights are re-asserted in a simple & direct way, it’s something to acknolwedge and respect.

Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) Position on Rights related to Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation

The KHRC is concerned by ongoing expressions of prejudice about and stereotyping of Kenyans due to their gender identity or sexual orientation. Prejudice and stereotyping, when not consciously addressed, feed the discrimination, harassment and violence experienced by Kenyans because of their gender identity or sexual orientation.

Some sections of Kenyan media, particularly uninformed radio presenters, have led this frenzy of disinformation and hate speech. Being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual or intersex is not ‘un-African’—Africa’s history is replete with examples of how those of different gender identities and sexual orientations were named and addressed by various communities. Even if it were not, the fact that some Kenyans now identify as being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual or intersex openly makes being so African.

Being lesbian, gay or bisexual is simply the sexual orientation of some Kenyans—nothing more than where some Kenyans happen to be on the continuum of human sexuality. Being transsexual or intersex is simply the gender orientation of some Kenyans—nothing more than the fact that some Kenyans find themselves at odds with the biological binary of being ‘male’ or ‘female’. Kenyans who happen to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual or intersex continue to be, as all Kenyans are, subjects of legal protections provided by our Constitution and African and international human rights standards we are signatory too.

All Kenyans are entitled to equality under the law—and to be free from discrimination in education, in employment, in health care provision, in housing and so on. All Kenyans are entitled to security of the person—and to be free from violence. All Kenyans are entitled to privacy—and to be free from arbitrary and illegal intrusions on this privacy. Regardless of what prejudices and stereotypes persist about Kenyans who happen to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual or intersex, these entitlements stand.

Yet some sections of the media—supported by some conservative religious organisations—continue to bombard the Kenyan public with messages implying that those entitlements exist only for some Kenyans. In declaring themselves defenders of “authentic” (though often invented) African cultural traditions, they pit “culture/African family values/morality” against human rights and attempt to subject sexuality to restrictive state control.

The KHRC strongly opposes efforts to reduce this debate to one of “culture, family values or morality.” It is a debate about human rights—freedom of expression, equality, security of the person and privacy in particular. The KHRC strongly opposes discrimination against, harassment of, violence against or prosecution and punishment of all Kenyans, including on the grounds of gender identity and sexual orientation.

Kenya is at a critical moment in our construction of a democracy inclusive of diversity and based on respect for human rights. We urge all involved in drafting the new Constitution to take all the necessary measures to ensure all Kenyans full citizenship and protection from non-discrimination—by including gender identity and sexual orientation as protected grounds in the equality rights section. We urge all public service providers, the police and the judiciary to act with respect for the Constitution to protect gender and sexual minorities from discrimination, harassment and violence.

The KHRC firmly believes that dialogue is key to understanding gender identity and sexual orientation. We urge the Kenyan media to enable such dialogue while desisting from prejudicial and stereotypical hate speech. The dialogue is not about creating new human rights, but about acknowledging that all Kenyans have the same human rights, regardless of their gender identity and sexual orientation.

Makau Mutua
Chair

Board of Directors
Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC)

The KHRC works towards the observance, protection and support of all human rights for all people irrespective of sexual orientation, ethnicity, social origin, economic status, gender, political belief or because of their religious or other conscientiously held beliefs.

and while we’re on the tip of acknowledging, how’s this for direct response from allies?

this piece is also taken from the kptj listserv

Dear Beatrice

The issue is not whether we agree or not. The list has always been open to the expression of diverse opinions.

But expressing diverse opinions is one thing. The expression of abuse, violent language, and other forms of attacks on people of other persuasions is not acceptable on this list. The right of Omtatah and others to express their views has to be assessed in relation to their call for the repression of those of different sexual preferences to organise and live without fear of aggression or calls for the suppression of their views.

I have no hesitation therefore in banning such antisocial behaviour from this list.

werd on (activism on) the ground!

WHEN: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH, 12:30 PM
WHERE: UGANDA HOUSE 336, EAST 45TH STREET (BTN. 1ST @ 2ND AVES)

This demonstration is being organized in response to the global call for action from November 9th to December 10th, Human Rights Day, by SMUG (Sexual Minorities Uganda), a network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people’s organizations based in Uganda.

Join with African Services Committee, IGLHRC (International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission), Human Rights Watch, Health GAP and many other local HIV/AIDS and social justice organizations in the area on Thursday, November 19th at 12:30pm outside the Ugandan Consulate in New York to protest this assault on the basic human rights for the Ugandan LGBT community as proposed in Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill.

Similar actions are happening around the world including in Copenhagan, Ottowa, Pretoria and on the same day in Washington D.C.

For more information on the issue see IGLHRC’s action alert below.

The Issue:
The Ugandan Parliament is now considering a homophobic law that would reaffirm penalties for homosexuality and criminalize the “promotion of homosexuality.” The Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009 targets lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Ugandans, their defenders and anyone else who fails to report them to the authorities whether they are inside or outside of Uganda. The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) and Sexual Minorities of Uganda (SMUG) are calling for the swift dismissal of the bill and human rights protections for all Ugandans, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Background:
Uganda’s Penal Code Article 145a already criminalizes “carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature” – a charge used to prosecute, persecute and blackmail LGBT people with the threat of life imprisonment. The new bill would specifically penalize homosexuality, using life imprisonment to punish anything from sexual stimulation to simply “touch[ing] another person with the intention of committing the act of homosexuality.” It also punishes “aggravated homosexuality” – including activity by “serial offenders” or those who are HIV positive – with the death penalty.

The bill criminalizes “promotion of homosexuality” in the form of funding and sponsoring LGBT organizations and broadcasting, publishing, or marketing materials on homosexuality and punishes these acts with a steep fine, 5-7 years of imprisonment, or both. Any person in authority who fails to report known violations of the law within 24 hours will also be subject to a significant fine and up to 3 years in prison – even when this means turning in their colleagues, family, or friends. More shocking, the bill claims jurisdiction over Ugandans who violate its provisions while outside of the country.

The bill effectively bans any kind of community or political organizing around non-heteronormative sexuality. It will lend itself to misapplication and abuse, and implicitly encourages persecution of LGBT people by private actors. HIV prevention activities in Uganda, which rely on an ability to talk frankly about sexuality and provide condoms and other safer-sex materials, will be seriously compromised. Women, sex workers, people living with AIDS, and other marginalized groups may also find their activities tracked and criminalized through this bill.

The Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009 not only violates multiple protections guaranteed by the Constitution of Uganda, which ensures independence for human rights non-governmental organizations, but contravenes the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and other international human rights treaties to which Uganda is a party. This bill undermines Uganda’s commitment to the international human rights regime and threatens the basic human rights of all its citizens.

Have you ever perused the feature films available for viewing on Hulu? I understand the economics that precludes quality product from showing up as freebies. But the available films look like someone was given the specific assignment of finding the worst films possible.

In fact, it is such a perfectly putrid list of films that only an expert with exquisite taste could compile it. You would have to be so knowledgeable that you could authoritatively and instantly reject any film with even a few seconds of redeeming quality.

I only mention this because I saw a rumor in the trades that ad-supported Hulu was contemplating a pay-wall. I can hear all of you pulling out your credit cards.

But I say let a thousand flowers bloom. If you succeed, guys, I’m buying the rights to Ishtar and Waterworld for national theatrical release.

I know, I know. How can something like a zombie be period? Actually, the whole zombie thing is old

I know, I know. How can something like a zombie be period? Actually, the whole zombie thing is older than literature itself but check this out…

In Medieval times, this was referred to as Revenant, a visible ghost or animated corpse that terrorized the living. I guess it all started in the High Middle Ages (11th-13th centuries). It’s a Western European thing, but I guess was huge in Great Britain and was later carried over to Ireland by the Anglo-Norman invaders.

Kick ass.

It is said that Ishtar, the Goddess of fertility, love, war and sex (interestingly enough, she was courtesan to the Gods) says (and so does her sister Ereshkigal who was the goddess of the underworld):

I shall raise up the dead and they shall eat the living.
I shall make the dead outnumber the living.

The whole holy water, cutting off the head thing comes from the High Middle Ages too. From what I’m reading, there seems to be a main difference between the stories of yore and today’s pop cultured zombies…The zombies of yore were always known to people. It was always someone freshly dead, and not an anonymous reanimated corpse bent on eating the brains of villagers.

Side note: I forget which movie it was, but a zombie spoof…originally, zombie’s didn’t just eat brains. They were cannibalistic without any preference. ”Grrrr…pass the gluteus maximus…grrrr”

I wonder if I could do some kind of A&S project on old school zombies. That would be fun. Hmm…I’ll have to see what needs to be done for it to count as an actual project. Otherwise, I’m just a nerd writing about zombies for no particular reason.

…Not one word. Not one.

Where did Halloween originate from?

How did we get it?

Halloween was celebrated by pagans centuries
before the First Century Congregation was founded.

Introduced into the First Century Congregation
centuries after the death of the Apostles, yet it
was celebrated by the pagans centuries before the
First Century Congregation was founded.

From Halloween Through Twenty Centuries, by Ralph
Linton, page 4, it says, “The American celebration
rests upon Scotish and Irish folk customs which
can be traced in direct line from Pre-Christian
times. Although Halloween has become a night of
rollicking fun, superstitious spells, and eerie
games which people take only half seriously, its
beginnings were quite otherwise. The earliest
Halloween celebrations were held by the Druids in
honor of Samhain, Lord of the Dead, whose festival
fell on November 1.”

very distant from being righteous festival.

pagan holiday masquerading as though it was a
genuine custom of the true Congregation of
Yeshua / Jesus Christ.

parents allow their children to get involved in the
spirit of the pagan custom.

The Encyclopedia Americana states, “it’s clearly a
relic of pagan times.”

The Encyclopedia Britannica states, “It long
antedates Christianity. The two chief
characteristics of ancient Halloween were the
lighting of bonfires and the belief that this is the
one night in the year during which ghosts and
witches are most likely to wander about. History
shows that the main celebrations of Halloween were
Druidical and this is further provided by the fact
that in parts of Ireland October 31 is still known
as Oidhch Shamhna, “Virgil of Saman.’”

Halloween celebrated by the pagans long before
Yeshua / Jesus Christ was even born.

Halloween was celebrated by the Romans.

Encyclopedia Britannica continues, “On the Druidic
ceremonies were grafted some of the characteristics
of the Roman festival in honor of Pomona held about
November 1, in which nuts and apples, representing
the winter store of fruits, played an important
part.”

Halloween’s pagan customs are widespread around the
world to celebrate this season.

The Book of Halloween by Ruth Kelley writes, “The
pagan Druid priests taught the immortality of the
soul, that it passed from one body to another at
death … They believed that on the last night of
the old year (October 31) the lord of death
gathered together the souls of all those who had
died in the passing year and had been condemned to
live in the bodies of animals, to decree what forms
they should inhabit for the next twelve months. He
could be coaxed to give lighter sentence by gifts
and prayers. ”

Halloween Through Twenty Centuries page 5 writes,
“On the New Year, their sins being expiated, they
were released to go to the Druid Heaven.”

Wheel of the Year, picture found
here
illustrates Pagan festivals such as Samhain
(Halloween), Yule (Saturnalia – Christmas),
Imbolc, Ostara (Ishtar – Easter) Beltane, Litha,
Lammas, Mabon, which some of their customs have
been grafted into Christianity.

Halloween / Samhain promoted the ‘Doctrine of
Immortality of the Soul” that the dead are not
really dead.

almost all heathen countries had festivals or days
set aside to honor the dead.

These festivals originated from the death of Nimrod,
(Genesis 10:8-10) whom Semiramis said had resurrected
from the dead when an evergreen tree grew out of a
dead tree stump which is the origins of the Christmas
tree associating Yule (Saturnalia – Christmas) to Samhain
(Halloween).

The meaning of the word “Halloween” – Allhallows or
Hallowmas, or All Saints Day which is one of the
festivals of the Catholic Church says Lintons
Halloween Through Twenty Centuries, page 3.

Samhain / Halloween was the evening celebration
commencing at sunset, in anticipation of November 1,
honoring the Lord of the Dead.

Who is Lord of the Dead?

Yeshua / Jesus Christ states in Matthew 22:31-32
“But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have
ye not read that which was spoken to you by God,
saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God
of the dead, but of the living”

God is not God of the dead but in reality and in
righteousness, Yeshua / Jesus Christ is Lord of the
dead.

the dead do not serve God (Psalm 6:5, 115:17), the
soul that sins dies (Ezekiel 18:4), the dead know
nothing (Ecclesiastes 9:5), the dead’s thoughts
perish (Psalm 146:4), only God has immortality
(1 Timothy 1:17, 6:15-16), and only God can destroy
a persons soul (Matthew 10:28)

to consult the dead is an abomination.
(Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:9-12) and is part
of the abominations of the nations.
(Deuteronomy 18:9, 1 Kings 14:24, Ezekiel 6:9)

How is Yeshua / Jesus Christ Lord of the dead? He
defeated death as atonement for our sins but also to
become Lord of the dead (Romans 14:9)

Yeshua / Jesus Christ through his resurrection
obtained the keys to Hades or state of the dead.
(Revelation 1:18)

Who did Yeshua / Jesus take the authority of “Lord
of the Dead” from? Satan / Lucifer ofcourse.
(Hebrews 2:14)

What is Yeshua’s / Jesus Christ’s function as Lord
of the Living and the Dead?

on the last day to change the righteous from mortal
to immortal (1 Corinthians 15:51-58,
1 Thessalonians 4:14-18), to resurrect the righteous
to eternal life (John 3:16) and the unrighteous to
resurrection of condemnation (John 6:39, 40, 44, 54,
11:24-26, 12:48, 5:28-30)

Paganism make the “Lord of the Dead” other than
Yeshua / Jesus Christ but give authority to deities
such as Samhain, Baal, Nimrod, Hercules, Tammuz,
Adonis, Achilles, Orion, Belial, Mithra, Horus,
Osiris, Thor, Yule, Cronos, Kronus, Saturn, Odin,
Bacchus, Dionysus, Molech, Deonius, Jupiter, Man
the Branch, Wodan, Attes, Attis, and many others
depending which variation of paganism the name
derives from.

Paganism really is worshiping Satan / Lucifer as
“Lord of the Dead” , as Satan deceives the whole
world (Revelation 12:9) and Satan / Lucifer is the
Prince the power of the air (Eph 2:2) and god of
this world (2 Cor 4:4).

Giving these deities the authority of “Lord of the
Dead” rather than Yeshua / Jesus Christ is
glorifying Satan / Lucifer and is a form of
Idolatry.

In my opinion Halloween is Satanic.

people today are deceived into believing that
Halloween is harmless fun, but infact are honoring
Satan on this day.

most people know deep in their soul that Halloween
is Occult, sinful, and honors Satan / Lucifer

Apostle Paul states that this kind of worship is
worshiping demons (Galatians 4:8)

Halloween is not a righteous form of worship to
worship God

The True God demands that worshipers worship him
in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:23-24)

What is the origins of All Saints Day?

November 1st, derived from the pagans is celebrated
by in hundreds of Church denominations to honor
the dead Saints

Pope Urban IV states All Saints day is “to honor
all the saints, known and unknown, and to supply
any deficiencies in the faithful’s celebration of
saints’ feasts during the year” according to
Reference Catholic Encyclopedia

How did Christianity come to venerating saints
come to be observed on the day in honor of the
devil?

The Catholic Encyclopedia continues, “… The
Church, feeling that every martyr should be
venerated, appointed a common day for all.”

The Catholic Encyclopedia continues, “Gregory III
(731-741) consecrated a chapel in the basilica
of St. Peter to all saints and fixed the
anniversary on November 1 … Gregory IV
(827-844) extended the celebration on 1 November
to the entire church. The vigil (Halloween) seems
to have been held as early as the feast itself.”

From Halloween Through Twenty Centuries Ralph Linton
says, “All Saints’ Day was introduced into the
church calender because the year was not long
enough to make it possible to dedicate a special
day for each spirit of the Catholic Church, … That
the day chosen was one already associated in the
popular mind with a thronging of spirits of the
dead which was quite in line with church policy
of incorporating harmless pagan folk ideas. ”

Protestant Churches observe All Saints’ Day “since
it was on this day in 1517, that Martin Luther
posted his epoch-making ninety-five theses on the
door of the castle church at Wittenberg, … He
chose Halloween night because he knew that the
townsfolk … would be coming to the church that
night.” (Halloween pp 9-10)

What is the origins of “Trick or Treat?”

Where did the prank of children knocking on peoples
doors and shouting “Trick or Treat” come from?

From Halloween Through Twenty Centuries Ralph Linton
says, “… certainly it comes from pagan times. …
led by a man in a white robe wearing a horse mask.
… which indicated that this custom was a survival
of a Druid rite.”

The horse head was sacred to the Sun God.

The procession levied a contribution from the
farmers in the perverted name of what probably was
an old Druid god. Unless the procession was treated
liberally with gifts, the farmers were tricked with
the threat of a curse that would ruin following years
crops.

The custom of having processions at Halloween were
further derived by wealthy churches during the Middle
Ages copying the ancient Greek and Roman processions
parading the relics of patron saints.

Poorer churches could not afford to buy relics so
they used caricatures of their patron saints

Halloween Through Twenty Centuries page 103 states,
“Those who were not playing the parts of the holy
ones also wanted to get into the procession and so
dressed up as angels or devils. The Allhallows
procession around the churchyard eventually became a
gay and motley parade.”

the “Trick or Treat” custom simply derived from these
former degenerate absurd customs which came out of
paganism, grafting them into Christianity labeling
them with Christian names.

This is so important, I hope that you will look up the Scriptures, and pray about it, before you disregard!!!!!

The 18th Chapter of Revelation talks about the Destruction of a City, Babylon the Great. The first thing we have to understand, is that it is talking not about the real city of Babylon, but a PLACE that is the End Time Spirit of Babylon the Great. It is not only a city, but it is also a nation, that has perfected the mystery religion of ancient Babylon, with all of its holy days under a Disguise. Also, we must look closely at the description of this place, to see if any place in the world today qualifies.

Another question that must be addressed: “What is the relationship between Revelation chapters 17 and 18?”…

1. Mystery Babylon the Great of (Revelation 17:5) is destroyed by the kings of the earth (Revelation 17:16). The Babylon of chapter 18 will be destroyed by cataclysmic judgments of YHWH (18:8). It seems that after the kings fulfill the will of YHWH (Revelation 17:16-17), they afterwards lament (Revelation 18:9).

2. Many believe that Revelation 17 is talking about the Roman Catholic Church. It is a fact, however, that Ishtar is the Queen of Heaven (Jer 7:18; 44:16-19). It is also a fact that the idol Ishtar is represented by the Statue of Liberty. If Revelation 17 is referring to Ishtar, it would not only be the sins of Christianity, as would be the case with the Roman Catholic Church, but it would include all other false religions on the face of the earth. This seems to be more consistent with the sins of Babylon.

See Is the Statue of Liberty Pagan?

The next question that needs answering … is the destruction of Babylon in Revelation 18 the same event that is spoken of in Jeremiah and Isaiah? The following verses suggest that when Babylon is destroyed, it will be destroyed forever, never to rise again.

Isaiah 13:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when Elohim overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. 20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

Note: Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed forever!

Jeremaih 50:39-40 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation. As Elohim overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith YHWH; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

It appears that the Babylon of Isaiah chapter 13 is the same as the Babylon of Jeremiah 50! Both will be destroyed as Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed, never to rise again.

Jeremiah 51:62 Then shalt thou say, O YHWH, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.

Again, Jeremiah backs up the fact that Babylon will be desolate forever.

Now, it appears that what was true of the Babylon spoken of in Isaiah and the Babylon spoken of in Jeremiah, is also true of the Babylon spoken of in Revelation 18.

Revelation 18:22-23 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

This is the question: how many times will YHWH destroy Babylon forever, never to rise again?

The first thing Revelation 18 talks about, after telling of the fall of Babylon the Great, is her spiritual fornication and how she has been a world leader to bring other nations to worship strange mighty ones, and to promote natural and spiritual fornication.

Revelation 18:3… For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Jeremiah 51:7 – Babylon hath been a golden cup in YHWH’s hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

One thing that comes to mind, when reading this, is Hollywood and television. The United States has been, and still is, the leader in this area. Also, when speaking of spiritual fornication, consider deceptive televangelism and its overwhelming influence on millions worldwide!

The next thing it talks about is how rich she is, so rich that the merchants of the whole earth can be made rich with the abundance of her delicacies, and I can think of no other place that this can be talking about other than the United States!

YHWH’s PEOPLE ARE WARNED TO FLEE BEFORE HIS WRATH IS POURED OUT BECAUSE OF HER SINS

Revelation 18:4-5 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” For her sins have reached unto heaven, and YHWH hath remembered her iniquities.

Jeremiah 51:6 – Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of YHWH’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.

Jeremiah 51:9 – We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

Apparently, the sins of Babylon are so numerous, that her sins are compared to reaching from earth to heaven!!

WHAT ARE SOME OF THESE SINS? CAN THEY BE CHRONICLED?

As was already mentioned, the idolatry of Hollywood and television and the wickedness they portray. This evil has been exported world wide!! Besides idolatry, there is arrogance; pride; greed; rebellion; witchcraft; legalized murder of unborn babies; acceptance of homosexuality as a normal alternative lifesyle; evil music with evil lyrics; pornography. Even though other nations of the world are also guilty of these sins, The United States is the world leader, it sets the trends of the world! It is commonly called the American Pop Culture, that is, the “American way of life” that is exported world wide.

YHWH doubles her punishment:

Revelation 18:6… Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

Jeremiah 50:15 – Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of YHWH: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

Babylon is Guilty of Pride and Arrogance!!

Revelation 18:7…How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Jeremiah 50:29 – Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against YHWH, against the Holy One of Israel.

Babylon is noted for her materialism, commonly referred to around the world as having “Streets Paved with Gold”

Revelation 18:9-11 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning , standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, “Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.” And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore

Revelation 18:12-14 gives a list of the merchandise found in Babylon the Great. Then verse 15 tells about how the merchants of these things weep and lament at the destruction of Babylon because they can no longer get rich by selling their merchandise to Babylon.

Revelation 18:15-19 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

I can think of no other place in the world today that qualifies to be Babylon the Great other than the United States of America! YHWH’s judgments are sure. They are not based on man’s opinion polls! He has given us His word, which clearly states that Babylon is going to be destroyed forever. It has already been judged! It is my hope and prayers that YHWH reveals to his people those things that we must know to be in his will!

I will close with an admonition from the word of YHWH…

Ecclesiastes 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.

You probably didn’t realize it but America is steeped in Idols! Yes and the Statue of Liberty

You probably didn’t realize it but America is steeped in Idols! Yes and the Statue of Liberty is actually a replica of the Babylonian goddess Ishtar the Mother of Harlots and the goddess of Freedom/Liberty. This “artwork” was created by a Freemason who wanted to honor a Masonic doctrine that dates back to before Nimrod!

  Statue of Liberty - Ishtar/Isis

The Statue of Liberty is another Brotherhood symbol highlighting the lighted torch. The Statue of Liberty is actually the Statue of Liberties – the liberties perpetrated on the American people by the Brotherhood. There she stands on her island in New York Harbour holding her torch of freedom and Americans believe she is the symbol of their liberty in the Land of the Free. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Statue of Liberty was given to New York by French Freemasons and her mirror image stands on an island in the River Seine in Paris. These statues of liberty are representations of Ishtar and Isis et al, with the rays of the Sun around her head. The ancients symbolized the Sun in this way. And they are not holding the torch of liberty, but the torch of the illuminated ones, the reptilian Elite. The Statue of Liberty is a Brotherhood symbol which says: We control this country and we are telling you so, but you are too blind to see it!

The Freemasonry Connection

The Statue of Liberty in New York harbour was presented in 1884 as a gift from the French Grand Orient Temple Masons to the Masons of America in celebration of the centenary of the first Masonic Republic. The maker of the statue was Freemason Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi. He had already made a statue of the Freemason Marquis de Lafayette for the city of New York, for the occasion of the centenary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Bartholdi sailed to America, at the suggestion of other Freemasons and kindred spirits in France, for the purpose of proposing the project. Although he had no drawings as he set sail, his Masonic biographer writes, as he entered New York harbor, “he caught a vision of a magnificent goddess (Nimrod’s Semiramis — Isis or Astarte), holding aloft a torch (of Illuminism) in one hand and welcoming all visitors to the land of freedom and opportunity” (signifying Brotherhood control of the American people by the “liberties” perpetrated against them).Returning to France, he managed to raise, through the help of a great deal of Masonic propaganda, the sum of 3,500,000 French francs, a very large sum for the 1870’s. For the face of his “Goddess of Liberty” he chose his own mother.

Structural framework was provided by Freemason Gustave Eiffel, later to be famous for the 984-feet (300-meter) high Eiffel Tower. Although financial support for the statue was forthcoming in France, America was not willing to put up the money for the pedestal. It was Joseph Pulitzer, the owner

and editor of the New York World, who managed to raise over $100,000 for the project.

On Washington’s Birthday in 1877, Congress accepted the statue as a gift from the French people. Bedloe’s Island, now Liberty Island, was chosen by General Sherman, the well-known Atlanta-burner. Meanwhile in Paris the work gradually progressed. Levi P. Morton, the then Ambassador to France, drove the first rivet. The statue was finished on May 21, 1884, and presented to Ambassador Levi Morton on July 4th of the same year by Ferdinand de Lesseps, builder of the Suez canal.

On the American side, the chairman of the American committee to receive the statue contacted the Grand Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. It had been a tradition in America to have the cornerstone of major public and private buildings and monuments “consecrated” with full Masonic rites, ever since Freemason George Washington, in 1793, had personally laid the cornerstone of the Capitol, with the assistance of the Grand Lodge of Maryland.

The decorated vessel ‘Bay Ridge’ carried about a hundred Freemasons, along with some civil officials, to Bedloe’s Island. Freemason Richard M. Hunt, the principal architect of the pedestal, handed the working tools to the Masonic officers.

Then Freemason Edward M.,L. Ehlers, Grand Secretary and a member of the Continental Lodge 287, read the list of items to be included in the copper box within the cornerstone: a copy of the United States Constitution; George Washington’s Farewell Address; twenty bronze medals of Presidents up through Chester A. Arthur [including Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Polk, Buchanan, Johnson and Garfield, who were all Freemasons]; copies of New York City newspapers; a portrait of Bartholdi; a copy of ‘Poem on Liberty’ by E. R. Johnes; and a list on parchment of the Grand Lodge officers.

The traditional Masonic ceremony was observed. The cornerstone being found square, level and plumb, the Grand Master applied the mortar and had the stone lowered into place. He then struck the stone three times, and declared it duly laid. Then the elements of “consecration” were presented, corn, wine, and oil.

The “Most Worshipful” Grand Master then spoke a few words. He posed the question: “Why call upon the Masonic Fraternity to lay the cornerstone of such a structure as is here to be erected?”

His answer was: “No institution has done more to promote liberty and to free men from the trammels and chains of ignorance and tyranny than has Freemasonry.”

The principal address was given by the Deputy Grand Master: “Massive as this statue is, its physical proportions sink into comparative obscurity when contrasted with the nobility of its concept. Liberty Enlightening the World! How lofty the thought! To be free, is the first, the noblest aspiration of the human breast. And it is now a univally admitted truth that only in proportion as men become possessed of liberty, do they become civilized, enlightened and useful.”

The statue arrived in dismantled pieces in June of 1885. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. President Grover Cleveland [who although sympathetically disposed toward the craft was not a Freemason] presided over the ceremony and Freemason Henry Potter, Episcopal Bishop of New York gave the invocation. Freemason Bartholdi pulled the tricolor French flag off the statue’s face. The main address was given by Freemason Chauncey M. Depew, a United States Senator.

She is holding the Masonic “Torch of Enlightenment”. Also referred to back in the 1700’s by the Illuminati Masons as the “Flaming Torch of Reason”. The Torch represents the “Sun” in the sky.

The Statue of Liberty’s official title is, “Liberty Enlightening the World”.

The cornerstone of the statue records how it was laid in a Masonic ceremony .

The plaque of the cornerstone doesnt lie.

THE TORCH SYMBOL

Illuminati means to “bare light” one way to symbolize this is by carrying a torch. A torch sits on top of the Statue of Liberty, on top of JFK’s grave, and on top of the tunnel where Princess Diana was killed.

Best selling author, Robert Bauval:

“The cornerstone for the Statue of Liberty was placed in a solemn ceremony in 1884 organised by the Masonic lodges of New York.

The Statue of Liberty, which was designed by the French sculptor Bartholdi and actually built by the French Engineer, Gustave Eiffel (both well-known Freemasons), was not originally a ‘Statue of Liberty’ at all, but first planned by Bartholdi for the opening of the Suez Canal in Egypt in 1867.

Bartholdi, like many French Freemasons of his time, was deeply steeped in ‘Egyptian’ rituals, and it has often been said that he conceived the original statue as an effigy of the goddess Isis, and only later converted it to a ‘Statue of Liberty’ for New York harbour when it was rejected for the Suez Canal.”

The goddess Isis is known by many names, including Juno.

Roman goddess Juno ( wife of Zeus) She and Liberty could be twins!

From another article by Bauval:

“The ‘torch’ analogy is very interesting. The original statue of Bartholdi destined first for Port Said at the mouth of the Suez Canal, was also to bear a torch intended to symbolise ‘the Orient showing the way’. The ‘Grand Orient’, of course, is the name of the French Masonic mother lodge, and to which Bartholdi belonged. There is another similar ‘torch’ that played a strange role in the French Revolution, but of which I will reveal later in my forthcoming book “Talisman”. It still is to be seen in the skyline of Paris today.

People today do not realise the power of such symbolism, and how they can be used with devastating effect on the minds of the unsuspecting masses. And this is worrying. The SS Nazi movement made prolific use of all these ’symbol games’, and wreeked havoc in the world.

St. Petersburg, Fla. — The Canadian Press Published on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 12:08PM EDT

Toronto will host the World Pride event in 2014 after winning a vote among gay delegates at the international InterPride Conference in Florida.

Toronto beat its main rival for the event, Stockholm, on Sunday to win the hosting duties.

Tracey Sandilands, executive director of Pride Toronto, told Toronto television station CP24 that Toronto captured 77 votes to Stockholm’s 61 in the first round of voting, eliminating Stockholm.

But that wasn’t enough for the two-thirds majority needed to win the right to host the political and cultural event, she said.

A second vote of yes or no gave Toronto a 78 per cent endorsement, said Ms. Sandilands.

Pride Toronto officials said that this summer’s Pride Week drew an estimated one million people to Toronto and contributed $136-million to the city’s economy.

”World Pride is going to be about five times bigger,” said Ms. Sandilands.

A delegation of 10 people went to Florida to present Toronto’s bid, including representatives from Pride Toronto, Tourism Toronto and Toronto police.

The Toronto event will be the fourth scheduled World Pride since the event’s inception in Rome in 2000.

World Pride promotes lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues on an international level through parades, festivals, and other cultural activities.

The next one is set for just prior to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, England in 2012.

EN NOW….the work continues. Pride Toronto has alot of revamping to do if it means to honour that title.

This year, I came back to Tdot, specially jus’ for Pride, and I gotta say, I think there were way too many gaps.

As Ugandan MP David Bahati spearheads a campaign around the adoption of the homophobic ‘Baha

As Ugandan MP David Bahati spearheads a campaign around the adoption of the homophobic ‘Bahati’s bill’, Solome Nakaweesi-Kimbugwe and Frank Mugisha call for an unwavering rejection of a piece of legislation entirely against the interests of wider Ugandan society.

With strong suspicions of Bahati’s financial backing by extreme-right Christian groups in the US, the bill seeks not only to establish draconian punishments for homosexual acts but also to actively encourage Ugandans to snoop on one another indefinitely for the supposed good of the nation.

If homophobes like Bahati were really worried about ‘protect[ing] the traditional family’, Nakaweesi-Kimbugwe and Mugisha argue, they’d concern themselves with tackling the conditions keeping so many Ugandans in poverty, rather than making scapegoats of homosexual people. The authors conclude that with an election approaching in 2011, the momentum behind the bill smacks of a none-too-subtle attempt to divert attention away from Uganda’s true issues.

We are addresssing the intersections of our diversity, sharing resources, and building radical, sustaining and sustainable coalitions.

It’s significant to note that there were only 3 (bio) brothas in the brainstorming session. And only one was over the age of 4. That would be Chris Harris from BADC. another comrade in the struggle for afrikan liberation, ase. and ase, to all the wo/mynthat came together to build solidarity.
