Fridays bring with them a lot of hope for fun and travel. Weekend to me means rest and fun. Every Friday, I plan to post some quotes and pictures I find on the net. This week’s theme is love and forgiveness. Why not learn to forgive others a little?

I love weekends because I get time to  be with myself. This weekend, I have loads of plans – reading, traveling and of course, writing.  Writing is high on my radar and I have more than three blogs to update. The other things include shopping and traveling to some nearby picnic spots. Hope you too have a lot of plans. Have fun and celebrate life. Happy weekend!

I think it’s fairly obvious that I don’t do a lot of self promotion, or I would have had many more excellent guesses on the cheese contest.  So with that said, WE HAVE A WINNER. Richard guesses 1323 pounds and although that is over by a few pounds he is declared the WINNER.  You will be receiving in the mail a selection of fine cheeses.   Can you email me your street address, no PO boxes please. 

The largest cheese I’ve had the pleasure of cutting was called a Mammoth Cheddar and this one was 1000 pounds.  This is a young cheddar cheese and very mild in flavor.   The yellow cheese encased in wax, was on a wooden pallet so it could be taken in and out of the cooler every night in order to lower the possibility of mold.  It took at least two people to begin the initial cuts and this was done with a piano wire wrapped around two wooden handles.  Before we could start the actual cutting, we would score the wax.  This was done for a couple of reasons…first to show how we were going to divide the cheese into sections.  And secondly to create a trough for the wire to be placed into to maintain a straight cut.  This cheese was busted down into manageble pieces and it was usually done on the sales floor of  the store to create ‘theatre’.  It was a fun process and we sold a lot of cheese.   I don’t remember being sore after slicing up this bad boy, but I bet I’d be sore if I attempted that now. 

I couldn’t find  an image of a 1000 lb mammoth cheddar on the intertubes, but click on the link and read about the history of cheddar.  This woman does outstanding carving on a variety of cheese, it’s amazing and I’ve seen her work at some of the conferences I’ve attended.  This particular mammoth is about 350 pounds as a point of reference for what 1000 pounds might look like.

See it pays to pay attention and make guesses…I think I’ll have another contest soon….what will it be?

Този пост трябваше да се появи на бял свят още миналия месец по това време, но мен ме издомързя и сега си плащам. Чакай, откога да зяпам Джаред и Дженсън допълнително много е наказание? Нещо май съм си фраснала главата без да разбера. В краен случай мога и да не донапиша ревюто за този еп и да мина директно на новия. Или да изчакам но петък за следващия xD Ретроспекция, дрън дрън. Хаха, присетих се за ангелския кондом. Ми какво бе, радва ме тая сцена.

Ооо, кола, нея я знам от превюто. Little bastard! Мале, колко са вманиачени… Почти колкото нас, не мислите ли? Само че ако докопаме обектите на нашето вманиачаване (Джаред или Дженсън, кой когото), не мисля, че изобщо ще чакаме. Ще си се разпищим директно.

У, призрак… Бяха ми залипсвали тия сладури. Little Bastard, поръсено с малко кръвчица. Както го обичам! Интрото не спира да ме радва. Дайте ми кръв, че да се радвам.

Добре де, защо, ЗАЩО! трябва да е толкова тъмно. Не могат ли примерно да обикалят някой паркинг в кръгчета, добре осветено и всичко. Не ме разбирайте погрешно, Джаред и Дженсън на тъмно просто няма да описвам какво биха предизвикали като реакция. А да не говорим за Импалата и какви звуци издава бебчето…

Доообре, местим се нататък. Колт, Колт… Ох, присетих се за Принцеса Спаркъл (демек Руби от трети сезон). Странична тема, връщаме с в Импалата. О, ама те ще говорят… Някой друг усети ли се, че пуснаха някаква мила прочувствена музика? WTF? Това да не ви е daytime soap-opera? Кфа е тая музика ве??? Боже мили, наистина настана време за края на света. Напоследък прекалено много музика (нерок имам предвид) пускат в СПН.

А, полицаите са СТРАШНО тъпи. Просто е, да… Аха, а аз съм Снежанка, за 28. път. Ох, отбелязах ли? Момчетата с костюми. Боже, дай ми сили…

Ама Дийн как гледа, хахахахаха, шматка тотална. Little Bastard. As in THE Little Bastard? Същата, Дийн. Сцената от превюто няма да я коментирам. Освен че не сме чували Дийн да обяснява нещо от доста време. Видите ли, и бате можел да обяснява. Няма да коментирам гласа на Дженсън, че ми дойде малко в повечко. Или пък физиономията му… Ох, мале… Сега какво? Това, че съм тийм Сам, не означава, че съм сляпа за бате. Но съм тийм Сам винаги, с малките изключения на онзи епизод, където Кастиел ни подлуди всички.

Обратно към този епизод, моля. А, благодаря. Ох, милия, с тая кола… На нея можело да не й харесва Сам да я гледа… Е, уби ме Да бе, върви му кажи какво да прави. Батко, батко, ама чак пък толкова… А той в бара. Добре де, струваше си физиономиите му, ама до там. Че вече и оправдание няма, хах.

It’s you. You’re dead! You’re supposed to be dead! – ами, явно не е толкова мъртво мъртъв. Че сте и глупави… Невежи хорица… Хахахаха, ръмжащ Линкълн. Якооо. Винаги съм си мислела, че за да станеш президент, трябва да си малко луд.

Оф, тоя с логичното обяснение ме дразни. Иска ми се да умре. Ама ме дразни. Нещо за семейството, за къщата… Добре, разбирала съм една-две думи на испански xD Но Сами е мноооооого добър, хахаххаах. Испански за начинаещи, аха, да добре.

Да ме извинявате, ако съм го написала грешно, но испански не уча. Поправете ме където трябва.

О. БОЖЕ. МИЛИ! Дийн има лаптоп! Не знам дали в този епизод е първата поява, понеже изостава с ревютата с четири епизода. Но май е този. И о боже мили, Дийн е в 21. век! Остава да си прикачи с USB едно касетофонче и да си слуша Металика от касетките. По дяволите, искам да видя тапета му! Искаааам! И лаптопа му е черен, добре, добре. Дийн, миличък, като си почнал думи с представка супер-, кажи Дийни supernatural! Ъ, не каза. Лош Дийн. Трябва някой да дойде да те научи. Не аз, ще оставя на другите това. Ах, развалено-испанско-говорящия ми той. Не е ли симпатичен, а? А? А? Дийн с бира. Класическо.

Съжалявам, че се подигравам така непряко на Ганди, обаче изказването на Дийн беше смешно. Yeah, for a Smurf! xD Ох, честно казано, не ми се коментира идиотизма на фейк!репортери!Сам-и-Дийн. Защото полицейски-нюх!Сам-и-Дийн са толкова по-яки. А тоя, управителя, е много смотан. Просто толкова ужасно смотан.

Ох, монтаж с пистолети и пушка и Сам и просто аз ли полудявам, или shotguns are the new sexy?  Сценаристите наистина обаче прекалиха с това за вината на Сам. Дийн просто прекали. Ама наистина. джърк!Дийн. И, отново, прекалено много музика, прекалено силна. Какво им става на тия от музикалния департамент? Като не могат да намерят пари за AC/DC, поне да не ни засипват с боклучарска инструментална атмосферна музика! Предпочитам да слушам стъпките на хубавите крачета на Джаред и Дженсън. Или как дишат. Обичам да слушам как някой диша. Yeah, I’m a freak.

Подигравката с Ейб Линкълн – не толкова забавна. Физиономията на Дженсън? Oh, yes, baby! DuckFace!Dean is back! Но веднага след това трябва да ни дадат имам-зъбобол-и-по-физиономията-ми-си-личи!Сам, за да ни развалят кефа. Не ги е срам. Много странно се мръщи той човек. Аз пак си го обичам.

Ахахахахаах, да те пребие Ганди! Буахахахахаах! Ама е много зъл ве, души нашия свещен Сами! There shall be no touching of the holy Sammuel! Или пък хапане! Уууу, най-накрая! Беше взело да ми писва от шеф!Дийн – не ме разбирайте погрешно, може да ми нарежда какво да правя всеки ден. Ама това вече беше доста нахално от негова страна. Почти ненормално се държи. Или сценаристите нещо са се сбъркали, или доста е бил разтърсен от събитията в предния епизод. Ама пък е егати кучката. Няма да стане номера, пич, малкото ти братче е с 6 сантиметра по-високо и “да те гледа отгоре” скоро няма да е само относно височината му.

Боже мили, бях забравила колко обичам гласовете им… Мамини те. Да, тотално ще игнорирам словоизлиянията им, понеже са total bullshit. Тоя разговор трябваше да го проведат преди пет години. Но the Kripkeeper е наистина зъл.

Парис Хилтън… Ох, не знам защо, просто не я обичам. Може да има общо с русотата и кученцата. Но джийзъс крайст, колко добре изглежда Сами в това облекло. И ръцете му, докато се бори да изчовърка ония неща от човека. Както беше казано в едно ревю Грешно ли е да се възхищавам на ръцете на Сам, докато той ровичка в нечий труп? Аз казвам Не! Много си е правилно даже. Ръцете на Сам са нещо епично. Непреодолимо епично. Hey! Geek!Sam is cute!

Леши… Това ми е познато бе. Може да има нещо общо с това, че живея на Балканите. Go! Gank the evil pagan!bich~! И, ОТНОВО, МУЗИКАТА! Това да не ви е евтин хорър филм? Сериозно, взех да се дразня. Кой отговаря за музиката на този епизод? Искам да го изкормя.

Ах, за момент имах надеждата, че ДжДМ ще се появи. Но пък си струваше Сами да обезглави Парис Хилтън! Егати якото! Искам пак. И лицето му, хахахаха, какъв ми е сладък, като е покрит с кръв.

Предусещам сърдечен разговор. И, отново, трябваше да го водят преди пет години.  Някой друг да се сети за What do you say we  kill some evil sons of bitches and raise a little Hell? Май ще вземем да се сдобрим. Да види и да не повярва човек. Ще вдигна езическо тържество, когато това стане.

Just to catch you up, you might want to read part one. 

About two years ago I was being fitted for new contacts and the fit was never correct on my left eye. Try this new lense, how about this new lense? Does this new lense work? None of these corrections seemed to help.  On top of that the woman in charge of the contact lens department was a crank and rude.  Ok, I wasn’t the valedictorian at any of my graduations, but I’m not stupid either.  This woman treated me like I was stupid and that I didn’t know my own eyes.  I grew weary of her attitude so I eventually  left that practice and went to another optometrist.  I limped along with the contacts they provided and tried to make it work.

For your edification, let’s pretend that someone was walking toward you with an open container of petroleum jelly.  Just as you pass them, an earthquakes occurs, causing their hand to dislodge a blob of said petroleum jelly where it is launched and lands directly in your left eye.  Your vision is now a constant blur, it does not sting, it does not cause you headaches. Your vision is now compromised.  You now may have a keener understanding of  Impressionist Paintings.  You are now in sync with what I have been going through for the last few years and you now see how I’ve been seeing.  The earthquake did not cause any additional damage.

Let’s slow forward to December ‘08.  I’m at the new place seeing, (get it, seeing) the new Doc, getting all tested. I’m given contacts, with instructions to wear these for a couple of weeks, then I’m to come back in for a follow up and viola’, life is good.  But it’s not, I go back to be refitted, none of these lenses are working.  This happens 4 times.  Let’s do the math….4 appointments with an average of 3 weeks in between, because we have to include Christmas closings, vacations and New Years closing, that is about 12 weeks. AUGH!  A couple of days before my NEXT appointment I have this epiphany that perhaps it’s my eye that is out of whack and not the contact fitting.  On top of all the waiting I was being shuffled between Doctors, who weren’t very good at writing notes, because I had to keep reminding them as to why I was there….again. 

I settle into the chair and tell the Doc about my thoughts on having a whacked out eye.  For the record, I don’t think “whacked out” is an actual medical term, but I’m not all caught up on that like some people I know.  The Doc started poking around with different lights and lasers and stuff.  He sits back  and says that he is going to send me to a retinal specialist because he sees something on my eye but isn’t sure as to what it might be.  It could very well be the beginning of a cataract. well halla-fuckin-looo-ya!  Now we’re getting somewhere, my blurriness might end…..eventually.

I know this is getting long winded, but please stay with me.  After a few weeks of the ’scheduling dance’ with the retinal specialist, the day is set.  Sweet Husband comes along to drive me home since my eyes will be dilated.  Here’s the part that makes us sound like OLD people.  I asked if would he come into the appointment with me, because I wanted him to hear what was said, so I wouldn’t have to repeat it. I have a good memory, it’s just short. I am SO glad he was there to hear it with very own ears.

I’m given a myriad of test with lights and lasers and dancers.  Just kidding, there weren’t dancers, I wanted to make sure you were paying attention.  I want to go on record that not once did this “retinal specialist’ physically look into my eyes. It was her 18 year old assistant that did all the testing.   We asked about the possibility of a cataract and she said no, there was no cataract.  (For the quoted part think with a Russian accent)

” Also, plus you will need to take vitamin.”

Um, excuse me, what do the vitamins do, I asked her. 

 ”They will be like other vitamin, it will help eye” 

So how does this help my sight right now, I ask. 

” It does not help now, it makes time to end of sight longer”

END OF SIGHT????  WTF!?!

“You should not stress,  is only 10% of vision.  I see patients every day that lose 50-75% of vision, so take vitamin.”

 Don’t STRESS?  Don’t fucking STRESS?  So there’s nothing you can do to help me, I implore her.  My head is about to explode which would make the point of seeing, useless anyway. 

“No, just take vitamin, assistant get vitamins and make an appointment for 6 months to check up again.”

Like hell, I’m coming back to this place,we walked out of the office, I am stunned and sobbing.  I turn 50 and this is what I have to show for it, loosing my eyesight?  While I was still in the office with her, I told her that I was not going to accept her diagnosis.  Her body language showed me she couldn’t care less.  And if you’ve been reading carefully you’ll notice that I didn’t write what her diagnosis was, it’s because she never said it to me.  The diagnosis came in the form of a report back to my referring dr who then shared it with me.  It seems that I have macular degeneration.  I urge you to click the link, in case you don’t know what that is.  There is no cure, and that makes me sad. 

HOWEVER, not one to be deterred by bad news, I get an appointment with my first original eye doctor and request the records from Dr Killjoy be sent to his office.  I went back to this office as they had eye mapping records that went back for a few years.   I go in we have a lengthy discussion, I tell him the reason I left was because of the Contact Nazi and he assured me that situation would be solved.   I go through all of his eye tests, and we come to the conclusion that a second opinion is needed.  YEAH!

I am set up to go to a different retinal specialist for my second opinion.   The day arrives, Sweet Husband again needs to take me as I won’t be able to drive.  This appointment is WAY different, I was tested, tested and retested.  Dr Cute-young-thing is looking into my eye with a very strong light when she, exclaims, “oh, I see what it is, you have a cataract that is very hard to see on the front part of your blabbity blah blah blab”  We’ll take a picture so you can see it. And they did, and there it was, in high definition color, a half moon of cataract in my left eye.  It was a beautiful thing.

So I don’t have macular degeneration, I ask.   No, not one sign of macular degeneration.  You’ll have to see a cataract specialist but no, you don’t have macular degeneration.  I was ecstatic, I was going to be able to wipe the petroleum jelly out of my eye and not be annoyed by that need to see.

I’ve since been to the cataract specialist.  There was a show about him a little while back, called Doogie Howser, M.D.  This guy was young, I wanted to ask him if his mom knew where he was.  But the first thing out of his mouth was, “You’re kind of young to be having cataracts” to which I instantly cut him some slack.  Yes I am young, and once surgery is completed in October, I think I will feel even younger.  I was told that everyone gets cataracts and that it is the easiest correction to make.  I will be very happy to be able to see clearly, that too is a beautiful thing.

I recently got the bill from Dr. Killjoy for the amount that the insurance didn’t cover.  Do I still have to pay it if the diagnosis was wrong?

If there is nothing else that you do to improve your marketing program, I’d like to beg for three simple things. These are things I witness daily, and they are such easy fixes. Here goes:

No need to appear desperate or pushy: Increasingly, I go to a new blog and before I can read beyond the headline a pop-up window appears, imploring me to subscribe. I’m not going to subscribe to a blog I haven’t read. Of late, I’ve taken to closing the pop-out window and clicking away from those sites. If you are going to be pushy, I don’t want to hang around and read what you have to say.

A Few Tweets Daily Will Suffice: I want to know about your new products, and see photos, and I want to hear your news. If you have a truly original pearl of wisdom to share, please do. I could use all the wisdom you have. I even want to hear that Junior won the baseball game, or that you liked the new episode of “True Blood” because, geez, I didn’t know that you liked “True Blood,” too, and now I know we have that in common and I want to do business with people I have stuff in common with. Having said that, I don’t want to open my Twitter page and see you cluttering up the stream with tweet after tweet. Like seasoning, you don’t need to overpower us. I tend to unfollow people who tweet too much. I’m not alone in that habit.

Listen to Your Clients: I’m bringing this up out of the blue, because I was just watching an old “Madmen” episode and I was cringing at how the handsome Don Draper was telling a client basically, “Shut-up, you don’t know what you are talking about and that’s why you hired us, so you better like our pitch.” It makes great TV, but in real life, your client just ends up either resenting you, making fun of you behind your back, or firing you. You are a strategic partner. Not a creative dictator.

There used to be this great saying (that seems to have lost its way): “The client is always right.” Granted, it’s not always true, but listen to what they have to say when they tell you why they don’t like your idea. Work with them to uncover what will really help you achieve the goals at hand. I should not have to write this. Yet I heard a story just today of how it happened to a friend. I’ve witnessed it on the client side, and I’ve been tempted to do it on the agency side. It’s tempting to turn into Don Draper, but if you are watching the show, being Don Draper isn’t exactly working out for him. So why bother?

The busiest of busy weeks is finally over. Had a midterm and major essay due this week, the result from the essay: don’t drink Lake Erie’s water.

UFC 101 is on this weekend, and if I were able to do anything this weekend, I think I’d attend the event. It’s being held in Philadelphia since the sport has just been recently legalized in the state of Pennsylvania. I’d probably spend the rest of the weekend in NYC if I could. I’ve been having reoccurring dreams that I have an apartment there. Maybe once I do visit the city, my obsession with Chicago will dwindle. Only time will tell…

Dr. Supply Chain is going well so far. We have about 200 followers on Twitter since we launched the account two weeks ago. Azwar and I will be meeting again this week so more progress will be made then…

I hope to create a vision board when I have some free time. I have a great bulletin board built into my wall so it’s only a matter of finding some images that represent my vision for the future.

Halo, halo?! Doin crazy stuff  weekenders?

Apa kabarnya nih? Gak kerasa ya, udah mau puasa lagi…Waktu berjalan dengan cepat ternyata?! Padahal hidup kita tuh masih penuh sama yang namanya kejutan. Usia pun makin bertambah dan makin mengenal apa itu arti kata dewasa. Iya gak?

Seperti biasa, Jum’at ini gue bakalan nampilin MV dari penyanyi-penyanyi Korea. karena belum ada yang request di komentar It’s Friday minggu lalu. Terpaksa MV-MV yang gue suka dipajang di sini…huahaha…

Pengen tau siapakah rapper tercepat di Korea? Outsider lah orangnya. Dia dibina oleh MC. Sniper yg juga seorang rapper kenamaan Korea. Seperti yang kalian tahu, gw itu hard corenya Korean Rap juga. Heuheu, maruk ya?

2. Namoola Family ft. Baek Ji Young – Hold On ( Even I hold on to You )

Group Hip Hop ini sebenernya 3 host acara-acara televisi di Korea yang beranggotakan Kim Jae Woo, Kim Kyung Wook, dan Kim Tae Hwan. Kali ini di lagu  Hold On mereka featuring penyanyi papan atas Korea Baek Ji Young yang punya suara bagus, dulu Baek nyanyi lagu bertempo cepat, cuman setelah putar haluan ke ballad…woah, dia bener-bener cocok di ballad juga ternyata.

3. MC. Mong ft. MAC – I’m Going Crazy

Gue gak bisa bilang apa-apa sama rapper/host/komedian yang satu ini. The best pokoknyalah…Mongky Fighting!!

Gue milih lagu I’m Going Crazy soalnya MV-nya lucu, terus ada Park Yejin juga.

It’s Friday!

I promise I wont start every entry with “It’s”.

Every Friday I’ll look at if there were no limitations in this world, what would I do this weekend? It’s always fun to daydream and there is nothing better than visualizing things you want.

Although we are in the dog days of the summer. I think I’d travel to one of my favourite cities in the whole world: Chicago, Illinois!

Chicago is home to the Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks, and of course is the Oprah capital of the world. Oh yeah, and some guy named Obama is from this great city too.

I had the pleasure of visiting Chicago a few years ago with my Uncle. We took a boat tour that led us through the little river-ways that run all through the city. These river-ways really add to the atmosphere of the city. The view we had of the skyscrapers from below street level made me feel insignificant. But we went from one extreme to another, as we went up to the top of the John Hancock Observatory. The view from the observatory was incredible and could make one feel insignificant again.

However, the people of Chicago did make us feel significant. We were heading to the football game during rush hour and stopped a city bus driver to ask which bus route to take to the stadium. The driver was really welcoming and made sure we were on our correct path. Once at the game, I had the audacity to wear the opponent’s team colours. Yet, the people didn’t treat me poorly. When I left my seat to grab a bite to eat, I missed my team score a touchdown. The gentleman beside me seemed disappointed that I had missed it, so he described the play in depth.  My team won that night, but the Bears ended up going to the Super Bowl that year, I guess they got the last laugh.

I had a great time in Chicago that year. I haven’t even touched on the gorgeous urban parks that are there. There is so much to the city that you really have to check it out for yourself. I know with the first opportunity I’ll return to the city.
