What a way to start my day.

I had a sleepless night last night because I was really nervous about the course registration this morning.

The system in UM is that you register online on a certain date at 9am.

I overslept the first time because I went clubbing the night before, so it’s my own fault I didn’t get the classes I wanted.

Then the second time I was away in Kelantan for BTN, so I had to rely on Ang to register for me.

So yeah, again, I didn’t get the classes I wanted.

I really wanted to change things this time as I’m at home, so I planned to wake up at 8am, just in case anything goes wrong, like Maxis broadband suddenly cannot work or something.

Oh, why am I so scared, I can always register a bit later right? One two minutes make no difference?

W.R.O.N.G.

I was only late by 5 minutes the first time, as they say the registration only starts at 9am.

But thing is, by 8.45am, people start sitting in front of their computers and keep refreshing the page already.

So as soon as it’s open, and usually it opens like 10 minutes before 9, people start registering. By 9, all classes are full already.

I sat in front of my computer this time, at 8.15am.

And I joined the rest of the kiasu people and kept refreshing.

But again, I was too late for a few classes.

I seriously don’t understand how this system works.

How is it possible to be full in a matter of seconds?

And classes that are full are core subjects that I need to finish before proceeding to the next semester.

So how am I going to continue with what ever I want to do?

And I cannot get the elective course I wanted, meaning it’s more difficult for me to continue with the major I wanted earlier.

This is seriously frustrating.

I seriously want to watch New Moon!!!

I’ve heard loads of bad reviews about this movie but seriously, I don’t care at all and I am going to watch it.

People always say it’s lame and ridiculous and Kirsten Stewart can’t act but hey, it’s just a movie lah.

Since when any of the movies we watch make any sense in real life.

You want realistic movies then better don’t watch any cause in reality, there’s no wizard schools, no immortality, and strangers don’t fall in love that often like in the movies!

I won’t call myself a fan of Twilight  cause if Robert, Taylor or any of the casts are here in Malaysia, I don’t think I will take the effort to queue and scream their names just to see them from afar.

Anyhow, my point is, I watched Twilight and I read all four books so I think I will want to watch all the movies also!

I mean, since I’ve already started might as well continue right?

But thing is, I’m going back university again for the Royal Debates until the 8th.

Let’s just hope the movie is still showing by the time I get back.

Okay, the title sounds a bit wrong. Haha!

Holidays started like about one week only and I’m starting to rot at home already.

So I go online pretty often and what else to do if not FB when you online the whole afternoon.

And I use this application pretty often, just to amuse myself on the funny things you’re able to do with your friends or your friends’ avatar, to be more exact.

But hey, try staying in the house with nothing on the TV to watch and no more blogs to read cause you’ve read them just yesterday, see you’ll turn lame like me or not!

Sigh.

I need some real entertainment before I go nuts.

I’m just wondering.

How do you consider someone as a good friend?

Someone who clicks seriously well with you?

Or someone who has nothing in common with you, just being together feels comfortable?

Someone who agrees with everything you say?

Or someone who’s all in for debates with you over where the best Hokkien Mee is in the country?

Someone who knows what you’re thinking without having to tell it all out?

Or someone who has no clue about anything in the world even if you draw things out?

Well, I don’t know.

But I’m sure with really good friends, you can be yourself without having to worry about being judged.

Yes, you can take pictures with your middle finger at your cleavage and your dear friend thinks it’s the picture of the night.

And both of you actually enjoy acting like that while others may think you’re silly.

I’m constantly with them.

Not that they’re annoying or anything but it gets really boring after spending just an hour with them.

They make me feel extremely bad if I leave them aside for a while to attend to other stuffs.

And this had to become my favourite among them cause it’s extremely important for me to not lose it.

You see, I won’t be able to update for a couple of weeks cause they are making me feel extremely guilty already now.

I have to get back to them.

They’re not really what good friends should be so I won’t keep them for long.

I’ll get rid of them as soon as I can.

Every time the semester draws closer to its ending, finals would be the one you have to go through first.

So, end of semester also equals to examinations.

And to me, it also equals to new addictions.

First semester, I was still an angel and I concentrated in my revisions. Teehee.

Last semester (my second), I was addicted to a TVB drama.

This semester, I got addicted to nope, not another drama but something far worst.

This doesn’t have an ending.

You get over rounds after rounds, then the big boss and you think you’re finally done and over with until they give you a watering can and say you got a garden now!

If you noticed the lecture hall is extra nice and all (that is if you noticed lah), don’t think we usually get to attend classes in halls like this.

This is Dewan Kuliah (DK) 3 of Faculty of Economics and is extra nice, only open for special talks.

Our normal lecture halls are a bit older and we sit on wooden seats. No cushion one. But better also or else I will always sleep in class.

It was the fire drill last night this morning at around 2.30 onwards till about 4 plus.

I escaped from being at the open space and watch those firemen do their thing, but still, I didn’t get to sleep early.

Gosh. I so need to sleep. I’m on this bitchy annoyed mood I get annoyed at everything. Even annoyed at my phone for beeping.

Estos son mis diez motivos por los que repruebo la presencia del Gobierno vasco en el desfile de las fuerzas armadas de hoy, 12 de octubre, día de la Hispanidad:

1. Porque en el pasado, la entrada del ejército español en Euskadi (como en tantos otros sitios) sólo traía sufrimiento, y nadie ningún responsable de aquella serie de decisiones ha pedido perdón por aquello.

2. Porque desde mediados de los noventa, más de un político atrevido ha sugerido que podía ponerse en marcha la suspensión de la autonomía vasca y la entrada del ejército en el País Vasco si las iniciativas hacia un mayor autogobierno prosperaban. Usando, de este modo, al ejército como una medida de coacción.

3. Porque la última vez que el ejército español hizo unas maniobras en la CAV colocó una bandera española en la Cruz del Gorbea con los únicos argumentos de “que se jodan” y “porque seguro que a Patxi le va a encantar”.

4. Porque estoy en contra del ejército como concepto y de la fabricación y uso de armas: que se vendan ilegalmente a los que quieren hacer la guerra es lo que justifica la existencia de unas fuerzas armadas estatales.

5. Porque la única vez que los representantes de los vascos en el Congreso de los Diputados han ejercido su derecho y han pedido que el ejército (al que se paga por medio del cupo) proteja a los atuneros vascos, el Gobierno español se ha negado.

6. Porque Rodolfo Ares asiste, simplemente, porque no lo había hecho ningún representante del Gobierno vasco anteriormente, sin tener otra motivación plausible.

7. Porque eso supone actuar en contra de la mayoría social vasca, abertzale si se tiene en cuenta el número de votantes y no los escaños.

8. Porque supone un rendimiento, por un día, de la democracia a las fuerzas armadas y a los reyes de España, que hoy ocupan el espacio central.

9. Porque también desfilan los legionarios, fundados por un franquista y cuya actividad o necesidad no está clara.

10. Y porque se celebra el día de la Hispanidad, cuando comenzó la conquista, saqueo y masacre en América. No su descubrimiento: las ricas culturas precolombinas ya sabían que existían antes de que llegaran los españoles. Por cierto, en América este día pasa desapercibido.

Hellooo I’m now blogging from my university’s computer lab again!

The intention to come here was to do Microeconomics assignment’s draft as tomorrow’s the discussion and finished doing what I can already so can do other things now!

So, update update.. Hmm.. Where do I start from…

Okay, let’s start from my previous post.

To not offend anyone, let’s just say I’ve learned quite a few new things about the girls in my college.

I’ve always thought they were ladylike, gentle, polite and all but I was so, so, so wrong.

Now I know why people say a wise person doesn’t mess with a girl.

Ok lah, that one I say one lah. ;p

Next, my pile of assignments is finally getting smaller.

After 12 weeks of the first semester, I’m getting really worried about becoming a senior in the university now..

Work loads are seriously A FREAKING LOT MORE compared to the first year and I hope it won’t be that much anymore in my final year.

It was the Mooncake Festival celebration in my college last Thursday but unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures with me yet so bear with me till I get them from Belle kay?

What else, what else…

Lebaran sangat identik dengan mudik, ritual tahunan ciri khas bangsa ini yang entah sejak kapan muncul. Sangat mengesankan jika membayangkan dahulu kala, nenek moyang kita selalu kembali ke kampung halaman setelah setahun merantau. Seperti kebanyakan rakyat Indonesia, saya pun sangat menikmati dan bahkan menunggu-nunggu momen tersebut. Mari jujur pada diri sendiri, berapa kali dalam setahun Anda bertemu dan berkumpul dengan sanak saudara, baik dekat maupun jauh?

Kalau untuk saya, memang hanya Lebaran inilah yang menjadi magnet penarik seluruh saudara untuk berkumpul di suatu titik, menyatukan elegi dan hati. Tentu, keadaan ini akan sangat lain jika banyak saudara kita yang tinggal berdekatan atau bahkan serumah. Reuni keluarga besar bisa jadi sangat sering dilakukan.

Sebenarnya, apa sih tujuan mudik itu? Jawaban pasti akan beragam. Ada yang hanya ingin mengisi liburan, mengunjungi saudara yang sudah lama tak bertemu, bertemu teman lama, ataupun kumpul keluarga besar. Kalau ditarik benang merahnya, inti dari semua itu adalah silaturahmi. Menyambung kembali tali yang putus atau mengencangkan kembali sisi yang longgar adalah hikmah silaturahmi yang kalau dipahami lebih dalam, sangat luar biasa. Saya yakin masing-masing pribadi memiliki pengalaman dan kesan tersendiri tentang makna silaturahmi.

Perjalanan sampai ke kampung halaman tentu memerlukan pengorbanan, mulai dari waktu, biaya, tenaga, bahkan nyawa!. Nyawa? Ya, tentu tidak ada orang yang mau meninggalkan dunia pada salah satu momen terbaik sepanjang tahun. Namun, di sisi lain, fakta berkata lain. Masih banyak kecelakaan terjadi yang memanggil ‘dewa kematian’.

Mudik tahun 2009 ini, tercatat ada sekitar seribu seratusan kecelakaan. Memang, menurun sekitar 20% dari jumlah tahun lalu yang sekitar seribu tiga ratusan. Angka yang meninggal pun ikut sedikit menurun, dari 600-an menjadi 500-an korban. Catatan yang masih merah. Lalu, siapa yang mau disalahkan?

Sangat naif terus ‘mengkambinghitamkan’ takdir. Berkata, ini kehendak Sang Kuasa. Kenyataan di lapangan, semrawut! Perbaikan memang selalu ditingkatkan tapi banyak celah yang tak seakan tak bisa ditutupi. Sebagai contoh, infrastruktur jalan yang kurang memadai, rambu lalu lintas bisa dibilang pas pasan, koordinasi penyelenggara yang tak maksimal, dan masih ada lagi beberapa. Kebanyakan pemudik juga sama saja, memaksakan diri dan kerap ugal-ugalan. Kalau sudah begitu, tidak hanya mereka yang rugi, tapi orang-orang di sekitarnya. Apatis. Egois.

Angkutan umum yang tak bisa diandalkan membuat kendaraan pribadi menjadi favorit, terutama tentu saja sepeda motor. Cepat, praktis, murah, tapi keselamatan? Nanti dulu. 95% kecelakaan yang terjadi melibatkan sepeda motor. Ironis? Tidak juga. Membawa motor ke kampung halaman bagi sebagian orang merupakan lambang kesuksesan peras keringat di ibukota. Cicilan belum lunas itu urusan belakang, yang penting emak dan abah di kampung bisa bangga anaknya punya kendaraan sendiri. Miris, keinginan besar bertemu keluarga justru berakhir di liang lahat. Tak sedikit korban meninggal mengenaskan, namanya juga kecelakaan, entah kaki dan tangan berada di mana. Yang jelas, raga sudah pergi, mungkin ia menangis melihat jasadnya dari atas sana.

Maut itu tidak perlu didatangi, kalau sudah waktunya, nanti dia juga datang sendiri. Berharaplah ia datang dengan cara yang sangat baik sehingga raga pun tenang melepas jiwa. Mudah-mudahan mereka yang sudah pergi mendapat jalan yang lapang oleh-Nya dan malaikat pencabut nyawa benar-benar libur saat lebaran tahun depan tiba.

I am here cause I don’t know what to do and I just ate Maggie so I don’t want to sleep yet.

So, this random thought hit me just now.

Why some people has got Kim-Kardashian-kind-of-life but mine is so simple, it’s near to get-a-new-life-cause-yours-is-freeeaaaaking-boring?

Hehe. Not that random actually.

I met up with Yean few days ago and we talked about our high school friends and some not friends.

Some are doing the Medicine programme, some Law, some Dentistry, some Accountancy, some are fashion designers, some are cops, some are proud mothers, etc…

Thing is, when she asked me about me (yes ME), I didn’t know how to answer her.

Cause to be really honest, I am leading the life any ordinary not-so-well-to-do parents would plan for their child to live.

Serious.

Maybe I passed the rebel phase so I don’t really want to go against my parents like taking drugs, sleeping with random guys, etc, and so, I end up doing very normal stuffs.

Like waking up in the afternoon late morning, then going to class, then rush assignments, tutorials, presentations, then going back to college and do normal stuffs like eating and sleeping.

And when holiday comes, everything is the same, except for the class and college part.

What happened to those days where I go out everyday with the BFFs?

What happened to those days when I get so excited about clubbing?

What happened to those days when I get butterflies in my stomach when a cute guy turns and smile at me?

Okay lah, the cute guy part never did happen but you get my point, right?

Gosh. I feel so boring now.

I don’t even feel excited listening to LeeHom’s songs.

What happen???

And why do I sound like a 30 year old when I’m only 21???

Suddenly random thought become sad thought pulak.

Today started off with a very bad joke.

I skipped the morning class again cause I had some assignments pending and the due date was today plus I was still exhausted even though I slept for more than 7 hours.

Then my course mate texted me saying the lecturer caught me skipping cause she was reading out the names.

I freaked out of course cause I’m chicken like that wtf not used to being caught by teachers or lecturers for doing something wrong.

But when I sat back and think about it again, I had a feeling they were playing a prank on me.

And I was right. sheesh.

At that moment, I felt so terribly bad and I was like thinking it must be some wake up call or something for me and I vowed to not skip anymore classes this semester.

Okay fine, this week at least.

But here I am, back in the room though I’m supposed to go for my Sociology lecture and tutorial.

Thing is, I really don’t see a point in attending certain classes.

For instance, Statistics.

This year’s Statistics been full of nothing but nonsense.

The lecturer reads from the slides, literally and is not even able to explain to us the correct answer if we asked her a question.

She would always say, “Just refer to your notes and text books.”

I know, we are university students and we shouldn’t be spoon fed anymore but it’s annoying to know that you purposely wake up in the morning to go for such lectures.

I mean, if all I’m getting is, “Just refer your notes and book”, might as well I sleep in and read on my own.

What’s the point of attending the lecture, right?

Then Statistics tutorial.

Gosh, my tutor just browse through the soft copy and if we tell him to slow down as we’re trying to catch what is written, he’ll say, “Don’t copy. I’m giving you the soft copy later.”

wtf.

What is the point I ask you, to attend to such classes.

Just read the notes on my own and download the answers, right?

And they say their vision is to produce first class mentality students/graduates.

Should they do something about their educators first?

How are we going to be first class mentality people when the ones who are educating us are like that?

You tell me lah, how.

I’m back, again to rant here.

I’m starting to feel bad cause all I seem to blog about are complaints after complaints.

Thing is, I haven’t got the time to settle my photo-problem at flickr so I’m putting all the picture post on hold.

Be patient ya my dear readers.:)

I’ve got a one week holiday coming up so I’ll probably get it done that time.

Anyway, things are pretty hectic lately.

And in a not-so-good way.

Many people around me are feeling really tensed and stressed out due to the workload and commitments lately.

It is only normal for me to try help them solve their matters when I see them feeling so stressed out.

But unfortunately, this time I’m tied down with commitments myself, too.

I am still able to juggle with my studies and other commitments at the moment but not until the extent of helping others do theirs as it’s just out of my limitations.

Confusing?

Yeah, I’m a little confused, too with what I’m saying. swt.

But point is, I can’t sit in and help the ones around me with their problems and I feel really sorry.

I know how some would say, “Mind your own business. They need to go through all this on their own.”

But how can you stand to sit back and watch them break down?

And when you talk to them, all they can ever do is to respond with a weak smile cause they’re already so tired from all the work.

Responding with a weak smile is a bonus.

Sometimes all I get is silence as my dear friend’s thoughts wandered elsewhere again. I assume they went to the deadlines and workload again.

Best I could do is to keep smiling, I guess.
