This particular photo is the only one in the set that showcases a coat-with-skirt outfit. Why would the photographer get so offended by a long, ankle-skimming skirt? Maybe it’s because it was blowing in the wind a little bit, and his repressed brain went off the rails. Anyway, a dolman-sleeve black tunic is worn with a white Bohemian-style skirt with black patterns, orange scarf, and flower-printed canvas flats for a very vintage 2005-style outfit. On the left is a classic black trench and jeans outfit, with a beige scarf draped low, Converse-style shoes, and a flower/diamond-printed bag.

Whether coming or going, these manteau styles are effective and pleasant. Coming are two redheads in stylish tunics, one black with cranberry-colored scarf and the other one faded red with a red patterned pashmina and very short sleeves. Actually, her tunic looks almost exactly like my own red manteau (they both have short, above the elbow sleeves), only mine is of a deep crimson shade and has a belt. Going are a blond-haired older lady in black and white rhombus-printed dress manteau and jeans and a younger lady (her daughter?) in a black coat, jeans, flip-flops, and a white open scarf to show her long dark hair.

Ah yes, the rectangular poncho manteau, the classic triangular poncho’s less common cousin, so visible in 2009-2010, is still around! This girl elevates it to perfection- her black rectangular fringed poncho coat is worn with skinny black pants, black flat shoes, and a black scarf lifted off a dark red hairstyle glistening beautifully in the sun! This is one of the most gorgeous styles in this whole collection!

This close-up shot aims to criticize the 3 women’s hair as well as the fitting of the manteau one of them. Well, I aim to praise it- so you idiots who hate it have failed miserably! There is a grey dress manteau worn with a white scarf, huge shades, and a long fringe of dark brown hair flowing out the front. Note this woman’s heavy gold watch and HUGE turquoise ring- she is very wealthy. Then there is a classic beige tunic with some sort of rainbow-colored top underneath worn with a graffiti-printed scarf (something that I personally haven’t seen since 2001 here) which proudly reveals beautiful blond hair. Finally there is the double combo of a gorgeous silk plaid Burberry print scarf showing off blond hair (even though it is tied high under the chin, just like in 2003-05) and, yes, a beige manteau with a gold-buckled belt on the high waist AND a rouched panel on the chest, which give a dramatic tightening effect around the breasts. The lady seems older, yet even she knows how sexy manteau style is, and I love that she affirms it!

Nothing too interesting in this close-up- black manteaus are worn with two different scarves- a black rectangular one and a silk printed square one, yet both are worn as needed, showing off beautiful hair. I do like the huge cluster ring on the girl on the right.

And I’ve thrown in one more Burberry scarf from 2010 (taken from Tooring 260) for good measure! This one is a silk scarf with black edging and is worn fully open over a pretty auburn short hairstyle with a fairly long classic black manteau, jeans, and black shoes with white edging. I like that the manteau hem is cut very high so that all of her jeans are visible, even though the coat is longer than usual.

This picture shows the entire width of the store window, with both snowmen now in sight. The second half of the window features more conventional trench coats, although the brown one is quite short, and the one on the very left has a fur collar with two crisscrossing halves creating a low neckline. A woman in a white parka manteau, worn with black pants, Adidas sneakers, and a white scarf lifting up a chestnut hairstyle, walks past, a living example of utilitarian manteau style, contrasting the glamorous style in the store window.

Here, a couple embraces on a park bench with the woman wearing a white Burberry print plaid scarf. It almost seems like they’re about to kiss, while the 3 girls watching them are urging them on! The three girls rock good manteaus as well, with scarves pushed all the way back, skinny jeans, and Converse-style sneakers.

This couple walks defiantly hand in hand, with the man looking elegant and the woman exhibiting amazing manteau style. Her white coat is well fitted to her figure, stylish with its round buttons, shawl collar, and elbow-length sleeves. A yellow pashmina with a black lace strip is worn loose to show off a tall cone of dark red hair pinned up off her forehead and her earrings. Rings, a rhinestone-encrusted watch, and a crocodile-skin black handbag with gold closures add to her modern sophisticated style!

This brand new 2011 photo shows a woman looking at architecture books at a book fair, wearing a black trench coat with a black and fuchsia silk scarf. Note that the scarf is lifted by what looks like a combination of a tall hairstyle and flower clip, and is worn semi-open (you can see underneath it).

At a food fair from earlier this year, two women are looking at various nuts and dried fruits. The girl in the black trench coat is more physically beautiful, with her honey blond hair framing her face, but the girl in the grey, tightly fitted (buttons are popping here for sure) manteau has the upper hand with her black scarf revealing all of her auburn hair, her shiny black bag, and her heavy Northern-style make-up!

I am not sure if this woman is pregnant or if it is just her pose. She wears a plaid manteau with black sleeves with a classic Burberry pattern silk scarf with black edging (and it looks like there is a bag with the same pattern next to her). This picture is from a flower expo, most likely from 2010.

Another flower expo pic shows a beautiful young mother with her baby strapped to her chest, wearing a daring brown tunic with 3/4-length sleeves and slits up the hip exposing her entire beige cargo pants and a white scarf with silver circle patterns, worn draped over short black hair. Her tunic reminds me SO much of my grown tunic, only mine doesn’t have those awesome slits!

At a telecommunications expo (not sure if these are 2010 or 2011), this woman wears a bright red manteau with plaid Burberry-style cuffs, white pants, red keds, and a bright yellow flower-printed scarf with her blonde fringe showing stylishly!

The best photo from that same telecom expo is definitely this one. With a bright background of hot air balloons (not sure why exactly), a woman walks in a fitted black manteau with what looks like a hood, her waist cinched tightly with a brown leather belt so that the coat can emphasize the figure! She wears jeans and low-heeled black shoes, and her bright blue scarf perches on top of a towering curly hairstyle! Now this is great manteau style for sure!

The black and white dress manteau, worn at the same exhibition, is long (below the knee), just like those vintage 2003-05 coats, worn with jeans, sneakers, and a black scarf pushed back over a wavy auburn ponytail. Both outfits are great, in my opinion!

This is such a hot look, with a long forest green sweater manteau worn with a plaid silk scarf over rolled up jeans. I also adore the open scarf on the blonde wearing the super-short black silk tunic!

..and this one with red edging is worn with a stylish black manteau with an asymmetrical ruffled hem!

Just some classic Burberry silk scarves with black coats, much like I wear mine (on the shoulders)….

The latest one is this wool fringed one, worn over a glamorous red hairstyle with a beige manteau.

And these are my two favorites because these were the first 2 manteau style pics I saw with this scarf (and the reason why I bought mine)!

This is the other way to represent modern manteau style- the more conventional in some ways, but in my opinion, much more classy and sexy style. Short black trench coats are fitted to show off the figure. Jeans are either worn tight or tucked into tall, high-heeled boots to draw attention to the lower body! I especially adore how the beautiful Burberry pattern scarf on the left thrusts a gorgeous wave of honey-blond hair into the gaze of the passer-by, making the outfit memorable. Finely sculpted eyebrows and beautiful make-up (as shown by the brunette with the red knit scarf) focus male attention and give glamour to the outfits.

I love all manteau styles, but for my personal version of this fashion, I definitely prefer the latter!

P.S. At the end of June, I will go away for a much-needed vacation for about 10 days. Therefore, on some days in June before I leave, there may be more than one post. I will return in early July.
