Wenn man im Bus oder im Zug sitzt, auf etwas wartet, oder gerade auf dem Heimweg ist, dann ist die beste Möglichkeit, Zeit totzuschlagen eindeutig Gaming. Wenn man dann noch seine liebsten Retro-Titel unterwegs zocken kann, dann fängt der Spaß erst so richtig an. Ich liste euch heute ein paar meiner Retro to go Games auf.

Dragonball Z Buu's Fury

Mein erster Tip ist gleichzeitig ein Geheimtipp. Mit Dragonball Z Buu’s Fury ist nämlich eines meiner liebsten GBA Spiele erschienen. Das tolle Action Kampfsystem mit den Rollenspielelementen und der Dragonball Saga rund um Buu macht diesen Titel für mich zu einen wirklichen Hit. Ich habe viel Zeit mit diesem Titel verbracht, auch nach dem Story Ending war es spaßig, die Charaktere hochzuleveln, die Welten noch ein bisschen zu erforschen und neue Fertigkeiten zu lernen. Sehr cool: Man kann zwischen allen Dragonball Z Charakteren, die in diesem Teil der Saga tätig sind, spielen und wechseln nach Lust und Laune.

Final Fantasy IV Advance

Ein weiteres Rollenspiel darf hier in diesem Artikel dabei sein. Dabei handelt es sich um Final Fantasy IV Advance, welches ich schon seit SNES Zeiten gut kenne. Damals hat mich das Spiel schon begeistert, heute laufe ich noch gerne mit dem Gameboy Advance herum und spiel den Teil. Busfahrten werden so nie langweilig und auch der ein oder andere Sitznachbar ist sofort still und schaut gespannt auf dem Bildschirm um die sofort ergreifende Story mitzubekommen, oder die toll gemachten Kämpfe mitzuverfolgen.

Klar, es gibt noch viele andere Final Fantasy’s auf dem GBA, aber die müssen nicht alle genannt werden. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance etc. sind alles wirklich gute Titel, aber das hier ist einfach das beste Handheld Game der Reihe!

Mega Drive Collection (PSP)

Um auch eine gelungene Collection zu erwähnen, bringen wir diese mit ein. Schon allein die zwei Phantasy Stars (II und IV) berechtigen den Kauf dieser Collection allemal. Die anderen Titel sind auch wirklich gut. Wer mehr Info’s zu den einzelnen Titeln will, sollte einfach auf Amazon nachschauen…

Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow

Auf sämtlichen Handhelds ist Castlevania nun schon erschienen, aber auf keinem konnte es mich mehr überzeugen. Aria of Sorrow ist eines der wenigen Titel, dass die Elemente von Videospielen so gut verbindet wie sonst. Die RPG Elemente und das gut umgesetzte Metroidvania Prinzip, sowie die Liebe zum Detail seitens Konami machen den Titel unheimlich gut. Man spielt ausnahmsweise keinen Belmont und peitscht auch nicht in der Gegend herum, stattdessen sammelt man verschiedene Waffen und Seelen und läuft im Schloss von Graf Drakula umher, besiegt gigantische Bossgegner und erkundet die Umgebung.

Meiner Meinung nach eignet dieser Teil sich sowohl für lange als auch für kurze Sessions, da man jederzeit in Speicherräumen sein Spiel absichern kann, jedoch auch einfach fortfahren kann.

The Legend of Zelda - The Minish Cap

Schade dass ich Minish Cap erst jetzt nachhole. Denn hätte ich dieses Zelda Abenteuer früher gekannt, wäre ich wohl öfter mit dem früheren Bus gefahren,  um dann vor der Schule sitzend Zelda zu spielen. Stattdessen darf ich jetzt daheim spielen, weil ansonsten keine Zeit für das langwierige Adventure bleibt.

Ich habe übrigens bewusst zu Minish Cap gegriffen, da mir dieser Teil von den Handheld Zelda’s am besten gefallen hat, neben Phantom Hourglass. Aber Phantom Hourglass ist noch kein Retro Game, von daher…

Pokémon - Silberne Edition

Diese Videospielreihe prägte mein Leben als Gamer. Dank ihr spiele ich jetzt Rollenspiele, durch sie hab’ ich lesen gelernt und mit ihr gehe ich gerne auch heute noch aus dem Haus. Zwar nehme ich, um nicht mit dem klobigen Kultklumpen Gameboy aufzufallen, lieber meinen GBA mit, allerdings kann es schon oft passieren, dass genau dieses Spiel im Slot steckt. Die unheilmich gute Spielmechanik packt einen unheimlich gut, man kann allerdings auch jederzeit speichern und dann ausschalten.

From noon till seven at night, some of the ladies were busy at work cooking up a storm for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks to modern science time-saving, much of it was NOT as difficult as we anticipated (though the turkey, named Jerome, was a bit more work than the instructions promised).

It was a tiring Saturday afternoon/evening, but a cozy communal venture into Thanksgiving tradition and general girl bonding! A great kick-off to a season of reflecting especially on all the things for which I give thanks.

Hablando seriamente, recomento esto de que mis planes parecen destinados a satisfacer a algunos lectores para que se rían de mis histrionismos y demás paridas. Vida imitando al arte imitando a la vida, o algo así. Pero bueno, sobreactuar y construír mi guión de vida es una de mis actividades predilectas.

¿A qué viene esto?

Obviamente, está relacionado con IV (volví a soñar con ella hoy, por cierto, y se me acaba de olvidar qué locurón era…Pero si al levantarme me acordaba…) Todo el plan nuevo que se me ocurrió se asienta sobre la base de “cómo meterme de alguna manera en SU vida” sin entrar directamente con el.. con el… con el %#$& “creo que me atraes”. Esto se basa en otra de mis aficiones que compagino con los sueños, el uso de lo subliminal. Yendo al grano…

…me pasaré toda las putas tardes que IV vaya a Y lugar sentado en cierto sitio que los más atentos y eumeses podrán adivinar, 5 minutos antes de que IV tenga que ir a Y lugar. El objetivo es que la vea venir y en ese momento me levante y me la cruce (uséase, que me cruce, porque malpensando puede ser algo MUY doloroso) Yo creo que si sacrifico un poco la tarde y me invento un plan tipo estudiar en la bilbio municipal y no subirme hasta casa de matao… (además que mis padres se olerán algo chungo) También depende de cuánto sacrificio suponga. Total, seguro que a la tercera vez de hacerlo me canso y le suelto la frase Made in Rafa del curso 2009-2010 por excelencia.

Mezclando las dos palabras clave de antes, me di cuenta que es probable que, subliminalmente, sacara la idea de esta parte de la película Cinema Paradiso (cine, a su vez, dentro del cine y peliculón) Aquí va el cuentecito que da nombre al primer título del post:

P.D.2: al motorista fantasma de la clase, Adrián (www.elchavaldelamoto.wordpress.com si es que se vacila a sí mismo), se le pasó el calentón de “no me hables” de ayer por descubrirle la contraseña del msn y demás (no me hacía mucha ilu saberla, pero ver su acojone fue la rechele, mejor que la cara de Eugene Levy al comienzo de Vacation) El chaval no pudo evitar decirle a María, la profesora que dirige el EDNL de centro, que convenciera a IV (“la amiga de Rafa”) para que leyera poemas. Realmente pico a Adrián para que sea un alcahuete sin saberlo (reíros venga, mirad mi ingenuidad) En serio, hace dos años escogimos poemas para leer enfrente de medio insti (porque el salón de actos no da para más) y ahora nos vino con que este curso SÍ que vamos a leerlos. ENCIMA ningún tío tipo Adrián o David van a recitarlos. ENCIMA en San Valentín (bueno, yo los canto por Mauro, que está de mayoría de edad ese día, y no pasa nada)

MOST.  AWESOME.  GAME.  Ever ….

Anyone who has ever played this game…. SNES, perhaps?… will know what I’m saying. Better than Myst. Better than Nethack (I just keep dying). Better than Sims. Arguments can commence now, but in my experience… FFIV is the most enjoyable game I’ve ever played.

So much so that I’m searching a working SNES console and the original cartridge for FFII. on eBay of course. A few years ago, you could find a SNES for $20. Now, I think it’s going for over $50. A hefty sum for an outdated system.

Anyway, Final Fantasy II or IV (as released on the Nintendo DS with updated graphics) has an amazing storyline with the most memorable characters ever. Remember when Cecil becomes a Paladin? Remember Palom and Parom? Kain? Tellah? Rosa? Rydia? I wanted to name my future child Rydia when I was 7 years old. And of course… the Chocobos.

Oh, yeah… and the music is absolutely phenomenal.

I can’t get into the story because there is too much and to talk about it wouldn’t do it justice. Playing the game, however, would. Just watch this video:

SNES Final Fantasy IV Introduction

Do not install the new patch for Rockstar’s GTA IV for pc.  This patch caused nothing but problems with my computer.  When it installed the setup actually deleted a lot of fonts right out of the Window’s fonts folder, so a lot of programs suffered from missing texts.  Online play doesn’t work(well it doesn’t unless you update either).  Lets just say I payed $50 for this !@#! game, and then Rockstar !@#!s up the online play and doesn’t want to !@#!ing fix it.  Good job Rockstar.

No tenía ganas ni nada de poder parodiar el título la peli de Adrian Lyne.

Me di cuenta de algo anoche, que se me ocurren locurones que pienso llevar a cabo y que a la mañna siguiente desecho por estúpidos. Ayer tuve uno. Después soñé otra vez con IV (ya empezamos la fase enfermiza, a un año del “me encanta verte…”)

El caso es que esta mañana llegué tarde a clase. Bueno, por los pelos, más bien. A mí esto me la trae floja, si bien me desespera un poco. Pero no me comparéis, a IV no la veo tanto por clase como a Ella y mi obsesión es menor (ya sé que debía ser al revés) Yo creo que a IV no la aprecio tanto o algo así, y sin embargo sueño más con ella.

Mientras entraba en el centro, vi la diminuta figura de IV venir hacia el insti. Me demoré un poco en mi trayecto, hasta compartir escalera con ella. La próxima vez que pase eso va frase Made in Rafa fijo.

A todo esto, ya empiezo con la locura de que me devuelve la mirada en los recreos. A ver si entre mi plan, lo de compartir escalera “por casualidad” los próximos días y demás chapuzadas, empieza a sospechar.

También creí que Ella me devolvía miradas (no porque le atrajera, animales, si no porque yo era un descarado) y ni pa’ Dios lo hacía.

En fin, disculpen el estúpi-artículo.

Que no, que no, que os quiero.

Just today, I received (what I thought) was my Xbox 360 back from Microsoft’s repair. I waited for it today after getting a notification from UPS. I excitedly signed the electronic notepad thing that you can never get your real signature down on, and took the package in!

I opened it up, and was surprised at the fact that there was a faceplate on it, as I had removed the faceplate (it’s part of sending a 360 in for repair). I read the document that came with it, and I was even more surprised to find out that I had received an entirely new console! They say they wanted to get me my system earlier, though I have the feeling that they were being a little lazy with repairing my original console. Anyway, at least I got it back a few weeks earlier than I expected, and new warranty, and a firmware update, and a months-worth of free Xbox Live Gold Membership (I’d use it if I could figure out why I can’t get connected to the network!). And I could get back to playing GTA IV, one of my favorite games for the 360, and will now be buying Episodes From Liberty City, which includes the two downloadable episodes for GTA IV (remember, I can’t get connected to live. And I want Vice City FM!).

So, that’s it. I guess I’ll be busy playing GTA IV for tonight. Not much else will be happening this week, other than going to Sears this Friday to pick up my new glasses (those were also finished earlier than I expected! How cool!).

A few weeks ago I posted Street Fighter in 15 Pixels and that blew me away. Today I found this awesome mix-up of Street Fighter IV fighters rendered in 8-bit based off of Megaman. SpeedBrkr on the Capcom forums really did a detailed job. Hats off to you!

Primero lo primero, soy fan de la franquicia de GTA, desde que jugué el primero en el PSone, he jugado y terminado todas las entregas con excepción de las que salieron para portatiles.

Obviamente he disfrutado algunas entregas más que otras, hablado de estas últimas, refiriendome a GTAIV, y sus dos capitulos descargables (o físicos si compran el disco´”episodes of liberty city” ya a la venta ),debo mencionar que este ultimo capitulo TBOGT es el que más me ha gustado.

Este  es el capitulo final de GTAIV y cierra la historia de los diamantes robados que son el hilo argumental que liga las historias de Niko Bellic, Johny Kleibitz y el nuevo protagonista Luis López.

Hablando de los personajes, les puedo mencionar que Rockstar sigue por la linea que ha marcado en sus últimas entregas y todos los personajes estan muy trabajados y logran hacer que te involucres con ellos, haciendote odiar a unos y amar a otros, sobre todo por la carga de humor negro caracteristica de la serie.

SEXO DROGAS Y ROCK & ROLL   MÚSICA ELÉCTRONICA

En ese orden, es el GTA con más carga y contenido sexual (sin tomar en cuenta el infame Hotcoffe de GTA:SA)que han hecho hasta ahora,en las primeras 2 horas de juego mi personaje Luis Lopez tuvo encuentros sexuales con 4 mujeres diferentes en el juego (maldita sea me muero de la envidia)y estos son digamos que ….suficientemente explicitos.

Existen varias misiones secundarias, incluidas;  guerras de bandas de narcotraficantes,  salto en paracaidas (nueva adición) y carreras de triatlon donde empiezas saltando en paracaidas directo a una carrera en lanchas y seguida por carrera en autos, peleas clandestinas y los minijuegos ya conocidos incluido uno nuevo de golf.

Toda la ambientación de la historia se desarrolla en torno a los Clubes Nocturnos de los que es dueño Tony Prince (Gay Tony),uno de ellos es etero y el otro es homosexual, en estos clubes existen tambien minijuegos de baile, shots o como los conocemos aqui mupets y competencias de beber champagne, o hacerla de sacaborrachos.

Existen armas y vehiculos nuevos y limpiaron un poco las gráficas. El gameplay principal es el que ya conocemos, manejo, disparos y peleas cuerpo a cuerpo con las altas y bajas ya conocidas.

No quiero contarles mucho de la historía por que es parte de lo mejor que tiene GTA, solo puedo decirles que el gran protagonista es Liberty City y Niko, Jonhy y Luis son solo parte de ella, por que este juego es basto como el solo,es realmente abrumador el cuidado a los detalltes de esta ciudad y todo lo que ella encierra definitivamente un must si te gusta GTA y si no te gusta te puedo comentar que este capítulo tinene más accion que los anteriores, no dura tanto y tiene un muy buen sistema de checkpoints que no te obliga a repetir toda la misión si fallas en algún momento,además de la nueva adición de poder repetir cualquier misión en el momento que quieras. En pocas palabras sino te gusta GTA tambien es un must.

I don’t care who you are, having surgery’s never a day at the park for anybody.  

There’s the whole starving yourself after midnight until your stomach decides to eat itself right before you get cut open,

the repeating of your name and birthdate over and over to a bazillion different nurses and doctors,

the oh-so-sexy surgical socks that make you feel like a total eighty-five year old lady,

the paper thin hospital gown that makes you feel even more like an eighty-five year old lady,

the humiliation of having to walk around to the bathroom with your ass peeking out of said paper-thin gown,

the nurse who pokes the shit out of your hand to insert the iv and discovers that she’s gonna have to also poke the shit out of your other hand as well,

the glaring lights of the operating room that make you feel like you’re on a billboard in Vegas,

the leftover bitterness of the anesthesia in your mouth that tastes like you’ve been eating hubcaps for breakfast,

the recovery nurse who speaks very little to no recognizable sounds of English and tries to give you a run-down of what to expect,

the woman in the bed next to you who won’t shut the hell up and then pukes in a bag and tells everyone about it,

the nurse who comes to check your vitals who’s apparently dipped herself in a vat of the most putrid-smelling perfume ever to be bottled and sold,

the frustration of following suit from the patient in the bed next to you and vomiting into a stack of paper towels in your own husband’s hands,

the stomach churning of having to suck on rabbit turd-shaped ice cubes that seem to have been frozen from sewer water,

the waiting around on pins and needles (literally) to decide if you’re gonna get kicked to the curb or not,

and finally, the robotic orderly who can’t even manage to say two words to you when he wheels you out and does, in fact, kick you to the curb.

However, once you can lay your head down on your own pillow in your own bed and sleep away the awfulness of the day, it feels like a little slice of heaven that you have most definitely earned.

Ya decía yo que el encontrarme de nuevo a la supuesta hermana de La del Cine en el mismísmo cine estaba preparado. Pero antes de seguir persiguiendo niñas pequeñas, había que confirmar algo.

Así que, hoy, mientras salía a velocidades considerables del insti (IV a veces sale por la parte trasera del edificio y demás…) me encontré con la hermana de una de mi clase, que fue al cine aquel día y a quien puteaban con relación a mí (jóvenes preadolescentes, tócate los cojones) Aún a riesgo de hacerle sufrir un infarto al verme dirigiéndole la palabra, le pregunté algo tipo: “Oye, eres ______”. Como me conoce de vista, de conocer a su hermana y por aquello de “jaja, el gran Rospo te gusta como a todo el mundo” (de hecho, ella misma me saludó haciendo la coña de aquel día), me dijo que no era quién yo decía.

O sea, que me putea hasta una niña de 12 años. Bueno, conozco a un tío de mi edad que aparenta más y que “salió” (ya sabéis mi opinión sobre los llamados “líos”) con una niña así… A él le dedico estos versos:

Nótese el jocoso juego de palabras.

Ella me negó que fuera quien yo decía, así que, a lo vengativo, pasé de seguir hablándole. FUe cuando se arrepintió y respondió que sí, era la que buscaba. Le pregunté si aquel día en el ODeón iba con una tal _____ y contestó que no. Después, creyendo que le decía eso por algo relacionado con lo que le comentaban sus amigas sobre mí, negó que fuera verdad eso de que le atraigo (repito, tócate los cojones) Le dije que no fuera por eso (me sentiría cabroncetemente bien si eso le causara algún impacto, y no porque la niña me resultara repelente) y me fui. A Isma ya le comenté que tenía que hacerlo tarde o temprano. Y que quería ir pronto hacia casa de mis abuelos y prescindir de ver a IV (para sonar peliculero, añadí: “¿Para qué?”. En cierto modo, ver a IV a la salida es mucho menos prometedor que cuando esperaba a la salida de Ella. Una va con amigas, otra solía salir sola. ¿Para qué sigo?)

No acepto del todo la negativa de esta niña, pero sabrá ella el nombre de su amiga mejor que yo. La del Cine es algo pasado más que nunca, aún así, si alguna vez logro ver su coche (es imposible que sólo lo viera una vez además de la del día de mi declaración de intenciones) o si la veo, la saludo/espero por mis muertos. Es más, en el raro caso de que se olvidara de mí, se lo recuerdo. Por hacer el cabrón. Es que soy un cabrón… je,je

Resident Evil 5 can be summed up in one word. Eh.

As games go it is pretty good, but compared to Resident Evil 4?  Resident Evil 4 was awesomely terrifying, extremly exciting, nearly impossibly challanging, and definitly engaging.  Resident Evil 5 is none of these things.  Me and my friend (efebountyhunter, or efe for short), have played it to the end, and have not been afraid, excited, chalanged, or engaged. 

There is little suspense, none at all compared to Resident Evil 4.  Who can forget the terror of the Regenerator?  The burning man?  That huge-ass crocodile that eats you if you stand on the dock to long?

Resident Evil 4 boasted bosses that could kill you, El Gigante, Salazar, Krauzer, the Chainsaw sisters.  The first boss in Res 5 was killed by me and Efe in around 3 minutes of rather boring combat.  It only managed to get one hit on me, none on Efe, and that was only becuase I decided to sacrafice my health to blow something up right next to it.

The other bosses are similarily non-terrifing or challanging, mostly they are just tiring, or simply annoying.

In summary, Resident Evil 5 is good, but I was expecting excellent or better from the Resident Evil brand, and I was sorely disappointed.

Oh, and they got rid of the merchant.  How could I possibly like the game after they did that?

On November 8, 2008, I was invloved in a very terrible accident. I had just stopped at the stop sign, looked both ways mulitple times, and when i didn’t see anyone I went on across the rode. As I was going across the rode I heard a weird noise, so I looked to my right. When I looked to my right a SUV was coming at me at full speed. I didn’t know what to do. I tried stopping and even tried going in the other direction but before I knew it we were hit. I passed out as soon as the car hit my car. When I woke up the car was spinning. It went around three times before it came to a complete stop. All I could remember was that we were hit, I could hear Emma and Heather crying, I remember seeing blood everywhere, and I remember thinking that the car was on fire because there was smoke everywhere (I later found out that it was from the air bags). My chest and face was hurting so bad that I thought I was not going to make it. I started to panic. I felt trapped and Heather wasn’t crying anymore and she wasn’t moving. I thought she was dead. By the time I put my thoughts together and tried to get out of the seat belt, a man was at the window and he told me not to move. It was a fire man and he didn’t want me to move because he didn’t know how bad I was hurt. I closed my eyes for a second and said a quick prayer asking God to help us. When I opened them back up my door was opened and they took us all out of the car. Heather and I were strapped to a board and put in an ambulance. Her daughter Emma and her little friend were so scared to go in the ambulance that the firemen took them in their truck to the hospital. Once I got to the hospital they rushed me to a hospital bed and started checkiing my vitals and putting in IVs, and running all types off test on me. My heart rate was so high that they were talking about keeping me overnight. I was so scared. I didn’t have my phone and they kept calling me Jane Doe because I wasn’t talking to them. Everything was going so fast. It was like a ER show that I always watch. They gave me multiple doses of pain meds and none of them were working. I was crying but in my head I was praying. Things got worse when I found out that everyone else that was in the car with me was at a different hospital. My heart rate went up again and they kept telling me to calm down, but at that moment I could not. I can remember getting some relief when I heard my phone ringing. It seemed like everyone was calling me at the same time. They did not know what was going on but maybe I was on there mind. The nurses told me that they couldn’t answer my phone in the trauma room so when my phone stopped ringing they asked me if they could call someone for me to let them know what happened and to see who can come and be with me. I tried one friend but she wasn’t availiable and then I tried another friend and her and her mom came down to the hospital. One of the nurses told me to try and stand up. I was complining about my leg hurting but the test showed that it wasn’t broken so she wanted me to try and walk. She explained to me that if I walk I won’t have to sleep at the hospital. Of course I made myself walk even though I was in pain. They ended up releasing me a couple of hours later and gave me prescriptions for pain meds.

 I can truly say that after this accident my life has changed drastically. Nothing is the same for me. Most people don’t like change but this change has been sort of a good change. God had to show me that I can not always take care of everyone and leave myself hanging when I needed help. I had to learn how to accept help and let go of pride. I think it has always been hard for me to accept help from others because I am so independent and used to doing things on my own. I’m not saying this change was easy because it was not. I cried many days and wondered what was happening to my life. I just had to keep my trust in God. This change has made me even more stronger than I was and ha opened my eyes to see many different things.

My purpose for writing this today is to relate to the characters in my book and to explain how everone goes through something, but when it is all over we come out stronger and victorious. The characters in my book went through some terrible things but that day when they decided to go to the lock-in their lives changed drastically. They went from caged birds to birds that free. Free from whatever hurts from their past that was hunting them. My pastor’s wife, First Lady Newman, changed my way of thinking when she said over and over “It didn’t happen to you, but it happened for you”. Basically, whatever you have been or whatever you are going through is happening to help you not hurt you. Be blessed!
