He is more flamboyant then G-Dragon could ever dream and the ability to twist his gender to perfection.While other visual Kei artist are able to do so, some how Miyavi sticks out from the rest.Miyavi is not noted for being trans dressing but more for his guitar skills that surpass those who try to compare.His influences are a mixture of musical genres from hip hop, rock, pop and even the blues.Which he values most while studying and mastering his guitar skills.Miyavi isn’t afraid to mix these influential genres into his own music.Instead of following the mainstream norm of Japanese pop stars he has created his own brand.Granting him international fame and like Dir En Grey he didn’t have to change a damn thing.

Miyavi(Takamasa Ishihara) was born in Konohana-Ku,Osaka Japan to a Japanese mother and second generation Zainichi Korean father.Many consider him mix because of this but Miyavi never really stress the issue.When he was young his family up and move to Hyōgo Prefecture, small area in Japan.When Miyavi was young he had a love for soccer which he still possesses today.When he was 15 years old Miyavi developed a taste for music.He set out to buy a bass guitar but instead went for regular guitar.He soon master guitar string skills and became part of rock band called Dué le quartz in 98.

Dué le quartz consist of three other members Sakito(vocals),Kikasa(bass),and Kasuki(guitar) and former member Ken(guitar).Ken left during the band’s early years back in 99 due to musical in differences.The brief time Dué le quartz existed Miyavi was under the name Miyabi.The absence of Ken allow him also to take the role of lead guitarist of the group.Dué le quartz created a buzz and release singles plus a greatest hits album by  2001.The group would remain short lived and disband by 2002.Miyabi being the groups break out star would shop around for record companies willing to support his reintroduction as a soloist.Universal Japanese label division took on the challenged and soon Miyabi was change to Miyavi.

In 2002 he release his album Gagaku which feature the song “Girls,Be Ambitious.” Staying true to his visual Kei style in 03 Galyuu then o5 with Miyavizum.The album title alone almost seems symbolic to the J-rock singer mega stardom as being the king of visual Kei.Also the newbie axe master of new the age modern Japanese pop rock sound.The album feature hits like “Rock ‘N’ Roll Is not Dead”,”Rock No Gyakushuu” and “Freedom Fighters“.In 06 Miyavi release his most ground breaking album to date MYP Pops.The album included a slew of hits like “Kimi ni Negai Wo”, “Are Your Ready To Rock“(Rhythm Battle Mix),”Senor,Senora,Senorita” and “Gigpig Boogie”.Along with a few others MYP Pops was the album that made Miyavi an international star.He soon will have a mini fan base developing in U.S thanks to those who are interested and a little help from anime.Later in 06 Miyavi release Miyaviuta-Dokusou- that had a blues rhythm inspired song “Selfish Love.” In past interviews Miyavi explain his inspiration for the song was from old African-America base blues guitarist.The song is unique in every term and shows off  just how elevated and complex Miyavi guitar skills could go.Beyond and above what most would consider not popular anymore.Miyavi was willing to show off  his roots and that of guitar rock.In 07 he perform at 2007 Anime Expo convention in Long Beach,California making Miyavi jaded for U.S success.

By time 09 came around Miyavi had release a slew of singles,remixes,DVDs, and rank up overseas tours  earning him enough experience for a world tour.Its been Miyavi goal to tour the world and gain new fans from different nations.Miyavi popularity has grown outside the island of Japan but into near by Asian nation.Who fallen in love with the visual Kei poster boy and his guitar playing magistracy.In 09 he release his latest full album This Iz the Japanese kanuki Rock in March with a special edition soon after.In April of 09 Miyavi announce his marriage to J-pop singer Melody.In June he release a single called “Superhero” by his MySpace page and possibility of a mini U.S Tour.In July Melody gave birth to their first child a baby girl Lovelie Miyavi Ishihara.In October Miyavi announce the disappointment of his U.S Tour cancel due to an injury.Keep in mind this isn’t the last we heard of Japanese singer as he continues his goals.In the mean time Miyavi has a new more challenging venture as being a  father to little bundle of joy who needs him most.I think fans are willing to wait for visual Kei master guitarist to make his return and claim his throne once again.

The Mirraz are a spooky little japanese band that just released their 2nd album, Necessary Evil in October. Order this 11 track CD it at yesasia.com

Their current single is “Kimi Ni Naretara” and it sounds almost like a stream of conscience type song. Really fast talking over an almost Pixies-like track… it makes for a really neat song.

The video for the track is just as bizarre as it is shot at dusk and back-lit so you cannot sing the lead singer’s face at all. Low-key maybe? Hoy me gustaría recomendarles 3 videos de The Gazette. Después de un tiempo de haber dejado de escuchar esta banda, me puse a buscar a ver si ya habían lanzado su nuevo single y para mi sorpresa, el 7 de octubre lanzaron “Befote I Decay”, el siguiente single luego de su último álbum DIM el cual recibió un amplio espectro de críticas entre los fans. Uno de los videos que he colocado, “Leech” forma parte de este álbum y es uno de mis temas favoritos. El tercer video “Cassis” es un poco más viejo, una clásica power-balad, tema representativo del Gazette más antiguo. Espero disfruten las 3 canciones.

Last-fm per me è una fottuta droga…c’è poco da fare!Scrobblare tutta la musica che ascolto e vedere le statistiche del mio profilo mi fà sentire super felice.Forse perchè sono sempre stato un monomaniaco per la musica,i gruppi e le discografie dei gruppi anche quelli che non cago e non mi piacciono.La musica per me è una droga,una cosa di cui non posso fare a meno e tutti quelli che mi conoscono lo sanno bene.Quindi di conseguenza anche il profilo di Last-fm per me è una mania ma penso di averlo detto numerose volte.Ogni giorno accedo al mio profilo e dò un occhiata alle mie classifiche a quali gruppi salgono o scendono come ascolti.Poi debbo dire che a livello visivo è fatto molto bene anche se diverse modifiche mi avevano fatto storcere il naso all’inizio.Ora mi sono abituato e lo considero quasi perfetto.Ci sono tantissime applicazioni create dai diversi utenti ed è possibile implementare le proprio classifiche all’interno del proprio blog.Insomma una malattia totale che cerco di diffondere a tutti.

Korean pop band FT Island has announced the release of their very first full length Japanese album “So long, Au revoir” on 12/16. They will also hold a one man live at Zepp Tokyo on 12/23 to celebrate their album release.

Last month (October), the group released their third Japanese single “Raining.” After that release an album containing 11 songs was in the works including all three singles.

The last time they went to Japan they had a flood of fans waiting for them. Now their fans will get a taste of them just in time for the holidays.

Pre-order their first Japanese album “So long, Au revoir” on CD Japan or Amazon Japan.

I was never really a fan of this group till I turned on the TV and I saw their “I hope” PV on MYX. I’m really excited to hear how this album will turn out. I wonder why I don’t hear so much about them in Japanese media. It’s a real shame, they’re not Big Bang or Tohoshinki, but these guys are pretty talented and they’re an actual band not ‘boy band’. I like their Japanese releases, more so than I like Big Bang’s.

พราว (Proud) ได้รับมอบหมายให้ทำงานปฎิบัติมากกว่างานอ่าน และนั่นคือนิสัยของพราว ชีวิตช่วงที่เด่น ๆ ของพราวคือช่วงมัธยมปลายและปริญญาตรีตอนต้น เพื่อนของพราวคือ Daw พวกเขาเรียกงานที่ทำร่วมกันทั้งหมดว่า “ProuDaw” ซึ่งมีหลายงานด้วยกัน

Proud ถูกเลือกให้ได้รับตำแหน่ง “หลอน” ฝ่ายหญิง (ฝ่ายชายคือ ขุนพล) และ “Error” ฝ่ายหญิง (ฝ่าชายคือ พิชญ์แคว) ทั้งหมดถูกจัดทำขึ้นในปีสุดท้ายของมัธยมปลาย พราว ไม่ได้ไปรับรางวัลแรกด้วยตัวเอง คนที่รับแทนในวันงานคือ ดาว เพื่อนของเธอ ส่วน Error หญิง ฟังแล้วไม่ค่อยน่าภาคภูมิใจนัก แต่เพื่อน ๆ บอกว่า มันหมายถึงพวกใช้เวลากับ Computer มากกว่าคนอื่น และ พราว กับ พิชญ์แคว เหมือนกันในจุดนี้

พราวถ่ายภาพยนต์สั้นเรื่อง The Spooky Kids Live in MWIT โดยแสดงคู่กับ ดาว ทั้งสองช่วยกันเป็นตากล้อง พราวเป็นคนตัดต่อ และทำ Animation ทั้งหมดของเรื่องนี้ งานเรื่องนี้ไปได้สวยมาก เพราะพวกเขาสามารถเปลี่ยนมุมมองที่ผู้ชายมองผู้สาวได้ คือพวกเขาบ้าพอที่จะสนุกมากกว่าความสวยงาม

พราว ได้ชื่อว่าออกไปดูงานนอกสถานที่มากที่สุดในโรงเรียน และเธอเป็นที่รู้จักของอาจารย์หลาย ๆ คน เมื่อบางคนพูดถึง ดาว เขาก็ต่อท้ายด้วย ดาวเป็นเพื่อนของพราว ดาวดูเหมือนมีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับสมองในช่วงนั้น และเธอเคยหยุดเรียนเพื่อรักษามัน เธอยังมีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับขา ซึ่งเธอผ่าตัดไปแล้ว เธอประสพน์อุบัติเหตุจากการวิ่งไล่จับแมว ซึ่งเป็นสัตว์โปรดของ บาส เพื่อนสนิทในห้องเรียนของเธอ

พราว ยังเป็นที่รู้จักอีกด้านคือเธอชอบเพลงลูกทุ่ง และเพลง Rock เธอเคยชอบวง L’Arc~en~Ciel จาก นาฏลี, เมอน่า และ เมย์ เมื่อเธอย้ายโรงเรียนไปอยู่มัธยมปลาย คนส่วนใหญ่ไม่รู้จักวงนี้ พวกเขาหลายคนเรียน พราว ว่า “ฮิเดะ” จนกระทั้ง พราว ต้องศึกษาเกี่ยวกับคนคนนี้อย่างจริงจัง และเธอก็ชอบมัน วงของมันหลอกหลอนเธออยู่ในช่วงปีแรก และนั่นเป็นปีที่เลวร้ายที่สุด พราว ฟังเพลง Rock ที่มีความรุนแรงมากขึ้นเรื่อน ๆ ในช่วงนั้น และเพื่อนร่วมห้องของเธอ สุ หรือ ฮิตเบล้อ เปรียบเทียบ พราว กับ เพื่อนเก่าของเขาว่า พราวไม่มีทางเถื่อนได้เหมือนเพื่อนคนนั้นหรอก

ครั้งแรกเมื่อพวกเขารู้จักกัน หลายคนไม่ชอบ พิชญ์แคว เพราะหลายคนบอกว่า เขาเห็นแก่ตัว แต่ในปีสุดท้าย ห้องเรียนนี้ได้ประกาศให้ทั้งโรงเรียนรู้ว่า เขาจะเชียร์เพื่อนร่วมห้อง และรักเพื่อนร่วมห้องของพวกเขาทุกคน

เมื่อเธอมี e-mail เป็น ProudParadox และเธอติดต่อกับอาจารย์ของเธอ เขาบอกว่าเธอเป็นกวีที่เล่นคำได้สวยมาก

ในสมัยมัธยมปลาย พราว ยังสมัครร้องเพลงภาษาอังกฤษถึงสองครั้ง และเพื่อนของเธอหัวเราะเธอ เพราะมันแย่มาก พราวร้องเพลงของ X Japan แต่ข้าพเจ้าจำไม่ได้ว่ามันเป็นเพลงอะไร เธอถูกมอบหมายให้ทำประวัติวง X Japan เพื่อนแสดงในบอร์ดโรงเรียน และนั่นคือบอร์ดที่ไม่ใช่งานศิลปะ รุ่นพี่คนหนึ่ง ตัวใหญ่ และชื่อ ใหญ่ เป็นนักเปียโน เขาชอบ X Japan และเขาก็ไม่สนใจมันแล้วในเวลาต่อมา ปัจจุบัน ใหญ่ ได้สนใจการถ่ายภาพแนวศิลป์มาก และพราวอาจจะกลับไปเป็นเหมือนสมัยมัธยมต้น ที่เธอไม่ชอบอาจารย์สอนสังคมศึกษาในมัธยม 3 เอามาก ๆ เพราะอยู่คนละขั้วทางการเมือง

พราว ยังเป็นมือเขียนภาพที่ทุกคนปฎิเสธไม่ได้ งาน Power Point ของเธอได้รับการยกย่องว่าสวยและน่าสนใจที่สุด ทำให้เธอไม่ชอบอ่านหนังสือ ตอง และ ดาว เพื่อนสนิทของเธอ เชื่อว่าเธอฉลาดมาก เพียงแต่ไม่ตั้งใจเรียน และชอบหลับในห้อง และยังไม่ชอบทำการบ้าน พราวเคยบอกตองว่า เธอชอบสัปดาห์สอบที่สุด เพราะมันไม่มีการบ้าน

เธอมีความสนใจเรื่อง Animation มาก สังเกตุได้จากความฝันในวัยเด็ก นาฏลีพูดกับพราวในขณะที่ดูการแสดงเพลงของโรงเรียน และเธอบอกว่า เธออยากทำ Tetsu L’Arc~en~Ciel เต้นจนจบเพลง Stay Away และสิ่งนั้นไม่มีแล้ว

เมื่อใคร ๆ อยากถามเรื่องเพลง Rock เขาวิ่งมาหาเธอ และเขาทำเช่นเดียวกันเมื่อต้องการเพลงลูกทุ่ง เธอเคยทำการ Presentation ที่เป็นสิ่งที่น่าอับอาย เพราะเธอนำวงที่เธอชอบมาเรียงบนสไลด์ แล้วถามคนในห้องว่ามันคืออะไร

Rock band cali≠gari has announced yesterday (11/18) at their Zepp Tokyo live that the band will suspend activities after their Nippon Budokan live on 2/11/10. They previously announced a hiatus period back in September, telling fans that after 11/18 show they were going to suspend activities.

Hold out your lighters or hold up your cellphones, as the Hiatus has released a slow concert burner entitled “Antibiotic” which is the third track off their highly anticipated Insomnia Single. I gotta say, with the pianos and low hum.. I like it.

Como foi postado anteriormente: devido ao grande número de informaçõe scontidas num só post, ele teve que ser dividido em 2 partes, e aqui está a segunda!

Como nós já tinhamos falado sobre o estilo e a história da banda,  passemos agora para a análise das letras da banda (que complexo isso né!! xD). Bem, se formos notar, a maioria das letras falam sobre sentimentos, na sua maioria sobre amor, conflitos internos, mágoas e desencontros da vida, mas grande parte das letras é recheada de uma melancolia diferente de qualquer outra já vista.. na mesma música, enquanto um verso diz, por exemplo, “A depressão está escondida na rotina de cada um”, ele é seguido por “Mas quero continuar até que tudo isso se perca, mesmo que nunca desapareça…” o que dá uma sensação de coragem e superação em toda e qualquer situação adversa à que se esteja sendo submetido (Trecho da música Song Of Blue). As letras mostram os 2 lados dos sentimentos com contrapontos e discernimento: enquanto é relatada uma situação triste ou duvidosa nos primeiros versos, nas estrofes seguintes há uma motivação para se impôr e superar aquilo com muita alegria e de uma forma super positiva (um outro exemplo é Haruka Kanata.. acho que foi por isso que escolheram essa música pro anime..). Parece idota pra quem ler isso, mas analisando as letras, você entenderá o que eu quero dizer.

Saindo das letras, e passando pra outro ponto muito legal, vale falar também da arte da banda, isto é, as capas, gráficos e desenhos os quais são relacionados à Ajikan. Yusuke Nakamura – esse é o cara responsável por essa associação. Em 25 de novembro de 2002 (olha! meu aniversário!), quando lançaram o mini-álbum Hokai Amplifier, eles resolveram chamar Nakamura, que é radialista (tem uma rádio na internet inclusive), artista gráfico e música para desenhar a capa desse cd. Desde então, ele é quem faz as arter gráficas da banda. O trabalho do cara é realmente muito bonito, vale a pena dar uma conferida. Seguem aqui mais algumas capas que Nakamura fez pra banda:

Estreiando o novo visu do Fala Jow, o Post de música de hoje vai agradar os fãs de J-Rock e Anime. Vamos falar sobre eles: Ajikan – ou pra muitos: Asian Kung-Fu Generation.

Muitos conhecem a banda pelo fato deles terem sua música em 3 animes muito conhecidos: Naruto, Fullmetal Achemist e Bleach, mas vamos além disso nesse post; vamos dar uma analisada na carreira dos guris, além do estilos e das composições, ok?

Vamos começar pela história da banda: a banda existe desde 1996, quando Kensuke Kita (guitarra e vocal), Takahiro Yamada (baixo e vocal) e Masafumi Gotō (o vocalista e guitarrista) estavam na faculdade e formaram o trio, e um tempinho depois Kiyoshi Ijichi (baterista) se juntou a eles. Nesse começo, eles compunham bastante em inglês, mas, sem verba, se viram obrigados a gravar fitas k7 e mandar para as rádios locais com a esperança de que alguma grande gravadora ouvisse e gostasse das músicas. Em 2001, gravaram a 1ª música em japonês, a Kimi to Iu Hana, música essa que caiu no gosto de um Dj local que não parou de tocara música em sua rádio.Com o sucesso dessa música, a banda conseguiu fechar contrato com a Sony Music e, em 2002, lançou o mini-álbum Houkai Amplifier. Desde então, o volume de fãs do grupo só cresceu. Isso fez com que a banda fosse incluida na trilhas das animes Naruto, com Haruka Kanata (uma das músicas mais tocadas e aclamadas em eventos de anime: fato!), Fullmetal Achemist, com Riraito/Rewrite e Bleach com After Dark – ganhando assim, consequentemente, notoriedade mundial no quesito J-rock de boa qualidade.

Outras características da banda que valem a pena serem mencionadas são a aparência Geek (nerd) do vocalista Masafumi Gotō, que segundo o que dizem “surpreende com sua voz agradavelmente desafinada”, as linhas de baixo sempre marcantes (sim, pode-se ver isso em Haruka Kanata por exemplo).

Our HallyuHoneys readers have been asking why has there been such a gap in our blog postings lately and we feel it’s time we answer that question for you all. Currently, Tiffny and I have embarked on a new endeavor for our involvement in the entertainment industry. We are no longer just bloggers or reporters but organizers of rare and exclusive events, let us tell you about it…

Our first test event was  held at Kinokuniya. We  invited local J-rock bands Uzuhi, Noircuer, and Geist, to participate in a live interview and panel hosted by The Lady Miz Diva Velez.  Our Miz Diva runs her very own pop-culture hub over at the Diva Review. Her amazing personality, super cool looks and cultured poise made her the perfect host! With that day being a smashing success, we have now climbed up the ladder and our most recent event for which we again teamed up with the lovely Lady Miz Diva was also held at Kinokuniya.  This time our featured guests were none other than DIR EN GREY.

Yes, you read correct, Dir En Grey the most successful Japanese rock export to hit the States, were brought to fans in part by us for this exclusive event. We’ve transformed into a non-for-profit-arts company called 2gNY and with our sister company La-umi,  came together under The Diva Review to become The Diva Crew.

You can imagine our excitement as our 6 foot banner featuring artwork and logo’s that Tiffny designed graced the second floor windows of Kinokuniya, overlooking Bryant Park at the Ave of the Americas. More so our collectable posters that again, Tiffny designed, were given out toVIP, Press and contest winners. These items were then signed by Dir En Grey for fans at the event. The band and their team was truly impressed at the end of the evening, and hearing directly from the band of their gratitude was so worth it.

So now you know why… and yes we are working with so many more amazing export Asian artists very soon. Meet & Greets, Live Panels, Unplugged and Exclusive performances are going to be coming your way. All brought to you by your Hallyu Honeys Mia and Tiffny aka 2gNY!

We posted before that An Cafe will be going on “hiatus” (well the term we used is ‘quits’) after their Nippon Budokan live on 1/4/2010.

Well before that the band will release one more album, a best of album to be exact. As for the title of the album they will use their original name “Antic -coffee shop-“. The album will include their singles, songs performed at their pervious shows and some ‘rare’, un-published songs. The album will also be 2-disc, 15 songs each. First press (limited edition) will include a sleeve (slip case).

In 2010 they will also release an official artist book “NYAPPYBOOK“. The book will come with a DVD that has 100 minute movie of An Cafe and an original tote bag enclosed.

Their agency, Sinko Music will start taking pre-order via web on 11/16.

And if you didn’t know, An Cafe will also be featured in SHOXX magazine’s “SHOXX FILE”.

Do As Infinity é uma das maiores bandas do Japão. A banda possui dois membros principais, que são a vocalista Tomiko Van e o guitarrista Ryo Owatari. Dona de um estilo muito variado (Rock, Pop, Jazz, Clássico, Metal e outros), a banda possui musicas que fazem parte da trilha sonora do anime Inu Yasha, um desenho de muito sucesso no Japão. DAI foi criada em Setembro de 1999. Em Setembro de 2005, o grupo anunciou seu fim. Seu último show foi realizado no Nippon Budokan no dia 25 de Novembro. Entretanto, no dia 29 de Setembro de 2008, a banda oficialmente retornou às suas atividades, tocando em diversos eventos, pouco antes do anuncio eles fizeram uma apresentação surpresa no fetival de verão da Avex, o A-nation.
