Kristin has Gossip Girl spoilers.

The Vanessa-Olivia aspect of the Gossip Girl threesome and Alex-Marissa on The O.C. are included in E!
The O.C.’s Chrismukkah episodes made TVGuide.com’s list of Best Holiday and Christmas TV Episodes.

It figures: when I move away from Chicago, Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) starts doing solo-shows there.

Say hello to the winners of the “who is your favorite character poll”…Sawyer and Sayid. Before we look at the favorite characters lets look at who didn’t get any votes:
- Jack: I guess he really does cry to much for his own good. No one voted for the fearless leader! It’s like teenage mutant ninja turtles, everyone loves Michelangelo and Rafael but there’s no love for Leonardo. All Jack’s done is keep the survivors together, safe and given them hope. Plus he has a sick golf game.
- Kate: This surprised me more than anything else. I thought we’d have SOME Kate lovers. She’s a hott bad ass rebel with a heart of gold. She can fight, track, shoot and steal, what’s not to love about Kate?? Who else could manipulate a gang to rob a bank for a toy airplane??
- Charlie: Everyone’s not so favorite junky rockstar. I agree with this non pick. While I like Charlie he hasn’t really done anything that stands out. He is an underachiever among superstars (Locke, Sayid, Kate, Jack, Sawyer I’m looking at you). His codependence on Prego is pretty annoying and someone needs to tell him that he is not Aaron’s dad.
- Prego (Claire): I like Claire, I just don’t love her. I do however love the psychic story line so I’m hoping the writers take her character somewhere beyond the crying mom that’s always defending her baby.
- Boone: He probably died too early in the series for people to really get attached to. Then there was the thing where his banged his hott step sister. Not sure if that helps or hurts his cause. Props for being Locke’s understudy, getting seriously injured while on the plane radio and for accepting his death in order to conserve the already scarce medicine.
- Sticks (Shannon): You all know she is not my favorite character. Sadly she also died too early (my bad). She could have made a comeback with the whole looking for Walt mission but I think it was too little to late.
- Michael: The character I hate most. What’s most frustrating is I only hate him when he’s dealing with Walt. If he’s looking for Walt or talking to Walt I want him to moonwalk right into the defense mechanism/invisible dino. When he’s playing with the adults (raft building time with Sawyer & Jin) then I really like Michael. Plus points for building the raft, minus points for bailing on your kid shortly after he was born.
- Walt: It was going to be really hard for the kid to get some votes. You got to like the fact that everything seems to go his way except of course when he gets kidnapped by The Others. I’m hoping he gets rescued and becomes more of an interesting character.
- Sun: I’m pretty shocked that no one voted for her. I think Sun is such a deep and intriguing character. She runs a garden, learns english on the sly and stays with her husband even though it may not be the best choice at the time. I forgot to put Jin up there and I hope he would have gotten at least one vote. He seems to be loyal to Michael and Sawyer and he still loves Sun. I’m looking forward to Jin developing as a more complete and beloved character.

Now onto the characters that did receive votes:
- Hurley (2 votes): Known best by the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 for creating a golf course and hosting junkfood-thanksgiving, Hurley is probably the most well liked survivor. Add the ingredients that he can’t keep a secret, is worth a $130M, and knows about the numbers, and you have a lovable character.
- Someone I haven’t met yet (3 votes): I’m going to go out on a limb here and say this is either Mr. Ed (Eko) or Desmond. I don’t know much about Desmond but Eko rocks. He saved my favorite character (Sawyer) and doesn’t listen to Mean Bitch (Ana). I also love that he gave up speaking for 40 days.
- Locke (3 votes): John Locke, the man, the myth, the legend. Conned out of a kidney by his own father, crippled for a so far unexplained reason, un-crippled for a so far unexplained reason, master hunter, master tracker, hatch discoverer, hatch opener and of course ALWAYS knows what is troubling the survivors (and often helps them through it). Minus points for the preachy faith thing, otherwise full fledge bad ass.

And the WINNERS are (2-way tie):
- Sayid: I think I know why people love Sayid. He’s tough, he always knows what to do and he’s always fixing some ridiculous electronic device. He tends to fly off the handle a bit but that’s just part of his charm. I have high hopes for Sayid. I’m still holding out hope that he will meet his great Iraqi love if (when?) they get off the island. I also think he will be a key contributor because he’ll fix some yet to be seen device to get them to safety. Sayid you are a winner!

- Sawyer
My favorite character. He’s the survivor you are supposed to hate but like Kate you can’t help falling in love. Like every misunderstood bad boy with a complicated and tragic past, he tries to do the right thing when you least expect it (telling Jack about his father, attempting to protect Walt). He also shares my hobbies of nicknames and doesn’t let the fact that he’s on a deserted island get in the way of him having the exact amount of bad boy scruff. Looking forward to Sawyer becoming more domesticated with Kate as the show moves along…

Thanks to everyone that voted in the poll and please vote on the next Poll: If you were stuck on the island you would most likely be found doing which activity:….

After yesterday’s whimsy and yumalicious post, I thought perhaps I could and should be a tad more seriously thankful for all the good in my life of which there is a lot.

{via weheartit }

Jack, my faithful dog who follows me around the house and lies on my bed, often on my computer or book to get my attention. He loves me unconditional no matter what clothes I’m wearing, how crappy my hair looks or how busy I am. He’s always there and ready to give love.

My parents who are steady as a rock, who make me laugh, make me cry (in a good way), encourage me on whatever path I have chosen, who distract me when I need to not think, who guide me when I need a little direction. They are my guideposts for what I want in a relationship, for what I want in a marriage, for who I want to be as a parent. Without them I surely wouldn’t be where I am today.

My brother who is a bright, shining star in my life. He’s creative and a free-thinker. He pushes my buttons and my envelope but I love him for that. We’ve grown infinitely closer in the last few years and I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

My friends. Gosh, my friends. Where would I be without them and you guys? Probably crying in a forest or something equally as lonely. I can’t thank you all enough for challenging me. For telling me to go to Vegas. For putting up with my silly memes when I have nothing to write. For the sweet words, letters, emails, snail mail, gchats, presents and overall knowing that I have a huge friend network. For taking me to happy hours. For letting me cry on their shoulders. For letting them cry on my shoulders. For inviting me into their life and for me emerging a better person.

My passion. I know that probably sounds odd but my passion for life, to make people happy, to be in love and to be loved push me forward. It has given me hope. It has provided a foundation for my faith, my personality, my ideals, where I’ve been and where I’m going. I don’t do things “just a little bit.” I go all out, full of passion and ready for whatever comes my way. It’s allowed me to be courageous when I feel I have nothing left to give. It’s allowed me to look at situations with honesty and truth. It’s allowed me to find the next door to open even in darkness. It’s allowed me to be okay with my own thoughts. Above all, it doesn’t let me give up.

Toronto bench triumphs as Raptors easily defeat Indiana Jarrett Jack smiled over at his former Pacer

Toronto bench triumphs as Raptors easily defeat Indiana

Jarrett Jack smiled over at his former Pacer teammates when he came in off the bench, foreshadowing what became his best effort of the season. Jack was 7 for 7 from the field, scoring 18 points and handing out 6 assists as the Raptors defeated Indiana 123 – 112.

“I felt extra energized,” Jack said. “That might have something to do with me playing against my old team, but I felt like I was in a good rhythm from the moment I was warming up with Coach Alvin Williams,” he continued. “I just came out firing, man. I just have to thank my teammates they found me on a lot of my open shots and I was able to knock them down.”

Jose Calderon also had a big game, scoring 21 points and dishing out 7 assists. The two guards played on the same line for key portions of the game, a combination that impressed Raptors Head Coach Jay Triano.

“I really liked when they were out there together,” Coach Jay Triano said. “At one point they were probably thinking they were competing for a position and now they realize they can play together on the floor as well as give each other relief.”

Last season, the Toronto Raptors had a choice between Calderon and T.J. Ford at the point. Ford was a selfish player, unable to come off the bench without feeling slighted while putting up lesser numbers than his teammate. Ford had 16 points last night but was ineffective against both Calderon and Jack when it counted, putting more pressure on Danny Granger to step up. Granger did his part, scoring a game high 36 points while fetching 9 boards, but it just wasn’t enough.

“They shot 55 percent tonight,” Granger said, also holding a copy of the box score. “I don’t even know what to say. We emphasized what we wanted to do. Sometimes we do it and sometimes we don’t and we didn’t do it tonight.”

Raptors rookie DeMar DeRozan continued to see his playing time diminish, scoring 8 points in just 10 minutes as a starter. Rasho Nesterovich finally got some quality playing time and used it productively, scoring 12 points to go along with 7 rebounds in 16 minutes. Chris Bosh struggled with his game but still had his twelfth double double of the year, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 boards in the victory for the Raps.

Toronto continues its heavy schedule today as they face off against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Jack offered to blog for me, but instead fell asleep on the job.

that being…. Parents on Facebook. (with that said, Santiago’s Mom doesn’t count… she is a cool Facebooker). I know many of you know what I’m talking about… the quizzes, the odd comments, the stalking, the game invites (how many times do I have to tell you, I don’t want to play Vampire Wars) and my favorite, acting as if Facebook statues equal real life conversation topics. I love it when you begin a sentence with, did you see on Facebook where so and so said this to so and so??

Yes Mom, I am talking to you… please don’t tell me you aren’t on Facebook while we are talking on the phone when I can clearly hear you typing on the keyboard and hear the clicking of the mouse. Checking email doesn’t make these sounds so please stop using it as an excuse. Also, please stop pretending that you don’t stalk my little sister’s page through the dance studio’s page. EVERYONE knows that you do, including her… this is why she didn’t accept you as a friend.

If anyone else can relate to this, please check out Oh Crap. My Parents Joined Facebook.

It’s PURE HILARITY
Now I must go check to see if my mom has commented on my new status…

A win tonight and the Raptors slip into the East’s last playoff spot with 67 games remaining! Still a ways to go, but we might as well start making a push now. The Pacers are in town tonight for a tilt at the ACC, tipping at seven. Check out the full preview at Raptors Republic, featuring my NBA 2k10 game sim.

It’s been an up-and-down year for the Pacers to say the least — after starting with three losses, they won five straight (including a homey over the LeBrons) but have since lost three, leaving them 5-6. Indiana is led by Danny Granger, a guy that shoots a ton and scores a lot, though I’m not so convinced he’s the type of guy that is gonna take a team too far as a number one scoring option (case in point: The Pacers kinda suck). Of course, it’ll also be fun to check out the infamous T.J. Ford, who’s averaged just 9.7 points and 2.6 assists in 11 games this season with a back and neck that are seemingly in tact. If you haven’t caught on by now, I’m not too high on the Pacers and don’t see why we shouldn’t beat them by 100 tonight.

If all goes according to plan, Toronto shouldn’t need Hedo Turkoglu come crunch time, which is good because he hasn’t crunched a thing in his first month as a Raptor. Still, it’d be nice to see the guy get it rolling tonight. The Raptors should also get a boost with Marco Belinelli and Antoine Wright supposedly ready to go, adding some punch to a second unit that has looked better with an improved Jarrett Jack at the helm.

I’ll be checking this one out live, so hopefully I’ll slide into some seats close enough to get a good perspective. Go Raps!
