What dispensationalists like the person who claims that preterists have an anti-semitic streak need

What dispensationalists like the person who claims that preterists have an anti-semitic streak need to explain is how their regard for the future of Israel means that two-thirds of the Jews will be slaughtered before the promises are fulfilled (Zech. 13:8) in what Charles Ryrie has described in his book The Living End as “the worst bloodbath in Jewish history.”[11] Then they need to answer what postmillennialists have always believed: “the conversion of the Jews.”

The above quote was stated by Gary DeMar on his website’s forum. What amazes me is that Dispensationalists are continually maligned as wanting the upcoming Jewish holocaust, which is believed to be taught in Scripture. For myself, I have gone back and forth with Mr. DeMar a few times via email and he accused me of this as well.

The problem is this – IF Scripture actually teaches that there will be an upcoming Jewish holocaust, then Dispensationalism is not “willing it,” or “wanting it” to happen. If it is taught in Scripture, then it will occur because the Lord has determined that it will happen. If it is not taught in Scripture, than no amount of discussion or belief in it is going to make it happen.

I know of no Dispensationalist who wants the Jews to be slaughtered. However, it seeems to me that Preterists and others who believe as they do appear to be anti-Semitic simply because they believe that God has completely rejected them as a nation, and because of the teachings that came from type of allegorical interpretation of Scripture.

This is the same type of belief that was inherent within the Roman Catholic Church centuries ago, and which caused the indoctrination of belief that Jews were the cause of Christ’s death. Much of the Reformed, Covenant, or Preterist thought and theology, when dealing with Prophecy, especially the End Times, is of an allegorical nature, and has roots in Roman Catholic Eschatology (study of the End Times). This allegorical nature of interpretation dates back to Augustine, (and really got moving with Origen), who, in an attempt to move Christianity further and further away from its Jewish roots, began to re-interpret Scripture to suit him, so that a clean break with Judaism could be made. Because of his allegorical interpretation, the Jewish people were often seens as criminals, being blamed for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, among other things.

Preterists like DeMar need to go back and review the history of their own interpretive method; its origins and its meaning. They also need to understand that Scripture says one thing or it says nothing.

If I – as a Dispensationalist – believe that there is a coming holocaust for Jews in this world, under the leadership and auspices of the Antichrist, I believe this to be so, because of my understanding of Scripture. If I am wrong, then I am wrong. My believing it will not make it happen.

To argue, accuse, or claim that I am anti-Semitic because of that belief, is like stating that because I believe in hell, I actually want people to be sent there. My belief in hell is so strong (it might be stated), that I am bringing it about for untold millions of lost souls. This is absurd.

I base my view on hell, and the eternal torment that goes with it, from what I believe Scripture teaches about it; nothing more and nothing less. The doctrine of eternal torment is in the Bible or it is not in the Bible. By wishing it, talking about it, or even being adamant about it does not create hell, nor does it send people to hell. Wishing does not make it so.

The Bible seems clear enough from Ezekiel alone that God will one day have it out with His chosen nation, Israel. If God has chosen to do this with a people who have been obstinate, rebellious, idolatrous, blasphemous, and all the rest, then that is what He has chosen. They have cheated on God, He has divorced them, and taken them back many times over. Yet, they continue to seek their own way. Anyone who believes these statements to be anti-Semitic has not read the Bible. These are facts, and God Himself has made these statements.

If a day of reckoning is coming for the nation of Israel because God has declared it, then it is coming, just as sure as one day, I will be with Him in heaven because of the salvation that He has provided me. There is no amount of wishing, or wanting on my part (even if that was the case, which it is not), that can make this happen. It is either a fact, or it is not.

The Church is far different from the nation of Israel. The Church is already righteous, and pure; already seated with Christ (cf. Ephesians 2). We are Christ’s BRIDE, as we have never been married to Him. This marriage awaits a future date. We have never divorced Him, by running off to idols. Though Christians have sinned and continue to sin in this life, our salvation is never in question. Paul makes this clear to the Corinthians that while our salvation is never in question, our rewards will be (cf. 1 Corinthians 3:15).

The Church does not at all compare with Israel. God has two programs; one for Israel and one for the Church. However, let it be clearly stated that God’s salvation for those within both groups is the exact same – via faith, which leads to the imputation of His righteousness.

Preterism has roots in Romanism. Romanism gave birth to severe anti-Semitism. Anyone who doubts this only needs to read some of Martin Luther’s (the Reformer) later works, in which he castigates Jewish individuals. In fact, Hitler read one of these works by Luther nearly every night.

Now, the reality is that Preterists believe that God is done with Israel as a nation. They believe that the Jews sinned so badly by rejecting Jesus, the Messiah, that God had finally had it with them, and He literally threw them away. Yet, what the Jews did as a nation during Jesus’ time, was no different from what their forefathers did at every turn, prior to Jesus’ time. They also rejected God because every time they killed a prophet, or when they demanded to have a king, they were, in fact, rejecting GOD. Rejecting God is rejecting God. Don’t believe it? Check out God’s own words to Samuel when He states, “They have not rejected you. They have rejected me,” (cf. 1 Samuel 8), when Israel demanded to have a king, like the other nations around them. It wasn’t good enough to simply have GOD Himself lead them. No, they needed to have a HUMAN person sitting on a throne, leading them into battle and protecting them. Apparently, God’s leadership was lacking for the Israelites…

The truth of the matter is that Israel as a nation has always rejected God. Yet every time, He wooed them back to Him, even after He divorced them. The book of Hosea alone shows that God did not give up on Israel.

When the religious leaders of Israel rejected Christ as Messiah, they were doing the same thing they always did – rejecting God, this time, in the form of the God-Man. There was nothing new here! If God did not finally or ultimately reject them for all their previous offenses when they rejected Him (directly or indirectly), He was certainly not going to do it this time either.

Each time Israel rejected God in the Old Testament, there was always a time of judgment by God. He usually did this by using other nations to overrun Israel, slaughter some of them and take others into captivity. Did anyone wish those judgments to happen? Hardly. But since I believe it did happen, am I an anti-Semite because of it? Again, hardly.

When the nation of Israel rejected Jesus as Messiah, they were also judged by God. That judgment was fulfilled in A.D. 70 with the complete obliteration of Jerusalem and the Temple. However, what Preterists and others believe is that this was also the Tribulation. In point of fact, it was not the Tribulation and the only way to show that it was, is by completely allegorizing the massive amounts of text of Scripture related to it, and by ignoring pertinent facts, while whitewashing others.

God is going to judge and He is going to judge Israel, as well as the lost of this world. I want neither one to occur, but that is completely beside the point. If God has determined that this is what He will do, then that is what He will do. Nothing I can say or do will prevent it, and nothing I can say or do will make it so.

Time of Jacob’s Trouble future or fulfilled?

The Mischievous Futurist teach that there is a future tribulation, or, “time of Jacob’s trouble”. This is taken from the verse. Jer 30:7…

“ Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.”

The problem with that interpretation is that it does not follow sound hermeneutics. Following the historical, grammatical context of the passage leads directly to the beginning of the Babylonian exile and continuing till they return in quiet and ease. Therefore the “time” of Jacob’s trouble clearly begins with that destruction of the temple by the Empire of Babylon under the kingship of Nebuchadnezzar, not some time in the far distant future.

Daniel further explains that the Great Gentile Imperial powers will rule over the people and the land till the FULL TIMES OF THE GENTILES be fulfilled. This punishment for breaking the Sabbath covenant is to end when the Holy People are no longer trodden down. [Dan 8:13]

The Trodding Down:

Under these Gentile Empires the temple was destroyed by Babylon and the nation deported. When they returned they were still under the Imperial power of Persia. Then the Greeks defeated the Persians and under Antiochus Epiphanes they desecrated the temple. As the Greeks faded from the heights of power the void was filled by the Romans. Who in 70 AD destroyed Jerusalem and her Temple. After this the Jews were then driven from their land. For 2000 years they have been out of the land as Gentile Empires one after another have ruled over them. They have endured one persecution after another. In 313 Constantine, reversing 300 years of Roman law made Christianity a legal religion and Judaism an illegal one. From then on the persecution was complete and total every where they went. They were evicted from Spain and Portugal during the 400 year INQUISITION. Eastern Europe had frequent progrums. There was no place for them even in death until Oliver Cromwell allowed Jews to be buried on English soil in 1656. But persecution continued in the rest of Europe. Meanwhile the ancient land of Israel was under the control of the Ottoman Empire or Porte, until it faded away at the end of W.W.I when the land came under the temporarily hand of the British till 1948. Finally Hitler came up with the “Final Solution” for the Jews, the Holocaust.

All these Empires no longer exist, they no longer trod down the Holy People. However the people are not so holy and they have not rebuilt the temple.

But the Dispensationalists Futurist claim that they are about to rebuild that temple, and that a evil political antichrist will somehow take over and sit in this new temple. That the Jews will be persecuted ONCE AGAIN for 3 and 1/2 or 7 years, and that this persecution will be worse than anything that has come before. How much worse can you get compared to the INQUISITION and Holocaust? How much more trouble can Jacob have, really? Even if it were possible to be worse, how could “worse” happen in just seven years? The INQUISITION lasted 400 years and the Holocaust lasted 10. How will they be able to clear the way politically to erect a temple, for an antichrist to sit in? They would answer, “God can do anything”. Ok! Why would God want a temple rebuilt? After all WE are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The sole purpose for this temple seems to be so it can be desecrated by this antichrist dude. But has anyone considered that in The Temple, as God directed, there is no place to sit? So, will this fictional antichrist bring his own folding chair? So now we are not really talking about The Temple of God, but a temple. This futurist fictional interpretation just gets more and more far-fetched, ridiculous, and absurd the closer you look at it.

We now have a nation called Israel. It is not repentant, it is not in peace, and it still does not have a temple. Yet those pesky dispensationalists would confuse everyone by claiming fulfillment of “returning to the land” and even among the Jews the Zionist cry for a return to The Land.

Something is wrong with this interpretation!

from Gateway Pundit:

The Salahis say that the truth will come out eventually.

We will see. So far the state-run media has been pretty quiet about their radical associations.

The Washington DC couple denied Tuesday on “The Today Show” that they were gatecrashers. Said and Michaele Salahi insisted that they did not party-crash the White House.

Maybe the truth is on their side? Maybe the party-goers were invited to the White House on purpose? But so far their Pentagon contact denies she gave them invites to the event.

As reported earlier… American Power discovered this on the White House party crashers- They belong to a radical anti-Israeli group:

Tareq Salahi, the polo-playing intruder, is a Palestinian nationalist with ties to the American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) , a pro-Palestine lobby demanding the “right of return” for all Palestinian refugees and their descendants. The “right of return” has long been considered the backdoor to Israel’s destruction. But not only that: ATFP President Ziad Asali is an America-basher who blamed 9/11 on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Asali was a lead U.S. official to PLO terrorist Yassir Arafat’s funeral in 2004. And in a position paper in 2007, the ATFP called for a power-sharing agreement at the Palestinian Authority, which would have included the State Department’s designated-terrorist group, Hamas.

And, there’s more…

Canada Free Press reported that the American Task Force for Palestine (ATFP) has airbrushed references to Salahi from its website:

We do know for a fact that among the slew of memberships on charitable boards, Tareq Salahi is a former member of The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP). The only way to know for a fact is because even though ATFP scrubbed all references to Salahi as a board member, he can still be found on Google cache. (Canada Free Press)

Sad that White House Secret Service are looking like Keystone Kops in the aftermath of Obama’s very first state house dinner in the tent.

While the media is fixated on the hitch in Michaele Salahi’s git-along, there can be no doubt that these recently minted “party crashers” really get around.

American Power has more on the Salahi’s leadership role with the the American Task Force on Palestinian, the “moderate” rights groups pushing a thinly-veiled program of Palestinian nationalism and the “right of return” (the backdoor destruction of Israel).

According to Discover the Networks, ATFP’s former vice president is Rashid Khalidi, the Columbia University Middle East Studies professor and militant Palestinian rights activist. Khalidi cites the late Edward Said as his major influence, and according to the entry cited, “As with Said before him, Khalidi’s involvement with the Palestinian cause goes beyond mere support.” And, “Khalidi so strongly identified with the aims of the PLO, which was designated as a terrorist group by the State Department during Khalidi’s affiliation with it in the 1980s, that he repeatedly referred to himself as ‘we’ when expounding on the PLO’s agenda.” Also, according to Campus Watch, ATFP remains in full support Kahlidi, for example, during charges of academic misconduct in 2005, at the time of Senator Barack Obama’s meeting with Tareq Salahi. See, “ATFP EXPRESSES FULL SUPPORT FOR COLUMBIA PROFESSOR RASHID KHALIDI.

Note too that Obama’s ties to the Palestinian community became something of an issue during the 2008 campaign. See, the Los Angeles Times, “Allies of Palestinians See a Friend in Obama.” Plus, from Andrew C. McCarthy and Claudia Rosett, “In Obama’s Hyde Park, It’s All in the Family: Passing Anti-American Radicalism From Generation to Generation.

As you may recall. The LA Times hid the tape of Barack Obama attending a 2003 Jew-bash where he praised and toasted the former PLO operative Rashid Khalidi.

Maybe the Salahis were just the latest radicals to be invited to the Obama White House?

They weren’t the first. And won’t be the last.

Americna Politicians could care less about the specifics of the Isreali / Arab conflict. They just want their initiatives to pass so they do not look like a failure!

News from Jerusalem:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu held a lengthy meeting with US President Barack Obama Monday night which addressed the Middle East peace process, Iran and Israeli security.

The one-hour-and-forty-minute parley was accompanied by an unusual news blackout, as the standard photo op and press availability were not held. In addition, Netanyahu canceled a scheduled briefing with Israeli reporters and Defense Minister Ehud Barak scrapped plans for radio interviews following the talks.

Instead, both sides referred to a brief statement put out by the White House after the Monday evening meeting, about half of which was one-on-one and half of which included four members of staff on each side.

Barak, Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, National Security Council head Uzi Arad and PMO adviser Yitzhak Molcho joined Netanyahu.

“The president reaffirmed our strong commitment to Israel’s security, and discussed security cooperation on a range of issues,” said the White House readout. “The president and prime minister also discussed Iran and how to move forward on Middle East peace.”

The White House deflected questions earlier in the day about why the Obama-Netanyahu meeting would be held without the usual TV cameras or statements to the media. In response, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs first said that “our schedule since late last week has been up in the air,” as Obama has shifted his schedule to participate in Tuesday’s memorial service in Fort Hood among other events.

Pressed on the issue, as it is highly unusual for the president to see an Israeli prime minister without any media presence, Gibbs said that “the President wanted to have a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu. That’s what we’re doing.”

He added, “The contents of the meeting generally seem to be well read out and I trust that this time will be no different.”

However, after the leaders’ evening conversation, the White House did not provide more information than its brief statement.

Earlier in the day, Obama met with about 60 senior representatives of Jewish federations following the cancellation of his appearance at the federations’ conference Tuesday.

Speaking at a White House reception, Obama urged the group to address health care legislation making its way through Congress, a major priority of the president.

He also thanked them for the “countless hours of tzedakah [charity] performed every day of every week,” according to a statement put out after the event by the Jewish Federations of North America.

Participants told The Jerusalem Post that Obama did not address the issue of Israel or the wider Middle East during his very short remarks, but that several members of the crowd raised the issue with him during his brief appearance in the room.

It isn’t that they don’t function. They function just fine. The problem is that through their regular functioning, they advance goals antithetical to those they were established to achieve. Instead of promoting global security, human rights, freedom and international peace, they facilitate war and aggression, human suffering and tyranny.

[...]

Both in its treatment of Israel and in its treatment of the Iranian regime, the UN demonstrates that its practices are an inversion of its stated mission. Despite its leaders’ and supporters’ repeated claims to the contrary, the UN stands shoulder to shoulder with tyrants and aggressors against democrats and democracies seeking to advance the causes of freedom, human rights and international security.

[...]

Until Obama came along, Israel could afford not to make too much of the fact that its enemies control the UN-led system of international institutions, because it could trust that the US would use its Security Council veto to prevent these forces from causing it any real harm. This is no longer the case. With the Obama administration fully on board the UN agenda, Israel and other threatened democracies like Honduras, Poland, the Czech Republic, South Korea and Japan will have to loudly proclaim the UN-based international system’s inherent moral, political and legal corruption and seek ways to undermine and weaken its power.

from Sultan Knish:

There are two interconnected lies that reside at the heart of any American discussion about Israel. The first lie is that the road to peace in the Middle East lies through Israel. The second lie is that Israel controls American policy toward itself. Those lies are not the product of ignorance or misunderstanding, they are the product of an effective propaganda campaign by the unofficial suit and tie spokesmen of the Saudi lobby who dominate American policy in the Middle East. The goal of that campaign has been to make Israel seem like the axis on which the Middle East and America turn, in order to put Israel on the firing line. And it is a campaign that has been wickedly successful up until now.

Let’s take a moment to examine those lies now.

Within the Middle East, Israel is physically insignificant. At 8500 square miles, Israel could not just fit comfortably into Pennsylvania, it is 1/5th the size of Jordan, 1/8th the size of Syria and 1/12th the size of Egypt. Simply put, Israel is smaller in land and population than every country that borders it. If you looked at the Middle East from space, you could easily put a fingernail across all of Israel.

Israel has beaten all of these countries in wars and has the best military in the region, but that is because if it didn’t, it wouldn’t exist. Israel’s military is not the product of a will to conquer, but of an attempt to maintain its own territorial integrity and protect its citizens from attack. Israel’s neighbors have never needed to work as hard or spend as much to maintain their own armed forces, because they don’t truly need them. For them a strong army is not a survival strategy, it is optional.

All those who rant endlessly about Israel’s settlements in the West Bank and Gaza as proof of Israel’s desire to seize land, forget that Jordan annexed the West Bank only two years after its forces captured it in the 1948 War of Independence. Israel has not annexed the West Bank even after more than 40 years, and has continued to offer it in peace negotiations year after year. That is not the policy of an aggressive land hungry regime. It is not the behavior of a country that keeps its neighbors up late at night. While Israel’s leaders have spent over half a century staying up late at night worrying about a war, Israel’s neighbors know that war is their choice.

But what this means in practice is that Israel has very little influence beyond its own borders. With a small size, no expansionist program beyond its own territory, and as one of only two non-Arab states and the only non-Muslim state in the region… Israel’s impact on the rest of the Middle East is surprisingly limited. To get a proper picture of Israel’s role in the Middle East, imagine plopping Singapore in the middle of a wartorn part of Africa. It can be attacked, it can fight back, but it cannot have any real local influence.

That is why Israel remains an outsider in the political trends and turmoil of the region. The shift between Arab Nationalism and Islamism, the coups and the bloodletting between Shiite and Sunni, are all events that Israel watches from a distance. Israel is not a political participant in the ideological conflicts of the Middle East, because it does not share a common religion or ethnicity or much of anything with its neighbors. Its diplomatic relations are primarily formal, not intimate. As a result Israel has very little political influence on the Middle East, and what little influence it has, is on its immediate neighbors, such as Lebanon and Jordan, who are fairly small on the scale of the Middle East as well.

Furthermore Israel and its neighbors are in part of the Middle East that has become largely irrelevant because of its lack of oil. While Egypt and Jordan were once considered major regional players, both have long ago been sidelined by the oil rich Saudi Arabia, Iran and the UAE. None of these countries share a common border with Israel. While diplomats and pundits obsess over the West Bank and Gaza, what happens there has virtually no impact on what happens where the oil and power lie.

Not only does the road to peace in the Middle East not run through Israel, it doesn’t even run anywhere near Israel. A quick look at a map shows you just how off the beaten path Israel is when it comes to the true token of global power, oil. And it is not some Elders of Zion fantasy of the Israel lobby that defines global power to the Middle East, it is who has the oil. And while Israel has plenty of olive oil, it has none of the kind of oil that the world is interested in. . . . . . .

from The 70th Week:

The article posted below details some very interesting news. It says that the Temple Institute will begin construction of the sacrificial altar tomorrow. Tomorrow, which is Tisha B’av, is the day that the Jews mourn the destruction of the Temple. This destruction occurred almost 2,000 years ago in 70 AD.

This altar that they are going to build would be built according to Jewish sacrificial regulations and when completed would be ready for the numerous voluntary and obligatory sacrifices that similarly occurred during the Old Testament days. This altar would then be moved into the new Jewish Temple if and when it is completed.

Obviously this could be huge prophetic news and in light of a scripture from the book of Ezra, sacrifices on this altar could occur before the Temple is built. Here is the scripture for your consideration.

Ezra 3:1-7

1. Now when the seventh month came, and the sons of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered together as one man to Jerusalem.
2. Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers arose and built the altar of the God of Israel to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God.
3. So they set up the altar on its foundation, for they were terrified because of the peoples of the lands; and they offered burnt offerings on it to the LORD, burnt offerings morning and evening.
4. They celebrated the Feast of Booths, as it is written, and offered the fixed number of burnt offerings daily, according to the ordinance, as each day required;
5. and afterward there was a continual burnt offering, also for the new moons and for all the fixed festivals of the LORD that were consecrated, and from everyone who offered a freewill offering to the LORD.
6. From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, but the foundation of the temple of the LORD had not been laid.

As you can see in Ezra the sacrifices on the altar occurred before the foundation of the Temple had been laid. This shows me that this could easily occur again today. If in fact they do build this altar we could be getting very close to daily sacrifices starting.

This is very important in light of what this blog has been watching (ENP).

Daniel 9:27

27. “And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”

In the middle of the 70th week of Daniel the Anti-Christ puts a stop to sacrifice and grain offering. Obviously for him to put a stop to it, it has to begin. Could this be the beginning of that fulfillment?

Stay Tuned.

Curt

—————————————————————————–

from Israel National News:

The Temple Institute will begin building the sacrificial altar on Thursday, Tisha B’av, a fast day when Jews mourn the destruction of the Temple some 2,000 years ago.

The sacrificial altar was located in the center of the Temple, and upon it the Kohanim (priests) offered the numerous voluntary and obligatory sacrifices commanded in the Bible.

The Temple Institute, which has already built many of the vessels for the Holy Temple, such as the ark and the menorah, has now embarked on a project to build the altar. Construction begins Thursday in Mitzpe Yericho (east of Jerusalem) at 5:30 p.m.

“Unfortunately, we cannot currently build the altar in its proper place, on the Temple Mount,” Temple Institute director Yehudah Glick said. “We are building an altar of the minimum possible size so that we will be able to transport it to the Temple when it is rebuilt.”

Even a minimum size altar will work out to be approximately 4 meters tall, 6 meters long, and 6 meters wide. Workers have collected around 10 cubic meters of rocks weighing several tons already.

The rocks were gathered from the Dead Sea area and wrapped individually to assure they remain whole and are not touched by metal, as the Bible requires.

“The Torah says that no iron tools should be used on the altar’s stones,” Glick explained. “The altar represents a connection to life and to the creation of the world. Iron is the opposite – it is used to build tools of war, death, and destruction.”

The stones will be cemented together with a mixture of sand, clay, tar, and asphalt. Researchers from the Temple Institute visited the Finish glass factory near Yerucham to learn how to create a mixture which would remain as cool as possible under the altar’s unremitting fires and protect the Kohanim, who always worked in the Temple barefoot

Something you won’t see in the Main Stream Media! Because they don’t want you to know the historical facts of Mid-East History. Such as those Arabs who live in the West Bank are actually, historically Jordanians. But in the dis-information war to turn global opinion against Israel, the Arab nations are actively sanitizing that historical fact.

This article is about the latest in that effort. The King of Jordan does not want Jordanian Arabs from the West Bank to be citizens in their homeland, because they might just overthrow his western created monarchy. Like what almost happened when his father was the King of Jordan and the PLO under Yassar Arafat attempted to overthow him, so his father kicked the PLO out of Jordan, the PLO moved to Beruit Lebanon and generated the civil war there.

from The Jerusalem Post:

Jordanian authorities have started revoking the citizenship of thousands of Palestinians living in Jordan to avoid a situation in which they would be “resettled” permanently in the kingdom, Jordanian and Palestinian officials revealed on Monday.

The new measure has increased tensions between Jordanians and Palestinians, who make up around 70 percent of the kingdom’s population.

The tensions reached their peak over the weekend when tens of thousands of fans of Jordan’s Al-Faisali soccer team chanted slogans condemning Palestinians as traitors and collaborators with Israel. Al-Faisali was playing the rival Wihdat soccer team, made up of Jordanian-Palestinians, in the Jordanian town of Zarqa.

Anti-riot policemen had to interfere to stop the Jordanian fans from lynching the Wihdat team members and their fans, eyewitnesses reported. They said the Jordanian fans of Al-Faisali hurled empty bottles and fireworks at the Palestinian players and their supporters.

Reports in a number of Jordanian newspapers said that the Jordanian fans also chanted anti-Palestinian slogans and cursed Palestine, the PLO, Jerusalem and the Aksa Mosque.

Prince Ali bin Hussein, chairman of Jordan’s National Football Association, strongly condemned the racist slurs chanted by the Jordanian fans, saying those responsible would be severely punished. . . . .

from Pajamas Media:

The difference between radical Muslims and liberal American Jews is that the former seek to become martyrs, while the latter aspire to become victims. In an ironic twist of fate, radical Muslims and liberal American Jews were made for each other.

This ideological symbiosis is sufficient to give pause to the presence of intelligent design. But like all things that seem to emanate from a higher power, there is a paradoxical twist. It is not themselves that liberal American Jews want to sacrifice on the altar of victimhood; it is their Israeli brethren.

Barack Hussein Obama received nearly eighty percent of the Jewish vote and still garners strong approval among America’s Jews. In contrast, only six percent of Jewish Israelis support Obama.

Even before the election, Israeli Jews, unlike their sycophantic American brethren, saw through Obama. Israelis were the least supportive population anywhere in the Western world of the inexperienced politician turned presidential candidate.

To support Obama, liberal Jews had to engage in a set of incredible mental gymnastics. They had to ignore his twenty-year relationship with the anti-Semitic minister Reverend Jeremiah Wright. They had to ignore his strong personal relationship with the virulent anti-Zionist Rashid Khalidi. They had to ignore his statement to the Iowa caucuses that no one has suffered more than the Palestinian people. They had to ignore his support of his Kenyan cousin and genocidal strongman Raila Odinga, an advocate of Sharia. They had to ignore Obama’s own Muslim heritage. They had to ignore that anti-Israel policy experts such as Samantha Power (who now has her own special seat on the National Security Council), Susan Rice, and General James Jones had the real inside tract on advising Obama on the Middle East.

Since the election, Obama’s policies toward Israel have been treacherous, and the reaction of the liberal Jewish community can only be described as inconceivable. When Obama demanded a freeze on the settlements, including organic growth and building in East Jerusalem, the reformed rabbis could barely wait to support him. Even the Jewish Daily Forward editorialized on behalf of freezing settlements, as if the settlements were the obstacle to peace and prior exchanges of land for peace had actually resulted in the reign of peace rather than the rain of rockets.

Obama’s unwillingness to do what first world nation states traditionally do — honor the commitments and obligations of a prior administration — should have generated outrage from the Jewish community. After all, Obama summarily and capriciously dismissed the commitments the Bush administration made with regard to the settlements — commitments that were made, according to Elliot Abrams, to secure Israel’s painful withdrawal from Gaza and Northern Samaria.

If for no other reason than the inconceivable precedent that will impair all of our future international relations, liberal Jews, ever concerned about the fine points of law, should have been up in arms.

But their support for Obama was unflinching, their outrage, absent.

Obama’s Cairo speech linked Israel with the Holocaust, ignoring both 3,500 years of Jewish history and European history of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The speech then went on an embarrassing rant of moral equivalence by comparing the self-imposed suffering of the Palestinians to the Holocaust.

Even so, liberal Jews did not wince. . . . .

from aish.com:

How Jewish is Jerusalem?

You might think that’s a silly question, but in the world of academia, revisionist history and even biblical archaeology, scholars have cast the shadow of doubt over Judaism’s intrinsic connection to Jerusalem. The Moslem Waqf, the religious authority that administers the Temple Mount — the site of Judaism’s First and Second Temples — has been claiming for years that there was never a temple there. But the idea that Israel is the historic homeland of the Jewish people and Jerusalem its holy capital has been under attack from far more reputable sources in recent decades as well.

For a growing number of academics and intellectuals, King David and his united kingdom of Judah and Israel, which has served for 3,000 years as an integral symbol of the Jewish nation, is simply a piece of fiction. The biblical account of history has been dismissed as unreliable by a cadre of scholars, some of whom have an overtly political agenda, arguing that the traditional account was resurrected by the Zionists to justify dispossessing Palestinian Arabs. The most outspoken of these is Keith Whitelam of the Copenhagen School which promotes an agenda of “biblical minimalism,” whose best-known work is The Invention of Ancient Israel: The Silencing of Palestinian History. . . . . .

But the debunkers of Jewish biblical history got some bad news recently, when a spunky, dedicated archaeologist began her latest dig. Dr. Eilat Mazar, world authority on Jerusalem’s past, has taken King David out of the pages of the Bible and put him back into living history. Mazar’s latest excavation in the City of David, in the southern shadow of the Temple Mount, has shaken up the archaeological world. For lying undisturbed for over 3,000 years is a massive building which Mazar believes is King David’s palace.

For Mazar, 48, one of the world’s leading authorities on the archaeology of ancient Jerusalem and head archaeologist of the Shalem Center Institute of Archaeology, the discovery was the culmination of years of effort and solid speculation. From the time she was a teenager, she had her nose in archaeology literature, and worked closely with her grandfather, renowned archaeologist Benjamin Mazar, who conducted the southern wall excavations next to the Western Wall. She holds a doctorate in archaeology from Hebrew University, is author of The Complete Guide to the Temple Mount Excavations, and in the 1970s and ’80s worked on the digs supervised by Yigal Shilo in the City of David. The significant discoveries made then, including a huge wall called the “stepped-stone structure” — which Shilo believed was a retaining wall for David’s royal palace or part of the Jebusite fortress he conquered — ignited Mazar to continue to look for the prize: David’s palace itself. . . . . . .

—Just one of the hate-filled quotes on the website for the Islamic Society of North America. Rick Warren will be speaking to their convention during the 4th of July weekend.

The Canadian Free Press is raising questions about Rick Warren that the Southern Baptist Convention refuses to. What in the world is Warren doing speaking at an Islamic Society of North America gathering? To preach Christ crucified? To rebuke them for their hatred of Israel and promise to destroy it? To speak out against the growing number of “honor killings” in North America? The Southern Baptist Convention leadership has given Rick Warren a free pass for far too long. Now the world has to come along and ask the hard questions.

Is it a fraud? Most likely guaranteed, but the revealing of it is very timely, with all of the apostasy that is going on. Many people will most likely latch on to it as some kind of a sign!

from IsraelNationalNews:

An Ethiopian church leader says Friday, June 26, marks the right time to unveil the Biblical Ark of the Covenant, which he says has been hidden in his church for centuries.

Abuna Pauolos, Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, was in Rome this week to meet with Pope Benedict XVI. While there, he told reporters that the time had come to reveal before the world the Holy Ark. He said that the holy container has been in the custody of his church for hundreds of years.

Paulous said he would make the full announcement this Friday, June 26, 2 PM local time (3 PM Israel time, 8 AM New York time) at a press conference in Rome.

The claim that the Biblical Holy Ark has been kept at the Church, in the city of Axum, is an old one, but this is the first time that the Church plans to actually reveal the actual container, or news of it. It is not known whether the Church claims that the actual Tablets of the Law are inside it.

Copies of the alleged Ark are kept in many other churches in Ethiopia.

The news of the impending announcement was first reported by the Italian news agency Adnkronos. Pauolos told the news outlet, “Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that G-d delivered to Moses, and the center of searches and studies for centuries.”

Pauolos said “The Ark of the Covenant has been in Ethiopia for many centuries. As Patriarch, I have seen it with my own eyes, and only a few, highly-qualified persons could do the same – until now.”

Back to Earth
Stuart Munro-Hay, author of “Quest for the Ark of the Covenant: The True History of the Tablets of Moses,” concluded that the object in question is definitely not the original Holy Ark.

The building of the Ark of the Covenant – also known as the Ark of Testimony and the Ark of G-d’s Covenant – in accordance with Divine instructions is recounted in the Book of Exodus. The Ark held the Tablets of the Law, and traveled with the People of Israel, leading the way into the Promised Land. It was placed first in the Tabernacle in Shilo, and centuries later in the Holy Temple built by King Solomon. Since then, its whereabouts have been unknown, though one popular legend says it was brought to Ethiopia. Alternatively, it could be under the Temple Mount, in a cave at Mt. Nevo in Jordan, in the Vatican, a hideaway in Utah, or elsewhere.

Do we see what is being said in Obama’s speech? His is the voice of the new relativism! His is the voice that says we can forget what principle a false religion was established on because to those who believe in relative truth such as him, ALL religions are just myth-stories and since they are ALL just myth-stories then we all can agree to create a new myth that advances the ideology of a unified and inclusive world, one which does away with the parts of the myth-stories within religions that prevent them from being inclusive of people from other religions!

Make no mistake, Obama is NO CHRISTIAN. He is a politician of the globalist world order. and he will deny any part of Christianity that is exclusive of salvation through Christ alone, that says the God of the Bible is not the same god of false religions such as Islam.

When you define ALL religions as just myth-stories then it becomes easy to marginalize all of them and also to become blind to the mortal danger that you place your country in. Mr. Obama in his blind arrogance thinks he can reach out to Muslim countries and in the process redefine what Islam is.

He actually thinks he can take a blood thirsty warrior religion that seeks to dominate the world and appeal to its apostate side. To appeal to the “pragmatic” leaders of Muslim countries to work with him to create a New World Order. But what he is actually doing is opening the door for Islam to overtake the world, in effect surrendering to Islam wihout ever firing a shot!

How the Islamic terrorist groups must be laughing at this man!

h/t to Apostasy Watch:

Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.

And it only got worse. It was terrible. My heart is heavy for my country and the free world.

The media can spin their subjugation and adulation a million different ways, but America did not vote for a “Muslim presidency,” which is what this is. Obama deceitfully hid his Muslim background and schooling and his agenda. Little did America know that Obama’s objective would be a conversion of this nation to “the largest Muslim country in the world”. From the moment he spoke as President, in the inaugural address, Islam was falsely given a preeminent place in the creation of America. In this speech, he quoted from the Koran three times. Why doesn’t anybody comment on this? Why doesn’t anyone ever comment on what he projected vs. what he is? Why won’t all those talking heads state the obvious?

He quoted extensively from the Koran.

In his typically anti-semitic fashion, Obama came down very hard on the Jews in his speech today to the Muslim world.(Full text of speech here)

MK Aryeh Eldad in Israel said, “Obama makes a shocking parallel between the destruction of European Jewry and the suffering that the Arabs of Israel brought upon themselves when they declared war on Israel.”

“If Obama does not understand the difference between them, perhaps he will understand it better when he visits the concentration camp in the comings days. And if he doesn’t understand it even there, then Islam will once again teach it to him, just as it taught his predecessor on 9/11.”

The moral equivalence did not end there. Obama equated “the two peoples”:

America will not turn our backs on the legitimate Palestinian aspiration for dignity, opportunity, and a state of their own.
For decades, there has been a stalemate: two peoples with legitimate aspirations, each with a painful history that makes compromise elusive. It is easy to point fingers – for Palestinians to point to the displacement brought by Israel’s founding, and for Israelis to point to the constant hostility and attacks throughout its history from within its borders as well as beyond. But if we see this conflict only from one side or the other, then we will be blind to the truth: the only resolution is for the aspirations of both sides to be met through two states, where Israelis and Palestinians each live in peace and security.

There has not been a day, not one day, since the birth of modern Israel when she was not under attack by the Arabs. Not one. There are 25 Arab/Islamic countries, one tiny Jewish state. There is already a “two state solution” in place. Jordan is Palestine. Muslims in Gaza were given whole industries, factories (a way to make a living) and billions and billions in aid, to what end? Jewish genocide.

Israel must also live up to its obligations to ensure that Palestinians can live, and work, and develop their society.

Who is stopping them? They live to hate the Jews, and yet Obama insists the Jews be responsible for their executioners – this is rich.

I say, NO MORE LAND FOR ISLAM. NO MORE ISLAMIC COLONIALISM!

Obama’s speech was a lesson in taqiya (lies to advance Islam). He called Islam a force of religious tolerance and racial equality ….. in the face of all the barbarism.

The Asia Times said Obama made a mistake by speaking in Cairo. “Why should the president of the United States address the ‘Muslim world?,” it asked. “What would happen if the leader of a big country addressed the ‘Christian world’? Half the world would giggle and the other half would sulk.” . . . . . .

“To speak to the ‘Muslim world’ is to speak not to a fact, but rather to an aspiration,” the paper stated, “and that is the aspiration that Islam shall be a global state religion as its founders intended. To address this aspiration is to breathe life into it. For an American president to validate such an aspiration is madness.”

The arrogance of man! God has promised that he would return the Jews to Israel and will never allow them to be uprooted again! How arrogant and ignorant of Obama and for that matter his predecessor Bush to think they can resist God! As we have seen in the past the one who gets uprooted will be the U.S.!

Ezekiel 20:34 - “I will bring you from the nations and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered — with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath.”

He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.”

Isaiah 66:8 - “Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labour than she gives birth to her children.”

President Obama and his administration told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during a meeting last week the U.S. foresees the creation of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, according to a top PA official speaking to WND.

“The American administration was very friendly to the position of the PA,” said Nimer Hamad, Abbas’ senior political adviser.

“Abu Mazen (Abbas) heard from Obama and his administration in a very categorical way that a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital is in the American national and security interest,” Hamad said.

Another PA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told WND today that Obama informed Abbas he would not let Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “get in the way” of normalizing U.S. relations with the Arab and greater Muslim world.

“We were told from this new administration they will not allow a Netanyahu government to hurt their efforts of rehabilitating U.S. relations with the Arab and Islamic world, which is a high priority of Obama,” the official said, speaking during a visit to Cairo .

Also in Cairo today, Abbas met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, where the Palestinian leader briefed Egypt’s president on his recent trip to Washington, saying the U.S. was committed to bringing about an end to Israeli construction in the West Bank.

Hamad’s comments about Jerusalem today come as controversy abounded regarding the U.S. position on Israel’s capital city.

Last week, the State Department refuted a speech in which Netanyahu said Jerusalem never will be divided.

“Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” Netanyahu said at an event marking Jerusalem’s reunification. “Jerusalem was always ours and will always be ours. It will never again be partitioned and divided.”

In response, the State Department released a statement that Jerusalem “is a final status issue.”

“Israel and the Palestinians have agreed to resolve its status during negotiations. We will support their efforts to reach agreements on all final status issues,” the statement said.

Also last week, a top Palestinian Authority official claimed in a WND interview that the Obama administration told the PA that Jerusalem will never be united under Israeli sovereignty.

“Americans said an open Jerusalem – yes. But a united Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty – no,” Hatem Abdel Khader, the PA’s minister for Jerusalem affairs, said in comments to both WND and Israel’s Ynetnews website.

“(The Obama administration) has made clear that Jerusalem must be accessible to everyone – but not united under Israel’s rule,” Khader said.

Khader claimed the U.S. is cooperating with the PA to “thwart Israel’s plans in Jerusalem.”

“When they collaborate with us in Israeli courts against home demolitions or the confiscation of land we see their attitude,” he said.

Khader told WND, “The Americans are very present on the ground, and they are making pressure over Israeli authorities and even municipalities.”

“They are acting according to the concept that the failure to establish a Palestinian state would jeopardize U.S. national security interests – and without Jerusalem there is no Palestinian state,” he said. . . . . . . .

Our new article for Examiner.com looks at the implications of today’s missile test by Iran. With the successful launch of a solid-fueled Sajjil-2, Tehran has re-affirmed its plans to field advanced missiles, capable of hitting Israel and U.S. targets throughout the Middle East.

But the Sajjil-2 is more than just a new Iranian missile. It’s a first-strike weapon, designed to put a chemical, biological or nuclear warhead on an Israeli target with minimal warning. Over the past decade, Tehran has invested heavily in underground complexes for its short and medium-range missiles.

Some of those facilities–like the base at Bakhtaran–have launch portals built into the roofs of hardened bunkers, allowing missiles to be launched from inside. Such facilities are ideal for staging surprise attacks, and solid-fuel missiles support that strategy. They can be launched with minimal preparation, and the solid-fuel technology is less volatile that the liquid fuel used in older Iranian missiles.

As we note in the article. development of the Sajjil-2 reduces Israel’s warning time to a matter of minutes. Liquid-fueled systems like the Shahab-3 require longer preparation time (more than a an hour in some cases) and–preferably–outside an enclosed bunker, where a fuel leak could be disastrous.

Archaeologists from Israel’s Antiquities Authority (IAA) have revealed two important artifacts recently discovered in Jerusalem, both dating from the First Temple Period (8-7 BCE).

The first, a bone seal engraved with the name “Shaul” was found in an excavation being conducted under the auspices of the IAA, in cooperation with the Nature and Parks Authority in the Walls Around Jerusalem National Park, located in the City of David.

The dig, which is underwritten by the “Ir David Foundation” (City of David) is being carried out under the direction of Professor Ronny Reich of the University of Haifa and Eli Shukron of the IAA.

The seal, which is made of bone, was found broken and is missing a piece from its upper right side. Two parallel lines divide the surface of the seal into two registers in which Hebrew letters are engraved. A period followed by a floral image or a tiny fruit appear at the end of the bottom name.

The name of the seal’s owner was completely preserved and it is written in the shortened form of the name, Shaul, which is known from both the Bible (Genesis 36:37; 1 Samuel 9:2; 1 Chronicles 4:24 and 6:9) and from other Hebrew seals.

Another Hebrew seal and three Hebrew bullae (pieces of clay stamped with seal impressions) were previously discovered nearby.

The second artifact, an ancient jar handle bearing the Hebrew name “Menachem” was uncovered in the neighborhood of Ras el ‘Amud during an excavation prior to construction of a girls’ school by the Jerusalem municipality. . . . . .

When what he should have done is called to task Egypt and Jordan for abandoning their own citizens in Gaza and the West Bank, blaming their plight on Israel and trying to foist them off as a fake State and Nationality!

If he had bothered to read factual history, (and we all know the Catholic Church has selective memory about its own history and has actually fabricated a great deal of it) he would have known that the term “Palestinian” was coined by the PLO, Yasser Arafat and the Arab states to give Media Legitimacy to the creation of a false “Palestinian” state and nationality for Jordanians in the West Bank, Egyptians in Gaza to undermine the legitimate state of Israel!

from the Jerusalem Post:

In a pilgrimage to Jesus’s traditional birthplace, Pope Benedict XVI called Wednesday for the establishment of a Palestinian state and acknowledged Palestinian suffering during decades of Middle East turmoil.

The pontiff stood alongside Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as he delivered his strongest public support yet for Palestinian statehood.

“Mr. President, the Holy See supports the right of your people to a sovereign Palestinian homeland in the land of your forefathers, secure and at peace with its neighbors, within internationally recognized borders,” the pontiff said.

Benedict acknowledged the difficulties faced by the Palestinians, although he stopped short of singling out Israel for criticism.

“I know how much you have suffered and continue to suffer as a result of the turmoil that has afflicted this land for decades,” he said.

“It is my earnest hope that the serious concerns involving security in Israel and the Palestinian Territories will soon be allayed sufficiently to allow greater freedom of movement, especially with regard to contact between family members and access to the holy places,” the pope continued. “Palestinians, like any other people, have a natural right to marry, to raise families, and to have access to work, education and health care. I pray too that, with the assistance of the international community, reconstruction work can proceed swiftly wherever homes, schools or hospitals have been damaged or destroyed, especially during the recent fighting in Gaza.”

Earlier Wednesday, the pontiff’s motorcade drove through a crossing in the security barrier to reach the cradle of Christianity.

Later, he was to tour the Church of the Nativity, built over the traditional birth grotto, and visit a Palestinian refugee camp.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said the pope’s visit amounts to “a call to end injustice and end occupation.”

Christians are a dwindling minority among Palestinians. Christians in Bethlehem say they hope the pope’s visit will discourage further Christian emigration.

Curt Here…

This article posted below does a very nice job of summing up the diplomatic activity over the last couple of weeks between the US and Israel. It is just as I suspected maybe even worse. The new US administration has effectively in just a few short weeks radically changed the US’s 60 year relationship with the nation of Israel.

The old US policy’s would be to protect the nation of Israel at any cost against their radical Muslim neighbors. Today the new US policy’s will leave Israel to face Iran and Hamas alone and at the same time these new policy’s will back Israel into a corner. It appears as if the only way out, will be to accept some sort of peace agreement that includes a two state solution with the Palestinians.

How can you have peace with a group of people who want nothing more than to see Israel wiped off the face of the earth? Iran and Hamas to this day refuse to acknowledge that Israel has the right to exist. How does our new administration not see this?

Peace, peace there is no peace, until the Prince of Peace returns. I hope soon.

Stay tuned.

Curt

Netanyahu Prepares for Obama: Israel to Be Left Alone in World?

by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) As Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu prepares for his visit to the United States next week, warnings abound that the Obama Administration’s policies will leave Israel to face Iran and Hamas alone.

The warnings are summed up in recent articles by the West’s two main pro-Israel female commentators: Melanie Phillips and Caroline Glick. Writing in the Spectator (United Kingdom) last week, Philips warns that “Obama is attempting to throw Israel under the Islamist bus.” She cites the report that Obama’s National Security Adviser told a European foreign minister that Obama will be ‘forceful’ with Israel, and plans to impose, with the EU and moderate Arab states, “a satisfactory endgame solution” upon Israel.

PA State: Evil and Stupid

“This is all not only evil,” Phillips says, “but exceptionally stupid… The Arab states are beside themselves with anxiety about Iran. They want it to be attacked and its nuclear programme stopped. They are desperately fearful that the Obama administration might have decided that it can live with a nuclear Iran… A Palestine state will be Iran, in the sense that it will be run by Hamas as a proxy for the Islamic Republic. The idea that a Palestine state will not compromise Israel’s security is ludicrous.”

American Jewry: Spineless

After expressing incredulity at the American demands for further Israeli concessions in the light of the utter failure of the Disengagement, Phillips writes that U.S. Jews are reacting “with a total absence of spine… Almost eighty per cent of American Jews voted for Obama despite the clear and present danger he posed to Israel. They did so because their liberal self-image was and is more important to them than the Jewish state whose existence and security cannot be allowed to jeopardise their standing with America’s elite.”

Netanyahu must therefore take Israel’s message to “the ordinary American people,” she concludes: “They do value and support Israel. They do understand that if Israel is thrown under that bus, the west is next. And it is they to whom Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu must now appeal, over the heads of the politicians and the media and certainly America’s Jews and everyone else. He must tell the American people the terrible truth, that America is now run by a man who is intent on sacrificing Israel for a reckless and amoral political strategy which will put America and the rest of the free world at risk.”

Glick: Obama Forcing Israel into Corner

Caroline Glick, writing in The Jerusalem Post, states that ahead of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, “the Obama administration is ratcheting up its anti-Israel rhetoric and working feverishly to force Israel into a corner.”

She notes that quartet mediator Tony Blair has announced that within six weeks the US, EU, UN and Russia will unveil a new framework for establishing a Palestinian state, and that it is “being worked on at the highest level in the American administration.”

Obama Humiliates Peres

Yet another milestone in the U.S. path towards abandoning Israel is the “humiliating reception” President Shimon Peres received from Obama. Visiting in Washington last week, “Peres was tasked with calming the waters ahead of Netanyahu’s visit. It was hoped that he could introduce a more collegial tone to US-Israel relations.” However, the Obama government barred all media from covering the event, thus “transform[ing] what was supposed to be a friendly visit with a respected and friendly head of state into a back-door encounter with an unwanted guest, who was shooed in and shooed out of the White House without a sound.”

Abrogating 40 Years of Understanding

Another point raised by Glick and Eli Lake of The Washington Times: US Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller told the UN that Israel and others must adhere to the NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), thus effectively abrogating a 40-year-old US-Israeli understanding that the US would remain silent about Israel’s nuclear program because it understood that it is defensive, not offensive in nature. The statement also erases “any distinction between nuclear weapons in the hands of US allies and democratic states and nuclear weapons in the hands of US enemies and terror states,” Glick wrote.

“The fact that if Iran acquires nuclear weapons, all chance of peace between Israel and the Palestinians and Israel and the Arab world will disappear,” Glick continues, “is of no interest to Obama and his advisers. They do not care that the day after [Hamas said it was] suspending its attacks against Israel from Gaza, the Iranian-controlled terror regime took credit for several volleys of rockets shot against Israeli civilian targets from Gaza.”

“The operational significance of the administration’s anti-Israel positions is that Israel will not be well served by adopting a more accommodating posture toward the Palestinians and Iran,” Glick concludes.
