Reebok Pump celebrated its 20th Anniversary in style last night, with a party in East London attended by the likes of Mr Hudson and Kelly Brook. And a DJ set from Jezebel soundsystems, namely Jade Jagger & Dan Williams, made sure the party was rocking.

Reebok Pump was created by Paul Litchfield, originally a basketball trainer, in 1989- it had such impact that its patented technology was quickly used by Reebok for their tennis, running and football trainers..and quickly adopted as a fashion trainer.

Ok before I go back to hibernation a little update:

I planned on having a nice cozy,alcohol- and party-free,quiet weekend at home but of course that did not work out. Some evil friends convinced me to go to Tiger with them. I love that club(and those evils knew it!) and this time they even had red carpets there…as if they knew i was coming .

No seriously, I was shocked cuz I was so sure I would not get in as I was wearing jeans and sneakers…but I got through face control yaay!

The actual reason for the red carpet was that Mick Jagger’s daughter Jade hosted a Jezebel party there and also promoted her Belvedere Jagger Dagger. It was pretty fun!

Now the new week has started and I am already stressed out as hell! I’ve lotsa stuff to do because I’m going to Russia next week and need to take care of things before I leave and there’s also the World Sauna Challenge this Saturday. It’s a project from my university and I am a member of the planning team.

We’ll try to break the world record this Sat.! We will try to get as many different nationalities into 1 sauna as possible. The current record is 57. We have 82 nationalities registered so let’s hope all of them are coming!! (or at least 58 ). If everything goes as planned I’m gonna represent Germany in the sauna.

Some people of the Guinness World Record Commitee are coming and will film everything. They will “use” us for the GWR Day 2009 which is gonna be on Nov.12th. So stay tuned cuz u might see me on TV all sweaty and creepy looking because I am not getting enough sleep these dayzzzZZ…

Georgia May Jagger is Mick Jagger’s newest daughter to join the modeling world (along with Jade and Elizabeth Jagger). She’s only 17, but she’s already been featured in Vogue Paris, Vogue Russia, and is currently the new face for Hudson Jeans.

I personally think she’s gorgeous – she’s been dubbed ‘”the new Brigitte Bardot” because of her long blonde hair, big eyes, big lips, and the small gap between her teeth. Georgia is the daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall – so she’s bound to have amazing looks – just like the rest of Mick’s kids.

Rimango perplessa sulle capacità creative di Jade Jagger, proprio non riesco a considerarla una designer (piuttosto un nome che i brand ricercano per ovvie ragioni paterne). Penso che si diletti con i gioielli per passare il tempo, tuttavia, lo ammetto, mi piace la sua bocca obliqua in oro o in strass. La Kiss necklace è una collana che riproduce un bacio, io lo vedo storto, ma è questo che lo rende particolare tanto da attirare l’attenzione. Mi sembra anche che il sito sia nuovo o posizionato meglio sui motori di ricerca, perché prima era introvabile. Ci sono un sacco di novità, skull, gypsy, kiss e altro.

Sono stata da Luisa via Roma, il concept store di Firenze, e uno dei più interessanti a livello internazionale. Sul sito le collane della Jagger ci sono, al negozio non erano esposte nella vetrina principale (dove forse ci sono le novità) e quindi non le ho viste. E poi catturata dalle bellissime cose esposte me ne sono dimenticata…

Anzi infradito con pedigree quelle che Havaianas (gran bel sito, tra l’altro) ha commissionato ad una manciata di stilisti e celebrities varie, da Manolo Blahnik a Noemi Campbell (infradito col tacco, mah!), da Jade Jagger a Paul Smith. Coloratissime e sfiziose, le ciabattine fescion sono state vendute sul web e il ricavato devoluto in beneficenza.

Mary-Kyri Shoes are so hot, their heels leave little puffs of smoke in their wake and I had the absolute honour of scoring a sit down interview with this amazingly gifted Shoe Queen; even though she was really tired, having been out late the night before at Australia’s Next Top Model finale and just landing from a whirlwind international eight cities fly-around in 2.5 weeks, she still gas bagged with me about shoes, glorious shoes.

Mary-Kyri (aka MK for this story) is a force to be reckoned with, she’s focused, determined, has an incredible amount of energy and did I say totally gifted?  Like any entrepreneur, MK works long and hard but she’s so passionate about what she does, and like any entrepreneur the sacrifices are worth it and don’t really feel like sacrifices to her.

For those of you who aren’t aware of MK’s amazing story, her shoe designs started in the bedroom of her home in Adelaide and now grace international catwalks and celebrity feet in just over three years.  The first celebrity foot to be photographed wearing her Signature Shoe design, Elisav (below), was Kylie Minogue, and celebrity coveting has just snowballed from there to Kate Moss, Jade Jagger, Fergie, P!nk, Paris Hilton, the Kardashian’s and the Queen of Shoe Queens herself, Sarah-Jessica Parker.

Sassi Interrupt: of course my favourite is going to be this Elisav Spring/Summer 2009 pink design!

MK has built a reputation of creating beautiful and unique, high fashion shoes.  Unique is hard to do these days but MK does it and I had to find out her secret.  I quizzed her on her creative processes and her secret is  … I’ll let you know soon (hehe).  A quick backtrack, at the end of 2005 on a complete impulse MK sold her car and flew across to Italy (she’d never been overseas before and couldn’t speak Italian), secured meetings with the manufacturers that create footwear for brands such as Burberry, Prada and Versace and she worked on the factory floor learning every aspect there was in shoe making and launched her first collection ‘Virago’ in 2006.  That takes so much guts and self belief, I’m totally in awe.

Sassi Interrupt: My other favourite is the Luigu in the Lilac, hot, hot, hot!

MK is inspired by shapes, architecture, colours and nature.  She is completely fascinated (and a little bit obsessed, we all have our obsessions you know) with architecture.  Her fascination started when she was a little girl, her mother used to take her walking around the streets for hours admiring all the beautiful buildings and their intricate details.  This season’s Spring/Summer 09 Collection – Icena – was photographed at her God-father’s cliff side home in Adelaide … it’s so Grecian holiday!

And this season, MK developed the new ‘Mary-Kyri Sportz’ collection, a range of highly fashionable sneakers made entirely in Italy which display the same design lines and leathers as the stilettos.  And of course there’s a twist to the design of these shoes too … there is a little wedge inside the sneaker to give women a small lift without having to balance on a heel – created for women who can’t wear high heels.  MK loved creating this range, “it was so much fun and wasn’t hard at all she said.  “When I’m  creating my stiletto’s I’m in work mode, the sneakers were a completely different process and experience for me.”

So back to her creative secrets, the reason why I asked this was because when shoe lines (and fashion) come out, they all look similar because the designers are focused on matching the on-trend theme for that season and I wanted to know how MK created her collection maintaining her individuality but still being ‘on-trend’.

“I never look at other designers and what they are doing, she said.  “My creative process is all about feelings and emotions that I get from a theme.  For example, a voodoo theme, I write down what feelings, emotions and colours that theme conjures in me.  “From there I will hand draw around 100 shoe designs in a couple of days” (I know, I know crazily gifted woman!).  From there she culls and adapts and next stop the drawings and MK get on a big bird and fly to Italy where she spends a couple of weeks working the most insane hours to source her materials and that includes, buckles, heels, straps, etc creating the prototypes and from there the samples are made (in the leather) and then in a few months they are photographed, priced and her lookbook is sent out to her boutiques for ordering and onto the shelves and feet they go. Every collection MK does is a continual learning curve for her, she is a big ‘why’ person – another entrepreneurial sign.

As usual in my interviews, I have to ask some girlie questions and MK shares her answers to those now:

What five favourite things can’t you live without?

My family and partner; my stiletto’s; my passion; my phone and my lipstick.

Which Sassi Moment best describes you?

I’m definitely a bit of all of them; when I was an 18 y/o I would have definitely said being Shopwrecked, but now I’m a Just in Case gal.  I’m always travelling and my bags are ALWAYS overweight. I have been seen sitting on my luggage on the airport floor trying to get it closed just like Sassi does.

What is your favourite fun and girlie thing you like to do?

I absolutely adore window shopping but I don’t have much time for that anymore.  When I do get some downtime (which isn’t very often) I enjoy being pampered with a facial, massage and a mani and pedicure.

Who would you like to have at a girl’s night in and why?

It would definitely have to be Sarah Jessica Parker, she’s such a fashion icon and Bette Midler, she’s so funny and gorgeous.  I’ve seen her live and I grew up watching her and I just love her to bits.

So what’s next for MK?  I see handbags and gorgeous ballet flats … and … we will be seeing some ballet flats, flat boots and 5cm heels (her heels are currently 9cm-11cm) in her Winter 2010 Solaz Collection (in-stores February).  Summer 2010 samples are winging their way to MK’s office now, I can’t wait to see them.

A designer that has really been growing on us (and on stars such as Madonna, Gwen Stefani and Jade Jagger – fans of the label) is German Markus Lupfer, since he launched his own label in 1998 he has internationally become known for his ‘use of print, experimentationwith colors, exceptional knitwear and the intricate use of leather’. We love him for his mix of materials such as leather, sequins and fine wool to produce pieces which are not just super quirky and rebellious, but also extremely luxurious, feminine and irresistible. Marcus updates fine wool knit sweaters with splashes of sequins, word print, bows and ruffles to turn simple into stunning. His latest autumn winter collection features black, white and grey with pop ups of color (including those red Luella a/w 09′ like tights) and sequins. We love the silhouettes created by soft layering, strong shoulders, extreme harem pants that are actually extremely wearable by balancing out with a bare ankle and heels and carrot pants that start out baggy and end tight at the ankle which are surprisingly flattering and leg lengthening. An extremely strong collection of which all pieces can be dressed down or up to work for day and night. For example pair the Flower Skull Sweater (£205 via NET-a-PORTER.com) with grey spray on skinnies, patent ballet flats and an oversized tote for day. Or with these Black Rats Leggings by Sass and Bide (£93 via NET-A-PORTER.com) or these Nylon Tricot Micro-Mesh Two-Sided Leggings (£37 via American Apparel) a clutch bag and chunky black heels for night.

I’m addicted of Havaianas, actually i think every brazilian is… And is sososo popular all around the world that makes it even more adorable! So, Selfridges, the super cool english department store, is making a campaign to help the children with cancer in UK, they are selling exclusive models of Havaianas designed by different amazing top fashion people. My best is the last one pink by Jade, who is gonna give me, hun?!?

Urban Dictionary Definition:  ”feelings of admiration and adoration which a girl has for another girl, without wanting to shag said girl. Nonsexual attraction, usually based on veneration at some level.”

I am very much in love with The Boy. In fact, I think The Boy is smashing. I like the way he looks. I like to perv a bit when he gets out of the shower and doesn’t know I can see. And most of all, I really, really like having sex with him, and wouldn’t mind doing so every day for the rest of my life. So I’m pretty sure that I’m not actually a raging lesbian. Not that there is anything wrong with being a raging lesbian. Some of my best friends are raging lesbians and I love them dearly. I just don’t want to have sex with them. I want to have sex with him.

OK. Now that’s cleared up, I have something to get off my chest. I have girly crushes. Lots of them. I think girls ROCK. Not the bitchy, silly, playground type girls who live in a “he said, she said” kind of world. No No. They can bitch their way back to the bike sheds as far as I’m concerned, no time for that nonsense. No. I mean the bad-ass, sexy, bedhead girls who rock a look that’s part charity shop/part catwalk, marry men who play guitar, look like they drink straight from the bottle at after parties and who aren’t relying on anyone else to get them where they want to be.

It all started with Angelina back in the day. Before Brad and their 27 kids, before the Goodwill stuff, before she cleaned up her act. There was something about the rawness of her, the vulnerability, the strangeness, that just intrigued me. She was angry and broken and struggling and beautiful and strong and I found it fascinating.

Then it was all about Kate. Ahhhh, lovely little Kate from Croydon. All messed up and a little bit funny looking but oh so very stylish. Some of my favourite ever fashion shots are of Miss Moss, and come on, she bagged Johnny Depp (I wonder if he dressed up as a pirate?). Kate Moss is my all time favourite model – a fashion icon, one of the most recognisable faces of our generation. Yes she makes mistakes. But that’s what makes her so bloody brilliant.

Kate shared centre stage with Jade Jagger for a while, but they’re friends again these days so I don’t think they minded. Daughter of a Rolling Stone, Goat owner, Ibiza lover and founder of Jezebel? So cool she must be freezing.

And for now, it’s the newest rock kid on the block, the ever lovely Daisy Lowe. She’s young, kooky and refreshingly different. I love that she challenges the industry norm of stick thin models and says what she thinks – openly admitting she doesn’t know it all, that it’s hard growing up in the public eye and that she gets it wrong sometimes. We all do love. Giving up on Mark Ronson and following her heart back to true love Will Cameron? Good girl. Vivienne Westwood described Daisy as “a bombshell” and who are we to argue? VW is God!

So yes, I think these women are fabulous, sexy, fascinating, gorgeous and pretty damn marvelous actually. They are the beautiful and damned. But no, I do not want to have sex with them, get their phone numbers or even meet them. In fact, I think I’d hate to in case they weren’t quite so interesting in real life.

I think its nice for us girls to appreciate other girls, and like what they’re doing. I may not want to carry The Boys blood in a vial around my neck like Angelina did with Billy Bob, or hang out with Pete and get thrown in rehab like Kate, but I wouldn’t mind looking half as fabulous!

Looking at my little list, I notice they all show similar characteristics. Feisty, strong, wild, troubled, free. None of them are perfect, and none claim to be. They are girls who come from different backgrounds but are all going in the same direction and won’t let anything stop that – not broken hearts, drug scandals, family troubles or tabloid attacks. I like it. 

There’s enough bitching in this world. Time to show some girly love x
