tá bom, tá bom… a tendência do esmalte verde nem é mais tão tendência assim. mas se você, como eu, não teve a oportunidade de achar e comprar o jade da chanel, e não ficou satisfeita com o tom do menta, da risquè, e o pistache, da impala, faça o verde jade em casa.

One of the bright sides to Jade’s epilepsy (if you could call it that) is that we never take any of her developmental milestones for granted.  It felt like she stood still for such a long time.  Every step she moves forward feels like a huge triumph.

So you must pardon me when I tell you I was BURSTING with pride when Jade completed a 30-piece puzzle entirely on her own today.  You could have bowled me over with a feather.

But that’s not all!  When she finished that one, she did a 24-piece puzzle with a more challenging pattern on it and worked on it tirelessly (and alone!) for half an hour.  She told me she was missing some pieces and I looked and said, no, you just have a few pieces in the wrong spots, so she took them out, found the right places for them and then I realized that she really was missing a couple of pieces.  We found them in the puzzle box and she put them in place.

And then!  She took it all apart and started doing it all over again.

Anyone new to my blog will think I’m nuts, but inside I was doing a wild happy dance.

This whole project has turned out to be as much a test of my photography skills (almost nil, as you can see) as my ability to make jewelry.  But…did manage to make jewelry, take pictures, possess the mini-USB cable and the computer, download the pictures, and create this post.  GO ME!

So, here goes:

These earrings are made of really beautiful light green, circular swarovski crystal twist earrings.  These earrings also use sterling silver spacer beads and silver twist beads.  Additionally, these use lovely silver earring wires.  These light green crystals capture light wonderfully.

These earrings are very simple but quite lovely in their simplicity.  Approximately two inches long their length elongates the face and body of the wearer making them very flattering.  They are made of silver seed beads and beautiful, lime green oval jade stones.  They are hung on sterling silver earwires.

I love the funkiness (is that a word?) of these earrings.  They have a luminous shell look but are circular and glass.  The earrings incorporate sterling silver spacers and earwires.

This picture absolutely does not do these earrings justice.  They are made with gorgeous bright blue swarovski crystals and lovely sterling silver spacers.  They are wonderful!

This is a great little bracelet–it has really attractive symmetry.  It’s made with light green pearls, silver spacers, and silver seed beads.  They are fastened on stretch, elastic banding that makes is really easy and comfortable to wear.

As an aside, I used a bracelet just like this to try a really interesting practice that is designed to help enforce positive thinking.  Every time you have a negative thought about yourself, someone else, or something, you simply switch the wrist the bracelet is on.  This activity makes you acutely aware of your negative thoughts and helps you scale them back.  You could focus only on negative thoughts about yourself (for exmaple: “I look so fat.”) or complaining thoughts.  It’s an incredibly interesting and useful practice.

I’m sure we’ve all heard by now that green is the latest colour in nail polish trends. We had black, we had blue, and now it’s time for green to take center stage. Like seasons prior, this latest nail polish trend has been started by the latest Chanel runway show. Chanel sets trends – even with nail polish colours. It’s Chanel that brought us “Black Satin” and then “Blue Satin” and now they’ve brought us “Jade”. Why didn’t they call it “Jade Satin”? I thought we were going somewhere with that – I thought it was a pattern! Anyway, I usually wait for the OPI knockoff version to come about because we’re in a recession people! I can’t be paying $25.00 for nail polish! And OPI is really great at replicating the Chanel hot colours (ie Chanel’s “Blue Satin”…OPI’s “Russian Navy”). OPI’s “Jade” equivalent seems to be “Hey! Get in Lime”. And at $7.50 it’s a lot more budget friendly. I’m a bit iffy about green nails, but so intrigued, so I’ll probably be picking myself up a bottle sometime next week! I’ve been meaning to for quite sometime now. I’ll let you guys know how it goes…

Bom, esse aí é meu look de sábado a tarde, quando fui ao shopping.. eu sei que várias meninas comentaram pra eu sorrir nas fotos, mas como eu já tinha tirado antes, vocês perdoam né? hahaha Pode deixar que vou sorrir sim nas próximas! Aqui faz MUITO calor, se eu pudesse trabalhar de saia, nem preciso dizer que usaria todos os dias né? É isso aí bonitas, espero que tenham gostado! A regata é da Malwee (eu sei que é marca de criança mas eu adoro haha), a saia é de uma loja daqui de Londrina que chama Mix, e bolsa e rasteira da Arezzo. Esmalte: Jade da Big. Ah! Desculpem pela bagunça, mas quando eu vou me arrumar, meu quarto vira de ponta cabeça mesmo! Beijos!

Dois dos esmaltes mais procurados atualmente são o Jade (verdinho da Chanel) e o Matte (tem de várias márcas!).

Na verdade o Matte não é bem um esmalte, é tipo um acabamento que ao invés de deixar o esmalte com brilho, deixa fosco! Tipo o esmalte da Karen O nessa foto!

A única marca brasileira que resolveu fazer alguma coisa parecida foi a Big Universo

Fiz o teste do Jade ontem e achei que ficou um pouco neon, mas na Zazoza ficou ótimo! Depois, resolvi testar o Matte por cima do Jade e FAIL, não tentem em casa!
