Antonio called me yesterday at 6:08 pm while I was on my way home. I recognized his name on my cell phone screen.

“Hi Antonio!”

“Hey.”

“How are you doing man?” The tone of his voice was different. He was comfortable.

We exchanged more greetings as my son and my cousin listened in on the conversation.

“Allison gone till Sunday,” he said, sounding as if he was really missing her. 

“Really? But Tamian comes back on Friday, right?” I had to give him hope that his angels were not far away.

“Yes,” he replied, with a soft and relaxed tone.

I knew he was feeling more comfortable. I could tell by the sound of his voice.

“Are you going away too?”

My heart skipped a beat as I heard his voice asked the big question that all my men had been asking for months now and I knew that I was going to be honest with this young hopeful boy.

“No Antonio, I am not going anywhere right now. I will be here for a while.”

I then decided to ask him about his parents. “How do you feel now that your parents are back…?”

“Mi feel good.”

“Did you get into anymore problems? I hope that there is no more war.”

“No man.”

I told Antonio that I called St. Joseph’s on Wednesday to talk to Mr. Calmright but was told that he was out of office and that I could call again on Thursday. Antonio confirmed that Mr. Calmright was indeed away on Wednesday but would be back on Thursday.

Mediator

My cousin who is here visiting from the US called me a “mediator” this Ben Johnson morning. I smiled and told him that I was never trained as one but somehow God was using me to mediate in the lives of people in crisis.

“Yes man you are a mediator and a diplomat too.” He insisted.

I did not challenge his statement. If he felt that I was a mediator and a diplomat, then what could I say?

Then we started to talk about the grandparents and their way of life. I laughed out loudly, clapped my hands and jumped three times in the kitchen as I explained My Truth about Rastafari and the Church with Miss Liz paying close attention. 

My husband looked at me quizzically. He had never before heard me talk like that. He asked:”What is Babylon?”

And I explained.

There was silence.

Mrs. Prospect

I called Mrs. Prospect as promised to tell her about the interview. I knew she was eager to learn about the job prospect. I gave her all the information that I had about the organization with which I took the interview. 

“Oh!” She said.

It seems as if, at least for a moment, that some of my readers thought I was being self-serving.

I smiled.

They really do not know me. They do not know Mar Campbell at all.

Seems as if they were saying that I was going after Mary Clarke’s job…apparently she is about to retire. 

Good Lord!

I am here for a specific purpose 

Let me all assure you that I am not going after anyone’s job. I am here for a specific purpose; to sow (thanks Bethany), yes, sow “Seeds of Insight” using the positive energies of men across Jamaica and the world. I am also here to help women to smell the sweet scents just before dawn through my “Senses at Dawn.”

And I want to thank you all for taking this journey with me. I know you are reading because I can “see” you through my computer screen and I can feel your spirits. I can even tell when people translate my blog posts into a language that they understand.

I am here! I am living in a new world and I love it!

Don’t worry! I am not possessed by evil spirits. Rather, I am merely following God’s Design for my life and moving according to the will of the Universe.

Mientras leía una biografía de Bob Marley, titulada “Catch a fire: the life of Bob Marley”, escrita por el periodista musical Timothy White, tropecé con unos párrafos que no tienen desperdicio. En ellos, White relata la visión que tienen los rastafaris sobre el vaticano y la masonería, considerando al primero completamente infiltrado por la segunda . Por más estrafalarias que nos puedan parecer las creencias rastafaris, su visión sobre la hermandad y el Vaticano es interesante desde el punto de vista, de que se trata de un culto (el rastafariano) con las mismas raíces mitológicas (judío-cristianas) que el catolicismo, pero con la diferencia de que los rastafaris buscan liberarse de un sistema político y económico, impuesto por el hombre blanco, que oprime al hombre negro, y más concretamente, al del tercer mundo, algo evidente, pero obviado por el catolicismo, y que dota al análisis social de los rastafaris de una mayor profundidad. A continuación reproducimos dichos párrafos.

Los escarmentados veteranos rastas recordaban a los antiguos y ritualistas masones (en los 33 grados no desconocidos para los miembros comunes) como fieros paganos cuya fe oculta emanaba de su creencia en que Salomón extrajo sus poderes no de dios, sino de Hiram Abiff, el criminal arquitecto del Templo de Jerusalén, de quien se decía que había renunciado al favor del “Todopoderoso” a cambio del de una oscura trinidad centrada en Baal, deidad de los semitas. Ante los ojos de muchos de los rastas, era la arrogante conjura de Hiram Abiff, y no ninguno de los pecados de Salomón, lo que impulsó a dios a destruir el Templo, del mismo modo en que anteriormente echara abajo la torre de Babel erigida por masones. Y el papado (¡que osó condonar la invasión de Etiopía por Mussolini!), infestado por masones, se acabaría debido a la falta de honestidad de la logia P2. Semejantes acontecimientos modernos revelaban que el Vaticano era “el nombre oculto” o “la gran Babilonia”.

Desde 1738, durante el papado de Clemente XII (1730-40), la iglesia había tratado de erradicar la alta masonería con la publicación de edictos papales (10 entre 1821 y 1901) que ordenaba la excomunión de cualquier católico que ingresara en dicha sociedad masónica. Durante su etapa como monseñor en tiempos de guerra, Montini fue uno de los cuatro líderes del departamento de inteligencia del Vaticano. Gracias a Montini, el general William Donovan, de la Oficina de Servicios Stratégicos, o la OSS (precursora de la CIA), estableció vínculos permanentes con el Vaticano.

Los rastas pensaban, por tanto, que el primer “Santo Padre” con un pasado de espionaje moderno había permitido que el trono se Pedro se convirtiera en una herramienta de la CIA y de la P2, gracias a las maniobras de Michele Sidona y a las logias secretas del Gran Maestro, Licio Gelli (en cuya caso, la policía italiana acabó encontrando la lista con los 953 masones implicados en el plan de crear un Estado dentro del Estado italiano). Una vez Roma había abandonado su autoridad moral, el dinero se había convertido en su única fuente de poder.

Let me first start out by saying I was on Nationwide Radio in Kingston, Jamaica promoting an expo. I am the Event Officer for the expo. I didn’t want to appear on the programme but I eventually did. People who listened to the broadcast expressed that they were impressed and liked the delivery.

I have a personal issue that I will be working on. My demeanour does not speak of my potential and abilities. I hope I am expressing myself well. Most people who know me do not really KNOW ME. I appear to be reserved, laid back, unenergetic and conservative. Although that may be true, I have the ability to turn on the energy when needed. Some folks today call it an alter ego. I may be reserved but when the opportunity presents itself I turn into a total different person full of energy and life. It causes people who will offer opportunities to hold back because they don’t know what I am truly capable of.

I am a talented young man who is really underutilised in my job. So today, when I turned on the alter ego (no name for that person yet) my boss was really overwhelmed and seemed particularly impressed with my delivery. I want to get to the place where I turn it on all the time. I just hope I won’t turn people off.
You can’t have your cake and eat it, I guess.

Dancing with the Stars

Last night I watched the finale of the Dancing with the Stars. It was an entertainment night, filled with excitement and of course the revelation of the winner of the season. It was a surprise to see Donny Osmond win over Mya. I really think with all my heart that Mya would have taken the trophy home. I wanted to see her win. Her dance routine not ignoring her partner were always excellent and it reflects the perfect scores she received in the season.

However, the point must be noted that the core target audience may just have voted more for the winner. Clearly, if the winner was decided on the fact of delivery over the season then Mya would have won. Some people would argue that Kelly should have won based on the fact that she was the most improved. The fact is voting process was used and sometimes it isn’t fair.

So of course, with Donny winning someone else would have taken the night. Whitney Houston was simply fantastic. I will only say this – her addictions may have affected her voice but she certainly can still deliver a great performance. Her songs on the night, I am still on cloud nine over it. Sorry! The last song on the first video is one of my favourites from Houston so you could imagine my excitement and jumping in the house when she started to sing it. I have also posted a video of the song “I wana dance with somebody” from Whitney Houston back in the days. I have posted it because this is the real performance of the song. Enjoy.

The atmosphere was great … the weather stayed perfect and  to top it all off Lovevoodoo was there!!!

Never a dull moment as they say … from dusk till dawn … the club was up and swinging all the way up until  3am which had kicked off from as early as 11:30… the Piano bar was wild thanks to some people who will remain nameless… the shows were great, the games were fun and the staff amazing…

This year was great and we plan on making next year even better…

Sizzla travaille toujours voire trop : il sort en moyenne cinq albums par an et depuis une quinzaine d’années…

Le morceau Go Hard pourrait résumer aujourd’hui le travail du raggaman. Il s’agit de son dernier morceau produit sur Rokus Records, autrement appelé le Sizzla-Novembre 2009. Ça ne change pas et c’est bon.

Spice est l’une d’entre elles, une proche du dj dancehall Vybz Kartel. I had to post this photo in the Jamaica Observer showing the hundreds of knives that police brought in from one weekend of spotchecks.   This would give some indictation of just how many people walk around with knives in JA.

Shaw Clifton

The general of the US Salvation Army, Shaw Clifton is on a five day trip to Haiti to look into the problem of human trafficking in the Caribbean.  Especially around Haiti to the Dominican Republic but also Belize and Jamaica.  He said that there was forced prostitution going on.

I’ve written on this blog before about the problem of prostitution and the Haitian women in Jamaican go go clubs.    

Yardflex reported last year how an influx of Haitian women in the clubs was causing tension between them and the locals, but I think they’re missing the point about the choices available to these women and the decision to become prostitutes. 

Last year, there was a planned protest by Haitian prostitutes in the Dominican Republic, many of whom were later deported.   Their voice seems to hardly ever be heard.

The extent of the problem of human trafficking, like everywhere else, is not known.  There was some research into it, but it did not throw much light on the problem, but this woman – Sheila Nicholson who was a programme director of an organisation called People’s Action for Community Transformation (PACT), which worked with young Jamaicans at high risk of becoming victims of human trafficking, probably would be a good place to start to find out more.

If you’ve ever been into one of these go go clubs, sometimes they have hotels attached - I stayed one night at one of these hotels (I needed a cheap hotel!) , but Kingston and Jamaica have loads of them, it would not be hard to start uncovering some of the stories behind the darkened glass and flashing lights.

According to a report from Jamaica, the Caribbean island “is steadfast in its thrust to develop the local biofuels industry, producing ethanol from local feedstock and boosting exports of this highly valued fuel, under the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI).”

Jamaica’s Minister of Energy told local press that the Caribbean countries only met 71% of the total 2008 U.S. ethanol import quota of 452 million gallons. Jamaica exported 80 million gallons of Brazilian-made sugarcane ethanol to the United States and another 110 million gallons in 2008. According to Jamaica’s Energy Minister, the countries have never reached the capacity of the CBI ethanol quota, partly due to insufficient capacity, but production has been increasing over the past few years.

His Parents 

Allison called while I was having lunch at the EduVision conference at the Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay. I learned that Antonio did not go to court on Monday but went to the Child Development Agency (CDA) instead. His parents were there too. 

Hallelujah!

There are two parents alive and according to what I heard indirectly, ”they look well.” Sources told me that he would be going back to St. Joseph’s after leaving the CDA. I also heard that Antonio and his parents had a meal together.

Hallelujah!  

I thought about all the reasons why he would return to St. Joseph’s after meeting his parents again. I am sure the CDA knows best.

God, be with the mother at this time! Be with father, dear God. I pray for healing dear God and that you will make a way for this family. I pray for healing in the mighty name of Jesus. Hallelujah!      

I received a call from Antonio around 1:48 pm just after I returned to the Hanover Room to charge my cell phone. He verified what I had heard before. He was going back to St. Joseph’s that night. He said that there was a lady from the CDA who was working with them. He did not know her name.

I sat down in the lonely Hanover room and reflected on my life again. I thought about my children and then I gave thanks to Almighty God. 

As I placed the cell phone away in my purse, I remembered the woman who came over to talk to me after my presentation on “Seeds of Insight.” She said she would never forget me. She smiled with contentment as if she knew what my life was all about. 

“Have you read the ‘Secret?’ “ 

“No…not really…and you know what? I do not need to.”

I noticed that she had a bounded letter size document in her hand. I could tell that it was read many times as the pages and the plastic protector cover seemed worn.   

She smiled again, “You are right. You do not need to read it.”

I later found out that the lady is a nurse at a college in Middlesex County. I gave her my contact information and told her to take good care of my boy who is there as a freshman.  

I asked myself who sent the other woman in brown over to see me. She did not get a chance to hear my presentation but she came in as if on a mission and wanted to talk to me. She was looking for answers and I knew it. I held her hands and told her that there was a reason why she did not hear my presentation directly. It was the will of the Universe for her to enter the room when she did so that we could talk in a quiet environment.

I prayed for the other woman in red who stood there after the presentation as if she was in a trance. I knew she wanted to talk but she was not ready. She knew what I was talking about and what I hoped to achieve with “Seeds of Insight.”

 All I needed was thirty minutes to present my case. The Universe changed the conference programme around and shifted my presentation from a health focus to that of “affordable new technologies.” The mathematics professor from Connecticut, who presented just before I did, returned to the room, sat down and listened. He did not have to say a word. I knew I reached him. He is now another seed.       

The Challenge

When I came home I was drained but I was certain that something was happening. I took a shower and went to bed. I was just too tired to even think…the positive energies had battled with the negative ones and once again they were victorious.  I woke up at about 1:00 am and sent a brief e-message to Kennesaw and entered a post on my Facebook page.

I am now ready for the challenge!

An e-mail from a very wise man 

There was an e-mail waiting for me that was not opened until the wee hours of the morning. It was from a man I met recently. He was concerned about the following:

*              “Does Antonio know what it means to be made a ward of the state?”

*              “Will the judge have a completed social enquiry on Antonio today in court?”

*              “There are clear admission guidelines at the —– Children’s Home. All admissions must be wards of the state. The CDA placement officer makes recommendation for placement; and must inform the home at least one month before placement can take effect.”

The man said that he ”cannot make admissions in conjunction with concerned citizens; there is a process.”
  

I told him that I understood.

So far at Bruk we’ve been fairly neutral over the Gully/Gaza debate/all out war. Faced with Mavado or Vybz Kartel we just choose Busy Signal. But levels are high this month in the land of bashment, and we’re calling it a one-all draw here.

This is not a childhood memory but a funny one nonetheless.  When I was living in Montego Bay, I had a business called “It’s a Personal Thing” offering services such as Massage therapy, waxing, reflexology, and facials.

I got a chance to do my first (and subsequently only) brazilian wax.  As I pulled off the hair, screaming could be heard emanating from my booth.  Finally when I finished, the client looked at me quite calmly and asked “why were you screaming?”

“We will draw up contracts with new immigrants. Newcomers should learn German and uphold values such as freedom of speech and sexual equality, said Commissioner for Immigration Maria Boehmer. Anyone who wants to live here for a long time and who wants to work has to say ‘Yes’ to our country.”

Now pray tell what Jamaicans would do if the USA/UK/Canada ever implemented such a policy? Oh how we love to proudly proclaim our heritage and how morally upstanding we are. Would we give our word and our honor to upholding these values which include “sexual equality” i.e. tolerance and acceptance of homosexuals as a valid and equal part of society (as well as equality between the sexes)? Or, would we stay ah yard?

Given that most Jamaicans have no problem keeping their mouths shut and living and working for extended periods of time in “freaky freaky” foreign, I don’t foresee that we will stop selling ourselves and our morality and our honor for a little cash. Don’t fool yourself, that is exactly what we are doing. If allowing gays to live freely and openly in Jamaica is wrong and immoral and we should not stand for it, then how can you deliberately remove yourself from a God fearing society and go somewhere which stands for such immorality? Is that not hypocrisy and prostitution? STAND UP I say! Do not wait for them to try to legally bind you to your sin, leave any countries which are not on the same page with Jamaican morality NOW.

Indiferent de scopuri, de tematică sau de politica editorială a unei instituţii de presă, un act jurnalistic autentic nu trebuie să transmită informaţii false, sau informaţii care să inducă publicului concluzii eronate sau distorsionate.

Pro TV este de departe televiziunea care a întrecut orice măsură de bun simţ în goana nebună după audienţă şi lăcomia nemăsurată pentru profit.

Mă refer acum numai la varianta online a ştirilor Pro TV. De ceva timp încoace acest site oferă pe bandă rulantă vizitatorilor o serie de filmuleţe preluate de pe tot felul de site-uri cu conţinut video, axate pe exploatarea senzaţionalului, ce prezintă tot felul de accidente, grozăvii, anomalii, pornografie şi tot felul de ciudăţenii.

Aceste site-uri îmi sunt cunoscute de mai mulţi ani şi ştiu că acest gen de materiale sunt gustate în special de puştii fără ocupaţie care stau toată ziua pe Internet, vizionează aceste filmuleţe şi le trimit apoi prin mass-uri pe Yahoo Messenger.

Pro TV prezintă astfel de filmuleţe “bolnave” pe post de ştiri, fără să se documenteze practic deloc, în legătură cu evenimentul respectiv, referitor la  data când a avut loc (unele din ele sunt vechi de 3- 4 ani), locul şi contextul în care s-a produs acesta. La toate acestea se mai adaugă nişte reclame deranjante care acoperă câteva secunde bune din clip şi care sunt puse în continuare în ciuda protestelor numeroase ale vizitatorilor.

Aşa este şi în cazul articolului de aici, în care ni se spune că:

Modul in care se distreaza africanii in cluburi este putin iesit din comun fata de ce eram obisnuiti sa vedem in discotecile autohtone.

Miscarile si unduielile provocatoare din ringul de dans mimeaza la perfectie un act sexual. Femeile, tratate ca “obiecte” de satisfacere, se lupta sa-si tina partenerul cat mai aproape.

Ideea indusă de articol este că africanii sunt nişte maimuţe fără creier care în loc să danseze în discotecă se droghează şi mimează acte sexuale în public.

Vizitatorii site-ului dovedesc însă că sunt mult mai bine informaţi decât profesioniştii de la Pro TV şi îşi dau seama că nu este vorba despre africani ci de jamaicani. Iar dansul respectiv este un dans foarte popular în Jamaica, numit daggering. Plus de asta unul dintre comentatori susţine faptul că nu este vorba despre un club african ci de repetiţiile pentru filmarea unui videoclip.

What is daggering? Some call it “dry sex” on the dance floor of a dance or party, but daggering is where a man and woman are dancing in a sexually provocative manner, which usually includes them simulating various sexual positions, and often times, rough sex, to the beat of whatever music is playing at the time. In recent times, dancehall artistes RDX and Mr. Vegas have both released daggering songs in tribute to the newly accepted name for an action / activity that has been present in Jamaica’s dancehalls for many years.

Unii îl numesc “sex pe uscat”, pe podeaua ringului de dans dintr-un club sau de la o petrecere, dar daggering este atunci când un bărbat şi o femeie dansează într-o manieră sexual provocatoare, care de obicei include simularea de diverse poziţii sexuale şi adeseori, sex dur, pe ritmurile melodiei care se aude la un moment dat.
