There were some interesting comments made by Terrell Owens regarding the possible chance for James Hardy to get on the field this weekend.

Owens when asked to reflect on his season in Buffalo commented on how he has helped some of the younger receivers on the roster.

“I’ve been here to help a lot of young guys kind of blossom their skills and perfect their craft,” said Owens. “James (Hardy) was itching to get on the field and he’ll get his chance this weekend to play a little bit.”

That doesn’t sound overly promising, but it’s a strong indication that he’ll be active this weekend. If it’s accurate perhaps some of the reasoning lies in the fact that Brian Brohm while running the scout team in practice the past five weeks has been throwing mainly to Justin Jenkins and James Hardy. There’s some on field chemistry between Brohm and Hardy, at least more than with some of the starting wideouts, who Brohm only threw to on Wednesday for the first time.

But when interim head coach Perry Fewell was asked about that possibility he was pretty clear.

“That doesn’t make its likely that Hardy would get on the field,” said Fewell. ”I’m still interested in getting the best 45 on the field for game day. With our situation we have several people that are out. If I’m able to put James or Steve Johnson on that 45 on Sunday I will do so. That doesn’t mean that if Brian plays or Ryan plays, it doesn’t guarantee that those young men will play.”

If NFL Baller James Hardy looks familiar to you, it’s probably because he has been spotted on the arm of Lil Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Carter for most of the year. The two were set up on a blind date during the taping of the “Tiny & Toya” show and hooked up shortly afterwards. They were cute together!

They tell me that James is now single and ready to mingle. I’m not sure if it had anything to do with the many gifts Toya recieved from other men during her birthday celebration (She’s a pretty girl, she has options!!!) but he’s definitely up for grabs ladies!

“Which one?” I hear you screaming, LOL!

Well, Wayne brought his son Dewayne Michael Carter III along to his daughter’s birthday party over the weekend, showing off his 1-year old son (with Sarah, baby mama #2) for the very first time! And my, isn’t he a CUTIE!!

If you haven’t been following the rapper turned sperm donor’s baby mama drama, you may not know who the lil’ boy’s mother is, so you can hop on over to one of my recent posts which features a pic of the chick.

In other Carter news, Lil’ Wayne’s ex wife Toya has apparently moved on from James Hardy, and onto Memphitz from BET’s The Deal! I was like “NOoOoooOooo!” when I heard this; that dude is HOT for sure! Here’s a pic of him…

He was at Toya’s birthday party a few weeks back, but kept a low profile.

Here’s the official rundown of injured players for the Bills and their level of participation in practice Thursday. New to the injury list were Nic Harris, who watched practice due to illness and James Hardy, who was limited with a groin injury. DT Kyle Williams practiced on a limited basis.

With respect to Williams specifically, interim head coach Perry Fewell was glad to see the defensive tackle practicing.

“I was very encouraged,” said Fewell. “It’s always good to have him on the football field. Just to have him in a limited fashion was good.”

Did not practice
LB Keith Ellison (thigh)
FS Jairus Byrd (groin)
DT Marcus Stroud (knee)

We do a weekly update on major NFL transactions. We include signings, releases, and also players who are put on injured reserve, because they are lost for the year. You can check out the Week 8 transactions here and work your way back through the season.

Additions

Lions (add CB Jack Williams) – Williams was the player that the Broncos cut to add Ty Law late last week, and he was obviously in demand as four teams put in a waiver claim. He went to Detroit, which cut Jason David in favor of Williams. That’s the kind of move a bad team needs to make, because while Williams probably isn’t a starting-quality corner, he could end up being a nickel or dime guy down the line. Once again, the Lions showed aggressiveness in adding a guy who might be able to help, which is a good sign.

Raiders (add DT William Joseph) – The Raiders brought back Joseph, a former first-round pick by the Giants, and cut former starting OG Paul McQuistan. In other words, they shuffled the deck chairs. The Titanic? It’s still sinking.

Subtractions

Chiefs (cut RB Larry Johnson; put OG Mike Goff on injured reserve) – We broke down Johnson’s cut on our MVN blog. The Chiefs also put Goff, a long-time starter in Cincinnati and San Diego who moved to K.C. this year and started seven of eight games, on injured reserve and signed Justin Rogers to take Goff’s roster spot.

Panthers (put LB Thomas Davis on injured reserve) – Davis had been a big playmaker at the strong-side linebacker spot, but he suffered a knee injury that will sideline him over the rest of the season. That’s a blow to a Panthers defense that has just a placeholder at the other OLB spot in Na’il Diggs. Carolina promoted LB Kelvin Smith from the practice squad to take Davis’ roster spot.

Browns (put LB Eric Barton on injured reserve) – Barton was one of the ex-Jets that Eric Mangini brought over to install his defense in Cleveland. Now he’s one of two starting inside ‘backers who is out for the year. That’s a blow to a Cleveland D that is bad to begin with. The Browns signed Josh Stamer to take Barton’s roster spot.

Bengals (put WR Chris Henry and S Roy Williams on injured reserve) – The Bengals suffered two big blows because of injuries this week. Henry, the team’s No. 3 receiver and top deep threat, broke his arm vs. Baltimore last week and is gone for the year. Williams, who has been starting at safety, suffered a forerarm injury as well. These injuries will test the Bengals’ depth. To fill these roster spots, Cincy promoted WR Maurice Purify from the practice squad and brought back OG Scott Kooistra, whom they had cut last week.

Eagles (put CB Ellis Hobbs on injured reserve) – The Eagles took two blows at cornerback this week. Hobbs, who was not only a corner but also the team’s kickoff returner, sustained a neck injury that ended his season. Meanwhile, fourth corner Joselio Hanson was suspended four games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. To replace the two corners, the Eagles signed CB Ramzee Robinson (who can also serve as a returner) and promoted CB Jack Ikegwuono from the practice squad.

Buccaneers (put S Will Allen and LB Rod Wilson on injured reserve) – The Bucs suffered two injuries to defensive players. Allen, who had been playing as an extra defensive back, suffered a thumb injury. Wilson, more of a special-teamer, suffered a shoulder injury. To replace them, Tampa re-signed LB Matt McCoy and promoted CB Derrick Roberson from the practice squad.

Redskins (put S Chris Horton on injured reserve) - Horton, who started 10 games as a rookie, started five more this season with more limited success as a sophomore. Now he will miss the second half of the season with a toe injury. To replace Horton, the Redskins brought back RB Quinton Ganther.

Giants (put LB Gerris Wilkerson on injured reserve) – Wilkerson was a backup linebacker, and, as importantly, a special-teams ace. But a wrist injury will end his season. To replace him, the Giants added CB D.J. Johnson, who will step in on some special-teams coverage units.

Bills (cut RB Xavier Omon) – The Bills thought Omon had promise, but he couldn’t find a role behind Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson. So he was finally cut so that the Bills could activate WR James Hardy from the physically unable to perform list.

Roscoe Parrish was added to the injury report on Friday.

Head coach Dick Jauron revealed that Parrish suffered an injury in practice.

“He twisted his knee during practice,” said Jauron. “And he did not finish, so we’ve listed him as questionable.”

Parrish has been inactive for each of the last three games, so his availability is likely not of any major concern, especially now with seven receivers on the 53-man roster after James Hardy was added on Wednesday.

Omon has appeared in just six career games (four in 2009), so he still has practice squad eligibility. It’s presumed that provided Omon clears waivers that the Bills will sign him to their eight-man practice squad.

Of course that means they will also have to move a player off their practice squad to make room for Omon should that be the course of action they take.

As happy as James Hardy must be getting back on the active roster, he probably is not happy that it comes at the expense of one of his fellow draft classmates of 2008.

Bills head coach Dick Jauron is prepared to make a decision on James Hardy, but it’s unlikely

Bills head coach Dick Jauron is prepared to make a decision on James Hardy, but it’s unlikely to come this week.

“James has done a real nice job. We have that 21-day window and my understanding is it runs right through next Wednesday, so we’ll keep looking at it and look at our roster and see what we can do and what we think at that point,” said Jauron. ”We’ll run it right up to the time.”

The deadline for Jauron and his staff to make a decision is Nov. 11, and it sounds as if Jauron intends to use all of the time allotted to him to make that call.

It probably won’t happen this week, but WR James Hardy stands a very good chance of being acti

It probably won’t happen this week, but WR James Hardy stands a very good chance of being activated next week when the 21-day window in which he can practice with the team while still on Reserve/PUP closes.

“Unless something unexpected occurs I think you could definitely lean that way,” said Dick Jauron of Hardy’s chances of being added to the 53-man roster. ”We have to see where it goes personnel-wise where we have to go.”

Upon having it relayed to him that there’s a good chance he’ll be brought up to the active roster, Hardy sounded pleased.

“That’s great news I’m ready,” Hardy said. ”I feel great. I feel I’ve had two weeks to come back. I’ve done pretty well in practice and now I just want to move forward so I can get back on the field.”

The 21-day practice window closes on Wednesday Nov. 11. At that point the team must decide whether to activate him or put him on season ending injured reserve.

The roster decision is where things get sticky. Buffalo has to move a player off the 53-man roster to make room for Hardy. None of the injured players appear to have a season ending injury, which would move them to injured reserve and create a roster opening.

Really the crux of the issue with Hardy is the fact that the Bills already have six receivers on their roster and it’s very unusual to carry seven. Unless the team decides to I-R an injured player, they could very well waive another receiver.

The only receiver that has been inactive the past two games has been Roscoe Parrish, who served as the team’s emergency quarterback.

As for how Hardy has performed in a week and a half of practice Jauron gave the following assessment.

“I think he’s been doing fine,” said Jauron. ”I know that I told you at the end of the first week he said he was very sore, but that was his first week of football in a long, long time. He’s confident, he’s gaining more confidence every day. He’s running routes every day against the defensive backs and he’s competing and he wants it. He really misses it.”

Bills WR James Hardy is working his way through his second week of practice, but he’s just eig

Bills WR James Hardy is working his way through his second week of practice, but he’s just eight days into the 21-day window that the team has to evaluate where he’s at and if he’s ready to rejoin the active roster. Head coach Dick Jauron commented on where Hardy stands at this point.

“He’s in that 21-day window and we’re entering the second week of it so he’s doing well,” said Jauron. “He’s practicing hard. He said at the end of last week he was sore. He told me he was sore, but it was the kind of soreness you would get when you haven’t been practicing at all. It was muscle soreness that kind of thing. I had a talk with him yesterday, he said he’s feeling good.”

As for when they’ll make a roster decision him Jauron is happy to use all the time allotted to the team.

“We’ll just see where it goes because we have the 21 days and we’ll see what occurs in that time, but he’s done well.”

James Hardy may have returned to the practice setting on Wednesday, but the Bills coaching staff won

James Hardy may have returned to the practice setting on Wednesday, but the Bills coaching staff won’t be rushing to make any decisions on his status with respect to the active roster.

“His time frame is real clear,” said Jauron. “We have 21 days from the start of it and then we have to make a decision. he hasn’t been on the field in a long time, it’s been close to a year. So we’ll take it a little bit slow. In other words it’s not going to be this week. Hopefully that doesn’t disappoint him, but I think that would be a little bit careless.

“It’s just great to see him back out there. I watched him on a number of routes that he ran for our look squad and he ran hard and he doesn’t seem to favor it at all. And he’s worked awfully hard to come back so we’re excited to have him. And now that the clock is running, we’ve got 21 days and we’ll see where it goes.”

Presumably the staff will watch him for a couple of weeks in the practice setting and make a call on his status. However, with six receivers already on the roster it’s going to be interesting to see what the coaching staff decides to do. Having 7 receivers on a 53-man roster is unusual.

Bills head coach Dick Jauron hasn’t dressed Roscoe Parrish the past few games, but he made it

Bills head coach Dick Jauron hasn’t dressed Roscoe Parrish the past few games, but he made it clear that he intends to keep Parrish on his roster.

When asked if there’s a role for Roscoe Parrish on returns moving forward or even on the team, Jauron responded with the following.

“Well definitely on the team, there’s no doubt about that,” said Jauron. “I think we’ll just stay where we’ve been where we’ll go week to week making the decision on Roscoe, whether it’s active or not. Obviously very happy with Fred (Jackson) and what he’s done in the return game. But (there’s) definitely a place for Roscoe on our football team.”

Buffalo has a roster decision to make in an hour (4pm) if they in fact activate James Hardy to the 53-man roster before today’s deadline. Judging by Dick Jauron’s comment this afternoon that roster move will not be made at Parrish’s expense.

Hollaatyourgirl.com reports: Lil’ Wayne’s ex wife Toya, celebrated her birthday with her

Hollaatyourgirl.com reports:

Lil’ Wayne’s ex wife Toya, celebrated her birthday with her new man James Hardy and close friends last night in ATL, and one of her presents has caused some controversy.

Here’s what James got her – a pink handgun…

Hollaatyourgirl.com reports:

… and soon after, Toya Tweeted “I Love It”! Like, is she for real? Wasn’t it just last week Toya’s baby daddy Lil’ Wayne pleaded guilty to gun possession??? What kind of message are they sending their young daughter, who just so happens to have a Twitter account!?! SMDH.

UPDATE:

Looks like I’m not the only one that’s completely outraged, here’s a letter that was sent into BET:

I love that there’s an African American company that promotes black entertainment. I think BET does a wonderful job with exploring and reaching the urban communities. But I have an issue that just came up. You guys ran a reality show with “Toya and Tiny” a couple of months ago. What I got from that show was two young ladies attemtping to move from the view of their kids father. I guess you guys were attempting to send a positive message. But not even 6 months later, Toya is publicing a recent birthday gift which is a hand gun on twitter with a comment, “I love it.” Besides Wayne just appearing in Court for a handgun charge and her daughter actually being on twitter, I think it’s very disrespectful and inappropriated for Toya to display this type of behavior. It truly doesn’t send a positive message. African Americans already has to face the challenge of sterotypes and sigmas that society has placed on our culture. I think Toya is a nice young lady but made a bad chose. Please remind
her to always represent herself in a positive manner no matter where she is and regardless to who her audience is. We not only represent ourselves, we represent a nation of people like us.

I was very bothered by Toya’s most recent twitter picture and comment. And can’t image if anyone else feel the same way.

Best regards,

Urban Community

Well, well, well, at least last night wasn’t ALL about guns; there was time for Lil’ Wayne’s baby mama #1 & #2 to crack a smile for the cameraman…Hollaatyourgirl.com reports:

Cheers to Child Support!
