Ultra Records is another dance music mega brand and Ultra Dance is one of many lines of mix CDs.  

Ultra Dance 10 is a 2009 mix of dance remixes of songs from big time pop stars. This is a mix of the trendiest big name dance music available. 

I like Ultra mixes a bit better than most of the other commercial dance brands. There is a bit more progression and a bit of focus on the DJ. Plus, they license pretty big name material.

This mix starts with a T.I. and Rihanna track and goes from there. It is pretty good for a commercial mix.

Am 07/04 hatten wir Gäste aus Kassel. Pieré und Chi, sowie Maik tb aus Hannover besuchten uns. Zusammen mit DJ Andre Michelle stieg eine geile Party. Die letzten verließen um 9.00 Uhr morgens das feiernde Schiff.

Am 14/04 war der Laden zu, doch wir hatten ja noch den Ostersonntag(16/04). Michael Gruman und Massimo liefen bei uns auf und zu guter letzt schickte Jeremy Gurl die Bielefelder in einen  Ostermontag der für die letzten erst nach diversen privaten Afterhouren zuendegehen sollte.
Farley Jackmaster Funk war es dann, der am 21/04 erneut die Bielefelder ins Madhouse zog. 400 Körper schoben sich angeheizt von housigen Rhythmen durch den Laden.
Ein heißes Wochenende sollte dann am 28/04 von Jeremy eingeleitet werden, der von Joey Vasquez abgelöst wurde und zum Schluß hin an Andre Michelle übergab. Und da man+frau nach so feinen Klängen nicht  nach Hause will, wurde bei strahlenden Sonnenwetter der ausklang in diversen Parks gesucht.

Am Sonntag ging es dann auch sogleich weiter. Joe Lewis ließ ein Housegewitter über uns her-einkrachen und der Laden kochte, Ars Larson ,der schon kurz vor Joe aufgelegt hatte übernahm dann später wieder und gab dann an den gerade aus Hamburg zurückgekehrten Jeremy weiter, die Stimmung war bombig.

Im neuen Monat ließen uns Andre Michelle und Daniel Klein eine housige Nacht verleben. Der laden war mit 350 klebrigen Körpern gefüllt und es wurde gefeiert bis die Sonne wieder ihre warmen Strahlen zu uns sannt. Sie gab uns wieder Kraft für den Samstagabend. Das Neuroserve lud uns zu neuen Schandtaten ein. Andre Michelle feierte seinen Geburtstag und die Mauern bebten zu den Klängen von Andre, Kaspar und Ralf Noetzel. Zu Acid klangen glitten die Gäste durch Nebelschwaden und blauem Licht. Später gaben noch Jeremy und Ringel ihr können zum besten, bis um 12.00  die 20 letzen Fanatiker ihr Glück in der Natur suchten.
In den nächsten Wochen erwarten wir dann Gäste wie T.B.A.(Basti)12/05, Jason Nevins(19/05), Keoki(26/05) und  Roland Caspar(02/06), everytime supported bei Andre Michelle and Jeremy Gurl.

Cool. That’s another one for today. Talk a bit about music, I’m loving some really cool remixes, mostly pretty old stuff, but they are addictive. if you have a chance, check them out:

- The Saturdays – Up (Wide Boys remix)

- Britney Spears – Break The Ice (Jason Nevins rock remix): this one’s old but still loving it

- Adele – Cold Shoulder (Basement Jaxx classic remix): one of my favourite remixes of all time. can’t stop listening to this

- Metronomy – Heartbreaker (Kris Menace remix): just found this gem of remixes last night thanks to Melanie (http://blog.melaniecrete.com/) and now can’t stop listening to it!

Last but not least, a new one: Britney’s upcoming single Circus got remixed by Jason Nevins pretty neatly.

Jason Nevins Original Radio Edit – Seems like this track really died down once “Hot N Cold” started getting airplay. Alright remix, but I have high expectations for Jason Nevins. 6/10

Jason Nevins Radio Edit – Guy’s obviously been busy recently, and a decent house remix of this track has been long overdue. Slightly above average, I just wish he did more with the beat. 6/10

Jason Nevins Radio Edit – The original version of this track is getting a few spins and should be breaking out soon. This is Michelle’s second single off her new album “Unexpected” to hit the remix circuit and Jason Nevins is a great name to have remix your track. He does a decent job on this, but I was hoping for a little more fist pumping. 6/10

the george sampson backlash has started already. i’m not usually in favour of kids but this is not your average brat. those who have labelled him a chav are disgusting - vilifying children, or in fact adults, who dare to appreciate anything other than dull plodding indie and rock music is pathetic.

this kid deserves to win britain’s got talent, and anyone griping about the other acts being more deserving are missing the point. this is a cash prize and a chance to leverage the exposure of being on tv. once. at the royal variety which no one has watch in 15 years.

i would not have wanted another singing act to win. why is it the uk is so bothered about opera all of a sudden? i’m an operatic x factor would die on its arse. that andrew johnston kid that played the bullying card was annoying and did not take defeat well (which i enjoyed). faryl is not 12. i liked paul potts last year but we’re still suckers for nessun dorma 18 years after that world cup, aren’t we?

and for the money aspect, i would not have liked buck toothed escala to do well. they don’t need the cash  -clearly that brunette can just ask daddy to pay for her much needed nose job. 100k would not have bought that dog girl a personality.

any of the others i would have been pleased for. i loved nemisis although next year i would so love to see dance acts that do not employ any of the following: masks, robotics, identical costumes, anyone under 13, irish music, ‘it’s like that’ and any theme whatsoever. themes are limiting and the rocky horror show was crap the first time round. those cheeky monkey kids were demonic.

oh – now that mrs o has gravitated stateside, can we get the hoff over here to replace piers next year? ta.

In any case, last season’s winner, Jordin Sparks, did remind me somewhat of Kelly Clarkson. Modest, talented, and just out there doing her thing and doing it well.

And, as was the case with Kelly Clarkson, Jordin’s handlers at 19 Entertainment have smartly decided to run her singles through remixers, hoping to build momentum and popularity in the club scene. And, like Kelly Clarkson, that job has been done reasonably well with Jordin’s single, Tattoo.

Much of the reason the song works at all, let alone as a dance single, is that it’s a decent song with solid lyrics. Written by Ian Dench, Erik Hermansen and Amanda Gosein, the team reasonable for Beyoncé and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar among others, the song has a catchy melody and words that sort of beg to be sung along with.

There are a number of mixes available, but the one I spin was done by Jason Nevins, who talents were brought to bear on Kelly Clarkson’s Since U Been Gone (amazing how things sort of come full circle, isn’t it?). Nevin’s fast tempo yet still housey take on Tattoo is artfully executed end-to-end, and allows Jordin’s powerful vocal to shine through in its full glory—something that’s not done often enough in dance tracks it seems (probably because in many cases, the vocalist just isn’t that great).

In any event, I’d really digging the song, and all the mixes I’ve heard I enjoy. Good work, Jordin—and the “power team” at 19 that has no doubt been assigned to ensure she’s as successful (and profitable) as possible.
