My Grade: Watch It

Last night I had my FINAL exam Don’t ask me how it went, because I don’t care. I’m doneeeeeeeee

Marks wise, it might be one of my lower terms. I would tell you the low mark of the term, but I am one of those keeners. You know the type who sits in the front row of class, asks lots of questions, bombards professor office hours and pushes her glasses up her nose with her index finger? That is me in a nut-shell I told my dad my lowest mark in a whiney complaining tone (Mostly because my professor was mean to me. He send me an email telling me that I have no interest in the course :O ) and he started laughing at me. In his EXACT words “Kanna, stop being such a nerd. Don’t say this kind of thing in public”.

I will follow my wise fathers advice

Speaking of glasses, my dad got new glasses that have those sun-glasses clip ons (or should I say cooling glasses clip ons?). My dad wears it all the time, and is pretty convinced that he is the coolest person EVER.  Of course he is right. My dad is stylin’.

Holiday Madness

I am sure all of you are anxiously waiting to hear what I have planned for the holiday? No? I’ll tell you anyways Well, my holiday plans include snow tubing, lots of baking, hanging out with friends, a few parties here and there (New years etc), lots of movies, sleeping in! Does this even SOUND like my life? Definitely NOT! This is definitely a ‘vacation’ for me. A ‘do-nothing’ kindof vacation that I never ever get, and I am excited. Infact, today, me and my girls are going shopping near my university town. Then some other friends are coming to my house tonight for pizza/baking/movie! Fun first day eh? Tomorrow I am catching the opening day of “Three Idiots” with my family! I haven’t been to the theatre in ages! My parents seemed visibly disappointed that my sister and I were going to intrude on their ‘date time’.

Since we both left the house in September, my parents have been getting a LOT of quality ‘date time’.

Cute? Maybe. It usually sends me into fits of laughter when my mom texts me from her iPhone (A way-too-fancy gift for her poor Voda-Fone owning daughter. Vaatafone!) saying “Guess what? Daddy is taking me to a movie and dinner “. Gross

VERY important updates

I went to the JAY SEAN CONCERT last week! And it was good. short, but good I was even INTERVIEWED, because I was with one of the few white girls hahahhaa. The second the camera started rolling, the guy interviewing us was like “so I’m with a white girl!”. I started laughing. I possibly made a fool of myself on camera. It went well, but at the end they were like “Do you have any words for Jay Sean?” And I said “amazing “. Which was clearly a failure compared to all the other girls he interviewed who were like, “OMG MARRY ME I LOVE YOUUUU”. So out of my character. I will have to load up some pictures. Jay Sean rocks my socks. That is all.

We also had a Christmas party at our house. EVERYONE adhered to the colour theme, which was actually sooo awesome! My little laddooo (My favourite cousin, and the baby of my life ) had an AMAZING time, and made everyone laugh with his antics. He was the only 2 year old to successfully participate in musical chairs. It was actually HILARIOUS, because he won TWO rounds.

Of course I did all this the weekend before my exam, because I am such a party animal And my parents were like proud of me too. They’re like “weekend before her exam and look at how relaxed she is” Hahahaha. Thank goodness I have relatively cool parents.

Anyways, I will try to be regular for the next two weeks, if I’m not partying too hard!

December 11– Prior to the start of Z100’s Jingle Ball concert, several artists took a trip through the H&M Gift Lounge. Several performing artists, as well as other celebrities, were able to choose from an assortment of gifts from brands such as Wonka, Verizon, Duracell, and several others.

Among the talent that turned out were American Idol finalist Adam Lambert, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, and Justin Bieber, who all later performed at the concert. The bands Boys Like Girls and The Fray, pop singer Ke$ha, and Jay Sean made sure to attend the gift lounge.  Also present were actresses Anika Noni Rose (Disney’s The Princess and The Frog), Katrina Bowden (30 Rock), actor Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty), comedian Judah Friedlander (30 Rock), and many others.

Some of the best gifts of the night that attendees were able to choose from included a new Verzion Wireless Droid phone, a $500 gift card and VIP Shopping Pass to H&M, a WONKA Purple Card that entitled the holder to a year’s worth of candy, and a year’s supply of their favorite flavor of 5 Gum.

One very special stand came from Duracell, who displayed the Duracell Power Rover. This bicycle-like device allowed riders to continuously pedal the machine, which in turn, generated energy. This energy will be harnessed to power the 2010 numerals in the Times Square New Years Celebration. All those who attended the lounge were more than happy to donate their time to help power such an iconic image.

All those who attended the Gift Lounge seemed to enjoy the selection quite a bit. When selecting his 5 Gum flavor, Owl City’s Adam Young told an attendant “I’ve never kissed a girl, but now I’m ready!” Judah Friedlander spent nearly 30 minutes setting up his new Verizon Wireless Droid at the Verizon stand, and pop singer Ke$ha, while receiving her gift card to H&M, was overheard telling her publicist “please make sure we don’t lose this one, I’m going to use it after the show.”

It was a very productive day for all those who attended the H&M Gift Lounge as well as those who helped run it. The talent were happy with their new gifts, and the representatives of the individual companies were more than happy to spread the word about their product.

I don’t understand why people are still hiring Lil Jon to yell in their songs. Wasn’t that fad replaced with auto-tune and hooks that comprised of two to three lines being repeated over and over? Anyway, Jay Sean’s new song “Do You Remember” definitely has the simple hook down but Sean Paul and Lil Jon? I mean, really? Check it out below. I’m sure once this gets on the radio, it won’t go away for quite some time.

Alright – I know Chris Brown has been facing serious trouble moving his album since most stores are keeping it out back and his sales / rep is down in general. However I’m a pretty big fan of “What I Do” off of his new album. Its addictive beat got the better of me. Don’t judge. In fact I like quite a few songs off the album.

While Breezy is still struggling to pull off a full comeback I’m pretty sure Jay Sean is eyeing his crown as King of R&B. I personally think Jay Sean’s sound is so similar to Brown’s that I actually mistook his new single for a potential track off of Graffiti. Perhaps it’s just me but “Do You Remember” is deadly similar to “Forever” specifically at the chorus.

Review: Overall this is a decent summer track and a good follow-up to Jay Sean’s U.S. debut, “Down”.  Subtract Lil Jon’s “Yeahhhhh” and it could’ve topped Billboard.  Is it just me or does anyone else think Sean Paul looks like Bobby Deol in this video?

One of the most recognised names in the urban music industry is releasing the official Desi Hits! remix of his latest track.

Dancehall star Sean Paul has teamed up with Canadian duo Lomaticc and Baba Khan to create a unique version of his floor filler “So Fine.” The remix will be released by Atlantic Records and features additional vocals from Punjabi artist Sunny Brown.

The track marks another significant fusion of eastern and western elements, a growing trend in the urban music world. In the last couple of years we’ve seen the likes of Timbaland, Snoop Dogg and the Pussycat Dolls immerse themselves in Asian sounds and we can now add Sean Paul to that growing list of urban stars going desi! If that’s not all, rumours are that Sean Paul will also be featuring on the next Jay Sean single!
