It’s a sad thing when the Behind the Scenes video is so much better than what showed up on screen. Jeanne Cooper and Christian LeBanc of top rated soap The Young and the Restless made a cameo shot at Vanessa and Billy’s wedding. I don’t know why they didn’t promote it more and keep it less of a secret. It wasn’t like there was any information to spill. They didn’t appear as their Y&R characters. Jeanne didn’t even get a name for her character and Vanessa only said, “You’ve come all this way!” I think they were trying to imply she was one of Vanessa’s friend from when Mattesa lived in Europe, but they don’t actually say so. Christian played her current “traveling companion,” Justin. They both seemed very happy to be there in real life and Christian’s video rocks!

La cancellazione di Guiding Light ha sconvolto l’intero mondo delle Soap Opera. Più passano le settimane, più arrivano notizie sconfortanti che riguardano tutte le Soap, come se la scomparsa di Sentieri abbia scatenato una specie di reazione a catena irreversibile (ne parleremo più approfonditamente in un prossimo post).

Sono tante le star delle Soap Opera che hanno espresso il loro dispiacere per la cancellazione della soap più vecchia del mondo e anche chi non ci ha mai lavorato è rimasto sconvolto dalla notizia. Ricordiamo, ad esempio, Susan Flannery (la Stephanie di Beautiful) che lo scorso anno aveva anche dato preziosi consigli per migliorare il nuovo modello di produzione e che aveva introdotto le nuove tecniche nella sua soap.

Ma negli ultimi giorni ha cominciato a circolare un rumor insolito secondo il quale due star di Febbre d’Amore avrebbero manifestato l’intenzione di fare un’apparizione cameo durante una puntata di Guiding Light. In rete circolavano i nomi di Jeanne Cooper e Jess Walton (rispettivamente Katherine e Jill) ma nessuno dava molta importanza alla voce.

Tuttavia, è adesso arrivata una mezza conferma dalla rivista CBS Soaps in Depth che ha dichiarato che la già citata Jeanne Cooper e l’attore Christian Le Blanc (Michael) appariranno nel corso dell’ultima puntata di Sentieri in un ruolo non ben definito (forse soltanto come comparse). Jeanne Cooper, inoltre, aveva affermato in diverse occasioni di avere il desiderio di voler recitare in Sentieri e questa sarebbe per lei l’ultima occasione per farlo.

La produzione non vuole confermare la notizia, ma mancano (purtroppo) pochi giorni alla fine di Guiding Light e presto scopriremo se realmente queste due star visiteranno Springfield in segno di rispetto per dare un saluto finale ad una Grande Soap, anzi, la Migliore al Mondo!

The Daytime Emmy Awards nominations were announced this morning in New York City. The ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 30th and broadcast on the CW. Ugly Betty Actress, Vanessa Williams will be the host. The full list of nominations will be announced later this evening at a party hosted by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
