Ahh the confusing life I lead. Anyway all you need to know is Jeff is rad and I think he is well worth the visit. Unfortunately though I didn’t see him move (animatronics to come??) but I did spy one other dinosaur “bones” which as you may of guessed is a skeleton of an Omeisaurus (brontosaurus looking thing). I’ll add more dino pictures as the park continues to grow!

Address: ‘Palmer Coolum Resort’ 1 Warran Rd, Coolum Beach QLD 4573
Drive in the front gate of the resort and follow the signs to the visitors carpark, as you’re driving in you’ll cross a pond and if you look closely you’ll see Jeff standing tall! (1 minute drive to the carpark and a five minute walk to jeff)

How I voted tonight. Council Meeting, June 4, 2013. 6PM Meeting: ITEM 14A. Observatory Mesa Grant. I

How I voted tonight.

Council Meeting, June 4, 2013.

6PM Meeting:
ITEM 14A. Observatory Mesa Grant.
I votes YES on a resolution allowing staff to apply for a grant from the State of Arizona for a grant for some of the funds to purchase and preserve Observatory Mesa.
passed 7-0

ITEM 14B. Sale of Land on 4th St.
I voted YES to approve the real estate agreement between the City of Flagstaff and Evergreen Devco, Inc for the purchase of the property near the 4th Street Bridge across from the new Walgreens. (Evergreen has entered a contract to buy the land from the City)
Passed 7-0

ITEM 14C. 2014 Budget Adoption 1st Read.
I voted YES to approve the 2015 budget (first read).
With a 3 fold increase in streets spending, the preservation of many of the programs and services flagstaff residents hold dear, all while lowering the overall budget by millions of dollars and maintaining a flat tax levy year over year, the 2014 budget represents a huge step in the right direction.
Passed 7-0

ITEM 14D. Adoption of the 2012 Suite of Building Codes.
I voted NO on adopting the 2012 suite of codes because the 2012 energy code will add between $3,000-$10,000 per new house which has the potential to add enough to a mortgage payment so that some may not qualify for a mortgage with these new expenses. How can a Council argue for affordable housing yet vote for codes that add to the cost of housing?
The suite of codes including the 2012 Energy Code passed 4-3 with myself, Councilman Overton and Mayor Nabours voting against.

4PM Meeting:
ITEM 4A. Approval of minutes.
I moved to approve the minutes of past Council Meetings and voted YES for the approval of the minutes.

ITEM 8A, B, C. Liquor License.
I voted YES to forward all three licenses with a recommendation to the state for approval. The McMillian, Chiba Hut and the Modern Grove.
Passed 7-0

ITEM 9, A, C, D, F, G
I voted YES to approve all items.
Item 9A, Custodial Services for various City owned property.
Item 9C, An agreement between City of Flagstaff and FMC for services.
Item 9D, An agreement for taxiway work at the airport between City of Flagstaff, ADOT and FAA.
Item 9F, A contract between City of Flagstaff and Southwest Groundwater Services for consulting work at Red Gap Ranch.
Item 9G, Acceptance of a contract for street work on Cedar Avenue.
All items passed 7-0

ITEM 9B. Property Management Agreement with Core Realty.
I recused myself since I have a relationship with Core Realty.
Passed 6-0

ITEM 9H. Acceptance of a DHS Grant.
I voted NO on the grant to accept federal dollars from DHS for public safety radios among other items. I voted no because Flagstaff bonded $4,700,000 in 2010 for the same radios. The $10,000 grant for additional radios should have been addressed with the 2010 funds.
Passed 6-1

ITEM 10A. Sale of 2 abandoned Fire Stations.
I voted YES to start marketing these fire stations for sale.
Passed 6-1 with Vice Mayor Evans voting no.

ITEM 10B.
I voted YES
Abandoning a portion of a public ingress
and egress easement located at Pulliam Airport Airpark, a part of Track 5B near ShamrellBlvd.
Passed 7-0.

ITEM 10C. I voted YES,
Consideration and Adoption of Resolution No. 2013-15: A resolution of the City Councilof the City of Flagstaff repealing Resolution No. 2013-02 adopted March 5, 2013, designating the “2013 City of Flagstaff Parks and Recreation Organizational Master Plan”as a Public Record and adopting the 2013 City of Flagstaff Parks and Recreation Organizational Master Plan.
Passed 7-0.

I don’t know why I keep putting off my post about time, but I’m either busy or thinking

I don’t know why I keep putting off my post about time, but I’m either busy or thinking about other stuff. Like this story.

I made up most of it while driving the forklift around, and its pretty weird, but hopefully funny. Its also probably gonna be a work in progress for a while cause I don’t know where its going really.

Jeff found that he now had photographic memory. Unfortunately the camera was a Brownie and someone replaced the film reel with a Fruit Roll Up, so the pictures aren’t great. He wasn’t very popular due to his ardent belief in the necessity of a race war. How anyone could disagree baffled poor Jeff, as it was patently obvious that rally racing far superior to Nascar. He was also pretty sure he could hear rats in the walls, but his cat, Honkeybitch, told him to pay it no mind and avoid the cellar at all costs.

So he did. Jeff trusted Honkeybitch. Its just how he was raised.

Jeff’s family knew something had changed, but they weren’t worried. At least not until he voiced the opinion that Michael Bay should have been allowed to direct The Lord of the Rings. After that chilling discovery they insisted he go see a doctor.

The neurologist said Jeff’s hippocampus had taken the brunt of the impact, which explained his memory changes. The other myriad symptoms remained a mystery.

The crash happened late Friday night when I pretty little thing decided to pull her car out directly into his path, resulting in quite the scene. The police report says she wasn’t drunk, but Jeff didn’t buy it. No one really bought it. She blamed her post-crash impairment on a concussion.

Yeah right.

Jeff’s new mind state convinced him that his need to relocate was urgent, as he finally realized that Dublin, Ohio, is the place where old rich whites go to raise children and where dreams go to die. He MUST leave. The timing was perfect, with the sequester cutting defense spending. The military in turn cancelled their contract with Jeff’s company, Granny Bertha’s Homecooked MREs.

This was fine though. Jeff had some money stowed away, and he decided to pursue his dream. He would train teams of crickets to play cricket, and start a league for the sport in India. The losers could be deep friend and dipped in peppers as a post game snack for an extra value. It was perfect.

So he hopped on a plane, intending on landing in Dubai to see if he couldn’t rustle up some more financial backing, but due to his complete ignorance of Middle Eastern geography and poor reading skills he landed in Abu Dabi.

Here he men Sergei, a one armed Armenian psychic. Sergei used to tried-and-useless science of phrenology to guess your future. Sergei had resorted to phrenology after a terrible tea reading accident. He had done a reading for the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred that was so unknowable that it rendered him completely illiterate…Sooo no more tea leaves.

I can’t think of where to go from here. Maybe I actually will do that Chronos post today. Doubt it.

Hey Fatties,

This week’s episode of Newlyweds was Ridiculously Amazing! Within the first three minutes of the show, we were gifted with a gold medal reality show moment! The Newlyweds tonight made us feel an array of emotions, which included anger, slight discomfort, and extreme happiness. So, with that being said, lets get this party started!

Blair and Jeff

Tonight, these boys created an unforgettable Reality TV moment within the first 3 minutes of the episode! After being married for only 4 months and 2 weeks, Blair complains to Jeff about how they haven’t had sex in 2 weeks. While Blair is stressing the importance of sex in a marriage, Jeff tries to explain that he feels more fulfilled cooking and watching home improvement shows with Blair. At this moment, Blair reminds us why he was strategically chosen to be on Bravo, when he responds by saying, “Well how come I can’t suck you off on the couch while you are watching your home improvement shows? What’s wrong with that?” This was such an unexpected response it made me clutch my pearls and LIVE at the same time! Blair’s sexual aggressiveness, that was displayed tonight, makes Jeff feel like having sex is more of an obligation than something they both want to do. After Jeff tries to defend his position, Blair tells him he should be flattered that a young hot blonde, who is 16 years younger than him, wants him! Considering Blair said that various times throughout the episode, it is safe to say that he truly believes he is the golden ticket, so Jeff better get it together! In the end, Blair leaves us with another memorable quote by saying, “No Pee-Pee in the Booty for 2 weeks!”

The topic of Finances was another catalyst for an argument between Blair and Jeff. Jeff wanted to establish a joint bank account and Blair wanted to keep his money, HIS MONEY! Tonight, we also found out that, “Blair pays more, Jeff!” In the end, the conversation was left unresolved and I am sure it will be revisited in the 3 episodes remaining.

Courtesy of Bravo
It’s been two weeks since sex AND I’m paying more, Jeff!

Kathryn and John

The feeling of anger began to build for many viewers, while watching Kathryn and John’s segment. Kathryn is 16 weeks pregnant, or in non-pregnant people talk, she’s 4 months pregnant. While John is eating ice cream, which is something he looks like he has had practice doing for some time, he begins to tell Kathryn that she is eating way too much, but ends it with a “my love.” Ending a READ with “my love” does not change the fact that it is a READ! That’s like someone telling you, “You look like a Fat Pig today, my love!” Either way, they still think you look like a fat pig. Anyway, I digress, John then goes on a rant and says his wife is gaining weight and he has never fooled around with a fat person before. If he has fooled around with himself, then he has fooled around with a fat person. Sorry, John! Well, the two start looking at their wedding video and he reminds her how thin she was and proceeds to pull out a magazine of a thinner pregnant model and compares Kathryn to her. He ends it by expressing his fear that he will never see her thin body again.

Courtesy of Bravo
John: Kathryn, you’re a Fatso, not a Fattie!

Tina and Tarz

Tonight, Tina was a star! She made us laugh, feel sexy, and a little uncomfortable. Tarz, on the other hand, made us feel sorry for him and want to give him a shoulder to cry on! We begin by seeing Tina and Tarz prep for the premiere party of a Bollywood Magazine they did a bridal shoot for. While prepping, Tina admits that she has kept Tarz a secret from her fans because he is White and she thinks they will not accept him. She then reads hateful tweets of former fans calling her unauthentic because she is with a White man. As a result of hiding Tarz, she is considering this event as their “coming out party.”

While picking out clothes for the event, Tarz approaches Tina’s father, who was there for some reason, and invites him to lunch in an attempt to bond. Although Tina’s father says they don’t need to bond, he agrees to go with Tarz. On the day of their “lunch date” Tarz, running late, arrives to a very annoyed father in law. Instantly, Tina’s dad gets on Tarz’ lateness and the fact that they are not at an Indian Food Restaurant. When Tarz reminds him that he loves Italian Food, in particular Lasagna, Tina’s dad eases off a little bit because, they are at an Italian Food Restaurant. At this point, the remainder of the lunch looks like it will be successful! That is, until the waiter informs Tina’s dad that they have no lasagna! From this point it was a sinking ship and their problems will have to be solved on another day! On the other side of town, Tina meets up with Tarz’ mother and talks to her about the one thing no parent wants to hear about their child: Their sex life. Tina asks her mother in law for tips on how to get Tarz turned on and even asks her if Tarz was gay? They end their conversation with Tarz’ mother saying that it was TMI.

The biggest part of the night for Tina, in this girls opinion, was when Tina was on the stage performing! She looked amazing and was getting it in on the stage! Tina showed us why she is a Bollywood Pop Princess and I am drinking the kool-aid, hunty! Based on the long recap of Tina and Tarz, it is clear they had a BIG night!

Courtesy of Bravo
Is your son Gay?

Kim and Alaska

The usual problems plagued this couple tonight. The frequency of living apart is starting to wear on Kim. However, we at least know the sex is amazing between the two of them whenever Alaska returns from Los Angeles. The most exciting part of their storyline, tonight, was when the two went to Alaska’s promoter friend’s party! The man entered on a horse and I just thought that entrance was EVERYTHING! The unfortunate thing about the two not living with each other constantly is that things will be fine the first couple of days but when it is time for him to leave again, they get into an argument. They need to figure it out because, the streets are talking and people don’t believe they will be together much longer. Hopefully it gets better! Btw, Alaska, get your own food!

Overall, fatties, this episode was very fulfilling! There are only 3 episodes left, so I will be watching and reviewing them for you! Make sure you leave a comment below!

Until next time Fatties,

For much of the week, 21 individuals choose to share a space that is smaller than the average American home. What do you get when you concentrate that much humanity in that small a space and turn up the heat? A semi-functional family of the best kind. Although no blood ties are shared, we’re like parents, uncles, visiting cousins and kids to each other. Most leave home eventually, but many come back to visit and some even move back in for a short spell or indefinitely. As in all families there are squabbles and teasing, but also celebrations and having each other’s back. In the restaurant there’s a loyalty and community greater than many groups of friends share. We fill in when someone is sick; work on days-off from other jobs to cover vacations; play music and plant gardens together; bake birthday cakes, attend weddings, and move sofas and boxes for each other. Many of these ties remain even with those who’ve moved on to other restaurants or new careers.

One of the benefits of working in this industry is having the option to eat at work, often on the house. In other restaurants I’ve heard this called “crew chow”, “staff meal”, “staff infection”, “shift meal”, or simply “dinner”. It’s usually thrown together out of bits of leftovers, often tossed with pasta to feed the masses. But we’ve always called it “family meal”, because that’s what it feels like. At the end of each shift, brunch or dinner, the servers gather plates, flatware and everyone’s favorite beverages and set the counter around the open kitchen while the cooks set out that day’s meal. Most of us sit down around the counter; some cooks prefer to keep cleaning, being used to eating standing up, but all contribute to the camaraderie of a shared meal.

Family meal is such an important part of our day here that it’s often the first thing discussed when the kitchen crew arrives to begin prepping. Sometimes it’s even planned days in advance. Special ingredients are picked up in the International District or ethnic markets on the way in. An overabundance of produce from a garden is brought in to share. It’s a time for the kitchen staff, or even the servers on occasion, to cook outside the Spanish box.

The occasional late-dining guest will inquire about ordering a plate of whatever the kitchen is arranging on platters after 11 pm. That’s how good it usually looks. But we spend most of our working days welcoming and taking care of guests. It’s why most of us are in this business. Although we’re usually happy to serve something special to a guest, we respectfully decline his request. Sorry folks, family meal is a time when we just take care of each other- and ourselves.

On Memorial Day weekend my brother and his girlfriend made the trip out to the east coast for a quick visit. We took them to the usual sites, the Inner Harbor and Fells Point in Baltimore and the monuments in DC, but this trip also had a hidden agenda.
Klinkenburg has been an author and reporter for the Tampa Bay times since 1977 and all the while he

Klinkenburg has been an author and reporter for the Tampa Bay times since 1977 and all the while he has practiced a waist-deep-in-the-mud style of journalism that I truly respect. In hopes of picking up a few tips and tricks from this great writer, I scheduled a casual cyber-interview with him. Below are the transcripts:

W: Mr. Klinkenburg,

My name is John Wix and I’m pursuing the subject of science journalism through an independent study here at Florida Gulf Coast University. My proctor in this study, Dr. Richard Kenney, suggested that I speak with one of several accomplished science writers in the area and it is your work that I am the most fond of. If it wouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience–I understand that there is never a dull moment in this profession–I would like to ask you a few short questions about what inspired you to go into your field, which stories and activities appeal most to you, and some of the techniques you use to pursue them. Needless to say, this would be a great help in the pursuit of my own goals and perhaps become as great a writer as you are one day.

Thank you for your consideration,

-Wix

K: Sure. Be happy to chat.

W: Sorry for not getting back to you until now–wasn’t expecting such a prompt reply. Thank you for that. What would be the best media for you to conduct this short interview? We can continue through email if that is most convenient. If the latter is all right, I’d like to pose my first question:

When did you first decide to become a writer? Was ecology an interest to you before then?

K: John, a few things.

I am not an environmental writer or a science writer. I write about Florida culture, which means occasionally write something environment or science-related. But I tackle those projects as a story teller more than a newspaper reporter.

Growing up in Miami, I started fishing with my dad when I was little. My interest in fish was the foot in the door regarding Florida matters. I was writing about Florida for school projects or just for fun when I was 6 or 7. I was the sports editor of my high school newspaper, got scholarship help to University of Florida and worked on the college paper, the “Alligator.” After college I was a sports writer at the Miami News (high school sports) and the Fort Lauderdale News (the Miami Dolphins). I returned to the Miami News to write about the outdoors because of the story-telling opportunities, then took a much better job (more time to work on fewer stories) at the St. Petersburg Times (now Tampa Bay Times) in 1977. Since 1986 I have been writing about Florida culture. My latest book, which collects favorite recent stories, is “Alligators in B-Flat.”

jeffklinkenberg.com

W: Jeff,

It’s that story-teller perspective that I enjoy most in your writing. However, I find it interesting that you consider yourself a cultural writer more than a science writer as your take on Florida culture often seems to emphasize the more natural aspects of the landscape. Do you believe that the “real Florida” and its ecology embody Florida culture just as much as the people living here? Or is its culture the relationship between them itself?

K: Good observation, John. What makes Florida “Florida” is landscape, climate and animals. It’s always there, lurking under the modernity, waiting to take a bite. 19 million people here, art museums, universities, great restaurants, major league sports, air conditioning — yet this is a place where if you swim in the wrong place you might be devoured by a dinosaur.

I cover a lot of territory in my columns (and later) in my books. My latest collection, “Alligators in B-Flat,” captures my sense of Florida.

W: I’ll have to check out that book–it sounds like a great read. It’s funny to think how shallow our “mastery” of the wilderness truly is. It seems like we haven’t so much replaced our natural environment as we’ve simply muted our notice of it with a thick fog of modern luxury.

I have just one last question:

Regarding your experience both in the field and at a desk, what techniques have you used to get the information you need? Any tips or tricks you can give to an aspiring journalist?

-Wix

K: Use the phone to set up interviews and to fact check. Otherwise, be there in person.

There are two ingredients important to any story — broccoli and ice cream cones.

The broccoli, what’s good for you, is fact, numbers, the nitty gritty. The ice cream cone is anecdote, quotes, quirk. It’s the fun stuff that will carry the reader through the story, especially a science story. You get the ice cream cones when you’re in the field. For example, I’m doing a botany story write now. On a field trip with the botanist, I found out he’s a deadhead. I’ll be able to use that.

W: Ha! That’s brilliant.

I suppose that’s everything, then. I want to thank you for all the time and insight you’ve given me. As of about six minutes ago, I have a job as an environmental writer with WatchDogCity. Maybe I’ll see you out there.

Thanks for everything and good luck,

-John

Evening wrestling fans, I am “The Alpha Male” Tom Robinson here with the Armbar Express.

Evening wrestling fans, I am “The Alpha Male” Tom Robinson here with the Armbar Express. TNA Slammiversary predictions! Tonight’s the night. The 11th annual Slammiversary. Big matches, big announcements and big things expected for tonight’s Slammiversary. Lets run down the card…

Bound For Glory Series Qualifier – Jay Bradley vs Sam Shaw

Background: About a month ago, TNA made the announcement that 4 former Gut-Check winners would compete in a mini tournament to determine who the first confirmed entrant in the Bound For Glory Series would be. Gut Check Winner Christian York battled Gut Check Winner and Chiacgo-born Jay Bradley in a close encounter. However, it was Bradley’s Boomstick Clothesline that got him the victory that advanced him to the finals of the tournament at Slammiversary. The 2nd semi-final of the series was scheduled to be Alex Silva vs Sam Shaw. However, Aces And Eights took it upon themselves to take out Alex Silva backstage. This meant that Sam Shaw automatically advanced to the finals at Slammiversary. So it’s Bradley vs Shaw for the right to be in the Bound For Glory series. Will Double S Sam Shaw slide his way into the series, or will Bradley’s Boomstick put down Sam Shaw?

What Should Happen?: I’m honestly not bothered who wins. I’m happy already that one of these guys will finally get some spotlight now in TNA. Since winning Gut-Check, neither of these guys have done much in TNA. Being in the Bound For Glory series and picking up a couple of wins along the way can get them utilized a lot more in TNA. But if I had to pick someone, I’d pick Bradley, purely because I want to see his Boomstick clothesline and shout at the top of my voice….

What Will Happen?: It’s hard to call… errrmmm… Again, I think I’ll go with Bradley because I think with his “Boomstick” Bradley has got something marketable about it, and I think TNA would want to go with him because he’s only one out of the two competitors in this match that actually won a match to get to the qualifier. I don’t know. It’s hard to call this match, but I’m going with Bradley.

TNA Television Championship – Devon (c) vs (sighs) Joseph Park -.-

Background: Joseph Park’s feud with Aces And Eights began in the build up to Bound For Glory with Park being taken hostage by the group. Park broke free from his captivity during The Aces And Eights match at Bound For Glory and assaulted members of the group. Joseph then competed against Aces And Eights member DOC at Turning Point, but lost. Park then attended wrestling school at OVW for a grand total of TWO WEEKS in order to get better prepared for Aces And Eights. He was then given the chance to fight Devon at Genesis, but was once again defeated. After Bully Ray betrayed TNA and Brooke Hogan at Lockdown, Park stepped in again trying to implement “Justice” by drawing up divorce papers. This didn’t sit too well with Bully Ray and Devon, who attacked Park. A couple of weeks later, Aces And Eights faced the wrath of Park’s brother Abyss who returned and whooped all kinds of Aces And Eights ass. After Abyss’ return, Devon promised to “take a piece out of his (Abyss) ass”. This angered Abyss’ brother Joseph who challenged Devon to a match. Devon told Park he had to earn his shot at him, and had him fight D’Lo Brown for his chance. Park won the match and a TV Title match at Slammiversary was set.

What Should Happen?: Park gets taken out backstage beforehand by Aces And Eights. Abyss replaces his brother in the TV Title match. Wins The TV Title.

What Will Happen?: Devon wins. If TNA have Joseph Park beat Devon for the TV Title, I will do this to my table…

TNA Tag Team Championship – Chavo Guerrero (c) and Hernandez (c) vs Bobby Roode and Austin Aires vs Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs James Storm and Gunner in a Fatal Four Way Elimination Tag Team Match

Background: In April, Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez defeated Bobby Roode and Austin Aires to become Tag Team Champions for a 2nd time. Aires and Roode then began a squabble with “Bad Influence” Christopher Daniels and Kazarian over who should have a crack at the new champions. A Number One Contendership Match took place between the two teams with James Storm serving as special referee (because apparently, Storm doesn’t have anything better to do). After both teams were getting under the ref’s skin, Storm delievered Last Call Super Kicks to Daniels and Aires, ending the match in a no contest. The next week, a fatal four way elimination match was made between 4 teams for the PPV – Daniels/Kazarian, Aires/Roode, Chavo/Hernandez and James Storm and a partner of his choosing. After the likes of Shark Boy and Robbie E offered their help to James, the returning Gunner was picked as his partner.

What should happen?: Not exactly a fan of Chavo and Hernandez as tag team champions to be honest. Then again, I don’t want the tag titles changing hands every couple of months. It’d damage the prestige if it kept swapping between the same teams over and over again. So, I want Chavo and Hernandez to win and hopefully feud with some other teams.

What will Happen?: Chavo and Hernandez win. The way I see it, I think TNA want a face tag team to hold the titles for now… so they can serve as transitional champions until Aces And Eights get the belts. I think Aces And Eights will get their hands on the belts. It’s just a matter of when and which two members. Tazz mentioned the possibility of Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff winning the titles, but I personally want DOC and Knux to get the gold.

TNA X-Division Championship – Kenny King (c) vs Suicide vs Chris Sabin in an Ultimate X Match

Background: The X-Division has seen a number of returns from a number of former champions. Petey Williams and his CANADIAN DESTROYER came back in April, Chris Sabin came back from two torn ACLs in May, and Suicide returned 2 weeks ago. Everyone has been gunning after the X-Division Champion Kenny King. Sabin was involved in a triple threat for the title about a month ago involving champ King as well Petey Williams. However, Sabin was unsuccessful in winning, but stayed in contention as Petey was the one who got pinned. Suicide won a X-Division title qualifier in his return match, defeating Joey Ryan and Petey to earn a chance for the title at Slammiversary. With the new format in the X-Division, Kenny is set defend the title at the PPV against Suicide and Chris Sabin but things have gotten cranked up… because they will all compete… in an Ultimate X Match!

What should happen?: I’d mark out if Suicide won the title. I’m not saying I’d be pissed if Sabin or King won, but I loved the Suicide character back in the day and the new guy (T.J. Perkins) donning the mask impresses me. Sure Sabin winning would make sense, and King winning would bring a lot of credibility to him as champion. However, Suicide was just a character that captivated me when he was around, and I loved the fact that everyone wanted a piece of them. Him winning the title would be a great way to rebuild his character.

What will happen?: I sense a new champion being crowned tonight. Either Suicide or Sabin will win the title I think. If I had to pick I’d say Sabin because it would be the sort of triumphant-return-from-injury and I think they want to reward Sabin for coming back from all of injuries and stuff.

Gail Kim vs “The Hot Mess” Taryn Terrell – Last Knockout Standing

Background: At Lockdown, Gail Kim wrestled Velvet Sky for the Knockouts Championship with Taryn Terrell as referee. However, when Gail got physical with Taryn, Taryn attacked Gail costing her the title. Due to her actions, Taryn was fired as the Knockouts Referee. However, Taryn was signed onto the Knockouts roster meaning she could get physical with anyone she wants. And on Open Fight Night, she wanted to… hehe get “physical” with Gail Kim…

Gail Kim go out of the match with Taryn by having Tara come out and help her, hehehe, double-team Taryn. Taryn retaliated by attacking Gail Kim backstage. The next week, Gail Kim regained the advantage over Taryn when she defeated Taryn in a tag team match. In their first singles match against one another, Taryn would gain an upset victory over Gail. This led to Gail Kim attacking Taryn post-match, applying the figure four leg lock on the ring-post. After it was announced that Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell would compete in a Last Knockout Standing match at the PPV, Taryn got revenge. She attacked Gail backstage 2 weeks ago. And in their final encounter before the PPV, Taryn teamed up with Chris Sabin to defeat Gail Kim and Kenny King, getting the crucial advantagebefore Slammiversary.

What Should Happen?: I just want to say, I’ve really gotten into this feud so far. We barely see a decent diva feud any more. The Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell anger story is seriously intriguing, as the animosity between the two has been building for months, and all that intensity will just blow up in the Last Knockout Standing match. Since Taryn won their match a month or two ago, I think Gail should get the victory here and level things up at 1-1.

What Will Happen?: I think Gail will win to even up the score. I don’t think they’d have Taryn beat Gail again, especially in a match like the “Last Knockout Standing” match.

Magnus, Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy vs The Aces And Eights (Wes Brisco, Garrett Bischoff and Mr Anderson)

Background: Jeff Hardy faced Bully Ray in a rematch from their World Title match on Lockdown in April. The match was Full Metal Mayhem, and was won Bully after he hit Jeff in the HEAD with a HAMMER and fell threw the table. Last week on Impact, it was announced by the newly-reunited Samoa Joe and Magnus that the Aces And Eights would take on Joe, Magnus and the returning Jeff Hardy in a 6 man tag team match.

What Should Happen?: As much as I hate to admit, Jeff Hardy’s team should win. While this would be a huge boost for Aces And Eights, it’d make zero sense for Jeff to make his return and lose in his return match. Then again, it doesn’t make sense to have Jeff fully recover from getting hit in the head with a hammer in less than 2 months. Surely a shot like that would at least paralyse Jeff or even kill him. And people call John Cena “Super Cena”.

What will happen?: Jeff Hardy’s team wins.

Kurt Angle vs AJ Styles

Background: AJ Styles returned to TNA in March, right after Lockdown. On his return, he decked James Storm with a clothesline. AJ became a man of few words, taking a more darker approach than before. AJ acted as a lone wolf rather than joining any team. This would include AJ watching superstars like James Storm and Kurt Angle getting beatdown by Aces And Eights. AJ refused declare what side he was on in TNA’s war with Aces And Eights, which irritated Kurt Angle, who brawled with AJ about 4 weeks ago. This led to people believing that AJ would joining Aces And Eights, and Mr Anderson even announced that AJ would be patched in to Aces And Eights. It was also announced that Kurt and AJ would settle their differences at Slammiversary 1 on 1. 2 Weeks ago, AJ attacked Kurt Angle as well as members of Aces And Eights with a hammer, making it clear that he wasn’t affiliated with anyone. He was going to be doing his own thing.

What should happen?: AJ Styles wins. You have NO IDEA how much I’d rage if Angle won.

What will happen?: AJ Styles wins. If TNA has any common sense.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship – Bully Ray (c) vs Sting in a No Holds Barred match. If Bully Ray wins, Sting can never compete for the TNA World Title again

Background: At Lockdown, Bully Ray shocked the world by winning the World Title and announcing that he was the President of Aces And Eights. General Manager Hulk Hogan blamed Sting for convincing Hulk to pick Bully Ray as the number one contender for the World Title in the first place. The two traded words for weeks, and this led to Hulk Hogan telling Sting to “get the hell out of my ring”. After a couple of weeks, Sting came back two aid Hogan in the fight with Aces And Eights. Hogan booked a number one contendership match between Sting and Matt Morgan, not wanting to make the same mistake of picking a number one conteder. Sting won the match and the match was set for Slammiversary. During a contract signing between the two, Sting asked Bully for a No Holds Barred match at the PPV. Bully agreed, on the condition that Sting promised never to wrestle for the TNA World Title again if he lost. Sting agreed to the stipulation and the stage is set for the showdown at Slammiversary. Will Sting take away a great deal of power from Aces And Eights, or is this the last time we see Sting compete for the World Title?

What Should happen?: Bully Ray wins.

What Will happen?: Bully Ray wins. I don’t think they’ll have Bully drop the title this early.

And finally….

Who Will Be The 2nd Inductee Into The TNA Hall Of Fame?

Who It Should Be?: Jeff Jarrett. Come on… he FOUNDED the god-damn company.

Who It Will Be?: I’m going to say Jeff Jarrett, but I would not be surprised if TNA pulled off the Dick Move of having Hulk Hogan be the 2nd inductee.

That’s it. The stage is set. Predictions done! Enjoy Slammiversary. I know I will.

Today was a long and draining day. Mainly because I drank so much. I can hear that girl, Lexi, above

Today was a long and draining day. Mainly because I drank so much. I can hear that girl, Lexi, above me. I have no idea what the hell she’s doing. I’m thinking of texting her. Now she’s stopped moving. Huh.

I went off to work, I was hungover so it took me an hour before I really did anything. I worked on the post I should have wrote last night. Well, I’m being hard on myself, but I should have at least started on it as soon I was at work.

After that, I met up with my roommate, Josh, and his friend, Jeff, to go to this beer expo by the harbor. We rode the subway down. I would look around while on the train and when we got off, trying to spot an cute girls to talk to. It’s probably a bad habit, I get so worked up by it, always wanting to talk to girls. I should instead try to have a good time, I know, I know. But I can’t help it, and sometimes conversations between people can get boring. I’m not saying anything bad about Josh or Jeff, but rather about myself.

So we got to the place, this big field with a couple tents set up. They gave us some glasses that we could use to sample the beers. We did just that for about an hour. Josh would ask me what I thought about each beer and I tried my best to be honest. But honestly, it didn’t matter. I just wanted to drink, and I wanted to drink the strong stuff, so maybe that’s why I would choose the dark beer more often. Also, the beers didn’t taste that different from each other. Maybe getting more and more wasted made it harder to judge, but I could tell the difference between a beer from one place or the next. Some were smooth, some bitter, some strong, with an acid taste, but it was all just… beer. I thought to myself if they made a beer that tasted like coke, then they would have a winner. A beer with the taste of Dr. Pepper. Shit, they would sell fast as hell, but you’d probably end of sicker faster too. Maybe you need the bitter taste to slow you down.

There were actually some beers that were sweet. There was a strawberry flavored beer and a ginger flavored beer that were very tasty.

There was also a group of girls that looked very dressed up for a beer festival, I noticed. One was a tall blond with flowing blond hair. Suddenly I wanted to know why they were dressed so fancy.

But I couldn’t drag myself to go over there. Instead I felt like a creep, staring at them, wanting to go and ask.

It times like that that I… I think about this party I went to. This was way back in the day, but it was a party I heard about on facebook and checked by myself. It was probably stupid, but that was a point in my life where I wanted to change my habits, when I felt so fucking sick of being home alone.

So I went to this party, down in a torn down area near my college. I went in to this place, and the whole setting was pretty cool. Actually, almost everyone there was cool. I was having a really good time.

I remember talking to this one girl… and I thought it went well, I’m thinking. Anyway, she went off to talk to her friends and I wanted to talk to her, but she was in her group and I was on the outside, waiting… and this guy called me out on it. This tall black guy who seemed pretty confident.

I hadn’t even known I was doing anything wrong. I simply wanted to talk to her, I was trying to work myself up to doing it, and this guy made me feel embarrassed for trying. I felt angry. I remember thinking I wanted help. I tried to talk to him about what I was doing wrong. All he said was I had no swag.

I have no swag. It sounds stupid. Fuck, it is stupid. And I don’t know if it’s him saying that, and it’s that that is right. I mean, I get what he was saying. I was being a creep.

And here I am, back in the present, looking at a group of girls, and it’s like I have that guy calling me out again.

Logically, I can see most situations clearly. Here’s a group of girls, I have a time frame from where I can walk up, ask my question and leave and the longer I wait on the time frame, the more I become this creep, this loser who can’t talk.

They had walked away after awhile, so I put it out my mind. But I would be lying if I said it didn’t bother me. I’m always bothered when I present myself with a task and I don’t take it. God, send me to war, send me to North Philly, or make me run up a mountain and I’ll say easy and get right to it. But give me a social challenge… tell me to talk to a group of girls… and I’ll say easy and wait about an hour before walking those ten steps to say hello.

But I did run into them, and her after I ate with my friends. And I did end up talking to her. She told me her dress actually cost about 12 bucks and the reason she was wearing it was because it was cool in this hot weather.

So I gave myself the credit there, but then I upped it on me and told myself to ask her out. I ended up looking like a creep after all and didn’t ask her out.

As we were going home on the train, I felt myself nodding off and trying to fight it. I had told the guys I didn’t feel drunk, but I guess that was a lie. When I told them I didn’t feel drunk, I had meant I didn’t feel any more… goofier, or able to relax with them. I wish it did, but it didn’t.

We got home, I did some work, sleep for about an hour, got up, left and traveled back home. I snagged some food from a pizza joint, went to my best friend’s house, ate, joked around with him, went home, saw the family and then I came back to my school home.

As I was riding through the neighborhood around campus, I spotted this way cute girl I had recently talked to near the end of the spring term. She seems like a tough girl, smoking a cigarette and walking fast, with these calm and colorful tattoos of flowers around her arm and shoulders.

I parked my car around the corner, got out, and walked the direction the opposite direction of her, wanting to pass her by, even though I knew it wasn’t totally right, that I should just go on home. But I did end up walking by her, saying hello and she lit up and said hi back as we passed each other. After a minute, I stopped and looked back. She was gone. I went back to my car to park closer to my house.

See, I’m insane. I didn’t have to do that. And I probably shouldn’t have, more likely it might end badly. Yet… I still did it. I hope I do see her later on during the summer. She seems cool besides being hot.

Home, played a game, both roommates walking in and out. And now I’m wondering if I might take a quick walk around, because now I am thinking about her and because I am insane, I want to talk her. If I go out, I have to make it a quick walk…

Twinklings lights float above us as we sway with the atmosphere surrounding.

A glimmer catches your eye and catches my heart off guard.

A gentle hand carressing a scrubbled face. A gentle heart wearing a gown of lace.

A dance between the satin coloured red and pale skin shining in the moonlight.

A first time touch, and it’s almost too much for this tender heart, and something sparks.

A round womb, hand in hand as we stroll under the cherry trees.

A hand on the womb as you speak endless sweet words to me.

Then one heart beat turns to two, and then something new.

A small hand in mine, and a small hand in yours. A skipping little girl, and a couple in love with the world.

Keeping costs down has been a mission for me not only as a businessman but as a Flagstaff City Counc

Keeping costs down has been a mission for me not only as a businessman but as a Flagstaff City Councilman. The cost of living in Flagstaff is an issue many struggle with. Flagstaff continues to be an expensive place to live and will probably always be more expensive than many places in the state due to land scarcity and other market forces. Making homes more expensive through costly regulations is the last thing Flagstaff residents need right now.

On Tuesday, June 4th at 6PM, the Flagstaff City Council will be voting on the adoption of the 2012 International Energy Code. The adoption of this code will raise the cost to build a new home in Flagstaff significantly. I’ve seen estimates ranging from $3,000 – $10,000 per new home if the 2012 code is adopted. Proponents of adopting this code have argued that homeowners will make this money back through increased energy efficiencies over a period of time. I’ve heard estimates that a homeowner may need from anywhere from 6 to 10 years to recoup these upfront costs. And that assumes homeowners stay in their home for that long. For homeowners that do not stay in their home for this amount of time, which many do not, they may never recover these added expenses.

I am all for energy efficient homes. The 2006 code, which we currently use, was a huge step in increasing the efficiency of homes. Adopting the 2012 Code would be another increase in efficiency but we must balance this with the economic realities of high housing costs that many homeowners and renters already face.

Instead of adopting the 2012 Energy Code, wouldn’t the continued use of the 2006 Energy Code be a more reasonable compromise? Perhaps this would be a fair balance between energy efficiency and the fixed cost of building new housing. Housing is already expensive enough in Flagstaff and our homes have become quite energy efficient. Raising the cost of housing more than it already is, is the last thing many of Flagstaff’s residents need to deal with right now.
