NEW YORK, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ — At GBK Productions’ American Music Awards (AMA) Gifting

NEW YORK, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ — At GBK Productions’ American Music Awards (AMA) Gifting Lounge, celebrities were not just receiving luxury items but also had the opportunity to give back to charity. This past Friday and Saturday (November 20th & 21st) in honor of the 2009 AMA’s, Beezag (www.beezag.com) the new invite-only web site where you earn money and rewards by simply watching targeted video ads, gave every celebrity who registered with Beezag $100 dollars to donate towards one of the three charities that were associated with GBK’s AMA Gift Lounge.

Okobos, Global Green and Environmental Media Association (EMA) were the three charities that each celebrity had the option to donate their first $100 after becoming a Beezag member (aka beezagger). Overall, through the help of these new celebrity beezaggers, Beezag donated a grand total of $3500 among the three eco-friendly charities.

After becoming an official beezagger, celebrities such as La Toya Jackson, Aaron Carter, Twilight star Edi Gathegi, Candace Cameron, American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Ugly Betty’s Alec Mapa, AMA nominee Anthony B., D. Woods, Weezer’s Scott Shriner and more, all chose to donate their $100 to Okobos. As a result, Beezag made a generous donation of $1,500 to Okobos, the charitable foundation who’s mission is to serve children in impoverished communities by creating a marketplace that generates not only awareness, but provides the basic needs of food, water, medical care, shelter, and emotional & spiritual support. Okobos strives to help children all over the world realize their potential.

The celebrities who chose to support Global Green included ‘tween sensation Demi Lovato, Karina Smirnoff & Maks Chmerkovskiy of DWTS, Housewives of Atlanta Kim Zolciak, band-mates of Day 26 (band formed by winners of MTV’s Making of the Band), pro-snowboarder Louie Vito, season 8 American Idol contestant Jackie Tohn, and more. Beezag made a donation of $1000 to Global Green USA, a national environmental organization that merges innovative research, cutting-edge community-based projects and targeted advocacy to create a sustainable future. The organization has written and implemented green building, energy efficiency, and solar power guidelines in addition to legislation and incentives at the local, state, and federal level.

Lastly, the celebrities who donated to EMA included recording artist Colbie Caillat, Melrose Place’s Brandon Pierce, Project Runway winner Jeffrey Sebelia, American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin, Julia Anderson, Brittany Flickinger (winner of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF) and more. With this celebrity support, Beezag also made a donation of $1000 to EMA, a non-profit that mobilizes the entertainment industry in a global effort to educate people about environmental issues and inspire them to take action. Linking the power of celebrity to environmental awareness, EMA’s work is widespread, from subtle messaging on screen (film/TV) to promoting sustainable lifestyle choices through celebrity role modeling and educating influential people on the power of “green.” Through it all, EMA’s goal is inspiring the path to a healthier planet.

“The Beezag product and technology not only creates relevance and value for consumers, but it is diverse in its ability to allow consumers to ‘give back’. Seeing such celebrity interest really confirmed our belief that Beezag is just that much further along than any other mobile or web advertising platform,” states Beezag co-founder and President, Laurent Alhadeff.

Just like these celebrities, as a beezagger, you earn cash and rewards by watching targeted commercials on your iPhone, Blackberry or online and can donate your earnings to any charity of your choice. If the charity route is not best for your wallet, members also have the option to ‘cash-out’ their Beezag earnings directly into their personal bank account, into Beezag’s very own music store similar to iTunes, as well as into their PayPal and/or Amazon account. Just think of Beezag as keeping you in the know of all the latest and greatest products, events and happenings. Beezag is changing the world of advertising, as hundreds of advertisers are now seeing that laser focused advertising provides a much higher ROI. In fact, the system is so over subscribed by users that the waitlist to get in had to be closed.

About Beezag:

Beezag is a privately funded company headquartered in New York City’s bustling Chelsea neighborhood. Its founders had an epiphany when they set out to create a revolutionary philosophy for the only effective way to advertise in this info-laden age: through the targeted delivery of customized video ads to vetted and invited individuals in real time through any Internet-capable device. www.beezag.com

On the patio of a modest house located in Athens, OH, I had a tête-à-tête with the lovely Angela Keslar. You may recognize that name from season 3 of “Project Runway” as she was a contestant who got booted towards the end of the season. PR fans may also remember her especially from the conflicting relationship with the season’s winner Jeffrey Sebelia, duly exposed in the episode where each contestant had to doll up the mother of his or her competitor.

On the other hand, she’s also a small town girl who lived just miles away from my humble abode. She encompasses a small town girl with a love for the big city, yet no sharp identity to either juxtapositions.

No signs of distress and agitation marked her face; in fact she was glowing like the white sands of Clearwater, Florida. Looking simple yet striking in a cotton tee and jeans, Angela and I had a pleasant conversation over a glass of raw cranberry juice just days before her appearance for a style contest at Ohio University – which I had to write about the following night. I closed the interview with a question that apparently no one has bothered to ask, “When you did your first challenge, did you feel that you were completely over your head?”

The answer: just about everything that falls under the latter description. Here’s an exclusive scoop that the cameras were unable to glean:

That’s a good question – no one has ever asked me that. On the very first challenge, I was blank. Actually on the DVD they just put out in extended footage, they actually had me saying this: “I was like, ‘I forget how to sew!!’” I was completely blank. I was thinking,“God, please don’t let me get kicked off. PLEASE do not let me get kicked off of the first challenge.” I had no idea how I was going to get through this. And I mean up until the last, I would say, four or five hours, I had NO idea what I was going to do the whole entire day. I was playing around, fluxing around, while everyone was sewing, draping, etc. I just felt like at a complete lost. It was like a deer caught in headlines.

After that first challenge, the block disappeared and everything I knew clicked back in. But that was such an interesting sensation to feel so disconnected and unfamiliar to something I loved so much, but it was about being shocked. They flew us to NY, they put us in the Atlas apartment – you’re in this completely new environment, being filmed nonetheless. One day your life is like this, and the next thing you’re like this. It took me a couple days to get into the groove.

I remember when I threw together the leather skirt for the first challenge, I didn’t know how to put zippers in so I was screaming, “Oh my God, I don’t know how to do this!” And my friend was like, “Well first of all, use hot glue gun to do the seams and then just pin it. And I was like, “What?!” He was like, “Trust me the judges aren’t going to see through.” There was a lot of safety pinning going on, a lot of glue gunning. You weren’t selling these stuff in stores… well eventually it did get auctioned off. But the judges don’t really question this unless it’s obvious. Now if they could tell, you could get kicked off depending on their mood, or get ratted out. What did we call it? Being “Lambasted,” for sure.

No more The Fashion Show, the REAL fashion show has returned. They bring back 8 designers (fan favor

No more The Fashion Show, the REAL fashion show has returned. They bring back 8 designers (fan favorites) to compete in a single challenge for $100,000.

The designers (in the order of their arrival):

htt- season 3 winner, he’s got a crazy looking girlfriend and has started a band in addition to his design work

Daniel Vosovic- season 2 runner up, wrote a book called Fashion Inside Out

Korto Mormolu- season 5 runner up, now has a jewelry and bag line

Uli Herzner- season 3 runner up (and one of my personal favorites)

Chris March- season 4 finished fourth, is designing Beyonce’s tour costumes

Mychael Knight- season 4, finished third, he has a fragrance line

Sweet P Vaughn- season 4, finished fifth

Santino Rice- season 2 finalist, says he “made Project Runway”

The men seem torn between wanting to say “SHUT UP SANTINO!” and laughing at him for being funny. He’s exceedingly loud and apparently even louder in real life. Each of the designers have had a lot of success since their time on the show. Heidi is pregnant again.

The contestants wake up at 6. Probably good or they’d wake up to Santino’s screaming. Their work spaces are labeled and Uli says she’d love to live there. The challnege: create a 3 look collection costing $1,200 with one dress being red carpet worthy. No one seems interested in talking as they sketch out their designs. Chris falls asleep. Then they get 45 minutes in Mood to pick out fabric. Uli doesn’t pick out any prints. Sad. Tim Gunn even comments on it. Tim says that as All Stars they should be faster than regular contestants. Sweet P and Uli worry about the similarity of the fabric. They have similar color palettes and view one another as competition.

Santino continues talking. Korto says he’s a fool. He does a good Tim Gunn imitation, though he is the most irritating person ever to be around. Santino says he’s bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter than the others. He sort of reminds me of a manic/defective tickle me Elmo. Everyone is in their own world. Santino thinks Sweet Ps looks like a sad home economics project.

In comes Tim Gunn, with a twist. Because it wouldn’t be Project Runway without. He has a message from Nicole Kidman (insert plug for her new movie here). The red carper design is being designed for her to wear at the movie premier. So this hasn’t changed anything but it’s certainly exciting to the designers. Red carpet dresses are great publicity.

Tim comes to check out the work. Korto’s isn’t clear enough to see and Tim looks skeptical. Everyone listens carefully as Tim makes the rounds, using the chance to size up the competition. Santino is arrogant. Tim is concerned with Sweet P’s colors and agrees with Santino that it looks home sewn. Daniel says he doesn’t do “gowns.” His goal is to show something new. Listening to Mychael talk it’s clear he has no idea where he’s going. He just has to “make it work.”

Time for a model casting (which means losing sewing time). Apparently if you get the wrong model you’re screwed. Chris is falling asleep during the casting. He says “would this be Project Runway is I didn’t sleep?” Sweet P and Uli battle over models and Sweet P wins.

Back in the workroom Santino break the sewing needle for one of the machines. Jeffery has replacements but lets Santino sweat for a bit because he’s being obnoxious.

The models come in for a fitting. Uli’s models don’t show at all and she has to model herself (Chris thinks she should just do her own show). Sweet P’s are late. Santino’s hope he plans to make tops.

Heidi and Tim stop them for a surprise: a dinner celebration. None of them want to go because they’d rather work but it isn’t optional. The food is good, they all begin to relax, and then we see the real reason why they have come: the real twist. In order to make sure they can all still be innovative, they are to make a fourth piece using only things from the restaurant. They have 5 minutes to collect the raw materials. Chaos. It sounds like a bar fight. 25% of the look can consist of the fabric they already bought in order to integrate the outfit into the collection.

Watching them sew for over an hour is too long. This show definitely works best in a one hour format. In comes the hairstylist and make up artists to consult on the looks. Then Tim comes to check on their newest work. Uli is at a loss and had not begun. No one can figure out what Santino’s doing beyond running around and they don’t know if he’ll finish in time.

(Love the countdown to the new season in the corner…)

Finally time for the runway show. Most of the designers are stressed about finishing. Except Chris who sleeps on the couch. Tim sees him and holds up his hands as though to say “I give up.” Mychael just wants to know the winner already. One of Uli’s models isn’t coming so she has to deal. Santino’s look seems to be coming together now.

Time to send the models to the runway.

Heidi is not just pregnant, she’s uber pregnant, like could be carrying a toddler rather than a baby. Still looks glamorous though. Back are regular judges Nina Garcia, Kichael Kors, and guest judge Diane Von Furstenburg.

Santino’s first outfit looks sort of like Britney in the red catsuit but in a beige color. His challenge piece is the least cheesy of all. Mychael is next and his collection (looking more like a scattered idea) is ok. Flattering form but otherwise unexciting. Uli’s is very different for her, very structured. Still interesting though. Korto’s restaurant look is awesome, the dresses are good, but I don’t like the pants look. Chris’s costume i still costumey and crazy. I wish he’d cut the hoods. He’s “never been one to make clothes that people just wear.” Daniel’s is a combination of futuristic and athletic looking. Jeffrey’s hair and make up is odd looking with his but the dresses themselves are pretty nice. Sweet P’s dresses are a bit plain. I don’t like the basket dress.

Judgment time.

Nina says Mychael can make women sexy. Michael Kors doesn’t get his challenge dress.

Heidi is surprised by Uli’s. They say she matured but she also lost some of the heart and spirit.

Jeffrey’s lacked po;ish and was messy.

Santino took the easy way out, overused lycra–dress is disco swimming pool

Mychael, Uli, Jeffrey and Santino are bottom four and promptly sent packing.

Chris is shocked to be in the top 4. I’m just as shocked. Critique: the looks were overwhelming for his models.

Daniel’s side panels are dramatic and he has grown the most of the designers.

Korto aimed for expensive. Her restaurant challenge is placemats and lava rocks. I like hers best I think.

Sweet P is a bit homemade feeling. Definitely her style. Didn’t realize that the pale green dress is leather, that’s cool.

Now for the results: Chris is out first. He’s glad to finally be respected like everyone else. Sweet P is ousted second. She’s happy and proud. And the winner is…Daniel!

Project Runway is BACK! I’m so excited I could pee my non-designer label Wal-Mart pants that I wore just for this occasion. Before the real show begins, however, we’re treated to some “all-star” special where designers from past seasons return to compete against each other.

Jeffrey Sebelia is back and he’s as assy as ever. Santino is there and he’s as pompous and obnoxious as ever. And they’re both still fucking ugly! I’m always completely mind-boggled when super physically unattractive people think they can be assholes.

What’s up with poor, dear, narcoleptic Chris March? The dude fell asleep a million times! Like during the sketching time and during the model casting. He was sleeping while everyone else was frantically working! The only thing that wakes that guy up is Santino’s baritone cackling.

As in past seasons, I liked Uli, Sweet P and Korto’s collections the most. I thought the worst was Daniel’s “dynamite” dress. Seriously, that shit looked like the model had a bomb or sticks of black dynamite strapped to her. Aaaaaand, of course, he won. I guess my Wal-mart wearing ass knows nothing about fashion.

All in all, it was a good show, and worth it just to see Jeffrey and Santino get diced right off the bat!

“I’m going on the All-Star because it’s going to be great press… I’m taking full advantage of the whole thing! I just felt like while I was there I’m gonna be judged however I’m going to be and I just want to make stuff I’m proud of. I’m not competing against any of other designers. It was fun to be in the workroom again. But by the time it got to being on the runway and being judged I just wanted to leave; I didn’t care whether I won or not. But why not go? Why not put it all up again? It doesn’t mean anything if you’re not willing to lose it in order to gain more. And, no one can take away the previous win you had. You only stand to win some more money!”

At least he calls it like he smells it, I guess. Should be an entertaining two hours.

OMFG.

Project Runway is finally coming back tomorrow night. They’ve kept us waiting for-freaking-ever and now it’s all coming back in a MAJOR way.

…with a few slight changes.

The show will still have supermodel Heidi Klum, fashion designer Michael Kors, and Elle fashion director Nina Garcia returning as judges, as well as the additional guest judge each episode. But after five seasons in pedestrian-friendly New York, the hit reality competition for aspiring fashion designers has moved to both a new city, car-jammed Los Angeles at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and a new network, Lifetime. And now that the lawsuits between the Weinstein Company, NBC Universal (owner of Bravo), and Lifetime are thankfully over, we can enjoy our fashion porn in peace once again.

Like most, I was a little peeved when PR left Bravo, but the new star-studded L.A. setting has provided some amazing new opportunities: major guest judges such as Christina Aguilera, Eva Longoria Parker, Rebecca Romijn, and Lindsay Lohan and some fresh inspirations for new challenges. As Michael Kors has hinted, ”L.A. can be the most laid-back and the most glamorous. It’s the land of bikinis and gowns.” As such, this season the designers will take on challenges centered on the beach and the red carpet, and also create garments as a tribute to movies and Hollywood.

I am still not quite over the fact that I have to watch Lifetime (the same network my mom boasts as her fav), but I gotta say: I’m really excited to see what this new season has to offer.

Like the brand-new spin-off called “Models of the Runway,” which will air after the show. Unlike seasons past – when the model competition was complete BS – we’ll be getting a behind-the-scenes look at the fashion competition from the models’ perspective. The show will follow 16 models competing to be paired with the winning designer of “Project Runway” for a $25,000 cash prize from L’Oreal Skin Genesis and a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.

But wait, there’s more! In honor of the big return, there will even be a 2 hour all-star challenge, featuring previous Project Runway contestants competing for a big-ass prize, airing before the season premiere! Do you miss Jeffrey Sebelia? Santino Rice? Uli? (God, I miss Uli!) You can get them all in one place for a delicious 120 minutes of goodness.

Yeah, that’s like 5 full hours of Project Runway heaven. In one night. After a full year with nothing but reruns. Talk about making a comeback. Let’s just hope this binge goes better than my first kegstand after 3 months without drinking… Seriously, as I grabbed onto the sides of that barrel of Keystone, a little Tim Gunn appeared over my shoulder and said “I’m concerned.”

God, I missed him.

Join Brithny every Friday morning as she breaks down all Project Runway drama. Auf Wiedersehen!

Run through the abstractor of movement composition, not much of The Space/Movement Project’s S

Run through the abstractor of movement composition, not much of The Space/Movement Project’s Safety in Numbers‘ purported questioning of the nature of urban community shows presence in the finished work. I’m okay with that.

What’s clear is that, whatever the subject, the dancers and creative collaborators of TS/MP found a well of inspiration deep enough to give an hour-long work in five parts richly-varied vocabulary and a sense of completion. Safety in Numbers stops short of having an arc as a whole, but the individual, subtitled sections cohere into distinct environments at the same time they belong together (call it an anthology somewhat inspired by belonging). There are also transitioning scenes (credited to Megan Schneeberger) to reprised snippets from the score but, as they’re not clearly tied in content to either preceding or following sections, they feel like filler.

Bucking the Chicago dance scene’s most pervasive trend, TS/MP employs neither text nor performer-generated sound in their work, and only a few brief scenes transpire in silence. Bedrock for Numbers is an original score by Seattle composer Jeff Forrest: Stylistically a perfect match for TS/MP’s supple, released choreography, Forrest’s landscape of gently-reverbby guitar strums, long cello pulls and firefly flashes of piano over percussion is absorbing enough to support the visual action but disciplined enough to preclude dismissal by a reviewer whose tolerance for worse examples in this vein is, in a word, thin. Obviously attuned to these dancers and their movement (this is their second collaboration), Forrest ably channels either the softer side of Kinski or Thomas Newman rocking out, depending on your perspective.

Although each portion of Numbers has a different project manager, claims it was created by a sole voice would’ve raised neither of my eyebrows. The Space/Movement Project seem to have truly found their collective identity — the production aims to express “a common desire for comfort and familiarity” despite differences of origin and, in this regard, it hits the mark. “Simply Vessels,” a duet by Stacy Wolfson for dancers Anne Kasdorf and Chloe Nisbett, skirts reference to Islamism with costumes that include a sort of hijab; there’s room enough in an ambiguous treatment for them to be non-denominational shrouds, but coupled with some later images of wrists locked together as if cuffed it certainly looks as though Wolfson is incompletely processing current events. At one point one dancer looks into the distance with another behind, her face directly above the first’s, their gazes fixed on the same spot. When they reassemble, the dancer behind lets all her weight fold the other in half — once a partner, she has become a burden.

Nothing in Numbers is what I’d call “dark,” but an easier mood definitely suffuses “Hanging Portraits,” a trio for Allyson Esposito, Leah Raffanti and Schneeberger created with Maggie Koller. In matching summery print dresses Empire-waisted with a lilac ribbon, they start by deliberately executing a series of gestures facing one another. The series is repeated right away, faster and with a lighter touch; like an old car finally turning over, it’s enough momentum to get things rolling. Another pleasant trio, “Function,” finds Esposito, Nisbett and Jessie Young in Kasdorf’s world, leapfrogging through almost-synched repetitions of swinging arms and tiny pull-start engines imagined just under the marley.

Finale-by-default “913 Carpenter Street” is arranged such that the dancers are repeatedly grouped into three pairs with one woman out. It’s smart shorthand for the evening’s theme while creating some necessary fore- and background in the ensemble wash. It opens with a procession almost like a fashion show, and for good reason: Collin Bunting created some twenty garments for Numbers and these last comprise a sunny collection of Spring ready-to-wear reminiscent of Jeffrey Sebelia. (Closing out the decade the way Lara Miller opened it, Bunting consistently impresses with the variety of her designs as well as her ability to pump them out by the dozen.) Esposito has directed this full-company dance with wit and calm; it does all the sections the favor of ending things well. I was reminded on multiple occasions of Faye Driscoll’s work — while “913 Carpenter Street” never quite goes to the same physical extremes, TS/MP here and elsewhere share with Driscoll signals teasingly open to interpretation and a broad, proud use of space.

In sum, Safety in Numbers could have been labeled as about any number of subjects without having much effect on the audience experience. How it’s probably best approached is as a demonstration of how thoughtful composition and solid, sure dancing can be compelling enough in themselves.

Performances remain tonight, Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24 at 7:30 pm. Tickets ($15) are available here or by calling (773) 744-0332.

So I was watching my favorite show of all time, Rock of Love: Charm School, and in between crying jags over my two favorite Rock of Lovers of all time leaving, I noticed that Jeffrey Sebelia from Project Runway was a judge on the most recent episode. Jeffrey was never my “type,” because I have an aversion to ugly neck tattoos, especially when worn by guys who are so “rock and roll.” Ugh. It’s just grossies.

Anyway, Neck Tattoo Jeffrey has a new mustache.

Well. At least I found something new to haunt my dreams. I was getting tired of that scene in the Devil’s Rejects where Captain Spaulding is having sex with his clown make-up on. To be fair, I just saw that movie this weekend, but I sleep a lot, so there was still lots of dream haunting.

This week’s episode of “Top Design” is the one I’ve been looking forward to the most because they promised “Project Runway” alums. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been a die-hard PR fan since the first season. I was especially excited to see Andrae (“What happened to Andrae?!” as Tim Gunn would say) and Santino from the second season.

Spoilers for Episode 3 ahead, so don’t read if you don’t want to know what happens, okay? Okay. Let’s start the recap!

This episode begins with host India Hicks telling the contestants that they will be designing window displays for an “exclusive boutique” in downtown L.A. Never mind that the exclusive boutique looks like a strip mall in Ohio. They’re going to work their magic and make it fabulous!

Enter the “Project Runway” designers they’ll be working with. Each one has designed an outfit that the contestants will create a display around.

India introduces them: Santino Rice, Jeffrey Sebelia, Andrae Gonzalo, Daniel Franco, and Sweet P.

India says, “I’m sure you recognize them.” Well, I recognized everyone but Jeffrey. What’s up with his new look?

Is it just me, or does he look like Pancho Villa? All he needs is a hat.

Eddie and Teresa (who I still can never seem to remember from week to week–my reaction is always, “Who?”) will be working with Santino. Eddie is beside himself, he’s so excited. He raves about Santino’s look and says it reminds him of “Masquerade” and gondolas.

“This look is sick.” Sick means good, you guys. (Who says my blog isn’t educational?)

Natalie and Ondine are working with Sweet P. Ondine did lots of window displays for the “Sex and the City” movie. Sure seems like she’ll have an upper hand on this challenge.

Sweet P. asks the 20-year old Natalie and the 40-something Ondine, “Which of you is older?” Hmmm. Let’s see. Hard to tell. Oh, it’s Ondine. Sweet P. says, “You’re the leader.”

Preston and Andrea are working with Daniel (who is famous for appearing on “Project Runway” as a contestant for both seasons 1 and 2). Daniel immediately dubs them “Team Gorgeous.”

Daniel has brought a poem to read them. It goes something like this:

“It is night, she is floating, she is hovering, forest of black branches, below is glittering sand. Glittering and undisturbed.”

Daniel tells the camera, “I like to inspire people who work with me. I’m a great person to work with because I make it so easy.” This is SO Daniel if you saw him on PR. It makes me laugh.

Daniel chooses Preston as the team leader. Andrea is pleased that this will mean he’s on the chopping block if the window doesn’t turn out well. She’s wishing she had Eddie as a partner again like last week, but no such luck.

Nathan and Shazia are working with Andrae. Andrae has brought a simple gray dress. He waxes poetic about how it represents the murky political season as we near the November election. It represents uncertainty.

Nathan tells the camera, “The dress was Debbie Downer.” Andrae picks Nathan as the team leader.

“Big Daddy” Kerry and Wisit are working with Pancho Jeffrey. He created a modern suit inspired, he says, by the movie “Blade Runner.”

Big Daddy thinks he’s talking about “Blades of Glory,” a movie that couldn’t be more different. Here are pics from “Blades of Glory” with Will Ferrell:

And here are screen shots from the 1982 sci-fi fantasy film “Blade Runner” with Harrison Ford:

Yeah. A little different. Kerry says, “Oh, I’ve seen that movie.” But as Jeffrey starts talking about “apocalyptic times,” Big Daddy Kerry says (to the camera), “Dear Lord, make me a bird so I can fly far, far away. I had no idea what he was talking about.”

Wisit suggests graffiti on the walls, with a Rococo look. That’s not “high-end enough” for Jeffrey. He gives the leadership role to Kerry, whose idea was to hang mirrored tiles inspired by the work of artist David Hockney (a British artist who was part of the Pop movement in the ’60s).

Jeffrey tells us that he has “all the confidence in the world with Big Daddy. But I think Wisit’s gonna bring him down!”

The teams have 30 minutes to plan and then they go out shopping for materials with $400 in hand. Upon their return, they have 3 hours to get started on their displays. Most of them focus on painting.

Wisit won’t let the Rococo idea go, even though Jeffrey nixed it. He insists that they should hang an ornate foil wallpaper on both sides of the window display. But Big Daddy Kerry is too nice to say anything. He just sighs and says, “I have to compromise.” I have a baaaad feeling about this…

Todd Oldham stops by to check in with them. He gives helpful advice on things like how to break mirrors. Shazia raves that he is the most wonderful, most helpful person in the whole, entire world!!

Kerry leaves Wisit to hold a mirror in place while the adhesive sets. Wisit isn’t really equipped for the job. “Help!” he cries as the window slowly slides down, down, down.

Kerry says, “I wanted to drop-kick him to Jesus, but I just smiled like a Southern gentleman.”

The next day dawns bright and early and the contestants have 4 hours to finish up. Preston holds up the mannequin with Daniel’s dress on it while Andrea works underneath to “hoist it” with a bar. The mannequin is heavy. Andrea isn’t working fast enough for Preston.

“You’ve gotta get the bar in her butt,” he says. “Just get the bar in the butt. Honey, I need you to get the butt in her bar.” Er, you know what he means.

Andrea tells the camera that “Preston has a totally take-charge, dominant personality, and part of being a good designer is getting along with all kinds of personality types.” Like hers, I assume.

Andrae stops by to monitor the progress of his team. He immediately spots the wicker Preston bought and stops cold. He says, “We lived with so much wicker in my house as a child, so I have an aversion to it. No. I’m sorry. The wicker must go. No wicker!“

See why I love Andrae? He cracks me up.

He was not cracking Nathan up, however. Shazia notes that Nathan’s head looked like it was going to explode. In the end, they throw what looks like a sheet over the wicker chair. And that’s better…how?

Jeffrey takes one look at his window with all that Rococo wallpaper and says, “Bleep.” I think this means he isn’t pleased.

Time’s up, contestants. Time for the judges to file in and survey the work. On Margaret Russell’s blog she says it was so cold the night they filmed this that there were snowflakes drifting around. Brrr. They do look cold. I hope that purple sequin beret is keeping Kelly Wearstler’s head warm.

Here’s how all the windows turned out:

They are, in order:

Andrae’s Murky Political Confusion in a Gray Dress (Nathan and Shazia)

Daniel’s “Paris at Night” (Preston and Andrea)

Jeffrey’s “Blade Runner” (Kerry and Wisit)

Santino’s “Venice at Night” (Eddie and Teresa)

Sweet P’s Butterfly Dress (Ondine and Natalie

Okay, time to file into the Judging Warehouse for the verdict.

Kelly is such a pretty girl. Why does she insist on dressing like a homeless person from 1986? Look at those knee socks. Leg warmers? Whatever they are. And that big hair! Crazy. She looks like she may have gone off her meds.

Anyway, so the judges say they loved Preston and Andrea’s understated window that really showcased Daniel’s beautiful gold dress. But in the end they awarded the Top Design to Ondine and Natalie’s butterfly window.

They weren’t as happy with the other windows. They didn’t understand Andrae’s political display. “You need Cliff’s Notes to get what it all means,” Kelly says. Margaret thinks it looks like a high-school project. Jonathan says, “The narrative just didn’t make sense.”

Here’s the look he got on his face when Nathan explained how it represented the Western World meeting the Mideast and all the tension of the political season:

He wasn’t buying it.

The other display they really, really hated was Jeffrey’s, designed by Kerry and Wisit. They didn’t like the Rococo. They didn’t like how the windows were blacked out on either side. The whole thing was a mess and looked nothing like “Blade Runner.” Not only that, but it did nothing for “the merch” as Jonathan calls it (meaning Jeffrey’s suit).

Who should be Auf’d? (Oops, wrong show.) Who should be Latered? (Oops, wrong season.) Who should, um, go home? (Do we not have a clever term for that on this show yet?)

Kerry refuses to throw Wisit under the bus. He accepts responsibility as team leader. And the judges reward him for his honesty and his loyalty by…telling him he’s outta there. They can’t live with his design.

Boo-hiss. I don’t like this decision. I liked Big Daddy. He refused to back stab his teammate. He was pleasant and professional, even if he didn’t know Blade Runner from Blades of Glory. Yes, his window was a disaster area, but I was still sad to see him go.

What do you think? Did the right window win? Did the right person go home?

As the 5th season of Project Runway draws nearer (next week! Yessss!), I can’t contain my excitement

As the 5th season of Project Runway draws nearer (next week! Yessss!), I can’t contain my excitement. I have spent the past week watching all the season marathons (one of the perks of workin’ at home!) and I have even been doin’ a little runway walking everywhere I go. Yes, that is a true story.

In honor of the big event (it will be the last good season of the show before it moves to Lifetime…ew), I decided to take a trip down PR Memory Lane. Where are the big winners now and, more importantly, where can I buy their sh*t?

Jay McCarroll:

We haven’t seen much of Jay since his big win on the first season of Project Runway. Well, I saw him once doing some weird thing where he sat in a window front in some store in NY and talked about all the people walking by. But in terms of designing – the reason he won the freaking show – there has been, well, nothing. It has been years since Jay walked that delicious line down the runway and…nothing. Not a peep. Not a single stitch.

Well, he is finally in business. Online business, to be exact. But is he selling gorgeous knits? Is he making people “see fashion in a new and different way”? No. He’s making f-ing t-shirts…and ugly bags.

Ugh. Bring us the knits, man. The knits!

Chloe Dao: This little lady has definitely taken her Project Runway win the furthest. Dao not only returned to Houston to work on her line (and store), Lot 8, but she has also used her PR success to launch a line exclusively for QVC, Simply Chloe Dao. The line (for the most part…even though my MOM bought some of this stuff)is cute, totally wearable (unlike those giant 80’s prom dresses she marched down the runway at Fashion Week) and affordable! Chloe hopes to open more stores in NY and LA. I hope so too; I heart her.

Jeffrey Sebelia: Since winning the show, this PR badboy has returned to his old life (minus the drugs) running his line, Cosa Nostra. While his name isn’t being dropped like the Pradas and Marc Jacobs of the world, Sebelia has seen some major success with his designs, selling them in boutiques around the world. This designer is definitely workin’ his Project Runway success…I just hope he pulls an Isaac Mizrahi/Vera Wang and stars designing for the poor college students of the world.

Christian Siriano: Even though this fierce (sorry, couldn’t resist) designer is only a few months out of his big win, Siriano is already making a huge splash in the fashion pool. He has already designed clothes for Posh and Heidi Klum, did a little acting on Ugly Betty, is hard at work designing another collection for Fashion Week in NYC and, of course, has created his own dictionary of terms being used by hot tranny messes around the globe.

I can’t wait to see what talented (and hilarious) designers this season brings. Maybe another Santino? A girl can dream….
