I wish I could say I was away on vacation, but even better I just graduated! I just earned a diploma in graphic design to add to my B.A.A. in Integrative Public Relations.

Speaking of higher education, I will be discussing one of the most historic cities recognized for its high concentration in superior colleges and universities…Boston, Massachusetts.

This city definitely made me appreciate the preservation of architecture and lifestyle of old town USA. The history this city emanates is closely followed by its obvious emergence of new technology and groundbreaking design. It is an inspiring place for the artistic of all fashions and quite an enjoyable place to visit, attend school or call home.

Crossing the newly remodeled bridge into the city you would expect skyscrapers and buses and something similar to New York City, (they are there) but soon enough you feel the rumble of the cobblestone, see the streetcars and are surrounded by antique buildings, boutiques and chain stores adorn with the historical facade this city is known for.

(TIP: Driving can be a bit confusing as many of the streets are one way, there are streetcars passing through main streets and have their own rules, but a lot of the streets pretty much make a circle and the people there are very helpful. Driving may be a little confusing, but no matter where you are headed, there is always something wonderful to look at, so get lost and take soak up the city, the riverfront and the suburbs which are scattered with some great bed and breakfasts.

I actually stayed in the Boston suburb of Lawrence and partook in the Feast of the Three Saints, a fairly small Catholic festival celebrating their community with some of the most delicious Italian food!

capslock dc relished the opportunity to leave the district and head to berkeley springs, west virginia for a weekend. there was hiking and apple butter and small town shenanigans, everything we could have hoped for. after a lovely little jaunt through cacapon trail, we headed to earthdog cafe for some live “music” and “dancing”.  the farmers’ market, used bookstore and yarn shop all provided ample entertainment on sunday, before we made our way back to dc. sorry, john denver, wv is beautiful, but we’d rather the country roads take us back home.

De acordo com a Folha Online (e confirmando o post do Televisão é Magia de 17.10.2009), a cantora Madonna foi vista na Bahia na semana passada acompanhada do namorado, o modelo brasileiro Jesus Luz:

Uma imagem da cantora supostamente no Brasil foi publicada pelo site britânico E! Online.

Segundo a publicação, a cantora estava no país provavelmente de passagem, a caminho de Londres, antes de se dirigir para Maláui, onde inaugurou nesta semana uma escola para meninas.

O site afirma ainda que a viagem do casal foi por conta do trabalho de Jesus Luz, que discotecou em um clube chamado Jet Set.

Here is another killer piece by U.K. master mind D*Face, this guy has soooo much talent. I have watched him for years at BRP. Now he is taking over the U.S.A. The print being released through Jet Set Graffiti is called ‘UnAmerican Graffiti’ and it is a ridiculous 21 layer 38 x 48 inch screen print with an edition size of 100, comes signed and numbered by the artist for $$$$. This will be released at a random time on Monday November 2nd, 2009.

A nova campanha de resort de Michael Kors traz Carmen Kass e Noah Mills representando o estilo de vida “jet set” dos supermodels e celebridades, tudo com uma leve inspiração asiática. As fotos ficaram por conta do famoso Mario Testino.

Pas celui dans le ciel, mais celui que nous avons en dedans.  Celui qui fait de nous qui nous sommes, celui sort quand nous sourions, celui que l’on voit dans nos yeux quand la vie est belle.

Personnellement, mon soleil est revenu, il a chassé les nuages même si parfois il y en a un petit qui passe.  J’ai eu un été très difficile mais tout ça est derrière moi maintenant.

Par contre, quelques amies sont présentement au prise avec des mégas nuages qui semblent les empêcher de pleinement profiter de leur soleil.

Je n’ai qu’un message pour vous: le soleil va finir par ressortir, il suffit d’y croire, mais il s’agit surtout de prendre le temps, à l’ombre des nuages, pour faire un deuil sans se faire brûler par ce soleil.

Votre soleil reviendra !   ;0)

Slim Aarons

Increasingly heralded for his influence, Slim Aarons established his place in the Pantheon of great postwar photographers. It was Aarons who perfected, if not invented, the environmental portrait while photographing the international elite in their exclusive playgrounds during the jet-set decades of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, carrying out his self-described mission: to document “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.”

Slim Aarons worked mainly for society publications, taking pictures of the rich and famous both before and after serving as a photographer for the US military magazine “Yank” during World War II. His work has been included in the publications Town and Country, Holiday, Venture and LIFE.

Slim Aarons is internationally known for the positive portrayals he gave to the people he photographed and was invited to high-society gatherings for exactly this reason. His subject matter covered American and European society as well as nobility and both minor and major stars of the day.

Slim Aarons died May 29th, 2006. He was 89 years old.

La Crise !

De quessé ça La Crise ?!

Ben La Crise, c’est un gars (collègue de travail) qui laisse tout tomber et qui décolle en France, La Crise, ça va être l’occasion de suivre cette folle aventure d’un gars fort sympathique et qui, je suis certain, vous accrochera !

C’est entre New-York et le Maroc que le deuxième volet du film « Sex and the city » sera tourné ! Plusieurs scènes seront tournées à Marrakech au mois de Novembre ! Plus précisément au Cristal (restaurant du Pacha) et à la Plage Rouge (plus grande piscine d’Afrique), deux hauts lieux de la Jet Set mondiale !

Le tournage a démarré le 1er  septembre à NYC et devait se poursuivre à Dubaï mais les autorités des Emirats Arabe Unis se sont opposées à ce qu’un film comportant le mot “sex” dans son titre soit tourné dans une ville émiratie.
Les producteurs se sont donc reportés sur Marrakech ou le tournage devrait avoir lieu en Novembre.
Les équipes devraient séjourner à l’hôtel Amanjena et pour l’instant il est confirmé que certains tournages se feront au Mandarin Oriental…

La sortie du film est prévue pour Juin 2010 aux Etats-Unis !

Nije prošlo mnogo, a među njima se rodila velika ljubav. Pevačici je brzo postalo jasno da će je on pratiti i na kraj sveta, ako treba. Kupili su stan, skućili se, venčali. U početku, zbog silnih obaveza, zajedno su provodili toliko malo veremena da nisu stizali ni da se posvađaju. Danas je situacija nešto drugačija! “Muka je što sam ja perfekcionista, stalno sam u žurbi i sve hoću odmah, a kod njega sve može sutra. Nerviram se zbog banalanih stvari, a on se čudi i ubeđuje me da ništa nije vredno mojih živaca. U suštini, odlično funkcionišemo. On me smiruje, a nikada ne zvoca. Relja ne priča mnogo, a ja se “ ne isključujem” tako da se fantastično dopunjavamo! Njemu je važno samo da ima krevet i frižider”, kaže Ćana. Pošto su i krevet i frižider i još ponešto već tu, Relja se zadovoljno smeška. Preseljenje mu teže pada nego Ćani, ali ne buni se. Za razliku od supruge, nomadski nastrojene, on je do sada živeo u rodnom mestu – Doboju. Tamo su mu prijatelji, rodbina, posao… Pošto Ćana veruje da je njena poslovna perspektiva u Beogradu, on ju je uverio da bi za njom na kraj sveta i nije mu bilo teško da postane Beograđanin.

Iako je napravila trogodišnju diskografsku pauzu, pevačica Ćana ne zna gde će pre od posla. Kada je nedavno napravila bilans poslovnih i privatnih aktivnosti ovog leta, i sama je bila zapanjena. Usred nestašice posla za raspevane, ona je oborila sve rekorde…

Ćana: Ne mogu da verujem šta sam sve stigla da uradim i gde sam sve stigla da odem! Pevala sam na 17 vašara, pet svadbi i odradila nekoliko gostovanja po kafanama! Čak sam stigla i album da završim – kaže ponosno jedna od tri najzaposlenije pevačice na estradi.

Uz silne poslove, Ćana je žestoko “stesala” svoju “liniju” i izgleda bolje nego ikada. Stigla je da ode i na odmor, a njen sin, desetomesečni Luka, sjajno napreduje. Ćana se nada da će se njen četvrti album pojaviti početkom jeseni, u izdanju “Granda”. Već je počela da priprema garderobu za njegovu promociju, a u toku su i pripreme za Lukino krštenje.
