I have so much love for the new Amae sandals by Celoe. Not only because the heels on them are killer sexy, but also because of the colours, and the options. Not only do they have 10 beautiful solid colours – I have to admit to you, I actually really like the purple even, and that is a huge thing – but also 8 gorgeous combination duo colours. The HUD also has three metal textures – Silver, Gold, Black – that allow you to change all the metal on the shoes, and it is amazing the difference that the metal change can make. I included pics of all colours and one colour with all the metals, so you could see. With the duos, I also changed the metals to the ones I liked best for my mood at the time.

The silver shines, the gold can enrich and even soften the look, and the black just gives them a funky strong look. I love it. I wanted to show different looks with them, because at first glance its RAWR, but then I realised in the biscotti, that they turned into a gladiator sandal look, which was awesome.

The first pic is to show off some fruityness, the citrus colours of the Zesty and Tang, come together in the one shoe. I love them as stand alone colours, but together, YUM! I was so lucky to be able to find the right yellow in this really cute lingerie set by Mon Cherie. All this bright citrus colouring also allowed me to pull out the Zenith colour in the Effect hair by LeLutka. I also pulled out the dividers from the Shaken WinxBox, tinted them for a brighter green and voila!

Yesterday Whimsy and I went and did some Bodyguard duty for a friend. It took all of 15 minutes, but by then we got carried away with imagining earpieces, and spy suits, and the next thing you know this post was born. Whimsy sent me a cute earpiece attachment, and at first it was about how we could hang from the ceiling and steal stuff, and then it grew, and grew and grew.

When I was in the U.S the first time, I was lucky enough to spend a majority of the time in Boston. I love Boston, I could live there happily for the remainder of my days. One day we went to my families holiday house, and it was a beach house much like the one featured in todays post. It was so beautiful, even more so as it was right on the waters edge, not the beach side, but the lake side. The area was so amazing, one thin road separated the two…it was breathtaking.

The Newport Beach House – that is at this months Collabor88 by Trompe Loeil – is laid out so that you can do a lot of entertaining. An L shaped living area at the front of the house, allows you to split it up into a chill area,for listening to music on your scarlet apple record play – also a collabor88 item – which is just so rustic and cute. Then you have the plush seating area, where you can enjoy coffee and a chat with friends or colleagues. Then to business with the other side of the room, that makes space for a desk area, and possibly some low shelving for books. Mind you, with all the windows, I would be way distracted all the time – lucky the whole house comes with the option to close the windows from peeping toms and to give you some privacy also.

First off a response to a comment made yesterday in my post Fly me to your Skybox . I was asked by Lucy, how big the skybox was, what size land it would need, and how to get it into the sky. So I thought that rather than just reply in the comment, I would make it the start of this post.

Being generous with a floor prim, it would be 24 by 19 metres. Because of the L shape of the build, it does not fit on a 512 plot of land, but means you only need the next size up – which I assume is 1024, it has been a long time since I checked parcels. If you are renting from someone, on a residential sim, they would be able to advise. The build does not come with a rezzer, and it is coalesced, so you need to rez while in edit mode. This is an old school way of doing it, and there will probably be a thousand people that will say there are easier, and I hope they do, but here is what I would have done, before I had sim wide platforms in my sky.

Rez a prim and make it the size above 24 x 19 and flatten it. Make sure while on the ground that it fits inside your land allotment. That no parts of it are hanging over the sides etc. Then rez a cube in the middle and link the two pieces together  ( Edit and select both prims and then use the link button in edit) Then sit on the cube. Go into edit on the prim you are sitting on, and go to the second page of edit (object tab) and the first set of numbers on the left (position) where it says Z that is your height. Make that number the height you want to be in the sky. The higher you are, sometimes can effect scripts and the way things rez, so don’t go crazy ( about 1000 ish may suit).

When you change the numbers you and the prims should be instantly sent to that height. you can see at the top of your screen the altitude you are now at. Stand, and make sure your feet are firmly planted on the floor . Go into edit on your prim, and then go to your inventory and drag the skybox to the floor, then move and rotate it as needed to fit on the prim you have made, this way making sure that you will not go over your land available. Once you have it where you want it, you can then look at the check boxes in object tab and choose LOCKED, this will make sure you can’t accidentally delete it. Then you remove the prims you rode up on and you have your new home, once inside of it, you can make a LM or set to home by using the world tab, and making this your home location.

Now another little lesson. This was something to do with the outfit I am wearing in todays post. With MY Ao – and yes with aos being so different and hundreds of options, and thousands of poses, sometimes clothing moves differently person to person. My Ao tends to breathe a lot and my shoulders were pushing out of the dress completely. I had a look at the alpha, and it was not high enough. Now I could have IM’d the creator and waited for a response, and maybe a change, or I could have not worn it, or I could just practice what I preach and make my own new alpha. So I chose that option. I did an alpha making tutorial a while ago, HERE. So I jumped into PS and after four tries I got a good balance of alpha coverage. The alpha layer for the dress was mod, so I added my upper to it, and saved and voila, no more poking through…

1. Happy RezDay Whimsy Winx - I hope that she has the most awesome of days, her being part of my Second Life for 6 years has definitely made it richer.

2. Another good friend of mine is in DC at the moment. Every year he and his partner are part of the SDA Charity Marathon. So far they have raised over 135000USD for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event has gamers from all over, traveling to DC so that they can do speed gaming online. That is probably not the greatest of description of it, these people all come together to not only share their skills, but also to unite to help a wonderful charity. So if you are into gaming, and have a few dollars to spare, click on the link and help them out.

Now onto the fashion. Recently League released these gorgeous faux fur pea coats. The colours and style reminded me of 1985. I was in the UK, and at the time one of the biggest fashion trends was fluffy big faux fur coats like this. They came in fabulous pastel colours, I wanted one so badly. Unfortunately with the price tag, as well as how heavy it was going to be to take back to Australia, it was alas a no go. This coat now lets me have my fabulous memories, look great wearing it, as well as being soft and luxurious.

So today is the day I am en route back to California. As you’re reading this, I’m probably on the plane wearing a flannel and leggings–not this outfit. However, I got these leggings for Christmas and was dying to style them right away. For school days I plan to wear them casually, but today I paired them with this spiked cutout dress I found at TJ Maxx. I thought these pieces went together well because the dress is a little on the short side and also doesn’t compete with the leggings too much. Finally, how amazing is the spiked clutch? I got it as a gift from my mom, she knows me so well!

The track for today’s outfit is “Paradise” by Coldplay. Soemthing about the intro and these leggings seemed to go together for me. Listen along here while you view!

I’ve had a great break being at home for a month, and am going to be a little homesick when I get back to school. However, I’m looking forward to layering pieces for the colder weather and all the fun plans I have for the next quarter with my friends and school!

It is already the second for me, but I can imagine some heads are hurting all over the world right now. The beginning of the month; means it is the start of another round of FaMESHed. Today I am wearing adorable beanie hat/hair by Wasabi Pills, that has a HUD Control for the buttons, the stitches and the beanie itself…so you get to coordinate with your outfit. The necklace – also at FaMESHed – is the full combo of necklaces based on anukaa beads and Ethiopian cross styled jewellery. The beautiful set by Gossamer Jewellery also comprises of many options of wear, giving you strand types as well as earrings – not shown due to length of hair.

The dress I am wearing – by Ingenue – is at Collabor88/December, that is winding down in the next week, so if you haven’t gone back for more of the goodies, take the time now. It is a very simple tunic style dress, but it is the simplicity that makes it so beautiful. The colours available are based on the frost theme of this month, and the length if flirty and fun. The style doe allow for ease of wear over pants, or leggings if you want a warmer look.

Happy new Year from Down Under…it was so loud here for about 16 minutes, I thought that the sky was going to open up and swallow us all. Everyone sounded like they were having a great time though, so there is that. The time to get all dollied up on the other sides of the world ( yes apparently the world that is round still has sides) is coming up fast, and it is time to gather together and sing songs of things that really don’t make any sense, and drink until you can’t remember what it was you wanted to do in the New Year anyway…or not. You can stay sober and have just as much fun, and if you do drink, make sure you stay where you are until you are sober, or walk home, no driving please.

Locking yourself away in an awesome snow cabin, is also an idea. This one by Trompe Loeil is adorable. It is low land impact, and even has snow and trees surrounding it, in case you don’t have the terraforming options on your land yourself. It is a cozy space for one, or two – if you are lucky that way…and it is available in different colours, and there is that lovely corduroy sofa and chair also available at Collabor88. Only a week left to go grab everything at this session.

beading away on new styles and colors everyday!!

First thing I have to do today, is apologise to Mel. In all my trying to make sure that his eyes were not my eyes, and changing the colours etc…I forgot the more important thing. The most important thing of course, was to make sure I was not still wearing my girly girl brow shape lol. When I showed him my post of the Mens Belleza skins, he said it was very peculiar that he somehow looked like me, he of course likes to rib me at every and any opportunity, but I made loud exclamations of “NO WAY” and then he let me know my brows were still MY brows. So Mel my handsome thick browed Man, I love you, and I am sorry I made you look girly browed. This just of course gives you more of a reason to go over to Belleza and try all the male skins on yourself, with your Manly brows.

A day or so ago – time is lost on me these days – Whimsy and I went over to Scarlet Creative, as she is having a huge SALE. The SALE actually ends today, so you need to get over there fast. You will also need some time, because you will be going through two of  the rezzers and wanting to snatch up pretty much everything in sight. Be aware though, the stuff in the rezzer is much older, and has a huge prim count in most cases, so even though they are reduced to an incredible 50L if you do not have the prim budget you will find yourself in trouble. But I highly recommend buying up lots of them, because they are great to even pull apart and use for backgrounds etc. As well as the rezzer items, there are some newer less prims houses/builds for SALE prices as well. They are in the 250L price range, be very sure though when buying, because I did notice that one or two of them had both pay and buy options, and one is not sale priced…

Countdown is Progressing…………now get that song out of your head. It is Boxing Day Down Under, and Eating Day down here was wet and much cooler than years past. It was a lovely day though spent with my Mum, and nibbling on delightful foodstuffs throughout the day. I hope you all had a wonderful Eating Day with your loved ones. The day before was Anessa Stine’s Rezday, so to all those that also celebrated rezdays this week – there are a lot that join over the holidays, what with new pcs and all that jazz, I hope you had much fun, and had people that adore you and are grateful you joined SL as much as we are that Anessa did many moons ago.

A bit of a MichaMi roundup today, as soon as I saw the Blanche tuxedo jacket, I got all excited about looks I would want to do. I had to size up and size down to achieve maximum mix and match potential, but with the greatness that is standard sizing, that was achievable. I layered the fabulous jacket over the recently released Kiaa dress. The dress is a lovely mini with side panels and ruched front effect – the ruching is stronger at the torso. The dress can be casual or dressy, dependent on how you wear it, and what you wear it with. I also added the lovely tilda leggings underneath, that are also mesh. The leggings will not fit under if you don’t have the room, but the look can of course be recreated with system leggings as well. It will all just depend on what sizes you have to play with, for a good look body wise….

While taking pictures I have been listening to Cher on Spotify. If you have never tried Spotify, you really should, because you can listen to just about everything. I have always loved Cher, but it was not until tonight that I realised Bang Bang was actually her song, and Nancy Sinatra covered it. I have been spending a bit of time on the ground this week, meaning the land level at The Deck sim…due to the opening of My Attic for December yesterday. The theme for this session is Countdown, and it has probably been driving Whimsy crazy, because I keep singing out “COUNTDOWN”  - it was a top 40 music interview type show here through the 70′s and 80′s. Here you can see an old old old interview with Michael Jackson, so you can see how we were entertained Down Under as teens.

So with the holidays right around the corner it’s time to get some ideas of party outfits and cocktail dresses for us to rock. Today I’m wearing an outfit idea that may be appropriate for either drinks with the girls or a New Year’s Eve get-together. I wouldn’t quite recommend this for an office party though, you may get more than a promotion with this one, lol.  Anyway, it’s the Black Lace Floor Length Batwing Dress ($49) from Chic and Curvy Boutique in California. Chic and Curvy is owned by blogger Melissa McElroy whom I’m featured here on my blog before. I saw the dress last month on her facebook page and immediately hit her up for the deets on it. Once it arrived I said to myself now how can I hook this up in a unique way. I sat here pondering for the last few weeks and then it finally all came together. When I did my Cleopatra post the other day I reminded myself that I had purchased a gold head-chain (from Earrings Plaza,$5) this summer while in NYC. Then I remembered that I had a Gold Seiko Watch ($236.25) to review for the Watchco Company and coincidentally had just ordered this gold & black clutch from Macy’s ($41) last week and from there my outfit was complete.  

The dress is very form fitting and may run a little small so just go a size up and be sure to wear a one-piece body shaper underneath it. I would also suggest getting help putting this dress on due to the delicate lace and the 3-buttons on the back at the neck. But if you have to get dressed solo, just step into the dress and slide it up on you. (I forgot to get pics of me from the back so below is a model wearing it showing the back details). I put my jewelry on last to be sure that I wouldn’t snag the dress. Luckily the watch snaps on like a bracelet so that was a cool and easy feature to maneuver.

Next I must talk about my latest experiment. Now I have been wearing my nails short for years now and I just prefer them that way. No fancy designs, just plain polish (well maybe from time to time I may do assorted colors on my nails) and acrylic over them. However, I have been obsessed with this new Stiletto Nails trend for over a year but was hesitant to try it. That was until yesterday. I figured WTH, it was 12-12-12 and that was the last repeating number date of the century so why not go out on a limb, lol. I had to cut my real nails down and get a new full set of acrylic tips that had to be filed in this stiletto shape. Now mind you, I have been going to the same nail salon for almost 7 years and this was her first time doing this technique. Luckily I had googled pictures and printed them out for her as examples. I also took inspiration from Tiffany of Lace N Leopard‘s new set too.  I think she did a wonderful job. But let’s just see how long I last with long nails:

A store that does an incredible array of colours and prints is The Plastik. They also dabble in just about everything, from clothes to skins and accesssories. The accessories being the main focus of todays post, because the jewellery items are truly Must Haves. First though the skin is part of an all in one look, with eyes, ears – elf shaped, and skins with make up and tattoos of freckles. The skin has very strong detailing and an incredible looking stomach, so demo them and see if any of the looks go with yours.
