As we promised yesterday, we’re going to present you a special video list today in order to get you into the right “New Moon mood”. A few days ago I was completely obsessed with watching the newest premiere vids and interviews. After seeing all the red carpet stuff and picking all my favorite tv specials, I couldn’t wait for the movie to finally hit theaters. So to give you a good start for another workweek and to keep the crazy New Moon mood up a bit longer, here come the top five New Moon videos to enjoy on an otherwise boring monday (Only half a top ten list this time, cause watching 10 vids would take like what? Two thirds of your workday? Perhaps the whole, because you’d probably watch them all over and over again. Believe me, yes they’re that good!). Without further adieu, enjoy!

1. This one is perfect to refresh your memory of what the whole story is about. Watch as Peter Facinelli and his lovely wife Jenny Garth act out New Moon with the Edward, Jacob and Bella action figures.

After they summed it all up for us again and now that we’re really down with the plot again, it’s time for the next video!

2. The Twilight Trinity aka Rob, Kristin and Taylor at the Jimmy Kimmel show. Hear them talk about the vampire chippendales and Rob’s ass injury and see as Taylor Lautner gets way embarrassed when they show one of his childhood martial arts vids.

Have you noticed Kristen Stewarts red soles? Louboutins again. Damn, this girl’s got an awesome high-heel collection! But let’s not linger on that before I grow too depressed… Off to the next video!

3. Chris Weitz, new DILF in town on the LA New Moon premiere. In case you don’t remember the orange pants he wore in London, click here to enjoy them (again) before watching the video! Honestly, you need this to get all the funny stuff!

Isn’t he cute? And he shudders to think of himself as a DILF. I already love him right now. Chris Weitz, would you marry me? Or wait, you are already married… So what if I name my children after him to honor his greatness? Chris Edward Jacob Soul, awesome! Okay, over to the next!

4. The Jay Leno New Moon parody called “Newer Moon” combined with amazing red carpet journalism. This includes the vampires attorney, some shirtless scenes and an invitation to the wolfpack-party. Don’t miss it!

Anyone else who wants to come to the wolfpack-party with me? Cause obviously these guys need some hot chicks over there to show them some love…ifyouknowwhatimsayin… Sorry, got carried away. Off to the next!

5. Carrie Keagan does it again, New Moon uncensored, my absolute favorite. They did it with Twilight last year and that was definitely my favorite interview ever since I discovered it. Attention, don’t watch this in front of your mother, grandma or children! Lots of expletives but also more laughs than in any other vid you will find. Carrie Keagan discusses the WILFs and VILFs (new technical term!), upper body nudity, the Taylor Lautner nude scene and the DVD extras (SPOILER: shirtless and jortless wolfpack). Enjoy!

The wolfpack when they get the meaning of WILF, Rob accidently revealing that there’s a nude scene, Kristen talking about objectifying the guys, Elizabeth Reaser aka Esme eager to see them with their jorts off, Chris Weitz totally getting the WILF stuff and laughing his ass off… priceless!

So now after we got you into the right New Moon mood, go and see the fucking movie! Cause it’s pretty fucking awesome! Honestly, trust KStew and the crew!

After months of ignoring the impending drama that we love and know as New Moon, I actually went to see the movie on opening night. Totally uncharacteristic of me, but in my defense it was not my idea. My friends bought tickets beforehand, and happened to have an extra one.

What?! I had been jonesing for a girls night, so I went.

A girl dressed up like a werewolf was in front of me in line. Many more females walked by with huge tubs of popcorn, clutching blankets emblazoned with Robert Pattinson’s face. And when I finally found a seat in in the theater, I was surprised by the age of many of the attendees (read: middle-aged women). For the majority of the movie, I made snide remarks to my friends about the cheesiness and awkwardness that is so prevalent in the Twilight series. Lines like “You can trust me. I would never hurt you” did not tug at my heart strings like the director had intended, I suppose. Maybe because I’d heard them in 34,902,834,983 other movies, as well…

It wasn’t all horrible, because I can appreciate some man candy every now and then. Fortunately, this movie could just as aptly be named A Showcase of Half-Naked Adolescent Males – cut off jean shorts never looked so good, I tell you. My friend and I argued over how many packs Taylor Lautner has obtained in his abdominal region:

Just look at him! He makes Robert Pattinson look like a pasty, skinny, uptight hobo with a vitamin D deficiency. Eating every two hours, working out for four hours a day… Lautner’s going to be a sex symbol and he’s not even legal yet! Yes, he is only 17. And on an unrelated note,  originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan! I love it when good things come out of Michigan.

This also reminds me of the Jimmy Kimmel Show last Friday. Audience members had the opportunity to ask Kristen, Taylor, and Robert questions.  Somewhere between an audience member’s obvious stalking incident and another audience member’s marriage proposal, a woman questionably over the age of 30 (so she really has no excuse for her behavior) asked Taylor Lautner to take off his shirt and give it to her. Lautner was predictably astonished. Her reasoning? “You do it [take off your shirt] all the time in the movie…” FOR SHAME, middle-aged woman obsessed with Twilight! Someone please tell her to stop harrassing 17-year-old boys. And while you’re at it, break the news that vampires don’t exist. She’ll be crushed.

Anyway, after wasting 2.5 hours of my life, I went home and pondered where the hell society was headed. The movie didn’t do much for me in terms of thinking or even stretching the limits of my imagination. The gratuitous shirtless scenes (aka the entire movie) were reminiscent, as Jimmy Kimmel so eloquently put it, of “Chippendale vampires”. What could I get out of the movie, if anything?

I found an article entitled 7 Popular Chick Flicks That Secretly Hate Women. And I loved every word of it, although became a bit saddened that some of my favorite romantic comedies were featured on the list. Now I won’t be able to think of them as fondly. But I was overjoyed with the dead-on Twilight criticism. As the author, Erica Cantin, says, “This entire movie [Twilight] is one black-eyed-teen away from being a PSA from 1989.”

So maybe the movie will have some intellectual and cultural value after all…

SPECTACULAR MOVE,” were the words of legendary NBA commentator Marv Albert… during the 1996 Bulls championship title run when Michael Jordan went gliding through the air for a one-handed jam. In a news release from the Associated Press, “Marv Albert denies altercation with rapper 50 Cent,” the 68-year-old voice of basketball said the only beef in his life at press time is in regards to Kobe. Among Late-Night Writers, Few Women in the Room

Based off this article, I’ve formulate my personal top 6 issues I have with Late-Night

1. Letterman’s audience is 55 percent women; Mr. Leno’s is more than 53 percent, and Mr. O’Brien’s just over one half. Yet barely any female writers
2. If a “dude” is the host, you have to write like a dude. Think about it, all late night hosts, minus the newly added Chelsea Handler, are guys. So where are the opportunities for women?
3. Letterman’s scandal pretty much cast a shadow on women working for late-night TV.
4. “Boy Humor” is keeping women away from late-night jobs, according to the article. Yet the audience, which over half are women, seem to be eating it up. So why not give them a chance?
5. Mr. Kimmel and Mr. Leno both have female executive producers. So big deal, there’s one female in charge. What about all the other positions.
6. And it’s now official: Women dominate men at every level of higher education, in terms of degrees conferred. Yet the entry level jobs for women writers on television is mostly held by men. Interesting.

This week, the stars of the vampire movie New Moon were taking over late night TV.

I personally don’t read the books, but I have enjoyed the vampire shows and movies Vampire Diaries, Tru Blood, and Twilight. Twilight was not expected to be as big as a craze as it has become, so the first movie did not have that much funding. Now, with more money backing the cult-like following series, New Moon is getting tons of press.

Last night we went to visit my friend John who works on Jimmy Kimmel live. Here’s Elizabeth on Hollywood Boulevard, across the street from the Kodak Theater, home of the Oscars. This part of town is so cheesy but if you’ve never been to LA you have to go.

Part of the Kimmel taping was an outdoor performance from Leona Lewis which will air next week.

I am sure Leona is a very nice person but the performance was BLAH.  It seemed like she was doing the audience a favor by showing up. Nevertheless, it was cool to be on the side of the stage to see how it all worked.

Later on we went to a party hosted by TNT at the hotel.   We’re here in conjunction with the new show “Men Of A Certain Age”.  If you are a fan of 790 The Zone, Nick Cellini is here with his wife Carrie.  They are GREAT.  There are DJ’s here from all over the country for this press event.

Later today we are going to talk to Ray Romano about the new show.  I’m not just saying this because they sent me here—but it’s fantastic (it debuts December 7 at 10pm).  We’ve watched the first few episodes and it’s really, really good.  Check back later on, we’ll get some stuff with Ray and other highlights from LA.  The full interview will air on Dave-FM (and here) on December 7.

Twilight Singapore staff members are burning the midnight oil to make sure you guys have a good time at New Moon Festa tomorrow. I will not be with them but am gonna be Skype-ing them to lend them my support any way I can.

In perhaps one of the oddest moments of the week, 50 Cent’s crew got tangled up with longtime basketball announcer Marv Albert backstage at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday (November 18). 50 and Marv both appeared on the show that night, and according to the Los Angeles Times, Albert received a chilly reception from 50’s entourage when he arrived at the studio. Apparently, they didn’t recognize the venerable voice of the NBA, and they were under the impression he was trying to impose on 50’s interview. So when the broadcaster entered the building, what went down? Punches were thrown, obscenities were spat out and things got quite hostile.

Although the details remain unclear, the 68-year-old Albert was in the middle of it all. Even when a Kimmel staffer identified Albert, 50’s entourage remained unswayed. Somehow, Albert got out of there unscathed, remarking, “Did you see that? I thought they were kidding, then I realized they weren’t.”

Both Albert and 50 were interviewed later and neither made any reference to the incident. In their defense, most people know Albert’s voice more than his face. In fact, Albert could have probably avoided the whole incident had he simply shouted “LeBron James for three! Yes!”
