Last night became accustomed to The Runaways. There was a particular member of the band that immediately caught my eye, considering that I’ve admired her from a young age.

And no. It has nothing to do with the fact that Kristen Stewart plays her in an upcoming movie.

Anyways, I suddenly caught myself reading her biography on wikipedia and then I searched for her music.

I realized how badly I wanted to play the guitar. I’d always wanted to do it, but now I feel like, If I don’t learn and play then I’ll fail at life.

If you didn’t know New Moon was released last week you must have been on another planet! Twi-mania is everywhere and it’s a seriously hot topic in my office. Well the Edward Vs Jacob issue is certainly discussed at every opportunity! And with the stars of the film appearing in every magazine under the sun it’s hard to not get talking about the fashion too. (Check out how gorgeous Ashley Green, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz look in December Glamour).

On the Kristen Stewart front its been a little hit and miss. I’m not gonna start on the hair – surely there was something a hairdresser could have done with her Joan Jett mullet but anyway! She’s a gorgeous girl; a bit alternative, likes the rock chick look but finds the whole celeb thing a bit awkward – but that’s cool. This outfit however was not.

What the hell was she thinking? What was her stylist thinking? I know, I know it’s Proenza Schouler but it just isn’t a good look on her! She looks so much edgier in these more body-con numbers and the more feminine shapes are so much more flattering! Get its sorted Kristen.

Kristen Stewart tem pressa. Aos 19 anos, a atriz usa três relógios de pulso e parece ansiosa.

Na entrevista para a Folha, num hotel de SP, cutucava sem parar o joelho direito, gaguejava e meneava a cabeça.

Talvez fosse estresse. Kristen teve passagem relâmpago de um dia pelo Brasil, ao lado do ator Taylor Lautner, para divulgar “Lua Nova”, segundo longa da série Crepúsculo, com estréia mundial no dia 20.

Robert Pattinson não veio. É que, no filme, seu vampiro Edward termina o namoro com Bella para depois desaparecer.

No Brasil, Kristen e Taylor também sumiram no rasante: em 30 horas aqui, só saíram para uma churrascaria.

Na sala VIP do restaurante, encararam rodízio. Bife “ancho” (5cm de altura), picanha (sanguinolenta?) e guarnições custaram R$ 84 por cabeça.

O jantar durou duas horas, até que foram reconhecidos por uma tiete e saíram fugidos. Como fugiram também da legião de fãs – alguns pagaram R$ 430 para ficar no mesmo hotel cinco estrelas que eles.

• Folha – Filmar “Crepúsculo” foi mais divertido do que “Lua Nova”?

Kristen Stewart – Nããão… Foi diferente. Ambos são muito diferentes. O primeiro foi mais difícil porque tínhamos de trabalhar mais para conseguir o que queríamos, porque não tínhamos tempo suficiente. No primeiro filme, interpreto uma garota bastante simples, que não é introvertida, mas não se interessa por muita coisa, está entediada com a vida. Ela cai de cara no mundo mais insano possível. No segundo filme, ela está se esfarelando. Foi muito difícil emocionalmente.

• Folha – A cena da despedida entre Edward e Bella lhe desgastou pessoalmente?

Kristen – Sim. O problema do término é que há uma só cena em que ele diz “ok, estou lhe abandonando”, mas a separação tem um curso de duas semanas no decorrer do filme. A Bella sabe muito antes que as coisas vão mal. Algo está muito ruim e ninguém fala nada. A cena do término é muito difícil, mas é o que vem depois que complica mais. Quando ele termina com ela, é como se dissesse, de repente: [quase se levanta da cadeira e fala alto] “Estamos na Lua. Estamos na Lua e, desculpa, não há nada que você possa fazer a respeito”.

• Folha – Você levou a tristeza do filme pessoalmente?

Kristen – Eu… Eu… Pessoalmente, pessoalmente, não. O Edward não terminou comigo. Quer dizer, terminou. Como atriz, você sabe que há emoções distintas que precisa alcançar, por causa da intensidade das emoções do livro… Afetou pessoalmente… Não pessoalmente, mas emocionalmente porque eu não consigo fazer nada sem acreditar. Eu estava com o coração partido pela Bella. Você não pode fazer um filme se não for louco. Atores são meio loucos.

• Folha – Você é meio louca?

Kristen – Antes de entrar no set, eu pirei. No momento em que vi o Robert [Pattison] na floresta, comecei a chorar, então é claro que me afetou pessoalmente. Mas não a minha vida de verdade.

• Folha – Você usa três relógios?

Kristen – São todos armaduras. Este é da minha avó [no braço direito], este é do meu pai e o terceiro foi a Joan Jett [roqueira americana que ela interpreta no filme “The Runaways”, que estreia em 2010] que me deu.

• Folha – Se fosse vampira, quem morderia?

Kristen – Meu gato. Ele ficaria no meu colo eternamente.

• Folha – Como foi ver o seu papel crescer de coadjuvante a personagem principal?

Taylor Lautner – A grande diferença é que não sabemos o que estávamos fazendo em “Crepúsculo”, não sabíamos o que esperar. Agora, eu diria que me senti mais pressionado. Sabia exatamente o que as pessoas estavam esperando.

• Folha – Até o início das gravações de “Lua Nova”, seu nome não tinha sido confirmado no elenco. Você achou que fosse ficar de fora?

Taylor – Ahn… Talvez. Mas eu sabia onde o personagem Jacob tinha de estar nesse filme. Então, no dia seguinte ao fim das filmagens de “Crepúsculo”, comecei a me preparar para o papel fisicamente, malhando que nem louco, e mentalmente também.

• Folha – Mentalmente? Como?

Taylor – Li os livros. Estudei os livros. Pus o foco naquilo que eu poderia resolver, sem pensar… Assim que o Chris [Weitz, diretor de “A Bússola Dourada”] assumiu o projeto, me chamou.

• Folha – Ficou feliz quando o seu personagem corta o cabelo nesse filme e você tira a peruca, que disse odiar?

Taylor – Nossa, e muito!

• Folha – Qual era o cheiro da peruca?

Taylor – Ahahaha! Como assim, qual era o cheiro?! Eu não a cheirava muito. Estava mais preocupado com os cabelos ficando na minha cara. Era incômodo, por mais que fosse cabelo de verdade!

• Folha – Se fosse vampiro, quem morderia?

Taylor – Acho que meu cachorro, um maltês branco pequenininho.

Whenever I interview a musician, I can hardly wait to get to my favorite part of the interview is asking an artist about the inspiration behind his or her songs.  The inspiration for songs is as imaginative as can be—some stories are silly, some are lovely, others aren’t all that special—but they’re all interesting.  This is why I love the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul Book: The Story Behind the Song.

I know, I know.  I usually stay away from sloppy, emotional stuff, and Chicken Soup books can definitely fit that category, but this book is different.  It offers a look into the minds of contemporary artists from a variety of genres, such as Jewel, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, John Legend, Rick Springfield, Iggy Pop, Tom Higgenson of Plain White T’s, Ann Wilson of Heart, and many, many more!

For example, did you know that “Jessie’s Girl” was written about a cute girl in Rick Springfield’s stained glass class, the guy’s name wasn’t actually Jessie, and that it was the catalyst for his career?  How about the fact there’s a real Delilah who inspired “Hey Delilah” by the Plain White T’s, but Tom Higgenson never actually dated her?  I have learned all sorts of interesting facts about some of my favorite songs—“Livin’ On a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, “Operator” by Jim Croce (yes, I’m a dork!), “At Seventeen” by Janis Ian, “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett, and “Right Here Waiting” by Richard Marx.  And I finally know what “Sister Christian” (Night Ranger) is all about!  That in and of itself is worth the price of the book.

La prima di New Moon che si è tenuta a New York poteva quasi fare invidia ad una notte degli Oscar per la quantità di attori, modelle, stilisti, cantanti e altre celebrities che vi hanno partecipato. Chiaramente sotto i riflettori vi erano gli attori di New Moon, che si sono presentati super eleganti. Non mancavano di certo Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz e Taylor Lautner, ma come al solito un occhio agli outfit lo dedichiamo alle protagoniste “donne”.

La più attesa era senz’altro Kristen Stewart, che ha sfoggiato un abito Valentino e un paio di decoltè open toe Sergio Rossi con plateau. Capelli raccolti ed occhi in primo piano: finalmente non scivola sul look. Altra star amata dai twilighters è Ashley Greene, che indossa un mini dress D&G. Un outfit costruito tutto sui toni del bianco e nero, con un tocco di rosso sulle labbra: decisamente perfetta.

Attrice non altrettanto amata dai fans della saga è Nikki Reed, che ha scelto invece un abito in raso beige D&G e dei sandali Jimmy Choo. Passiamo ora agli ospiti, perchè a New York non poteva mancare di certo Taylor Momsen. Se gli attori di Twilight hanno preferito togliersi di dosso l’immagine vampiresca, gli ospiti sembravano usciti da un party di Halloween dal tema gotico. Infatti, Taylor indossava un abito Dolce & Gabbana e dei tronchetti neri. Il trucco è nero e pesante intorno agli occhi, con la bocca rosso sangue (non vi ricorda Leighton Meester?).

E tra le modelle ecco Agyness Deyn, con un look gotico, creato grazie a giochi di pizzo e di toni scuri, come il nero ed il blu. Jessica Szohr punta su una camicia bianca ricca di merletti e rouches, abbinata ad una giacca nera e jeans in tinta. Anche gli accessori sono rigorosamente black: borse in vernice e scarpe nere, impreziosite da particolari bianchi.

Red Carpet ricco di star di Gossip Girl, dato che vi era anche Ed Westwick. Mentre tra i cantanti troviamo Fergie e Joan Jett, ormai “madrina” di Kristen.

Her story starts in Adelaide on the southern tip of Australia where, at the age of six, Orianthi began taking an interest in her dad’s record collection. “Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Cream, Santana. he was into guitar players that are real songwriters,” she boasts. Growing up in the 80s, a decade remembered for its many guitar greats, Orianthi also listened to a lot of Whitesnake, Van Halen and Def Leppard. Her father, who used to be a player in a Greek band, also kept plenty of instruments around the house, and it didn’t take long before Orianthi strummed her first chord. Mastering the six-string came naturally.

“When I was 11, Carlos Santana came to play Adelaide and that show really affected me,” she recounts. “I begged my dad to get me a second hand electric guitar so I could be like Carlos, and that was it, no more acoustic. After that, I would buy all of Carlos’ videos – on VHS! – which I kept rewinding to try and learn his solos. I totally wore out the tapes.”

Some seven years later when Carlos Santana passed through Adelaide again, Carlos’ brother arranged a sound-check meeting between the guitar god and his young disciple after hearing some of her music. A sound check jam evolved into an invitation to join him on stage where Orianthi played for about 35 minutes and took a solo in front of a hometown crowd. Performances, tours and guest appearances with STEVE VAI, ZZ TOP and PRINCE have kept Orianthi busy up to this point.

But guitar is far from Orianthi’s only means of expression. Before she received the call from the King of Pop, Orianthi had already been hard at work on her upcoming album, Believe, on which she sings, writes and leads her own band. Working with Geffen Records Chairman and A&R veteran Ron Fair and producer Howard Benson (All American Rejects, Daughtry, My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace) her fierceness of character has made its way to songs that will simply knock the socks off of any boy in the rock star schoolyard.

Orianthi packs modern girl-power punch into every turn of phrase, but it’s the shredding that takes her brand of rock to an entirely new level. Joan Jett uno de los iconos femeninos del rock mas grandes, hizo de una canción que paso sin pena ni gloria en la historia a todo un himno del R&R, la canción apareció en su disco homónimo en 1982 junto a su banda “the blackhearts”. El tema llegó al primer puesto del chart de Billboard y permaneció en ese lugar por siete semanas.

Curiosamente el video se edito a color pero al verlo, a Joan no le gusto por la chaqueta roja que llevaba durante todo el tiempo, por lo que se edito para que fuera a blanco y negro. New Moon Red Carpet Premiere Night from Access Hollywood wherein Dakota Fanning has been to many premieres, but she found the madness at the LA “New Moon” premiere a bit “overwhelming” and “surreal.” Plus, was she shy talking about her kissing scene with Kristen Stewart in the upcoming Joan Jett biopic, “The Runaways”? VIEW VIDEO

The real Joan Jett caught up with MTV at the red carpet premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on Monday night to praise the 19-year-old actress. Check it:

On Kristen’s “Joan Jett” haircut: “I had a big smile. I thought she looked great. She really wore it well, with her body and the way she carried it. It was [weird]. It was like looking at a little sister.”

On getting to know Kristen: “I don’t know that she had specific questions, so much as she just observed me a lot. We talked; I would talk to her. She didn’t really have to ask me. I’d just dump on her my feelings about the Runaways: what it meant to me, what I thought we were trying to achieve, how I felt about girls playing rock and roll and stepping outside the box of what we were allowed to do in life, just that whole thing. And she’d listen to my accent and watch my body language. She’s an actress of weight, honesty, integrity and depth, and she’s very serious. She takes it as art.”

On using her own voice in The Runaways: “She’s singing. She’s definitely doing the singing, yeah. And during the filming, she was playing guitar. We went through it. I showed her the positions that I play — because some guitar players will use different hand positions on the boards — so I showed her how I played it, and she picked it up really well. I’m a lefty, too — not guitar-wise, but in my handwriting. So she switched that up too; she was writing with her left hand. She really, really embodied it.”

On watching Kristen’s past work: “I’d obviously heard about the movie [Twilight], but before she was cast as me, I hadn’t seen it. Of course, when she was cast as me, I wanted to see the movie, and I’ve seen everything she’s done. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really entertaining, and I’m excited that she was cast as me in The Runaways.”

It’s no secret that Kristen Stewart has become very, very famous over the past year. It’s also no secret that she takes her craft very seriously, respects a lot of artists who have come before her and holds a special place in her heart for Joan Jett.

At Monday’s (November 16) “New Moon” premiere, the legendary rocker was a special guest on the red carpet, walking just a few feet ahead of the A-list actress who has spent the past few months sharing her short, spiky haircut for “The Runaways,” an upcoming film about Jett’s all-girl ’70s punk band. Stewart told us the film is going to aim for a Sundance premiere in January, and Jett revealed much more about the pair’s friendship and whether KStew will be performing her own music in the flick.

MTV: So, Joan, are you a “Twilight” fan?

Joan Jett: I’d obviously heard about the movie, but before she was cast as me, I hadn’t seen it. Of course, when she was cast as me, I wanted to see the movie, and I’ve seen everything she’s done. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really entertaining, and I’m excited that she was cast as me in “The Runaways.”

MTV: Kristen told us awhile back that she wasn’t sure if the director would dub in her singing voice and guitar. Will we hear her or a studio musician?

Sympa la question (suggestion) non ? Elle est posée depuis les années 80 par Joan Jett dans cette vidéo que je viens de remonter d’une playlist où je l’avais un peu laissée dormir.

Et pendant que j’y suis, ce serait quand même dommage de faire l’économie du cultissime I Love Rock’n’ Roll… Donc une version avec des images cracras d’époque et une plus récente. Sans même avoir à “Put another dam in the jukebox babe”

Pour l’anecdote : j’ai encore le 45 tours acheté à l’époque. Et ce morceau servit de générique d’ouverture à une trop éphémère émission de Philippe Manoeuvre sur France Inter qui s’appelait – je crois me souvenir – “Je fais du rock”, où défilait la crème de la scène hexagonale d’alors, entre l’écoute des nouveautés d’outre-Manche ou d’outre-Atlantique fort éloignées d’une soupe mainstream montante.
