We’ll its not easy juggling motherhood and a full time job and still find time to get to the gym, es

We’ll its not easy juggling motherhood and a full time job and still find time to get to the gym, especially if your husband behaves like one of the kids. So when did going to the super market or out to the gym become considered down-time? Lately it’s been hard to find any time for myself. Unless I want to stay awake past midnight for some alone time (and trust me, on occasion, I do), how do working mothers really find quality time for themselves without feeling guilty or breaking the budget on babysitters? Do I really need to “pretend” that we are out of milk to get 20 min alone to myself?

Well sisters, for those lucky ones that work out of the house, you can claim to stay late at the office and stroll around the mall instead. You think I’m kidding? How many times does your husband call to tell you he’ll be late, just to grab a beer with a friend? Don’t be naive. If the men can do it, so can we!

But what I really recommend is waking up early. It’s amazing how much an hour of quiet in the morning can do for you. I’m not suggesting that you wake up at 4am just to have an hour to yourself, but if you normally wake up at 7am, then 6:30am for a cup of coffee in the garden will really jump start your day. Everyone needs time to themselves, and everyone needs to find a way to stay sane. So whether it’s an hour in the garden or a stroll in the mall, make alone time a priority (or your psychologist bill will start to add up). One thing is certain; don’t let your family convince you that going to the gym or picking up the groceries is quiet time to yourself.

“Gov Gab is a new blog from USA.gov and the U.S. General Services Administration’s Office of Citizen Services. Written by six federal employees with different backgrounds and interests, Gov Gab will reflect the writers’ personal lives and experiences, as well as the expertise they’ve gained working on USA.gov, the Federal Citizen Information Center, and 1 (800) FED-INFO. Each weekday, you’ll find a fresh post with helpful facts and tips from the government. Readers can join the conversation by leaving comments or e-mailing the bloggers.”

www.usa.gov/Citizen/Topics/Travel/Recreation.shtml

“In USA.gov’s Recreation Area Search box, enter keywords—such as camping, hiking, and fishing—and the state, and you’ll find recreation opportunities on federal lands.”

Big changes for FAFSA this year…

The 2008-2009 FAFSA form will not be distributed in bulk as it has been in previous years. This means, we will no longer have paper FAFSA forms to distribute.

Students who wish to obtain a FAFSA application at the library will now have two options:

FAFSA on the Web (www.fafsa.ed.gov) – This is the preferred method of submitting the FAFSA application. We will still be able to order the FAFSA on the Web worksheets to distribute.

PDF version of FAFSA – Students will be able to download and print out a PDF form at www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov beginning November 15th. The form can be mailed in to the address given.

Students may order up to three (3) copies of the paper FAFSA for individual use by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID. They should receive their copies in the mail in three to seven business days.
