By Illseed

I didn’t want to believe it, but I am forced to see it how the streets see it. One of my contacts hit me with this full run down of what happened at that club in New Jersey. So, basically, the first thing I want to say is that there was no fight between singer/crooner JOE and TREY SONGZ. All the blogs are wrong about that one. Sorry Blogs! It was local guys from the NJ area fighting Trey’s security after one of his security punched a local guy in the face for trying to get too close to Songz. They must not know about Jersey! All HAIL broke loose and a lot of Newark, NJ cats were in the place to be. Whoever got hit, had a LOT of friends. And, after somebody threw a bottle at Trey Songz, it was over! The night went to hell. BOOM! BASH! CRASH!!!!!

Here is the other part and they speak on the Tahiry and Trey Songz part of it.

Seed, I don’t know HOW u get your info so quick, but i was in 501 VIP section that night. The info u have is 100% correct. Tahiry was with Trae all night…and they DEFINETLY left together after the brawl. Almost like they were a couple, they were both huddled up in the midst of Trae Song’s security until the floor was cleared out. They were literally held hostage on stage for about 15 minutes. Dudes AND girls were getting messed up, It was almost like a prison riot. The other websites were wrong in saying it was with Joe’s people.

But Tahiry was DEFINETLY huddle up with Trae during the fracas surrounded by his security team in a protective wall. And they DEFINITELY left together after the crowd was dispersed. He dod say the amazing birthday sex tonite thing. But during t he brawl, Trae looked scared as HELL dog…thats no bulls**t. I was so shocked by his expression that I tried to take a picture but it was too damn dark…lol No cops were inside, so no one was really sure how it was going to end up!! Luckily no one got any firearms inside.

Our next assignment is to write a response to a clip we saw from a documentary-esque filmed on Woods

Our next assignment is to write a response to a clip we saw from a documentary-esque filmed on Woodstock. At first, I was unsure what exactly Woodstock was. Luckily, a friend sitting diagonally behind me helped me in understanding what it was. And after class discussion, I had an even clearer image.

First, we watched a clip of John Mc Donald playing his tune, “I Feel Like I’m Fixing to Die Rag.” Here is the clip (WARNING! profane language is used to illustrate a point, not to be excessive, but it could be misconstrued as offensive all the same)

At first glance, I was a bit overwhelmed. There were hundreds of thousands of people cheering and chanting along with one man on stage. Ironic really. Rebelling the fact that one man (the president) dictates the country’s decision, yet they follow the lead of one man on stage. Irony aside, I was overwhelmed. My idea of rebelling is planning on using all different style chairs around my dinning room table. And notice I say PLANNING. I PLAN on rebelling. Oh how I love irony. Anyways, the power behind the lyrics, and the way in which the lyrics were presented created an extremely powerful message. We are here. We are united. We are not hurting each other. We get along. Why can’t the country do the same? It made a strong point, that I only discovered after the initial shock had settled.

The second clip we watched was of the weather that threatened to ruin Woodstock 69′. Here’s the clip (WARNING! Swearing, but now with a new twist – NUDITY)

Another strong idea was displayed in this clip. While a few were angered by the rain, others embraced. They didn’t let it get their spirits down either. They knew what they were doing couldn’t be stopped by a force of nature, it could only be delayed. They waited it out, until the rain eventually let up. Some embraced the rain so much they stripped down to the buff and slide down mudslides, just for the fun of it. It truly demonstrated the power of the human spirit. Also, it demonstrates the power of surrounding yourself with people who share a common goal. They were all there for the same thing. No hidden intentions. No secret motives. Just fun. And in today’s society, such qualities would be very beneficial.

Finally, we watched a clip of Jimi Hendrix putting his own spin on the American National Anthem. (WARNING! No swearing or nudity in this one. Sorry to disappoint.)

At first, I did not recognize the song. I thought he was just rocking out and making it up as he went along. And that is one of the most significant things about this song. You can barely tell it’s the National Anthem. Similar to how you could barely tell what America’s reason for the war in Viet Nam were. He distorted the song just enough so you could recognize the song, but not sing-a-long. Practically making it impossible for you to sing the National Anthem. Making it practically impossible for you to encourage this country. Making a point, and making it loud. Forcing you to take notice, and relook America.

Woodstock wouldn’t have been something I would have attended. It would’ve been something I would support. I am all for people standing up for what they believe in. Even if their views are different from mine, I love to see people come together, work together, and accomplish what they want to. AND they never resorted to violence. They did a good job of “using their words” as my mother would say. Bravo, Woodstock. You challenged a nation and opened the eyes of the world.

This ends my blog for today.. I hope all the embed’d files work. I’m new to this blogging business.

Until next time cyber space, try to stay out of trouble.

Illseed Intel

Aw man, what is going on? Joe Budden and Tahiry were the Hip-Hop King and Queen, you know, of the regular-types. But now, it looks like Tahiry is doing her own thing crazily. Right now, I have a rumor about here and Trey Songz in Montclair, NJ on Saturday. Here is how it went down, according to sources. First, they are saying Tahiry was escorted into the VIP of the club by security. Now, I heard she and Trey were chilling in the VIP most of the night. Now, when Trey was performing, it was a different story. Dude was wiling out! I heard he was pouring Champagne in girls mouths live on stage. One girl even plopped out her boobs for all to see! I heard he said something about, “What girls are going home with ‘Trigger’ (his alias name)?” But I HEARD at that moment he looked over at Tahiry, saying, “I’m going to have some amazing sex tonight.” For some reason, that disgusts me…not the Tahiry part. But, according to onlookers, Tahiry didn’t look comfortable after he said that part. ALAS, the night ended in a fight between Trey’s security and some patrons. I heard Trey’s team messed those dudes UP and the club was torn apart!

Now according to theybf, this whole fight started after singer Joe and his crew came in the place to be. All this tussling happened in the VIP. Here is another firsthand account of the fight part.

“R&B singer Joe came through Lounge 501 last night, but wasn’t a booked act. So naturally the club tried to accommodate him. Here’s the underlying drama, Joe was seated in Trey Songz section. Now Trey arrives and although everything appeared to be cool, Trey wasn’t that excited about Joe taking up his space. No one really wanted to let Joe know he had to move from that area (assuming because he had the gonnies with him). And Joe’s goons weren’t that excited about them being side eyed by Trey’s people! Joe’s goons got a lil roudy with Trey’s security and a small scuffle begin. And based on the looks of Joe’s camp they weren’t victorious. By this time, Joe’s people are being escorted out by Trey’s security looking a bit hurt, but the situation appears to be tamed. That’s when they turned back and attempted to finish what they started. Now Trey’s skinny ass gets involved and gets knocked down. And more so than Joe’s camp being involved, all the regular dudes were throwing punches and trying to get at him. They were trying to kick him and punch him. Eventually the situation was ceased and Joe’s camp left the building. In all the mayhem Trey and his camp left without a scratch. Joe’s camp on the other hand, not so much!”

The article, “A Case Study in Collaboration: Assessing Academic Librarian/Faculty Partnerships”, by Deborah B. Gaspar and Karen A. Wetzel just appeared in the November 2009 issue of College & Research Libraries. An ACRL login and password is needed to view the final version of the article.
Undergraduates attending The George Washington University are required to take courses in the University Writing Program. When it was introduced in 2004, this innovative program institutionalized collaboration between librarians and writing professors. The program was designed to support the university’s strategic goal to enhance challenge, discovery, and quality in student education. Beginning in 2005, instruction librarians crafted a survey to elicit anonymous feedback from their faculty partners to measure the impact of the library partnership on student learning. The survey is administered annually to explore faculty perceptions and monitor trends. Responses to the survey identify significant strengths resulting from this collaboration as well as specific topics needing further attention.

Opt-Ed by Joe Klein

Time—Over the past few weeks, Barack Obama has been criticized for the following: He didn’t go to Berlin for the 20th anniversary of the Wall’s coming down. He didn’t make a forceful enough statement on the 30th anniversary of the U.S. diplomats’ being taken hostage in Iran. He didn’t show sufficient mournfulness, at first, when the Fort Hood shootings took place, and he was namby-pamby about the possibility that the shootings were an act of jihad. He has spent too little time focusing on unemployment. He bowed too deeply before the Japanese Emperor. He allowed the Chinese to block the broadcast of his Shanghai town-hall meeting. He allowed the Chinese President to bar questions at their joint press conference (a moment memorably satirized by Saturday Night Live). He didn’t come back with any diplomatic victories from Asia. He allowed Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other 9/11 plotters to be tried in the U.S. criminal-justice system rather than by the military. He has dithered too long on Afghanistan. He has devoted too much attention to — and given congressional Democrats too much control over — health care reform, an issue that is peripheral to a majority of Americans.

And all this has led to a dangerous slippage in the polls, it is said, a sense that his presidential authority is ebbing.

As a fully licensed pundit, I have the authority to weigh in here … but I demur. Oh, I could sling opinions about every one of the events cited above — some were unfortunate — but it would matter only if I could discern a pattern that illuminates Obama’s presidency. The most obvious pattern, however, is the media’s tendency to get overwrought about almost anything. Why, for example, is the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall demolition so crucial that it requires a President’s presence? Which recent U.S. President has gotten the Chinese to agree to anything big? (In fact, Obama has secured significant diplomatic cooperation from the Chinese on North Korea, Afghanistan and Pakistan.) Was his deep bow indicative of anything other than his physical fitness? (My midsection, sadly, prevents the appearance of obsequiousness in such circumstances.)

Stepping back a bit, I do see a metapattern that extends over the 40 years since Richard Nixon’s Southern strategy began the drift toward more ideological political parties: Democrats have tough first years in the presidency. Of the past seven Presidents, the two Bushes rank at the top in popularity after one year, while Obama and Bill Clinton rank at the bottom, with Jimmy Carter close by. There is a reason for that. Democrats come to office eager to govern the heck out of the country. They take on impossible issues, like budget-balancing and health care reform. They run into roadblocks — from their own unruly ranks as well as from Republicans. They get lost in the details. A tax cut is much easier to explain than a tax increase. A foreign policy based in bluster — railing against an “axis of evil” — is easier to sell than a foreign policy based in nuance. Of course, external events count a lot: the ratings of Bushes I and II were bolstered, respectively, by the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the flattening of the World Trade Center. Reagan’s rating — 53% and headed south — was dampened by a deepening recession.

yay! Joe did not disappoint. just like normal then, I guess? ahhh i actually love his so much. the world needs more Joe’s.

Hey, I need a joe =D he’s just so perfect. a cute. and his voice just kinda, i don’t know, makes me stop breathing for the whole time he sings.

URGH! Danyl. Fucking hate the guts off of that man. he just pisses me off so much. I hate the way he sings, and, more than that, I just can’t stand the way he is. hes just seems realy pervy and creepy, and on top of that, he needs to get over himself.

And then theirs Olly. Meh. I don’t hate him, but I realy wouldn’t give a bottle of sour milk if he goes. he’s just meh. nothing more to say realy.

Ahhhh Lloyd. I kinda have this love/hate thing going on with him. He’s not bad looking, but theirs better out their, and his singing is OK, but nothing special. I prefer him over Danyl and Olly though, but theirs no reason why.

And then theirs the girl/horse/creature thing, Stacy. I absolutely can’t bear to hear anothing sound come from her face. seriously. please. make her stop. and then, when she talks. wow. thank god theirs never a knife in the room. one thing ive notices is when she says a word, her face doesnt express that word untill AFTER shes said it, its like shes has no idea whats going to come from her mouth and then when she says it her mind is like OH, I SAID SOMETHING!

urgh.

so, can’t wait for next week, Lady GaGa! YAY! C’MON!

Until… Tomorrow (thats for the X Faxtor post anyway, ill probs blog again later) Xx

Quite the come on Sharks performance in their 5-4 shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers. After the 7

Quite the come on Sharks performance in their 5-4 shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers. After the 7-2 debacle last game against Chicago, I expected a bit more effort tonight, but alas, this is San Jose. Effort is harder to come by than a 2012 convention at your local church.

Patrick Marleau scored a hat trick with Joe Thornton as the set-up man on all 3. And every goal of Patty’s looked similar. All involved Joe being at or behind the goal line and throwing the puck to Patty in front of the net. Easy pickings for Marleau, who also tallied an assist later for a four-point night.

Ryane Clowe was the other goal scorer. He and Joe Pavelski camped out in front of the net, and Clowe pocketed the rebound.

Not many Sharks showed up tonight, unfortunately. And since all my angry emotions are drained from the Chicago game, I won’t be going off on them as much.

Please tell me why you wouldn’t play as hard as you could after a crappy performance. Your manhood was tested and you come back tonight with another ball-less act. You’re making a joke of yourselves. This should have been a blowout. Edmonton is destined for the NHL cellar and you guys needed a shootout to beat them? Really now?

I’ve avoided the Todd McClellan criticism, but this goes on him. I still don’t know what he’s like in the locker room, but if he doesn’t yell, that needs to change. This was inexcusable.

Joe Pavelski fights for position (From SJSHARKS.com)

OK, I’m really tired of talking about defensive letdowns but tonight it was as blatant as ever. One Edmonton goal came when Dan Boyle tried to bring the puck into the Oilers’ zone and was pickpocketed. A breakaway later, the Oilers were on the board. Another time, Jason Demers attempted a stretch pass, which was promptly intercepted. An offensive breakout later, another Oiler goal.

I guess I should just accept these kinds of things because that’s what Boyle and Demers do — try to create offense — but it’s just so annoying seeing it EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Tell Me Why

Kent Huskins and Derek Joslin were on the ice in overtime for a 3 on 3 situation. For the love of all that is holy, give me one good reason why those two have any business being out there.

Other Notes

Hit-O-Meter: SJ 16 EDM 22; Douglas Murray and Ryane Clowe led with 3 each.

Torrey Mitchell returned to the lineup for the first time this millenium; however, we didn’t get to see much from him. He accumulated 6:25 of ice time with one shot.

The Sharks play Vancouver on Sunday.
