The B2 Black team played a tough defensive game against the Storm B1.  The B2 Black netminder, Johnny, did a great job blocking the frequent shots from the opponents.  Even so, every once in while one got through.  In this photo, the puck is visible against the white pad that covers the center support in the back of the net.  It’s about eight inches off the ice.

And once in a while, there were a few infractions of the rules.  The B2 Black team had only one penalty that I remember, but the Storm B1 players were in and out of the penalty box all night.  OK, OK, that’s an exaggeration.  But they did end up in the box 3 or 4 times, and at least once the player kept repeating, “I did not hook anybody.  I did not hook anybody…”

On est repartis pour un tour! Au dernier match de foot diffusé à la TV, je me suis rendu compte que la plupart de mes voisins, pour ne pas dire tous mes voisins, avaient des comportements de gros beauf. En effet, vu la nuisance auditive, ils étaient tous ou presque devant le match à hurler dès que l’arbitre sortait son sifflet ou qu’un but était marqué. Ça m’a inspiré un petit topo de tout ce que l’on déteste chez nos voisins les beaufs.

Déjà, on déteste leur façon de parler. Car oui, un beauf a sa façon de parler bien à lui, et n’hésite pas à utiliser toutes les pires expressions possibles et imaginables pour illustrer ses propos. Il va parler – mis à part comme un beauf, je ne vois pas vraiment d’autre façon de décrire la chose – de façon vulgaire, avec des intonations très, très vulgos. Niveau expression, pour illustrer mon propos, il faut une petite mise en situation. C’est du vécu ; copyright Pologne. Il y a un gay dans la salle. Beauf : C’est quoi ce bruit dehors ? Hôte : C’est les grenouilles. Beauf : Ha bah dis donc!  C’est pas des grenouilles de pédé! Situation illustrée.

Ensuite, il y a leur façon de s’habiller. Les beaufs ont eux aussi leur dress-code (ca fait très communauté, je crois que j’ai mis le doigt sur quelque chose) mais il s’agit d’un dress-code un peu particulier. En effet, il privilégie les gros sweats noirs Johnny ou les gros sweats noirs avec des Indiens ou des loups qui hurlent à la lune. Associé évidemment parce que le beauf aime son confort à des baskets. Or, toute personne censée sait que les mots “chaussures” et “confort” ne sont pas faits pour aller ensemble…

On aime pas non plus leur loisirs. Le beauf de base aime se caler devant son match de foot, avec d’autres beaufs si possible, et un pack de 24. Ils aiment aussi beaucoup les rassemblements de tunning, Strip Tease m’en est témoin. Et je crois que ce loisir là égal bien le foot télévisé en ce sens où le beauf se révèle énormément dans ces choses là. Le pire étant peut être quand même le tunning parce qu’ils sont beaucoup à un même endroit, mais ça peut justement être très amusant grâce à cette proximité entre personnes de la même communauté, puisqu’ils s’engueulent très très très souvent entre eux dans ce genre de meetings- et ce pour des motifs de merde comme un bruit de moteur plus puissant qu’un autre – Strip Tease m’en est témoin une fois encore.

Personnellement, je n’aime pas non plus leur manque de culture. La culture, il en faut, je ne dis pas en avoir des tonnes, mais le minimum syndical, le minimum vital quoi. Tandis que certaines personnes de cette communauté (oui, je suis sûr que c’en est une, avec gourou et compagnie – vous imaginez être le gourou de Beauf-land, le pouvoir qu’on ressent ?) semblent être fières de leur maquent patent de culture. Non, Rimbaud n’était pas un blaireau, et non, l’electro n’est pas de la musique de tapettes, pas plus que la pop ou autres choses un tantinet sucrées que les beaufs détestent.

Bon, y en a encore d’autres, et surtout, je déteste leur façon de hurler devant les matches de foot, et surtout devant en particulier devant la main de Thierry Henry hier soir. Oui, 15 hurlements gras simultanés pendant des révisions de chimie inorganique, ça nuit fortement à la réussite du médian à suivre.

Well seeing that we’re 5 episodes behind in Canada (we just got the episode where Adam and Bianca got eliminated), I’ve been going on Wikipedia to see who’s still left in The Ruins and how much money people have in their individual bank accounts.

My neighbor Jason just sent me this clip of what happened on Wednesday’s episode of The Ruins that aired in the US. I had read on Wikipedia that Darrell and Brad had both got disqualified and I didn’t know why. This clip shows the fight between Darrell and Brad.

Since Brad and Darrell are both disqualified, the money they have earned (like Tonya’s) has know gone in the final mission’s total.

dia 20 de novembro de 2008, estava eu, chateado, pouco mais de um mês que tinha terminado um namoro (mas fora de comum acordo, aquele velho papo, sabe? ela entrou com o pé e eu, com a bunda) e estava, senão me engano, freelando (prum cliente que só foi me pagar 10 meses após a data combinada e mês passado ficou fazendo malcriações, me ligando em horários impróprios, pedindo favores e não serviços, enfim: escolham bem seus clientes, moçada!) e naquela quinta-feira de chuva, em meio a devaneios e desejos, um dos pensamentos do ser mais solitário do mundo (que era como estava me sentindo) frente a um computador fora: se eu tivesse um lap top eu estaria fazendo a mesma coisa, só que vendo gente!

precisava ver gente! mas estava chovendo e eu queria ficar na internet… olha que coisa, meus problemas acabariam, além de continuar conectado à rede mundial de computadores, mataria meu desejo que ver pessoas… mas ora, acabei de receber meu computador novo (que foi um acordo com um outro cliente), pra que preciso de um outro (novo)? porque ele será portátil… ah, então tá…

um ano se passou, 300 mil coisas aconteceram, ótimo, e agora me perguntem: quantas vezes, em feriados de chuva, você foi ao ‘café’ com wi-fi para ficar online e vendo transeuntes?

confesso que nenhuma… mas me valeu muito ter comprado… o computador que ganhei está ali, encalhadinho, é uma bela caixa preta, mais conhecida como elefante branco… só me dá problema… já o portátil… uma maravilha…

já levei a lugares, sim… já levei pro saguão do meu cinema preferido (que tem internet sem fio)… e a alguns outros também… mas a idéia inicial ficou pra trás…

minha vida mudou também, né? há 364 dias atrás não esperava que metade das coisas fossem acontecer, só tinha o desejo…

não sei exatamente o porquê, mas coloco aqui algumas imagens de coisas que nunca imaginei que faria, ficariam prontas, teriam um porquê ou receberia…

antes só digo uma coisa curiosa que tenho prestado atenção: a gente, quando olha pra frente, não tem a noção do que pode fazer, mas quando olha pra trás, muitas vezes, desacredita, e acha ‘engraçada’ a forma como os fatos se sucederam… se olharmos pro futuro com a mesma facilidade que olhamos o pretérito, assim como os que ocorreram, mole, mole, os que estão por vir serão da mesma forma, é só acreditar!

Ze heeft blijkbaar 2 jaar binnen gezeten en pas nu begint er wat te kriebelen. Totale narcist dus.
Wie daarnaast over zichzelve in de 3e persoon spreekt:..Gottegot, dat zie je eigenlijk alleen psychopaten doen in enge films. (Denk aan Jack Nicholson in The Shining met zijn:..”heeeeere’s Johnny“)
Met ‘Een elf met een attitude’:..bedoelt ze vast:. Zou graag een elfje willen zijn, maar mis daartoe elk talent.
Met ‘sweep me off my feet’ zal ze wel niet bedoelen dat je haar met een honkbalknuppel neer mag meppen als je haar gelul zat bent.
Ik hoop oprecht dat ze m.n. het 1e deel van haar fijne quote mbt Onze Lieve Heer begrijpt:..dat er na 46 jaar niet veel meer te veranderen is.
Dapper wel weer om te erkennen dat ‘men wel heel bijzonder moet zijn om in haar geïnteresseerd te zijn’. Een normaal mens haakt wijselijk eerder af, lijkt ze toch ook zelf te erkennen.

Cantante del gruppo Talya G.A Solan voce stupenda, ottima persona con cui ho avuto l’onore di suonare nel 2006 in occasione delle registrazioni del progetto “The Right Compilation” e del progetto “Daybox” sulle “parti del giorno”. [Contra-atacando]

A movimentação do Johnny é complicada, então domine seus pokes primeiro. Aprendendo a lidar com seu alcance você consegue contra-atacar o oponente e ditar o ritmo da partida.

Com o Mist Finer level 1, use a Coin no poke do oponente ou no IAD para acertá-lo.
Com o Mist Finer level 2, comece a se aproximar do oponente. Use bastante o 5HS para segurar o oponente, o f.S e 6HS de longe e o 5K/2S de perto. Acertando qualquer um desses golpes, siga com o Mist Finer level 2 (Mid no canto, Low fora do canto) para um dano alto. É preferível usar um 5HS depois do 5K ou 2S para aumentar o dano e facilitar a posição!

Uma técnica crucial para o Johnny é o Mist Cancel. Ela consiste em cancelar um golpe segurando o Mist Finer (Mist Stance) e cancelar o Mist Stance com Cancel (HS). Isso faz com que Johnny se recupere mais rápido do seu golpe, excelente para pressionar ou evitar contra-ataques.

Quanto maior o nível do Mist Finer, mais rápido o Johnny entra no Mist Stance, então mais rápido ele se recupera (confira mais sobre isso em “Mais Técnicas” adiante).

Use o Mist Cancel em golpes fortes como 5HS e 6HS e siga com 6K se o oponente tentar pular para fugir!

[Killer Joker]

O Killer Joker possui um FRC muito útil, tanto em combo como em pressões. A partir de uma pressão no chão, termine com um golpe level 4~5 (ex: f.S, 2D, 5HS, 6HS, 3HS) e siga com {Killer Joker Transport -> Killer Joker, FRC}. O golpe level 4~5 é importante para segurar o oponente no block stun e impedí-lo de fugir pulando.

Após o FRC siga com j.K e alterne entre j.P e {land 2K} para um mix-up simples. Se você usar um JI no meio da sua pressão você terá mais liberdade no mix-up, podendo usar um air dash após o Killer Joker ou JC após o j.K.

O Killer Joker no ar é útil para aumentar seu tempo no ar, confundindo o oponente ou desviando de anti-aéreos.

Você pode fazer {IAD j.K, j.S, Killer Joker, FRC, air dash…} para pressionar ou usaro Killer Joker na altura da cabeça do oponente. Se ele defender, siga com FRC e pressione. Se ele usar um anti-aéreo, você pode cortá-lo e seguir com FRC e combo, ou defender depois do FRC.

[Dois okizemes essenciais]

O okizeme do Johnny é forte, mas difícil de ser aplicado. O ideal é que seja no canto, mas poucos combos conseguem dar knockdown, então fique de olho para não desperdiçar oportunidades.

O primeiro okizeme é a partir do 5K. Solte o 5K de forma que acerte no final do movimento (últimos frames ativos) e alterne entre TK Ensenga e 2S.

Cancele o Ensenga em RC e siga com {air dash j.K, j.D, land, j.K, j.S, JC, dj.S, dj.HS, dj.D, Ensenga} para um dano alto. A partir do 2S, faça {5HS, Mist Finer lv2 – Mid, Coin, IAD, j.K, j.S, j.D, land, hj.K, hj.S, hj.D, Ensenga}.

E o okizeme mais importante: Mist Trap. Solte a Mist com o oponente caído e siga com 3HS ou {2P, 5K}, segurando o oponente na defesa e seguindo com um Mist Finer, que será indefensável devido à Mist.

As melhores maneiras de causar knockdown são combos que terminam em Divine Blade, {Mist Stance Jackhound} com o oponente no ar ou o famoso “Enkasu” (ou “1-hit Ensenga”).

O Enkasu consiste em acertar somente o primeiro hit do Ensenga, sem a parte de fogo. Com isso, o oponente sempre leva knockdown no Ensenga, permitindo o Mist Trap. Isso exige um posicionamento complexo, ou 50% tension para o RC no primeiro hit.

Confira abaixo alguns setups de Enkasu sem RC. Leve em conta que o Ensenga (e, às vezes, os hits anteriores) deve ser atrasado ao máximo para o posicionamento ideal.

Obs: os valores de cada personagem referem-se ao frame advantage após Johnny se recuperar da Mist sem FRC. Com FRC, adicionar +7~+12.

[Sacrificando combos por Coins]

Johnny tem uma certa dependência com as Coins, então várias vezes é preferível perder um combo de 100~120 damage para garantir um Mist Finer level 2 para mais tarde.

Após golpes com prorate como Throw, 6P, 2K e 2S, siga para Coin (use {2K, 2D} para o 2K) ao invés de um combo básico, garantindo seu Mist Finer level 2 para o próximo combo.

[Mist Stance Dash Jackhound]

Se você fizer o Jackhound durante o Dash do Mist Stance, ele ganha um pouco de alcance e aumenta o tempo sem recovery do oponente. Isso aumenta as chances de knockdown se pegar o oponente no ar, ou a chance de continuar o combo no stagger se pegar o oponente no chão.

[Mist Cancel]

Abaixo temos a tabela com a vantagem após o Mist Cancel em cada golpe. Note que ele é influenciado pelo level do golpe e o level do Mist Finer.

[Faultless Defense dash]

O dash do Johnny dificulta a mobilidade dele, mas é possível cancelar a recuperação no final do dash dele com FD. Com isso, você pode fazer dashes mais rápidos, aproximando-se do oponente com mais facilidade.

O comando é feito segurando dois botões para FD (ex: P+K) e fazendo 464646… O primeiro “4″ faz o FD, em seguida o “646″ executa o dash. O próximo “4″ faz o FD, seguido de “646″ para outro dash. Resumindo, se quiser fazer 2 dashes, você terá que fazer “46″ quatro vezes. Se quiser 3 dashes, seis vezes.

The Sun announced today that Johnny Depp has in fact agreed to return for the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (to the tune of $35 million), tentatively titled “On Stranger Tides.” The poster might look something like this:

Why might it look something like that? Why, because Disney has acquired a novel of the same name (whose cover I borrowed for the background), written by magnificient maestro of historical fantasy, Tim Powers. Interviewed by the LA Times, Powers had this (followed after the jump; beware, may be something of a spoiler) to say about Disney’s acquisition of his novel:

“I’ve watched all the movies several times, of course, and I think the clear thing they would use is the trip to the Fountain of Youth,” Powers said. “My main character doesn’t overlap with Jack Sparrow at all [in personality or circumstance]; they’re totally different characters. I suppose they might overlap the Geoffrey Rush character Barbossa and Blackbeard. The only thing I feel certain they will hold on to is the Fountain of Youth since they telegraphed that at the end of the last movie.”

Powers goes on to say that he’s not too bothered as to whether or not the movie strays or rings true to his book, hoping to enjoy the film (and its box office success) as part of the audience and in royalty checks. Indeed! Disney, one of the largest companies in the world can apparently shell out $35 million on one dude; not to mention the rest of the cast and crew and the cost of production.

Dr. Aubrey de Grey, who has been kicking aging’s ass since 2000 after winning a Phd from Cambridge in recognition of his book, The Mitochondrial Free Radical Theory of Aging. Frankly I think he would make an awesome pirate. You hear that Disney? Cast this guy in your movie already! He has a real English accent and everything.

Our goalies had a rough time on Saturday evening. But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t do great work on many occasions, too. Two important updates!

1.  We will be having our FREE screening of “Johnny’s Leaving” on December 12th, 2009.  Held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the South Orange Public Library, 65 Scotland Road, South Orange, NJ.  R.S.V.P. encouraged because space is limited!

2.  We are currently developing a new non-fiction series.  Currently without a title, the non-fiction show will showcase young entrepreneurs, athletes, artists and performers who are struggling to follow their dreams in the falling world economy.  Our first episode will be following Sammy Davis, owner of her own vintage clothing line “Sammy Davis Vintage.”  She will be showcasing her clothing along with other rising “fashionistas” in New York this Saturday.  The event “La Femme Fete” will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at 347 West 36th Street, Suite 503, New York City.  Brotherhood Productions will be covering the event and using the footage to further the new show!  For more info, contact BroPro at info@brotherhoodproductions.tv or Sammy Davis herself, sammy@sammydvintage.com!

As the game continued, it became clear that the New Richmond team brought passing and shooting skills to the match.  Our offense wasn’t shut down, but they had to work hard for their successes.

Melanie Fiona’s debut album The Bridge will be released in the fall of 2009. The debut single Give It To Me Right was released to radio stations on February this year. Here is the album review by Neil Spencer of the Guardian.co.uk which I totally agree.

The opening moments of this debut album by Canadian R&B singer Melanie Fiona bode well, thanks to a strong voice and the deployment of an infallible Zombies sample on lead single “Give it to Me Right”. The daughter of Guyanese parents, Fiona aims to combine her musical heritage with elements of soul and hip hop. Pity that she’s chosen all the most inoffensive bits. “Walk on By”, about putting an errant lover through hell, should sound like an Amy Winehouse face-slap but it’s more about yodelling prettily than venting anger. The Bridge is perfectly nice but it’s short on what it seems most nostalgic about: soul.

It’s worth a listen this album – a good effort. Download the first single Give It To Me Right and other 5 songs (including You Stop My Heart, Johnny and Bang Bang) from Melanie’s The Bridge album here .
