Dimanche 13 décembre nous sommes allés souper chez grand-papa Santo et grand-maman Jackye…

Je me suis bien amusée, j’ai aussi aidé mon petit frère à parler correctement… puis j’ai distribué des bisous!!!

Rachel Bilson chooses hipster pieces that outlast the hipster.

If the eighties conjure memories of cone bras and layered pearls, 2004 with Carrie Bradshaw, and 2005 with the Balenciaga Biker Bag, then the rise and establishment of the in-your-face hipster has certainly dictated the uniform of now for anyone who’s anyone.  But as trends do, this style profile too will soon begin a slow decent from its style apex, and when it does, you better believe that vestiges of the wayfarer will remain intact.

If vintage flannel, acid wash, and cuffed skinny jeans aren’t part of your daily plate, then I’m not sure you can breathe in the direction of lower Manhattan.  A look that isn’t built around a pair of faded Siwy cropped skinnies, is just not speaking my language, which is, of course, Brooklynese.  Whereas LA’s population knows they’re trying to be un-cool, which is kind of cool, the burgeoning east coast generation has become somewhat fraudulent—a cohort of non-conformists who in reality conform to the same non-conformist values but won’t admit it.  It’s a curious tendency really, but a look I’m willing to pirate for its sheer comfort and, well, awesomeness.

My partiality for ragged flannel began long ago, really.  It was the early nineties when a newfound jealousy for my older brother’s wardrobe turned me into a raging brat.  I wanted all those nerdy button downs, and I wanted them six sizes too big.  I even demanded their Nike high-tops.  What seemed like the path to sexual confusion lead to a much different conclusion—one which proved that Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan weren’t the only chicks radiating I-Don’t-Care-About-My-Appearance-But-I’m-Chill-Anyway chic-ness.

If only someone had told me back in the day, on the playground, that I had more potential than the publishing industry, I might have ignited the hipster trend myself.  Instead, I’ll just go on complaining until it’s no longer hip to be a hipster, in which case, I’ll deny my entire past.  Until then, here’s a few ways to get Rachel Bilson’s must have look in a capacity that will endure an imminent demise.

Bag, by Linea Pelle: Buttery leather, rich black hue, and gold hardware: the essential messenger that essentially completes the high-fashion rendition of the low-budget look.

Dom’s Groupie sur un clavier pas d’accents

Voilà la chanson que je chantais entre les contractions qui ont poussés mon bébé hors de moi. C’est de circonstance, non? Je l’écoute et j’ai envie de pleurer.

Ayoye. J’pensais jamais que ça arriverais aussi vite, mais mon vieux laptop Toshiba a rendu l’âme dimanche dernier d’une façon semi-tragique. Je naviguais tranquillement sur le net quand soudin, je viens pour ouvrir j’me souviens pus quel programe qui le fit planter. Mais pour cet ordi-là, planter, ça arrive plus que très souvent quoi que depuis son dernier formatage en mars, c’était moins pire. Comme d’habitude, j’ai paisé sur le p’tit piton pour le fermer crash et lorsque j’suis v’nue pour le redémarer, windows a démaré convenablement, mais oh ! Surprise pas très agréable, je ne peux plus cliquer sur aucun programe, même pas internet, même pas le paneau de configuration ! Yé ! En plus, j’ai une p’tite tabarnak d’info-bulle qui me dit que mon ordinateur est à risque d’attraper des virus mais what the fuck, j’ai scanné mon ordi pis y’en a même pas ! Moi un ordi j’peux pas formater ça toute seule et personne n’est capable dans mon entourage ! Bien sûr, moi tout le monde le sait, j’suis miss panique alors que pensez-vous que j’ai fais ? J’ai paniqué quelques instants pour absolument rien, car je me suis souvenu qu’il y’avait des ordis pas trop cher chez Futureshop ! Aaaaaaaah soulagement total !

C’est donc hier que j’ai fais l’acquisition d’un nouvel ordi portable mes p’tits amis d’amour ! Au début je voulais un Azus, mais ça a l’air qu’ils sont tous en anglais. Disons que je ne suis pas bonne du tout en anglais, alors un windows en anglais… non merci. Un autre ordi avait attiré mon attention, un HP, mais il était sous windows 7 et moi je ne peux pas l’utilisé encore. Alors là, le vendeur m’a conseillé un Acer. Je ne connaissais pas cette marque, mais ça a l’air que ça va ben, pis depuis que je l’utilise, oui il va ben en crisse.

En plus, joie, tout est installé jusqu’à la nouvelle version de msn. J’ai rien eu à faire sauf à arranger mon clavier qui, fouillez-moi pourquoi était AZERTY au lieu de QWERTY et d’installé jaws. Quelle joie !

Me reste plus qu’installer mon itunes et tout devrait être beau !
