Awesomeness!!! I uber love this video! It’s wicked! One of the best performances I’ve seen! Korn and Slipknot… It’s really nice to see the frontmen of 2 of the best metal bands on stage together.

The best part of the performance is from 3:04 to 3:30. Everyone was like up on his/her feet and headbangin’! Ahaha…so cooool! TOTALLY INSANE! Soooo fuckin’ awesome! And I love how the bass guitarist of Korn (Fieldy) plays in this vid….look at his moves…sweeeet…haha….yeahh! The part where Jonathan Davis beatboxes is also freakin’ awesome…he goes like…”Boom na da mmm dum na ema..da boom na da mmm dum na ema…GO!

Jonathan Davis (Korn) + Corey Taylor (Slipknot) = one awesome performance

Hmm…just wanna comment a little on Corey.

He certainly looks creepy with his mask on. →

But he’s really good-looking…I mean, without the mask. (see his pics below)

After months of having name after name thrown at us as Humanoid collaborators, we have answers (and,

After months of having name after name thrown at us as Humanoid collaborators, we have answers (and, in a couple of days, nineteen new songs)! We can’t know which of the rumored songwriters were just false and which just didn’t make the album, but here’s what’s going on in the credits of Humanoid (you can listen to a stream of the English album on Tokio Hotel’s Official Myspace, if it doesn’t freeze up your computer):

For the most part, the songs are the work of the original Tokio Hotel song/lyric writing team of the Kaulitz brothers (Tom co-wrote the music and Bill co-wrote lyrics on every track, as well as co-producing this album) with David Jost, Pat Benzer, and Dave Roth.

Of the many rumored high-profile songwriters, Guy Chambers turned out to be a great fit, collaborating on “World Behind My Wall”/”Lass Und Laufen” and “Pain of Love”/”Kampf Der Liebe.” High-profile songwriters nowhere to be seen so far: Diane Warren, Kara DioGuradi, Ryan Tedder, and Kevin Rudolf.

Although they made public mention of working on Humanoid, there is no mention of RedOne or Andreas Carlsson. Remember, not all of the tracks made the final cut.

Desmond Child did make it, with “Zoom Into Me”/”Zoom,” a lovely, stripped down piano-based song that is absolutely nothing like the bombastic Desmond Child anthem I was predicting – and I love it.

Martin Kierszenbaum, President of Cherrytree Records and Head of A&R of Interscope who sometimes contributes to his artists’ albums, co-wrote the lyrics to “Dogs Unleashed”/”Hunde.”

The Matrix, who were reported to have a large amount of input into the creation Humanoid, are credited in five tracks – three of them (“Human Connect To Human”/”Menschen Suchen Menschen,” “Hey You,” and “Love & Death”) on the US Standard album (only one made the standard everywhere else). Two of the Bonus tracks (US) – “That Day,” And “Screamin’” have The Matrix in the credits (all four bonus tracks are Matrix everywhere else).

And Finally – Jonathan Davis of Korn is, in fact, credited on the English-only bonus track “Screamin’” for both music and lyrics, along with The Matrix.

Three more tracks – the Hot Topic Bonus and the two itunes bonus songs (be sure to PREORDER your itunes album to get both of them!) to come!

Edited for accuracy – forgot the different tracklists on the US and International versions.

Which song is unknown, but he apparently worked with The Matrix. Interesting, as more than one fan has noted KoRn influence in at least one of the snippets.

I can’t tell if Metal Hammer is fascinated or pissed about this possible news. The commenters, though – mostly pissed. Hee hee!

“Evil is a point of view… God kills, and so shall we; indiscriminately He takes the rich

“Evil is a point of view… God kills, and so shall we; indiscriminately He takes the richest and the poorest, and so shall we; for no creatures under God are as we are, none so like Him as ourselves, dark angels not confined to the limits of hell but wandering His earth and all its kingdoms.”

Lestat, Interview with the Vampire.

Anne Rice

The teaser for the new album and video is here:

Finally the wait is over, the new album of the Nü Metal / Alt. Metal band Korn (one of my favorite bands EVER!) is coming up soon, the news are that they are on recording mode right now and are comming up with awesome material. Stuff that brings us to the very start of the band, albums like the self-titled Korn, Life is Peacy or Issues that brought the core of awesomeness that Korn still has.

I’m glad that they decided to return to their origins because the last 2 albums were a different than the Korn we are used to listen to, mainly because Head’s departure due to his religious revelation. I think, Head was an important part in the band’s songwriting proccess, he brought the heavy guitar riffs we listened to from Korn to the Take a Look Into the Mirror album (Y’all Want A Single… the true soul of a heavy stressed and pressured artist… one of the songs that saved my life back in 2003-2004)

All my hopes are on this album to return to the core tone of Korn’s brutal sound, and I also would recommend that they call Welch back, because if the 4 get together again…then…they WILL gain back their throne as Alt. Metal Kings.

July 2009 – New York, NY – Q-Tip announces Kamaal the Abstract will be released on September 15, 2009 – more than six years after the album’s original release date. Back in April 2002, Arista cancelled the release of Kamaal the Abstract and shelved the album due to what Arista executives described as a lack of commercial appeal. Since 2002, Q-Tip left Arista, signed with Universal Motown, and on November 4, 2008, Q-Tip released The Renaissance (Universal/Motown, 2008), an innovative album, which epitomizes the soul of the hip hop aesthetic. In 2009, after the success of his latest release, Q-Tip shifted his focus from The Renaissance back to another project, Kamaal the Abstract. Determined to push it along, Q-Tip brokered a deal with Arista/BMG, which re-established his ownership of and legal rights to Kamaal the Abstract. Then, Q-Tip negotiated with a lesser known label, Battery Records, who subsequently agreed to release Kamaal the Abstract; the album simultaneously assumes two seemingly paradoxical roles in Q-Tip’s career: (1) the [previously unreleased] precursor of The Renaissance (Universal/Motown, 2008), and (2) now the soon-to-be-released follow-up to The Renaissance (Universal/Motown, 2008).

Kamaal the Abstract Original Track Listings:
1. Feelin’
2. Do U Dig U?
3. A Million Times
4. Blue Girl
5. Barely In Love
6. Heels
I had fun rereading this one!

I wrote and published this crazy blog post more than three years ago in my Friendster blog. I just couldn’t believe how psychotic I can be when it comes to free-form writing, hahaha! But I’ve mellowed down through the years (I no longer write that way).

I hope you’ll have fun reading this as I had.

URBANITIES: A TWISTED VERSION OF A BIPOLAROID URBICULTURE.
Sa uacás…

The mist has risen.

Yo trabajo en un centro de llamada. La contabilidad que nosotros trabajámolos es sobre la seguridad de salud para los estadounidenses. Es por eso, tengo el privilegio a usar el sitio de web del dicho trabajo…

www.medcohealth.com

It has helped me a lot.

It vivisected my innermost thoughts, hidden desires, and unnoticed urges. For free. My uncontrollable and swinging misdemeanor, my hyperactivity, and to what I thought was my close brush with dementia quite a couple of times… all this I thought were just passing behavioral fancy (if there ever was a term).

At last (and at least), I now confirm that I ain’t one of you.

Society disdains people who don’t conform. Those who violate urbanities are sanctioned, punished. The most common is imprisonment. Those who have difficulty in conforming are secluded in thick-walled buildings, whose rooms are custom-built to contain the unthinkable and unspeakable rage and loathing and unfathomable dreams of the “distorted” psyche. These establishments are better known as (gulp!) mental health facilities. Locally, it’s more popularly known as mental hospitals. Or Elsie. Or Manda.

This revelation is not to confirm that I’ve gone totally crackers (“How do I love thee? Let me smash your face…” / Come live with me and be my X-ray fish). No. It’s just to confirm my state of liberation. The freedom from what’s chaining me to the stinkin’ ground. Yes, like that forgettable line in an old Bush (British grunge band of the late 90s) song, I’m now pissing on self-esteem. If I can’t have it, then I WON’T TAKE IT.

I’ve longed for psychiatric treatment eversince I realized that my peers have been calling me a weirdo, whether they meant it or not. But I couldn’t get any out of shame and because of my walletophobia. I’ve been yearning for Prozac (or its generic, Fluoxetine), but I don’t know where and how to get some (Jonathan Davis, help me).

I had to say this. I thought that my Catholicism would save me from my misanthropy and that kinda stuff — well, I know it can, and would, but due my mixed-up emotional and mental instability, I couldn’t wear it into my spiritual fiber. Christianity teaches that God helps those who are willing to stand up on their own. The problem is, I am uncertain of where, or more aptly, HOW, I stand. I was an atheist for more than two years, no thanks to my fragile curiosity. I know how sorry and putrefied that ideology is. It isn’t even an ideology — it’s downright arrogant stupidity, and stupid arrogance.

I tried to socialize, but I felt alienated. At least now, I have come to the realization that socializing, the urbane way, is just a mere pushpin. Yeah, that’s what all it is. If you disagree, then you’re a lying crappy li’l cretin. That’s what we all are in this world.

Going back to my dilemma. My pusillanimity in relation to maintaining good social relations took its toll on the relationship itself. I was able to create friendships, though they’re quite a few (I’m the complete opposite of my wifey), but lotsa puzzled looks. The “weirdo” tag has been like a signpost sticking on top of my cranium since I was in the 3rd grade.

But y’know what? Come to think of it, I kinda liked.

However, eccentric behavior came to a halt when, quite abruptly, I started raising a family that was never planned. But everything turned out not to be OK, but great! Havin’ a family is perhaps the greatest thing to have ever happened to me, counting all the hardships and trials. All that shit is worth it whenever I look into the happy and contented eyes of my wife, daughter, and son.

But still lingering within the recesses of my cerebral cortex is that fuckin’ itch that never puts my soul to rest. It keeps me wide awake at night — well, that was when I was still on a day job — and restless in my endeavors. For the past two years, for two damn years, I’ve been sterile in my craft. Until a few days ago, when some chuckling witch forced me outta my shell once more… rainy days are here again. Ellipsis, ellipsis, fuckin’ ellipsis.

The Muse beckons not daily, not weekly, not a fuckin’ regular status, but even rarely. I never had a “disturbance” for quite some shitty time. In fact, I even tried to forget the whole idea, thinking it’s all but frivolity and a waste of time, especially that I’m a family man now. I regarded it but a big joke. Writing is a big joke. And the joke’s on those who read them. The writer gets the last laugh.

The Muse took animal form. For the first time, this Muse of poetic fame became tangible right before my very eyes. The Muse rebuked me for not feeding my emaciated ego. So there she was, with whip in hand, ready to punish me for my frigidity.

It took a couple of days before it dawned upon me that I am, at 26 years of age, getting old for all the crap that what I’ve been trying to pretend is me. So one crisp morning, while I was walking home from work, looking for a bus which will take me to San Pedro, La Laguna, I contemplated on my “private future”. I walked, my gait guided by a built-in CDman inside my head, playin’ my fave tunes. Every soul I bump upon in crowded Mutinlupà Market a faceless gargoyle on the attack, the bag on my hand carrying my “baon” my shabby scabbard sword. Conan the Barbarian I’m not, but I’m a listless warrior in my own right. Under the Alabang viaduct, I walk in the middle of the asphalt road; each bus on either side and in front of me, are horrid but lazy, easy-to-slice-like-quickmelt-cheese monsters awaiting my final strike (i.e., when I come aboard their “bellies” to take a seat where I continue to smirk at the faceless throng and their search for subsistence).

In the bus, I asked myself, “What in the name of motherfuck am I doin’ here?!” Like that “creepy” song that still enjoys airtime in alam-mo-na-’yan/i-memorize yan. radio stations being enjoyed by sun-and-soot baked bus/jeepney drivers, I whisper to myself: what the hell am I doing here? I don’t belong here…

I’ve got kids, and a lovely, caring wife. A happy house. A god-fearing home. But they are not me. They are a part of me, but they still do not reflect who I really am, and vice-versa. There’s another part of me, a very charitable one, one who wishes nothing but to nourish a very hungry and thirsty ego. There’s a side of me who calls for unity, eager to negotiate with a demanding id. And there’s a sicker side of myself who wishes to outwit a being whom he regards as a dimwit, an inutile being (actually, with no offense to my spiritual conscience, it really is) — jolly ol’ super-ass-life-ego.

Reality check. Back to medco.com. How did it help? It’s just a website. That’s all it is, churning out prescription benefits as well as interesting health info. I always access it at work. Not only did it aid me during my calls, but it helped me a lot in analyzing my mentality. I was able to verify and confirm stuff that were just hunches before. Now that I’ve confirmed some disorders, there are reasons for my fears after all. Mission accomplished. Hurrah.

Kidding aside, I think I should commence another chapter in my uninteresting, Beavis N’ Butthead life, such as: how deal with — and self-treat my bipolar disorder, ADHD, hyperthyroidism, social phobia, hemophobia, and other cute stuff (my bestfriend in Dubai, weirdonextdoor — do visit her FRIENDSTER, she’s on my account, her name’s Rachel Nazaret, and she needs psychohelp too ever since another pal of mine, Mike Lim {don’t visit his FRIENDSTER} fooled her for some slut somewhere in the Metro — said if you don’t know what it’s called, or if you don’t want to name it, call it STUFF). Treatment shall be done in this, whazzit called? blog?, for all you urbanites to chow down. And for y’all to realize how charitable I am in feeding my ego for free (say what?!@*)

Also, I’d like to stress that I now change the definition of urbanity in my turf. I hate those things that are urban. I feel it takes away something that what ee cummings used to perceive as civility. To those who have the quality of an urbanite, I say bullshit to it! I know it did cause me to have all this mental, uh, STUFF that prompted me into writing this.

Henceforth, urbanity here shall be regarded like this: it’s about people like me… and peeps like you. Yep. Like you, oh tired, sleepless one… come with me, take my hand, and let’s have a walk down the asphalt road of dark urbanities…

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

NOTE: I copied the above post from my Friendster blog because I have many things to do today. I don’t have much time to write something new. =(

About to meet Jonathan Davis, last damn picture on the camera!

?

Finished my household tasks between many naps today, it’s quite unsettling to be frank I’ve had a total of 13 hours sleep in the past 24 hours. Now that may sound good but it’s not the best thing staying awake all night and taking a million naps during the day, the cats happy with the nap companion and i can forget her pooping in the bath but i know it’s not healthy. How many time’s can i refresh my email and watch the E! channel? I know the ins and outs of Hollywood now and i have an extensive knowledge of what went wrong with brad and Jen. I need a hobby that doesn’t involve a wine bottle, a laptop and a remote control (sounds a bit seedy that doesn’t it?). I have read every book, watched every DVD and i feel like I’ve watched every video on youtube.

I need a new list, i want to tick something.

Things i wish I’d known when i was 15…..

- School is not so bad, it really IS a good idea to keep your head down and do some work no matter how lame it sounds coming from older people.

-At no point should i cover my midriff in tattoos.

-Drugs/smoking/excessive alcohol consumption are not a good road to go down.

-My parent’s are human beings.

-Going to college is a good idea.

-Extra large korn hoodies are not a good idea.

-Never cut your own hair.

-Never go out with a man who doesn’t make you smile EVERY day.

-DO NOT go on holiday with said man for your 21st birthday.

-Spend more time with your family.

-You’re not going to be young forever.

Jonathan Davis was arguably UCF’s best commit of the 2009 class and was projected to help the Knights immediately as a linebacker or safety. However, after an unforeseen injury this offseason, Davis’ services will be required at running back, where he flourished in high school. Will Davis stick at running back?

Last week I had the pleasure of interviewing Infected Mushroom at the video shoot at the Roxy for their new video, “Smashing the Opponent” featuring the vocals of Jonathan Davis of Korn. All five guys were in the room but Duvdev (Amit Duvudevani) did almost all of the talking; they were all really nice and amiable and were doing one interview after another with nary a hint of exhaustion.

Infected Mushroom’s new album, Legend of the Black Shawarma, drops September 9 on Oakenfold’s label Perfecto, and the boys will be at the Electric Daisy Carnival this weekend along with me and 100,000 other dancing freaks.

Here you go:

DF5K: You guys are LA-based, and there are a thousand locations in this city- why film your video at the Roxy?

IM: Well first of all, all the videos of Infected Mushroom (which is one, by the way) were shot in Canada, we never shot a video in the United States. We live in LA, the Roxy’s pretty close to our house, a landmark, and many people have been here, many bands have played, and it is just a cool place to shoot a video.

DF5K: A lot of people are talking about the West Coast and specifically LA as the new epicenter of electronic music in the United States, that things are shifting from the East Coast to the West. Do you guys think this is true and if so, where do you see your band in the West Coast Future Sound Movement?

IM: I think that Infected Mushroom is kind of a different breed in the electronic music, we have so much emphasis on heavy metal and rock, so we are not considered any more so electronic. But we are an electronic band, we mix trance with heavy metal. I don’t know how we fit in the East Coast/West Coast thing. We like LA, we live over here, we like the weather. Fuck the East Coast and uh, fuck Baltimore by the way, and especially fuck Baltimore, and yeah- we kind of like it over here.

DF5K: Me too, me too! So the new album coming out, Legend of the Black Shawarma: how is it different? How is it fresh? What is new for you guys?

IM: First of all, you know the guests on the album, Jonathan Davis of course the lead singer of Korn is in the video clip we are shooting today; Perry Farrell from Jane’s Addiction, Paul Oakenfold working with us on the album. Me and Erez we took a bit different approach on this album, bringing people that are not familiar with our kind of style; actually they were but nevermind. So you know they come from different genres and we put them on the album. We wanted to do it actually with Vicious Delicious two years ago and didn’t have the chance; now we have the time, they have the time and we are happy that it came out.

DF5K: How is it working with Paul Oakenfold, the greatest legend ever and shit?

IM: It is really great, you know Paul helped us a lot in many directions even in electronic music we didn’t know. Me and Erez have been doing this for so many years but Paul took it to a much higher level, especially here in the States. He met us with so many people and so many things, and so it actually, it was great.

DF5K: You guys are in the middle of a tour. Where do you go next?

IM: We’re doing Russia, Moscow this weekend then we are coming back again to the United States doing Salt Lake City and EDC here in LA downtown, a great party and yeah actually July, a little bit of the States and then going to Europe again.

DF5K: How do you see the crowds and community, how is it different in Europe as opposed to here?

IM: I think that the rave scene here now in the States got a new fresh crowd, a different crowd than used to be before. In Europe, they’ve been seeing raves for twenty years, you know. For me and Erez, we feel much more excited playing here in the U.S. because the crowds are much more into it.

“Especially Baltimore!” interjects one of the other band members.

(Duvdev continues) Fuck Baltimore! Actually Baltimore is wonderful, the best spot…

“Suddenly Baltimore is on the page again!”

(Duvdev continues) By the way, fuck Baltimore.

DF5K: Especially!

IM: But anyway yeah the crowds in the United States are really appreciative, they go mental at the shows and me and Erez, we kind of like it for the moment over here.

DF5K: I saw you guys in Seattle last year and I noticed the crowd was younger and lots of females too, a big female draw…

IM: Good times, good times!

DF5K: You don’t often see that for techno shows and other genres of EDM.

IM: Good times, by the way! Especially in Baltimore! No- there are no girls in Baltimore.

DF5K: If you bring the girls, the boys will follow. Right on. So where are you most excited about going for your next show?

IM: Moscow is really exciting, always good shows over there; back to the States EDC is one of the biggest, here in downtown, we look forward to that.

DF5K: Are you guys playing on Friday or Saturday?

IM: Saturday, and we are looking forward to that because we did two EDCs already, a huge show, great reaction. Looking forward to Salt Lake City, one day before ON the Salt Lake, last time was a great show- mucho mucho mucho girls. We like Salt Lake City. Utah! And fuck Baltimore.

DF5K: So who is inspiring you guys, what music do you listen to all the time, right now: who are you really digging?

IM: You know me and Erez we listen to everything, from electronic, heavy metal, radio, hip hop, whatever comes along. We like Depeche Mode, everything. This album is influenced by so many bands.

DF5K: Are there any particular LA artists you like?

IM: Actually, I don’t know. I like Incubus lately. I didn’t before but I do now.

DF5K: What do you guys think about dubstep? It’s blowing up here in LA and all over.

IM: I have heard of them but I didn’t hear their music.

DF5K: It’s a new genre, real bass heavy and whompy and underground.

IM: I have heard the name but not the music yet so I don’t know.

DF5K: Awesome. So are you gonna be here all day shooting the video? How long does it take?

IM: We are here for the morning and we have some night scenes to shoot, basically you are coming to a club and it has to be night.

DF5K: Yeah I was confused walking up here in daylight hours, like ‘Where is the Roxy?’ It’s daylight and I didn’t recognize anything!

IM: Yeah so we are doing the shoot now and it is gonna go all through the night.

DF5K: Are you pretty involved in the design of the video?

IM: Well we came up with the script and then we leave it to the guys who know what they’re doing; we do the music and hopefully it will come as we envision it.

DF5K: Do you go out a lot in LA to hear music?

IM: Actually no because we do three to four shows a week, then we come and we have our families, babies, and to produce and stuff, so actually I don’t go out so much. We are in clubs anyway. Yesterday the Lakers won…

DF5K: Did you riot? Throw a trash can on a cop car?

IM: I went rioting, I had a beer.

DF5K: Run down the interstate?

IM: I went crazy, yeah.

DF5K: Do you think you’ll stay in LA for a while?

IM: I know we’re feeling pretty cool now over here, we have homes over here, good times, quiet times, and for now we are here.

DF5K: What about Baltimore?

IM: Fuck Baltimore!

I headed up to the Roxy in West Hollywood on Monday to interview Israeli psytrancers Infected Mushro

I headed up to the Roxy in West Hollywood on Monday to interview Israeli psytrancers Infected Mushroom and wound up being in their next video and had a nice chit-chaterooni with Paul Oakendfuckingfold as well. He was a really nice guy, despite tales I had heard to the contrary. Of course, I am blond and don’t really let people not be my friend.

I will write up the interview shortly but for now I just wanted to tell you about the video shoot for their new single, “Smashing the Opponent,” featuring the vocals of Korn’s Jonathan Davis. The track is off Infected Mushroom’s upcoming album, Legend of the Black Shawarma, which is due out September 8th on Oakenfold’s label Perfecto.

I am not the biggest psytrance fan in the history of the universe, but I was feeling the track and dancing in my heels as it boomed from the Roxy’s sound system, the ribbons of bassline flowing smooth like champagne under Davis’ raw and burning vocals. Most of the people there for the shoot had no idea who anyone was at all. One chick asked me, “Are these guys famous? I hope so.” Ahhhhlalalala, LA.

The champagne was actually flowing like rocket fountains all over me and about twenty other “dance club” chicks; after my interview I was hanging around watching the video shoot and then just jumped in with the other ladies who had been instructed to go “crazy on the dance floor” for one of the scenes. Crazy on the dance floor? I can do that. I am constantly surprised with what you can get away with if you just do it, if you just ask the question, if you just walk through that door. You should definitely try it sometime.

The “Smashing the Opponent” video basically makes fun of the club scene and DJs and stupid chicks; the star of the shoot is this mophead DJ with a fat grill and pimpy white suit over a shiny shirt. He is constantly surrounded by girls going nutty, he drinks espresso at the DJ booth and never even touches his records- he has two hot-chick assistants who put them on and spin them for him while he dances and poses. They help him take off his coat, and then his pants- revealing emerald-green paisley bikini briefs. Funny shit; I mean if we can’t make fun of ourselves, then who will?

After having “champagne” (really apple cider) sprayed all over me from eight directions while I thrashed about like a wild woman in the middle of a group of girls I split the scene; the filming was to last another six hours and I didn’t really care to be in big part of the video, I just like having the experience! And bragging about it, of course.

So stay tuned on MTV (Do they even show videos anymore? Does anyone out there still watch MTV?) for the video and you know I will be posting it here as well. And I will be getting around to writing up that interview shortly, although I will say this: Infected Mushroom LOVES the West Coast!

But then again, who doesn’t?

Here’s some fuzzy shots for you of the video shoot featuring our superstar DJ and his hottie bodyguards:
