If you read what I’ve written up until now, you probably dismiss me as something of a crackpot

If you read what I’ve written up until now, you probably dismiss me as something of a crackpot and I probably would dismiss what I’ve said too.

I’ve written about Satan and the effect that I believe he has on many things in daily life and significant events; however there’s of course a flaw in my theory; where’s God in all of this?

Well He is where He always is; He’s up in Heaven watching. Satan doesn’t do anything beyond what God lets him do. God lets him do all sorts of things however, Satan runs this world because God said so.

So…lets take a look at this.

In my own case, I was a Christian and found it extremely odd that I could have this torment that I was experiencing at the same time. Satan had a strategy with me; he pretended he was God.

…and God let him.

How can that happen?

Well, we make a lot of assumptions about God. We believe that God has some sort of duty or obligation to take care of us on this earth. He doesn’t HAVE to though, and that’s the point.

God is concerned about Souls in Heaven; earth could be a great place if you are blessed by God, however that is simply an option and not anything that God is required to do. He more than willing to let people suffer on earth and call it a test for Heaven. God requires that He be first, if He’s not He will eventually (or in my case not eventually at all) force you into a decision.

God or the world? Take your pick…

I was told by a voice, a voice I was under the assumption was God, to give my 2 children away. 2 kids that I had custody of and had raised myself for years. And you know what? I did it. I gave them to their mom, because a voice told me to.

Now I don’t have to define for anyone how sick that is; but when you believe it’s the Holy Spirit prompting you to do something and you don’t do it, things get rather intense.

Later, after this was all done, my pet voice told me some other things and those things wound up not being the truth. Then based on a verse in Hebrews stating that it is impossible for God to lie, I realized that I was dealing with something completely different than what I thought I was. It was either my own psychosis or it was Satan.

That did nothing to solve the problem though; I had signed away custody of my own children. This is where Christianity gets turned into a weapon. Jesus said if someone asks you for your coat, to give it to them. Jesus told the Rich Young Ruler to give away everything he owned…or else!

What if someone came to your door and asked you for your house?

What if someone came to your door and asked you for your kids?

I’ll tell you, in my case, I never got my kids back. God never cared what happened to me. He could have, but He isn’t required to. He isn’t required to prevent it, and isn’t required to give you something or someone back to replace what’s gone. It’s His option, and His alone.

Shame on me for being so gullible, and I won’t argue that. Christianity messes with people’s minds though in how extreme it capably can be, and also the madness of realizing that Satan actually reports to God. Here’s some examples:

Satan walks up to God and tells Him basically that Job only cares about God because Job’s been blessed. God could truly care about Job’s life and tell Satan “No” and to go away; however instead God takes the possibility seriously and tells Satan that he can do all sorts of nasty things to Job; but he can’t kill him.

So that’s what happens. Job loses riches, loses cattle, actually LOSES HIS CHILDREN all under this dare that Job will stay faithful to God through this suffering.

Then, when Job basically tells God “this sucks”, God goes on pretty much of a rampage. Tells Job everything that He has done and is capable of, and to paraphrase He pretty much tells Job that “I’m God, I can do anything I want…too bad. “

Job passes the test, doesn’t curse God and gets double of everything back. Well, not really everything. Kids aren’t like weebles, you don’t replace one with another one. His kids that died, died. When it was the birthday of one of Job’s kids, I’m sure he still grieved even though he had new kids. So yes, God did take Job’s kids from him and they didn’t come back.

Notice something else in the story of Job though. God told Satan what he could do, and WHAT HE COULDN’T DO. Satan couldn’t say F*** you God, I’m going to kill him anyways. When God set a limit, it was followed. Satan reports to God, there’s no other way to reason that point…I mean what if Satan defied God; if you were Satan wouldn’t you say something to the effect of “Or what, you’re going to throw me in Hell?” Notice, he didn’t say that at all.

Now the notion of God treating people with respect and fairness. One of the ways in which people seem geniunely befuddled about God is in the notion of not being able to comprehend John 3:16 vs. Romans 9:13.

John 3:16 is “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 9:13 says that Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.

Athiests just love this stuff, because God is a hypocrite, right?

Well no it’s actually pretty simple. God promises everyone the chance at eternity. Choose Jesus, choose Salvation; keep God first in your heart, love your neighbor as yourself and you go to Heaven.

No exceptions. Pharoah, Judas, every person that ever has or ever will live gets that same promise of Jesus and eternal life. No one is damned to Hell, it’s punishment for not choosing God and everyone has the option.

And yes, I know all about the elect and the elect is a SPIRIT that will not let those imbued stray from God or the truth. It’s like winning the lottery, virtually no one has that spirit, for the rest of us it’s our own free will, it’s the equivalent of having an angel inside of you that won’t let you wander too far from God. To those people, they get the full actual truth. Heaven matters, life doesn’t. Period, the end.

The rest of us have to choose that, with help maybe but we don’t have the angel that won’t let us walk away. How many people are the elect? Well let’s see, once upon a time God killed off everyone on earth except Noah and his family, so obviously there weren’t very many elect walking around back then. Plus, if this was all pre-ordained why would God be mad at people? It’s His own fault for Him not putting more elect on earth. Right? No, man has free will for the most part…

So Salvation, meaning Jesus Christ and Heaven, is a viable promise that applies to everyone as representative of God’s love.

So how could God hate?

He hates behaviors as all of us already know, He hates people by mistreating them on EARTH.

How did God hate Esau? He told Rebekkah before either Jacob or Esau was born that Esau would serve Jacob. Against custom. Against the rules of the land.

He did not say Esau couldn’t be saved. He did not say Esau wouldn’t be blessed even, but Jacob was getting something Esau was entitled to. God was abusing Esau, he was mistreating him intentionally, He was hating Esau. He doesn’t say “so what”, He comes right out and says “I hate you”. On earth…

Jacob flat out lies to his father to get Esau’s birthright, God looks the other way. God’s will came to pass through Jacob breaking one of God’s commandments. At Esau’s expense.

Then afterwards, God sends an angel to wrestle with Jacob and clean him up of his deceitful nature; but God doesn’t give Esau the birthright, does He? Jacob keeps it, God’s will came from sin. That’s how Esau was hated, God’s basically being enough of a man to acknowledge that and also to warn everyone in Romans 9 that He does have the capability to allow people to be mistreated on earth for His own purposes. Now of course God doesn’t tempt sin, so who did? Ding ding, Satan did. Satan works for God.

Now let’s look at Jesus and Judas. Do you think Satan understands what Jesus purpose on earth is? Of course! So why does Satan enter Judas to have him betray Jesus? Isn’t that sort of a stupid thing for Satan to do?

Why doesn’t Satan jump into Judas, have him run a thousand miles in the other direction and then drown him in a lake? Anything to keep scripture from being fulfilled.

No that’s not his strategy, because there doesn’t seem to be any option. What if Judas said no to betraying Jesus? What if Pilate said no? Would God have just shrugged and said “Oh well, maybe later”. It’s obvious that this had to happen, and if anything Satan’s only real effort came in trying to stop Jesus from actually pulling it off.

Satan reports to God…he does what God lets him do.

Today, I was reminded of a few experiences I had about Jesus. They were within the last 15 years.

Today, I was reminded of a few experiences I had about Jesus. They were within the last 15 years.

1) I was new to USA and had no idea or concept about Good Friday. I was deep in meditation and I had a very clear and concise vision of Jesus. Later that day, while driving I heard on the radio, it was Good Friday

2) The love of Jesus is beyond comprehension. I was deep in Samadhi and saw the first encounter of Jesus with Judas. What is not known is that even on the day Jesus saw Judas, he knew that Judas would betray him. However, the love of Jesus was so intense that love became objectified – it was no longer an abstract or emotional feeling but had become a solid reality even in the gross physical world. I remain immersed in that environment till my Samadhi was broken. For the following few weeks, any thought of Jesus brought intense tears to my eyes! I can say with certainty that Jesus was an avatar of Love!

The places where Jesus roams still vibrate with the divine love. However, it is so amazing that inspite of all the love in those areas, it remains a source of many a violent conflict right now! One can only imagine how violent a place it would be if Jesus had not roamed those areas and had not left the vibrations of love there. If only the people living there could turn within and feel that love, all violence in the area would cease.

Jesus forgave all those who crucified him. However for Judas, his words were, “It would have been better for mankind if he was never born” A warning for all those who betray! It is not a sin that is looked upon lightly by God. As per Yogananda, Judas finally achieved salvation 800 or so years later. He was born again in India and was in Orissa near Jagannath Puri. Even in that birth, Judas continued to have a strong love for money. It had to be overcome before final salvation came to him.

According to Yogananda, during the missing 15 years (duration?) of his life, Jesus was in India. There is a picture of him on the walls of Jaggnath Puri.

3) I have in the past mentioned my other encounter about Jesus. However, I will recapture it here. I had a fairly long and unbroken experience of his love. He appeared before me but his feet never touched the ground. His love and the light on his face and my own unworthiness (more on this later) made it impossible for me to see anything but his feet. He started telling me a story where he guided a lost girl from danger. She happened to be a Jewish girl who was lost and in danger. She prayed ardently to God (her concept of the Jewish God, not Jesus). Jesus told me how he affectionately guided her and got her out of danger. I was perplexed a little.

I asked, “But she did not pray to you!”

His answer, “Did she not pray to God?” Then he transmitted without words the immense understanding, that no matter how someone prays to God, it makes no difference to him, he will help and answer. This is very similar to what is said in the Gita, “Oh Arjuna, no matter how someone prays to me, in any form, I accept his prayer and answer him”

My second question, “Why are there so many sects in Christianity?”

His answer, “Do they not all pray to God?” Once again, without any exchange of words, he subsequently said, “I permit all faiths to exist because they all lead to me” Once again, this is very reminiscent of the Gita.

My last question was, “When will I be pure, like you?” Obviously, the time was not ripe and he disappeared with that question! The level of purity Jesus had took several births. As per Yogananda, in his previous birth or life, Jesus had already reached perfection as Elijah! Even in that birth, when it was time to depart, he had taken “akash Samadhi”, his body was seen to rise in the skies in a blaze!

4)I have had other minor visions of Jesus but none as profound as the above.

This is all I can remember now. Perhaps, more will come to me in the future. These are all experiences in the remote past, burried now by many more current experiences.

Best friends are like diamonds, precious and rare False friends are like leaves, found everywhere.

Best friends are like diamonds, precious and rare
False friends are like leaves, found everywhere.

                                                    Anonymous

Recently I attended a meeting with a group of inspiring, intelligent and amusing women. We had lots of fun, and I left thinking they were the type of people I would like to get to know better, and perhaps one day they would become real friends. I went onto meet another friend at a cafe for lunch, only to look up to see the same bunch of women from the meeting having lunch together.

Childishly, I felt my stomach tighten and an overwhelming need overtook me to fold myself up and slide under the table to hide. I was again the awkward twelve-year-old girl starting high school amongst strangers who stood giggling in huddled groups while I stood alone. I was the new girl, sniggered at, and not included.

Once upon a time making new friends felt like gathering pretty shells along the sea-shore. There were a multitude to choose from, in all shapes, sizes, colours and textures. You could hear the ocean when you put one to your ear, others brightened your world with their rich earthy colours, and there were those rare few from the ocean’s depths shaped just right to give you a good belly-laugh every time. Our friends widen our outlook and bring new worlds to our doorsteps.

These days I find my beaches much emptier and the search for true friendship much lonelier. It is easy to be surrounded by smiling faces and companionship, but there are invisible walls between us, busy lives and careers to pursue, children to chase and scold, and a lot of fear and apprehension at letting our hearts be seen.

Thankfully, I have a handful of people I refer to as my ‘drop everything’ friends. When a crisis hits we literally ‘drop everything’ for each other. There is no guilt, fear or embarrassment in asking for help. These friends are there for me, and I am there for them.

Yesterday I had a pedicure with such a friend and our time together having our feet massaged in perfumed oil, sinking into cushioned massage chairs, glasses of champagne in hand, was like gold. These physical luxuries were nothing compared to our lively conversation. There is never any doubt that my friend wants to hear about my life, and I love hearing about hers. There is an equality to the exchange, giving and taking, laughing and crying, or sitting together, relaxing and feeling connected without the need for words.

It is painful to lose a true friend. I had a friend once who was in the ‘drop everything’ category. We spent lots of time together for a number of years – weekends in the country, evenings in Double Bay watching the rich people while eating mudcake and sipping coffee, and many nights sitting up until the small hours discussing our hopes and dreams. She was like a sister to me.

However, when I got engaged and the wedding loomed closer, I felt a shift in her attitude toward me. I tried to ignore my instinct. A week before my wedding I checked my answering machine one evening and heard a very strange message. My friend had accidentally recorded herself on my answering machine, speaking on her mobile phone about me to a friend. Her words were venomous, cruel and dishonest. I kept thinking she must be talking about somebody else, but then she mentioned my partner’s name and I knew that it was me. I cried every night that week, leading up to the happiest day of my life.

She smiled at me sweetly and said kind words to me on my wedding day, and I smiled back through clenched teeth, holding in my hurt and anger. After our honeymoon I wrote her a letter telling her what I had heard. Even then, I would have accepted an apology or an explanation. I hung onto hope. Her reply finally came but was one line. She was guilty as accused and she said goodbye. That was it.

I am grateful for that bizarre twist of fate, or as I believe, divine intervention, which revealed her heart to me. As sad as it was, it would have been much sadder to maintain such a dishonest friendship.

In the Gospels I read that Jesus had twelve best mates who he walked through life with. He had gathered a rare assortment of shells from the beach, as each of his disciples had unique personalities and related to him in different ways. Yet out of this group of true friends, Peter, who boldly professed his love for Jesus and said he would die for him, went on to deny even knowing him three times to a servant girl. Then there was Judas who betrayed Jesus with a kiss leading to his death, for the price of some bags of silver. Being hurt and disappointed by our friends certainly isn’t a new concept.

When I’m deeply hurt it takes a long time to recover, but I’m learning that the only way back to wholeness is to forgive, let it go and walk away. I embrace the richness of my true friendships and cherish them as one of life’s greatest gifts. I also continue to search the seashore for any shells hidden in the sand. You can never tell how colourful and unique they are until you take the risk and reach out your hand.

I would love to meet Jesus. Seriously… does a man like that exist? A believer, a true person, a committed man, kind, philanthropic, loving and giving, fair, caring and the son of the most powerful man in the world. Plus: he can do magic! What more can you ask from a man? Oh! He has to be good-looking, sexy, with a peculiar style that no one else has, have a lot of other men wanting to be like him and gorgeous women chasing him too. You’ve got it!

Does your life lack emotion? Well, Jesus has someone trying to kill him, which made him the most famous renegade in history. He is the leading figure on thousands of films and books; he is the only man that ever resuscitated from death; he is not afraid of wearing skirts; you can hit him all you want and he’ll just turn the other cheek so that you can hit him some more; he made it possible to people all over the world not to work on his birthday and his “deathday”, to celebrate holy conception, birth, the art of giving gifts (which he started…), judgment, passion, crucifixion, death, burials. So, the man does know how to throw a party.

He can predict the future (he guessed Judas would betray him, didn’t he?). With bread and water he can make a great dinner party, so great in fact that people still talk about it, write about it, make films about it and paint the scene all over and over again, so that everyone can have a reproduction on their wall. He made other people famous, like Virgin Mary, the Three Wise Men, Judas and the Twelve Apostles, Mary Magdalene, Leonardo Da Vinci, Robert Graves, Mikhail Bulgakov, Fernando Sánchez Dragó, Dan Brown, more than two hundred and sixty popes, some priests, and most recently, José Saramago. Who knows what he could do for you?

The most read and printed book in history only sells because of him. The man is so important that someone tried to register his name as a brand! And what is it about his name that every men and women scream it out loud in bed!? “Jesus Christ!” may mean pain, surprise, happiness, fear or anger and it has suffered some alterations, like, for example, “Jesus F****** Christ!”. If he was not chaste, as some orthodox churches insist, I would travel back in time and most definitely try to marry him.

I love Postsecret. Part of my weekly ritual is to stop off and catch up on the week’s updates.

I love Postsecret.

Part of my weekly ritual is to stop off and catch up on the week’s updates. It is a good past time.

Every once in a while I find a card that I think about for a few days, maybe weeks. But there has only ever been one that I have grabbed and saved.

It is this one:

It is easy and simple. Most of all, it is true. Spending a lot of time learning about history, especially church history, gets you to thinking about who you would have been in the Story.

No one says Jesus.

Sometimes I think I would be Peter.

Sometimes I think I would be more like Luke or Barnabas.

But I need to realize sometimes that though I might share some qualities with those other guys, at heart I am Judas. I can be sneaky, manipulative, shifty and lie. And oh what wouldn’t I do for a little bit more money right now?

These are just some thoughts for the day…

¿Qué errores llevaron a Judas a traicionar a Cristo?

¿Has cometido algún error que te atormenta?

The bar was quiet, the three men sat there drinking talking about their problems. Judas suddenly looks at Jesus, “Hey brother, me and Cassius here might have a solution for you.”

“A solution to what?” Jesus Responds.

“Well I know you want to start a new life with Mary, especially now that Peter is pretty much running the congregation. We both know that pretty soon the Romans will find you, and probably kill everyone with you, know what I mean?”

Jesus nodded, Judas knew that Mary was pregnant with his child and that they were afraid that her and the baby might be killed if they were ever betrayed.

“Look brother, I have leprosy, and I don’t feel pain. Cassius is a member of the elite Roman guard – though he would never betray us, and I feel I can trust him.”

Jesus looked shocked, then sickened, he understood what his friend was trying to say.

“Absolutely not, I will not do this, I will not allow you to die so that I can get away.”

“Look you stupid bastard,” interjects Cassius, ”You know and I know that they are not going to stop until they get you and anyone else that might be related to you. We also know that eventually someone in the group is going to betray you; there isn’t any way around it. Frankly, if you don’t do something soon, Peter might – Yes I know he loves you and is loyal, but he really loves being the leader of the church if you know what I mean. I love you like a brother man, and I know that this sounds horrible, but to protect your woman and child, take this chance.”

He looked at them both, ruffled and shocked, then suddenly with tears rolling down his eyes says, “Thank you Judas, I don’t know what to say.”

Judas laughs, “Just make sure you and Mary get away.”

That afternoon Cassius and Jesus go to the local magistrate, and convince him that they know where Jesus was, and where to find him. “Look you want to find that crazy bastard that stirring up the Jews or not?” Cassius demanded. “Well then, be here with some men tomorrow afternoon and we can catch this guy.” The magistrate turns to Jesus, “Ok, if you are telling the truth, I will deliver to you 30 pieces of silver after we capture the heretic.”

That night Jesus brings everyone together. “Ok tonight I honor Judas, he is my greatest disciple!” Everyone except Peter claps, he has always felt that Judas was a prick, and he couldn’t stand him. Then Jesus turns a somber eye to his associates, “Someday I might be caught by the Romans, and if I am, I will not stand for any of you to witness it.” He scans the room, and adds “No one, friends family, anyone should witness this, understood?” They all nodded at that, and Jesus smiled, toasted Judas one more time, and said his good nights.

Jesus, Cassius and Judas meet in the street, near the Magistrates office. They look at each other with somber eyes, Jesus looks at Judas and says “Bless you my brother, suffer not this on your soul, and go straight to heaven and rejoice.” Jesus and Cassius turn and leave.

Cassius leaves Jesus at the door, “I have to meet my team we will be the ones arresting Jesus when the time comes.” Jesus nods his head and walks into the office. The magistrate is very happy to see him, “Welcome Judas! I was worried you wouldn’t make it. Shall we go?”

Jesus nods his head, not trusting himself to speak. They walk out and down the street, with the centurions marching in cadence behind them. They walk in silence, Jesus and the Magistrate, when suddenly Judas comes walking out of the bar where all this started. Jesus tugs the Magistrates shirt sleeve, and points at Judas: “There he is, that is Jesus right there!” Judas starts running away and the Centurions easily catch him.

The Magistrate laughs, “So this is the Son of God, pretty damn easy to catch if you ask me!” They put a crown of thorns on his head, and tie him to a cross. “Whip him if he tries to get away, and take him to the carrion fields.”

Cassius nods then kicks Judas knocking him over, “Get moving you scum!” and whips him. Jesus swallows hard seeing this abuse, but he swore to himself he would watch this to the bitter end, he would know the sacrifice that his best friend was making. As they start moving down the street, people start gathering on street corners and throw rotted food and rocks at Judas. Every time he flinches, he would get a whip across his back. Rocks battered Judas, but he kept walking.

After what seems forever to Jesus, they arrive at the carrion fields, where the crucifixions took place. Jesus watches as Judas has nails driven through his wrists and ankles. Watches as they prop the cross up and suffers in agony. Cassius looks at Jesus who nods his head. Cassius then shoves a spear directly into Judas’ heart killing him.

The Magistrate tosses 30 pieces of silver to Jesus, “Here is your money boy.” Cassius walks with Jesus as they go down the road. “When can we retrieve his body?” Jesus asks, “Tonight,” answers Cassius.

That night, Jesus and Cassius enter the cave where Judas was lying; they steal his body and take it to a nearby cliff. They change his clothes to what Jesus wore earlier that day, and fake the hanging with his corpse.

Three days later, Mary and Jesus are trying to sneak out of town, when they accidentally run into Peter. He confronts Jesus, “My lord, you have come back from the dead!” Shocked and a bit angry too, he refuses to budge. Jesus replies “I can only be here for a short time Peter, rejoice for I will return again someday.” He then walks out of town with Mary and are never seen again.

In one of my various google searches, I by chance came upon this poem the other day, by an unknown author. I suspect my being a mother was part of what made it so striking to me, but I don’t one has to be a mother to appreciate the power of this encounter.

Two Mothers

Long time ago, so I have been told,
Two angels once met on streets paved with gold.
“By the stars in your crown,” said the one to the other
“I see that on earth, you too, were a mother.

And by, the blue-tinted halo you wear
“You, too, have known sorrow and deepest despair…”
“Ah yes,” she replied, “I once had a son,
A sweet little lad, full of laughter and fun.”

“But tell of your child.” “Oh, I knew I was blessed
From the moment I first held him close to my breast,
And my heart almost burst with the joy of that day.”
“Ah, yes,” said the other, “I felt the same way.”

The former continued: “The first steps he took-
So eager and breathless; the sweet startled look
Which came over his face – he trusted me so.”
“Ah, yes,” said the other, “How well do I know”

“But soon he had grown to a tall handsome boy,
So stalwart and kind – and it gave me so much joy
To have him just walk down the street by my side”
“Ah yes, “said the other mother,
“I felt the same pride.”

“How often I shielded and spared him from pain
And when he for others was so cruelly slain.
When they crucified him – and they spat in his face
How gladly would I have hung there in his place!”

A moment of silence – “Oh then you are she -
The mother of Christ”; and she fell on one knee.
But the Blessed one raised her up, drawing her near,
And kissed from the cheek of the woman, a tear.

“Tell me the name of the son you love so,
That I may share with your grief and your woe.”
She lifted her eyes, looking straight at the other,
“He was Judas Iscariot: I am his mother.”
