Actors Jude Law has been spotted eating out with former flame/actress Sienna Miller in Manhattan.

The stars performed in different Broadway shows before heading to restaurant ‘The Box’ to dine.

“They were laughing a lot and whispering to each other,” the Daily Star quoted an insider in New York as saying.

The source added: “It looked like they were genuinely having a good time. They certainly looked like they were more than just friends.”

Meanwhile, Law’s representatives have already denied the actor rekindling relationship Miller.

The former couple had parted ways in 2004.

Lo que nadie duda a estas alturas de la partida es que Ewan McGregor es uno de los actores más aclamados y reputados de su generación, ni Daniel Craig o Jude Law han conseguido alcanzar su status dentro de la industria cinematográfica. Acaba de estrenar en Estados Unidos “The Men Who Stare at Goats“ donde interpreta a Bob Wilton. Le acompañan en el cartel de esta alocada comedia nada más y nada menos que George Clooney, Kevin Spacey o Jeff Bridges. Pero en la videoarena nos preguntamos ¿cuál fue el primer papel cinematográfico de este actor escocés? Cómo fueron sus inicios  antes de convertirse en el fetiche de Danny Boyle.  

Renton le trajo la fama internacional.

El viaje al estrellato de este actor comienza en 31 de marzo de 1971, fecha en la que nace. A los 16 años deja su localidad natal de Crieff para iniciar su carrera teatral uniéndose a Perth Repertory Theatre. Sus padres no tardarían en animarle a que abandonara esta compañía para que se formara como actor.  Así que comenzó sus estudios de arte dramático en Kirkcaldly en Fife y en la Escuela de Música y Drama de Guildhall. Allí compartió estudios con Daniel Craig, Alistair McGowan, David Thewlis o Naveen Andrews, famoso por su papel de Said en “Perdidos” y con el que mantiene su relación de amistad en la actualidad. A los 22 años tras haber interpretado en la televisión a Jimmy en la serie “Family style”, consiguió dar el salto al cine y consiguió su primer papel gracias a Susan Figgis que le ofertó el papel de Álvarez en la película del director escocés Bill Forsyth llamada “BEING HUMAN“, y que en España se tradujo como  “Un hombre perdido en el tiempo”.

Una historia dividida en cinco capítulos que recorre la historia de la humanidad a través del personaje de Héctor interpretado por Robin Williams. McGregor aparece en el tercer segmento en un corto y tragicómico papel. Os centro un poco en la trama. El barco español donde viaja esta suerte de héroe temporal naufraga enfrente de la costas de África. Allí los supervivientes pasan hambre y sed. Un par de marineros no se les ocurre la feliz idea de robar y beberse todo el agua que queda. Por ese motivo, Don Pablo jefe de la expedición les castigará a la pena máxima, morir crucificados bajo el sol.  Será Álvarez el que se presente voluntario en lugar de Héctor para ajusticiarlos.

No fue uno de esos comienzos escurridizos como el protagonizado por Sigourney Weaver. McGregor tenía un par de frases. Cortas pero las tenía, y encima se echo una carrerita por la playa.

Un año después Danny Boyle le descubriría y le daría el papel de Alex Law en “Tumba abierta“. En 1995 mientras trabajaba en el programa de televisión “Kavanagh QC” conoce a diseñadora de producción francesa Eve Mavrakis en Francia. Durante ese verano el 22 de julio se casan en Dordogne, Aquitania (Francia) y fruto de esta unión son las dos hijas que tienen, Clara Mathilde y Esther Rose. Un año después daría el salto definitivo a la fama gracias al papel de Mark Renton en “Trainspotting“. Aquí volvería a coincidir con un viejo amigo, ya que ambos habían coincidido durante su debut cinematográfico, hablo del actor Robert Carlyle, que aparecía también en “Un hombre perdido en el tiempo” interpretando en el primer segmento a Shamen. Un vikingo que le robará a Hector su mujer e hija.

Pero las coincidencias en su carrera no acabarán aquí ya que la llave que le abrió las puertas al estrellato vino de la mano de Baz Luhrmann que le ofreció el papel Christian en “Moulin Rouge” y fue George Lucas quien le diera el empujón final al ofrecerle el papel de joven Obi Wan Kenobi en la famosa epopeya galáctica. Aceptó el papel porque su tío el también actor Denis Lawson aparecía en ”La guerra de las galaxias” interpretando a Rojo dos en la batalla final en la Estrella de la Muerte.

En la actualidad, McGregor ha formado una compañía de producción con sus amigos Jonny Lee Miller, Sean Pertwee, Jude Law y Sadie Frost, llamada “Natural Nylon”. Con ella esperan hacer películas innovadoras que no se ajusten a los estándares de Hollywood.

While Jude, 36 – who had been practising yoga on a balcony – missed their windows with the first two, he succeeded in rest of his shots.

“There was orange pulp on the glass for a week,” the Sun quoted student Neha Najeeb as saying.

I find myself rather without any work this lazy Saturday evening.

I can’t believe I’m back online (third time). Even Jezebel doesn’t have anything new for me to read and that is something to consider seriously. I believe this phenomenon has to do with the series of tests and busy days I’ve had this week. All of a sudden I have all this time in the world to rest and I have absolutely no idea what an intelligent, similar minded bloke/ blokess would do with it.

1. Gym- tick (they’re going to throw me out if they see my hovering about their premises AGAIN)
2. mail- tick (nobody write to me anymore)
3. fakebook- (nothing new there checked 5 times in the last 2 minutes)
4. Twitter (I’m so jobless I can’t even think of a witty tweet. And to think of a tweet? That really must be the lowest rung of the bored-jobless-loser-LAME ladder.)
5. Blogging (in the process- tick?)
6. TV- (actually sat and watched a show on 15 pound burgers with 25 slices of cheese and burger buns larger than the size of my face. Gross)
7. Finished a book and started another one- Tick

I even fixed a bell on my mountain bike. Much more effective than going close to pedestrians who refuses to use pavements that are shaded, broad, even and screaming BEEP as loudly as I can. It’s somehow more acceptable to sleep on your horn even when the roads are empty but not to go BEEP? How dare they!

I flipped a coin and Entourage won. It isn’t one of my favourate passtimes. I’ve only seen episode one of season one. I would like to watch House instead but I don’t have any.

I was looking up Edward Cullen on Wikipedia and I saw that it said that Edward was a Byronic hero. Because of that, I clicked on the link that explained what a Byronic hero was. Anyway, as I was reading the characteristics, it did sounds like Edward As I continued down the website, it mentioned that Lestat from the Vampire Chronicles and the Phantom from the Phantom of the Opera were Byronic heros as well, but I digress with the Phantom. That made me think about how much Lestat and Edward were alike in the sense that they are both Byronic heros. I think that’s the reason why I don’t like either character. I mean, it’s not that I hate them, but it’s just that they’re not my favorites characters from their respective series. Anyway, I think that’s the reason why I don’t like Lestat and Edward is the fact that they’re Byronic heros.

In my search for any Lestat vs. Edward stuff, I found quite a few pictures that made fun of Edward and the Twilight series or making fun of the fact the Twilight series “outshines” the Vampire Chronicles. The one that I found to be the most funny was the one where it showed Edward and Bella together in the first box, and the following three boxes showing Louis, Lestat, and Armand telling their opinions on the series. I found that Lestat’s and Armand’s reactions to be the most funny. Their reactions were classic Lestat and Armand. Anyway, the next one that I thought was funny was the one where Lestat as picking on Edward. I just found those funny. By the way, you can find the originals at this site.

The beautiful thing about this movie is the words the language used which is both smart and cruel it’s amazing how sentences can hurt and destroy so much

This is not a film to watch if you are looking for action it’s more about Character , Drama and situations then anything else. This is just a adult relationship drama and everything here is beautiful.

This is a drama but feels more like a horror movie there are so many scenes of emotional violence that this is like watching a massacre. Since there are only four characters it’s easy to get to know the characters even though they don’t talk about there pasts much you get to know them so much that you feel the pain and despair that they do.

The Switching allegiances, mind games and harsh words make this like a british David Mamet film though you can tell the film is based on a play for it’s limited locations and exclusive intimate closed spaces that the action takes place in. Mike Nichols wisely knows how to open the film up to make it looks sumptuous.

Even though the cast is all good the person who walks away with the film is Natalie Portman this is what award winning acting is all about een thought she didn’t even get nominated it was a chance for her to escape her shackles of her teen and lightweight roles to show that she is not only grown but a fully sexual being. From her scene in the strip club where even though she is taking orders she is in total control while also letting herself be completely vulnerable by actually telling the truth for one of the first times in the film. To when she is being vulnerable when she is supposed to be running away with the love of her life. Mike Nichols also knows how to make this beautiful lady into a goddess with color, dress and showing just enough skin.

Cate Blanchett was originally cast in the Julia Roberts role she played the role in the play that Julia Roberts plays but she got pregnant and could not do the role so she was replaced by Julia Roberts who does pretty good in this role since this is really one of the few times where she plays a three dimensional character that is kind of like her usual self of being likeable but also capable of being hateful. There is no cutesy sweet girl we are used to here. Jude Law and Clive Owen were both also in the play but here they switched the roles they originally played. Both are too perfection.

The film also has a beautiful opening scene with the song the blower’s daughter by Damien rice that this movie seem to put on the charts for people to discover which in itself is a haunting song that hovers over the rest of the film

The Imaginarium is a shoddy prop mirror, a cardboard frame containing two sheets of reflective plastic which form a kind of curtain. But when you step through the mirror, you are transported to a wondrous realm where your imagination is unchained and allowed to run riot. It could be seen as a metaphor for Terry Gilliam’s films. They always appear gritty and lived-in, lacking that Hollywood sheen. But if you allow yourself to step into the film, you can be rewarded with great depths of imagination. In The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, however, we seem to looking at the mirror from the other side. On the surface it’s all polish, that Hollywood sheen. And if you step through, you’ll be lucky to find anything at all.

The titular Doctor (Christopher Plummer) leads a theatre troupe, consisting of his daughter Valentina (Lily Cole), dwarf Percy (Verne Troyer) and leading man Anton (Andrew Garfield), around London in their combination stage/gypsy caravan. In alleyways, outside nightclubs, even in a Homebase car park, they invite members of the public to step through the mirror into their own imagination. It transpires that this is all part of a competition between Parnassus and the devil (also known as Mr. Nick, played by Tom Waits). Parnassus thinks he can save people’s souls through the power of imagination, while the devil thinks he can ensnare them through their vices.

There’s another, more sinister side to the competition. As Anton tells the audience at the beginning of each performance, Parnassus is thousands of years old. He achieved everlasting life through a bargain with the devil. In exchange for immortality, any children Parnassus begets will belong to Mr. Nick once they reach sixteen. Valentina’s sixteenth birthday is fast approaching, and in an attempt to save her, Parnassus enters another deal with the devil. The first to claim five souls wins, and the winner decides Valentina’s fate.

Much of the buzz surrounding The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus has centred around Heath Ledger’s performance as Tony, it being his last before his tragic death. Ledger brings a certain oily charisma to the apparent charity worker the troupe finds hanging under a bridge. Unfortunately, Ledger died before completing principal photography. In a bit of creative problem solving, Gilliam cast three other actors as Tony. Each seems to personify a different aspect of Tony’s character as he steps through the mirror: Johnny Depp is the charisma; Jude Law the selfishness; and Colin Farrell the womanising.

It’s an interesting idea, and works well within the film’s internal logic. But each of the three actors portraying a single trait, and when compared to Ledger’s more nuanced performance, they all come out as one-dimensional and uninteresting. This is perhaps the film’s biggest problem: Ledger’s death and the casting of Depp, Law and Farrell has given the character of Tony an almost mystical air. The problem is, Tony isn’t a particularly extraordinary character, and after the tour de force that was Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight, audiences may come away disappointed.

The rest of the cast doesn’t fare much better. While Christopher Plummer effectively combines nobility with dejection to give a surprisingly sympathetic performance, and Andrew Garfield’s easy charm works well against Ledger’s smarm, Tom Waits’ phoned-in performance does not impress, and Verne Troyer does dwarfs a disservice by displaying no acting ability whatsoever.

The same unevenness comes through in the film’s visuals. At times it looks stunning. A tracking shot up a decaying, quasi-Buddhist temple, for instance, or a giant stone bust of Parnassus bursting up from the ground. But, disappointingly for a Terry Gilliam film, these moments are rare. Most of the time the production design is bland and uninspired. It’s not bad; it just lacks Gilliam’s visual wit. Maybe it’s the overreliance on CGI; Gilliam is not a director who works well with computers. The charm of his earlier work, such as Jabberwocky or Time Bandits, came from the physically constructed sets and props. They gave the films soul. And soul is exactly what CGI has denied Gilliam’s latest.

Thematically, too, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a mess. Gilliam and co-writer Charles McKeown want to say something profound about human nature, but never quite get round to it. At one point it seems the film is about the importance of stories. Or is it about the power of the imagination? Or maybe redemption? Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell, as each potential theme gets buried underneath a series of chaotic set pieces. Ultimately, the film lacks the direction of Gilliam’s early work. Even The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, another film fit to burst with elaborate set pieces, was tied together by a singular purpose.

In some ways, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus treads the same ground as Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic series. Both deal with the power of stories and the imagination, set against the backdrop of the real world and various fantastical realms. But, while Gaiman weaved a dense narrative with dazzling artwork and rich characterisation, Gilliam has constructed a thin veneer of visual sparkle with little underneath. All we can do is wait until he steps through to the other side of the mirror.

Die Theatertruppe um Dr. Parnassus macht sich deshalb zu einer aufregenden Reise gegen die Zeit auf – in eine surreale und berauschende Welt voller Wunder und Verlockungen.

Nach der „Monty-Python“-Kultreihe, „12 Monkeys“ und „Brothers Grimm“ stellt Regisseur Terry Gilliam ein modernes, mitreißendes Märchen mit einem beeindruckenden, internationalen Cast vor. Nach dem tragischen Tod von Hauptdarsteller Heath Ledger während der Dreharbeiten vervollständigen seine Freunde Johnny Depp, Jude Law und Colin Farrell die facettenreiche Figur des Tony.

I was bored recently and was on my computer I don’t know why but I typed Lestat vs. Edward into Google to see what I would get. Anyway, a lot of stuff that popped up were drawings of people making fun of Edward through Lestat’s point of view, and videos and articles asking who would win in a no-holds bar fight. I immediately thought that Lestat would definitely win. I say that because, after looking up their powers as a refresher, while Edward has super strength, super speed, and can read minds, Lestat can do or has all of that, plus so much more. Lestat also has pyrokinesis, the ability to fly, and he’s telekinetic. Plus, he killed an entire wolf pack by himself, albeit with the help of his two mastiff dogs. Anyway, I really think that Lestat would definitely win the fight against Edward, and that’s assuming Lestat doesn’t fall in love with Edward first, which I doubt would actually happen, and that Lestat doesn’t hurt Bella.

The ad campaign for Dior Homme Intense fragrance  is even more  looked after because of the one and only Jude Law. He looks so attractive… buy the perfume and look like Jude? If only it was that simple…

Jag antar att det var igår som jag märkte det för första gången: Min sexualitet och mitt språk har förändrats sedan jag började med testosteron. Det är snart ett år sedan jag skrev “God kuk!” till Dennis, och sedan dess har jag varit noggrann med att kolla att det blir rätt ord: jul, kul eller kuk. Igår var jag nära att skicka ett sms där det stod rumpa istället för stora. Jag skriver alltså rumpa oftare än stora, enligt T9, och det måste vara något relativt nytt. Såhär rumpfixerad har jag inte varit förut.

Det är mycket som har förändrats. När jag började med testosteron för snart fem månader sedan fanns det vissa saker som jag oroade mig för: Att min ADHD skulle förvärras, att jag skulle bli sexuell och inte trivas med det, och att jag skulle bli heterosexuell och inte trivas med det heller.

Jag hade en internaliserad heterofobi som var pinsam, men som jag försökte att hantera ändå. Min bild av hur det är att vara heterosexuell är förmodligen ganska störd, eftersom jag är osäker på hur frigjord en heterosexuell man “får” vara. I heteroland gäller lite andra spelregler än i HBT-världen, har jag förstått, och min bild har varit ganska dyster. Att vara bisexuell har jag inga problem med, men att inse att jag är heterosexuell och därmed känna mig utesluten ur HBT-sammanhang och ändå inte helt välkommen i heteronormen – det var min stora mardröm.

Även om de flesta inte byter läggning när de börjar med hormoner, så finns det de som gör det. En del svänger från att bara gilla killar till att bara gilla tjejer eller tvärtom; andra glider längs med skalan. Det sistnämnda har jag gjort, tror jag. Jag är inte längre 95% bög, utan ungefär 80% – fast egentligen är det svårt att uttrycka det på det viset. Androgynofil, brukar jag kalla mig själv: Jag attraheras av androgynitet och androgyna personer. Det stämmer fortfarande, men jag räknar numera in fler personer.

Innan testosteron föll jag framförallt för personer ur följande kategorier:

• Kukfödda män med “androgyn” stil: typ Ola Salo och Jude Law.
• Kukfödda män med mjuk, “feminin” framtoning oavsett utseende: typ Robin Williams, Peter LeMarc, Mark Levengood och Jonas Gardell.
• Transkillar, bortsett från de som hade en alltför “maskulin” stil: Flanellskjortor och keps, till exempel, och svällande muskler och tatueringar. “Mannen med fittan” Buck Angel är till exempel inte riktigt min smak, även om jag tycker att han har en härlig inställning till sin kropp som jag beundrar.
• Intergenders, ospecificerade transpersoner etc. som ligger nära “mitten” av könsskalan utseendemässigt och har ett queert förhållningssätt.
• Någon enstaka gång ibland fittfödda kvinnor med en mycket androgyn (dock inte butch) stil: Typ Melina Kanakeredes och Malena Ernman, och förmodligen lika sällan en kukfödd man med uppenbart “maskulin” stil.

Det hände att jag definierade min läggning som “jag attraheras av personer av alla kön, utom av fittbärande kvinnliga kvinnor i en typiskt kvinnlig könsroll”. I själva verket var det inte riktigt så enkelt. Jag föll framförallt för personer med en “androgyn maskulinitet” och framförallt för personer med kuk, och allra hårdast föll jag för de som hade båda två.

Idag har jag börjat inse att jag kan lägga till en kategori:

• Personer med ett kvinnligt könsuttryck, men med androgyna och/eller maskulina drag.

Där ingår till exempel en del kukfödda transpersoner med relativt feminina könsuttryck och kroppar, tjejer med strapons, tjejer med kuk och killar i kjol, peruk och smink. Däremot är tjejer med en tydligt kvinnlig könsidentitet, ett tydligt kvinnligt könsuttryck och fitta fortfarande otänkbara, och därmed även till exempel transsexuella tjejer som strävar efter att smälta in som kvinnor, göra könskorrigerande operation och inte känner sig bekväma med att ses som queera eller som trans. Jag är inte intresserad av kvinnlighet, utan av androgynitet.

Nu är allt detta i mitt huvud, alltså. Allt är teori, inget är praktik. Jag kommer på mig själv med att sjunga “I wish I was a virgin, a virgin like you… I wish I was as simple as you seem” och inse att jag på sätt och vis är en oskuld, men ändå väldigt komplicerad. Nu har jag i alla fall släppt min heterofobi, eftersom jag insett att heterosexuella inte alltid är så utsatta som jag intalat mig att de är. Än så länge har jag inte blivit hetero, men bög, homosexuell och bisexuell käns inte längre som att de passar. Androgynofil, transofil och queersexuell – det är väl snarare det jag är, om jag nu ska sätta etiketter.

På sätt och vis har min läggning förändrats, men på sätt och vis inte. Jag är fortfarande androgynofil, men i takt med att jag blir tryggare i min mansroll vågar jag tänka mig kvinnliga personer utan att halka in på självömkan över att jag riskerar att få min kropp bedömd och sorterad som ändå kvinnligare än deras. Jag är precis lika fjollig som förut, men min självkänsla är starkare och jag är tryggare i min manlighet och har tappat en stor del av min rädsla för tjejbaciller. En biverkning som testosteronet haft är nämligen att den så gott som helt har botat min heterofobi.

Hautnah, das im englischen Original “Closer” betitelte Stück von Patrick Marber, das im Jahr 1997 in London uraufgeführt wurde, ist am Schauspielhaus Bochum zu sehen. Endlich! Freude! Große!

Das Bühnenstück behandelt das Leben, Streben und Scheitern eines romantisch, liebeshungrigen Quartetts, das die Liebe in all ihren Facetten in Frage stellt. Rache, Frust, Lust, Leidenschaft, Eifersucht, Macht und andere Ingredienzchen, machen es den vier Großstädtern nicht einfach, den Liebespfad zu beschreiten und auf ewig glücklich zu werden. Schonungslos und kompromisslos wird hier dem Glücksstreben nachgegangen und ein wundervolles Portrait der Bindungsunfähigkeit geliefert.

“Die Stripperin Alice liebt den Schriftsteller Dan; Dan liebt Alice, aber auch die Fotografin Anna. Anna liebt Dan, heiratet aber den Arzt Larry. Alice verlässt Dan, weil er Anna liebt. Anna verlässt Larry, weil sie Dan liebt. Larry trifft Alice und zieht mit ihr zusammen. Alice arrangiert ein Treffen von Larry und Anna, weil sie Dan liebt. Larry und Anna ziehen wieder zusammen. Alice und Dan ziehen wieder zusammen. Alice geht fort, Larry hat eine neue Partnerin, Anna hat einen Hund und Dan bleibt verliebt in die Liebe.”

Hautnah wurde 2004 von Mike Nichols mit Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman und Clive Owen in den Hauptrollen verfilmt, wobei Clive Owen und Natalie Portman 2005 den Golden Globe für die beste Nebenrolle erhielten und für den Oscar nominiert wurden.

Bei dem in Bochum aufgeführten Stück handelt es sich um eine Koproduktion mit dem Schauspiel Frankfurt.

Los, los ab in die Theatersessel!!!

Homem-Ciência. Homem-Natureza. Homem-Máquina. Sob um ângulo tão inesperado quanto chocante David Cronemberg sinaliza com uma forma de terror ao alcance de todos. O homem não é apenas  uma cópula com adjetivos do dia-a-dia do conhecimento. É sim, e muito, mas apenas enquanto permanece estático. Como o homem é movimento o que surge, a princípio como nexo, evolui para a forma de um combate: Homem vs. Ciência. Homem vs. Natureza. Homem vs. Máquina.

O homem é um adversário inferior. Sempre perde.

Um jogo virtual e real, “Existenz”, é uma espécie de RPG jogado em rede. Os participantes tem um personagem de jogo interagindo num sonho coletivo. O show de Cronemberg fica por conta da quantidade de imagens metafóricas. Cinema puro, neste sentido, a concordarmos com a definição de que cinema “é sonho de olhos abertos”. Metáforas pesadas. Joysticks eróticos. Armas literalmente biológicas. Multiplicidade de ânus.

E há ainda um show paralelo de sedução. Temos um Cronemberg filosófico não muito comprometido com questões morais ou éticas. Moral e ética não são valores assumidos manifestamente pelo cinema. Nem devem ser. O caso é que o filme é apavorantemente verossímel. Faz do próprio cinema uma das armas do conhecimento contra o homem.

Talvez este filme seja o mais perturbador de David Cronemberg. Digo talvez porque  “Existenz” é o último filme que eu vi. A cinebiografia do diretor é um vasto leque de atrocidades tangíveis. Tão possíveis que chegam a provocar desejos contrários. Queremos que não seja assim. Queremos que o mundo da existência permita outros jogos. Outros jogos aonde podemos transcender para lugares como o céu. Não como o inferno projetado aqui.

Big news on Kenneth Branagh’s Thor is that the Warriors Three have been cast. None of them are Jude Law, Dominic West or Robert De Niro.

Instead the word on the street is that that Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone, Rome), Stuart Townsend (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Queen of the Damned) and Tadanobu Asano (Mongol) are to play the trio. Apparently, Stevenson will take on the role of “Volstagg the Valiant”, Asano will be “Hogun the Grim”, and Townsend will portray “Fandral the Dashing”.

Now this news has come from Variety, but every link I follow on other sites takes me to a dead page on Variety and looking at the list of movie news on their site I just can’t see it listed. It is probably just me being a bit blind today. I am assuming it was on their, but has since been removed. If that is the case then that could mean the news isn’t true or someone has messed up somewhere down the line.

I thought I would share the news anyway. It doesn’t quite ring true to me though as none of these actors have been linked to the film before now. Although Stevenson would be great (I am assuming Volstaag won’t be as big as he often is in the comic) and Asano already looks like Hogun, I feel the week link is Townsend. Just a personal thing, but he doesn’t cut it for me. He was naff as Dorian Gray in the naff LXG and he was down to play Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings but after a few days shooting he was replaced.

There you have it some news which may not actually be correct (hopefully Variety will sort it out), but it may be. Who knows!

UPDATE: Marvel is now confirming the casting – “Fandral will be played by Stuart Townsend. The job of Hogun goes to Tadanobu Asano. And Volstagg will be portrayed Ray Stevenson.”
