No sé que tiene la nueva V que no termina de llenarme… Supongo que la mitad de la culpa es mia por tener expectativas, asi es màs fàcil que las cosas me defrauden.

             La otra mitad de la culpa es de ellos. La historia està bien montada, los efectos son buenos (para ser television y no cine) pero no aporta nada nuevo. Ademàs, està el rollo de las comparaciones, y aunque Anna tiene pinta de mala, jamàs llegarà a ser como Diana (pronunciese Dayana). Aquella comandante (o lo que fuera) con pelo cardado, gafas de aviador y tacones de aguja. Ahora los Vistantes van vestidos de Armani,  sin esos monos tan poco favorecedores rojos que llevan los primeros, y aunque asi la serie gana en glam, pierde en kitch. Y luego està Juliet en plan agente del FBI, pero es que me pasa como con Penny en FlashForward, que a los losties los sacas de la isla, y como que no los veo…

                    En general la serie no està mal, se deja ver, es facilona y un buen entretenimiento para ver mientras cenas. Para disfrutar y saborear cada bocado, mejor ver Modern Family, que es una serie que no te esperas y simplemente genial.

Terceiro livro da série, “Artemis Fowl – O Código Eterno”, consegue construir um supercomputador após roubar tecnologia do Povo das Fadas, que possuíam tecnologia muito mais avançada que a humana. Ele denomina a sua invenção de Cubo V. Como ele não queria mal estar com os novos “amigos” resolve não revelar que o construiu através de seus atos trapaceiros.

Artemis continua nesta nova aventura fazendo o que faz melhor: sendo um gênio do crime, mas, para variar, as coisas não dão muito certo. Após tentar chantagear John Spiro, um inescrupuloso milionário norte-americano lidado à máfia de Chicago, as coisas saem do controle, Butler é morto e o Cubo V, roubado. O pior ainda estava para acontecer: o supercomputador dá acesso ao usuário à informações sobre o Povo das Fadas.

Desesperado e sem saber o que fazer para reverter essa quantidade de problemas em que se meteu, Artemis apela e pede ajuda para Holly. Ela, por sua vez, ajudaria ele de bom grado se a Cidade do Porto, capital do reino das fadas não estivesse em polvorosa por causa do alerta disparado: o sistema de segurança foi invadido por algum humano dando acesso às informações restritas aos seres fantásticos.

Artemis, que apesar de ser descrito desde o primeiro livro como um menino frio, calculista e criminoso, nunca de fato realiza maldades perversas em que prejudique de fato qualquer ser. Até então não se comporta de forma exemplar, mas já conhecemos muitos personagens piores no universo da literatura.

O garoto, vendo-se sem saída, apela para o lado emocional sendo honesta e revela a Holly toda a verdade. Diz que foi o seu computador, construído com tecnologia mista das fadas e dos humanos, que fez a invasão. Mas não tinha sido ele, e sim um escroque que só queria ganhar mais dinheiro.

O comandante Raiz após descobrir a verdade, determina que Holly, Palha e Juliet recuperem o computador de imediato, antes que a existência do povo seja revelado pela o mundo humano. Afinal, anos e anos de segredo não poderia se perder assim. Ao mesmo tempo em que uma equipe é montada para recuperar o supercomputador, Artemis se desespera com a perda do seu amigo e guarda-costas, abatido em combate. Será mesmo o fim da linha para Butler? Só lendo para saber. Meus resumos e sugestões tem sido muito grandes, é bom deixar o suspense no ar para incentivar a leitura.

Esse volume, assim como todos os demais, é bastante divertido e dei muita risada praticamente em todas as aparições de Palha Escavator na história. A parte em que em que ele invade com Artemis, Juliet e Holly as indústria Spiro é hilária. Vale a pena conferir!

So I’m finally recovered enough to blog about the festivities from Thursday night.  It was an absolutely tremendous event, one that exceeded each and every one of my expectations.  After months of planning, to see it finally come to fruition is utterly rewarding.  It really was more of a ceremony, and as much as it was a launch for the TABOOXJUMP collaboration, it was also very much a rite of passage for our brand.  I cannot thank Taboo enough for helping us make this a reality.  We are so completely fortunate to have aligned at this moment in time and we’re truly blessed for it.

The evening began at our SoHo store.  We had all the traditional JUMP festival accoutrement, Serrano ham from Despana professionally sliced by Senor Alex and cases upon cases of champagne.

Then the place got crazy.

Taboo makes his grand entrance.

The interesting thing about Taboo is how engaging he can be with people.  He is extremely down to earth and has become a brother amongst the JUMP team.  The personalities simply meshed and it’s only because of this that the whole thing coalesced into such an amazing collaboration.  He turned our counter into a stage that night.

After all the autographs were signed, the interviews taken, we were off to Juliet for the VIP after party.  The place looked heavenly.

Then people started rolling in.  DJ Atrak and Kim Stolz from America’s Next Top Model.

Just prior to coming to Juliet, they had made it to another red carpet for the opening of Shingo Katori’s “Talk Like Singing”.  Shingo is huge in Japan and is a member of SMAP.  Taboo had presented him with a pair of the TXJ shoes and of course, he put them on right away!

It’s cool how the red works with the red carpet.

Fergie came to support and we had a chance to chat about her shoe line!

Watching movies with my other half currently. All old faves from my own library. Just now we’re starting to watch Strictly Ballroom, one of my all time favourite Australian films. Interestingly I rented some academic books on the subject of Australian television and cinema, wanting to fuel my desire in the subject. It worked. One of the books, which i now can’t recall the name of, identified a niche genre in Australian cinema; the glitter film.

Glitter films were generally summed up by the concept of a ‘disabled’ protagonist, whether that be in terms of societal standing, physical attractiveness or physical and mental ability. Said protagonist finds themselves in a bleak world, often with oppressive/aggressive parents and a lack of suitable role models. Their solution to these problems however generally find themselves in a creative outlet. If you’re familiar with Strictly Ballroom, you’ll know that this description fits it perfectly. It also fits Cosi, Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Muriel’s Wedding. I love Priscilla, have only seen Muriel’s Wedding once and and have never seen Cosi, but I am shameless fan of the genre.

Don’t get me wrong, Strictly Ballroom has its flaws, but god help me I love it to death. There are elements of it that Baz Luhrman should have carried into his other films. The rustic magic. Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet have more of a sparkle to them. I see the three films as a rough cut opal being almost outshone by the two brilliant diamonds either side. And I’m just so ANNOYED that he hasn’t made any other Australian films.

I am not counting Australia. It’s not a Red Curtain film as far as I’m concerned, and I miss those so much.

I really should watch Australia at some point…

Hey Ya’ll!!

I have been a road dog the past few days and out of touch so my apologies!!!   And I thought the world was connected!!!!  So much to talk about this week though!  ET of the Yr Miss Taylor?  Lady Antebellum group of the year?  I think both of these groups are great with a lot of potential, however didn’t both of these winners open tours for the acts they were nominated with?  Ha….how does this happen…I don’t get it!!!  Who’s votin’ for this award show anyways! 

A very deserving category for Taylor is the #1 Video of the Yr!  I must say I did vote for her in this category and her video “Love Story” is up for review today!  Such fancy sets and great shots!  What can I say….it’s #1!  I give it a 10!

He had eight last night. His desire for Johnny Walker black label with two ice cubes (certainly no more, occasionally less) had been nagging all day. It wasn’t a sloppy binge because he forgot his dignity and self-control somewhere between #5 and #6. Truth is, he hadn’t had more than one or two together for almost a month and he’s supremely suspicious of any habit, even sobriety. Besides savoring the smokey taste, it was an accessible way to stick it to the man, or men, guzzling watermelon vodka with raspberry what? And his body needs, even craves the sickness and ache in the lowest pit of his stomach, and the associated disorienting spins are together the closest form in which he experiences the concept known as “masochism.”

Of course the following morning’s purification process is equally ritualistic and unplanned to meet the pain. Today it is as follows:

Walks as upright as possible to the nearest STORE 24 with a stack of ones. Amasses a cache of Arnold Palmer Half and Halfs. Lines them up on the counter with the images of A. Palmer all facing out. Methodically pops open every last top with great satisfaction. He wonders if this will be enough to last him till the afternoon. 

Amuses himself with abstract and witty quotes from short plays by Noel Coward to restart his own creative process: “Some women should be struck regularly, like gongs.” and “Extraordinary how potent cheap music is…” while remembering that urban vernacular (“see them ice, see them cars”) over a heavy beat on the 2 and 4 can make a home-schooled white boy want to sway his skinny hipbones. 

Compares the tragic virtues of Ophelia and Juliet over BBM and decidedly favors the side of Ophelia. Sure they both die for love on the surface. But Ophelia dies alone, crazed, distrusted, senseless. Juliet simply gets too much play. Pun intended. 

Washes himself with the soul of Odetta and wonders in awe at her bark and moan. Fantasizes about locking up Creed and Godsmack and forcing them to listen to Odetta sing “Waterboy” on repeat until they stop pretending to cry because they’re rocking so hard. Pearl Jam is over, let it go.

Aquí os presento algo más sobre los ‘menos protagonistas’, con vídeos suyos en sus respectivos nombres.

CHRISTIAN SHEPHARD: Padre de Jack. Viajaba muerto dentro de un ataúd en el Oceanic 815 y cuando el avión se estrelló en la isla su cadaver desapareció. Sin embargo, su fantasma ya ha hablado con varios protagonistas adquiriendo un papel cada vez mayor en la trama de la serie. También es padre de Claire, aunque de diferente mujer, y ella nunca lo conoció como tal.

CLAIRE LITTLETON: Hermanastra de Jack sin saberlo. Viajaba en el Oceanic embarazada de Aaron, al que dio a luz en la isla y forma, junto a Charlie, una de las parejas más entrañables de la serie, que se rompe con la muerte del último. Fue raptada por ‘Los Otros’ y perseguida por Rousseau. A día de hoy se desconoce su paradero, aunque sabemos que se encuentra con Christian y eso da seguridad.

CHARLIE PACE: Miembro de ‘Drive shafts’, una banda de rock en decadencia. Llega a la isla siendo un drogadicto y Locke le ayuda a dejar las drogas. Se enamora de Claire y forman una ‘familia’ con Aaron. Protagonista principal en las primeras temporadas que, junto a Hugo, son ‘la sonrisa’ del espectador. Muere por amor y amistad. Un ejemplo a seguir.

AARON LITTLETON: Hijo de Claire al que Charlie apadrina como un hijo. De los únicos que nació en la isla. Actualmente está en tierra firme pues Kate, que fue como una madre adoptiva para él durante un tiempo, lo dejó allí cuando volvió de la isla.

HUGO ‘HURLEY’ REYES: Mantiene el ‘buen rollo’ entre los supervivientes del Oceanic 815; es el personaje cómico de la serie. Ganó la lotería con unos ‘números malditos’ (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) que se repetirán a lo largo de las temporadas, lo que da un suspense bastante interesante. Estuvo internado en varias ocasiones en manicomios por tener visiones de gente que ha muerto y es perseguido por la policía por los secretos que guardaron al abandonar la isla. Actualmente se encuentra en la isla y, aunque durante poco tiempo, trabajó en la Iniciativa Dharma.

MICHAEL DAWSON: Superviviente del Oceanic que llega a la isla con su hijo Walt, al que apenas conoce por haber estado éste con su madre. Construye una balsa para sacar a Walt de la isla y Los Otros se lo roban. Para recuperarlo, se convierte en un traidor al asesinar a dos compañeros para salvar a Ben, líder de Los Otros. Regresa a su casa y, tras intentar suicidarse en varias ocasiones, vuelve a la isla “para morir” ayudando a los supervivientes en un barco que manda Charles Widmore.

WALT DAWSON: Hijo de Michael. Llega a la isla e intima mucho con Locke, algo que no gusta a su padre. Siempre inseparable de su perro Vincent, los flashbacks demuestran que tiene poderes antinaturales. Sabe que su padre asesinó a dos supervivientes y por eso deja de hablarle. En estos momentos se encuentra fuera de la isla, aunque en un capítulo se le aparece a Locke para darle fuerzas a continuar con su trabajo.

SAYID JARRAH: Torturador que trabajó en la milicia iraquí y llega a la isla siendo un experto con los aparatos electrónicos. Al salir de la isla acaba trabajando para Ben como sicario tras enterrar a la mujer de sus sueños por culpa de los enemigos de éste, los hombres de Charles Widmore. Otro que ha dado, está dando y dará mucho juego a la serie.

JIN SOO KWON: Pescador coreano, esposo de Sun y sicario del padre de ésta. En un principio no sabe hablar inglés lo que le da problemas con los supervivientes del 815 pero acaba aprendiendo a la perfección. Parece que muere en el barco que los va a salvar pero finalmente acaba viajando en el tiempo con Sawyer y los otros donde conoce a Rousseau de joven. Ahora está trabajando en la Iniciativa Dharma.

SUN HWA KWON: Mujer de Jin e hija de un empresario coreano multimillonario, que no acepta su relación hasta que Jin trabaja como sicario para él. Al principio es reprimida en la isla por su marido pero poco a poco las cosas se calman, aunque en los flashbacks veamos que lo ha engañado con otro hombre. Se queda embarazada en la isla pero da a luz en Corea, cuando es una de ‘Los Oceanic Six’ que habían salido. Está enfrentada con Ben por pensar que había matado a su marido y cuando éste le dice que no está muerto, ella vuelve a la isla.

DESMOND HUME: Llega a la isla antes que los supervivientes y se pasa tres años de su vida pulsando un botón para ‘salvar el mundo’. Es la pareja de Penny, hija de Widmore, quién cree que no se merece a su única descendiente aunque la relación entre ambos sea envidiable -sobre todo por esa preciosa conversación que tienen tras tres años sin verse-. Antes de que Charlie muera, tiene una compenetración especial con éste al salvarle la vida en varias ocasiones por visualizar el futuro. Otro que tiene mucho que dar a la serie.

PENNY WIDMORE: Hija de Charles, hermanastra de Faraday y pareja de Desmond, lo que la convierte también en un personaje importante. Enfrentada con su padre, busca a ‘Des’ alrededor del mundo durante tres años hasta hallarlo vivo y rescatarlo, junto a otros supervivientes, en un barco que iba en su búsqueda. Éste es el momento cuándo Penny y Desmond se conocen por primera vez.

DANIELLE ROUSSEAU: Superviviente francesa de otro naufragio anterior al Oceanic, el de ‘La Roca Negra’. Estuvo durante 16 años viviendo en la isla escapando de ‘Los Otros’, quienes le robaron a su hija Alex, y evitando cruzárselos en su camino. Deja un mensaje en la torre de radio que se repetirá todos esos años y por ello los supervivientes descubren su existencia. Intenta llevarse a Aaron de las manos de Claire. La conocimos de joven cuando su barco llegó a la isla. Los hombres de Widmore acaban asesinándola cuando intentaba proteger a su hija y al novio de ésta.

ALEX ¿LINUS? ROUSSEAU: Hija de Rousseau y robada por Ben, a quién ella conoce como padre. Un lío, vamos. Vivió toda su vida en la isla con ‘Los Otros’ hasta que conoce a su madre y a los supervivientes del Oceanic 815. La acaban matando en los ojos de su padrastro Ben, que la deja morir. Aquí lo vemos.

JULIET BURKE: Médica especializada en reproducción, es reclutada por Richard para conseguir hacer nacer a niños en la isla, que hasta ese momento es imposible por un error electromagnético que ya explicaré más adelante. Se convierte en una de ‘Los Otros’ durante tres años hasta que se escapa con los supervivientes por medio de Jack, con el que parece que va a iniciar una relación. Finalmente, y tras quedarse en la isla mientras Jack y los demás se van, se convierte en la pareja de Sawyer en 1977 cuando están con la Iniciativa Dharma y acaban viviendo juntos. Con la vuelta de Kate, peligra su relación.

RICHARD ALPERT: Interesante y muy importante personaje que conocemos en diferentes épocas y siempre está con el mismo aspecto físico, es decir, nunca envejece. Es uno ‘Los Otros’ y, aunque nunca ejerce como líder, siempre es un fiel consejero de todos ellos para comunicarse con Jacob y también para traer a gente que ellos necesitan a la isla, como Juliet. Le salva la vida a Ben y está en muchos momentos con John Locke.

DANIEL FARADAY: Físico y profesor que se lanzó a la isla en paracaídas (a los primeros que encontró fue a Jack y a Kate: de ahí la famosa frase entre los Losties de ‘Are you Jack’?) desde un helicóptero que venía del barco de Widmore. Era hijo de Eloise y de Charles Widmore, pero de éste sólo lo supimos al final, por lo que es hermanastro de Penny. Es uno de los protagonistas y es muy entrañable por su actitud distraída, sus buenas maneras y su interés científico por las misteriosas propiedades de la Isla. Se pasó toda su vida adulta estudiando el espacio-tiempo y su constante es Desmond porque se le apareció del futuro. Era muy cariñoso con su amiga Charlotte, de la que estaba enamorada y la vió morir en sus manos por los continuos flashes y viajes en el tiempo.Cuando acude armado al campamento de ‘Los Otros’ para buscar a su madre en 1977, ésta lo mata sin saber que era su hijo.

Y no me olvido de estos que están o han estado y que han tenido importancia, pero por unas razones u otras no los debo meter en este ‘Quién es quién’:

Very clever, V, casting one of the Cylon Final Five as a member of the V Task Force within the FBI.  I only wish I were a little more geeky.  My brain is telling my mouth to water over this bit of casting, but my mouth’s just not that into it.

Also, nice touch giving Erica nee Juliet’s partner’s widow a V-shaped necklace.

But on the whole, V, I think, as they used to say in the mental patient’s writing group: “You’re taking too long to get into it.” 

I want to be in pain that I have to wait a whole week to find out what happens next.  You know what show has good cliffhanger endings?  Look at early seasons of Alias.  Look at True Blood.  Yes, I’ll say it: look at BSG.

I wanna be a rabid fan.  Trust me, it’s either that or find something else to do to amuse myself during your timeslot.  And I am lazy.  But picky.  And with more channels than there are flavors of Fancy Feast, why shouldn’t I be?

Oh no my readers! I’ve slacked off again and I must catch up! We just finished finals here and its only 38 days until I return home. Gasp…shock…I know the time as flown by. Still trying to retain some semblance of order lets talk about Verona!

Ahhh the city of love! Relatively small but still amazingly beautiful. One of the first things we did, and something everyone must do, is went to see Juliet’s balcony. The first thing you notice when you walk in to the courtyard is thousands and thousands of couple’s names written in marker on the wall or on paper posted with anything available. It was touching, and personally made me feel both lonely at hopeful at the same time. Below the balcony is the statue of Juliet, in which it is customary to go up and rub her breast for good luck. There was literally a line down the courtyard of people waiting to do this and take a picture.

After we hiked up to the highest point in the city to see the amazing view of city. Beautiful!!!

As far as Verona, definitely worth a day trip. It is small and there’s not that much to do so I wouldn’t stay there long but going for a few hours is worth it!

O projeto Beta foi criado para abordar assuntos variados, só que eu cheguei por aqui, fui assumindo minha posição nesse “barco” e comecei a escrever. Primeiro foi um texto sobre F1, as especulações e outras coisas para a temporada 2009, depois foram alguns textos sobre outros assuntos mas com Formula 1 no meio.

Passado se um tempo a Juliet se juntou ao blog oficialmente (isso é uma longa historia), e continuei postando sobre meu vicio, e ela com seus textos deu uma variada no blog (apesar dela colocar indiretas, principalmente para esse aqui que está escrevendo, na maioria de  seus textos). E a agradecer a ela por trazer alguma coisa a mais para o blog para não parecer exclusivo de automobilismo.

Agora postarei alguns outros assuntos(e isso não é promessa estilo de ano novo não), mas não é porque a temporada 2009 acabou que somente em 2010 voltaram os posts, tentar ao máximo informar sobre o que acontece nos bastidores.

Vamos ver agora como serão (se ela postar) os post da Juliet já que ela está em época de vestibulares, e ela prometeu nas ferias mais atualizações.

Ver o que acontece nesse barco navegando por águas desconhecidas e sem um destino certo.

O episódio piloto de V foi ao ar nesta terça-feira, 2. Bem produzido, empolgante e com um alto fator de vício. Esse primeiro episódio já deixa claro que os aliens que vieram pedir asilo em nosso planeta e oferecendo todo o seu conhecimento tecnológico em troca disso e repetindo o discurso “Nós somos pacíficos. Sempre”, na verdade já haviam se infiltrado há muito tempo na Terra e preparado uma invasão. Mas o que eles estão procurando? O que farão conosco? É o que Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell), uma policial que tem seu filho seduzido pelos V, de Visitantes, padre Jack Landry (Joel Gretsch) e mais alguns humanos que questionam os motivos dos recém chegados do espaço serem dignos de confiança, lutarão para saber.

Não curti Elizabeth Mitchell fazendo a “Jack” abrindo aquele enorme e lindo olho azul, igual ao primeiro episódio de Lost. Mas a culpa não é dela. Também não gostei da correria inicial do episódio com alien chegando, filho da policial sumido, avião caindo, tudoaomesmotempoagora, mas aceito porque é episódio piloto e tem que mostrar logo pra que veio. Mas será mesmo que os espectadores de hoje exigem isso? Espero que essa correria diminua e que possamos conhecer melhor os personagens.

E Morena Baccarin, que se apresenta como Anna, a líder alien, com um inglês ótimo e falando português para sua terra natal, o Rio de Janeiro? Tudo bem que as imagens eram as mesmas do vídeo do Rio 2016, inclusive deixa eu perguntar, há um banco de vídeos, igual ao Google Images, que os produtores de filmes/seriados usam? Whatever, ela é linda e está muito boa como alien-gostosa-manipuladora.

Alright! For those of you who came along to Toronto today – way to go. You were well-behaved and it seemed like you enjoyed the show. I was most proud when you all shushed students from another school during a crucial scene! Yes!

If you were with us at Hart House, you might consider sharing your thoughts and feelings about the play. Did you like it? Did you have a favourite actor? A favourite moment (ie: Arjun being displaced by one of the actors)? Having seen the play, are you even more stoked to finish reading it? Dig deep, tell us what you really think. You are entitled to your own opinion, but please remember, if you are going to say you did not enjoy it, “It was boring” or “I didn’t understand the words”, are not good excuses. In the same vein, if you enjoyed it, saying, “It was good”, is not enough! Tell us EXACTLY why it was good!

Theres a time and season for everything and I think its either time for me to move on with my life and take the awesome change that I’ve been presented with or just stay stuck in this runt and not move at all.

Change is inevitable and I cant wait anymore, Im done,Im gonna take this as a sign and I’m going on. I think Im meant to be with Gary.. Ours will be the greatest love of all time.. Juliet who!!! Thats right bitch, except I dont really wanna die at the end, I’d rather enjoy the love, why do all great loves need to die at the end, ok not the love but the lovers.

The new version of V is designed to be a reboot, but tacking on the conventions of our current TV landscape calls attention to the familiarity of the concept. Of course a little of this is part-and-parcel of being a remake, and thus unavoidable, however, everything that is being ladled on top is also all too familiar. V feels like we’ve seen it all before because we have seen it all before. Literally.

This time around, the idea is, when 21st-century aliens invade, they will not come as warriors, but rather as marketing agents. They will invade via advertising, with pamphlets, white teeth, long legs and tight butts. And a subtle message of inclusiveness and the common good. Heck, the Visitors were even offering “universal health care” — red meat for TV talking head Chad Decker (Scott Wolf), if only he hadn’t compromised his morals in exchange for ratings. Blast!

 

It was clever to cast Morena Baccarin (ex-Inara, FIREFLY/Serenity) as Anna, the beautiful public face of the Visitors; Baccarin also played Adria, the beautiful public face of the invading Ori cult on STARGATE SG-1. And, well, the Visitors are practically setting themselves up as a cult, to the point of recruiting confused young people. Getting Laura Vandervoort, whose big break came playing the alien Supergirl…er, Kara on SMALLVILLE, for Lisa was another sly casting move, as was bringing aboard Joel Gretsch (as Father Jack), who knows a thing or two about alien abduction after starring on THE 4400. Oh, Alan Tudyk used to play Wash alongside Baccarin on FIREFLY. Gee, one begins to understand why everything feels familiar, even without seeing ALIEN NATION before or District 9 this summer.

Of course, that could be due to the clichés in the plotline: Morris Chestnut played a man with a mysterious past that comes back to haunt him just as he’s about to propose. And the FBI office investigating the case has a mole tipping off the bad guys, so our heroine — played by Elizabeth Mitchell, who has loads of science-fiction cred herself, thanks to her much-admired run as LOST’s Juliet — has to act as a lone wolf. That is, when she isn’t playing heroic single mom to surly teen Tyler, who has the requisite doofus best friend and a thing for comely newcomer Lisa. Zzzz… 

 

It will be interesting to see if the “resistance fighters” of the original production are treated like “terrorists” in the reimagining. Mitchell’s FBI agent was tracking a terrorist cell that turned out to be manned by V sleepers. Add terror to the idea that the aliens have been hiding among us for years using cloned human skin as masks, and the Cold War-era “They could be anywhere, they could be anyone”vibe might get a modern spin.

 

Chad was told, “Compromising one’s principles for the greater good is not a shameful act. It is a noble one.” So if you want to watch V as currently constituted, then that’s fine. It’s diverting enough. But don’t delude yourself into thinking it’s for the greater good; it’s actually more of a lowest common denominator. 

 

Contrast all this with STARGATE UNIVERSE, which takes some familiar ideas (It’s basically STARGATE crossed with STAR TREK: VOYAGER and a dash of LOST IN SPACE) and mashes them up into something greater than the sum of its parts. All SGU did was add a bunch of interesting character conflict, and really think about its premise; what’s really powerful and interesting about it? Then the-powers-that-be wrote good stories around those characters and ideas. Simple, right?

 

Simple as A-B-C. But can ABC pull it off with V?

Juliet é um grupo pop formado em 2009 por três jovens modelos: Hami, Maiko e Yumi. Após terem lançado o seu segundo single “Fuyu Love”, agora as Juliet estarão lançando hoje, dia 04 de novembro, seu primeiro álbum debut, simplesmente intitulado “Love”.

O álbum conterá 10 faixas no total e incluirá as faixas principais dos dois singles lançados pelo grupo. O álbum estará disponível em várias versões: uma limitada CD+DVD que incluirá o PV e making of de “Fuyu Love”, uma versão especial apaneas com CD que eles chamam de “mirror edition”, além de uma versão regular CD.

“Fuyu Love” é o segundo single delas lançado em 07 de outubro, a música na minha opinião é muito boa, o clipe é razoável, não vi nada demais, nota 3/5.

“Natsu Love” é o single debut das Juliet lançado em 05 de agosto, e como foi dito acima, a música fez um enorme sucesso e ficou em primeiro lugar no chaku-uta. A música é excelente mesmo, muito bonita e tal, o PV também achei mais ou menos, portanto nota 3/5.
