Take a COLD Shower Supercharge Your Metabolism: 5-Minute Deep Freeze By taking a cold shower anywher

Take a COLD Shower

Supercharge Your Metabolism: 5-Minute Deep Freeze

By taking a cold shower anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes, you can jumpstart your metabolism. That’s because cold temperature activates brown fat, the fat-burning fat tissue in your body that burns energy to keep you warm. When taking a cold shower, you may experience some shivering, which indicates that you’re using energy to keep your body temperature up.

Try taking a quick shower in the morning or night. Start with 2 minutes of warm water to get your body temperature up, then switch to cold and work toward keeping the water temperature under 60 degrees. Over time, your body will become less sensitive to this drop in temperature. Happy Freezing!

Questions:

1. What do you think, is it worth a try?

Not for me, I can’t stand to feel cold, the main reason I get in the shower is to warm up. Another advantage to a cold shower is it’s alot less harsh on your skin then a hot one.

There’s a lot of foods that can help promote fat-loss….. these are just 5 of my favorite

There’s a lot of foods that can help promote fat-loss….. these are just 5 of my favorites:

1.) EGGS! – Eggs get a bad rap but they are packed with protein which your body has to work hard (burn more calories) to digest and since you usually eat eggs in the morning, it’s a great way to jumpstart your metabolism. (GEEK ALERT! – The B12 in eggs is said to aid in the destruction of fat cells.)

2.) BEANS! - Not only do beans provide the body essential amino acids and proteis, but the fiber in beans is also an effective aid in preventing your body from absorbing fat while simultaneously increasing your body’s ability to absorb more of the nutrients from the foods you eat.

3.) OATMEAL! – Oatmeal is an awesome fat burne. It fills you up BIG TIME and keeps you full for a good long while. A lot longer than that crappy “breakfast bar” you’ve been eating. What’s even cooler is that it doesn’t cause an insulin spike so your body doesn’t flip out and start storing fat. And as if fat burning weren’t enough, oatmeal has been proven to help lower bad cholesterol.

4.) PEPPERS! – Kick it up a notch! I like spicy food but I like even better since I know how your body reacts to it – it can speed up your metabolism up to 25%! That means by eating a meal with a little ‘kick’ to it, you’re burning more of the calories your consuming at that meal.

Use it to your advantage – not as an excuse.

5.) TUNA! – Tuna speeds up your metabolism by lowering leptin. This helps your body burn fat faster and more efficiently. It also has a ton of protein which helps the development of lean muscle tissue which helps you BURN EVEN MORE FAT.

OTHER: Close to the top 5 are turkey, chicken, and green tea. Turkey and chicken are both super lean and are packed with protein. Lot’s of protein AND low calorie? I’m in! Green tea isn’t a ‘food’ of course but it’s one of the best fat burners there are. Check out the archives for a post and video I did on green tea benefits about this time last year.

‘Til Next Time!
