So… we’ve got the wind at our backs, we’re holding onto our hats, here’s the week ahead beginning Sunday, April 3^rd, 2011…

Well, we’re continuing on with our powerful time of change and transformation this week with the Aries New Moon connecting with and activating six planets also in Aries – including retrograde Mercury – and the Jupiter/Saturn opposition, joins with Jupiter in Aries and opposing Saturn in Libra.  Fiery forward moving Aries is packed with Mars and Uranus at 1 Aries, Sun Moon at 13 Aries, Jupiter at 15 Aries and retrograde Mercury, not to be forgotten, at 23, Aries.  Action may seem unavoidable now – but we do need to double check our plans and lists before we leap into action!

Plus, to add even more power to this week Pluto is turning retrograde – and Neptune will be making a rare sign change, too, moving into his own sign of Pisces for the first time in 165 years.  And the last time he changed signs was when he moved into cerebral Aquarius about 14 years ago.  So, watch for a preview of things to come now!  Things will be changing – and they’ll be softer.

Also, just a couple days ago on Friday, April 1^st, Mars entered Aries where he’ll be traveling through May 10^th.  Now, Mars in Aries is all about action – but Mercury retrograde is about stopping or at least slowing down.  It really is somewhat like a fist-fight meets tug of war.  And we’ll have passion and want to take risks – however, if we can funnel this over-the-top energy into a focused goal, we’ll definitely have better results that suit us!

And so, the first piece of big astrological news for us happens on Sunday, April 3^rd with April’s New Moon. While this New Moon is offering us a powerful sense of drive and new hope, with those six planets in Aries at this moment, and connecting with the push-me-pull-you energy of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition, we need to be ready for newness AND challenges.

Plus adding to the power-theme today, we also have a Mars-Uranus conjunction in Aries, AND a Sun-Saturn opposition.  This is a highly volatile combination of planets and aspects.  We should be ready for unstable and unpredictable outcomes today – and actually for the next couple of weeks.

Then on Monday, April 4^th, Neptune enters Pisces.  After traveling for the last 14 years in independent, freedom-loving Aquarius, Neptune moves into his own sign – for the first time in 165 years.  This is a major astrological event.  Neptune in Pisces will bring a much softer, more mystical energy to us.  Spirituality and inspiration will be in the air.  Unconditional love and compassion will come to the fore in all our lives.

Then on Wednesday, April 6^th, the radiant Sun will join with Jupiter, and still in forward-moving Aries – and we’ll be supported in taking action on our plans and projects.  We’ll likely be feeling expansive and full of enthusiastic excitement.  For best results, we should look at taking advantage of this vitality-filled energy by taking part in some high-energy actions!

 
Then, more big news for us – on Saturday, April 9^th, Pluto turns retrograde until September 16^th – and the Sun and Mercury are also conjunct.

The Sun-Mercury aspect will ignite our minds and thoughts and we’ll be able to find immediate solutions to reach desired outcomes.  Learning, education and communications of all kinds will also be favored.  Also, however, Pluto standing still in the sky before he makes his move to retrograde motion, will give us a deeper understanding and insight to any old repeating patterns that have served their purpose in our lives – and are now ready to be released.

While these two planetary configurations may seem like just more push-me-pull-you energy, they actually can work hand-in-hand and propel us to new conscious and soulful understandings.

This would be a day – and week actually – to stay alert to shifts and changes in our world, personally and collectively.

Now… this week, I want to talk about just how each sign may experience this very potent and fiery New Moon in Aries…  Last week’s SkyeWatch gave a forecast for each sign for Mercury retrograde if you’d like to go back and read or listen to that.  And as always, this will apply to your Sun sign and Ascendant/Rising sign if you know it…

Aries

This Aries New Moon is about renewal and reinvention of YOURSELF!  Newness is all around you now and you have big opportunities to make changes in your personal life!  Go for it!

Taurus

You might be feeling a need to step back and recharge.  Allowing yourself time for dreaming and drifting could be just the thing that opens new doors in just a couple of weeks.  Give yourself the space.

Gemini

Friends and associates could bring you fresh energy and fresh ideas.  You may also discover new hopes and dreams have been lurking in the corners of your life.  Don’t be afraid to try something new.

Cancer

Your career and professional life may take center stage for you.  New fresh opportunities could present themselves.  Try a new approach and use this fiery new energy that’s here for you.

Leo

So… we’ve got the wind at our backs, we’re holding onto our hats, here’s the week ahead beginning Sunday, March 27^th, 2011…

Well, this week we’ve got more dramatic energy shifts … Venus will be showing us her softer side as she’s just moved into dreamy Pisces.  However, this week we’re also looking at the Sun squaring off with Pluto – AND Jupiter facing off with Saturn.  And if that’s not enough, our little fleet-footed friend Mercury will be standing in apparent stillness as he begins another three-week retrograde cycle – basically at the same time that fiery Mars moves into his own sign of Aries – where he’ll be meeting up with explosive Uranus… whoa!

Plus, in this month of March we have two major outer planetary bodies changing signs – Uranus into Aries for the first time in 84 years – and next week Neptune moves into Pisces for the first time in over 150 years!  Neptune has been traveling through independent Aquarius for the last 14 years – so think back to ’96 or ’97 and see what shifted then, because it’s shifting again.  The wonderful thing here is that Neptune in his own sign of Pisces is the most spiritual placement of any planet/sign combination.  The veils are thinning now.  And deep soul connectedness is rising.

And we’re also headed into a powerful time next week with the New Moon in Aries which will connect with the powerful Jupiter/Saturn opposition… Pluto will be turning retrograde – and Neptune will be making his change, too.  Some good news – finally – is that we can expect the energy of inspiration, idealism and spirituality to arise with Neptune in Pisces… that’s a very good thing right about now, don’t you think?!

Much more about all of these coming attractions in the next SkyeWatch, but for now let’s take a look at the week ahead of us!

Now, we start off the week on Sunday, March 27^th, with luscious Venus moving into dreamily mystical Pisces where she’ll travel until April 21^st… This very delicious placement can bring us the possibility of enormous creativity, heart-centered love, and compassion.  Poetry – intentional or otherwise – can envelope us.  We’ll be feeling deeply now in watery Pisces and can experience love and beauty, inspiration and harmony.  We’ll be letting our emotional barriers down now and feel a deep connection to those we love – and actually to all that’s around us. We can strengthen the bonds of our relationships now, and move from Venus’s travel through friendship-oriented Aquarius to the soul connection of Pisces.  We’ll be feeling more than talking now – and allowing our hearts to open will be a very good thing.

Artists of all kinds, writers, musicians, and craftsmen, will be in a magical element.  We’ll want to allow ourselves to be receptive on a soul level, but not give away the farm!  We may feel so open-hearted and compassionate that we can be vulnerable to disappointment in others, or outright deception.  So, we should be open – but not foolish!  Beautiful music, art, and soft sensual moments will be just the healing touch we’ve been needing and waiting for… Fortunately, this energy will be around us till April 21^st… because the rest of the week, starting with Monday, March 28^th, can be more than a little challenging for us.

And on Monday, March 28^th, Jupiter in Aries will oppose Saturn in Libra – AND the Sun in Aries will square off with Pluto in Capricorn.

Think of all this energy as essentially a tug of war between the giant expansive, freedom-seeking Jupiter, and careful, responsible, and powerfully determined Saturn.  This is another one of those ouch moments.  Something has to give.

And remember, these two giants are part of the group that made up the Cardinal Cross, or Cardinal climax that we experienced last August, 2010, and we can expect it to be drawing in some of that Cardinal Cross energy again.   Fortunately, this is the final passage of this transit, but during this period of time we’ll probably be faced with using what we learned last year.  We may find ourselves needing to reorganize – essentially and finally – so that old doors can be broken down and new opportunities can be allowed to come into our lives.   And it’s possible that things could get turbulent, disorderly, confused, and a little chaotic, especially if we haven’t done our homework.  The wake-up call could be kind of rude – but ultimately it’s bringing newness and good to our lives!

And with the Sun squaring off with Pluto on the same day, this is NOT the day to force any issue that we don’t absolutely have to.  If we butt our heads into a brick wall, we can probably already guess who’ll win…  We can, however, feel deeply determined to succeed.  And we can.  But for today, it will be to our benefit to take a deep breath – and wait for a better moment to act.

And then, on Wednesday, March 30^th, Mercury begins his retrograde cycle, also in fiery, impulsive Aries, until April 23^rd… When Mercury is retrograde its typically a better course of action just to rethink, rehash, reflect, and tie up old loose ends – than beginning new endeavors.  And it’s also a perfect time to research, review, repair, revise, and reassess – any of the “re-“ words work here!  We should also be flexible in our schedules and travel, re-read all the fine-print, leave lots of time for “re-scheduled” appointments – and if at all possible, avoid signing contracts, buying big-ticket items, especially vehicles and computer equipment – and put off significant decisions until after Mercury returns to direct motion.  Actually, I’d wait about a week or so after the exact date Mercury turns direct.  Of course, life doesn’t always comply with our – or Mercury’s – schedule, so we should absolutely live our life – just be sure to keep the receipts and phone numbers handy!   And with Mercury in aggressive Aries, we should also be prepared for the unexpected to bolt into our lives with more than a little speed.

Then on Friday, April 1^st, sizzling Mars will move into blazing Aries, until May 11^th…and our thoughts, feelings, and plans will be sizzling, too!  Passion, enthusiasm, and assertiveness will be hard to contain for the next few weeks.  Coupled with Mercury retrograde in Aries, however, we may need to be especially alert to that fast, forward, impulsive energy – and NOT give in to rash actions – might not be easy for us to do either!   We CAN make this time work, though, if we can focus the energy into a goal we’re passionate about!  We’ll be courageous and brave now….  No recklessness though!  And NO SPEEDING!  Retrograde Mercury just loves to give out speeding tickets!

And finally, on Saturday, April 2^nd, romantic Venus with form a 60 degree aspect of opportunity with deep, intense Pluto, and our close relationships can go deeper, and become more authentic.  And our creative natures can take a powerful turn.  We should also be alert and watch for opportunities to come to us from hidden or unexpected sources, and be ready to take full advantage of them!

An ancient Chinese proverb says, “May you live in interesting times” – and we’re certainly doing that!  Wouldn’t you say?!

Now… this week, I want to talk about just how each sign may experience this very powerful Mercury retrograde… and as always, this will apply to your Sun sign and Ascendant/Rising sign if you know it…

Aries

Your personal life is up for a re-think. Adjustments to your Self, your beliefs – even your appearance may arise.  Don’t be hasty in making changes in your personal life.  Take your time and consider all angles carefully.

Taurus

Secrets may be discovered or revealed.  Don’t act immediately on any new information.  Think it through first.  And you may also find people returning to you from somewhere in the past for review or re-examination.

Gemini

Friends or groups may cause or bring misunderstandings.  Communicate clearly with friends and associates to avoid unnecessary disagreements.  You may also find old friends or associates from the past returning to your circle.

Cancer

You may find yourself rethinking your career direction.  Just think about it for now.  Act later on!  And also be sure to speak clearly and concisely with superiors and co-workers to avoid creating problems that may need to be cleared up later.

Leo

There could be some unexpected opportunities presented to you for travel or learning.  But be sure to double check plans, especially when traveling.  You may find yourself reconsidering creative goals that have been on your wish list.

Virgo

Matters related to joint income, taxes, inheritances or other people’s money could return for another look.  Consider offers carefully.  Read any fine print and, if you can, wait before making any decisions about finances, especially if they involve others.

Libra

Take extra care with communications with partners – an issue you thought was resolved may resurface for re-consideration and re-examination.  Think carefully before you speak or make demands on people close to you.

Scorpio

Your work or daily routine may feel a little confused or unstable for these few weeks.  Stay flexible.  You may also find yourself rethinking or reconsidering your job – or your health habits.  And this is a great time for research for you!

Sagittarius

Someone from the past may make a return appearance!  And it may cause you to re-think what you do for pleasure.   Don’t make any wild and crazy, harebrained decisions right now.  Think things through carefully!

Capricorn

Misunderstandings around home can be lessened by communicating very clearly and specifically.  Family members could be confused or confusing to you – or you to them!  Tread softly – and avoid signing documents relating to your home or real estate if you can.

Aquarius

Your mind could be working overtime.  And dealings with neighbors, friends or siblings may snarl.  Speak carefully.  Make sure you’re saying what you really mean to be saying.  And make sure your vehicle maintenance and computer backup is up to date!

Pisces

Payments may be delayed, but you may also re-consider a possible new source of income! Think before spending and/or making any new financial decisions.  Things will unsnarl surprisingly and remarkably in just a few weeks.

May is actually a fairly quiet harmonious month.  The Cosmos seems to be providing a lull before the storm (T squares/Cosmic cross)  of June 26^th, and then the cosmic cross in August.

The big event of May is on the 23^rd – it’s almost like an election day, but this one is once in 20 years.  Having said that, empowered by a full Moon the move on the 28^th of Uranus into Aries for the next 7 years brings with it significant and far reaching changes.

May 7^th sees Venus sextile Mars, so whether it be love or money, business as usual is good.  Satisfaction is almost taken for granted.

As mentioned earlier, Mercury turns direct late on the 11^th, so the misunderstandings and communication glitches of the past weeks should start to iron themselves out.

On the 17^th, Venus Squares Jupiter and an inclination to overdo things beyond their diminishing returns is fuelled by the desire to get things just right. One more added touch, just another taste, try it once again….  Sometimes less really is more, even if it doesn’t seem like it, so backing off may save you both time and money.

The 18^th and Sun Sextiles Jupiter.  Modest plans succeed as long as no one rocks the boat.   Venus Squares Saturn and whittling away at your needs too insistently may only serve to magnify them and force a spiralling return to an over tapped well.  Later in the day Venus Trines Neptune  so getting creative and dreaming up new joys and pleasures comes with ease.  There are plenty of others playing in that sandbox, so share and share alike. Spiritual and material pleasures do not need to conflict, but easily go hand in hand for self-satisfaction and the benefit of all.

Next day, the 19^th and Sun Trines Saturn.  There’s a pleasure in feeling well-grounded, and this moment would make a firm foundation for whatever you choose to build upon it. If your plans are already made, it’s time for the cornerstone to be laid.  Also, Sun Squares Neptune so deceits and deceptions are hard to separate from honest mistakes and confusions. It’s easy for everyone to get into a tangle over misperceptions that waste time and energy, so just let it lie ‘coz you need to be on a solid foot.  In the evening Mercury Trines Pluto so whenever you’ve got figured something out, run with it and everyone will follow.  Venus then Squares Uranus so one experiment leads to another, and the further you push your tastes, the less they seem to satisfy. If you can’t seem to get what you want, you may well be happier with simpler fare.

The 20^th starts with Venus moving into Cancer.  There’s a bit of an inward shift in what people are asking for, and things may get very up-close and personal for a few weeks. It’s about must-have, keeping and devouring what’s to be had. That can find some folks fighting for scraps, but get your hands on what you want and the pleasure’s to the bone.  In the evening Sun sextiles Uranus.  Sometimes you can see just as well with a flashlight as with a floodlight, especially if you are examining something small. Simple solutions are often the most ingenious, and it’s often the household gadget that makes most inventors rich. Small and clever is the order of the day.

On the 21^st Sun enters Gemini signifying a month which promises a lot of heightened communication – at least that is the general expectation.  Expect to hit a chord if you say more rather than less. Intellectual solutions abound, but that may be simply to paper over what’s being ignored underneath. Keep options open, however, as you never know which sound bite is going to wind up the winner and hit home to the truth.  Hmmmmm!!!

The 22^nd and Sun Squares Chiron, suggesting some self inflicted pain.  Reassuringly it will just be part of the learning curve which is life.

The 23^rd hosts a once in 20 years event as Jupiter exactly opposes Saturn. This is a generational aspect which always witnesses a major social and economic struggle between the new and the old, the traditional and the radical.  Both sides spar and harden against each other. Prejudices increase, along with paranoia and general fear of the unknown, leading many to cling to false idols and defend or advance them dangerously. This is the moment we have to choose one and leave the other behind. Where you can find that which is right and sound, you will be elevated above the petulance to a brighter and happier future.

Next day on the 24^th Venus opposes Pluto, so you can’t always get what you want, and that may be a general problem about now, with blockages and stumbling blocks around as people try to reach their goals despite resistance. Expect some grumbling and frustration and don’t bet on deadlines being met on time.

On the 28^th, another long term change, as Uranus enters assertive Aries from gentle Pisces.  Over the next seven years discoveries are increasingly made by forcing the issues. Breaks and discontinuities seem to come from out of the blue, even though they have been gestating for some time. Belief systems around you change radically at sudden shear points, revealing the obvious only after the fact, leaving the most aggressive in charge.  Hmmmmm again!!!  As if to emphasise the importance of this change, it is immediately preceded by a full Moon in Sagittarius.  This “Honey” Moon may see the situation more frenetic than the usual full Moon. Talk is cheap because there’s too much of it, and truth is dear because everyone claims to be telling it. Your challenge is to ride the tide of tale-telling and separate the fish story from the one that really got away. There’s a drop of truth in every concoction, however, and if you can find it, that will be your reward for the trip. All that glitters is not gold, but what is you can take to the bank.

On the 30^th, Saturn, which has been slowing in its retrograde path, halts, looks around before starting again in its forward motion and repeating the lesson it travelled backwards for.  Will we listen and learn I wonder?

The day after on the 31^st Neptune, planet of dreams and visions which has been grinding to a halt, stops before turning retrograde.  Could this be for a repeat in order to show us which dreams are realistic, and which are not?
