Light Heavyweight

-Simply put, Matt Hamill struggles against good dynamic strikers. Well, they don’t come any more dynamic than Jon Jones. He has the stand up as well as the defensive wrestling to ward of any takedowns should “The Hammer” go to his wrestling base.

Roy “Big Country” Nelson (13-4) vs Brendan Schaub (4-0)

Heavyweight

Solid bet

-Experience will play a key factor in this fight. Big Country is well rounded and dangerous on the feet or the ground. The finale always brings us good fights with both finalists wanting that contract so bad. Schaub will bring a good game and fight until the end, but won’t have an answer for Nelson’s ground control and weight advantage.

Prediction: Nelson by Decision

Frankie “The Answer” Edgar (10-1) vs Matt Veach (11-0)

Lightweight

-A dangerous fight to put $ on. Edgar is expected to win and is a -465 favorite.  2 things to consider: 1) Veach is undefeated and 2) Veach is moving down a weight class and will be a huge lightweight. Edgar should have the wrestling credentials to take control of this fight even though Veach is out of Matt Hughes’s hit squad gym. The problem is if Veach does get a takedown and good top control, Edgar has no answer. He had no plan B when he was taken down by Gray Maynard in his only loss. Iffy on this one.

Houston “The Assassin” Alexander (9-4) vs Kimbo Slice (3-1)

215lb catch weight

-Houston Alexander may be the technical version of Kimbo Slice. That being a power striker with no ground game. Not a good style match for Kimbo. Alexander has excellent inside power and leg kicks from the outside. Kimbo isn’t the best at defending kicks. Kimbo’s weight cut has also been rough.

Prediction: Alexander by KO

Marcus Jones (4-1) vs Matt Mitrione (0-0)

Heavyweight

-It’s hard to believe that Mitrione can go 3 rounds and not get submitted by a fighter with a ground game like Marcus Jones. Jones doesn’t have a good chin or good stand up, and Mitrione hits hard, but after Jones weathers the storm Mitrione will slow down to his pace. Jones will use his patented clinch trip takedown and pass to side control like he always does for the win.

James McSweeney (3-4) vs Darrill Schoonover (10-0)

Heavyweight

-McSweeney had possibly the best stand up on this season of the show. Training with Greg Jackson his ground game has to have sharpened. Schoonover’s grappling is slower paced. Expect McSweeney toplay a smart game and work back to his feet every time the fight hits the floor.

Solid bet

-Justin Wren should have no trouble winning this. Madsen is little more than a wrestler. Wren will be able to win this fight by scoring points on the feet or with a sub on the ground.

Keep in mind that this is a 1 night tournament so “The Field” is not a bad choice. Some fighters are bound to get injured and not be able to continue to the next round after winning. Picking the field in a Japanese tournament is often a good choice. This time Peter Aerts is one of the reserve fighters and with 3 world titles under his belt, Aerts stands a chance to win this year especially if he can skip a round and be seeded directly into the finals against a tired opponent.

Tournaments offer fun odds and it’s best to split your money among the following:  Schilt and Bonjasky (who have the best chance of winning) Badr Hari, and The Field. Ruslan Karev is your long shot underdog choice if you like those odds.

Don’t pick Overeem or Lebanner to win the whole thing. Overeem will be stopped by someone and Le Banner’s arm is prone to being injured and keeping him from continuing even if he wins his opening match.

O melhor evento de trocação do planeta, já está com seu card definido e acontece no próximo dia 5 de Dezembro. O K-1 World GP chega a sua etapa final, reunindo grandes estrelas da luta em pé, como o brasileiro Eweton Teixeira, Alistar Overeem, Jerome Le Banner, Semmy Schilt. Esta edição do K- 1 promete manter o grande nível já conhecido pelo amantes da trocação.

Ewerton é graduado faixa preta 3, Dan de Karate no estilo Iza Gueri, e vem se destacando após derrotar LeBanner e faturar o GP do K-1 derrotando Keijiro Maeda na decisão dos juízes.

O comentarista Arthur Mariano montou uma análise sobre cada atleta e o favorito para cada combate, o evento será transmitido ao vivo pelo canal “Campeão” da Globosat.

 - Ruslan Karaev vs Badr Hari Ruslan Karaev:

Ruslan Karaev: é um atleta talentoso, teve grande momento no início da carreira no K-1. Passou por uma fase, onde foi nocauteado algumas lutas seguidas, e ficou um tempo fora dos ringues para recuperar a auto estima. Voltou a figurar entre os tops.
Badr Hari: é um atleta que talvez seja a grande revelação do K-1 nesses últimos dois anos. Vem conseguindo resultados importantes. Tem problema de desequilíbrio emocional, que custou o titulo das finais do GP de 2008, onde socou e chutou Remy Bonjasky.
Favoritismo: os dois atletas têm grande nível, mas Badr Hari tem um tempo de entrada de golpes melhor, tem mais força física. Não é estrategista, Hari vai para cima e dá tudo que tem, entra como favorito nessas quartas de finais.

 - Alistair Overeem x Ewerton Teixeira

Alistar Overeem: é um atleta que já luta Muay Thai há muitos anos na Holanda, mas só agora vem se destacando no K-1. Conseguiu uma vitória importante contra Peter Aerts para garantir a vaga nas finais. Vem com moral. Ewerton Teixeira: é o nosso único representante. Teve um crescimento muito rápido no ano passado, já no seu primeiro ano de K-1 já garantiu sua vaga nas finais do GP. Esse ano mostrou que tem regularidade e garantiu sua vaga mais uma vez nas finais do GP de 2009. 

Favoritismo: o brasileiro vem crescendo, mas vai pegar uma pedreira, pois Overeem tem um punch e força física maiores que do Ewerton Teixeira. O brasileiro tem o chute mais rápido que Overeem, e na velocidade existe um equilíbrio. O holandês entra com o favoritismo para essa luta.

  - Jerome Le Banner x Semmy Schilt

Jerome Le Banner: é considerado o rei sem a coroa. Faz parte da história do K-1, já bateu na trave duas vezes para ser campeão das finais. Vem conseguindo se manter quase todos os anos nas finais do GP. Já não é o mesmo lutador, perdeu a velocidade e a autoconfiança que tinha antes.

 Semmy Schilt: é casado com uma paulista e foi o grande nome do K-1 nos anos de 2005, 2006 e 2007, onde foi tri campeão consecutivo. Jamais um atleta tinha realizado esse feito. Mostrou saber usar sua altura de 2,12m, dificultando todos seus oponentes. No ano passado, Peter Aerts tirou a vaga de Schilt, e existe uma expectativa grande sobre a atuação dele nas finais.

Favoritismo: Banner tem o punch e a força física melhores, mas Schilt tem o chute e os joelhos melhores. Pelo histórico de Semmy Schilt, ele entra como favorito para esse combate.

- Errol Zimmerman x Remy Bonjasky

Errol Zimmerman: é um atleta que participou de muitas competição de Muay Thai na Holanda, teve sua maior chance no K-1 GP Amsterdam de 2008, quando foi o grande campeão da noite. Nesse mesmo ano, conseguiu a vaga para as finais do GP. A partir daí, começou a figurar entre os tops do K-1.

Remy Bonjasky: é o atual campeão e tri campeão do K-1 GP. Talvez seja o atleta mais estrategista do K-1, joga sempre no erro do oponente. No ano passado, simulou uma contusão numa indisciplina de Badr Hari para se tornar o campeão.

Favoritismo: os dois atletas têm um jogo parecido, força física, punch, deslocamento… A velocidade de Errol é um pouco melhor, e o chute e a estratégia do Bonjasky são melhores. Bonjasky entra como favorito para essa luta.

After rumors of a potential partnership were mixed in with reports of the organization’s potential demise, officials from World Victory Road’s Sengoku event series today announced they’ll join DREAM for a joint event on New Year’s Eve.

Originally, the Japanese-based organizations planned to hold competing shows.

The Dec. 31 event includes WVR’s would-be headliner of Satoshi Ishii vs. Hidehiko Yoshida, as well as the finale of DREAM’s Super Hulk tournament, and other MMA and K-1 bouts.

The event takes place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

NICE! As a huge follower of the Japanese MMA scene, I can’t begin to tell you how pumped I am for this event.  The Japanese always go out with a bang on New Years Eve, last year FEG’s Dynamite!! event was amazing, and now with Sengoku on board, it can only get even more fucking awesome.  I don’t know the details on the full fight card, alls I know is that only six fights have been confirmed:

• Minowaman vs. Sokoudjou (Super-Hulk Final)
• Masato vs. Andy Souwer (K-1)
• Satoshi Ishii vs. Hidehiko Yoshida (Battle of Judoka’s, MMA rules)
• Hiroya vs. Japan Masaaki Noiri (K-1 KOSHIEN semifinal)
• Katsuki Ishida vs. Shota Shimada (K-1 KOSHIEN semifinal)
• Tsukasa Fuji vs. Ryuya Kusakabe (K-1 KOSHIEN semifinal reserve)

I can only hope for some epic freakshow fights, hopefully a bunch of lightweight battles between DREAM and Sengoku, and maybe a couple of title defenses from both organization’s champions.  Needless to say, if you’re a fan of MMA and you don’t watch this, you’re wrong!

• Jerome Le Banner: fisico statuario, esperto , ottimo combattente ma negli anni sembra che non si sia evoluto , forte di braccia , non ha molto senso tattico ed e’ un po’ debole di mascella (per me): outsider.
• Semmy Schilt: Forse il meno amato ed il meno bello da vedere, ma negli ultimi anni ha sempre vinto escluso contro Peter Aerts, con i suoi 214 cm per me e’ ancora lui l’uomo da battere, il mio favorito.
• Errol Zimmerman: bravissimo ma nulla di piu’: outsider
• Remy Bonjasky: campione uscente, gran fisico, molto migliorato e’ ormai un fuoriclasse completo…….puo’ vincere…

Ovviamente il vincitore potrebbe essere uno qualsiasi di questi fighters mi limito semplicemente a dare le mie modestissime interpretazioni.

RUSLAN KARAEV: Giovane, veloce atletico completo anche se poco “tattico” mantiene il vizio di attaccare sempre e comunque. Difficile abbia serie chanches…non e’ un vero peso massimo (188 cm se non sbaglio) si trovera’ davanti l’emergente per molti favorito Badr Hari, sempre piu’ motivato e completo che sfiora i 2 metri.

Badr Hari: se il K-1 e’ una specialita’ a se Badr Hari teoricamente non avrebbe rivali, ma inaspettatamente (per me) Alistair Overeem ha dato una bella lezione a lui e a Peter Aerts quindi non si puo’ dare nulla per scontato. E’ il piu’ motivato il piu’ giovane il piu’ emergente , difetto maggiore: paradossalmente anche se e’ 197 cm non ha la struttura fisica di un supermassimo (+100 kg), per me e’ tra i 3 favoritissimi.

Aliastair Overeem: teoricamente non c’entra nulla, ma gli olandesi sanno fare un po’ tutto e’ questo ragazzo fisicamente superdotato ha surclassato Badr Hari e Peter Aerts………per me anche lui uno dei 3 favoriti.

Ewerton Teixeira: Brasiliano emergente fortissimo come gli 8 che sono arrivati fin qui ma secondo me non ha “quel qualcosa in piu’” per vincere: outsider

Saranno trattati tutti gli aspetti tecnici, tattici, la gestione dell’insegnamento, la gestione degli atleti dilettanti e professionisti, i regolamenti ufficiali, il primo soccorso, la fisiologia, preparazione atletica e condizione psicologica.
Una sezione del corso sarà inoltre dedicata alla nostra esperienza nelle discipline da ring, come promoter, e tratteremo il come organizzare una gara eccc..
Inoltre gestione di una società sportiva (asd), formazione della stessa, gestione fiscale e gestione soci, assicurazioni ecc..

 Deşi snopit de Semmy Schilt în “Final 16″, Daniel Ghiţă a lăsat o impresie bună publicului asiatic şi boss-ilor K-1 prin faptul că s-a străduit şi a reuşit să termine meciul în picioare, aşa că va fi totuşi prezent în Gala finală a K-1, care se va desfăşura pe 5 decembrie la Yokohama. Mai mult, va lupta într-un meci de rezervă, nu într-un super-fight, aşa că, teoretic vorbind, ar avea chiar şanse să ajungă pe tabloul principal.

 Ce-i drept, pentru asta ar fi nevoie nu numai ca Ghiţă să câştige meciul cu Chalid “Die Faust” Arrab (lucru nu neapărat foarte dificil), dar şi ca doi dintre luptătorii de pe tabloul principal să se accidenteze. Asta din cauză că primul meci de rezervă al serii îi are ca protagonişti pe turcul Gokhan Saki şi “nemuritorul” Peter Aerts.

 Oricum, prin această decizie a K-1, Daniel Ghiţă a făcut pasul în lumea bună a circuitului. Demonstrând, dacă mai era nevoie, că nu victoriile obţinute cu arbitrul în galele Local Kombat sunt cheia spre o carieră la vârf în kickboxing. Ca să zicem aşa, cam toată lumea ar trebui să se fi lămurit acum că o înfrângere onorabilă cu Schilt valorează mult mai mult decât o victorie dubioasă cu “pensionarul” Mighty Mo.
