I really like this QuickPress blog feature, as it makes it real neat to quick throw a blog say, right in between two boring conferences (where you can write about how boring the past conference was!), and under the Tags, you need to place commas instead of enter.

Thanksgiving has come and gone for us Canucks, but for those of you who are in mad preparation (or perhaps procrastinating on it- that would be my choice! ) for the upcoming American holiday, here is a compilation of Thanksgiving-type recipes that we have posted.

Heh.  In yesterday’s pre-W(aL)D Wendy’s repost, it linked to a thread on PittsburghBeat.com which in turn linked to another old thread about Kmart which eventually came to a nice conclusion.  These weren’t listed in my older pre-W(aL)D post… so I thought I’d share them individually.

There are some other great area Kmarts, like the one in Robinson, and even the one in Bridgeville… but this one is closest to my house… What the heck is wrong with everyone who works there? Don’t they take any sort of pride in the store? Don’t the managers see what’s going on, how the store looks, how the employees behave… and why don’t they care??? I just can’t even fathom being a cashier, and not greeting people… or even acknowledging their presence. And, I can’t fathom a shift, store, or regional manager that would a. hire someone like that (let alone dozens like that); and b. let that kind of behavior slide. ***I was unable to call the customer no phone number, I did sent notification.**

I found this to be a fairly positive response.  I can’t imagine trying to manage a group of people who generally do not care.

Well readers, it’s once again time for a Photography Contest.  As most of you probably know, my daughter is taking a homeschool photograpy class.  They’ve held 2 previous contest on the topics of “Reflections” and “Strength”.  Miss K placed 2nd in both of those contests.  The new contest is “Faith”.

I usually don’t tell you which photo is hers.  I like for my readers to decide on their own.  This time, many of the kids had similar things in mind.  I’m going to tell you which photo number is hers, but I still expect you to look at all of them and vote for the best.  She wouldn’t be happy if she won because Momma’s friends and readers voted just because of that.  That said, her photo is #7.

Our home school photography class is having another contest. The winner of the last contest (entry #1 – Kathryn Patterson who took the picture of the cross)
chose “FAITH” to be the topic for this contest – so the new topic is FAITH.

And for those of you who aren’t familiar with our class – it’s a home school photography class and we have students
from age 11 on up. We’ve been working hard and learning a lot – but for the most part – it’s a beginner’s class and most students
have the bare minimum when it comes to equipment. I am, however, seeing big improvements in their work.

And – we have a success story! Jenifer Patterson recently got her tax number and business license and is accepting appointments
for portrait sessions. She has done a couple of Santa sessions, a pet portrait session at Just 4 K-9’s and she has another one
coming up! She’s doing a great job! Congratulations on your success Jenifer!

Hannah Smart has also learned to do selective color and I am very proud of her for that. She’s doing a great job both in class
and on her own. She’s very creative and it shows in her work.

Claro, eu tinha que postar , o dia foi bom demais pra nao postar . Cara , eu juro pra voces que tenho uma sacola amarela que é magica SEM BRINKS , eu tipo perguntei pra sacola do franz e ele apareceu, pedi pra sacola pra encontrar alguem conheçido na rua ( é sim, depois que o franz apareçeu eu resolvi testar a sacola  ) e tipo eu encontrei o breve na rua e ele foi comigo até o ingles. minha sacola é melhor que a de voces morram de inveja lalalala.

na verdade eu nao ia postar sobre isso, muito menos agora, eu ia postar de tarde com a giih, mas eu fui no aniverssário da amiga da minha mãe e dai lá no bar negociado nao tem pc né , dai fodeu e eu nao fiz nada.

Ja, jeg trenger hjelp!

Nøyaktig 1 måned til julaften og jeg har ikke gått til innkjøp av en eneste julegave enda og nå har jeg fått beskjed av kjæresten min om å gi han noe som betyr noe eller noe jeg har laget selv.

Hva kjøper, unnskyld lager, man til gutter i julegave da? Han ville ikke at jeg skulle bruke en masse penger på den siden han nettopp har hatt bursdag, men da må jeg i gjengjeld gi han noe spesielt som jeg har brukt litt tid på.

Har gitt han de “vanlige” kjærestepresangene fra før som klokke, parfyme, smykker osv. Hva gir man til kjæresten sin når han ønsker seg noe spesielt, uten at det blir så sukkersøtt at han ikke vil vise det til kompisene sine?

Jamie says:  Happy Thanksgiving!  I attended a Thanksgiving potluck dinner this weekend where everyone brought a dish and dressed up as pilgrims and Indians.  It was a lot of fun and the food was delicious.  I had been thinking about making a graham cracker crust for weeks now, so I decided this was the perfect time to try.  I found a recipe for a blueberry pie and used the graham cracker crust recipe as a guide.  I really enjoyed the Publix fat free light key lime pie yogurt I tried recently, so  I was inspired to make a healthier key lime pie by substituting key lime pie filling for this tasty yogurt.  The filling was thinner than a typical key lime pie because I used yogurt, but I think it was worth it.  I received a lot of complements, so I guess my experimental pie turned out quite well!  Here’s the recipe: 

Preheat oven to 325°F.  Toast 1 cup walnuts in oven for about 6 minutes or until lightly toasted.  Coarsely chop walnuts.  Finely crush 10 graham cracker sheets (= 20 squares) in a ziplock bag.  Whisk 2 large egg whites in a medium sized bowl until frothy.  Add chopped walnuts, graham cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons Smart Balance Omega 3 spread, 2 tablespoons canola oil, and a pinch of salt to egg whites.  Blend until smooth.  Press mixture into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan.  Bake for 18 minutes.   Allow to cool completely.  Pour 3 six ounce containers of fat free light key lime pie yogurt (Publix brand) into the pie crust and spread evenly.  Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Nutrition note: Simple substitutions can add up.  To reduce the amount of calories and saturated fat in a recipe, try using a heart-healthy spread with no trans fats (like Smart Balance spread) instead of butter.

om jag råkar på K om vi får ett sista samtal till om en massa om så kanske jag nämner att jag kommenterat Bs blogg och så kanske jag ber K om att säga till B att gå in och läsa men då säger kanske K att B är gravid och ska ha barn snart och att hon inte borde störas med mina mörka hemligheter eller så säger hon något helt annat kanske frågar jag inte ens för kanske inser jag att K kanske blir nyfiken och går in på B:s blogg för att hitta hit och då läser hon denna blogg och allt jag har skrivit om henne och kanske vill jag inte att hon ska göra det

Men idag är inte allt så grått och trist som det kanske verkar. Idag blir saker gjorda. Idag är jag vän med orden. Idag gillar jag mörkret utanför mitt fönster. Musiken jag lyssnar på är perfekt. Jag myser och trivs.

Men nu är det dags att återgå till det som är konkret. Blir grönsakssoppa till middag.
