Hé oui c’est un problème. Quel que soit la marque il n’y a rien de génial, les Canon et le Lumix GH1 sont équipés de prises minijack mais imposible de voir le niveau, ni même de le contrôler.

A part utilsier le firmware alternatif “magic lantern” sur le 5D qui propose des vu-metres, rien n’est vraiment efficace. Pire encore la qualité des convertisseur est tellement médiocre que tout le monde est unanime . Donc même si vous greffez un bon micro sur votre appareil le son à cause du gain automatique et des convertisseurs médiocres ne sera pas vraiment utilisable pour une utilisation professionnelle. Le firmware alternatif open source Magic Lantern que je n’ai pas pu tester pour le moment propose de désactiver le gain auto, ce qui permet d’avoir à priori moins de bruit. Magic lantern

Je n’ai pas fait très original après avoir zieuté chez Sony, Tascam ou Edirol pour un enregistreur autonome, j’ai jeté mon dévolu sur le ZOOM H4N.

Ce petit boitier a la particularité d’enregistrer 2 ou 4 piste en simultané avec une qualité assez bluffante. Il possède des entrées Jack ou XLR et peut enregitrer simultanément une ambiance avec son couple de micro stéréo et une voix en simultané via un micro cravate par exemple. Il est équipé d’un pas de vis qui lui permet de prendre place sur une griffe porte accessoire.

Une astuce préconisé sur pas mal de site anglophones propose de relier la sortie minijack dans l’entrée du boitier reflex video. J’en propose une autre : il s’agit de lancer le rec sur l’enregistreur Zoom en premier,  et de filmer le timecode de l’écran avec votre HD-SLR préféré pendant quelques secondes au début de chaque prise. Une fois en montage avec final cut pro par exemple vous pouvez utiliser un timecode auxiliaire correspondant à celui du TC enregistré à l’image. et ensuite de faire une synchro … c’est assez simple et très efficace.

Ela será batizada de Cadenza, como o fabricante oriental já anunciou. Seu estilo moderno bebe da mesma fonte dos arrojados Cerato, Cee’d e Sorento. Em janeiro o K7 começa a ser vendido na Coreia. A partir de março, o Cadenza começa a chegar a Oriente Médio, Caribe, África e China.

A apresentação oficial do Cadenza acontecerá em dezembro, durante o Salão de Dubai, nos Emirados Árabes. O sedã sucederá o polêmico Opirus, que pecava justamente ontem o novo modelo se destaca: no visual. O três-volumes terá motores a gasolina, tração dianteira e câmbio automática sequencial de seis marchas. A potência dos propulsores varia entre 165 cv e 290 cv.

O acabamento tem alto padrão e os equipamentos se apresentam em grande número. Controles de estabilidade e tração, ar-condicionado automático, sistema de navegação, sensor de estacionamento e ar-condicionado automático são apenas alguns dos itens disponíveis. Há ainda teto solar panorâmico, iluminação do painel adaptativa e uso de LEDs nos sistemas de luzes.

Não se sabe ainda quando o modelo chegará à Europa e aos EUA, mas isto deve ocorrer no ano que vem, assim como no Brasil. Para o Velho Continente haverá um propulsor a diesel, enquanto os consumidores do Tio Sam receberão mudanças visuais para se adequar à legislação do país.

Ich hab ja zum Glück nie eine Scheidung erlebt, aber ich stelle sie mir so vor, wie die Erlebnisse der letzten Monate.
Die Eltern: Mediamarkt und ich, das Kind: Pentax K20D.

Ich muss euch vorwarnen, dass es einiges zu lesen gibt, aber falls ihr einen Erfahrungsbericht aus erster Hand wollt, seid ihr hier richtig.

Zwei Fehler an der Kamera störten mich mitte August: zum einen war die Datenübertragung per USB-Kabel zum PC defekt und produzierte Bildfehler und zum anderen fand sich auf dem CMOS-Sensor ein weiterer Bildfehler, der eine dünne Linie in die Mitte des Bildes und zwei Pixelfehler beförderte. Letztere beiden waren eigentlich nur in hohen ISO-Bereichen sichtbar, aber sie waren da und für mich bedeutete das Unzuverlässigkeit der Kamera.

Also entschloss ich mich, das Ding einzuschicken und reparieren zu lassen. Vielleicht hätte ich schon nach ein paar Wochen Druck machen können, dagegen sprach aber, dass Pentax selbst den Support umbaut (oder umgebaut hat?) und dadurch längere Wartezeiten entstanden und dass ich auch so genug um die Ohren hatte.
Nach rund zwei Monaten(!) war noch immer nichts Neues zu hören, also ging ich beim Mediamarkt-Service vorbei, um zu hören, ob etwas heraus gekommen ist. Der Mitarbeiter unterstützte mich in meiner Ansicht, dass es schon viel zu lang dauere und versuchte, etwas heraus zu bekommen. Später rief er mich per Telefon zurück und teilte mir mit, dass die Reparatur bei Pentax selbst nicht möglich sei und man eine Werkstatt beauftragt habe. Soweit so gut.

Wiederum einige Wochen (und Telefonate) später erhielt ich dann von Mediamarkt eine Mail mit Hiobsbotschaft: Die Reparatur sei nicht möglich, ich möge doch bitte samt Unterlagen in die Filiale kommen. Dort sagte man mir nochmal das Gleiche, jedoch keine Angabe von Gründen oder sonstiges. Stattdessen stellte man mir einen Beleg aus, ich dürfe mir oben in der Filiale ein Ersatzgerät aussuchen. Hier beschlich mich erneut ein ungutes Gefühl: was, wenn sie die K20D nicht da haben? Welche wollen sie mir stattdessen andrehen? Ich wusste, dass der Bereich an vergleichbaren Kameras zur K20D ziemlich dünn gesät ist.

Ich ging also in die Filiale und konfrontierte die unwissende Mitarbeiterin mit meinem Anliegen. Nach einem kurzen Gespräch stellten wir fest, dass keine der vorhandenen Kameras meinen Wünschen entsprach oder zu teuer waren. (Ich war nämlich nicht bereit, auch nur einen Cent zu bezahlen, nachdem ich solange warten musste – schließlich war es nicht meine Schuld, dass Pentax die Kamera nicht reparieren konnte). Die Verkäuferin stimmte zu und versprach, mir eine neue K20D zu besorgen.

Ganze zwei Wochen lang telefonierte ich und ging in den Laden, um herauszufinden, wann die Kamera denn endlich da sei, denn es tat sich nicht das Geringste. Bei einem Besuch schließlich kam der Abteilungsleiter hinzu, der anscheinend etwas besser informiert war: er sagte, die K20D sei nicht mehr lieferbar, man würde mir stattdessen die K7 geben. Über die wusste ich zu dem Zeitpunkt nichts. Ich kannte lediglich die Modellbezeichnungen der weniger ausgestatten Kameras von Pentax und da war keine K7 dabei.

Ich stimmte also zu. Später fand ich auf eigene Faust heraus, dass es sich bei der K7 um ein höherwertiges Gerät handelt, dass zwar nicht der direkte Nachfolger der K20D ist, aber sozusagen eine ausgereiftere Variante darstellt. Erneut war da dieses unangenehme Gefühl in der Magengegend. Grund dafür: Die K7 ist “brandneu” und kostet natürlich mehr als die K20D. Ich war mir unsicher, ob der Deal laufen würde, aber beruhigte mich immer damit, dass der Abteilungsleiter selbst sagte, man würde mir diese Kamera geben.

Es folgten wiederum drei bis vier Wochen, in denen sich nichts tat. Ich rief immer wieder bei Mediamarkt an und man versicherte mir, die Kamera “sollte bestellt sein”. Ich rief bei Pentax selbst an und erkundigte mich nach Lieferschwierigkeiten, was verneint wurde: “Bestellt jemand die K7 ist sie normalerweise am nächsten Tag da.” Mit der Aussage konfrontierte ich wiederum Mediamarkt, was wohl den Abteilungsleiter endlich dazu veranlasste, sich erneut damit zu beschäftigen. Er rief seinerseits bei Pentax an und fand heraus, dass der Pentax-Vertreter gedacht hatte, die Kamera sei schon verschickt worden. Zumindest ist dies die Aussage, die ich zu hören bekam. Die Bestellung wurde erneuert und es dauerte eine knappe Woche, bis das Gerät endlich im Laden war.

Man rief mich an, die Kamera sei da, aber….(mir fiel das Herz in die Hose) man könne sie mir nicht geben. Ich: Warum das denn? Sie: Es sei ein Bundle mit zwei Objektiven bekommen, ich bekäme laut Service-Zettel aber nur eines davon. (das hatte ich den Mitarbeitern übrigens immer wieder in Erinnerung gerufen – möglicherweise hätten sie das sonst überhaupt nicht gewusst). Ich verstand das Problem nicht, worin bitte soll die Schwierigkeit bestehen, ein Objektiv weg zu nehmen und mir den Rest auszuhändigen? Ich konnte ja selbst das überzählige Objektiv mitbringen, das ich noch hatte und wir hätten einen problemlosen Tausch vorgenommen. “Nein, wir können keine Bundles trennen, ich kann den Karton nicht aufmachen.”, erhielt ich zur Antwort.

Die Kamera war nach über einem Monat endlich da und ich durfte sie nicht bekommen. Die Mitarbeiterin bot mir an, ein neues Bundle zu bestellen, in dem nur ein Objektiv ist; Lieferzeit: ca. eine Woche. Ich lehnte entschieden ab, drängte darauf, das Problem Marktintern zu klären mit der Begründung, dass ich durch die Wartezeit nicht dafür büßen wollte, dass Mediamarkt zu blöd ist, die richtige Kamera zu bestellen. Sie gab auf und verwies mich an ihren Vorgesetzten, der jedoch erst am nächsten Tag wieder im Laden sein würde. Ich verabschiedete mich knapp und legte auf.

Am nächsten Tag musste ich den Abteilungsleiter meinerseits erneut informieren und bekam endlich meine erlösende Antwort: er wolle eine Umbuchung vornehmen, das Bundle auflösen und mir Kamera plus ein Objektiv geben. Warum nicht gleich so? Noch am selben Tag fuhr ich hin, um sie abzuholen. (Übrigens bin ich schon dreimal zuvor von Kassel nach Göttingen gefahren, um etwas – ohne Erfolg – zu erwirken) Als ich da war, geriet ich gleich an den Abteilungsleiter, dem ich meinen ursprünglichen Kaufvertrag und den Service-Zettel gab.

In diesem Moment fiel ihm – das könnte ich schwören – zum ersten Mal auf, dass der damals gezahlte Preis für die K20D unter dem für die K7 lag. “Ah ja,”, murmelte er vor sich hin, “da gibts ja ne Differenz.” Daraufhin rief er im Service an, um zu erfragen, wie er verfahren sollte. Anscheinend waren er und sein Mitarbeiter sich einig und so liess er die K7 aus dem Lager holen. Ich fragte ihn höflich, ob er mich auch darüber informieren würde, wie es läuft. Daraufhin antwortete er mir freundlich, dass die K7 ja deutlich teuerer sein würde und ich die Differenz bezahlen müsse.

Das wichtigste war jetzt, ruhig zu bleiben, doch ich spürte, wie meine Halsschlagader ausbrechen und den Mann erdrosseln wollte. Ich antwortete ihm freundlich, dass ich damit nicht einverstanden sei, schließlich erfahre ich in diesem Moment das erste Mal davon. “Ja, das ist aber klar, dass sie das bezahlen müssen, das haben wir ihnen sicher auch schon von Anfang an gesagt.” Ich lächelte eisig und versicherte ihm, dass dies nicht der Fall war und schilderte ihm fat wortgetreu das damalige Gespräch. Er runzelte die Stirn und wollte wissen, wer mir die K7 als Ersatz versprach, ohne die Tatsache zu erwähnen, dass ich für den Differenzbetrag aufkommen müsse. Ich freute mich auf die Antwort und gab sie ihm ohne zu zögern: er selbst war es. Er tat kurz entrüstet, meinte, das könne er sich nicht vorstellen. Ich versicherte ihm, dass es so war und nannte ihm eine weitere Mitarbeiterin mit Namen, die damals anwesend war. “Da müssen sie mich falsch verstanden haben, ich kannte den Fall ja gar nicht.” Stimmt, den kannte er nicht, doch ich hatte stets die Unterlagen dabei, hatte sie ihm damals angeboten, doch er hatte abgelehnt und mich auf einen Azubi abgeschoben. Hab ich ihm auch gesagt.

Mir ist der Typ total unangenehm. Das sind mir Menschen immer, wenn sie mit mir reden und mich dabei nicht ansehen. wir diskutierten rund 45 Minuten lang, bis ich ihm zwei Vorschläge machte: Entweder er nahm einen 1:1-Tausch vor, so, wie es mir als Kunde von Anfang an suggeriert wurde, oder er zahle mir den ursprünglichen Kaufbetrag in Bar aus. Der Gedanke dahinter: entweder nagele ich sie auf ihren Fehler fest, der durch scheinbare Unwissenheit entstanden war oder sie verlieren einen Kunden und ich gehe in einen Laden, in dem sowohl die alte K20D als auch die K7 vorhanden war. Diese Läden gab es, ich hab mich umgesehen. Der Abteilungsleiter plusterte sich auf, atmete tief durch und sagte mir zu beiden Vorschlägen, das könne er nicht machen. Ich hatte sein falsches Grinsen satt und verlangte mit jemandem zu sprechen, der das entscheiden könne. Also wurde ich an den Bereichsleiter verwiesen.

Dieser liess mich fast zehn Minuten warten, was ich höflich hinnahm und erklärte ihm dann nochmal den gesamten Fall von vorne. Er versuchte, sich in die informierte und überlegene Position zu begeben, indem er mir das Umtausch-System mit Kinderbeispielen erklärte á la “Sie können ja auch nicht einen Audi 80 gegen einen Mercedes S-Klasse tauschen.” Ich gab ihm ruhig und höflich recht und wies ihn dann darauf hin, dass sich seine lustigen Beispielchen schenken soll, wenn er mit mir redet; ich würde den Sachverhalt auch verstehen, wenn wir bei den Fakten blieben. Sein Gesicht zuckte kurz und er überging den Kommentar.

Er schlug mir vor, nocheinmal in die Foto-Abteilung zu gehen und zu schauen, ob ich die K7 tatsächlich bekommen kann, bzw. wie unterschiedlich sie zur K20D ist. Ich habe den Bereichsleiter nämlich darauf hinweisen müssen, dass die K7 keineswegs ein Mercedes S-Klasse ist und sich nur in wenigen Details von der K20D unterscheidet. Das war offensichtlich mehr Wissen als das, über das der Bereichsleiter verfügte. Ich geriet an den mittlerweile vierten Mitarbeiter, dem ich nun erklären musste, worin die Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten der beiden Kameras bestehen. Ich bin nicht sicher, ob ihm bewusst war, dass ICH der Kunde und ER der Verkäufer waren. Letztendlich musste auch er feststellen, dass die Unterschiede marginal waren.

Das Thema Barauszahlung war mittlerweile vom Tisch, dass das Mediamarkt nicht machen würde, hatten inzwischen drei Mitarbeiter ständig wiederholt. Ich hielt dagegen, dass ich genau wüsste, dass dies schon einmal vorgekommen sei. Man wollte wissen, wo und ich antwortete: “Hier, genau in diesem Laden” Interessanterweise wurde das sofort übergangen und nicht weiter diskutiert. Dennoch: ich war mittlerweile seit über zwei Stunden im Laden und wollte nicht mehr diskutieren.
Man machte mir schließlich die folgenden Vorschläge: Entweder, ich entschied mich für die K7 und bezahle die Differenz oder ich suche mir eine andere Alternative aus. Ich wollte mich über eine Alternative beraten lassen, doch unglücklicherweise förderte ich damit wieder die Inkompetenz des Verkäufers zutage, der mir kein vernünftiges Modell vorstammeln konnte. Ich wusste jedoch ganz genau, was die da rumstehen hatten: die billigen Einsteigerkameras, die sie für sagenhafte Preise verscherbeln konnten und eine halbe Hand voll ordentlicher Kameras, die sie für ebenso sagenhafte Preise verscherbeln wollten.

Die Sony-Alpha-Reihe mochte ich nicht; zu spielerisch, zu leicht, zu rund und vor allem: kein zweites Display auf der Oberseite. Die einzig attraktive Sony war die 850; allerdings mit Vollformat-Sensor für lustige 2.000 Euro. Auch die Nikon können mich nicht ganz begeistern. Ich kenne die D90 und fühlte mich bei der K20D schon wesentlich besser aufgehoben. Schließlich war da noch die Canon EOS 50D, die vergleichbar war, aber auch einige Unterschiede aufzuweisen hatte. Mit ihr hätte ich mich vertragen können, meine Freundin liebt die Canon-Kameras und das war mir ein aussagekräftiges Argument. Gegen die 50D sprach mein Pentax-Zubehör und die Benutzung von CF-Speicherkarten, die einiges teurer als SD-Karten sind. Darüber hinaus habe ich eine 8GB-SD-Karte, die auch nicht billig war und die ich gern weiter benutzen wollte.

Nach einer Bedenkzeit, zwei guten Gesprächen mit meiner Freundin und einem Bekannten, war die Entscheidung gefallen: Ich wollte nicht ohne eine Kamera dort raus und ich wollte die K7.
Also ging ich wieder zum Verkäufer und fragte ihn, was er an dem Preis machen könnte. Er schaute mich irritiert an und schien nicht zu wissen, was ich meinte. Ich erklärte ihm freundlich, dass der Preis, den Mediamarkt dafür veranschlagt für ein Bundle mit zwei Objektiven gedacht ist, ich aber nur eines wollte. Dann schlug ich ihm vor, über Kulanz nachzudenken – schließlich konnte ich ihm exakt drei Vorkommnisse nennen, bei denen ich eine Weiterentwicklung des Falles nur durch meine Beharrlichkeit erreichen konnte. Schliesslich nannte ich ihm eine vierstellige Zahl samt Kommabetrag für den dieselbe Kamera in einem anderen Laden erhältlich war.

Er wand sich, doch letztendlich hatte ich ihn um knapp 400 Euro heruntergehandelt. Dazu muss ich sagen: der Preis für die K7 bei Mediamarkt ist hoffnungslos überteuert. Die Kamera stand bereits mit Preis in der Vitrine, im System war jedoch ein niedrigerer Preis angegeben, daher meine unbedingte Empfehlung: findet heraus, was die Kamera wirklich kostet. Und noch eine Anmerkung: der Mitarbeiter holte die Kamera doch tatsächlich aus der Vitrine und es war das einzige Exemplar im Laden. Mit anderen Worten: wäre jemand vor mir gekommen, der die Kamera kaufen wollte, wäre sie weg gewesen.

Wir brachten das Geschäft zum Abschluss und ich verabschiedete mich mit dem Versprächen, dass diese Kamera das letzte Produkt war, dass ich in diesem Laden gekauft habe. An der Kasse dann geriet ich an eine Mitarbeiterin, die mich auf meinen Besuch ansprach; irgendwie wusste sie genau, wegen was ich da war und mit wem ich geredet hatte. Ich jedoch hatte die Kassiererin noch nie gesehen.

Und so ging eine langwierige Beziehung auseinander, die ganze vier Monate lang auf eine Scheidung hinaus ging: Mit Problemkindern, Streitereien, Dickköpfen und Inkompetenz. Ich musste der wohlhabenden Ex-Partnerin noch eine Abfindung bezahlen und ging mit einem Gefühl nach Hause, das keine Erleichterung sondern eher Frustration beinhaltete.

So, to get started about dpreview I’ll say that it is one of the biggest fanboy sites on the web. In this case, fanboys (including fangirls) are people who are in love with a certain brand or model of something and will promote and defend it way beyond what any sane person would do.

Some or all of them are probably paid by a manufacturer to be a shill (viral marketer) for their products and to attack and insult anyone who doesn’t say the absolute nicest things about that brand or model. Where dpreview comes in is that they allow and encourage the fanboys and will ban people who speak out against them.

Dpreview makes a lot of money from the manufacturers of the camera gear they review through advertising dollars and they also get free camera gear on loan from the manufacturers. Their so-called reviews are blatant examples of bias and favoritism and I’m sure it’s based on which manufacturer pays them the most or loans them the most gear. I wouldn’t be surprised if they take bribes too.

The dpreview forums are run by gangs of fanboys who viciously attack and try to silence anyone who doesn’t agree with them or blindly praise the brand or model they love and are promoting and defending, and especially Canon products, which are plagued with many inexcusable defects by the way. I think that dpreview may even pay some of the fanboys to help promote and defend certain products or to stir up controversy so that there are more hits on the forums, which generates more clicks for more advertising dollars. Either that or some (or all) of the fanboys could just be regular employees at dpreview.

Dpreview has a big monetary interest in promoting and defending brands and models so that interest in those brands and models is high and more people may go to dpreview and either click on the reviews or go to the forums. Of course people love to see a train wreck, which is just what the dpreview forums are, and the fanboys always seem to outnumber anyone who speaks realistically about brands or models and it makes it appear that the fanboys are always right.

The fanboys work hard to silence anyone who doesn’t agree that their beloved brand or model is the very best and dpreview will ban people who don’t submit and agree. dpreview also selectively deletes posts that reveal the truth about fanboys and camera gear.

If you go to the dpreview forums take a good look at how the fanboys argue endlessly that their beloved brand or model is perfect and way better than all other brands or models and they will use the most inane and nitpicky things to bolster their maniacal, idiotic claims. Fan comes from the word fanatic and it certainly applies to some of the people on dpreview, and especially in the Canon DSLR and lens forums.

If anyone says anything negative about a Canon product, even when it’s true, they are attacked as though they deliberately insulted the fanboy’s mother or kids. I think some of those fanboys value their cameras or lenses more than their mother or kids and that at least some of them sleep with their cameras or lenses and I really don’t mean sleep.

Fanboys must have very low self esteem to depend on owning or lusting after a camera or lens to make themselves feel like they’re important. Some of those people virtually live on forums, promoting and defending their beloved brand or model and rarely if ever take any pictures. They think that just owning or lusting after a certain brand or model will automatically make them a great and world renowned photographer.

If or when they actually do post pictures, the pictures are almost always junk, or mediocre at best. Many of them go on and on about how perfect and awesome a certain brand or model is but the next day they’re often asking which lens they should buy or which settings they should use for their vacation in Disneyland. Anyone who doesn’t know which lens or settings to use for certain things isn’t in a position to promote or defend any brand or model.

The dpreview forums are full of wannabe photographers whose self esteem is based on being in a brand or model cult. They have the cult, mob, gang mentality and dpreview encourages it by letting them stay and banning people who speak out about it.

dpreview is a joke, and I’m apparently not the only one who is figuring that out. Amazon bought dpreview in May, 2007. At that time dpreview had over 7 million unique visitors per month. Last month (OCT. 2009) they only had about 1.3 million even though new, popular cameras (to fanboys) were announced or released, which usually generates more hits on any camera review website. dpreview deliberately lies on their site and they still say that they get 7 million unique visitors every month.

They say: “These days the site is one of, if not the, premium digital photography site with an audience of seven million unique visitors a month..”

Un lien vers le Flickr d’une artiste que je trouve assez surprenante et créative.
Iri5, de son vrai nom Erika Iris Simmons,  est une américaine nostalgique de 25 ans passionnée par la musique, la pop culture et l’art en général, qui utilise principalement des matériaux non-conventionnels (vieux livres, K7, Cartes à jouer, cartes de crédit, magasines…) pour reproduire des photos, personnages ou symboles célèbres. Peintre et sculpteur aussi, ses œuvres sont utilisées en illustration de nombreux sites web mais aussi des magasines à travers le monde.
Entant que Green artist, les produits utilisés pour la composition de ses oeuvres sont trouvées dans les poubelles ou sinon données par des proches.
J’ai trouvé que son travail avec des bobines de cassettes audio pour recréer des pochettes ou des portraits était particulièrement bien fait et intéressant. A vous de voir.

Si vous tourniez sur la tête en 84 avec Turbo et Ozone, ou si vous aviez un bonnet raton laveur, un survet Adidas, un bandeau de pirate sur l’oeil et des chaînes en or de 8kg, vous savez de quoi je parle. Pour les autres, le Ghettoblaster (ou BoomBox, mais j’aime pas ce nom), c’est cet énorme lecteur de musique portable que les gens se mettaient sur l’épaule pour avoir l’air cool dans la rue.

Et comme Lasonic a senti votre envie de vous déchirer les tympans et de vous fracturer l’épaule pour faire votre fluo kid, il réédite son modèle culte, le I931, en remplaçant le lecteur K7 (vous avez pas connu ça vous les jeunes) par un deck iPod, et en ajoutant des fonctions cool comme la radio, un port USB, un lecteur de carte SD, une entrée auxiliaire et une télécommande.

Pour avoir fait une block party dans une pièce de 13m2 avec l’un de ces engins, je peux vous dire que la qualité et la puissance du son sont assez impressionnantes. Avec une préférence pour le modèle tout blanc en terme de coloris, bien que le noir fasse plus authentique. Bah oui, je suis rétro mais pas trop quoi.

Stuart Channel Sunrise

This morning I woke up at the usual god awful hour of 5. It’s not so bad now that we are on day light savings time – last week it would have really been 6. So it was around 6 when I was filling up the coffee cup for the road trip to work that I looked up and through the kitchen window to see this unbelievable sunrise.

The colors were indescribable. There was some purples and deep mixes of red woven through the carpet of clouds that rose above the island mountain in the distance and reflected on the ocean below. I stared in awe…thinking to myself what a wonderful view and picture this would take.

I turned to my wife and asked her if she has seen the sunrise.

“Yes, it sure is nice this morning.”

“I should be out there taking that picture,” I responded. And then she hit me with that sentence that would stay with me all day.

“How many sunrises can you take?”

That was a very good question because after all the photo above is one from a several weeks ago. But it just was not this sunrise!

So ponder I did. Are we taking far too many sunrise pictures? Micro-stock companies don’t want anymore yet I heard everyone loves a good sunrise/sunset – it’s just not marketable, I guess.

So when do you get to enough sunrises? To one who has a limited time on earth, you count on every sunrise that you see. To one that may go blind soon, you count on every sunrise that you see. But do you need to take a picture of everyone you see?

I met several people today that commented and asked whether I had seen the sunrise this morning. If I had a picture to share, more people might have enjoyed it too. But then again would have they?

A picture is nice to look at but it is very hard to experience the moment through that picture. It would have to be special in a way that would draw the viewer in and hold them long enough to give them a brief experience – but it still would not be the same. But sometimes we don’t take pictures for others, we take them for ourselves. To capture that brief moment in time to record the fact that I was there. You remember the cold fall wind as you set up for the picture, the anticipation of the moment that you are visualizing that should appear – as you wait for that ball of fire to show it’s colors.

In five minutes…my sunrise had changed. The colors had disappeared and the gray clouds had moved closer to block out the diffracted light. Yes I had missed this shot. It was not going to be added to my collection, but I had seen it and may be that is all that really counts in the end…

Kia just release K7/Cadenza in South Korea. This will replace the Kia Amanti that was never successful in the US. According Korean sources, Kia Cadenza will be competing with Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The price will start from $25,000~$40,000 and it will probably have a V6 for it’s base engine. The design of the Cadenza is very remeniscent to the Audi because their head designer is from Audi. Although Kia is not a well known car company in the mid-sized luxury segment, they are trying to expand their market share in the US just like what Hyundai did with the Genesis sedan and coupe. We don’t think buyers are ready for a luxury sedan from Kia, but we hope Kia Cadenza will be their starting point.

Apart from the massive juggernaut by Mark Knight feat. Karl Hyde from Underworld – “Downpipe” – there’s been little happening in the Underworld camp.

Silence is now broken in the shape of the forthcoming compilation album – “Athens” – which sees Karl Hyde & Rick Smith digging deep into their building fascination with futuristic jazz-soundscapes.

“Athens” comes as part of a two part series from Underworld with help from The Misterons (Darren Price & Steven Hall), and contains some wonderful  futuristic jazz-excursions from the likes of Alice Coltrane, Roxy Music, Laurent Garnier, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miroslav Vitous, Moodyman, Onsulade, Soft Machine, Squarepusher, The Detroit Experiment and of course Underworld themselves appearing with “Oh”, and this thrilling collaboration with groundbreaking producer and living legend – Brian Eno.

What you might expect to be unlistenable “noodlings” for French cigarette smoking, beard-stroking jazz afficionados – “Athens” – certainly comes across as a very enjoyable listen. Especially on a lazy Sunday afternoon where you don’t want anything too pounding banging on your tender head!

The collaboration with Brian Eno – conceived  during his residency at Sydney’s Opera House – showcases Underworld at the peak of their powers. Karl Hyde does what he does best – with his usual rampant rantings – while Rick Smith and Brian Eno sets the controls to “Fusion”, and IF it’s a sign of a complete style change for a forthcoming Underworld there’s definitely reason to be generally excited.

Unfortunately – it’s also the only track stamped with a digital “promotional copy” voiceover, which proves the label are aware of the hype surrounding this track, but have a listen anyway.

“Athens” is scheduled for release on K7! on 23rd. November 2009.

O mais luxuoso dos sedãs da Kia ainda não teve suas linhas internas reveladas oficialmente. No entanto, os membros do fórum VG Club (sigla que identificava o projeto do modelo) revelaram o desenho do habitáculo do novíssimo Cadenza, conhecido na Coreia do Sul como K7. O estilo é moderno, como sugere o exterior.

Com as imagens feitas pelos fãs do modelo, nota-se um cuidado especial da marca com o acabamento e os materiais de revestimento do veículo. O console central traz uma grande tela e há plásticos com boas aparência e textura. Itens como arranque por botão, volante multifuncional e ar-condicionado independente serão de série, como as imagens – e a apresentação do sedã – indicam.

Este modelo deve chegar ao mercado brasileiro no ano que vem – e dificilmente se chamará Opirus, como seu antecessor.

Vocês vão se lembrar que há mais ou menos uma década os carros sul coreanos eram tidos como produtos de pouca qualidade, design sem graça, muitas vezes cópias mal feitas, reis das críticas e por ai vai. O único motivo para comprar um coreano era o seu preço, sempre abaixo da concorrência.

Pois é, eles também sabia disso e mesmo com todas as críticas foram conquistando mercado e melhorando seus carros. E hoje, quando eles já figuram entre as maiores fabricantes do mundo, a Kia lança o supra sumo de sua história o: Kia K7 (Coréia) ou Cadenza (no resto do mundo).

A palavra Cadenza significa o som mais elaborado em um concerto. E é essa a imagem que a marca quer passar. Ele será o sedã de luxo da Kia para brigar de frente com o BMW Série 7, Mercedes-Benz Classe S e Lexus 450.

O design exterior segue o padrão mundial sem grandes exageros, mas com personalidade própria. A frente leva a identidade da marca, já presente em outros modelos como o Soul.

A lateral tem uma linha de cintura alta com destaque para um vinco que começa próximo do paralama dianteiro e sob passando pelas maçanetas do carro e termina na lanterna traseira. Ficou interessante.

A traseira assim como o resto do carro tem uma proposta bem esportiva. Repare na saída do escapamento que tem um belo desenho. As lanternas, que assim como o farol dianteiro, é composta por leds ficou muito parecida com os novos Audi. Ou seja, alguns velhos hábitos não morrem fácil.

Na parte de dentro, os coreanos não economizaram em sofisticação e tecnologia, mesmo que isso signifique um pouco de exagero na quantidade de botões e mostradores. A tela de LCD que abriga entre outras coisas o sistema de navegação é enorme, quase uma tv 20 polegadas. Ficou um pouco desproporcional.

Partida por botão, volante multi funcional, ar-condicionado com diferença de temperatura para condutor e passageiro, sistema de telefonia bluetooth, bancos dianteiros ventilados e aquecidos, assentos com suporte para as pernas, … todos os mimos estão presentes no carro.

A Kia ainda não divulgou a motorização do novo sedã. Acredita-se que entre os propulsores estará um a diesel V6 com 250 cavalos de potência. O carro será oficialmente apresentado para o mundo até o final deste ano no Oriente Médio. E como os coreanos são bem agressivos é possível que o carro chegue ao Brasil já em 2010. Tudo será uma questão de apetite.

Fãs da Kia, orgulhai-vos. Mais um bom trabalho da fabricante oriental foi apresentado na Coreia do Sul. A última novidade atende pelo nome de K7, fruto do projeto VG. O sedã sucede o Opirus (Amanti nos EUA) por lá – e fará o mesmo por aqui. O três-volumes também estreia a nova nomenclatura da marca naquele país, como a Hyundai fez com a linha “i”.

O K7 é o primeiro produto de alto luxo da Kia com sua identidade visual. Ele tem desenho moderno e esportivo, lembrando modelos como o Cee’d. Os motores devem ser um 2.2 16v, o 2.4 Theta II (que estreou no novo Sonata) e o 3.5 V6 de 280 cv. A tração entrega a força às rodas dianteiras e a transmissão é sempre automática, com seis marchas.

Em equipamentos, o sedã não decepciona. Ele conta com itens como teto-solar, assentos elétricos com calefação também atrás, câmera traseira para manobras e alerta de mudança involuntária de faixa. Há ainda revestimento em couro, equipamento de som de altaqualidade, computador de bordo e lanterna com LEDs.

As vendas se iniciam em novembro na Coreia do Sul. Brasil, EUA e Europa começam a recebê-lo na primeira metade do ano que vem.
