Crows symbolize Salvation (Mukti) in Hindu belief.

As per Hindu beliefs, a crow symbolizes salvation (mukti).

It is the one who gives mukti to the dead. As cities grow, more so in a unplanned manner, the problems the cities face keep getting bigger. This installation by Sumeet Snajay Patil at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival – 2012 highlighted the issue. Each of these crows represent the problems the city of Mumbai or for that matter any growing city faces and the want for mukti from these problems.

A kid is seen playing trying to make the crows in the installation fly away without realizing that they are mere figurines.

An artist performing alongside a puppet show at the annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival – 2012. Puppet shows are usually supported with voice-over and music. Traditional shows have such artists playing on drums or other traditional instruments and singing alongside as a chorus.
