Mahilig ako sa litrato, larawan, kodakan, pitsur, kamera, potograpiya at ano pa mang may kinalaman dito.

Wala akong kamera. Ang kamera kong di-film pa ay sira na. Ang kamerang pinadala ng kapatid ko ay nangangamba pang makalas na. Ang cellphone kong may kamera ay nanakaw pa. Hay! Ang sarap ng buhay talaga .

Mula pagkabata sa lahat ng okasyon may natatabi akong larawan bilang alaala. Minsan naroon ako, minsan mga kamag-anak o mga kaibigan o maging mga nakilala lamang na kung sino. Lahat ng iyon ay may isang dakot ng alaala- masaya man o may luhang kasama. Mahilig din akong kumuha ng larawan, mga bagay na simple at kakaiba, mga larawan ng taong nakasimangot o nakatawa, mga larawan ng taong kakilala o nadaan lang sa kalsada, kalikasang maganda o nasira na. Mayroon din akong mga larawang kinuha mula pagkabata hanggang sa pagkadalaga- binyag, kaarawan, bakasyon, outing, debut at kung anu-ano pa.

Ngayon ay wala na.

Lahat ng larawang iningatan at tinuring na yaman na nakatipon at laging dala-dala ay nabasa at naglaho na.

Ang mga bagay na kailanman ay hindi na maibabalik ay nasa alaala na lang talaga, wala ng maipapakitang larawang kayganda. Ano nga ba ang aking magagawa? Lubog sa tubig at putik ng madatnan ang mga larawang pinagka-ingat ingatan upang sana ay ibahagi sa susunod na henerasyon ng aking lahi.

Ngunit…

Wala na… wala na….

Sa lahat ng nawalang bagay sa aking buhay ng dahil sa bagyong nagdaan, hindi ko masukat ang panghihinayang na naramdaman sa mga larawan kong itinuturing kong yaman.

Ngunit wala na talaga akong magagawa kundi magpaalam sa mga bagay na nasira at nawala…

Typhoon ondoy

September 26, 2009  Typhoon Ondoy brought a month’s worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. As of now 200 people are surely died and hundred of people are still missing. Mean while public and even a private sector made there own operation to rescue and help those victims of flood.

DINDONG DANTES is not bothered at all by rumors that Marian Rivera and Rhian Ramos snubbed each other because of him. “I do not see a rift,” Dong says. “There is no reason for me to believe there is one.”

Rhian teams up with Dong in GMA 7’s Pinoy adaptation of the hit Koreanovela “Stairway to Heaven” which premieres tonight after “Darna” on the Telebabad block. It centers on childhood best friends Cholo and Jodi who eventually become lovers. Their complex love story will pierce your heart.

Just like the character he portrays, Dong has so much passion for love. What was the most passionate thing he has done for love? “It is yet to come,” Dong replies.

Comeback movie

I can hardly wait to watch “In My Life,” which opens on September 16. Since the Vilma Santos-Luis Manzano-John Lloyd Cruz starrer is about a mother’s acceptance of her gay son, I will be able to relate to it in many ways because I went through that phase myself when my son IC came out of the closet.

The Star Cinema masterpiece marks Ate Vi’s return to the big screen after seven long years. She portrays Shirley, a woman at the crossroads of her life who accepts her son’s invitation to visit him in New York. What comes next is a journey that will change her life forever.

Every time Ate Vi and I bump into each other, she teases me by calling me “Miss Controversial.” I fondly remember always tagging along with my mom to Ate Vi’s Magallanes home. There was a time they were teasing me to Ate Vi’s younger brother just for kicks. Her refreshing smile and warmth are part of my show biz childhood memories. Stars like Ate Vi make growing up in the biz worthwhile.

But she had one too many so she ended up vomiting.” She badly needs a crash course on how to consume alcohol without letting alcohol consume her.

dahil sa kalokohang party ng pinsan kong mas maganda lang si donna ng bahagya ay napayosi ng bonggang-bongga ang daddy*babet nyang isang taon na daw nag-quit. whuahahahahaha!! habang si mama*pen naman ay tuwang-tuwa. tila ba nag-uumapaw sa kaligayahan ang puso nya sa hirap ng kaloobang dinaranas ng kanyang asawa at ng dalawang kuya ni kevs dahil sa sabi nga ay one time big time na kalokohan nitong diosang si kevs. whuahahaha!!

Sunday, August 17, 2008 marked the birth of the runner in me.  It was the first ever Miracle Run by Men’s Health Magazine (Philippines) and it was my first ever race.  I, together with several of my colleagues, decided to join this run for the benefit of GMA Kapuso Foundation so that in our own little way we could share some of our blessings and have fun at the same time.  Little that we know that that fun run would open the door to something that would change our lives forever—the world of running.

I can still remember the trouble I had on what to wear that day.  Naturally I didn’t have any clothes for running so I just grabbed whatever I had—basketball shorts I use at the gym, the most decent shoes I got I can use for running, badminton socks, bandana I got from our company’s previous summer outing, and the event shirt we got for the event.  Not a single sign of a runner.

Since we really intend to just have fun and “test the waters” we opted to join the 5K leg of the race (there was also a 10K leg).  None of us had practice nor training of any form at that time so a 5K distance very intimidating.  That’s an entire 5,000 meters!

Last year the 5K event was in the form of a relay (two members of a group running 5K each) so we planned who would be the first and second liners, and have a buddy during our runs.  That system worked surprisingly well for me and my buddy as despite conversing the entire 5K and having a “chillax” pace we finished the entire 5K in 33 minutes.  We even thought that had we taken the race a little seriously we would’ve finished in less than 30 minutes, but finishing our first race was already an accomplishment for us.  And of course before and after the race tons of pictures were taken.

The Great Divide

Back then I was clueless of when the next race would come about.  I didn’t even knew back then that takbo.ph existed (but just Googling around I was able to find thebullrunner and it’s still one of my favorite sites) so for the following few weeks we didn’t have any runs.  Back then runs and races were synonymous to us—there was neither group runs nor running clinics than that we knew of.  Despite the good momentum we gained the next race that we knew we could join was almost two months away: the adidas King of the Road.  The earliest race we could join was actually the Nike Human Race but disappointingly it required that you have their Sportsband to join (which was very expensive for a starting runner like me).  That was my first heartache as a runner—not being able to join a run because I’m not tech savvy enough (feels discriminating).  It was a good thing that the next one, from adidas, was worth the wait.

I know, chances are really slim for words in an ABS-CBN Cory Documentary to be THAT identical to another Cory article without any attribution to plagiarism or malice, but come on, even I would have written my own Cory report with the same theme. And given my humble Filipino writing skills, I would have used the same words that would undoubtedly be as melodramatic and figurative as the ones written by Ms. Angela Stuart-Santiago (who I thought at first to be my former English professor at the Ateneo, Ms. Katrina Stuart-Santiago). Truth be told, plagiarism is very difficult to prove. Unless the plagiarist (is there such a word?) is stupid enough to copy another person’s work word-by-word, this is gonna be like a sexual harassment case with no hard evidence (pun intended).

Though I’ve read the on-line complaint by Ms. Stuart-Santiago against the purported plagiarism of Karen Davila and/or her team, I believe that unless the “real writer” for this documentary is in any way connected to the complainant, the whole world can and should simply dismiss this as a freaky matter of coincidence. Should the “real writer” not be Karen Davila as claimed with respect to the show, that will be another issue altogether and I’d rather not talk about it (I ghostwrite myself, hehehe!). However, this does not in any way absolve Ms. Karen Davila among others from the plagiarism issue. The sorry-but-I-only-read defense is like Erap’s sorry-but-I-only-signed- Norberto-Manero’s excuse, both of which are only acceptable if you are still in kindergarten.

However, if the plagiarism allegations are really founded and intentional, simply put, shame on you, whoever you are! I don’t think I need to expound. You may be plagiarists, but I don’t think you guys are stupid not to know the dire consequences. Hopefully this would become a landmark case if something more substantial develops in a few days. But regardless of what happens in court, bear in mind that from this moment on, viewers will be watching both ABS-CBN and GMA shows more attentively this days. So you better watch out, and you better not cry….

And finally, just to poke fun on the issue, I also “plagiarized” the punchline for this demotivational poster.

I know it’s difficult to be under the country’s prying eyes 24/7, but I guess it comes with the job (or the power) of owning a media empire. Anyway, here’s the second so-called boo boo committed by the wonderful people of ABS-CBN on the death of the late President Cory Aquino.

If you still don’t know, this is the first one and it involves the infamous Willie Revillame.

When she upped and left Star Magic a few years ago, people thought they’d never see her on ABS-CBN again. But once a kapamilya, always a kapamilya—and so Heart Evangelista is back on ABS-CBN, this time via a role as Cassie, ex-girlfriend of Terrence (Jericho Rosales) in Pangarap na Bituin.

This is Heart’s first time to act opposite her real-life boyfriend after the action series Panday, where they first met and fell in love. Heart played Eden , the lady love of Tristan ( Jericho ). Prior to this, her first appearance on ABS-CBN was in another primetime drama, Hiram na Mukha.

Discovered when she was only 14 years old, the bubbly and multi-talented Heart is an actress, TV host, onetime singer (she released an album of pop songs), MYX VJ and commercial endorser. She is currently being managed by Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano of Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management (which also handles the career of Angeli’s husband Gary, as well as a handful of other stars).

In this exclusive interview, Heart talks excitedly about her new assignment, as well as her career plans and lessons she’s learned.

This the first time you’re acting opposite Echo again after Panday. How does it feel? Is it easy or difficult to act opposite someone you’re in a relationship with?
Not at all! I find it funny though sometimes because I forget that we’re actors.

How did you get offered this role in Pangarap na Bituin?
It was presented to me. And I immediately liked the role because it’s beautiful.

Are there plans for you to do more stuff for ABS after this?
We’ll see…things are being fixed right now. I’d love to, but at the end of it all, though, I’ll go wherever my work takes me.

If people asked you how you became successful, what would you say was the reason? Was it the people who helped you, was it being in the right place at the right time, or what?
I guess everything was meant to happen.

hindi man lubos na nakapaninibago ang ganitong pangyayari (dahil normal lang naman sa kanyang kumain ng madami, hello.. sexy nga di ba?!) ay nagulantang pa din sya sa sariling kasibaan sa araw na ito. ang naiisip lang niyang dahilan ay ang pag-iinom kasama ng mga pinsan kagabi.

pakiramdam nya, at talagang feel na feel nya ay un nga ang dahilan kung bakit sya kumain ng kalahati ng double-patty-cheeseburger na niluto nya pagmulat ng mata, bago pa man maligo papunta sa isa na namang espiritwal na obligasyon. pagbalik mula sa nasabing tungkulin ay binalikan nya ang kalahati ng double-patty-cheeseburger na kanyang iniwan sa ibabaw ng bote ng mayonnaise (walang pakialam kung may ibang insektong dumapo na dito [ang katwiran : nung namumundok ka, kahit ano kinakain mo.. amp!]). naka-idlip saglit bago muling bumalik sa isa pang banal na obligasyon. pag-uwi ng bahay, tanghalian na daw sabi ni mommyreyna. longganisa, fried chicken, kanin, patikim-tikim pa ng sinigang sa bayabas na ulam ni mommyreyna at pogingjello. muling bumawi ng tulog hanggang alas-siete ng gabi. naghanda lang saglit para sa muling pag-alis ng bahay pabalik sa huling obligasyon para sa araw na ito. bago, umalis, tinikman ang natirang fried chicken noong tanghalian. pag-uwi, nagpabili kay mommyreyna ng cup noodles bulalo flavor at ng roller coaster. pagkapasok sa loob ng bahay, kinain ang ipinabili. pareho. magkasunod. habang nanood ng harry-potter-goblet-of-fire naisipang magluto na naman ng double-patty-cheeseburger (complete with veggies ang kanyang mga burger!), sumimple pa ng lemon square brownies, na tinernuhan ng ilang basong buko juice na namataan sa fridge.

habang isinusulat ang post na ito ay kasalukuyan niyang inuubos ang pang-apat na tasa ng kape. hindi na din mabilang ang kung ilang galon ng tubig na din ang nalaklak nya ngayong araw na ito sanhi ng dehydration gawa nga ng magdamag na pagtawa at pag-iinom. tinalo pa nya ang ibang palaboy na ngayon lang nakakita ng pagkain sa tanang buhay nila. walang kaclass-class ang pag-ubos nya sa mga pagkaing maisipan, at hello.. walang delay pag naisipan na nya kung anong gusto nyang kainin. kain agad.

HINDI NAMAN SIYA PALAGING GANITO!!

di naman lohikal na isisi sa magdamag na pag-inom ng alak ang misteryong ito dahil sanay, kung sanayan lang din naman ang pag-uusapan, siyang mag-inom at walang katulad na dehydration lang ang nararanasan nya bukod sa matinding sakit ng ulo kinabukasan.
