So I’m kind of thinking that Kate Moss’ recent comment during her interview with Women’s Wear Daily

So I’m kind of thinking that Kate Moss’ recent comment during her interview with Women’s Wear Daily is not a big deal. Actually, I’m taking it one step further and calling it (thin)inspirational. The rail thin, 5’ 6”, 105-pound model has come under fire for citing “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” as her personal motto. Critics and eating disorder counselors are deriding her comment because it’s been seen on several pro-ana (pro-anorexia) sites, encouraging its readers not to eat. Akin to refraining from believing that God is great because Malik Nadal Hassan and countless other terrorists shouted it out as they murdered their victims.

Remember when Weight Watchers’ campaign slogan was “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels”? Where was the anti-zero lobby then? America is a morbidly obese country. According to the CDC, Colorado was the only state with an obesity rate under 20% in 2008. Thirty-two states had a prevalence equal to or greater than 25%; six of these states (Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia ) had a prevalence of obesity equal to or greater than 30%. Sick.

In this hedonistic culture we live in, it would do us well to sometimes think outside of the pleasures of the “now”. So, I’ll second Kate’s (and Weight Watchers’) slogan and add another: a moment on the lips, forever on the hips.

Controversial comments … Kate Moss.

Eating disorder experts have criticised Kate Moss after the British supermodel cited as her motto a phrase used on websites that encourage girls to avoid eating.

In an interview with the fashion web site WWD, Moss said one of her mottos was “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”.

The same slogan is posted on websites encouraging girls not to eat.

But Moss’s modelling agency says the comment has been misrepresented.

“This was part of a longer answer Kate gave during a wider-ranging interview, which has unfortunately been taken out of context and completely misrepresented,” the agency said in a statement

“For the record, Kate does not support this as a lifestyle choice.”

In the interview, Moss adds: “That’s one of them. You try and remember, but it never works,” the BBC reported on its website.

Mary George of British eating-disorder charity Beat called Moss’s words “very unfortunate”.

“Comments like this make it even more difficult” for young people struggling with an eating disorder,” she said.

Model Katie Green, who is campaigning to stop the use of ultra-thin “size zero” models, told The Sun newspaper the comments were “shocking and irresponsible”.

“If you read any of the pro-anorexia websites they go crazy for quotes like these,” Green said.

Among the websites that use the motto is one called Starving For Control, The Sun says.

“I think Kate Moss should really have thought before she spoke, like most of us do before giving interviews,” she said, quoted by the BBC.

“Kate is a mother herself and how would parents with children suffering from eating disorders feel reading something like this?

“We are trying to get the government to put something in place to stamp out size zero models and comments like this aren’t doing anything to help that.”

The fashion industry has been criticised for using so-called “size zero” models – those who fit a US size zero – particularly after the deaths of two South American women who had suffered from eating disorders.

Moss, 35, is famous for her waif-like look, which helped spur a trend for super-thin models in the 1990s.

“Kate Moss is talking out of her size zero backside,” The Sun quoted British television presenter Denise Van Outen as saying.

“Having been in the industry for so long, she knows the impact her comments will have on vulnerable young women,” Van Outen said, according to a report on The Sun’s website.

UGH. Another celebrity who should stick to what she’s good at. First it was Kate Moss “designing” her own line for Topshop, only to be foiled that they were actually designed by London College of Fashion Students and bore uncanny resemblences to her own clothes.

No don’t get me wrong I’m one of Kates biggest fans, I could spend hours Googling her, but thats exactly where I want to see her: 2D, Nice outfit, Usually with her tits out, Pretty Face. Not claiming to be the next Karl Lagerfeld.

Someone please explain to me how this can be “designed” by Kate when she’s clearly wearing the same dress Circa 1998. That’s artistic interpretation too far. What are Kate’s credentials on desiging? There’s being an iconic clothes horse and there’s pattern cutting, measuring the seams, blind stitching. Come off it Kate.

At least Kate has some industry experience. Leona Lewis on the otherhand is singer off a reality show isn’t she? But apparently she seems to have teamed up with ethical embassodor Stella McCartney to design her own vegan clothing line. I’m vehermently against the use of fur in fashion but I can’t help think Leona Lewis could use her new found fame to promote PETA instead on joining the bandwagon of Celebrity ENDORSED fashion lines. Boring. She doesn’t even dress well. I shall wait with baited breath.

Last week, model Kate Moss was quoted as saying in an interview that “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” I heard about the quote during my spinning workout yesterday as the instructor and fellow Healthworks members discussed it. (Read the article in the Telegraph) Our instructor, who is one of my favorite teachers, commented to the class that “there are some really great tasting things out there, like peanut butter, or ice cream, or peanut butter ice cream.” My fellow spinners agreed that the quote was rather absurd and a terrible commentary on the expectation of thinness in our society. Since Kate Moss gets paid her salary to be as thin as she is, it is easy to see why she would adopt such a motto. The greater concern, as mentioned in the above article, is that there are pro-anorexia websites and groups out there who have adopted her “motto” in support of their values and goals.

I would love to see someone famous get credit for saying something so radical as “I have to work hard and pay people a lot of money to look like this, and my job depends on it.” While many more women in Hollywood share that they do use plastic surgeons and pay a nutritionist and personal trainer every day, this information is not out there to the same extent.

Sesame Street turned 40 this month. It was a pretty typical 40th birthday; Big Bird dyed his hair, bought a convertible and disappeared for a couple of days.

NASA made a huge discovery last week when they found water on the moon. Scientists said the last time they found water in a place that cold and distant was when Kate Gosselin went into labor.

Oprah Winfrey announced today that she’ll be ending her talk show in 2011, but knowing Oprah, this is likely to fluctuate. It’s been a great run, though, and I think if Oprah taught us anything in the last 25 years, it’s that black is, apparently, not all that slimming.

Supermodel Kate Moss faced backlash this week after saying in an interview that she lives by the pro-anorexia motto of “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Moss said that she was misquoted in the interview and that, “Obviously, cocaine tastes just as good as skinny feels.”

Lizzie Miller weighs 11 stone 1 lbs and when this picture was released in Glamour magazine the small

Lizzie Miller weighs 11 stone 1 lbs and when this picture was released in Glamour magazine the small “roll” on her stomach sparked global debate about whether or not she should be accepted as a model.

The news is claiming that were all getting more obese and were slowly catching up with americans and the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition telling us that we can increase our recommended daily amount of calories by 16%. For those of you who aren’t good at maths like me thats the equivalent of a cheese burger or two bags of ready salted crisps.

Weighing in at 8 stone 5 pounds I know that I make peoples eyes roll. Whats this girl talking about obesity for? She’s not fat. Looking at me you wouldnt think that I weighed that much. I have however only just reached a weight that I’ve been dying to reach for the past 4 years. No I haven’t lost weight. I’ve gained it. I’m proud of that. There are girls bigger than me and there are girls ALOT smaller than me, thats just the way life is. Nobody is perfect, but everyone in their own way is beautiful.

This beautiful that I’m talking about may not be on the surface but it can be stored underneath in a hidden personality, an extremely clever brain or a wicked sense of humour.

I’ve witnessed my friends growing up doubt themselves and I’ve been through my own doubts. Like Lizzie Miller though, I’ve learnt to love my own body.

When I was 18 I watched a friend get so stressed about her own body that she bordered on developing an eating disorder. By eating smaller meals she thought that noone would catch on. She exercised til she was exhausted and didn’t put the calories back into her body. However I did, I confronted her about it and asked her why she was doing it. Her answer? Because she was too fat. Wearing size 12 clothes I didn’t consider my friend to be fat, and neither did our other friends. We kept a close eye on her and then when we begun to worry about her, we told her Mum. Those few months around my 18th birthday were dreadful, my friend never actually developed an eating disorder but it was a tough few months to help her realise that we all thought she was perfect the way she was. Thankfully she’s never gone back to thinking that she’d need to resort to putting herself through that again.

Asking my friend why she had put herself through all of the angst that she did, she said that she wanted to be “skinny” and “pretty” just like the girls in college that looked like they should be in the magazines. My friend couldn’t see the stuff that made everyone love her. Her booming laugh, her caring nature and the ability to make braver style choices than every other “topshop coathanger” in college.

A few of my inspirational ladies

The media has alot to do with influencing the way that young girls picture themselves. Choosing models who only fit the “skinny” criteria to feature on catwalks and in magazines influences what us girls should really look like. The role models featured in these magazines can also have a bad influence on the way that people think. Kate Moss who is deemed one of the best models in the world last week shocked the nation by stating

“Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels”.

I don’t really follow alot of what Kate Moss does, apart from when she releases a new range at Topshop. Like the rest of the nation though I was shocked to see that someone who knows she is a role model to plenty of young girls who are easily influenced. The quote however was originally said by Steven Tyler Aerosmith who had no influence whatsoever on anyones eating habits, the word skinny was originally thin.

For me, I believe that if you love your toothy smile, make the most of your assets and even grow to love that “big” nose you are one of these people that are beautiful and represent a member of today’s real beautiful nation.

I eat a lot. Everyday. Yummi stuff. Good stuff. Momma’s food, grandma’s food, my very own spicy and moderately-gravy food.

I weigh just the same as Kate (’bout 55 kg). Seriously, you got a lot of stuff from that commentary itself, put all your personal views, which are completely narrow, into it and made a completely fool out of yourself. Seriously, that’s just too much dumb writing for just one post.

I don’t give a damn how smart Kate may or may not be, but you obviously obsess enough about her to actually decide for yourself, probably before watching or reading any interviews from her, how to classify her intellect.

Get help or at least stop trying to disseminate your incoherent prejudice against someone or someone’s personal ideas about their own lives.

I’m sure you have all heard Kate Moss is in trouble again! Seriously, she walks away from one problem, and into the next. For someone so successful she doesn’t seem to have a head on her shoulders. But I’ll leave that rant for another day. When asked in an interview with a fashion news website called WWD if she had a motto, Moss was quoted as saying: “There are loads. There’s ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ That’s one of them.”

“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”? Hmm personally I’ll have to disagree but of course I would. I’m one of the lucky women who know that being “skinny” is NOT sexy. I don’t know what the perfect weight or perfect figure is and frankly I don’t want to. At the moment I am reading a book called “The Secret”. There is a chapter dedicated to being healthy and watching your weight. We can use what is called The Creative Process to CHOOSE our weight. I’m not here to “preach” or try make you believe what I believe. But I realised I have followed this way of thinking way before I was ever introduced to the book and I will continue to follow this way. Because I believe in this way of thinking I now know that I am my weight because I know I’m not fat and know I never will be. It’s quite hard for anyone who hasn’t read the book to believe in this way if thinking so I’m moving on from the subject. And like I said before I am not here to start convincing anyone to believe me. Everyone has their own way of dealing with weight and no should be told what to do when it comes to controlling their weight but I feel strongly about the fact that no one needs to deprive themselves of food or cause harm to their body when doing so. Everyone has their own way of thinking and if you believe in the likes of diet pills, counting calories and the other tortures to staying slim. That’s your business.

Looking at someone who is too slim makes me uncomfortable, everyday it’s all we read about and it’s sad to think we have to be categorised by our weight and the way we look. Too be honest I’m delighted I’m not a celebrity having to deal with that everyday. I actually feel quite sorry for them. The fact that Kate Moss said something so ridiculous really annoyed me. This woman is a Mum to seven year old Lila! A Mum is every daughter’s role model. How can she say something like that and not expect her daughter to follow her footsteps?! I have a little sister, I have young cousins, and I have friends both old and young. I know they will never feel they need to be skinny or go through any harmful procedures to become skinny. That’s because they are smart. If there is anyone out there who is suffering from illnesses such as anorexia or bulimia, I pray that you recover and that you see sense before you seriously harm your body. Reading about this Kate Moss scandal, I found out there is such a thing called pro-anorexia sites. PRO!! Maybe I’m being completely naive again but I couldn’t believe there was such a thing and that these sites are allowed to actually operate. I decided to have a look at these websites, what a bad idea! My blood boiled when reading! Whoever decided to set this website up makes it all very convincing. She calls it “beauty”? Shame on her! Although I refuse to name these websites in fear of anyone visiting them, let me show you what I read:

“Because of how it started, and because of the nature of human beings, this is site on the surface is about eating disorders. You rarely see people going online and searching for “fatspiration” or “how do I get obese. I guess in sense, this is IS about anorexia and about eating disorders, but it is about so much more. XXXXX is about acceptance; about confidence; about opinions that we all hold within ourselves about how we see ourselves and how the world sees is. This site, in the most general sense, and also at its core, is about the word “beauty.” Just as I said that you won’t find people going around and searching for “how do I get fat” online, you also won’t find them going around and looking for “how do I become ugly.” You won’t find ads on popular sites trying to sell products on getting fat or ugly.

But what is fat? What is ugly? Are these just terms related to beauty in the same way “slow” could be related to running? Different cultures define beauty in different ways. Within cultures, different people define beauty in different ways. And even people, at different phases in their lives, may define beauty in different ways. If one thing is certain, it’s that people have different opinions, and these can change depending on where you are, what you’re life looks like, and even what century you were born into. This site is about beauty. This may be the one place where it is okay to say “this is what I define beauty as.” You determine what you want for yourself, and for once, be in a place where people will respect you for it. It may not be what they want for themselves; it may not be how they view beauty. But that doesn’t mean YOU have to see it their way to be their friend. It doesn’t mean that you have to be one way or another to respect them.”

Basically, this website refers to the promotion of anorexia nervosa (pro-ana) and bulimia (pro-mia) as a lifestyle choice rather than an eating disorder. In my opinion half of what is above doesn’t actually make sense? Not only reading it, the photos I have just seen are unbelievable. It makes me sick to my stomach. These young and beautiful looking girls are sending images of themselves into this website for others to see! There is also a section called ‘pictures of the week’. I’m repulsed, I really am. I really can’t believe it. I’m in complete shock! These websites should be banned! And I hope any parents who allow their children to use a computer, blocks them. I hope to god anyone who reads this blog can honestly smile over how their body looks. Because the images I just saw are NOT beautiful! Everything and anything about being skinny is not beautiful, and I know neither is being obese/over-weight (I won’t be completely naive and patronising here). But please don’t put your body through anything to become ‘skinny’ whatever ‘skinny’ is. Appreciate you taking the time to read this.

So, Skinny Leg everyting has been ‘In’ for a very Loooong time thanks to Kate Moss (Don’t get me wrong, I love her style, but skinnies really don’t suit me, as much as I want them to, I’m not bitter! Honest!). Anyway, I’m going to make a prediction : Wide leg Trousers will come back in! I’ve been right about this sort of thing before ( wrong aswell, but I’ll dismiss that memory!). I’ll just pray to the Fashion God that the wide leg makes a comeback, they’re … kinder to me.

Does Kate Moss have a responsibility to not say things like this?

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels

Feministing has reacted with great fury to this statement as a contributor to eating disorders and problems with unrealistic ideal bodies. And it may do these things. But does she actually have a responsibility to thus avoid making statements?

I think this creates an odd duality where Moss is being treated as being as existing outside the system. I’d say this statement shows just how much she is afflicted by the same pressures that she contributes to. Sure, she is famous now, but she exists in a world where her main value (and the continuation of it) depends on her internalizing such a prioritization of thinness.

To attack Kate Moss over this statement seems like victim-blaming every bit as much for those with eating disorders who participate in websites that support such behaviors. The result of their sickness may contribute to a perpetuation of such ailments, but it is the result of one all the same. Just because Kate Moss is famous and potentially influential (though I’d debate how much stock individual girls really put in what Kate Moss thinks) does not change this, and the personal nature in which feministing is striking out at Kate Moss seems troublesome.

New Kids on the Block.

Parents, journalists and eating disorder charities have all had a real go at Kate Moss in the past w

Parents, journalists and eating disorder charities have all had a real go at Kate Moss in the past week for quoting a pro-anorexia slogan as her own personal motto. In an online interview she told readers that

nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

Apparently pro-anorexia websites have this phrase as one of their 10 commandments. The Guardian covered this story on Saturday and one former anorexia sufferer revealed that she never left the house without this slogan written in a notebook or on her hand. She confessed that as a teenager she adopted the phrase as a mantra to help diminish the ‘terrible hunger I felt inside.’

Kate Moss is an icon for teenage girls, a celebrity with huge influence so it’s not surprising that the knives came out pretty quickly to devour her for this foolish and irresponsible statement. She deserves to be held to account for leading young people astray with these lies. 20% of anorexia cases in the UK end in death (according to Susan Ringwood, CEO for eating disorder charity BEAT.) Eating disorders wreak havoc in young lives and whole families are deeply impacted by the consequences. I found these statements from one former anorexic really insightful.

I was ferociously hungry, not just for the food I was avoiding, but for love, learning and adventure – all the good things in life that felt out of my reach. Like most anorexics, my eating disorder was not a girlish fad or a diet gone wrong but a private, violent strategy for exerting control on the body when life felt beyond my control…. I soon discovered that skinny tastes of nothing at all. Living with an eating disorder is a bland, cold, joyless experience.

All teenagers all are ‘ferociously hungry’ and have a huge appetite for … LOVE. They have wrongly been taught that the less space they take up on this earth then the more valuable or worthy of love they will be. Only through Jesus will this hunger for love be filled. Jesus says “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

These words are familiar from the mouth of God because in the Old Testament (through the prophet Isaiah) God says to His people

Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labour on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

Maybe Kate Moss will realise one day that she has believed and preached a lie. In the meantime I would appreciate it it if she would consider the consequences of her words a little more carefully.

In a Guardian article the Brit model Kate Moss is quoted as saying one of her mottos was: “not

In a Guardian article the Brit model Kate Moss is quoted as saying one of her mottos was:

“nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”

This has caused some Anorexia charities to be concerned as they say that this sort of statement is strongly associated with pro-anorexia websites. It seems there are quite a few pro-anorexia (“pro-ana”) sites out there encouraging people with anorexia and giving them tips on how to fool doctors and family and ways to make it appear they do not have an eating disorder.

It is easy to look at someone with anorexia and think it is should be no problem for them to eat and get healthy and fit, I have been guilty of this I must admit. But one has to realize this is a mental health issue, no one wakes up and suddenly thinks “I’ll eat very rarely and look like a concentration camp inmate because it is attractive.” They obviously have some health issues to feel this way.

The media and the thin so called super models and other influential people in the spotlight that provides “thinspiration” for people with anorexia do not help.

Susan Ringwood, chief executive of Beat, an eating disorder charity, is quoted as saying:

“anorexia – which accounts for 10% of eating disorders in the UK – has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, with 20% of cases resulting in death.”

I was not aware of this and it is shocking, Ringwood also says:

“Pro-anorexia websites,… outnumbered recovery sites five to one.”

Another shocking fact, it is a serious issue that is not something which has an easy fix.

Kate Moss has said her comments were taken out of context and she doesn’t support the lifestyle of being anorexic.

So I for one have to remember if I come across someone who has anorexia or some other eating disorder it is not necessarily something they happily do for fun, they have some issues that do require some help. It is not just young teenage girls that suffer from these afflictions although they make up the bulk of the sufferers. I know of a women in her seventies who recently was diagnosed with suffering from anorexia and that she struggled with it also when she was much younger.

inside Nov. 09 British Vogue

The new Kate Moss is Brazilian. The first time I spotted her was in Nylon’s October 2007 issue, featured as a rising star. Alice Dellal’s wild hair cut and foreign features caught my eye. I also noticed Dellal was not as leggy as the average editorial model. Still, the camera captured a strong presence and spirit.

I came across Dellal again in this month’s British Vogue. She has graced the pages of other magazines including Dazed & Confused, French Vogue, and L’Officiel. At only 5′5”, the Brazilian rebel has been deemed the new Kate Moss. This title is fitting as Dellal has been seen out on the town with questionable company partaking in questionable activities not unlike Moss did in her youth. Last year she replaced Moss as the new face of Agent Provocateur. Dellal’s style is also similar to the 90’s grunge of Kate Moss. She champions cut off denim, floral minidresses, and chunky shoes.

Dellal is currently London’s it girl. The boss of Britain’s fashion scene, i-D magazine, has shot 12 different covers, each featuring one of the “Best British Models.” Dellal will make her official British debut with her cover. The 12 models also include legends Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Twiggy as well as newcomers Agyness Deynand Jourdan Dunn.

Dellal was famous before she was famous. Her mother is Brazilian model Andrea Dellal and her father is a millionaire and bodyguard to the stars. Her friends include Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe, two of my favorite British models/socialites. The three recently left Select Model Management to sign with Next. It’s rumored Select was not a fan of the girls’ hard partying. But girls will be girls. One of the biggest perks of fashion modeling is the social scene.

What I love most about this girl is her personal style. The way people dress in their down time speaks mountains about a person. Dellal pulls off the fierce haircut, combat boots, and leather details on the daily. “I like my style. If people don’t like my hair, then they don’t have to book me,” Dellal said on Vogue.com. But it looks like that hair cut will be landing her a cover sometime soon.

“When I was seven, I caught my reflection in a spoon and though, ’Wow! I‘m ridiculously good-looking.‘”- Dellal in Nylon, Oct. 07

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about Kate Moss mentioning the infamously pro-anorexic motto “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” during an interview with WWD (Story here). While I don’t think that Moss intended the comment to be serious lifestyle advice for the masses, the truth is that people, particularly the crazed, young women striving to look as starved and anemic as she is, are probably going to take it as such. I mean, a model’s primary professional concern is his or her body, so it’s not that far-fetched to believe that some people would mistake it for expert advice. Anyone with even a slight tendency to eat badly, however, will tell you there are plenty of things that taste better than skinny: bacon, Ben and Jerry’s, pizza, Junior’s cheesecake, bagels, mashed potatoes, fettuccine alfredo, and those gold-wrapped round chocolates from the gods, just to name a few.

Speaking of weight and food that’s bad for you, I heard something interesting on the radio recently about the other end of the eating disorder spectrum:

A new study done on rats suggests that unhealthy, but delicious, food can actually be as addictive as (gasp!) heroin or cocaine (side note: Kate, remember when you were in the midst of a highly-publicized coke scandal in 2005? Nothing is better than how being high off coke feels, right?). According to really smart scientists at Scripps Research Institute in Florida, rats who were exposed to “high-fat, high-calorie food” ate increased amounts as “the pleasure pathways in their brains became less and less responsive, forcing them to consume more to get the same amount of pleasure.” Even when the researchers paired the junk food with a mild shock, the rats still chose it over a nutritional alternative. And when the junk food was removed altogether, the rats preferred to not eat at all rather than eat the nutritional alternative, which is pretty indicative of addiction.

In other words, a person addicted to junk food would probably prefer to be tasered and still receive a Big Mac than have to eat a Kashi granola bar and an apple. smh.

Unfortunately petite supermodel Kate Moss is not only known for her model, acting & fashion work

Unfortunately petite supermodel Kate Moss is not only known for her model, acting & fashion work. She is also notoriously known as an anorectic & drug addict.
In a recent interview she says a motto she tries to live by is “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” A popular slogan of the pro-ana\anorexia online communities. She adds: “You try and remember, but it never works.”

This has many in an uproar, angry that someone frequently thought of to model for anorexia is saying something like this out loud &
that it is irresponsible & fuels more distorted thought from millions of girls who inspire to look like her.
My initial reaction was anger, but we cannot forget that Kate Moss is a sick woman. Years of torturing her mind & body from eating disorders & cocaine abuse has a devastating impact on oneself.

She knows she is seen as a poster board for the anorexic ideal and she says this, what I see is an ill woman trying to build herself up on her obsession.
It is irresponsible that she says this so blatantly knowing of the impact it will have, but it’s regrettable that along with the pressure to have the perfect body, she is expected to have a perfect soul.

It’s often been debated as rather or not to hold famous people responsible for their actions’ impact on those who admire them.
And while they do have more of a responsibility to do this than the average person, it is not always necessary that we hold them to higher standards than we do ourselves.
Kate Moss is sick, it is tragic that she believes & tries to abide by that quote.
But I feel that she actually deserves more help than a backlash.
It angers me that we blame her & her alone for her illness, rather than the industry that exploited her endlessly as the heroin chic look.
I am not defending her statement, I am defending the fact that she is an ill woman. An otherwise physically & or mentally healthier person would not say that.
Not guilty by reason of insanity perhaps.

“But it never works” she adds, on her deepest level she knows that it does not work, it leaves with more pain. Her haunted eyes reveal this, the young woman who aspired to be a petite model & her emotional instability were & are exploited. It saddens me more than it angers me, she is ill, she needs help.

Kate, thin never feels as good as freedom feels.
