Voilà une dizaine de jours que je rédigeais un article inhérent à une requête simple: la mise à disposition de conteneurs et bacs poubelle.

Le message est visiblement très bien passé puisque depuis hier, c’est chose faite à proximité de mon immeuble d’habitation.

Et pour l’occasion, ils n’y sont pas allés de main morte, pas moins de 4 gros conteneurs poubelle qui arrivent d’un coup d’un seul, à point nommé. Les riverains ne sont pas habitués à cela, car évidemment ils n’en ont jamais eu à disposition! Ils n’auront que l’embarras du choix, quel conteneur pourront-ils bien choisir pour déposer leurs déchets n’est-ce-pas?

Mais en tout cas, je m’en réjouis pleinement et c’était là tout le sens de ma requête, c’est plus de propreté dans les rues de notre ville et plus de responsabilisation des habitants, les invitant à non plus déposer leurs sacs poubelle sur les trottoirs mais dans les conteneurs prévus à cet effet.

Serge Pugeault se vante constamment de la rapidité de la majorité municipale à entamer la réfection de la Halle du Boulingrin, alors que par le passé ce dossier paraissait au ralenti.

C’est clairement de la mauvaise foi car si Adeline Hazan et son équipe ont eu la possibilité de lancer aussi vite ce dossier, c’est grâce aux travaux d’études réalisés par l’équipe précédente. Il serait bon qu’ils ne l’omettent pas!

M. Pugeault met en cause la lenteur du déblocage de l’aide de l’Etat à la réfection qui était bloquée depuis 1996…C’est aussi objectivement l’une des causes du non avancement du dossier par le passé !

Surtout, c’est la preuve que gouvernements de gauche comme de droite n’avaient pas rempli cet engagement, alors même que Serge Pugeault se répand partout en affirmant que l’enveloppe accordée dans le cadre du plan de relance n’est que le rattrappage de cette promesse non tenue.

Enfin et c’est important de le souligner, c’est Jack Lang qui a classé ce bâtiment pour des raisons politiciennes en 1985, alors que sa qualité architecturale est très largement décriée.

M. Pugeault a la mémoire bien courte et une lecture partiale et partielle de ce dossier, il n’a même pas le souci de la cohérence dans les propos qu’il tient, trop occupé à politiser à outrance et à vouloir discréditer l’Etat et l’Exécutif…

But fashion leaders must always be on the lookout for what’s new – what’s hot. Especially when a majority of the fashion bloggers shop at the same places.

The creme de la creme of High street retailers: American Apparel, Urban Outfitters, H&M, and Topshop are forever indebted to the fashionistas who consistently create looks on their blogs that inspire a growing batch of followers. Without this new school of “unofficial” spokespeople, fashion retailer’s net profits would plummet at jet speed.

This post is an ode the new generation of bloggers. They’re young, fashion-forward, and proudly Canadian.

Regardless of how different they are in content, the selected fashionistas have three things in common: high street style, thrift shops and character.

The Dreamer: Rachel, 16, Serva Me, Servabo Te.

This young blogger loves pretty floral print dresses and far away places. In July 2008, Rachel founded  Save me, And I Will Save You. With piercing green eyes, fiery red hair, and a direct sense of fashion, Rachel updates her followers about fashion finds at Toronto’s vintage shops, and has a knack for binding art, fantasy books and music into her fashion entries. Though she has a passion for fashion, it’s easy to see her cultivating a career in the literary world, maybe with Penguin Books.

The Fashion Creator: Katia, 17, Blinding Bright Lights.

Whether Katia’s venturing european countries or strolling NYC, this Montrealer/Student  is a self-proclaimed “fashion-obsessed vegetarian with extremely high hopes for the future.” Fashion through her eyes is a cluttered barrage of colour, and putting looks together is much like changing underwear – she does it often. Her posts garner a legion of responses, which means she’s becoming a prominent voice within Canada’s fashion blogsphere. Maybe she’ll launch her own line, land a job at Colette or French Elle.

The Fashion Editor: Lea, 13, Lea Likes Fashion.

Don’t be fooled by the pouty demure in this picture; there’s nothing emo about Lea’s blog. In fact, it’s along the lines of UK’s Grazia. At just 13-years-old, Lea’s one of the most underrated yet promising personalities in Canadian fashion – literally. She’s a woman of little words but high on visual content. Noting Alexander McQueen as one of her favorite designers, she’s quick to post pre-season haute couture collections and one-on-one guides of her own daily looks. She’s got the look that will land her in front row of fashion weeks, and she’s got lifestyle flair; she posts food recipes and tips making her a well-rounded blogger. Word to the wise Lea, have you seen MCQ’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection of to die for bags?

The Society Girl: Olivia, 21, Stylestruck.ca.

She’s got a cute cropped cut and kick ass heels. And when she’s not giving the low down of what’s in her closet, Fashion Blogger Olivia does her own rendition of street stalking. She’s all about who’s who in the Vancouver’s (and abroad) fashion scene. She’s got a positive attitude and wears a bright smile to match. She’s definitely one of those fashionistas you’ll see working the PR circuit for a well-renowned fashion house, maybe Diane Von Furstenberg?

The Glam Girl: Abbey, 16, Abbey Karson Blog.

Abbey’s got enough style to be apart of the team behind über-fashion mags like Pop, or Katie Grand’s Love. Note the british mags mentioned; that’s because she’s cool, maybe too cool to be in Canada. With her doll-like features and semi-beehive hairstyle, Abbey is essentially Britpop to-the-max. The quality of the images on her blog are stunning and the fashion-girl-against-rural-backdrop (except when she is in front of her magazine poster plastered wall) is fresh and exciting.

The Indie Fashion Maven: Siân, 23, Good Stuff Here.

Out of all the bloggers, Siân would probably be the most anti-mainstream, though she genuinely is the most avant-garde. This Makeup Artist from Toronto’s style resonates throughout her blog; she’s one of those personalities you can see getting in with weekly indies like Toronto’s Now! Magazine, or working her magic through commissions from Creative Agencies. She’s an unapologetic blogger, not afraid to voice her dislikes which gives her platform a niche following. And, considering a lot of the fluff bloggers tend to do (myself included), that’s not such a bad thing. If all else fails, she can always become a spokes model for Carri Mundane’s Cassette Playa collection.

“Maman cherche l’amour“…avec un titre pareil comment voulez résister à l’envie de jeter un coup d’oeil? Et c’est finalement les deux yeux que j’y ai jeté et même quelques rires à l’occasion. Plus mieux comme prog’, tu meurs.

Sophie, Katia, Angie, Marie-Jo

Je fais donc partie des personnes qui ont suivi les péripéties de quatre jeunes femmes. J’avoue que j’étais aux limites de l‘addiction! 

Verdict? A la sortie: 3 sur 4 sont casées, ça semble l’amour fou, on voit des nuages roses bonbons éclatés partout (oui enfin ça s’pourrait!) et puis un petit bandeau noir, que je suis la seule à voir sur 3 que nous étions, why? Problèmes de vue? No’p, juste que le bandeau apparait en rikiki, minuscule, minable. Perdu là en plein milieu d’images montrant une Katia transis d’amour pour son Patrick…et réciproquement . Merde alors. L’image paradoxe. Le truc qui casse tout. *Aouch*. Après avoir parlé amour, mariage, maison, famille au grand complet…*pouf* plus rien, plus de nouvelles de Patrick chez Katia. Mince, finalement l’après “Maman cherche l’amour” serait peut être encore plus palpitant que le pendant.

Pour ceux qui auraient loupé ce petit panonceau parce que trop concentré sur les images, parce qu’ayant tourné la tête un millième de secondes. Et non le plus chic des couples de cette saison s’est (déjà!) éteint…le choc.

Du reste, le sosie de Diams ne serait plus non plus avec son marseillais préféré. Elle avait pourtant changé de boulot et l’école de son bout’chou (à croquer, c’est elle la véritable star de ce prog’!) pour aller s’installer avec son Jules, un marseillais avec qui cela virait constamment au “Je t’aime moi non plus”.

Enfin pour “Marie-Jo” la petite brune rigolote et pleine d’entrain ça dure, ça dure… et pourvu…que ça dure!

Fin de la petite parenthèse anthropologique. C’est fou ce qu’un tel programme peut vous surprendre! On se demande pourquoi il y a encore besoin de scénaristes pour écrire les films (patapé! it’s just a joke). Une caméra, la vraie vie et hop c’est partit pour de l’action, du rire, des larmes…  

Les téléréalités à la recherche de l’amour se suivent et on pourrait presque attendre la sortie des calendriers où à la place des vacances et jours fériés il y aurait les saison des maman cherchant l’amour en été, le bonheur étant dans la pré au printemps etc.

Mais peut-être cela existe déjà et je ne suis pas à la page.

Continuons; Nos héroïnes Katia, Marie-Jo, Sophie et Angie passent à la télé dans une émission spéciale avant le série pour rabattre des prétendants. Ensuite, chacun de nos mamans choisissent parmi les courriers qu’elles reçoivent, les hommes qu’elles souhaitent rencontrer.

Il y a déjà dans cette première étape une hic à mon avis car si potentiellement il y a pas mal de partenaires compatibles possibles, tous ne vont pas écrire. Donc déjà pour commencer nous avons les plus désespérés, ceux qui ont le plus “faim”. Mais finalement puisque c’est le cas de nos mamans peut-être ça n’a pas d’importance et c’est plutôt un avantage de mettre tous le désespoir dans le même panier.

Voici le profil de nos candidates.

Sophie : C’est une sosie de Diams, ce qui est plutôt bien puisque depuis un moment cette dernière est moins visible. La moitié des hommes qu’avait invité Sophie ne sont pas venus. C’est qui est dommage pour le morale et surtout dix hommes plus Sophie font une équipe de foot, ce qui ne sera pas pour la déplaire.

Dès le premier rencontre Sophie a craqué pour Cédric qui est ou très timide en romance ou qui n’a rien à faire de Sophie. Il aura fallu quatre émissions pour qu’elle lui mettre le grappin dessous si vous voyez ce que je veux dire. Les autres prétendants on fait de la figuration pendant tout ce temps.

Angie : Affectueusement connu sous le nom de la pondeuse pour cause de son relativement jeune age et ses cinq enfants. Après avoir été courtisé par un cousin de Frodo (Seigneur des anneaux) et un géant sans travail ni voiture, elle a jeté l’éponge. Il était assez clair que ce qu’elle cherchait était un aide ménagère. A 33 ans, elle a tout le temps de recommencer les années à venir.

Katia : Une regard de princesse perdu, Katia est la reine de l’indécision. Elle a fait rêver ses prétendants pour les rejeter pour le suivant. Finalement, elle choisi le chef entreprise, c’est sûr que quand on est indécise autant aller où c’est plus confortable. L’émission vient juste à temps pour sont fils Sasha qui lui aussi commençait à avoir un regard de princesse perdu avait besoin d’un papa, Patrick, pour manier le playstation avec lui pendant que Katia fera la vaisselle.

Marie-Jo : Il en faut toujours une, la grande gueule, Marie-Jo c’est elle. Elle est bruyant, exubérante et c’est elle qui décide. Peut-être elle est juste un peu sur excité d’avoir des mecs autours d’elle. Ca fait longtemps probablement. Juste un conseil MJ, ne joue pas trop la diva car quand l’émission sera terminé il y en aura pas un autre.

Há motivos para comemorar, afinal, é resultado de políticas públicas voltadas ao meio ambiente, em conjunto com fatores econômicos e políticos regionais. A notícia vai quebrar pernas de candidatos à sucessão presidencial com discursos ambientalistas: uns de nascença, outros pelas circunstâncias.

Fiquei em dúvida quanto ao número. Afinal, não tenho noção de espaço. Dizem que é o menor, mas é pouco ou muito? Vejamos:

Um hectare corresponde a mais ou menos um campo de futebol. São 700.000 x a área do Maracanã de desmatamento.

Garnett contro Bargnani nella sfida di Roma del 2007

Il blog che raggiunge un anno di vita: traguardo da festeggiare. Come? Con uno dei più classici talk show. Talk show con chi? Con la persona a capo di Nba Italia, ovvero Katia Bassi, che dall’ufficio milanese racconta novità succose riguardanti il Belpaese rispetto all’Nba. The Game I Love e i suoi lettori ringraziano Katia per la disponibilità. Se la regia è pronta, direi che possiamo iniziare.

Milano è grigia e quasi malinconica in questo novembre. Ma nonostante lotti con il freddo che già si fa sentire, Katia Bassi, a capo dell’ufficio di Nba Italia, non rallenta certo il suo lavoro in questi che sono mesi-chiave in vista degli eventi che la lega d’Oltreoceano ha in mente per lo Stivale. L’ufficio italiano ha aperto i battenti ad inizio 2009 e, tra gli eventi, ha già iniziato a pianificare quello che si profila come il grande appuntamento del 2010: una nuova partita di preseason dopo il successo di Boston-Toronto di un paio di anni fa, quando il pubblico italiano poté godersi dal vivo a Roma i “verdi” bostoniani, che poi avrebbero vinto l’anello 2008, contro la squadra di Bargnani. “Saranno mesi importanti i prossimi – dice Katia Bassi – con ad esempio gli Harem Globetrotters, anche loro nella grande famiglia Nba, che torneranno in Italia toccando nel loro tour anche la Sardegna”.
Lei ha lavorato con Ferrari ed Inter prima di approdare nell’Nba. Automobilismo, calcio e basket sono sport molto diversi tra di loro. E’ interessante vedere come anche in sport indubbiamente maschili ci siano donne che possono raggiungere posti di rilievo.
“In teoria passare da uno sport all’altro è lo stesso che passare da un’azienda all’altra per un qualsiasi manager. Come sempre si riparte da zero e c’è da imparare per conoscere la nuova realtà in cui ci si cala. Se devo dare un giudizio personale però ho trovato nel basket una vicinanza molto più intensa con la gente da parte degli atleti. Il calcio ha il momento della partita ma tutto finisce con i novanta minuti di gioco. E i calciatori non sono così propensi al rapporto con il pubblico. L’ufficio è nato a febbraio. Ci siamo calati subito nella realtà dell’All Star Game e a Phoenix ho potuto toccare con mano questa differenza”.
Ma in cosa consiste l’attività dell’ufficio Nba in Italia?
“Si comporta così come gli altri uffici Nba nati in Europa e che si trovano a Londra, Parigi, Madrid e Istanbul. Lo scopo è mostrare l’Nba al grande pubblico, farci notare. L’Nba ha certamente una grande notorietà ma deve comunque essere più visibile. Lavoriamo su diversi fronti: i diritti televisivi, il sito web, il merchandising e l’organizzazione di eventi sul territorio”.
L’Italia ha prepotentemente raggiunto un livello di primo piano nella lega con Bargnani, Belinelli e Gallinari. Tre ragazzi figli del profondo basket nostrano, nati cestisticamente in società di provincia.
“Questo testimonia che l’Nba è un mondo raggiungibile. Mentre il mondo del calcio è settorizzato e fare salti importanti in carriera può essere molto difficile, nel caso delle tre stelle di casa nostra solo grazie al loro talento sono state notate. Non solo sono il fiore all’occhiello dell’Italia cestistica, ma testimoniano quanto il nostro Paese può dare. Più del 20% degli atleti Nba arriva dall’Europa. E l’obbiettivo è crescere ancora. Tutto questo racchiude un bel messaggio per i ragazzi dei settori giovanili: il sogno è raggiungibile ma anche vicino nel tempo, se pensiamo alla giovane età dei tre campioni italiani”.
Riguardo alla percezione dell’Nba in Italia, l’abolizione della regola dei “passi” ha fatto molto discutere. In qualche modo questo può pregiudicare il rapporto tra tifosi europei e lega?
“Escludo che ci possano essere ripercussioni, anzi l’obbiettivo generale, come ha dichiarato anche David Stern, è rinforzare la presenza dell’Nba in Europa. Vorremmo davvero che ci fosse la possibilità di creare una Nba Europe”.
Per rafforzare la presenza in Italia è necessario passare attraverso eventi per il pubblico. Quali sono gli eventi “tricolore” in programma?
“C’è intanto il nuovo tour italiano degli Harlem Globetrotters dal 4 al 10 maggio 2010. Un tour legato al marchio Nba che porterà il team in varie località del Belpaese con una novità: l’arrivo anche in Sardegna. Dagli Harlem in poi ci sono allo studio una serie di eventi che culmineranno con la partita di preseason in programma nella seconda metà dello stesso 2010. Ci sarà un vero e proprio percorso a tappe con momenti di aggregazione nelle piazze. L’Nba tiene moltissimo al concetto dello stare insieme all’insegna del basket. E fino ad oggi il successo è stato grande, penso alla festa all’outlet Fidenza Village dello scorso anno, con quarantamila presenze. E poi l’Nba Basketball Festival, che sarà a corollario della partita italiana”.
Il merchandising Nba ha un successo planetario e gli italiani sembrano apprezzare particolarmente prodotti ormai diventati di moda. A quando uno store ufficiale in Italia, magari proprio a Milano?
“Siamo in una fase di studio riguardo a questo aspetto. Sicuramente però, se un primo store europeo ci sarà, questo sarà in Italia. Poi altri seguiranno eventualmente in varie parti d’Europa. Così come stiamo pensando ad un negozio internet che sia esclusivamente europeo. Il successo dell’e-commerce sullo store Usa è assoluto e notiamo come molti acquirenti siano proprio italiani. Obbiettivo è aiutare questi fan a risparmiare proprio grazie a un negozio virtuale nel Vecchio Continente che abbatta spese di spedizione e tasse varie”.
Parliamo dei top player Nba: li ha conosciuti? Che impressione le hanno fatto, visti con gli occhi di un italiano.
“Durante l’All Star Game c’è stato un evento di ‘Nba Cares’, il progetto di responsabilità sociale che coinvolge i giocatori, i quali vanno a far visita nelle comunità di persone meno fortunate per passare del tempo con loro. Eravamo a Phoenix e le stelle Nba hanno partecipato alla ristrutturazione di una scuola. Yao Ming e Kobe Bryant si sono prestati con una dolcezza che non avevo mai visto. Ormai si riconosce il campione che partecipa ad un evento benefico solo nominalmente o con il cuore. Molti dei campioni arrivano da famiglie normali e ricordano con affetto i periodi in cui sono stati loro ad avere delle difficoltà”.
Un’ultima curiosità: ma la boss di Nba Italia, dopo il lavoro, va a fare due tiri al campetto?
“Non potrei competere fisicamente, sono troppo bassa (sorride, ndr). Scherzi a parte, preferisco guardare l’Nba in tv. E in effetti con il Broadband League Pass, un servizio disponibile ora anche per l’Italia, riesco a guardarmi un po’ di partite quando voglio”.

A mezzogiorno mi chiama una mia vecchia amica, che ho conosciuto una quindicina di anni fa quando, in coppia con Pippo (alias Stefano Filippi) animava il Ludobus sotto lo pseudonimo clownesco di Giuditta. All’epoca studiava al Dams di Bologna, e ricordo fece una tesi sulla merda nella letteratura. Volendo mettere qualche notizia in proposito ho digitato su Google il suo nome e l’argomento:

Comunque, ho trovato un solo post sull’argomento, un riferimento scritto da Giuliano Scabia che le fece da correlatore. Una ragazza che fa una tesi di laurea sulla merda è già di per sé interessante. In più Katia ha uno dei più bei sorrisi che abbia mai visto, quando sorride le si apre il viso, per cui volevo mettere il link a una sua foto, ma non ne ho trovate. Pazienza.

Mi dice (probabilmente telefonando da una libreria):

Ora, questo porre l’accento sulla negazione è positivo. Vuol dire che lei si aspetta che le piaccia, nel qual caso non le piacesse, me lo farà sapere. E, conoscendola, so che non ha alcun timore reverenziale nei confronti di un autore. E’ lei che, di fronte a un auto-proclamantesi poeta cittadino, a chi le disse: “ma lui è un poeta!”, rispose:

Sì, un po’ eta e un po’ beta.

Katia ci onora ancora con una sua ricetta, questa volta è toccato ad un delizioso cimbellone bicolore… Arigatò!

Ingredienti:

Parte chiara:

• 250 gr. di farina
• 150 gr. di zucchero
• 85 gr. burro
• 2 uova
• ½ bicchiere di latte
• ½ bustina di lievito vanigliato per dolci
• 1 pizzico di sale
• 100 gr. di cioccolato fondente in scaglie (facoltativo)

Parte scura:

• 125 gr. di farina
• 125 gr. di cacao amaro in polvere
• 150 gr. di zucchero
• 85 gr. burro
• 2 uova
• ½ bicchiere di latte
• ½ bustina di lievito vanigliato per dolci
• 1 pizzico di sale

Preparazione:

Parte chiara:

In una terrina mescolare il burro liquefatto e freddo con lo zucchero, incorporare man mano le uova, il sale, la farina e una parte del latte. Eventualmente aggiungere le scaglie di cioccolato fondente e lasciare da una parte mentre si prepara l’altro impasto.

Parte scura:

In un’altra terrina eseguire il medesimo procedimento dell’impasto chiaro. Come si può notare, l’unica differenza è che una metà della farina è stata sostituita con la stessa quantità di cacao amaro in polvere

Prima di versare i due composti in uno stampo imburrato e infarinato, incorporare ad entrambi la parte del latte rimasta in cui sarà stato sciolto il lievito, che così non formerà grumi.

Infornare ad una temperatura moderata, nel forno già caldo, per circa 50 minuti.

N.B. il lievito va sempre aggiunto  per ultimo, specie in questo caso, dal momento che il primo  impasto viene messo da parte per qualche tempo nell’attesa che venga completato anche il secondo.

So, last night was our usual Tuesday Night 10-Man. I thought we had extended the Raid from last week, but it actually turned out to be a fresh run. Once again … I got to learn a new role on Flame Leviathan. So now I have gunned in a Siege, gunned in a Demo, and driven a Demo. Maybe next time I can drive a Siege? Or maybe the bike? Is there an achievement for doing each role at least once, like riding each drake in that Heroic that no one does? brb google …

dang, there is! I gotta drive a chopper one of these days.

Anywho … we decided that since we had been defeating him easily enough already, we would try it with one tower up. No problem, our first hard mode, cleared! Which tower did we leave up? Umm … I dunno. The back left one, whichever one that is. What? I don’t ask questions, I just shoot pyrite outta the air and pick it up off the ground when we run low. I was still aiming at the things when the fight abruptly ended and the achievement popped up. First hard mode successful, go us! I got the Combustion Bracers off of him, thinking I might need the hit if I ever get a robe upgrade. For now though, I’m wearing Furious Glad bracers. Yes, even for PvE.

Ok, where was I? Got distracted by some lore. Trout, go read some WoW novels and let me finish my post!

Razorscale was downed with no problems, but XT pwned me. Not the raid, just me. Three bombs in a row and I was faceplanted hard. Fortunately, I was aoe’ing adds and wasn’t in the middle of the raid, so I didn’t blow up anyone but myself. Kologarn was easy again, although this was the first time I’ve been picked up by his arm. That was kinda cool.

A botched pull wiped us on Auriaya, but the second try was good. It’s a very hectic crazy fight, but I kinda like it. Of course, I have good reasons for liking it! You may recall that I got the Massive Wand of Holy Light off of her last time. Well, THIS TIME …. she gave me the ZOMG WTF EPIC?!?! Trinket of Arcane Mage Pwning …. and Arioch will approve wholeheartedly, as it happens to be on proc, rather than on use. Yeah, I’m as lazy as she is when it comes to having to actually pop something. I’ve already got AP, Mirror Image, and IV to pop … I don’t need trinkets, too. She drops a pretty nice robe, too … maybe next time …

Hodir .. pwned us hard like he did last time. But this time we got there early enough to have several tries at him. The last try he’s going, he’s going, he’s almost there! …. we’re dead. Or so I think. While we’re all releasing and coming back in, we realize that The Greatest Priest Ever managed to finish him off. Hurray! So yeah, it was ugly and there’s no guarantee that we’ll get him next time, but he still can be crossed off the list. (I don’t think I will EVER get used to Fiak not being undead … it just does not compute)

We made one visit to Thorim (omg I really got to see the In The Mountains speech! for real!! Like, not in a video!!!) which predictably ended quickly, and then called it. We are planning to extend for next week though, which should be very exciting, as this will be completely new content for .. well, almost all of us I would guess.

Back to town and then it was time to drop a bunch of hit, thanks to the Trinket of Awesomeness. I bought a Reckless Ametrine to replace the hit gem in my pants … took one look at the pants and was all like ‘oh no, these are sooooo last week. They must go’ … I think they were from regular ToC, they were iLevel 200. So I trotted my butt over to the EoC quartermaster and plunked down some badges for the iLevel 226 hotpants. Yeah, much better. I mean really, if I’m gonna put a 175g gem in them, they better damn well not be something that should have been replaced like, yesterday. I’d just be wasting the gem.

That Race Change Thing

Yeah, so I know you all want an update on Katia, since I said I was gonna do it. So, here it is … she is now Kalyon. And despite what the FAQ said, (s)he was not teleported to his new racial capital upon changing. I logged out of Katia, changed her over, and when I logged back in, Kaly appeared right where Katia had been, standing on The Dude’s rug in the Fjord.

So .. I get to work this morning and everything is moved out of my office and a folding table is moved in to put the computer on. I had to go hunt down a chair. They even removed my toilet. It’ll be nice when it’s done, but in the meantime, this remodeling stuff is about as much fun as being turned into a leper gnome. What does all this have to do with today’s post? Not a darned thing.

I’m loving this weekends off thing, although, it’s going to result in even less housework getting done than before.

Ok, on to the stuff. Here’s what happens when you’re turned into a skeleton and try to do HToC.

So, what do you do when you decide that your draenei DK really should have been a human? Your level 80, epic-flight, Champion of the Frozen Wastes draenei DK? You wait for the upcoming race change feature, right? Wrong. You delete and reroll. Well, if you’re completely insane like Blood is, anyway. Gotta admit, though … Kris is a LOT sexier than he was before.

On to some Hallow’s End activities. Wein went to the It Came From the Blog  event sponsored by Robin at Wow.com and had a great time, as usual. We made small groups to go into Southshore and throw stinkbombs. I got to be in a group with both Robin AND Mike Schramm. Oh, and check this out. Is that a Brigwyn?

So, what happens when a group of crazy people have finished their HH summons for the night? They have a bat party!

That was Saturday night. Last night, the mount actually dropped. I lost the roll by one measly point.

I spent the majority of the weekend leveling my hawt pally Kerick.

So, after cheering Momma V as she flew away on her awesome new mount, I popped back over to him. He knows just how to erase the sadness. Wait, what? No! Not like that. Geesh, you people are sick. He rode HIS brand new horsey over to Stonewatch in Redridge.

Yeah baby! Nothing cures depression like beating the everliving snot out of an elite mob 3 levels higher than you … solo. I <3 my pally.

Domingo passado (04-10-09) meu amigo Tih me liga ás 9hrs da manhã e me chama pro Play, assim, do nada. Disse que a Irmã dele tava de folga e resolveu me chamar. Eu tava sem grana, mas tinha o ingresso que eu tinha comprado pra ir com meu amigo “Rick”, então, resolvi ir. Foi bem divertido, a Sabrina, amiga dele e da irmã dele, é super legal, já tive a chance de sair com ela outras vezes, a irmã dele também, amo ela.

Como toda vez que eu saio, sempre tem algo que faz o dia ser HI-LÁ-RIO, nesse dia não podia ser diferente como a Sabrina tendo um ataque de Pânico no “Barco Viking” logo depois de dizer que era que nem “rede”, ou ela morrendo de medo e se assustando fácil assim que soltaram os monstros, a Enorme volta que nós demos pra chegar no Terminal, sem saber que tinha um caminho beeeeeeeem mais curto e claro, o ônibus indo embora acompanhada das palavras do Tih ” Hey, Ei, Para, Ei…”

Enfim, foi um dia FODA!

Teil 3

Am Montag in der großen Pause stand Andrea zusammen mit Mille und Adrian, einem guten Freund von ihnen, der bei Mille mit in die Klasse ging, auf dem Schulhof.
Mille erzählte Andrea und Adrian irgendwas von einem blöden Lehrer, der sie wohl voll ungerecht behandelt. Aber Andrea hörte garnicht richtig zu, sie wollte Martin wieder sehen. Sie hielt Ausschau nach ihm, vielleicht ging er ja auf ihre Schule. Er war ihr zwar noch nie aufgefallen aber vielleicht hatte sie ja Glück und er war auf ihrer Schule. Schließlich ist er ja gestern auch in die Richtung ihrer Schule gelaufen als er sagte, er müsse zurück in die Schule. “Andrea? Hallo ist jemand zu Hause?” Mille fuchtelte wild mit ihren Händen vor Andreas Gesicht rum. Mist, sie war wohl so tief in ihren Gedanken und dem Suchen nach Martin, dass sie Mille und Adrian total vergessen hatte.”Was suchst du denn…was ist denn los mit dir? Seid gestern bist du so abweisend?” Oh man ey, dachte Andrea wütend, denn sie war noch nie gut im Lügen aber jetzt musste es sein!” Ich…äh…ach keine Ahnung, wir haben im Moment so viel in der Schule auf, das ist alles in meinem Kopf…das ähh und ich suche gerade…äh hier wie heißt der noch mal Hr. mar äh nein also Hr. Martin glaube ich ja…”. “Was häää? Hr. Martin ? Den kenne ich garnicht, kennst du den Adrian?” Adrian schüttelte den Kopf. Andrea nutzte die Gelegenheit und murmelte schnell: “Äh…ja. Hr Martin, den muss ich dann jetzt auch mal eben suchen – bis später..!” Schnell rannte sie Richtung Haupteingang. Naja richtig gelogen hatte sie ja nicht, sie hatte ja nur ein Wort dazu erfunden “Herr ” das ist doch nicht schlimm. Sie ging einmal über den Schulhof, Andrea hatte schon die Hoffnung aufgegeben, dass er wohl doch nicht auf ihre Schule geht. Andrea wollte gerade aufs Mädchenklo gehen als sie daneben eine große Gruppe von Jungs sah und mittendrin stannt Martin. Ihr flog sofort ein Lächeln über ihren Mund. Sie ging die Treppe hoch, blieb einen Moment auf der Toilette und ging dann wieder mit der Hoffnung, dass er sie vielleicht sieht, raus. Sie hatte Glück, genau in dem Moment, als sie die Tür öffnete, guckte er zu Tür. Er lächelte sie an, sie lächelte zurück. Dann drehte er sich wieder um und redete weiter mit seinen Freunden. Andrea war total endtäuscht. Langsam ging sie wieder weg. Aber plötzlichklopfte ihr jemand auf die Schulter. Ruckartig drehte sie sich um… Da stand Martin. Er hatte seine Freunde also nur verabschiedet.
In diesem Moment war sie so happy ihn zu sehen, dass es ihr schwer viel, es zu verbergen. Kann man sich überhaubt so freuen eine Person zu sehen, wenn man sie erst einmal zuvor gesehen hat? Wie ist das möglich…verdammt noch mal? Er lächelte sie an und ihr kam es vor, als wäre das das frecheste und süßeste und schönste Lächeln, das sie jeh gesehen hat.” Hey ähm, sorry dass ich dich Freitag einfach hab so stehen lassen. Ich hatte es nur so verdammt eilig! Ich wusste garnicht, dass du auch auf diese Schule gehst?” So schnell aber so ruhig sie könnte antwortete sie: “Ja ähh ich meine ist schon okey verstehe ich, ähm ja aber auch erst seit einem Jahr…obwohl also eigentlich ja nicht erst seid.. aber ach egal ein Jahr halt!” Ich rede mir noch den Mund fusselig, wenn ich so weiter mache, dachte Andrea sauer.

Martin lachte: “Ach so, ja gut zu wissen…du äh also du weißt ja wie ich heiße aber ich weiß garnicht..” Er kratzte sich verlegen an seinem Kopf. Puh, wenigstens bin ich nicht die einzige, die hier so schüchtern ist, war Andreas neuer Gedanke! “Äh ja, mein Name ist Andrea.”-”Achso.. hallo Andrea!” sagte er mit einem frechen Grinsen. Eine Zeitlang standen sie ohne etwas zu sagen da. Dann aber stieg in Andrea Erleichterung auf, denn Martin machte den ersten Schritt und sagte mit einem süßen Lächeln:”Äh ja ok dann ähm hast du vielleicht mal lust dich mit mir zu treffen, Andrea?” Jetzt musste Andrea schnell handeln. “Ja äh klar – wann und wo ?” “Hmmm vielleicht im Kaffe Sunshine
morgen um 15 uhr?” Andrea nickte. Er verabschiedete sich und Andera ging mit einem Lächeln zurück. Als sie aber Mille gesehen hatte, ging das Lächeln weg. Hatte sie jetzt gegen eine Regel verstossen?

DURVA E KÁTIA, MÃE E FILHA, UM POUCO DA ALMA DE NOSSO GRUPO…

The Master Of Cook ospita una ricetta esterna. L’autrice è Katia, che già ha collaborato in maniera “indiretta” alla realizzazione di altre ricette. A lei vanno il mio ringraziamento e i complimenti per una crostata ottima…

Ingredienti pasta frolla:

• 150 gr. di burro
• 150 gr. di zucchero
• 3 tuorli d’uovo
• 300 gr. di farina 00
• Un pizzico di sale

Ingredienti per la crema:

• ½ litro di latte intero
• 1 cucchiaio colmo di farina
• 1 cucchiaio colmo di fecola
• 3 cucchiai di zucchero
• 3 tuorli d’uovo
• Buccia di limone o stecca di vaniglia

Decorazioni:

• 1 bicchiere di vino bianco secco
• 3 mele dolci
• Cannella

Preparazione della base:

Lavorate il burro, la farina, lo zucchero, e il sale fino a quando non saranno ben amalgamati.

Aggiungete ad ultimo i 3 tuorli badando di non maneggiare troppo il composto per evitare che la frolla perda di friabilità. Fate una palla e mettere a riposo in frigo mentre si prepara la crema.

Preparazione della crema:

Mettete a scaldare il latte con una parte dello zucchero e lavorate il rimanente con i tuorli, la fecola e la farina.

Aggiungete il composto ottenuto al latte tiepido e mescolate fino a quando la crema non si addensa.

Preparazione delle mele:

Sbucciate le mele, privatele del torsolo e tagliatele a fette avendo cura di metterle in acqua acidulata (con limone) in modo che non si ossidino.

Fatele rosolare in padella con un filo di olio di semi a fiamma basa per qualche minuto.

Quando l’acqua che le mele avranno rilasciato si sarà asciugata versate un bicchiere di vino bianco secco e alzate la fiamma in maniera che evapori velocemente.

 Per ultima aggiungete la cannella secondo i vostri gusti.

Composizione:

Foderate una tortiera di circa 30 centimetri di diametro con carta forno e, adagiateci la pasta frolla che stesa deve formare un disco con i bordi rialzati.

Sistemate un altro foglio di carta forno sulla frolla e coprite con dei legumi secchi in maniera tale che durante la cottura la pasta non si sollevi. Infornate a 180° per circa mezz’ora.

Quando la base sarà pronta e fredda, riempitela con la crema e finite decorando con le mele.

REVIEW:

Alright, I am a big fan of SF but this one just didn’t live upto my expectations. Maybe this is actually a great book and I’m just a skeptic or perhaps I’ve read too many Asimov’s books to comprehend the “complexity” of the sci-fi space. In either case, other than hi-fi weaponry there wasn’t much to absorb in this set of novellas.

The only brilliant thing for me in this one was the phase of “Transenlightenment”. However that also seemed like something that Asimov had mentioned in his Foundation universe.

Read it if you are a fan. I’m not too keen for a re-read.

So, as stated in my previous post, I was sick all weekend. I spent the last three days in bed … playing WoW. Karius got some major powerleveling in. Let’s see, he hit Outland on September 15. That was what … oh. A week ago! Yesterday he started the day at 66. I quested all day in Terrokar, and helped take the Spirit Towers twice over the course of the day so that I could get that 5% bonus xp on top of the 20% I get from the heirloom gear.

But let’s back up a bit, shall we? On Sunday he took a break from all the leveling to do some low level dungeons with that handsome devil Mordune. First we did in Van Cleef, then we headed over to Southshore to ride to my old favorite, Scarlet Monastery. Here we are mounted up for the ride.

Having been Horde for so long, I led the way since I know Silverpine and Tirisfal so well. Along the way, I took a detour. “Hey! We can’t ride by and not do Shadowfang Keep!”  I love Shadowfang. The music, the worgen, the lore …it’s really quite epic. It’s too bad it doesn’t have the infamy that VC does.  Maybe having Gilneas open right next door will breathe new life into it. Anyway, here we are over the remains of good old Arugal. Mord popped his demon form just for me since he knows how much I love it.

Then we hopped back on our ponies and romped over to Scarlet Monastery. I used to spend a lot of time here. My priest, Ragle, is completely decked out in stuff from here…Robes of Doan, Mantle of Doan, Illusionary Rod … I don’t think he ever finished off Whitemane though. He’s 41, still within the level range. I should do that sometime. Anyway, here we are on our way out of the graveyard.

ZOMG! This is one of the best screenshots evar. I don’t recall whether it was the library or the armory, but it turned out perfect. Srsly, who could withstand both Rain of Fire AND Blizzard? Such a sexy shot.

So we finished off SM (no Whitemane’s Chapeau, boo!) and then went and did Gnomer. Quite a bucket full of achievements for a couple hours of running around!

Hey Opp, I know you stop by here once in awhile, but has your picture been on my blog yet? Well, now it has. I even got your good side. :p

Ok, all joking aside, Opp has really been a big help with group quests and such. He ran BOTH Katia and Karius through group quests, including basically soloing the Ring of Blood for both of them. Thanks man, you rock!

Speaking of running me through things … Karius and Katia both got a chance to get carried through Coren Direbrew, even though neither one of them is high enough level to insult him themselves. Opp even passed one of the stamina trinkets to Katia. I suspect that was a hint that they would like me to level her so we have an extra tank around. *chuckle*

Afterwards, everyone hearthed out except for Kat and Elgar. Shadow Elgar decided to have some fun. He was running around the bar checking out all the patrons. Suspecting what he was up to, Katia switched to her tank gear and frost presence. Yup, sure enough … he aggroed the entire place! Mind Sear + DnD/Blood Boil ftw! Here we are standing over our kills.

Oh, and THEN Elgar decided to actually … loot the corpses. LMAO! That came to an abrupt end when we both looted some cherry pie and sat down to munch it. Mmmmm….cherry pie.

Alright, quick detour back to Hordeside for some arena … hit 1021 ranking and called it a night. Once we have our points after today’s maintenance, Fiak will be able to get his new .. robe I think is what we wanted 1000 for.  I was playing without a gem in my new Furious gloves. I have like 6 cardinal rubies sitting in my bank, I really need to find a JC and get some cut.

Returned to Karius; stopped in Shatt to turn in final quests and collect my Miniwing … flew out to the river in Terrokar to catch some golden darters and get the last 4 points I needed to level cooking to 350 …. said goodbye to Merv since he won’t get to play in Northrend until 77 …. and headed for the docks in Stormwind. Here is the arrival at Valiance Keep in Boring Tundra. (Yes Trout, I am always going to call it that, I don’t CARE if you like the place :p )

Of course, just getting there wasn’t good enough. I ran around questing until I hit 69. By this time it was well past 2am and I decided I’d better get some sleep. Goodnight Karius!
