We bought these shoes when my toddler went through another highly recommended brand & kept falling. They have been a wonderful summer sandal for her. They protect her feet and yet have vents. Also, she can’t step out of them while walking (like the other brand with velcro). Plan on getting them again next season & checking out Keen’s winter shoes too! Very happy with the product!

I bought these sandals for my 4 year old in early April and she still wears them today (December). They have lasted through water parks, scooter rides, and learning how to ride a two wheel bike. I only have to buy her a new pair because she’s outgrowing her old ones. They are well worth the price and will buy more. I also own two pairs myself.

We love these shoes. They provide sturdy support on my 2 year olds feet and he likes the ease in which he can get them off himself. The velcro doesn’t come undone like we have experienced with some similar shoes. Highly recommended!

Round Five – 12/15/2009
Finished my fifth round of disc golf today with the Keen Milo’s. I find them to be very comfortable. There was no pronounced break-in period for me. We actually had some weather this weekend and they held up nicely. Great grip on the wet cement and rubber tee pads. Decent grip walking up slippery, muddy hills. Kept my feet dry while playing in the rain and walking through many large puddles. Toe box is nice and sturdy, My opinion at this point is very positive. It ‘s hard to compare to other Keens, Merrills, Salomons, etc as these do not seem to be made as a similar hiking or trail shoe. The side and top panels of the shoes are made from a soft nylon-like material. Though this adds to the comfort, I’m not sure how they would prevail in a rougher terrain. I could see heavy brush, jagged sticks or rocks may push the limited protection above the soles. Again this shoe is not a hiking shoe so this is probably intentionally designed.

I believe the true value in these shoes will be determined in the long run in their durability. Will the toe box and sole hold up to their task? At $110 they are above the average price for many disc golfers shoe budget. These shoes are getting some flack online for durability. We will have to keep an eye on that.
At this point I give them an B. I wish they came in colors other than Gargoyle/Drizzle though I do give them credit for those creative color names. Much better than Gray/Dark Gray.

Oh after NaNo… how I hate that. D: 

Guess what I’ve been doing all day for the past two days? Watching Vocaloid videos! I love musics, but FLAMMIT I need to stop goofing off! 

but utau looks so neat… Oh well. I can record voices from my Utau characters after I work on KEEN and some drawing! 

Anywho~ I semi-joined a drawing challenge made in the similiar idea of NaNoWriMo. 31 drawings (or art pieces) in December? Considering I drew nothing more than about 2 or 3 pictures in November, this is like GOLD right now. Since I said I would post drawings and sketches and stuff on here with everything else, I’ll post up art from all of the drawings I do this month.

I’ve only drawn three pictures. It’s the fourth. Hahahaha… yeah. :| (well, it’s not that bad XD;) Maybe I could actually finish those sketches I promised for everybody in Traces of Aftermath… in like August. Or whatever. LOL I SUCK  

I’ll post the rest of the sketches later! For now, I must go do something awesome. D: (except i have no clue what that is. yay! perhaps taking pictures or drawing or writing some more.)

I procrastinated a bit yesterday, but I still did it… and I get to brag about it for five seconds. 

I FINISHED BRICK AFTER BRICK! HAHAHAHAHAHA! 

And I got a good word count while I was at it! well, not good… better than good? I rushed and rushed to finish the novel and I DID IT! I’M REALLYREALLY A WINNER NOW! 

I’ll include KEEN’s word count while I’m at it, too. xD; Not nearly as good, but considering the novel’s not even done, doesn’t quite, matter does it? 

17k is better than nothing! <3 I’m trying to figure out what my goal’ll be for next year, but I’m just gonna worry about these two novels for now.

AND NOW I CAN TALK ABOUT BRICK AFTER BRICK. HAHAHAHA. …I’ll make another post for that. I’ll just say it’s what happens when you take not-so kid-friendly horror and put it in the Magic Kingdom. Not Alien Encounter scary to the point of where it’s unfitting (though some stuff in my story might not be completely 100% fitting), but scary enough.

And not talking about KEEN just yet. Because the first draft’s not even done yet. I hope that what goes on in the teenaged main characters’ lives are actually fitting and not random. As bad as this sounds, I feel like I don’t know how teenagers act anymore. :[ I’m a teenager, but I don’t really interact with teenagers that much. Blargh. 

Now I has to figure out what to do with this blog besides talking about NaNoWriMo! I HAVE NO CLUUUUUE. I’ll try to keep talking about real life stuff to a minimum and talk more about writing and media stuffs. Because this is NOT a place for me to whine! That’s what my friends locked entries on Livejournal are for.

editors “hands-on” review: Day One – very comfortable straight out of the box. Light. Good fit per size ordered, may even be a little extra in the width (which most men need). Not sure what the Anti-Bunch Asymmetrical Flex Lace System is but despite its funny (off-center/wonky) look, it seems to distribute the lacing tightness over the whole length of the top of the shoe. I find it to be very comfortable design feature. It did though draw three strange looks this morning while shopping at Target. It will be a while to report on wear and tear as the harshest conditions we experience in SoCal is when the grounds crew at our course over waters a smidge. We’ll provide you with first round, fifth round and tenth round impressions in the next few weeks.

Andrew Keen kwam voor ons, Interactieve Media studenten, spreken. De man die vooral veel tegen dingen aanschopt. Als ik het hoorcollege, en daarmee het ideaal van Andrew Keen, in drie woorden moet omschrijven, dan zou dat zijn: Gratis Is Slecht. Amateurs die hun producten/diensten gratis ter beschikking stelden verpesten de markt van de professionals en professionals dienen áltijd betaald te worden voor hun diensten en producten. Alles wordt maar op internet gezet, door alle (door amateurs geplante) bomen is het (professionele) bos niet meer te zien.

Wij, als toekomstige professionals, zouden de mening van Andrew Keen als geen ander moeten delen. Onze markt wordt ten slotte verpest door de amateurs. Daar zouden wij straks heel veel last van krijgen.

En dan was er nog de piramide die vroeger, voordat internet echt interactief werd, mooi met zijn punt naar boven stond. Nu staat die 180 graden gedraaid. De piramide is een symbool voor de werking van de creatieve markt. De originele piramide hield in dat enkele mensen, bijvoorbeeld de redactie van een krant, bepaalde wat belangrijk nieuws was voor de mensen om te weten. Mensen zelf hadden hier geen invloed op, deze enkele mensen bepaalden wat zij gingen lezen. Nu is dat anders, mensen hebben veel meer keuze. Ze kunnen op internet zelf uitzoeken wat zij belangrijk vinden en zich dieper in deze onderwerpen verdiepen. Andrew Keen beweert dat dit ervoor zorgt dat mensen foutief geïnformeerd worden over belangrijke onderwerpen, omdat de ‘amateurredactie’ (lees: alle mensen die geen professionals zijn op het gebied van journalistiek, maar wel nieuwsberichten schrijven) op het internet vaak niet weet waar ze het over hebben en maar dingen aannemen. Ik geloof niet dat meer keuzes slecht kán zijn.

Hij vergat, naar mijn mening, namelijk een belangrijk punt. Mensen moeten zelf uitvinden wat kwaliteit is. Waar ze voor willen betalen en waarvoor niet. Of ze een ’s ochtends een krant kopen of hun nieuws van nu.nl of soortgelijke website halen. Als zwak weerwoord had Andrew Keen dat mensen blijkbaar niet zelf in staat zijn om de goede keuzes te maken, om kwaliteit te kiezen.

Ja, misschien zit daar ook wel het probleem. Hoe kan het probleem nou het aanbod zijn, het probleem is altijd de consumenten en hun keuzes. Maak mensen duidelijk waarom ze voor diensten en producten gemaakt door professionals moeten kiezen, waarom ze voor deze producten en diensten moeten betalen.

Zelf vind ik het leuk en interessant dat er een man als Andrew Keen is, die deze discussie aanwakkert door er keihard tegenaan te schoppen, maar ik ben het niet met hem eens. En ik zou zijn boek ook nooit kopen. Gelukkig voor mij is het ideaalbeeld van Andrew Keen (nog) geen werkelijkheid en zijn er voldoende (gratis) alternatieven.
