Vicky Binns (Molly Dobbs), Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Samia Smith ( Maria Connor ), Denise Welch (Natalie Horrocks), Tupele Dorgu (Kelly Crabtree) and Katy Cavanagh (Julie Carp) swapped their heels for trainers as they ran the 10km charity race in support of organisations like Alzheimer’s Society and The Christie.

Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow), Craig Gazey (Graeme Proctor), Richard Fleeshman (Craig Harris), Ryan Thomas ( Jason Grimshaw ) and Conor Ryan (Len Windass) were also amongst the Coronation Street team.

Emmerdale stars Tony Audenshaw (Bob Shaw), Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard), Lesley Dunlop (Brenda Walker), Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle) and Nicola Wheeler (Nicola De Souza) also took to the race track in Manchester’s City Centre.

Vicky, who ran on behalf of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, said: “The atmosphere at a big run like the Great North Run is incredible – it is a humbling experience to be around so many people willing to challenge themselves and raise money for something or someone they are passionate about.”

This of course is loosely related to the news that Kelly Crabtree will be leaving Corrie. Speaking candidly on Loose Women, she said something like, ‘my character isn’t progressing…’ Too right love. Kelly’s only been progressing backwards in the timeline with those dodgy  costumes.

By the way, Peggy Mitchell was also in Alice in Wonderland. As a mouse.

The gaggle of Street stunners includes Becky McDonald, Tina McIntyre, Carla Gordon, Michelle Connor and (maybe) Kelly Crabtree.        

Fit fella famine         

Since the departure of the delectable Liam Connor, his mildly tempting cousin Tom Kerrigan, and the not-too-shoddy Luke Strong, it’s slim-pickings when it comes to tasty men-morsels.         

Granted, there’s Jason Grimshaw. If you like a man that looks like he’s forever sucking on a lemon whilst a super sticky plaster is ripped off his excessively hairy shin, there’s Nick Tilsley. Binman Trev is a contender but, erm, yep, that’s definitely it.        

Soap swap-shop       

James Sutton, a.k.a. Hollyoaks’ John-Paul McQueen paved the way for soap-hopping, teleporting seamlessly into the role of Ryan Lamb on Emmerdale.        

Hollyoaks is filmed in Liverpool, a mere hop-skip-and-a-jump away from Corrie’s Manchester studios, so defecting hunks wouldn’t even have to relocate. Perfect!         

I’ve plucked two damn fine specimens from the reject pile, so let the voting commence!         

(Yes, hunk-hankering is a guilty pleasure but this plan has some admirable outcomes too… one less young person joining the dole queue for one).

The newly returned Nick, who has already kissed Tina McIntyre ( Michelle Keegan ), is set to have a fling with factory worker Kelly Crabtree (Tupele Dorgu) as he strives to get the dirt on Underworld.

Ben joked to the Sun: “I’m getting through the whole of the street, I’ll be on to Rita by the end of the year!”

Nick learns from Kelly that factory boss Carla Gordon ( Alison King ) needs a business partner, so he takes the opportunity to make her a rock-bottom offer.

Although the fling with Kelly won’t go the distance, Ben hopes something will develop with Carla when they work together.

“A slow burn would be good with Carla. Right now, Nick is very good at separating business and pleasure.

“I’ve got a few more ladies to meander my way through before anything happens there I think.”

Ben also revealed that Nick will soon bump into ex-wife Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) soon.

“I’m sure stuff will come out of that – there’s a story there,” he added.

Chesney and Kirk are still anti-Fiz over the whole she-loves-John-Stape-thing.  Fiz is shocked to see she’s getting her letters she sent to John returned, with a note from him saying he doesn’t want to see her anymore.  Chesney is looking for a job to save money to be able to move out when he’s 16. Ah, teenage angst.

Claire tells Ashley that his butchers should sponsor new uniforms for Joshua‘s football team.  Ashley tells her to look elsewhere.  She does this, then comes back after everyone has turned her down.  Well, not everyone, she didn’t ask the Rovers!  That’s the only business that’s making any money these days.  Maybe little kids with liquor ads on their backs isn’t quite primary school material though.  Peter wouldn’t even be able to watch Simon play!!!  Ashley eventually concedes and sponsors.

Kelly electrocutes herself on her machine, as does Rosie when she tries to see what is the matter.  Luke comes over to see if Rosie is alright.  Rosie looks infatuated.  Uh oh, we know what this look means = trouble!  Tony’s being all misery and miserly and Luke insists that they spend money on health & safety matters.  Tony disagrees and challenges him to find the money for it.  I WONDER how he’ll do that?  Rosie and Luke flirt over making fun of Tony.  Rosie asks Luke if he’d like to further make fun of Tony over a pint or two, but he politely declines choosing business over pleasure.  Although, he did look flattered and somewhat interested.  He is a man, afterall.  And John Stape can’t be the ONLY fool in Weatherfield, god knows.

Maria gets a shock when she thinks she’s in labour, and has Kirk drive her to the hospital.  However, Kirk forgets how to drive all the sudden and Sally saves the day, by driving them there.  Although, they find out it was all a false alarm, Maria was in false labour.

Gary tells Anna and Eddie the truth about the burglary when he finds out he wasn’t directly responsible for Ted‘s heart-attack and Ted has told as much to police.  Anna makes Gary go down the police station and tell them EVERYTHING.  Anna and Eddie warn Len to stay away from Gary and vice versa, saying he’s a bad example.  Len is shocked when Eddie and Anna ban him from their house and lives.  On his way to the police station, Gary threatens David in the street that he’s going to tell the police the truth.  Gary looks nervous at the police station.  (He’s so cute!!!)  David thinks he’s bluffing, but can’t be sure.  David has been stressing all day to be able to get back to his Gran’s house to put the family photos back before she arrives.  However, he’s shocked to hear from Joe that Audrey and Gail are arriving earlier.  Sure enough, the second David gets to Audrey‘s door, Gail and Audrey pile out of the cab.  He tries his best to distract them so he can put the photos back, but fails miserably.  Audrey quickly realizes all her photos are missing, then when looking for her insurance papers in a drawer, she finds them there!  I can’t imagine how confusing this must be for her!!! David looks VERY troubled, very troubled indeed.

What’s the smell?  That’s the sh*t hitting the fan, David Platt!

Coronation Street’s Tupele Dorgu (plays Kelly Crabtree), got married to fiance Mark Flanagan in this big blue cloak?

She just HAD to be different!  Apparently, she’s 30 years old.  I thought she was much older from watching her on the show.  She looks great and all, I just thought she was older.

Her wedding also had a “red” theme (the dagger part).  Katherine Kelly (Becky Granger-almost-McDonald), Alison King (Carla Connor-Gordon), and Vicky Binns (Molly Dobbs) showed up in bright red frocks.

I think a red theme is interesting.  It’s  your wedding, why not have the guests wear red?  Why bother with an old white dress, wear a blue cloak!  It’s your day afterall!
