John Travolta and Robin Williams team up in the Walt Disney Company’s Old Dogs, a family comedy that pairs the two as close business partners whose lives are thrown into disarray when twin seven-year-olds are put into their care. Travolta’s wife, Kelly Preston, co-stars, along with the couple’s daughter, Ella, who makes her big-screen debut here. Wild Hogs helmer Walter Becker directs a script by Evolution scribes David Diamond and David Weissman, with producing duties going to Andrew Panay, Peter Abrams, and Robert Levy.

As will happen around kids, chaos ensues.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

(Apparition) Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flannery, Clifton Collins, Julie Benz. This is the sequel to the cult classic penned by Troy Duffy (the making of which was the subject of the acclaimed documentary Overnight). The brothers MacManus who have been taking it easy in Ireland since the events of the first film find themselves compelled to return to the mean streets of Boston when a priest is brutally gunned down.

Ninja Assassin

He must protect her – and himself – from the world’s most skilled assassins and try to find a way to bring the clan down for good. This stylized anime/video game hybrid is from V for Vendetta director James McTeigue.

The Road

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. The same thing can be said for this new comedy.

In the new comedy from Wild Hogs director Walt Becker,  John Travolta teams with Robin Williams as two advertising agents who find themselves on the fine line between being a grandparent and being middle aged.

Robin’s life changes when his ex-wife (Kelly Preston), whom he married in a shotgun wedding years earlier, drops a bomb on him.

She claims her kids are his and she is going to jail for two months on a protest charge and needs someone to look after them.

This complicated plot turns into a version of My Two Dads or The Game Plan with toilet humor and some very silly antics.

The movie had some gut splitting jokes but all of them were in the trailer. The gorilla scenario, the mixed up meds, Justin Long’s psychotic camp guy and Matt Dillon’s butch scoutmaster are all really funny!

I like slapstick humor as much as the next guy. Heck, my favorite comedy of all time is Airplane! But these jokes felt really, really forced.

When they wrote this film I think they wrote the jokes first and filled in the plot to incorporate the jokes. There are just some of the craziest inconsistencies and ill-conceived plot jumps I have ever seen in a movie.

I took my parents to the advance screening of this movie and they laughed hysterically throughout. Maybe this movie is a generational thing but I just didn’t find it very funny.

John Travolta och Kelly Prestons son Jett avled den 2 Januari, efter att ha ramlat under ett epilepsianfall.

“Vi har jobbat hårt varje dag för att komma över sorgen”, säger Travolta. Stjärnan gör allt för att hjälpa dottern Ella Bleu, 9 år till en filmkarriär. Ella spelar i en filmkomedi “OLD DOGS”, som har USA-premiär den 25 November!

Jag anser att det är bra med terapi, vid en så tragisk händelse!

Now that the Exploitation trial is over and their autistic son is dead John and Kelly can get on the publicity wagon and assist their other seed, Ella in becoming an Actress. Yes you read it right! Ella’s parents are going to coach Ella into becoming an Actress *sigh*.

Okay, this is just one of the occasional Hollywood blogs I throw in, just for kicks. Last night I went to the world premiere of Old Dogs, which was in LA. It was a really fun family movie, and it opens Thanksgiving weekend! Lots of laughs for the fam.

Admittedly, I was just the tiniest bit starstruck to run into some of my favorite actors. First of all, when I grew up Splash was like my favorite movie ever. Mermaids!! So I love Tom Hanks (his wife Rita Wilson is in the movie)…

And Robin Williams…I love Dead Poet’s Society. What a nice guy. If you look to the left, that is him with the glasses. (Still took this sneaky picture!).

And at the party afterward, which is always much smaller than the movie premiere itself, I chatted with the absolutely lovely Kelly Preston.

I started the night with a slick ponytail but half way through the night went to the bathroom and took it down. Have you ever done that when you’ve been out? Not been entirely happy with your hair?? I realize I don’t like myself that much in a ponytail- or maybe I am just not good at making it look good myself. Okay, I’ve thought Seth Green is one of the funniest young actors since Austin Powers, and what a nice guy he is. I didn’t realize how um, petite he is (in a good way!). So I think this picture is funny because next to him my head looks HUGE!!

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston showed love and support for their daughter Ella Bleu last night at Disney’s World Premiere of ‘Old Dogs’.

Fellow film star Seth Green told Tarts, the couple is

“really excited about promoting the movie and introducing everyone to Ella, this being her first film.”

While the threesome declined interviews, those posed together for photographers and gave excited fans a wave as hundreds turned out to get a glimpse of the iconic star and chant his name. They were also snapped out and about in LA over the weekend, appearing to be in high spirits and even told USA Today that they were “healing” with “Daily religious counseling sessions.”

US Magazine reported yesterday about John Travolta saying that ” Scientology Helping Us ‘Heal’ After Jett’s Death”. Actually, his wife Kelly Preston said something like that, namely: “We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily.” (US Magazine, 9 November 2009)

I understand she is talking about auditing, the spiritual counseling of the Church of Scientology. Scientology.org has an article about auditing which I can only recommend. Even better is this video:

The first auditing technique developed by L. Ron Hubbard was Dianetics auditing, covered in his book “Dianetics – the modern science of mental health” (1950). This book is still being sold, on paper, as audio book and as a film, and enables anyone to sit down with a friend and start auditing, right where ever they are, and take control over of those itches and irrational patterns in their live (more – not embeddable – videos about that are here).

The long road to emotional recovery has been a difficult process for the Travolta family after the tragic loss of their son but they are improving.”We’ve been working very hard every day as a family to heal,” said John Travolta in his first interview (with USA Today) since his son Jett’s death. “We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily,” said his wife Kelly Preston. Jett Travolta died after a seizure at the family home on Grand Bahama island in January. He was 16.

The family has re-introduced itself to the spotlight in promotion of daughter Ella Bleu’s new movie. ‘Old Dogs,’ a comedy scheduled for release on November 25th, will be her feature-film debut. “We decided it was OK to come out and promote, to introduce her to the world and to give her a beautiful future in film,” said Travolta. “We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping,” he added.

“It’s a tricky thing. Sometimes, something that’s right for the moment is not right the next day,” said Preston. “Being with people who are important to you, being with people that you love, I think that’s what has primarily helped us the most. Sometimes, being alone, too,” she revealed.

Travolta revealed that coping with his beloved son’s death is a daily struggle. His wife added that the “outpouring of love from, really, worldwide has been extraordinary. It’s been our friends, our family, our church.”

The painful loss has been worsened by a legal case involving a paramedic and Bahamian senator who stand accused of extorting $25 million from the Travoltas with information about Jett’s death. The original case ended in mistrial last month and a retrial has been ordered. Neither Travolta nor Preston gave comment.

Hollywood A-listers have lent the grieving family emotional support. “I just wanted to say I’m sorry, that a lot of people have been thinking about them,” said Denzel Washington. “Above everything else, John is a family man,” he added. Washington and Travolta starred in ‘The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3‘ this summer. “You need your friends a lot in times like that,” John said thankfully.

Um evento de cientologistas na Inglaterra reuniu 4 mil pessoas e, entre elas estavam Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Suri, John Travolta e Kelly Preston. A festa comemorava os 25 anos da instituição internacional de Cientologia.

Fontes disseram para a US Magazine que Tom Cruise estava extasiado na festa. O ator prestava muita atenção em cada detalhe. Ao seu lado, Katie Holmes tentava parecer tão animada quanto o marido.

“Katie fazia o máximo para parecer entusiasmada. Ela batia palmas com as músicas, mas estava fora do ritmo”, disse uma fonte.

John Travolta is the star witness at the extortion trial involving personal documents related to the emergency medical treatment of his son, Jett. Two people are accused of threatening the release of private information connected to Jett’s death unless paid $25 million. Travolta’s sixteen-year-old son suffered a massive seizure that ultimately proved fatal at the family’s vacation home on Grand Bahama Island on January 2, 2009. Tarino Lightbourne was among the paramedics who tried to revive Jett after he collapsed, and he also escorted the boy via ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Lightbourne and former Bahamian Senator Pleasant Bridgewater, who resigned from the Bahamian Senate as a result of the scandal, are charged with conspiracy to commit extortion. Both have pleaded not guilty.

Bahamian police say the alleged scheme involved a document related to the treatment of Jett. That document would have released emergency responders from liability if the family refused to transport Jett to the hospital; however, that did not happen and the document did not come into play. Travolta testified that he signed the release because he initially wanted his son taken to the airport and flown to Florida for medical care. While he did not discuss why Jett was taken to a local hospital instead, another witness testified that he tried to arrange the use of private planes to fly Jett off the island. Unfortunately, none were available on such short notice.

According to police, Bridgewater, an attorney for Lightbourne, contacted Travolta’s lawyer to attempt to sell the document to the actor for $25 million two weeks after Jett’s death. Not surprisingly, Travolta filed an extortion complaint shortly thereafter.

Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston, have maintained a low profile since Jett’s death in January. However, Bahamian law dictates that he must testify in person, so Travolta’s appearance in court on Wednesday broke his silence. In fact, he skipped the publicity tour for his latest film, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3. His testimony also marked his first public description of Jett as autistic, thus confirming widespread speculation.

It is surprising and remains unclear why the defendants allegedly believed Travolta would pay to keep the document secret. It was simply a release and became irrelevant once Jett was escorted to the hospital. As such, the fact that these individuals would think $25 million would be in the realm of possibility is shocking. Their attempt to capitalize on Travolta’s loss is disturbing, and it is an unfortunate display of human cruelty. Hopefully the trial will bring some closure to the family.
