As for the CLOTHING SWAP please POST your sizes up here or send them to me (kalaeallday@gmail.com) so I can make sure there’s more than just you with your size at the event. Also try to bring accessories and other things that are one size fits all. There is no min or max to how many things you can bring and its up to you to barter how you please-there are no rules or guidelines (ie; trade shoes for shoes-u can trade shoes for a sweater and a pair of earrings-who knows) Its all up to the barterer–ALSO anything left over that you don’t feel like slugging back home you can leave with me and Ill make sure to take it to Salvation Army! Donating is very fulfilling- I must say to all you fellow packrats, stop STORING and start DONATING-you dont need EVERYTHING!

That being said, there will be lovely VEGAN FOOD (pot luck style- email what you’re thinking of bringing kalaeallday@gmail.com), good music, great performances and HIGH VIBES!

The Museum of Arts and Design and American Craft Magazine are putting on a series of artists talks called In Print / In Process in which people like myself come talk a little and give a crafty demonstration. I can’t necessarily promise any profound insights into the world of wallpaper, but the MAD is a terrific institution and totally worth a visit. Plus thursday evening is pay-what-you-like style and perfect for these tough economic times. Eric Haze is proud to announce New Abstracts and Icons, a major solo exhibition in New York City of new paintings, drawings, and sculpture. It is the artist’s largest exhibition to date.

Deeply rooted in the graphic arts, Haze has established a vocabulary of personal symbolism with a repertoire representing departures of an abstract and minimalist nature. For New Abstracts and Icons Haze recontextualizes the aesthetic congruences of geometry, symmetry, and repetition through his iconographic lens. “This show represents a clear window into the process I have dedicated myself to over the last three years, with a deeper exploration of the minimalist and pop styles that have always informed my work,” says Haze.

New Abstracts and Icons will be the first event held at Level 2, a newly built-to-suit 2500-square foot gallery space on 812 Broadway and 11th Street. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the opening reception with world class DJs A-Trak and Neil Armstrong providing the audio.

Micuţa Maria Cristina Crăciun despre care echipa Top Românesc a mai scris, va cânta, duminica, 8 noiembrie, în spectacolul aniversar dedicat lui Mihai Constantinescu. Micuţa gălăţeancă va fi invitata Mirabelei Dauer care o susţine în permanenţă în demersul său artistic, pentru a lua parte în acest spectacol. Maria Cristina Crăciun a câştigat anul acesta trofeul la concursul Internaţional Slavianski Bazar din Belarus. În spectacolul dedicat lui Mihai Constantinescu, prezentat de Octavian Ursulescu, vor cânta Angela Similea, Mirabela Dauer, Margareta Pâslaru, Monica Anghel, Alexandru Arşinel, Gheorghe Gheorghiu, Andreea Balan, KEO, Gabriel Dorobantu, Anca Turcasiu, Marina Florea, Silvia Dumitrescu, Jean Paler, Simona Secrier, Raoul, Lucian Darie, Costel Lazaroiu, Maria Andrei, Verona Man, Trupa Autentic, Ciro de Luca. Keo pregăteşte un nou album.  În prezent, artistul lucrează la noul disc şi primul single care va fi extras de pe acesta. Keo va lucra la acest album alături de bunul său prieten, Yorgos Bernardos, unul dintre cei mai de succes compozitori din Franta (Le Roi Soleil, Jennifer, Totally Spies). Keo nu se află la prima colaborare cu producătorul de origine greacă, cei doi lucrând împreună la începutul carierei lui Keo la hiturile “Azi vii, mâine pleci”, “Dacă-aş putea să zbor” şi “În ochii tăi”. “Întotdeauna am colaborat bine cu Yorgos pentru că împărtăşim aceleaşi idei în materie de muzică şi suntem pe aceeaşi lungime de undă. Urmează să ne petrecem câteva zile împreună, timp în care vom definitiva următorul meu single”, a declarat Keo.

Asociaţia Cultural-Artistică BEST ART şi DMB Music Records organizează spectacolul dedicat cantautorului Mihai Constantinescu intitulat “O lume minunata”. Spectacolul va avea loc duminica, 08 noiembrie 2009 – Ziua Sfintilor Arhangheli Mihail si Gavriil, la Sala Palatului, începând cu orele 19.00.Artiştii care vor evolua în cadrul acestui eveniment, sărbătorindu-l pe Mihai Constantinescu sunt: Angela Similea, Mirabela Dauer, Margareta Paslaru, Monica Anghel, Mihaela Mihai, Alexandru Arsinel, Gheorghe Gheorghiu, Andreea Balan, KEO, Gabriel Dorobantu, Anca Turcasiu, Marina Florea, Silvia Dumitrescu, Jean Paler, Simona Secrier, Raoul, Lucian Darie, Costel Lazaroiu, Maria andrei, Verona Man, Trupa Autentic, Ciro de Luca. Andra, Voltaj, Hi-Q şi Keo sunt artiştii care vor susţine recitaluri la cea de-a XVII-a ediţie a Sărbătorii Castanilor care are loc în perioada 25-27 septembrie, în centrul vechi al municipiului Baia Mare. Concertele la care vor cânta artiştii mai sus amintiţi vor avea loc  vineri şi sâmbătă iar ultima  seară se va încheia cu un foc de artificii. Andra şi Voltaj vor cânta vineri iar Keo şi HI-Q sâmbătă.

Printre concerte si pregatirea proiectelor noi, Keo a reusit sa puna bazele unei campanii inedite, special pentru public, numita “Music  for my fans”. Proiectul consta in lansarea catorva videoclipuri live ce contin imagini din concerte si din drumurile prin tara facute de Keo alaturi de trupa sa. “Artisti din afara precum The Killers sau Kings of Leon, obisnuiesc sa lanseze acest gen de clipuri in paralel cu proiectele lor. Cred ca e timpul ca aceasta reteta sa fie prezentata si la noi, pentru ca publicul isi doreste sa-si vada artistul preferat in momente neregizate, neprelucrate si atat de naturale, din activitatea sa muzicala”, spune Keo. Un alt motiv pentru care artistul a decis sa faca aceasta campanie este dorinta de a da fanilor un produs de calitate, pentru ca in ultimul timp, pe internet apar tot mai multe filmari din concerte, inregistrate cu telefonul mobil, in care atat imaginea cat si sunetul lasa de dorit. Primul videoclip de acest gen special conceput pentru piesa “De ce te prefaci?” a fost lansat saptamana aceasta pe Music Channel, partenerul principal al campaniei.
