Yes, we know, this is not a hack, yet it just has the vibe of something we’ll likely be seeing in many small form-factor systems and wearable hacks in the future.

The USB Wireless Handheld Keyboard is a diminutive keyboard and mouse replacement with a passing resemblance to a BlackBerry PDA — where the screen has been replaced with a laptop-style trackpad sensor. This seems a shoo-in for home theater PC use; it’s unobtrusive and won’t look out of place on the coffee table alongside the universal remote. But any tiny system requiring only occasional input could likely benefit.

The keyboard layout is funky as heck, though likely adequate for its intended use of couch web-surfing and interactive messaging (or whatever wild applications our readers will surely come up with). A USB wireless receiver and a charging cable are included in the $62 package. Video after the break…

IRC Exclusive: Legendary Producers Martin Bisi & Bill Laswell Team Up with Fiery Furnances and Dresden Dolls

Martin Bisi is a famed producer who built a recording studio with Brian Eno three decades ago, producing albums for some of the best bands of the 1980’s and early 90s underground rock movement, including Sonic Youth, The Swans, Dresden Dolls and The Boredoms, to name just a few. Bisi, who is also a musician, songwriter and engineer, recently jumped into the sound tank himself to record tracks with folks like Fiery Furnances’ dummer Bob D’Amico, prolific producer and bassist Bill Laswell (The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger and many others), and members of The Dresden Dolls and Balkan Beat Box. Laswell was also instrumental in creating the studio with Bisi and Eno.

In fact, Bisi and Laswell collaborated with Herbie Hancock to record the 1983 Grammy Award-winning song, “RockIt” – the first hit song to feature turntable scratching. Jumping forward to this year, all of this talent in one room is a combination sure to result in something interesting, which is exactly what these next songs, “Mile High – Apple of My Eye” and “Drink Your Wine,” prove to be. The songs are from the recently released five-track digital only EP Son of a Gun, and were sent to IRC by Bisi himself. The first song featured below is a perfect track for Halloween, or even The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack, while “Drink Your Wine” is more of an uptempo rocker that is fun and infectious at the same time (watch the video above).

Of the recording of the EP, Bisi said: “With Laswell, I did the ‘modern’ approach of sending him files, letting him do whatever, and then adjusting. He really surprised me. I was expecting his usual very groove or dub oriented bass, and he gave me something very ambient, laden with effects and trippy. That pretty much sums up the M.O. on this EP…With “Mile High- Apple Of My Eye,” I asked Butterface (the keyboardist on the EP) to give me some programmed rhythms and sounds with a trip-hop vibe, specifically for Laswell to play on, and he turned it around in 30 minutes.”

A group of nerds (see video) at 4iThumbs decided that typing on a flat screen is difficult, I have to agree. Hence’s they’ve come up with an ingenious way to make typing on the iPhone a breeze, or at least, you can now feel you keys. It’s priced at US$14.95 for the portrait mode and US$16.95 for the landscape mode. As of now, I don’t think anyone is selling it in Singapore, but it’s available for shipment.

It’s a simple installation process that can be done in under 5 minutes. What really great about this is that its removable and can be kept at the back of your iphone with the storage stickers provided. You can watch the instructional video for further information.

Hey guys so I recently got the new Blackberry Curve 8900 from AT&T and had to do a review of it against my main phone the iPhone 3Gs. Now even thought I’m doing this review let me first say that the purpose of the phones are soooo different. The iPhone is main purpose is for users who want a fun and entarining phone where as the Blackberry is more of a right down to business phone. So here we go my break down of some of the main features of the phones.

Browser  iPhone

To me the iPhone has a browser like no other. The curve browser is generally slower and takes a lot more to get to a site like zooming in to click links as well as not as full featured browser as the iPhone.

Music     iPhone

The main reason the iPhone has the best music is because its made by Apple which started the entire music player trend. The blackberry really comes no where close.

Signal    iPhone

Now the Curve is currently not 3G for AT&T but even with that calls on the Curve are not ever pleasant and you can hear a lot of background noise like the wind and the calls aren’t very clear. iPhone has a much better call quality.

Speed  Draw

This is actually a tie both phones offer quick responses to opening different functions on the phone.

Apps   iPhone

The iPhone wins hands down with apps. Blackberry has nothing close to the ease of the app store and apps on the iPhone. Even apps like Tweetie and easiser to launch and use then lets say Twitterberry. Apps on the Curve are not as full featured like iPhones Apps.

Design  Blackberry

I have to say Blackberry has a much nicer design then the iPhone. Its sleek and holds nice in the hand and looks more valuable where as the iPhone looks rather simple and plain.

I have to say I enjoy both. iPhone touch keys are better spaced but can be a little hard to judge where as the Blackberry keys are nice to have an actual key but are a little too close together and cramped.

The Blackberry Curve 3.2 Megapixel and flash camera out do the iPhones camera and provide the better picture.

Bisa Anda bayangkan jika meja Anda, menjadi tempat favorit hewan-hewan tersebut karena banyak makanan. Pasti Anda akan terkena virus penyakit yang dibawa hewan tersebut setiap harinya.

Sangat penting untuk menjaga kebersihan meja kerja karena Anda bekerja ditempat tersebut setiap harinya. Jangan hanya mengandalkan tenaga pembersih kantor, untuk membersihkan meja. Sesekali bersihkanlah meja kerja sendiri secara maksimal dan jaga kebersihannya terutama keyboard Anda. Untuk membersihkan meja kerja Anda bisa menggunakan tisu basah yang mengandung alkohol. “The Vengeance Formulation”

Last week, the show chose to split its story between something that works (Sheldon and Penny) and something that doesn’t (Leonard, Wolowitz and Raj on their own), resulting in an episode that was a mixed bag (although perhaps a bit better than I gave it credit for, as my distaste for the latter perhaps overshadowed the strength of the former).

This week, however, the show returns to more of an ensemble structure, and while nothing reaches the heights of adhesive ducks it’s a solid episode as a whole because it manages a reasonably emotional Wolowitz storyline with a cheap but not ineffective Sheldon storyline. There was every chance for these two elements to go off the rails (based on both the show’s tradition of misusing Wolowitz and the presence of Kripke), so the fact that they stayed moderately in orbit makes this a victory, if not exactly an overwhelming success.

When it comes to Wolowitz, I strongly believe that less is more, unless the show decides to do what they did here and turn Wolowitz from obnoxious to introspective. While interacting with a fantasy version of Katee Sackhoff isn’t genius or anything, it allows Wolowitz to stop acting like he runs the joint and actually come to terms with his delusions. The naked bathtub fantasy version of Katee Sackhoff spoke the truth, and while there were signs of the old Wolowitz (feeling more slighted by the fact that Sackhoff’s date was tall as opposed to handsome, since he actually believes he is handsome) for the most part he was honest with himself. Sure, he messes up his romantic overtures to Bernadette, but he was legitimately charming during his tone deaf wailing at episode’s end, and the fact that Howard was given any continuity at all in terms of a relationship is such a huge step forward that I think it’s commendable.

It also shows how even Howard, who to this point one couldn’t imagine in a relationship, is effectively getting the relationship stories that Leonard has been given in the past, except ones that are actually funny. While Sheldon in a relationship might be too ludicrous, and Raj in a relationship has been made impossible by the alcohol gimmick, Howard and Leonard are both effectively eligible, but the show has always resisted treating Howard seriously (by having his actual skills be so outmatched by his capability), sending him off to gothic night clubs and moving him away from legitimate couplings. However, while Leonard’s relationships tended to be neurotic and sort of dull, Howard’s relationship is (to use his own word) quirky in a way that adds a fun dynamic to the show. Sure, I’m not a huge fan of his relationship with his shrill mother, and I could have used less talk about what he was doing in the tub, but for once the show didn’t actually treat him like a horny 15-year old, and for this I was most grateful and certainly entertained.

As for the other half of the episode, it really comes down to how funny you find someone talking in a high-pitched voice and how you feel about Eric Kripke. Twitter user SnowDan mentioned that he likes Kripke because it’s ironic that the university bully has a lisp (which would, outside of that world, make him subject to bullying), but I’ve always felt like that joke has been long ago used up in favour of dialogue that calls attention to the lisp unnecessarily. The idea of Sheldon having a nemesis is funny on its own, which is why Leslie Winkle was more interesting to me (especially because the gender politics of it all wreaked havoc with Sheldon’s already problematic ability to respond in kind) than someone both more dully mean-spirited and less witty. Beyond the broad irony, that for me was not clever enough to sustain the character beyond a first appearance, the character is a normal guy who has a lisp, and most of the humour derived from the character has been through how he says it rather than what he says.

But I thought that this week’s story was less let down by Kripke (who on only a few occasions fell into traps like “Wiot”) and more by a single decision. I like the general principle of the storyline, with Sheldon’s big moment turning into an embarrassment and his attempt at vengeance going horribly, horribly wrong. There’s something very solid about that, and even when I know that we’re never going to get to see the aftermath (since everything will, conveniently for Sheldon, reset next week) the uncontrollable chaos of the final sequence was even communicated through webcam. However, where the storyline suffered was that the joke of Sheldon and his high-pitched voice didn’t appear to actually be Jim Parsons with helium, nor Jim Parsons faking such a voice. Unless I’m mistaken, the voice was looped in during post-production, which if true is a huge disappointment, and took me out of the scene regardless.

There were a number of things in this episode that bugged me a bit, like how the other guys so quickly joined in on laughing at Sheldon on the radio (as it was national radio, after all), or how Raj was too busy making fun of Sheldon to help Leonard try to get him out of bed, or how Penny’s self-awareness about her relationship with Leonard didn’t extend to her realizing that they have no actual chemistry and that sitting in close proximity to each other does not a relationship make. But none of these elements felt like they were the point of their respective storylines: Sheldon’s embarrassment was necessary to get to his vengeance gone awry, and Penny needed to be aware of her own relationship so she could objectively view Wolowitz’s and be able to ward off Bernadette.

And those two storylines worked, coming to solid conclusions that were either narratively satisfying or humorously destructive. They didn’t offer any particular comic highs, but they didn’t offend any of my sensibilities either, so I can’t really complain.

Cultural Observations

• Katee Sackhoff in the tub makes me realize that some part of me feels obligated to watch 24 this season with her being part of the cast.
• It says something about the show’s conditioning to not bother remembering things from previous episodes that it took me a while to figure out if Bernadette was actually the person on whom Wolowitz went on a double date a while back. However, I’ll give them this: her trait of not getting Wolowitz’s jokes was memorable enough that I was at least 75% sure.
• While some small moments bugged me, I thought Sheldon nailing the whoopie cushion gag on Leonard really did prove its comic validity.
• And just in case we weren’t sure, apparently Raj is delicious caramel.
• If Sepinwall writes a review, I think “as soon as I play Cylon and Colonist” seems like the obvious “after the jump” line. We’ll see if I’m right.

Well day 22 is over. At least my typing for the day will be once I finish this post. Another daunting day of typing. I hammered six thousand four hundred and thirty one words out on my Scottish model M today. So I won the bet I made with the boys and they do not get the big bag of candy. They got a bit irritated when every time I passed one of their word goals for the month I played taps through the computer stereo setup that we have. Since their highest goal was twenty five thousand I hit them all. And I did in the twelve thousand in two days too. They were gunning for me towards the end. The first two hours were not all that difficult for me the creative juices were running well. But that third hour was when creativity started to dry up on me and the ideas just would not come. Now four thousand words a day with good creativity is nothing to sneeze at but I had the bet on with the boys. And I am now only nine thousand five hundred and fifty eight words behind. Well it will be less once my main character analyzes this post and rips it apart but the ripping will be tomorrow not now. Today was most a roaring success. I never thought that I could slog my way through twenty five percent of my goal in only seven hours of typing. I feel that I am justifiably proud of myself. Yay me! All for now. Later!

Well it’s not such a new song, but it’s the latest I completed and uploaded to my sites a few weeks ago. At that time I didn’t have time to promote it fully because I was busy writing the film clip score for the Nightingale contest and doing some home renovations. Not really sure how i feel about these… Yes unique, Yes innovative, Yes a fashion statement… however.. there is a limit somewhere… I think this would be cool for like best buys geek squad.

So we all know that fashion and technology have been dancing with each other for years now. This latest WTF moment by designer Erik De Nijs, Erik has stitched together this eye catching pair of “Beauty and the Geek” jeans. Built into the knees are a pair of crotch rocking speakers that really let you rock out to the tunes of your ipod/itunes. Around back you have the added convenience of a back pocket for your “mouse”so you make sure you never leave home without it.  And for you gamers, there is even a joystick controller located just behind the front zipper… lmfao… (no not really).

Kibornya nda ada tulisan huruf atau angka di tombolnya… ya begitulah kibor saya dikantor… tapi saya nda mendapati kesulitan untuk mengetik source code K-SYSTEM ataupun input transaksi sampe dengan ngubah data menggunakan kibor ini…

Mengapa? Karna mungkin entah karna keseharian saya berinteraksi dengan kibor yang membuat saya hafal tombol ini untuk huruf itu… tombol itu untuk angka ini… bahkan dengan mata tertutup pun saya bisa menginput nomor faktur atau kode barang dengan sempurna dengan kibor ini.

Yang membuat heran saya adalah ketika rekan kerja saya minjem komputer saya untuk menginput sesuatu di program… mereka protes karna merasa kesulitan mengetik kode barang atau nomer faktur karna tidak ada huruf atau angka di kibor saya… padahal yo mereka juga sering menggunakan kibor…

Kibor saya juga tombol minus di keypad nya juga sering macet… tombol enternya juga suka mblesep… tapi ada trik kusus untuk membetulkan nya… cukup di getok di tombol nya… di tekan dekan keras… ntar kan balik seperti normal… oleh karna itu kusus untuk dua tombol tersebut dalam kegunaannya sehari-hari tidak boleh ditekan dengan keras…

Hal ini juga sering menimbulkan protes dari teman-teman saya… “Ganti kibor rak wis! Pengajuan to! Plafon ne kan sih akeh! Sangu seko omah! Tuku dewe!” dst dst… ya saya tetep nda mau je… Kasarannya saya udah jatuh cintrong dengan kibor itu… mau di ganti dengan kibor merek logitecth cordless sekalipun saya tetep nda mau… saya udah comfort dan kenal luar dalam sama kibor itu… daripada saya harus selingkuh dan memulai hidup baru, kenalan lagi dari nol dengan kibor laen yang belum jelas asal-usul dan masa depannya mendingan yang pasti-pasti aja deh… pertamina aja pasti pas… masak kibor enda bisa?

Begitu juga dengan pacaran… meskipun udah pacaran 4 tahun lebih… tapi kalo belum mengenal lebih dalam sisi gelap masing-masing pihak ya ujung-ujungnya bakal seperti teman saya tadi… protes… toh dia juga udah kenal sama keyboardnya… kibornya ya sama dengan saya… mereknya ya sama… cuman bedanya punya saya hurufnya udah ngga ceta tapi kok ya enda bisa menggunakan kibor saya yap?

Lebih luas dari dunia pacaran dan patah hati… mengenal lebih dalam masing-masing pihak ada baiknya juga lo… biar lebih sabar dan lebih mengerti bagaimana menangani sebuah masalah… sehingga konflik yang timbul bukannya semakin disiram bensin tapi bisa di padamkan.
