~ “Poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths and biscuits” ~ – Carl Sandburg This step

~ “Poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths and biscuits” ~

– Carl Sandburg

This step is to synthesize everything we’ve learned in Steps 5 & 6 – number, suit, element, and mode – into simple statements. In other words, we get to have a lil fun and mix and match the keywords in order to create mini-meanings or aphorisms to help us out in not only understanding our chosen card better, but also apply them when the card appears in our readings, as we seem fit.

The best part about this technique is that not only can it help us whenever we’re having intuitive dry-spells, but it can even help us with cards that have unillustrated minors that make it hard to read with ‘intuitively’, as well as, whenever we need to do a ‘quickie’ reading where we need ‘instant answers’ without being too ‘therapeutic’. For those of you who do the whole ‘psychic fair circuit’, as well as, those of you who read at parties, events, metaphysical stores, salons, etc, where you have to stick to a fixed amount of time per seeker, and wish not to be too drained at the end of the day; this reading technique can prove surprisingly useful.

What’s even more cool about it is that you can create an infinite amount of aphorisms and statements, as you can mix the keywords in any possible combination, as it suits the reading. So you can even create a set of ‘ready-made’ interpretations for your own personal convenience. However, I feel that it’s important that I mention that the cards are incredibly dynamic, and while this is a good step to follow, never ignore your own personal intuitive impulses at the time of a reading!

And with that, let’s see how we can synthesize the various structural aspects of the chosen card – 6 of Swords.

In this exercise, I’m making it like a mathematical formula (6 + Swords =…). 6 being a variable that contains all the keywords associated with 6, including the fact that it’s ruled by Venus; Swords being another variable that contains all the keywords associated with that suit, including the fact that it’s associated with the element of Air. And since it’s belongs to the Minor Arcana, one of the Modes of a Tarot Deck, all the resulting aphorisms are connected to the “what?” in a situation, and the “what action to take?” For more details on these, please check the previous step.

~

6 (Vanity) + Swords (Cruel) = Vanity and Cruelty go hand in hand.

(If we think about it, a lot of people who are exceedingly vain have quite a cruel streak (Mirror Mirror on the wall…). And yes, this step can also be used to elaborate the ’shadow’ aspect of a card)

~

Wow! Just by synthesizing the various structural aspects of the card, we’ve managed to come up with 15 unique aphorisms which we can use with the card! See, just by understanding the various structural aspects of a card, we can learn so much about it, as well as, be able to create our own interpretations, and apply them to a reading where it seems fit. Some of them, I just created on the spot, because they just ‘hit’ me at the moment. That just goes to show how ‘intuitive flashes of inspiration’ can strike us even when doing something as ‘mundane’ as mixing and matching keywords to create aphorisms.

We shall next see how we can use our intuitive abilities and create metaphors for our chosen card in Step 8: Metaphor.

Till then, have a lovely week ahead.

Love and Blessings

PS: Hey, be a sport, try this out and see how you can synthesize the various aspects of the 6 of Swords (or whichever card you’re doing your own personal Journey through Mary K.
~ “Fucking Courts!” ~ – Moi ^_^ Yes, I still say that whenever too many court car

~ “Fucking Courts!” ~

– Moi ^_^

Yes, I still say that whenever too many court cards appear within a reading. Especially whenever I’m just doing a simple no-frills 3 card reading, and two (and sometimes all three of them) are court cards. Earlier, I used to think it’s only me who had trouble reading court cards, but it turns out, virtually everyone I’ve come across (seasoned professionals, novices, and even Tarot Authors) have issues with the courts. So trust, me, you’re not alone in your frustration regarding interpreting court cards. However, if you say you don’t need any help regarding court cards and that they’re a breeze to read through, then you’re either the great grand master of all things Tarot and should have a shrine built in your honor… or, you’re just a cocky liar, so get off your high horse already

Why are the courts so F*d up?

The answer to that comes from how Tarot evolved. You see, earlier on, when virtually every deck was a TDM (Tarot De Marseilles) or a TDM clone, the courts were all of a set role – King, Queen, Knight, and Page. Very simple, very feudalistic. Kings were all matured/married men (though so many married men I’ve come across are anything but mature), Queens were mature/married women (ditto), Knights were single unmarried men (read horny pigs that shag everything that moves – oh don’t gimme that look, where else do you think the whole ‘Knight in shining armor’ fantasy came from), and Pages were either children or young unmarried women (goes to show the pittiful state of a young single girl back in the day. Come to think of it, such a mindset is still followed in many cultures of the world, but let’s get back to the subject). Everything was fine and dandy, as psychology wasn’t yet created, and minors were all unillustrated pips (yes, I know there are exceptions, but work with me here) so courts totally were used to represent people (‘I see a tall dark stranger in your future’).

Then in the 19th century, The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn came into the picture and began messing around with our limited feudalistic courts. By stuffing all their esoterica (that has oft been criticized to begin with) into the Tarot, they began assigning elements to not only the suits of the minors, but also to the ranks of the courts. Queens were water and Pages were earth (trust a bunch of stuffy old men to call earth a ’step-element’ and assign it to a Page – as an earth sign, I take offense to the degradation of my element). The Knight on his fancy horse was fire (read testostrone fueled) and the Kings were assigned air for their logic and reasoning skills (as if!).

However, while this was assigned, some dude in a tacky traditional robe (yeah, str8 men have no concept of fabric and design) must have gone all, “Hey, shouldn’t fire get a ‘higher’ rank? After all, fire is the primary consort of water, and thus it would be more fitting if the Queens consort was fire instead of air.” And so all the GD honchos decided to ‘promote’ the Knight to King (they actually penciled it in on their existing decks), while the King got ‘demoted’ to Prince or Son. The Queens remained queens, and to create a more balance in the genders, renamed the Pages, Princess or Daughter (woo-hoo, a step in the right direction for women’s lib!).

Not everyone was happy with this. Arthur Edward Waite (who shall now be referred to as Uncle Art for short) and Aleister Crowley (Uncle Al), who went on to create their respective Tarot decks that laid the foundation for the evolution of modern Tarot, had their own take on the courts.

Uncle Art was a stuffy old soul (have you ever read his works? Snoozefest!) and decided to go with the Traditional style of the TDM Courts, and thus reinstating the King and the Knight back in their respective positions, and stripping away the Page off his Princess title.

Uncle Al was a… well, a ‘colorful’ character, and decided to take the GD court model a step further by retaining the Knights original title, and making him the highest station and demoted the King to Prince.

(Dysfunctional) Family Dynamics

In the TDM and RWS (Rider Waite Smith – A Tarot Deck created by Uncle Art and Pamela ‘Pixie’ Coleman Smith) decks, the court ranks are based on the royal households of Europe’s feudal period. The King was the absolute ruler of his domain, which he inherited from his father. His consort was his Queen, who most likely married the dude for political and societal reasons. The Knight is either the king’s military commander or an ambitious young vassal. He could even be the royal heir to the throne and thus proving his prowess through tournaments and battles (and sowing his wild oats into all the young maidens). The Page was either their household servant or foster child, that lived with them and attended their needs (developing a major Cinderella complex while cleaning their ‘royal thrones’ every morning).

In the Thoth Tarot (Uncle Al’s deck which he created with Lady Freida Harris), the Knight and Queen were the primary couple with two children, the Prince and the Princess. Crowley’s family model was part based on pre-christian pagan cultures, and part based on fairytales – Once upon a time, a long long time ago, the world was kinda messed up. Since communities were so far off and isolated, people would end up shagging sheep and/or their cousins to get their kicks. As we all know, children born out of incest and inbreeding just tend to be anything but normal, and when too many of such kind are born, the kingdoms would just dwindle on virtually all levels. The Royal Family was treated like divinity, mainly cause inbreeding never occured, and thus they remained all the more healthier, vigorous, and ‘potent’ than their royal subjects. Thus their vitality were directly linked to the land and their community.

The King was a wise and powerful ruler. However, age caught up on him, and he became infertile. Trying to remain youthful, he still tried to do all sorts of crazy things to prove he was still ‘da man’. In the process of doing so, he ended up throwing out his back, causing him to remain bedridden and unable to really get it up (this is what happens when you decide to pump iron instead of opt for yoga and tai chi). This lead to the land drying up and eventually becoming a wasteland. Upon seeing this happen, big scary monsters began terrorizing the people, as the knew the King was powerless to do anything.

The Queen would sigh and cry, “Oh why is this happening to us? Why oh why oh why?” and she would beg and pray for someone to come along and rescue them. And hopefully be cute enough to marry their daughter who just sits all day in her room singing aimlessly about being ‘awoken’. (Taylor Swift anyone?)

Then one day, a strong handsome and very virile Knight was galloping along, till he heard the most beautiful voice in the world. So captivated by the siren call, that he changed course and began galloping towards the voice. Upon reaching the kingdom, he realized that the voice was coming from the Princesses chambers, and upon gazing at her, he fell in love with her at first sight. But as soon as he saw the state of the land, and the fact that a ravaging monster was breathing fire and stomping around innocent inbred peasants, he boldly went on to slay the beast and save the kingdom. For his courage and strength, he was given the hand of the princess to marry. The Old King and Queen gave up their throne and took to the fancy old folks home in the pre-christian Boca Raton, while the princess went onto becoming the new Queen, with the Knight as her consort. They got it on like a pair of wild monkeys, and gave birth to two children, the Prince and the Princess, and the land was again fertile and abundant. The Prince would eventually be set out to follow daddy’s footsteps to rescue another land in turmoil and rescue it, while the Princess would be groomed to become the future Queen.

And they lived happily ever after.

Oy! And I thought my family was messed up.

That’s all well and nice, but how do I read the effin’ courts?

Well, that’s the tricky part. You see, due to the differences between the RWS, GD, and Thoth systems of court cards, we’re all left confused with the question ‘which one do we follow?’ One way of going about it is to read solely with either a TDM, RWS, or Thoth deck and stick with that system and see how it works for you. That’s all fine and dandy till the point you’re viewing the courts as just ‘people’. However, as Tarot has evolved, we have discovered that beyond mere prediction, Tarot can also be used as a therapeutic tool, enabling us to get a deeper and more profound insight into ourselves and the world around us (and even the universe), and thus, we have come to discover that Court Cards, along with representing other people in our lives, also represent different parts of ourselves. Our appearance can fit in with one card, while our emotional side could fit better with another. Hell, even the way we communicate, make love, achieve a goal, and the various stages of our own lives, can be represented by different court cards. And if that didn’t make matters more complicated, Court Cards can also represent situation (yes, situations) in our lives, where either we have to behave like the court-persona, or the situation itself is a manifestation of that particular court card.

And to make matters worse, different decks offer different perspectives on the courts. Some of them even try to combine the TDM/RWS style with the Thoth systems! And while the GD/Thoth systems have a long list of various esoteric correspondences assigned to each court card, they some how don’t totally fit in well with the TDM/RWS courts, thus sparking public (and private) debate on how to merge the two systems, as well as, how to apply them universally, so that no matter what deck we read with, it all applies therein. And don’t get me started on how all the therapeutic psychological correspondences have been assigned to each court card, that’s a whole different can of worms altogether.

I’ve tried my best to create a set of keywords for the ranks of the courts, so as to share with you my own personal system of handling the courts, as well as, offer another perspective on the Tarot Courts. I am not saying this is the absolute right way! Nor am I saying that I stand by this completely. I’m a human being, I evolve with the times, and always keep an open mind for new theories and practices. For now, this is what works for me, and this is what helps me interpret the damned courts at the end of the day. If it helps you, fabulous! If it confuses you, I sincerely apologize, and if you disagree with my assignations, please feel free to share your thoughts.

But before we get to those, let’s take a brief look at how we can interpret court cards within a reading:-

A person in our life, identified by their physical attributes, profession, role, or even personality type and astrological sign.

An aspect of our own personality, style, attitude, or role we play.

A relationship we have with people within our life.

A spiritual influence at work in our lives.

Events and situations (past, present, and future).

Times or seasons of the year.

Qualities we need to cultivate within ourselves.

How do we know when to interpret a court as one of the above? Well, the answer is simple in theory but complex in application, and I’m sorry, but I’m not able to provide a better answer at this moment – Trust your intuition and go with it.

And with that, I conclude my introduction to the Tarot Court. I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey so far. I shall be providing keywords for each Suit Family in subsequent postings. Thank you for bearing with my rant

Love and Blessings

PS: I wrote this post in the spirit of humor and promoting understanding. I do not wish to offend anyone at all with anything that is written here. There are far too many ’scholarly’ works upon the Tarot Courts that provide way more in-depth info than I have, and though not all of it would match entirely what I’ve posted here, please understand that this is my understanding of the courts, and how I work with them, and how they seem to work with me.

SEO Articles - Quality Or Quantity? Which Is More Important?

Quality or quantity? Whether you use an article service to create SEO articles or search engine opti

Quality or quantity? Whether you use an article service to create SEO articles or search engine optimised web content, an article spinner, or you write articles yourself, the chances are high that you have had to make the decision at one time. Do you opt for quality articles that are hugely effective, or sacrifice quality for sheer quantity, maximising the number of backlinks your site receives?

For most businesses it is a case of looking at the budget, either the financial one or the temporal one, and deciding how much can be invested. However, in terms of article marketing there is rarely such a thing as a happy medium. Consider it a little like choosing whether to stand on one side of the road or the other. In such a case, a happy medium would see you standing squarely in the middle of the road. Not perhaps the most ideal location to choose in order to maximise your chances of a long and happy life.

If there is no such thing as a happy medium for SEO articles, what’s the answer? Is it better to focus on quality writing, or quantity?

A few years ago there was an easy answer to that question. Almost every online marketer realised that quantity was achieving great things, The internet blossomed overnight, though sadly the blossoms were rarely pretty and the scents enough to put one of breathing in for life.

Fortunately the search engines quickly got wise to such trends, and took a stance such that banality would at best be ignored, and quite possibly blacklisted. This meant that those marketers punching out dozens of poorly written, keyword packed bundles of paragraphs masquerading as articles each day were forced to make a decision. Many of them didn’t. You don’t hear of many of those any more.

The focus tilted dramatically towards article service providers and professional article writers able to create SEO articles which did not sound as though a thesaurus and a word processor had nipped off into the stationery cupboard for a quick tryst.

Fortunately today it is becoming increasingly clear that Google’s algorithms have arrived at a point where SEO articles are only profitable if they try very hard not to look like SEO articles. The moment you make it too obvious that you’re trying to optimise your articles for the search engines rather than writing good solid content for real live humans, the search engines will dismiss you.

If you want proof, just take a look at the search results these days. You’ll rarely find keyword stuffed articles or web content anywhere near the top of the results. These days it’s much more about quality than it is about quantity.

But this is where many article marketers have problems, because although good quality writing is admirable, if it isn’t still highly optimised for the search engines then it is simply another drop of water in an almost endless ocean. You may have created the world’s finest wine, but if you pour it into the ocean you won’t create a flood of interest – it will simply vanish.

You need to create wine that floats, catches people’s attention, and starts creating interest. That’s not easy, and that’s why SEO articles are increasingly being produced by professional article services. These are people who are often professional writers with a well-earned pedigree in web marketing and optimisation.

A search engine optimised article or web content article needs to achieve several things, and this is what makes article writing today so much more challenging, and interesting, than ever before.

- SEO articles need to be well written, drawing real interest from real people, not just bots

- SEO articles need to be constructed in such a way that the search engines will consider the content highly relevant and authoritative

- SEO articles must be written so that the search engines do not guess that the content has actually been optimised.

- SEO articles can help your business attract the attention of the search engines and drive more traffic to your site. For an article service that delivers results, read more…

So i took the 60$ credit i have as Google AdWords credit and decided to start a mini-campaign to see

So i took the 60$ credit i have as Google AdWords credit and decided to start a mini-campaign to see how the Pay Per Click advertising model works. Here is the story:

I created a campaign for the Egyptian stock market section that we launched at Yellow Pages, i thought it could use some more traffic. I followed the guidelines and chosen my words and the minimum bidding CPC that google recommends for each word to appear in a good place in the search results page and in the Google partner network websites that are relevant to that topic. After this i specified the daily budget that i want which was 2$ per day that i reduce later to 1$ when i was about to run out of credit later

Here are some words i have chosen that were approved by google as good traffic words: Egyptian stock market, Egyptian stock market news, Egyptian Bursa, EGX30 prices, Talaat Mostafa Stocks, Mobinil Stocks, ….

CPC was pretty cheap, $0.05 for Egyptain Stock Market, some words were cheaper other words were more expensive…. I’m just gonna focus here on this word…

So everything was set and i got around 80 hits on the first day of campaign July 16th 2009.. The larger portion was coming from Google network website not from Google search results page but it doesn’t matter… very nice, i though i just put this to bed… but i was wrong.. look at the below:

On 17 July, hits dropped to 25, so i opened the control panel to see what was wrong, if found that google suggest me to change the CPC bid amount to $0.07 for Egyptain Stock Market instead of $0.05. I did that and here we go again, hits reached 80’s again.

On 21 July and 27 July, I had to re-adjust the CPC again and again until it reached $0.21 which seemed after this that it was not enough… I just started to give up, i can’t keep monitoring this way on aday to day basis… I have other more important stuff to do than adjusting some keywords CPC… I took a look after a while and i found that the CPC recommeneded by google Passed the $1.10 margin!!

I was paying 5 cents for a keyword and getting good traffic. Now i am paying 21 cents and hardly getting any traffic.. Then i was expected to pay one dollar for each click!! All the credit i have (60$) and was planning to use for one month would now evaporate in one day.

I don’t really understand the pattern, what happened during these 2 weeks that raised the bid amount for Egyptain Stock Market from 5 cents to 1 dollar?? is it really people paying more in that word suddenly, does it make any sense that no one was interested in this word at all and all in a sudden everyone wants it?? or was this some way Google AdWords drag their customers to invest more and more by offering words for a little price at the begining and then gradually increasing the value until it reaches the market amount? i don’t really know but i know 2 things for sure:

I don’t like PPC model, too much complicated.

Normal end users and SME would find it extremely difficult to manage this on their own unless provided to them by an advertising agency that manages their account. Putting in mind also the special needs of customers in the middle east and that they would rather have someone do these things for them instead of doing it themselves because it is too “technical”. Self provisioning and PPC model might not be the best advertising solution for MEA region.

The Yellow Pages time-based contractual model is simple, efficient and easy. If you compare it to PPC model it is also much more cost-effective.

If you own an internet enterprise, you want a successful search engine optimization (SEO) campaign.

If you own an internet enterprise, you want a successful search engine optimization (SEO) campaign.

And you always start with the fundamentals— like keyword research. This means that you look for the greatest possible set of keywords for the site and also integrate keywords that are aggressive in the search ranks.

In case you did not know, there are a lot of free keyword research tools on the internet. Google has many applications that can help boost and keep search rankings.

After finding the right set of keywords, a site should have valuable on-page optimization. This task involves having to keyword usage, optimize Meta tags, and content for more accurately targeted keywords and interior link structures.

The last step is creating compelling content, which is the back bone of every victorious SEO campaign. While content is often underestimated, it is a detrimental factor for the interest or disinterest of potential clients on the web.

It is also significant to synergize an SEO campaign to social media and public relations.

Redesigning The Sky’s the Limit has caused me to think more seriously about not only the look

Redesigning The Sky’s the Limit has caused me to think more seriously about not only the look and feel of the whole site but the look of individual posts. There have been a few problems nagging me over the months, and now is the time to address them.

I could be doing a better job at writing post titles and at SEO in general. I want to strike a balance between creating headlines that are useful to you and headlines that feature good keywords.

I’m also revamping the categories and tags. I’ve created categories as needed while attempting to keep them simple. The problem is that they’re not very concise. My tags are a mess. I’ve used both singular and plural variants of some words; I’ve hastily added others that weren’t well planned. There’s always going to be a plethora of tags, but I need several strong keywords which I can utilize over and over in the mix.

A friend who knows about SEO once offered to teach me some things. I hope she meant it, because I’m about to take her up on the offer.

PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + … + PR(Tn)/C(Tn))

1.1.2.- Enlaces entrantes: Texto ancla

Vayamos atando cabos.

<a href=”http://www.enlace.com”>Texto ancla</a>

<title>Tutorial de posicionamiento web, parte I: El gran artista universal</title>

1.3.- Encabezados H1, H2, H3, …

<img src=”imagen.jpg” width=”100″ height=”100″ alt=”descripción de imagen”>

1.7. – Etiqueta KEYWORDS

<strong>Texto importante</strong>

What exactly does Google think about poorly matched or missing meta title and description tags? Did

What exactly does Google think about poorly matched or missing meta title and description tags?

Did you know? Google has the capability to change/modify your site page tags–description/search snippet AND page title– if they can build a better search result…good? bad? ugly?

What do the TITLE and page DESCRIPTION meta tags look like in your page html? Here’s an example:

<title>Buy Bass Fishing Lures Online</title>

<meta name=”description” content=”Search our online catalog and buy bass fishing lures, including crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and neon plastic worms. Blah, blah, blah…”/>

Ideally the title tag shows up as a keyword-optimized top line and the description tag — also keyword-optimized– as the search “snippet”– like this….

In this particular example, when your site is optimized and you’re driving traffic you are potentially well-positioned to rank well for the keyphrase,

buy bass fishing lures

buy bass fishing lures online

or something closely related.

Keyword-optimized page title and description are what Google “looks” for when matching a search query to your content. If your keywords are buried in the page, absent from your title and description tag, OR if you have no tags at all, Google could do one of two things:

1. ignore your content altogether because it fails to match the searcher’s query

OR

2. modify your title tag and search result “snippet” with content snagged from deeper within your page. “They” can replace your lousy or completely absent description tag with something the search engine deems relevant. Matt Cutts calls these “useful titles and useful snippets.” And apparently this has been a Google “policy” for some time.

Yes…they can modify title tags.

Here’s the official lowdown on “Google can modify title and search snippets” from Matt Cutts:

Like wanting to write a winning novel, visiting a bookstore is both daunting as it is necessary research. Just when you thought you’re truly unique and original thought for a book or iphone application has arrived in your head, no sooner does your search not only reveal one results, but often many.

Of course, this didn’t deter other entrepreneurs from continuing and succeeding in an already crowded market. However, being a small shop with linited resources including time and money, we must be very prudent with what battles we choose to wage.

In the first week of owning iphones between the 3 of us, we pursued my idea of “Taxi Hailer.”

Since I often leave the office very late and lazy as I am, I always hail a cab. Sometimes, in the dark of the night and with my dark New York attire, available cabs despite my long reach, drive right by me. Having used the light on my Blackberry to wave cabs down, I began thinking of a better way.

Have you ever seen those very unique clocks with an led wand that swings back and forth to produce the time which appears to float in mid air? They also exist as hand held wands that have customizable messages.

I envisioned something like that, for an iphone, that could be configured to display T A X I in an arc, with the letters forming along the arc. Imagine the site for a taxi driver looking for a fare.

Like discovering a word you can’t even spell with the first 3 letters in the dictionary, finding if an app like this even exists, whether in Google or the app store is a challenge.

We started with “led wand” and that yielded results that didn’t apply to what we meant. Then we searched for “led motion wand toy” and that yielded a toy, which in pursuing that yielded a press release from the makers which included “persistence of vision,” the technical term for the effect. That in turn helped in locating some science behind it and an existing iPhone app that we ended up buying, but could not produce the results they touted.

After some research on YouTube to find a decent demonstration video of this app in action, we couldn’t find any video that proved that it worked. We did find a lot of frustrated users, like ourselves, who were informing the world that the product didn’t work. It received enough stars to warrant a look.

Bo, our chief programmer, concluded that the reason it cannot work is because it’s nearly impossible to oscillate your arm and iphone that quickly in order to produce the same results as the led clock or the toy wand.

And there went that idea. We spent an hour feverishly researching it and about $1.99 for the application. That’s how research goes.

With 2009 rapidly coming to a close, it’s time to start making plans for 2010. And what better

With 2009 rapidly coming to a close, it’s time to start making plans for 2010. And what better way to do that than to talk about upcoming trends in Search Engine Optimization.

In the past, I’ve talked about how important it is for each Web page to have a unique, keyword-rich title to display on a search engine results page.

That advice is still relevant, and will continue to be so in 2010.

But I’m not talking about the “Title Meta Tag” that displays at the very top of your web browser. I’m talking about a different “Title Tag.” This one contains text that pops up in a box when your mouse hovers over a particular word or image on a Web page.

See the grey box with text hovering over the image on the screen-shot below?

Title Tag Displayed on Webpage

That’s a title tag. This device gives you the opportunity to add a fuller, keyword-rich description of the image or word the title refers to. Remember, the search engine spiders are pretty savvy. They want to see unique content. So don’t repeat the same keywords in your title tag. Use slightly different words that still contain the meaning you want to get across to your visitor.

In the example above, the title tag is displayed over a graphic. But you can also add title tags to page links.

If you’re planning on revamping your Web site in the new year, keep title tags in mind. They can be a useful tool to enhance your search engine rankings.

Why Combine Social Media and SEO?

Marketers nowadays are shifting their marketing budget from the conventional to the advanced ways li

Marketers nowadays are shifting their marketing budget from the conventional to the advanced ways like social media and SEO. The combining effort of social media and search engine optimization results in many benefits, such as better social network discovery through search and capability to draw links for enhanced SEO.

Bringing out the most of combining social media and SEO insights can be done with the use of roadmaps that identify the following: your goals, your audience, and your strategy that position the stage for tactics you will be using in your game plan.

From the marketers point of view, you can determine the posititve outcome of social media and SEO in two different ways. The first one is that if you implement a social media marketing plan without optimizing the content, it will be like leaving your money on the table. If useful social content such as images, video, blog, audio and others are left undiscovered via search, this means lost chances to access an audience that could be a potential prospect.

Traffic could be improved substantially if there is a good quantity of cross linking in the posts, basic blog templates optimization efforts, leveraging keyword and other minor changes without compromising content’s quality or user experience.

Media sharing and social interactions among social network contributors produce the kind of content that can enhance a brand’s visibility within search results through blog posts, videos, profile or other media. You need to create social media roadmaps to make social media and SEO programs work efficiently together.

By linking SEO insight in social media marketing effort and vice versa, advertisers, marketers and public relations professionals will be able to extend the value of their investment. A properly optimized social media content marketing effort can draw new network contributors via search.

Last June I received the email below from Google:

Dear Google Analytics User,

As a Google Analytics customer, we know that you care about the quality of traffic coming to your website, so we wanted to introduce you to Google AdWords. AdWords works by placing targeted advertising alongside Google’s search results.
To help you get started with AdWords we’ve sent you a voucher for 50USD of Google AdWords advertising. The voucher is risk and commitment free, so start advertising today and drive more traffic to your website.

Welcome to Google AdWords!
Google Analytics Team

So i signed-up for a Google AdWords account to try it with the 50$ voucher i was given, to claim my voucher i had to pay an additional 10$ from my credit card, so although the voucher is free, you still have to pay something to claim it.

This was not what i expected from the email above which seems to me as if it is really something free to try. It’s just like someone offering you a free cup of coffee or a free snack at his cafe to try it and if you like it you would come back yourself after this. However, at the moment you stepped inside his cafe he asked you to pay some entrance fees that you will get you an extra drink.

Normally i would refuse such an offer. However, i wanted to try Google AdWords platform anyways and 10$ isn’t that much after all…

My Story doesn’t end here. More to come…

Search Engines: If you have been trying to make money online with your website or blog and you want

Search Engines: If you have been trying to make money online with your website or blog and you want your site to succeed you NEED traffic! If you are somewhat inexperienced at this then getting traffic to your site can be costly. But here’s the good part,

You DON’T need to spend a lot of money if any to generate a good amount of website traffic.

With a couple of spare hours, and a little patience you should be rolling in free traffic.

Search Engine Optimization

If you want top search engines to find your website, then proper html structure is what you will need. Many people will take this for granted, but it will surely make a heck of difference to the quality of website traffic over time.

There are 3 HTML tags that every web-page should have on the top of their page.

Title Tag

Meta Description Tag

Meta Keywords Tag

In each of these attributes you should mention your keywords at least once, but no more than two times. If you go overboard the search engines will be more likely to ignore your web-page. Search engines will also pay careful attention to what you have placed inside your header tags. For instance, the most important headline on your web-page should be your “Title Tag”, the second most important under “Meta Description Tag” and so on… So, whatever you are trying to optimize your website for, you will need to be sure that your title tag has that keyword in it.

There are hundreds of search engines out there if not thousands. But the only ones you should really be concerned with are Google, Yahoo, AOL, Ask & Bing.

Once you have your website listed with the main ones you will notice that eventually your site will show up in the less important search engines. This is because most of them are just portals of the popular ones.

Where to submit your website?

Google - Submit

Yahoo – Submit

Bing – Submit

After you add your site to these popular search engines, please remember to be patient. It can take weeks or even months for your site to appear. To check if your site has been indexed, just type in the URL of your site into the search box.

To be 100% sure that your site is indexed, you will need at least 15 – 20 pages. Search engines love juicy content – especially Google.

To be sure you are updated on my next post – How To Get Free Traffic To Your Blog? just subscribe to my blog by using the “Email Subscription” link on the top right corner!

Debates on the use of keywords that equate registered trade marks have brought new challenges for legal professionals. As well-known, the majority of lawsuits on keywords advertising were based on alleged trade marks infringement. However, the courts’ ambivalent treatment of such trade marks proprietors’ claims (see Google AdWords Litigation update for the US and Advocate General Poiares Maduro’s opinion on Google’s AdWords to the ECJ for Europe) might have brought a Wisconsin law firm to observe this set of problems through a different angle.

Representatives of Habush, Habush & Rottier have discovered that when their law firm’s name is sought over internet searching engines, the name of Cannon & Dunphy, a rival law firm, showed up. Accordingly, Habush have filed an action against the rival who does not even deny the purchase of a keyword containing claimant’s name. However, whether based on reasons stated above or not, Habush is not willing to rely on trade marks law, but on Wisconsin’s law on privacy.

In my view a really promissing case. We will see as to whether it will bring some freshness into the keyword advertising complexity.

Although I love writing about info-products and writing, I also love to write about what’s going on

Although I love writing about info-products and writing, I also love to write about what’s going on currently during the time of year. At this time of year, I especially love to write about gratitude because I know and understand the power of the attitude of gratitude.

I use this daily because it’s the antidote for complaints and excuses. If I’m complaining that I don’t have enough work, I turn that around to say I’m grateful for the work I do have. If I’m complaining that I don’t want to go for a walk because the weather is cool and cloudy, I just remember to be grateful that it never gets much below 50 degrees in Southern California. If I make an excuse that I don’t have time to exercise, I remind myself to be grateful that I work for myself and my time is my own.

If you’re complaining about the economy, be grateful you have a job. If you’ve lost your job, be grateful you have your health. If your health is suffering, be grateful for your supportive family. There’s ALWAYS someone or something you can find in your life to be grateful for.

Do you see how this works? Gratitude can turn the negative into a positive. And from all my years of reading and study, I’ve learned that a positive grateful attitude is more likely to receive more good things in life than a complaining and blaming one!

You can say your gratitudes every morning when you arise or just before going to bed. You can write them in a gratitude journal and read them every day. Or you can share them with a good friend over the phone or email.

So what do you have to be grateful about? How about your great family members who you don’t often take the time to tell them how much you appreciate them? Or your special friends, colleagues, or employees? What about being grateful for your car, your cat or dog, your house, and your healthy body? Sure you may be 20 lbs overweight, but everything is working.

Gratitude forces you to turn away from what you don’t really want to spend time focusing on and to realize that you really don’t have it all that bad. If you can spare a few minutes, I’d love for you to leave a comment and let everyone know what you’re grateful for this year.

HAVE A HAPPY AND HEALTHY THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY!

Happy info-products profits,

The Google AdWords system is an awesome concept. It is extremely well thought out and executed, and

The Google AdWords system is an awesome concept. It is extremely well thought out and executed, and consistent with all of the other ideas that have made Google the world’s number one search engine.

Google AdWords is the fastest crash course in street level direct marketing. It is an exciting and challenging skill to learn. It is like fighting a war right from your desktop. You plan, you strategize, you advance, and pull back, you watch for the critical moments to make your move, you outwit your competitor, and hopefully you come home with the thrill and sweet rewards of victory.

Google AdWords is not for everyone. It is as easy to lose money with Google Ad Words as it is to make money if you do not know what you are doing. You should not jump in and start advertising you site if you do not know what you are doing first. That would be like going into a football game without a helmet. Google AdWords is extremely fast, powerful, and exciting, and it can kill you, blow your budget, if you do not know how it works.

The object to successful advertising is to find a method of communicating your information, to as many people as possible, while keeping the cost low. If done right, Google AdWords can be the easiest way to generate traffic, and retain your profits.

If you have heard of Google AdWords you will know that it is not really a pay per click search engine, but a very powerful Google tool that can be used as an advertising template. It is said that the largest Internet based network for marketing is indeed Google. It is a global industry and is a very good way to get exposure on the Internet. If you are ever interested in the Google AdWords you can find it on just about every page that Google showcases, their ad can be found in a little rectangle by the organic search results that are free.

Mastering this challenging monster will energize your mind, excite your neurons, and invigorate your thinking. You will daydream of fresh plans and new strategies in the day and wake up with sudden Eureka moments in the night. It can become an addiction!

The basis premise of the Google AdWords realm is quite simple, the member makes their own advertisement, and then has to bid on a keyword, this key word will then trigger the next step of the process. The next step is where the appearance of the ad can be showcased, to the viewers online. A members site consists of approximately 25 words or characters, this will include spaces so be mindful, it will also allow for a description segment of up to 70 words or characters, again spaces included in the total so you must watch what you are using as description. The great thing about this feature is your site will be posted within just a few minutes of your submitting it to Google. It could even become one of the sites that are sponsored, where they will sit on the right hand column of the search engine pages.

Google’s Ad words runs a little differently than the standard pay per click programs; it is not entirely based on the bid you place on the keyword. It has other factors penciled into the equation, such as the click through rate times the cost per click. This in turn dictates what your page ranking will be in the end of the ratio. You will need a steady flow of traffic to your site prior to this method to be effective, so it is best to get a good game plan in motion.
