Kiba Inuzuka (犬塚キバ) es un personaje de ficción del manga y anime Naruto. Al igual que Naruto, a Kiba también le gusta mucho hablar de sus grandes técnicas enfrente de otros, pero también es un chico con sentimientos, consciente de los demás. Kiba es un chico bastante especial, siempre viste con un abrigo gris con piel negra en las mangas y cuello, usando un gorro acoplado al abrigo. Lleva dos marcas rojas en las mejillas y siempre es acompañado de Akamaru, su perro y mejor amigo. Kiba es personalmente un genio de los animales, pues consigue transmutarse con Akamaru y hacer técnicas devastadores como el Gatsuuga, que literalmente logra partir en dos al desafortunado rival que le enfrente. Su perro es muy astuto -tanto como un humano al parecer- puede detectar enemigos a kilómetros pero no por su olfato -aunque éste también ayuda bastante- si no por una capacidad que desarrollo para detectar el chakra del enemigo junto la cantidad que posee y por lo tanto lo fuerte que es. Kiba es parte de uno de los equipos mejores formados y sus otros dos integrantes son Hinata Hyuga y Shino Aburame.

Familia

La familia Inuzuka está conformada por Kiba, Hana (hermana mayor) y Tsume Inuzuka (madre). Hana es veterinaria y Tsume es Jōnin de alto rango. Hana tiene tres perros a su servicio (conocidos como los Haimaru Sankyodai; la traducción literal del nombre es Los tres hermanos Haimaru; Hai también es la palabra en japonés para el color gris, que también es el color de la piel de estos perros), y su madre posee uno llamado Kuromaru (negro, con un parche en el ojo; Kuro es la palabra en japonés para el color negro). Lo curioso de este perro es que habla; se le ve a éste luchando al lado de Tsume en la invasión de las aldeas de la Arena y el Sonido y en la de Akatsuki. Durante el arco de la invasión de Pain y Konan, Kiba declara que sí llegó a conocer a su padre; pero que su madre lo ahuyentó debido a lo aterradora que es.

Trasfondo

* Pertenece al Clan Inuzuka especializado en ataques tipo bestia, los cuales usan perros como compañeros de pelea.

* Kiba es un joven bastante extrovertido (quizás más que el mismo Naruto) y en combate es todo un guerrero, aunque a veces le guste sobresalir, hace un buen equipo con Shino e Hinata, uno de los más equilibrados .

* El nombre de Kiba significa “colmillo” (preferentemente a los de un perro o del mismo tipo de raza).

* Fue uno de los tres niños que se le acercaba a Naruto Uzumaki cuando era niño además de Chouji y Shikamaru. Por lo general se escapaban de las clases. Es por esto que el trata a Naruto como un amigo de bromas y con toda naturalidad.

* Tiene un agudo sentido del olfato que supera por mucho el del ser humano (según Kurenai el olfato de Kiba está 10.000 veces más desarrollado de lo normal), el cual resulta muy útil para detectar a los enemigos.

* Kiba posee la capacidad de comunicarse con su perro Akamaru, su compañero inseparable de combate. Incluso, la gran mayoría de sus técnicas los incluye a ambos.

* En la pelea preliminar de Chūnin, Kiba se enfrenta en un gran combate contra Naruto y aunque al principio estaba ganando facilmente, pierde de forma irónica por lo que en otras ocasiones es su arma más poderosa, su olfato.

* Kiba es elegido para pertenecer al equipo encargado del rescate de Sasuke y liderado por Shikamaru, en el que también participaron Naruto, Chōji y Neji. Durante el transcurso de la misión le toca enfrentarse con un gran enemigo (que terminan siendo dos grandes enemigos, Sakon y Ukon). Luego de un gran combate Kiba se ve obligado escapar tras ser herido él y su perro Akamaru. Su enemigo lo encuentra y lo pone al borde de la muerte cuando de repente llega a su rescate Kankurō, ahora aliado de Konoha y elimina a Sakon y Ukon.

* Kiba aparece en muchos más episodios de relleno junto a su equipo y a Naruto; como en la busqueda del insecto Bikochu. En otros más donde trabaja esta vez sin Shino, e incluso un episodio se dedica a él y a Akamaru que ha sido infectado con un virus; en su gran mayoria logra realizar con éxito sus misiones, pero como en la del Bikochu, no lo logra debido a la torpeza de Naruto,

Segunda Parte: Shippuden

En Shippuden ha crecido como al igual que su perro, Akamaru, y se ha convertido en Chunin. Él junto a sus compañeros se vuelven a encontrar con Naruto después de que él regresó de la misión de rescatar a Gaara. Naruto le pregunta si se uniría a su equipo para una misión, pero Kiba le dice que ya tiene una misión con el equipo 8.

Templo del Fuego

Después de que Sora se une al equipo de Naruto remplazando a Sai, Sora se encuentra teniendo una pelea con Akamaru. Al llegar Kiba, molesto confronta a Sora y cuando Choji llega y es llamado gordo por Sora, Kiba y él empiezan una pelea contra Sora. Naruto se une a la pelea para poder tranquilizar a Kiba y Choji, sin tener resultados, para que al siguiente momento Rock Lee se una a la pelea creyendo que solo entrenaban. Asuma los detiene a todos dandoles y severo golpe en la cabeza.

La Llegada del Biju de Tres Colas

Debido a las habilidades de rastreo de Kiba y sus compañeros, Tsunade convoca al equipo 8 liderado por Kakashi para encontrar una de las bases secretas de Orochimaru. Mientras el equipo se acercaba al lugar donde Tsunade les indicó que se encontraron señales de Orochimaru, Kiba comienza a recordar su pelea contra Sakon y Ukon, a lo cual Hinata y Kakashi le replican si está preocupado; a lo que responde que es todo lo contrario, que ahora que Shikamaru y Naruto mostraron sus nuevas habilidades contra Akatsuki, es su turno de mostrar sus nuevos poderes.

Cuando llegan a la base, enseguida se empieza a colapsar pero gracias a Akamaru y su nariz logran encontrar una salida. Kiba y Akamaru empiezan a buscar sobrevivientes, pero en el transcurso de esto, Kiba logra escuchar un silvido de alta frecuencia, sospechando que el enemigo usa también perros ya que es un silbido que la gente normal puede escuchar; pero al final Kiba se da cuenta que es una onda ultrasónica usada solo por murciélagos que se encontraban donde ellos estaban y que ahora, muy posiblemente el enemigo ya sabía de su existencia y probablemente sean envoscados.

Cuando los enemigos llegan a atacarlos, Kiba decide ir tras Nurari ya que era quien se veía más débil a comparación de Kigiri y Rinji, pero Kigiri usa su pantalla de humo que roba todos los sentidos de Kiba, provocando que Nurari pueda acertar todos sus golpes sin dificultad alguna. Hinata le dice que se vaya porque puede resultar herido y ella puede ver a través de su Byakugan. Sintiendose incapaz de ayudarla, Kiba es capaz de dispersar todo ese humo gracias a ataques continuos de su Doble Colmillo Perforador (Gatsuga) haciendo que el enemigo huyera al llegar Shino y Kakashi tambien. Guren les tiende una trampa al equipo 8 encerrandolos en un laberinto de cristal gigante y atacándolos con clones de cristal, pero Kiba es capaz de lidiar con varios de sus clones hasta que Naruto y el equipo 7 llega para auxiliarlos. Kiba los guía a donde se encontraba Guren pero al llegar, todos son atacados por una ola gigante creada por el biju de Tres Colas. Perdiendo el rastro de Guren y su equipo, todos son reorganizados en nuevos equipos, Kiba siendo acomodado con Rock Lee y Tenten liderado por Yamato cuya función era detener a cualquiera que quisiera interferir con la captura del Biju de Tres Colas.

Al ser todos los equipos reorganizados y asignados a sus nuevas tareas, Kiba le explica a su equipo las habilidades de todos sus oponentes. Al llegar el enemigo, Tenten y Rock Lee comienzan a atacarlos sin problemas; y Kiba con su gatsuga y con la marca dinámica de Akamaru son capaces de derrotar a Kiho, Nurari y Kigiri dejándolos en un estado muy critico. Este equipo se vuelve a dividir y Kiba se dirige con Yamato para ayudar a Kakashi contra Guren y a capturar al biju; pero después de un fallido intento de capturar a la bestia y de perder a Naruto en el trayecto, Kiba se une a otro equipo de busqueda para encontrar a Naruto.

Al saber que Naruto había sido tragado por el biju de tres colas, Kiba es asignado a proteger el área de los enemigos junto con TenTen y Rock Lee; y enfrentando una nueva sorpresa de que Kiho, Nurari y Kigiri han vuelto con nuevos poderes, son derrotados pero no reciben graves heridas. Kiba logra esconderse del enemigo cavando un olló donde él y Akamaru se esconden, solo sufriendo una pequeña herida en su pierna. Kiba decide ir con Kakashi para informarle sobre el nuevo poder del enemigo, pero en el camino se encuentra con Sai apenas vivo, que también había sido atacado por estos tres enemigos, asi que lo ayuda.

El equipo de Kiba llega donde Kakashi y los demás derrotaron ya a los subordinados de Guren pero igualmente, no logran conseguir la captura del biju de tres colas. Tsunade les da ordenes de regresar a la aldea para preparar una nueva estrategia y esa noche, Kiba discute con Naruto por haber dejado ir a Yukimaru sin haberse dado cuenta pero sabiendo que se encontraba bien y con Guren, regresan a la aldea, teniendo éxito en la misión de encontrar la base de Orochimaru, pero fallando en la misión de capturar este Biju.

Persecución de Itachi

Kakashi formá un escuadrón de 8 hombres conformado por el equipo 7 y 8 cuya misión es encontrar a Itachi para así poder llegar a Sasuke. En el camino, en vez de encontrar a Itachi, Kiba es capaz de captar el olor de Sasuke, algo que ni los sabuesos ninja fueron capaces de hacer; permitiendo al escuadrón de 8 hombres ir tras Sasuke. Al ver esto, Kakashi felicita a Kiba e incluso dice que todo el clan Inuzuka debe estar orgulloso de él debido a que sus sentidos, y más el olfato, han evolucionado increiblemente y son mejores que cualquier perro ninja de busqueda. Sin embargo, en el camino se encuentran con Tobi de Akatsuki. Su batalla comienza, pero ninguno es capaz de darle un sertero golpe. Naruto falla con su rasengan, Shino igualmente falla con su técnica secreta Esfera de Insectos, y Tobi gracias a su jutsu tiempo/espacio se desvanece lo cual pertuba a todos ya que los insectos de Shino deberían de haberlo seguido a donde quiera que él fuera; ni si quiera el Byakugan de Hinata es capaz de verlo. Kiba es el unico que siente su rastro y lo ataca por sorpresa, lamentablemente fallando también con su ataque al igual que todos, aunque logra romperle parte de la máscara permitiendo dejar al descubierto parte de su Sharingan. Zetsu aparece y cuando dice que Itachi ha muerto, la misión queda como fallida al no lograr llegar a Sasuke antes que Zetsu y Tobi.

Invasión de Konoha

En la invasión de Konoha, Kiba ve la devastación junto con Hinata, Shino e Ino. Él y su madre Tsume se enfrentan contra uno de los cuerpos de Pain (del reino de los fantasmas hambrientos), haciendolo retroceder gracias a sus técnicas de combate cuerpo a cuerpo (taijutsu); cosa que para ese cuerpo de Pain era su mayor debilidad; pero este es invocado enseguida para realizar el shinra tensei evitando así la pelea. Tsume dice que huyo de su fuerza y que le tuvo miedo; a lo cual Kiba le responde que fue el mismo caso con su padre. Luego del Shinra Tensei Kiba se encuentra herido entre escombros pero vivo y su madre le dice que espere ahí en lo que la ayuda llega. Después vemos a Katsuyu con Kiba de nuevo diciendole que Naruto pelea solo contra Pain, y Kiba respondiendo que ahora solo pueden tener fe en él, mostrando que se encuentra mejor. Más tarde, al Naruto ganar la pelea contra Pain y regresar victorioso a la Aldea, es uno de los muchos que van a felicitarle.

La Reunión de los Cinco Kages

No mucho tiempo después, Kiba corre con Naruto, Sakura y Kakashi para decirles que Tsunade ha sido revocada de su puesto de Hokage y Danzo ha tomado su puesto como el Sexto Hokage. Kiba también les informa que Danzo ha declarado a Sasuke un ninja renegado y ha dado la orden de su captura, ya sea vivo o muerto. Mientras la reunión de los Kages procede, la generación de Naruto se junta para discutir sobre el asunto de Sasuke, Kiba encuentra que él ya ha cambiado y parece dispuesto a tratar de detenerle.

A petición de Sai, Kiba lo acompaña junto a Sakura y Rock Lee en busca de Naruto. Su trabajo es encontrar a Naruto en la Tierra del Hierro pero también olfatear y encargarse de que ningun otro miembro de Raíz de los Anbu o algun otro enemigo los este siguiendo.

Técnicas

* Gijyuu ninpou, Shikyaku no jutsu (Técnica de mimetismo Animal): Kiba usa esta tecnica para que su cuerpo adquiera rasgos animales, como por ejemplo. garras .
* Juujin Bunshin (Clon bestia): Con esta técnica Akamaru toma forma humana y ambos atacan al enemigo.
* Tsuuga (Colmillo de perforación): Kiba lo usa despues de realizar el Gijyuu ninpou, Shikyaku no jutsu es igual que el Gatsuuga pero lo realiza sin Akamaru.
* Gatsuuga (Doble colmillo de perforación): Con esta técnica tanto Kiba como Akamaru (en forma humana) giran a gran velocidad y forman una barrena para atacar al enemigo.
* Garoga (Doble colmillo de lobo): Ambos usan el Jinju Konbi Henge y hacen un Gatsuuga más poderoso que es incluso tan poderoso como para casi perforar la mejor defensa de Orochimaru.
* Jinju Konbi Henge (Transformación bestia de dos cabezas): Akamaru y Kiba se transforman en un lobo gigantesco super poderoso de dos cabezas.
* Dainamikku Maakingu (Marca Dinamica): Tecnica que Akamaru perfecciono con la ayuda de Kiba que consiste en que Akamaru dispara su orina hacia el enemigo con una serie de vueltas cegando al oponente por un tiempo y marcandolo con el olor.
* Senpuu Rouga (Torbellino del Colmillo de Lobo): esta técnica fue desarrollada por Kiba durante el transcurso de tres años con el fin de proteger a un ser querido para él. Esta técnica no se ha visto en el manga o en el anime, sin embargo, en el Tercero Libro de Información de Naruto (Naruto Third Databook) en inglés, se puede constatar el hecho de que esta técnica existe, es conocida y creada por Kiba de acuerdo a lo escrito por el autor del manga Masashi Kishimoto.
* Soujin Rouga (Doble Impacto del Colmillo de Lobo): Fue agregado en el videojuego Naruto Shippuuden Narutimate Accel 2 como un ougi; Kiba y Akamaru corren a una velocidad increíble dando de sarpasos por toda la tierra; al llegar al oponente, ellos empiezan a dar una gran cantidad de sarpasos contra el enemigo, finalizando Akamaru con una gran mordida y Kiba con un golpe mas fuerte.
* Juujin Taijutsu Ougi, Tensouga/ Hijutsu, Tensouga (Ténicas Marciales Secretas del Hombre Bestia, Colmillos Gemelos del Cielo/Paraíso): Fue agregado en el videojuego Naruto Shippuuden Narutimate Accel 2 como un ougi; consiste en que kiba(shippuden) y akamaru realizan un gatsuuga el cual lo fusionan y crean un garoga muchas veces más grandes que este que deja un enorme agujero en la tierra y puede perforar cualquier tipo de defensa.

Naruto, Chapter 470

Another exciting week from Naruto! This chapter was basically divided into two parts — the wrap up of Sakura’s confession to Naruto (go here if you have no idea what I’m talking about) and … the start of the battle between the sadistic Akatsuki member, Hoshigaki Kisame, and the 8-Tails Jinchuuriki, Killer Bee!

Maybe it’s due to a translation issue, but the end of Naruto and Sakura’s converstion was slightly vague. They went back and forth, and in the end, Naruto still didn’t believe that she genuinely has feelings for him, and Sakura stormed off to go look for Sasuke, herself, with Kiba, Lee, and Sai. I believe she was using the “I love you” card as a feint to get Naruto’s mind off Sasuke, but Naruto is way too dedicated to finding and saving his criminal(ly insane) homeboy.

The issue kicks up when the scene switches, and Kisame mounts his attack against Killer Bee and his newfound music teacher, Sabu. While distracted by Sabu, Killer Bee launches a pencil — yes, a pencil — at Kisame’s head, which he barely dodges. Infused with lightning chakra, Kisame admits that he would have been killed by the electrified pencil had he been hit with it — a definite nod to Bee’s strength. As the battle continues, Kisame reveals the chakra consuming power of Samehada, his sword, and because of this, proves a match for every one of Killer Bee’s attacks.

Both fighters regroup, and the chapter ends with the full transformation of Samehada, which honestly caught me off guard. Turns out, its a giant, disgusting looking, shark-like object with a giant mouth at the end. Here, take a look!

Weird, huh? Good chapter, overall — c’mon next week!!!

^Favorite moment: on page 12, Kisame reveals the never-before-demonstrated ability of the handle of Samehada to extend in a whip-like manner, giving the sword added range, and even more deadly power. Honestly, I don’t know if you can really call this weapon a “sword”, at this point.

Naruto Shippuuden, Episode 134

First off, I am quite impressed with the Naruto animation staff. It seems they finally got the message — the “non-big-battle” episodes usually have terrible animation, but this one had great quality. Awesome. Secondly, the series is really picking up in speed. This is the episode before the Sasuke/Itachi fight, which is running kind of close to catching the manga. I’m predicting it right now — fillers are coming soon.

On to the episode. The “Hunt For Itachi” is in full swing, as both Sasuke’s and Naruto’s teams narrow in on the villanous Uchiha. The episode opens with Sasuke entering a cave, confronting Itachi, and promptly impaling him with a lightning sword. Of course this would be way too easy a defeat for the monstrous Itachi, and the “Itachi” turns out to be nothing more than a shadow clone, that tells Sasuke to meet him in the Uchiha hideout, alone.

On the way there, Sasuke actually runs into a shadow clone of Naruto, which gives the Konoha team Sasuke’s position. They quickly switch direction and look to intercept him, but there is no interference to be had in the confrontation between Itachi and Sasuke. In an embarrassing display, the Konoha shinobi are confronted by Tobi along the way, and held up from reaching Sasuke. Through a series of strange techniques, Tobi utterly toys with the ninja, and keeps them pinned down.

Similary, Kisame halts Sasuke’s team on the way to Itachi, and only lets Sasuke pass. To kill time, Kisame and Suigetsu engage in a sparring match — yet another scene that wasn’t included in the manga, so it was cool to see in motion.

At this point, only Sasuke is left to proceed. The episode ends with him walking toward Itachi’s location, with his trademark “i’m such a cool guy cuz i live life by revenge” look in his eyes.

Overall good! Again, the quality animation was the most surprising part — c’mon next week!!!

Favorite moment: I almost fell out of my chair when it happened. At 18:18, when Sakura charges Tobi, he dodges and says, “Olé!” — in the middle of a battle … in a Japanese anime. This man was chillin’ way too hard, at that moment.

It’s finally time for the Kisame VS. 8-tails. Who will win? And will Sakura finally talk to Naruto?

Chapter 3: Bewildered

Wednesday’s child is full of woe – Hinata/Kiba.

Hinata looked at the small garden in satisfaction. She’d been tending it all afternoon, tidying up flowerbeds in front of the neat little house she and Kiba had recently purchased. It was actually not a little house, a better term might be a tiny house. It only had two bedrooms. But that was all they would need for now.

She sat back on her heels and smiled up at the sky in the spring sunshine. Yes – they would only need two bedrooms for now. One for her and Kiba and one for the baby. She let her hand come to rest on her stomach and smiled again. Her baby.

They hadn’t exactly been trying to have a baby. Then again they hadn’t been trying not to.

But one day, at the very end of winter, when the first few frost-hardy flowers were starting to peek out she had looked at her calendar and realized that maybe…she might be late. She tried to force herself to be calm, one day was nothing, maybe if she was a week late or ten days late or something like that, then maybe it would be worth telling Kiba, getting a test, checking to see.

So she had forced herself to wait at least a week.

She smiled to herself, sitting in the sunshine in the garden, remembering the stunned look on Kiba’s face when she had told him the results. For a moment he had sat quite still in shocked amazement. Then he had grabbed her and hugged her tightly only to let go almost immediately, afraid he would break her. The two of them had fallen laughing against each other. They were going to have a baby!

Hinata came back from her reverie as Akamaru, the large white hound, nosed open the garden gate and joined her in the backyard, seeking out a sunny spot to lie down and stretch out. Expecting Kiba, too, when he didn’t appear, she called his name. No answer.

Odd.

Oh, well, she knew that after diplomatic missions, sometimes the shinobi escorts had lengthy debriefing sessions. She hadn’t really expected Kiba home this early anyway but it was still surprising to see his dog. Akamaru generally stayed with Kiba whether it was a daring rescue mission or a boring debriefing meeting.

“Hello, Akamaru,” she said, reaching over to ruffle his ears gently. The big dog thumped his tail in appreciation once or twice but remained lying there on his side looking at her. “Where’s Kiba, boy?”

She didn’t really expect an answer, Akamaru simply thumped his tail in acknowledgment.

Hinata had tried to make an appointment for a pre-natal checkup right away and been surprised to find out she’d have to wait two weeks, apparently Konoha was in the midst of a serious upswing in maternity patients. She supposed that’s what happened when peace broke out and had wondered if the same thing was going on in the other nations.

Hinata stood up, wincing at the twinge of pain across her lower back. She must have been working out here longer than she realized, kneeling among the delicate young plants. She straightened and stretched, rubbing the knotted muscles in her back gently. Akamaru rose and went to the garden shed with her as she stored her implements away.

Smiling secretly to herself she was thinking that it was actually three of them going to the shed, she and Akamaru and the baby. She had had her first appointment with Shizune who had confirmed her pregnancy, estimating she was about six weeks along and sent her home with a load of books and vitamins and hearty congratulations. So yes, she and Akamaru and the baby were now putting the tools away in the shed.

That was two weeks ago. And the day Shizune confirmed her pregnancy was the day Tenten and Lee’s daughter had been born. Whether it was superstition or her reserved nature or her old-fashioned upbringing, Hinata decided to keep her own secret to herself. She wanted to share fully in the joy of Tenten’s happiness, Temari was due any day now and Ino within the next few weeks. She would wait before she told her friends. By the time Ino’s baby was born, Hinata would be through her first trimester. It was difficult to get Kiba to agree to keeping quiet, but he did promise.

Hinata passed her hand across the small of her back, wishing the ache would stop. She stowed the last of the garden tools away and shut the small shed door behind her as she headed for her house. Maybe a nice warm shower and some tea would relax her.

As they headed back to the house, Hinata glanced at Akamaru. “Maybe you’ll be getting a bath this weekend, too, boy. I don’t know what you and Kiba got into on this mission, but you, err, smell bad, Akamaru.” For an answer he just swished his tail gently.

Glancing at the clock as she went through her kitchen toward the bath, Hinata felt sorry for Kiba. This must be turning into one seriously long boring meeting. No wonder Akamaru had bailed out. Kiba still wasn’t home, even after she finished a rather lengthy shower.

Toweling herself off, she realized that not only was her husband still not home, she also didn’t feel any better. Her back was still tense and knotted, a band of tightly bunched muscles across her lower back that she could not seem to get to relax.

Slipping into a loose robe Hinata padded barefoot into the kitchen to prepare tea. As she waited for the water to come a boil, she stood, continuing to try to rub her muscles across her back, wondering if there were some mild pain reliever it was safe to take. There was probably a list of things she would be allowed to use in the literature that Shizune gave her. Once her tea was ready she went into their cozy living room to read through it again.

Settling onto the couch, Hinata shifted this way and that, unable to get comfortable. It wasn’t a sharp pain at all, but persistent, dull and aching. Akamaru joined her, lying on the carpet in front of the couch beside her. Hinata reached down, rubbing his silky ears.

The discomfort continued. Lying on her back helped a little but not much. She was alarmed when the band of pain seemed to extend around her sides, reaching to the middle. Briefly she panicked, wondering if she should go see someone, call a doctor or what. But that was foolish, the pain really wasn’t that bad it was just frustrating that it was so relentless. Finally, after tossing and turning on the couch, Hinata slipped into a light sleep, her fingers still resting on Akamaru’s head.

“Hinata?” Kiba called as he came in the door. “Akamaru? Where are you guys?”

From the entryway to his home, Kiba heard Akamaru’s tail thump in welcome. “Akamaru? Come here boy.”

Akamaru yawned and stretched and sat up, remaining beside Hinata. The petite brunette was waking up herself. “Kiba,” she smiled up at him, “You’re home.”

“Yeah,” he slung his pack of belongings down to the ground beside the couch. “Stupid meeting dragged on and on.” He studied her curiously. “Are you okay?”

“Yes,” she said hesitantly, “I…think I must have hurt my back gardening today.” She stood up to hug him, expecting to still feel pain in her back but she was very much relieved to find out that she felt better, most of the pain had subsided.

“You should take it easy, Hinata,” Kiba said bending down to kiss her.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Kiba, I was just planting flowers.” She smiled, “You’ve been out of town, what do you want me to make for supper?”

It was so nice to have Kiba back. Truth to tell she had been a little concerned when she felt so bad earlier in the afternoon and he wasn’t around. Simply having him home made her feel better, more at ease. They’d filled each other in on their missions, his away from Konoha and hers carried out in town this week. Hinata realized how much she had missed him, how complete her life was with him in it. After a week without him, it was the most wonderful thing in the world to fall asleep in his arms that night.

The next morning Hinata awoke to the greatest shock of her life. A single drop of blood stained her underwear. Hands shaking she managed to get dressed.

What was wrong?

Could she have been mistaken? Was her period starting? Had she never been pregnant at all?

Her mind was racing. Don’t be ridiculous she chided herself. She’d done a test herself AND Shizune had confirmed that she was pregnant.

Eight weeks.

She’d even started having some morning sickness. Of course she was pregnant.

But what about yesterday? Was she confusing her backache with menstrual cramps? It hadn’t exactly felt like that but what exactly did being pregnant feel like, what should it feel like? She really had no idea.

Everyone, Tenten, Temari, Ino, they all talked about backaches, but that was when they were further along, when the baby was bigger.

Her backache from yesterday had completely subsided. She wasn’t feeling any physical pain at all any longer. As a matter of fact she actually felt fine.

A mild backache that went away after a shower and a nap.

A single spot of blood.

Sometimes there was spotting during pregnancy wasn’t there? She’d heard about that before. This certainly qualified. A spot was a spot. It was hardly more than a spot.

A mild backache that was completely gone now and one single solitary spot of blood. She was making something out of nothing. Taking a deep breath and trying to force herself to be as objective as possible she had to acknowledge that yes, she did feel fine, certainly better than yesterday afternoon. She was not going to be a panicky little girl over a single drop of blood.

She made a promise to herself, if she felt the least little bit bad or if she had one single additional spot she would go to the clinic right away. Otherwise she was not going to panic over these trivial little things.

She and Kiba spent the weekend relaxing together and working on their little house. Kiba was insistent on her ‘taking it easy’ and this time she was happy to oblige. One shock on Saturday morning was enough.

Monday morning came. When Hinata went to shower she discovered her nightclothes were thoroughly stained with blood. No pain, no discomfort, not even menstrual cramps, just blood. Weeping softly she managed to shower, clean herself up and dress. She remained in the bathroom for some time, crying quietly into her hands until Kiba’s worried knock came at the door.

“Something’s wrong,” she whispered as he folded her into his arms when she opened the door.

“What? Hinata are you hurt? Are you sick? What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know,” she answered truthfully. And honestly, she didn’t feel any pain or nausea at all. Physically she had to admit that she felt fine. But her heart was breaking. “I need to go to see Shizune.”

“I’ll go with you.”

Hinata shook her head. She couldn’t explain it, she just knew she needed to go herself. “No. Please, just stay here. Just wait for me here at the house until I get back. That’s what I need for you to do.”

“Hinata…,” Kiba started to protest.

Hinata realized then very definitely why she didn’t want him to go. “Kiba, I don’t want you in the examining room and I…I don’t want the first time I see you after I see her to be in some waiting room. I want to see you when I come home. Wait for me here. That’s what I need you to do for me.” Her voice was very firm and he reluctantly agreed.

* * *

“Hinata?” Shizune knocked gently at the door of the examination room.

“C-c-come in,” Hinata answered softly.

Shizune entered, carrying her charts with her. “Hinata? What seems to be the problem? You’re not due back for a monthly checkup for two weeks.”

“I-I-I think there’s something wrong, Shizune-san,” Hinata whispered, looking down at the floor.

“Oh. I see. Can you describe the symptoms you’re having?”

Shizune listened patiently as the younger kunoichi explained her extremely mild symptoms over the weekend culminating in the events of this morning. “What…what’s wrong?” Hinata finally asked in a quavering voice.

Shizune put a hand on her knee and answered her. “We’ll run a few tests then we’ll know more.” She went to a cabinet and opened a drawer, pulling out an examination gown, passing it to Hinata.

“Shizune, I’m…I’m bleeding,” Hinata whispered, hesitating to take the gown, not sure if Shizune had understood the gravity of her situation this morning.

“I understand. That’s okay, Hinata. I need to examine you to make sure you’re okay. You can change and then knock on the door to let me know when you’re ready.”

After the examination, Shizune also took a blood sample. “While you change back, I’ll test this. I’ll be back in a few minutes.”

“What are you testing for?” Hinata asked.

“We test for the presence of human growth hormone. We’ll know more after the test. I’ll be right back. You go ahead and change and get comfortable.”

Getting comfortable was something Hinata was sure she would never be able to achieve for the rest of her life. Yet she obediently changed into her regular clothes, deposited the examining gown in the appropriate container and sat in the regular chair in the room waiting as patiently as possible for Shizune.

When the medic nin did return her expression was composed. She sat in the chair beside Hinata, chart opened on her lap and began to speak. “Hinata, your blood test does show a level of human growth hormone we would expect at around eight weeks of pregnancy. You are most likely pregnant. However, there is no heartbeat that I can detect and given your symptoms it is probable you are miscarrying.”

Miscarrying?

What did she mean ‘miscarrying?’ A miscarriage was something dramatic and sudden like in the movies where the actress suffers a fall or an injury in battle. “But I haven’t fallen,” Hinata spoke up, “I haven’t been injured, I’ve done no stressful training, nothing like that at all.”

“I know,” Shizune tried to sound reassuring, “I know. But sometimes…this just happens. We don’t really know all the circumstances that lead to it.”

Hinata sat in stunned silence. Miscarry-ing? Not miscarriage? As in not an event that happens but a process that’s on-going. She was sitting here, in Shizune’s office miscarry-ing? If it was a process could it be stopped?

“What can I do? What can we do to stop it?”

“Hinata,” Shizune’s voice was very soft and kind. “This is your body’s way of dealing with a pregnancy that most likely wasn’t viable. What we do is we wait. Go home. Rest. Come back and see me tomorrow, we’ll check your blood again.”

Hope crept into Hinata’s voice. “Do you think tomorrow…?”

“We need to check the HGH levels to see if they are falling appropriately. They should fall at a certain rate as your body goes through the process. If they continue to fall, we shouldn’t need to intervene, you’re very early on and your body will take care of everything.”

“But what if they go up? Or at least stop falling? That’s good right?”

Shizune shook her head. “Hinata, I am sorry but there is no heartbeat. It’s extremely unlikely the HGH levels will go up. We need to make sure they continue to drop. If they don’t you may need a D&C.”

“Oh.” Hinata sat in silence on the examining table, trying to process all Shizune had just said.

“You can stay in this room as long as you like, Hinata. Take your time Come back and see me tomorrow.” Shizune said kindly as she left Hinata alone to collect her thoughts.

The walk home was long but the weather was pleasant and it gave her time to clear her mind. Clearing her mind was about the best she could do. Hinata couldn’t really think cogently about any one thing. It was all just too overwhelming.

She had been pregnant.

But now she was not.

Or she was at least in the process of not being pregnant.

When did you stop being pregnant?

She and Kiba were going to have a baby.

Now they were not.

She had been a mother…for about 8 weeks.

Now she was not.

Was she?

Kiba met her at the door and they just held each other without saying a word. Hinata thought she really might be able to get through this without breaking down into tears until she saw the flowers. Kiba settled them both onto the couch, pulling Hinata into his lap. “I got white flowers,” he whispered against her hair, “because I didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl.”

* * *

The next appointment with Shizune was very much abbreviated. No examination was necessary, she just stopped by the lab for them to draw a vial of blood then went and waited for Shizune to follow up with her in her office.

Hinata didn’t have long to wait. Within a few moments, Shizune joined her. “How are you feeling?” she asked the younger woman.

Hinata simply shrugged, “I feel…okay I guess. How am I…doing?”

Shizune showed her the results from the two tests. “The amount of HGH is dropping, as we would expect. I am sorry, Hinata. You are miscarrying.”

There it was again. That strange word that only yesterday had no meaning. Miscarry-ing. A process. Apparently the process was proceeding as expected.

“I see,” Hinata answered numbly. “What happens now?”

“I’d like you to come back each day the rest of this week so we can monitor the levels in your blood. You don’t need to see me, unless of course you have questions or problems. You can just stop by the lab and let them draw your blood. Then come by two or three times next week for the same thing. Let’s say the rest of this week and Monday, Wednesday, Friday of next week. We can meet again and talk next Friday.”

Hinata nodded. “And what should I do?”

“Take care of yourself. Sleep. Rest. Eat healthy. Train lightly. Only take missions if you feel up to it, only in town for the next two weeks.”

“Shizune, was there anything I should have done differently.?”

“Hinata, this happens in the first trimester in about 20% of all pregnancies, even to healthy women like yourself. Some research suggests it may even be much higher if you consider the possibility of conception and then miscarriage occurring before the first menstrual cycle, where the woman may never even realize she is pregnant. This is nature’s way of dealing early on with a pregnancy where there may not be a viable outcome. Your body is healthy and strong and handling this gracefully. You didn’t do anything wrong. As a matter of fact, what your body is doing now is right for this particular circumstance.”

Hinata nodded quietly as she watched Shizune make a notation in her chart and graph the numbers.

She’d tried to explain it all to Kiba that night but kept tripping over words, trying to reconcile in her mind the concept that while her baby was gone she was actually quite healthy. It seemed preposterous that miscarry-ing was a process that was so common. Reluctantly she had to admit to herself that she did feel fine, just tired and that was probably more from simply worrying about it than from anything else.

Kiba was able to say it all much more succinctly. “I’m glad you’re okay,” he said as he kissed her.

The rest of the two weeks dragged past. Somewhere in the middle of it Shikamaru and Temari’s baby girl was born. Lee and Tenten were settling in at their home with their daughter by now. The young Nara family went home in a couple of days. Hinata visited them all as well as keeping her appointments at the lab faithfully. By the end of the two weeks, Hinata wasn’t pregnant anymore, either.

It was rather surreal sitting in Shizune’s office and hearing the news. She looked at the graph Shizune had kept of her falling hormone levels, the line gently tapering away to nothing, sloping toward the bottom of the graph. It was the complete opposite of what she’d expected, measurements taken each month of a swelling belly, measurements taken and charted of a baby’s healthy growth.

“So what happens now?” she asked Shizune.

Shizune smiled back at her. “What happens now is you go live your life and be a healthy kunoichi. Give yourself three months before trying to get pregnant again, to let your body rest. But after that, go, get pregnant. Make babies with Kiba. Have a whole litter if you like.”

Hinata smiled faintly. “So that’s it then…I’m…fine?”

“You’re fine,” Shizune reassured her.

Hinata sat for a minute looking at the papers spread out in front of Shizune and realizing that this was it…this was …over. Finished. Nothing left.

No baby. No baby furniture. No little rattles or baby outfits. Nothing brought in to prepare for a nursery. Nothing to ever indicate that she once had…a baby. No one even knew besides Kiba, Shizune and she herself.

It was over.

She was fine.

“Shizune,” she asked hesitantly, “Could I keep the graph, please?”

Shizune looked down at the paper Hinata was motioning toward. “I need it for your records but….I can make you a copy,” Shizune answered understandingly. She left for a moment and returned with the sheet of paper which Hinata carefully folded and put in her pouch.

“Arigato, Shizune-san,” she said softly as she left.

Returning home, Hinata carefully removed the ribbon from the vase where the flowers were wilting. Then she discarded the faded blooms, washed and stored the vase. Folding the ribbon and graph together, she tucked them into the back corner of her bedside table drawer.

Hola queridos amigos y amigas. largo tiempo sin postear novedades sobre las presentaciones de Quito y Ambato. Pero a continuación un resumen de lo ocurrido.

La presentación en el Parque Nacional Itchimbía fué sin dudas muy emotiva. Pues se trataba del reencuentro casi un año mas tarde con aquel público que siempre nos ha brindado su cariño y apoyo. Con el agregado que nuestro tecladista Luis Coppiano personificó con su Cosplay al mítico Isidro Romero Carbo… Perdón al mítico Dr. Kiba de Jiban, el cual causó sensación entre los asistentes.

En el concierto de apertura la banda “Los amantes de Manuela”  relizaron una gran presentación con temas de series como Beck, Lain y Zoids. Pero en su canción de cierre “We were angels” hicieron una fusión con los integrantes de Niji ( Sandy, Jorge, Nelson, Luis y María Pía) para interpretar este tema el cual fué aclamado por los presentes.

Ya en la presentación de Niji el público nos apoyó de inicio a fin, gritando a viva voz cada uno de los temas entr los que destacaron: Blurry Eyes, Go, The World, Wish, Glamurous Sky y como no podía ser de otra forma se pagó la deuda con el público quiteño del año anterior y todo se volvió una fiesta en el momento en el que se interpretó Cha la Head Cha la. La canción más aclamada de la noche.

Kiba Inuzuka ( Inusuka Kiba) adalah salah satu karakter dalam cerita fiksi dan manga Naruto.
Inuzuka bisa diartikan “klan/perkumpulan anjing” yang dipakai sebagai salah satu nama klan yang cukup kuat di zaman Edo. Mereka dikenal sebagai “pejuang anjing” dan menyembah “Inu” atau anjing dalam perlambangan zodiak. “inuzuka” juga sebuah nama dalam cerita Hakkenden, novel seekor samurai anjing. “Kiba” berarti “taring”.

Latar Belakang
Kiba adalah shinobi seangkatan dengan Naruto yang sama berisik dan hiperaktifnya dengan Naruto. Kiba adalah shinobi penyayang binatang yang baik hati & bisa diandalkan juga sangat menyukai Hinata Hyuga. Dia tergabung dalam tim 8 asuhan Kurenai Yuhi. Dia berasal dari klan Inuzuka, yang menggunakan anjing sebagai senjata ninja dan partner pertarungan bagi anggota klan tersebut. Anjing yang menjadi sahabatnya bernama Akamaru. Bersama Akamaru (yang amat sangat lucu & menggemaskan), Kiba biasa melakukan jalan-jalan pagi dan berlatih bersama. Keduanya dapat mengeluarkan jurus gabungan yang kuat untuk ukuran genin saat bertarung melawan Sakon-Ukon.

Love Interest : Hinata Hyuga

Ujian Chuunin
Kiba muncul pertamakali saat ujian dimulai. Dia satu tim dengan Hinata, Shino dan Kurenai. Kiba yang memiliki karakteristik seperti Naruto (berisik dan hiperaktif) merasa tersaingi oleh Naruto(yang disukai Hinata) dan Shino(yang akrab dengan Hinata). Ketika babak kedua dimulai, Kiba berhadapan dengan Naruto. Dia merasa beruntung karena lawannya “hanya” seorang Naruto. Naruto lalu mengeluarkan Kagebunshin yang mengejutkan semua orang karena dia dulu “hanya” Naruto yang diremehkan saja. Ketika mengeluarkan jurus perubah, dan menjadi ganas. Pertarungan mereka seimbang, hingga Naruto dengan sengaja mengentuti Kiba yang penciumannya tajam hingga lengah. Naruto lalu mengeluarkan Uzumaki Naruto Rendan untuk menang dari Kiba. Kiba lalu mengakui Naruto sebagai seorang ninja yang kuat.

Pengejaran Sasuke
Kiba yang sedang berjalan-jalan pagi bersama anjingnya Akamaru mendengar kabar kalau Sasuke meninggalkan Konoha dan menawarkan diri untuk ikut mengejar. Dia lalu bersama Shikamaru, Naruto, Choji dan Neji berangkat mengejar Sasuke.
Ditengah perjalanan mereka harus menghadapi empat ninja Oto. Kiba melawan kembar Sakon dan Ukon. Kiba mengeluarkan semua jurus yang telah dipelajarinya. Dia juga mengeluarkan jurus taring kembar untuk menghajar mereka tetapi tertahan oleh jurus Rashoumon Gate. Ketika keadaan mulai kritis, Kankuro datang dan membantu Kiba. Kankuro yang memakai boneka tidak terkena jurus perasuk milik Ukon dan menghabisinya dengan segera.

The last of the SIC series that I got during my SIC craze phase. Garo was a pretty cool series and the SIC figures of it were damn cool to boot and it came with life sized replicas of certain accessories that the characters wore in the show. These were going for a premium when they just debut and are now pretty much being dumped at ridiculously low prices… QC wise also not very ideal, certain joints being prone to breakage for no reason at all… Can’t remember when these pics were taken, but it’s been years since I last dug them out, in 2006 if I remember correctly.

Weapon here was taken from Vol 4 cause I used the original sword for Vol 7

The wings are so bl**dy heavy and limited in articulation that those nice 'winged' poses can't really be achieved...

Summary: This is actually a Kiba/Ino break-up story – so sorry – no romance here but hopefully a little humor.

White Horse

Ino steeled herself with a firm resolve. It was unfortunate but inevitable. The two of them would just never work out. Although their relationship had been intensely physical (intensely she thought breathlessly to herself, biting her bottom lip) it was nonetheless nothing but physical. There was no deep connection there, no spiritual bond, no promise of something eternal, everlasting, undying.

Yes, she was just going to have to break it off with Kiba. And the sooner the better, it would only be cruel to the poor boy to draw it out any longer than necessary. (But she was wondering if it would be too cruel to have just one more romp…nope never mind, she squelched that thought. Too cruel indeed, she admitted, more’s the pity.)

Ino sighed and reaffirmed to herself that it was true that sometimes you just had to be cruel to be kind. It would really be better this way.

Because she had found someone with whom she shared that deep-spiritual-eternal-everlasting bond. Sai, she sighed. She’d realized it as soon as he’d asked her if she’d model for him. He studied her so earnestly, seeking to portray every nuance, every curve, every expression of her perfectly. One day as he had posed her, positioning her hands ‘just so’ for his portrait, his own hands had strayed and they had wound up embracing each other and tumbling into bed together.

Sai was a tender lover, a gentle lover, a patient lover. Unlike the sweaty-breathless-I-can’t-wait-to-get-you-all-the-way-naked-so-I-won’t-bother sex she had with Kiba. That was sweaty. And breathless. Really, really breathless. Ino chewed her bottom lip again, wondering if maybe she really should give the poor boy one more chance to leave her breathless, err… one more chance to love her. And leave her breathless.

She thought again of her new love, her soul mate. Sai was such a gentle lover she could easily fall asleep in his arms, sometimes even drifting off in the middle of his tender lovemaking. (Tender was better than sweaty wasn’t it?)

But Sai made art of her, for her, with her. He made beautiful, enduring portraits that would last just as surely as their love would last (and certainly a lot longer than his relationship with Sakura had lasted – he’d already painted more pictures of her than he ever had painted of Forehead!) His art was as enduring as it was beautiful just as their love was as eternal as she was beautiful. Yes. She was meant to be with Sai. She’d just have to make Kiba understand.

Earlier she had tried explaining the whole thing to her teammates but Shikamaru fell asleep and Chouji looked…hurt…for some reason. Stupid boys. They should just make all-kunoichi teams then she’d have some teammates who understood her, who would listen to her and confirm that she was indeed making the best decision.

She inhaled sharply. There Kiba stood, across the street in front of her. It was now or never.

He flashed that crooked little smile at her that revealed the sharp tips of his teeth that felt so good when he nipped just right… Her knees went a little weak as she remembered his husky voice teasing her, promising to make her howl at the moon all night long. A promise he had most definitely kept.

‘Now or never’ she chided herself as she crossed the street to speak with him.

“Hey, Ino,” he said reaching to take her hand.

“Kiba, we need to talk,” she interrupted, determined not to let him get a kiss in because she knew it would be kinder this way and she was afraid of her wobbly knees from a moment ago.

“Okay, shoot,” he replied, waiting for her to say whatever was on her mind.

She could hardly bring herself to look at him, so trusting, so loyal, so devoted to her. It was cruel but it had to be done.

“Kiba we…we can’t go on…now don’t stop me let me finish…it’s really better this way… I know you must feel it too just like I do I mean the sex is great and all and you’re really a great guy and I’ve really enjoyed our time together but sometimes it’s time to move on and you know unfortunately sometimes one person just realizes that before the other person does and that hurts the other person but they’ll get over it because there’s something more waiting for them because there just has to be and I know you know what I’m talking about and oh I’m so sorry to have to do this but well you know that’s just he way that it is no maybe you don’t know so it’s like you know there’s a princess in the castle and she’s waiting to be rescued and the prince comes along and it’s not just any old prince but it’s got to be THE prince the right one the one just for her and it’s usually the one on the white horse like in the movies you do see what I’m saying don’t you?”

Bewildered, Kiba just looked at her with his head cocked to one side and said, “Umm…yeah…I think so?”

At this Ino nearly cried because it was just too sad and too poignant and too heartbreaking. The poor boy was so devastated that he couldn’t even begin to comprehend what she meant. It was denial, she knew it, he was refusing to accept the inevitable. She’d just have to try harder to explain it to him.

“It’s the prince on the white horse, Kiba, it has to be don’t you see? It can’t just be the prince on the brown horse or the black horse or the tan horse but only the white horse. Because that’s the prince that’s meant to be, not that the others are any less princes because they are just like you are a really great guy honest I mean that but just you know not with the white horse like the fairy tale and then The End but this isn’t The End because this is over well of course that means ‘this’ is at an end as in us but not ‘The End’ as in the end of the story where the prince rides off with the princess on the white horse, don’t you see? And there was a time when I would have thought that Sasuke was the one with the white horse but he’s not you know obviously he’s like the dark wizard in the tower now but of course that’s beside the point but still not because he’s not riding in on a white horse either. “

“Ino? Do you want to break up? Is that what this is about?”

There it was again, that look of confusion in his eyes as if he couldn’t bring himself to acknowledge the truth of the matter. Ino nearly sobbed out loud to think how much his heart must be breaking over what he was hearing. And the poor boy was masking his pain with feigned confusion and bewilderment.

“Yes,” she did sob this time as she said it, “Yes, Kiba, I do.”

“Well, okay, then Ino. If that’s what you want.”

“Really,” she looked up at him through tear stained lashes. She’d cried just enough so that her eyes were sparkling wet with tears but not so much to let her face get blotchy. “Really, you mean, you…understand?”

“Look, Ino, it was fun while it lasted. You’re a great girl. But you know, if you want to move on I understand. If it doesn’t work out, give me a call, okay?”

“Oh, Kiba,” she threw herself into his arms and for a moment she’d forgotten how strong they were, how broad his shoulders and chest were, how good he smelled, how he held her so tight…

Kiba was patting her on the back now as she reluctantly disentangled herself from him. “Okay, well, see ya around, Ino.” He waved as he turned to walk up the street.

Ino watched him walk off into the sunset, so tall and strong, bearing his grief so stoically that anyone who didn’t know the truth of the situation might not be able to see just how devastated he really was.

Ino went back home and cried for the rest of the evening going through one whole box of chocolates and one box of tissues as she tried to process just how much grief she had caused Kiba.

Meanwhile, Kiba went out to dinner with Shino and Hinata.

A couple of weeks later, Kiba happened to draw a mission assignment out of town with Shikamaru. While they were traveling, Kiba asked, “Hey, Shikamaru, you’ve known Ino a long time. Did she like, ever have a white pony or something?”

“Not to my knowledge. Why?”

“Ehh,” Kiba shrugged. “Just wondering.”

A/N: Just a silly little snip on my part that’s basically the old “white horse joke” about how men and women handle break ups differently. I thought it suited these two. Let me know what you thought.
