You can imagine me writing up a story to link up all the links above (probably more Twilight hate), but I won’t. It was disastrous day. I Getz hit by Optimus Prime in the morning. It Getz knocked up in workshop now. Waiting on Prime to pay me in a few mins. Furthermore, my previous mcompany wiggled their way through skipping on paying me for 1 week’s “work”. Even after we had a little agreement on some isuses. HR = devil. Also waiting for my payslip to check if they skimped on EPF.

At least I am alive. I am glad I bought a solid car and that it won’t cost as much as Hadi’s Bmer oil tank which leaked after going through the fabulous factory road on the way back from futsal. And it was good we had a superb futsal game, beating some guys we don’t get to beat often. My ankle having no recurrence of the injury. Hope to go badminton soon!

Yes I’ll be watching New Moon tomorrow. More joy =.=

I wanted to start with the trite phrase, “There’s nothing more frustrating than…” but it wouldn’t end with the truth.  The truth is sports injuries are frustrating.  More frustrating I think is injuring yourself doing something menial like getting up from the floor after picking up lego.  You know, those amazing building blocks that manage to spread themselves the entire length and breadth of what ever room they’re played in!

I rad a quick 5 km yesterday and was proud of some of the sprinting I was doing along the way.  I worked on feeling the movement of extending my kick and keeping my arms relaxed but working with my stride.  I was concentrating on them and the rest of my joints during the run.  I wasn’t expecting to have knee troubles later in the day.  Learn to expect the unexpected.

When we run, we ignore pain.  It is the only way to sustain the run.  There are aches and strains as we stretch.  There are groans in our bones as we begin to set the pace.  Our muscles resist with a sigh as we speed up and demand more.  The lungs respond in kind to deliver the oxygen needed.  We can stop the pain if we stop running but we don’t.  We run.  So, if we get a pain, we ignore it.  We alter our pace, we change our gait.

Perhaps, I knew the faster pace was going to have repercussions to my joints.  Perhaps, I was thinking of the concrete under my feet coming just a little too hard against my bones.  Perhaps, I was thinking of my friend who separated his intercostal muscle 5 minutes into a half marathon and had to be carried off the course by his wife and two small kids.  He had been suffering from a “bad back” for months of running and hadn’t complained enough to someone who could help, his doctor!

Strange pains happen for a reason.  I had a strange pain getting up from cleaning the lego last night.  I could barely walk by the time I was home putting kids to be and icing was the wrong tack.  I think before I go too much further I am going to have to commit to seeing my doctor about it.  Knees don’t get better on their own and I am not likely to give up running anytime soon!

A TEEN who murdered a dad-of-two in an unprovoked attack has been jailed for life.

Thomas Main, 18, kicked and stamped Michael Wood to death in Aberdeen in June this year.

Mr Wood’s face was “smashed” during the attack and he died from his injuries.

Today (Monday) at the High Court in Livingston, thug Main was jailed for life after he previously admitted killing him.

Judge Lord Bracadale said the murder was “unprovoked” and ruled that Main must serve a minimum of 13 years before he can be considered for parole.

Defending, Mark Stewart QC, said Main had left school at an early age and had “drifted” into a life of drink and drugs.

He said: “It was the combination of his taking drink and drugs on the date in question which led to the incident which resulted in the attack and death of Mr Wood.

“There’s nothing which I can say which in any way explains or justifies the assault on Mr Wood – the apology I’m instructed to make will mean little to those affected by Mr Wood’s death.

“There is some understanding of the extremely serious nature of what occurred that day.

“There is some insight reported in the report in to the full extent of what he was responsible for and there is some indication that he understands the consequences of his actions.”

Lord Bracadale said to that the unprovoked attacked on Mr Wood involved Main “forcing” his victim down a flight of stairs and stamping on his head whilst he was unconscious, resulting in his whole face being “smashed in”.

He added: “This was a very serious assault which went on for some time.

“You have previous convictions of assault – one of which involved a weapon – and you were under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

“These are incriminating facts which will increase the length of imprisonment.

“I do take into account you age, that there was no weapon used and it was not pre-meditated.”

Relatives of Mr Wood present in the court room were elated and whispered shouts of joy when Main was handed down his sentence.

Main, was aged just 17 when he kicked 43-year-old Michael Wood “like a ball” so hard it left the distinctive pattern of his shoes imprinted on him during the attack in Balnagask Terrace late on Tuesday 9 June.

Headlock

The court heard previously that dad of two Mr Wood had split from his wife, suffered from an alcohol problem and had been on a binge with friends.

Main, who had five previous convictions for serious violence, had in turn been drinking vodka and Jack Daniels and was described as being “hyper” before he began punching Mr Wood in the face.

In evidence, the court heard previously how Main grabbed the older man in a headlock and during the struggle they both fell down stairs.

Main fell on top of the unconscious Mr Wood, breaking his fall.

But almost as soon as the teenage thug got to his feet again,he started kicking and stamping on Mr Wood’s head.

As he stamped on Mr Wood’s head one witness heard what he described as a ‘big snap’ – but still the attack continued.

Mr Wood was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after but he died from his injuries.

A Post Mortem examination later revealed his entire face had been “fragmented” with only his jaw bone still intact.

Main initially denied any involvement.

However he later admitted punching Mr Wood and kicking him “like kicking a ball” although claimed he had not meant to kill him.

Police earlier described the assault as a “cowardly and brutal attack on a vulnerable and defenceless man”

Something happened this week when it shouldn’t really be happening. I don’t know whether it’s chance, an oddity or a little bit of both.

I felt Baby move over the weekend. My hand was firmly on Michele’s beautiful belly when it happened. Not once, not twice, but many times over.

Over the last three or four weeks Michele has begun to feel Baby moving inside of her. Sometimes, when she sits up or shifts position quickly she feels the ‘water balloon’ inside her move and is able to feel Baby doing a 360 degrees.

B-b-b-b-b-basketball! Michele reckons her tummy looks like one.

Most times Baby just shifts or does whatever it wants to do inside and Michele feels every little movement. When asked how it feels, she says it’s a like “a bubble moving across your belly” when it moves. A kick feels like a kick, a punch feels like a punch.

Doesn’t that hurt?! “No, not at all,” she quips.

At times she looks like she’s prodding it really hard. “Don’t hurt the Baby!” I’ll exclaim in half-seriousness.

She has also discovered that by prodding her belly, Baby responds by prodding/kicking back. Michele enjoys it so much she has coined a name for this little game.

Called ‘Kick Baby Kick!’, Baby and Michele responds to each other’s prodding, especially when encouraged by Michele’s cries of “kick Baby kick!”. Baby enjoys this so much, it gets up in the middle of the night for seconds and thirds. Not that Michele minds it; the sleep she loses is incomparable to the mother-child ‘bonding’ she craves for.

Several times now, Baby has also let me in on the game. On days when Baby’s particularly naughty, Michele grabs my hand and places it on her belly. She’ll proceed to poke her belly and say ‘kick Baby kick!’ hoping Baby responds by poking back in the same spot.

And I have felt it. Oh boy have I ever! It felt like a dull thud, like the reverberations on your feet when a small rubber ball bounces off timber flooring. It’s the most beautiful thing ever. I don’t know what Baby’s trying to tell me, but all I can hear is ‘Let me out! Hello Daddy!’.

EDIT (12 hours later): Michele has seen this blog post and wasn’t too pleased with the unflattering shot of her. Sorry Babe!

Kick – Lollie Pop

Måste skriva ett inlägg för att se att det funkar som det ska. Har precis uppgraderat min dator till Windows 7. Märkligt nog känns det lite sladdrigare än Vista som jag körde innan. Kan inte sätta fingret på exakt vad det är förutom en sak. Saknas ikoner lite här och var, verkar som Windows inte hittar programmens ikoner riktigt så en del är utan ikoner, istället visas bara en dokumentikon av standardtyp.

Sen så vill Gmail-appen inte visa sin ikon när man startat programmet trots att ikonen visas för programmet på skrivbordet. En kort stund dök den upp förut men sen har den inte velat visa sig i aktivitetsfältet när programmet är igång.

En annan grej som oxå är B är att nu visas inte längre Tv-bilden i aktivitetsfältets för-visning utan istället så visas där bara kanalväljaren till min tv-applikation. Ja, det lär väl dyka upp fler grejer allteftersom. Men jag hade ju ett jädra elände när jag fick Vista en gång i tiden och även om det sagts att Windows 7 inte ska dras med lika mycket problem som Vista gjorde när det lanserades så är jag inte helt övertygad om den saken.

Kul låt jag hittat förresten, hade aldrig hört den innan vad jag kan påminna mig om. Den är i alla fall från 1983, en tid då det gjordes en hel del go sån funk så konkurrensen var ganska stor och det var nog mycket vi missade här i lilla Sverige som vi först nu upptäcker i och med att det dyker upp på YouTube.

One of the most effective tennis serves you can hit is what is sometimes known as the “can opener”.

You see Federer and Nadal hit this serve a lot of the time.

This is when you slice the serve out wide and drag your opponent out of the tennis court.

It can often result in an ace or error but can also leave your opponent so far out of court that even if they do return the ball you have the whole court at your mercy to take advantage of.

But, so many people still struggle to hit it well.

Well, try this.

If you are a right hander hitting it from the deuce (right) court then just move your right foot to the right a touch (towards the right tramline) when you are setting up (I am obviously assuming your right foot is normally further from the right tramline than your left foot in your normal service stance).

This will line your body up more towards your target and make hitting that area by the opposite tramline sooooo much easier.

Note for all you leftys, just reverse the above instruction i.e. serve from the left etc.

For those of you worried about telegraphing the serve to the opponent – don’t worry.

If you are unable to hit the wide serve from the “normal” stance, you AND your opponent are unlikely to be at the level where reading and taking advantage of serves are a natural part of the game.

PLUS!!!

If you hit it well enough, it is still a difficult serve to deal with.

I saw Pete Sampras (who Federer copied) serve every ad serve (from the left) at the French Open, Roland Garros from wide out towards the tramline with kick.

Everybody knew where most of the serves were going but like I said earlier if you hit these wide serves well the worst that can happen is that you end up with an empty court to play into on the next shot.

He lost in the Semi-Finals!!

I also saw him serve nearly every serve in the Australian Open final against Thomas Muster (a lefty) as a can opener from the right (deuce) court.

He Won!!

Listen, it’s really important for right handers to have this serve against a lefty.

I say this because it seems that all leftys have this serve when they play us right handers……dammned leftys

Start working on it today!!

P.S. if you are a lefty and don’t have it as part of your service arsenal…………get it going

Hi Jonathan,

With reference to the screen shot below, after passing data to SAP from Kofax I tried to save the record however the error below was produced. “Posting is only possible with a zero balance”. Is this because the balance on the right hand corner indicates that bal. is “800.00 – “? Must you create some sort of credit limit for these new vendors?

Secondly, I see “header text” displaying ALVIN testing 123 yoyo. This data wasn’t inputed by Kofax but it appears there all the time when ever a transaction is posted. I believe this must be master data coming from somewhere? Can it be removed?

My colleague sent this image to me and I just had to post it. Since right now, at this very moment I want to do that to Kay. Go figure.

So I was just on my facebook and commented on a friend’s vote that he did. It was a little bit of my wicked humor going on in the comment and someone took offense and so I had to be on the defensive when he stated that I didn’t know what I was talking about and needed to continue drinking the Kool-aid and everything would be over shortly.  I suppose that it was wrong of me to get back at him, but he took my joking comment as a threat. So I had to set him straight. After another comment,  in a round about way he apologized and I did also afterward.

My friend Joe says that I kick the proverbial puppy a lot.

But it got me thinking that I really analyze things in a debate that people have and only comment afterward. I guess that is just how I am I will read people and then go from there, but after all that I have been through I read too much into some people and not enough in others… everyone does that though.   It may just be a smart thing to weigh how people act and react before forming any type of relationship, but some people don’t act the same way when the setting changes and they are in a more comfortable atmosphere.

At any rate I believe that my defensive mode will keep the guy from getting hasty in his attacks, at least he said that he’ll keep his comments to himself. which it would be a good thing. However I begin to wonder if my attack had the opposite effect. Will he be waiting for more comments from me? *Shiver* LOL Could it be that he is an M??? Let’s hope not. I only hope that now my friend doesn’t misread my comment to be a bash. Only time will tell.

On another note….

I think that my heart likes to play games with me. This friend, I met him through one of my friends a long time ago. I had a thing for him for so long. It was an unrequited love, that or the guy was to dense to even notice. My friend, (A),  that introduced us suspected that I had a thing for this friend we’ll call D. A asked me if I was crushing on someone, and I said yeah.  So A, sounding desperate stated, ” Please don’t tell me that it is D!” So I lied, I didn’t want to hurt A’s feelings, for some reason he couldn’t see us getting together, and began bad mouthing his friend when I asked why. (A and I are related so it wasn’t the “I like you, don’t fall for my friend” thing. ) So every time  D was with a different girl I would forget about him, especially when it came to this one girl. So not seeing D or A for a long time, I made friends with a guy “C” and C was the worst guy ever, but I only planned on being friends and that is how it was. D found out that I was talking to C and the situation surrounding that and told me to be careful. So much for keeping D out of my heart. I felt that I wasn’t just A’s cousin to him,  I was friends with him. It was like he cared even just a little bit.

So confession time: I was so totally crazy over D. In spite of all the things A said about him and all the things I knew about him.

And every now and then my heart starts to heal again and I remember D and how it is never going to work out now and that little piece of my heart stays chipped. I remember how he was right about C and that I needed to be careful. I remember now, and I try not to talk about him because, people ask Who is this D guy, and I am soon overtaken by the one single question that always follows, “does D know you like him?” Even now it shows, that my heart hasn’t totally given up on D.

I will forget him though when the guy that I am supposed to be with finds me and I find him.

Until then I am nursing a chipped piece of my heart for you D.

The Springboks racked up there third loss of the tour against Saracens rugby club at Wembley Stadium ,but it was Stuart Timmer who scored big time and stole the show.

Sorry if you thought this was a post about the actual rugby, but we are so kak right now that im not even gonna bother. Springboks lost 24-23 if that helps.

Stuart Timmer walked away with £250,000 during half time for kicking a rugby ball 30m and hitting the crossbar.

Stuart went old school and removed his shoes to kick in his socks. He was chosen out of 47 000 fans who entered the Sarries Crossbar Challenge.

24 year old Stuart  still lives with folks and  plays hooker for the Welwyn RFC fifth team, but its this little gem that almost brought tears to my eyes:

Yes, you got it right. I can now feel lot of movements! It is extremely fascinating feeling the movement the feeling of movement is felt.

At times, i feel it’s gas! But then the feeling is so strong, which can not be ignored. Just hopping to figure out a pattern on the same!

Una nueva movie que esta por salir el proximo año, es de superheroes y esta basada en un comic de marvel, se llama Kick-ass (Patea-traseros en traduccion mexicana) se trata de una persona que no tiene poderes y nomas se pone un traje para salir a pelear contra el crimen, claro que tiene un grupo de compas que le ayudan  y al parecer si la arman, es algo como estilo WATCHMEN solo que en esta ocasion no es tan novelesco y realmente nadie tiene poderes.
