In 2006, a tape featuring Kid Pebble and Scott Stopp (on purpose typo) getting their used tampons sucked by a bunch of skanky groupies made the internet rounds. In a new interview with Spin Magazine (via HuffPo), the Christian banger says that he did not have sex in the biblical sense on tape. You know, because it isn’t considered “sex,” unless it’s in the missionary position, on your marital bed, with all the lights off and at least one of you are crying out of shame.

Scott told the magazine, “Well, there’s no sex on the sex tape. For it to get characterized that way, I mean, that kind of sucks.” I’ll say it sucks.

Do we really need someone to sit Scott down, hold his hand and tell him how this “sex” thing works? Scott is probably one of those fucktards who thinks that sticking the tip in and twerking the dick just a little doesn’t count as an intimate act. The bible says that when all else fails, just scream, “IT WAS JUST THE TIP!”

Scott Stump (another OPT) went on to fart that getting a dick job next to Kid Rock made things a little awkward between them, “What sucks about that is Bob — Kid Rock — and I were friends. Black ties and gowns filled a ballroom Saturday in a big-bucks salute to Detroit-style royalty — the King of Motown, the Queen of Soul and the Kid of Rock.

Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, along with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Kid Rock came to Motown’s original hometown for the Motown 50 Golden Gala. The 50th-anniversary event, which fetched $350 and up for a ticket, was a fundraiser for the Motown Historical Museum. The museum was the original home of Motown Records Corp., which Gordy started with an $800 loan.

The event drew about 750 people and many of the big names and behind-the-scenes people from the label, which moved to Los Angeles in 1972. Detroit’s output included scores of hits, including “My Girl” by The Temptations, “The Tears of a Clown” by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye.

HBH: Hello David!

DM: How you doing?

HBH: Fine. We’ve seen each other a long time ago in London.

DM: Oh yeah! (Laugh)

HBH: What did you do after this?

DM: Well, the last few years I’ve been playing a lot. I’m kind of juggling between three projects. I’ve been playing with Bob and I also with R & B artist KEM. I’ve been musical director for him for a few years. For the last two years I’ve been playing in a totally different situation with Kid Rock! (laugh) So, it pretty much started out as one show and then it went into two weeks, and then it turned into two years. I’m just finishing up, while he’s recording a new CD.

New Soul Cowboys describe their sound as Outlaw Rock ‘N’ Roll. “Anyone that is a musical badass has been an outlaw in their genre, living outside of conventional rules,” states Gomes. “We have created a sound that embodies the rebel spirit of musical outcasts like Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash and Howlin’ Wolf. We’re here to take back Rock ‘N’ Roll,” the guitar-slinger boldly but unapologetically exclaims. “We are part of a new music revolution in rock. A place where bands know where the music came from, can really play their instruments, write their own songs and take no prisoners doing it. We couldn’t care less about American Idol, we’re here to take our music to the streets.”

“Nashville is really supercharged these days so it’s the perfect breeding ground for musical hybrids. Music is getting a shot in the arm from blending and blurring the lines of genres. We are an integral part of this uprising, and want to push it further,” says Gomes. This type of crossover is timely for a year that saw Kid Rock break into multiple formats, the unlikely duo of Robert Plant and Allison Krauss and the touring combinations of ZZ Top/Montgomery Gentry and Lynyrd Skynyrd/Hank Williams Jr.

In order to create this new sound, Gomes needed the right combination of bandmates. St. Louis natives Karns and Lang provided the necessary spark to set the band ablaze. “David and I had been touring internationally in different projects as well as doing session work in Nashville and St. Louis, but we wanted more from music. We wanted to be a part of a band that made a difference,” says Lang. From the band’s first rehearsal, the chemistry has been undeniable. “It’s been magic from note one. I knew I had found the brothers that I was meant to play with,” Karns remembers.

The band began recording their debut album in St. Louis during the fall of 2008, when a fan offered the band access to a free studio. The Cowboys got to work quickly and began developing and recording their signature sound. Key tracks from those sessions include, “Painted Horse,” with its tip of the hat to Hendrix and Cash, meeting at the crossroads of history to throw back a shot and a beer, the tasty, “Chicken Bone Cross” and wickedly crunchy, “Purple Whiskey Sack.” Also assembled were the thunderous, “Born to Ride” and radio ready, “What It’s All About;” both prime slices of catchy riffing Southern Rock. The upbeat “Carolina” and the poignant ballad, “You Are Amazing,” also both found their voices during this time. And “Rebel Highway,” with its feeling of Skynyrd meets Queen, is a rock anthem best served arena style.

The group’s Outlaw Rock credentials are unquestionable. They’ve collaborated with Jim Peterik, chief songwriter for .38 Special, and Tom Hambridge who writes with Skynyrd and Van Zant. Gomes has shared the stage with Blues legends BB King and Buddy Guy, as well as Big and Rich, James Otto and Cowboy Troy. In fact, a Cowboy alumnus is none other than that Redneck Woman herself Gretchen Wilson, right out of Nashville’s “Music Mafia”. The group also tears it up live and has played shows with Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, the Doobie Brothers and Cross Canadian Ragweed.“Blues and Country music had a baby and they called it Rock ‘N’ Roll,” Gomes proclaims. “We are standing at the four corners of music with a Marshall stack amplifier cranked wide open and not asking for permission or begging for forgiveness.” The band’s scorched earth sound is fulfilling their mission statement to stand up and be counted. “It’s high noon and I’ve got my six string by my side. "Rebel Highway" – Southern Rock, Alt Country, Blues Rock, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rebel Highway, New Soul Cowboys, Rebel Highway, New Soul Cowboys, Anthony Gomes

Last night, the 2009 CMA Awards debuted on television. It was a memorable and incredible night for many country music stars. Outstanding performances were made by country stars including Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, The Eagles, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Dave Matthews, Zack Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Sugarland, Keith Urban, and The Wailers. My  favoritePerformer that evening was Taylor Swift. Taylor sung two songs that evening Fifteen and Forever and Always; named female vocalist of the year! I watched the entire award show and I was very pleased and agreed with the awards that were given.

I’m not a big country fan, but I am a music fan. I watched the CMA awards last night and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of genre mixing. There were some awesome performances. Here’s some of them:

I thought Carrie Underwood did a pretty decent job. A friend of mine told me a story this morning that her son was watching the CMA’s and said, “Wow. That’s Carrie Underwood? I guess American Idol can really change your life. She used to be just a normal girl and now she’s hosting the CMA’s.” Yes, it can change your life, if you play your hand right.

Taylor Swift is my secret musical love. I love her music and I think she’s very talented for as young as she is. So, of course, I have to include her. She is singing Fifteen, which really holds a special meaning for me.

Oh, and Sugarland. Love them too.

There is so much great music out there and it’s silly to limit yourself to one artist or one genre even. Let yourself go explore. You might be surprised at what you find.

We predicted 6 accurately, 2 tied predictions, and 4 upsets (as far as our voters are concerned).  What are your friends saying today?  Are people being really for or against any winner?  Please leave your comments below.  The discussion that continues now in the fall out leads to greater discovery as to why people like certain kinds of music, performances, personalities, and actions.  Here are a few poles to make the discussion a little easier.

I am not exactly a country music fan. However, I did grow up in Wyoming for a time, and can attest to spinning George Strait and Patsy Cline LPs (yeah, as in actual records on the record player). Therefore, when I came across the Country Music Awards on the TV tonight, I paused. And listened.I was surprised to see how much pop has infused the country genre. Guest spots included Dave Matthews, Kid Rock and Daughtry. The always-entertaining Carrie Underwood has always had a good deal of pop in her style.

But perhaps the biggest surprise was how well Taylor Swift did! She won Entertainer of the Year (among several other awards) – as the only female nominee (and the youngest winner ever) – beating out the older, more experienced and all-male competitive list of George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.

I have to admit, until now, I had never sought out her music, although I enjoyed it enough when I heard it on the radio. But after this impressive win (yeah, women!), I downloaded her new album, Fearless, and have to say – although I’m certainly not the target audience – I enjoy every song. Not only does she have a beautiful voice but she wrote all of her own songs “each in about 1/2 hour” as she told Ellen DeGeneres recently.
