Tiny magnetic discs just a millionth of a metre in diameter could be used to used to kill cancer cells, according to a study published on Sunday.

Laboratory tests found the so-called “nanodiscs”, around 60 billionths of a metre thick, could be used to disrupt the membranes of cancer cells, causing them to self-destruct.

The discs are made from an iron-nickel alloy, which move when subjected to a magnetic field, damaging the cancer cells, the report published in Nature Materials said.

One of the study’s authors, Elena Rozhlova of Argonne National Laboratory in the United States, said subjecting the discs to a low magnetic field for around ten minutes was enough to destroy 90 percent of cancer cells in tests.

In a commentary on the report, Jon Dobson of Keele University in Britain said antibodies could be used to direct the discs towards tumour cells.

“This provides an elegant and rapid technique for targeting tumour destruction without the side effects associated with systemic treatments such as chemotherapy,” Dobson wrote.

Suicide Bombing

Al-Nisa (The Women) Sura 4: Verse 29 (Partial)

“… And kill yourselves not, for God is truly Merciful to you.”

People who are driven to despair are thus reminded to have faith in God’s mercy in the hope that they may be relieved of their suffering. Since suicide is prohibited, anyone who tries to facilitate it, or acts as an accomplice, is also liable to a deterrent punishment that may be quantified by the court while taking into consideration the material circumstances of the case. Commentators have, moreover, drawn a five-point conclusion from this verse as follows:

1. the obvious meaning is that suicide is forbidden;

2. the text also stipulates that ‘you may not kill one another’ nor facilitate suicide;

3. one may not undertake a task which is likely to cause his own death, even if it be in lieu of a religious obligation;

4. no one should deprive himself of the necessities of life to the point of self-destruction; and

5. the text covers cases of self-destruction regardless of the manner in which it is done.

The manuals of Islamic law are silent on the issue of suicide bombing, a disturbing phenomenon of our time that became frequent in connection with Israeli-Palestinian conflict, especially when Israel unleashed a new wave of aggression on the street processions of unarmed Palestinian youth in 2000-1. The aftermath of 11 September 2001 and more recently the horrendous violence in Iraq and Afghanistan, added new dimensions to the incidence of suicide bombing among Muslims.

Suicide bombing in the name of Islam is a ’sociopolitical phenomenon, not a theological one’. And any long-term solution to the problem must also address the causes that have brought so much pain and hopelessness to many Muslim societies.

It would be simplistic to lump the Palestinian suicide bombing with Al-Qaedah terrorist activities. One can hardly deny the genuine suffering of the Palestinian people and legitimacy of their struggle against sustained Israeli brutalities. It would appear equally simplistic, however, to equate suicide bombing with martyrdom and jihad. This is because suicide bombing contravenes two fundamental principles of Islam: prohibition against suicide, and deliberate killing of non-combatants. The argument that proceeds over reciprocity and retaliation is also flawed by the involvement of innocent non-combatants in suicide bombing.

Those who have raised the issue of ‘collateral damage’ in this context have also exaggerated their case, simply because non-combatants are chosen as the direct target of suicide bombing. They are, as such, neither collateral nor incidental.

The Muslim fighter who is motivated by the spirit of jihad enters the battle, not with the intention of dying, but with the conviction that if he should die, it would be for reasons beyond his control. Martyrdom in Islam does not begin with suicidal intention, let alone the linkage of that intention with the killing of non-combatants.

To justify suicide bombing under the banner of retaliation, or as a form of jihad, is therefore questionable, simply because it begins on an erroneous note, which goes against the essence both of just retaliation and justified jihad.

Reported in the Mirror yesterday is the tragic accident of a “perfect boyfriend” who is said to have plummeted to his death after trying not to wake his missus up.

William Styles, 23, was at a pub quiz with his partner Jessie Wallace, 21.

She had gone home early, taking their only set of keys.

The sports instructor who taught windsurfing climbed the walls of their homes in order to avoid pressing the doorbell.

William then plunged 18ft from the ground floor to a basement level.

After sustaining severe head injuries he lay unconscious on the street in Plymouth, before being found by a neighbour the next morning.

William was taken to intensive care but died the following day.

Jessie said: “He was the perfect boyfriend. I feel like I’ve lost my entire world. He did more in his short life than people do in their long lives.

“Maybe he didn’t want me to wake up.”

Now I know people of the sceptical kind will ask questions like “Was the man drunk?” or say he could have been climbing the wall for a different reason. But I’m sure for Jesse it’s a comforting thought believing her boyfriend died putting her needs first; if he would go this far just to make sure she slept undisturbed, what would he do in a life-threatening situation?

I suppose the only person who will ever truly know is William himself.

But for now the story should be taken for what it is- an act of chivalry so rarely seen in these present times.

Jangan di anggep remeh, itu virus lho. File induknya bernama “runouce.exe” letaknya di “c:\WINDOWS\system32”. Makannya kalo menemukan “runouce.exe” di Process pada Task Manager, buru-buru kill aja processnya. Itu dia yang bikin file “readme.eml” banyak di harddisk kita. Virus ini menginfeksi file-file ber ekstensi  “*.exe”, “*.htm”, dan ”*.html”. Jika file-file berekstensi tersebut dijalankan, maka akan otomatis memanggil file virus tersebut, dan lebih parahnya jika file “.exe” dijalankan, maka “runouce.exe” akan kembali berjalan, dan konon pada tanggal – tanggal tertentu akan merusak file-file “.doc”,”.xls”, “.docx”, dan lain-lain.ckckck…Kejam sekali pembuatnya.

Entah apa maksud dan tujuan si pembuat, hingga tega berbuat seperti itu. Biar aja dech tuhan yang bales semuanya ke yang buat virus ini. Saya aja kalo buat ga sampe ngerusak file koq, bukan apa – apa, saya ga tega. Soalnya saya juga ngalamin sendiri file-file pada rusak gara-gara virus. Belom lagi sumpah serapah dari para korban, hiiii…ngeri.

Nah untuk itu saya buat aplikasi ini, untuk ngebasmi file-file “readme.eml”. Yaaa emang ga matiin secara total sich, tapi lumayan juga daripada ngehapus file tersebut satu per satu??

Cara makenya cukup klik 2x pada file “Readme Killer.exe”nya (saat diminta password,pasword defaultnya “kill” tanpa tanda kutip) setelah itu pilih nomor 1 (teken 1 pada keyboard terus teken enter) setelah muncul seperti ini:

Lalu masukin lokasi drive yang bakal discan contoh drive c, cukup ketik “c” (tanpa tanda kutip). Terus tunggu ddech sampe muncul gambar kaya gini:

Nah untuk ngecek masih ada apa ga file tersebut lakukan lagi langkah tersebut, kalo masih ada berarti anda harus ngekill “runouce.exe” yang ada di Task Manager, caranya teken tombol ctrl+shift+escape pada keyboard secara bareng, nah pilih tab process, cari runouce.exe atau runouce , terus kill process dech. Oh iya, selama ngejalanin aplikasi ini kalo bisa jangan jalanin aplikasi yang laen dulu ya,,karena nanti bakalan percuma kerja keras anda.

OK Dech Selamat mencoba yaaaa…!!!

Her arguments are that other solutions like finding a vaccine to the parapox virus or shipping grey squirrels back to England will cost too much money and make less money to conservation of red squirrels. Thinking of animal rights of grey squirrels when we are talking about disappearance of red squirrels cost also too much money and time according to her. I can understand that time is passing and the situation of red squirrels becomes more and more alarming each day. Other solutions can be found but take time. But grey squirrels are animals as well and got the same right to live as red squirrels. Why red squirrels would have better reasons to live than grey squirrels ? Because us Europeans have always known and seen red squirrels in our forests ? Because we feel like the grey squirrel was an intruder ? Because they are less cute and less pleasant to look at ? Eradicating a population of individuals to allow another population to live makes me think about one of the worst times of our history, even if we are talking about animals. We should not think about grey squirrels as they were parasites. Unfortunately, they are the ones who carry the pox. Is it their fault if they aren’t infected by this virus ? In my opinion, scientists should concentrate on finding a vaccine so that grey and red squirrels could coexisted. Killing grey squirrels could lead to drifts and, if this solution passes, grey squirrels may be in a few decades the ones who will be threatened with extinction. But perhaps nobody will care.

A Thursday afternoon and NO new Heroes episodes has me thinking. I love Heroes. I love Hiro. If you don’t, that’s cool.

BUT. I don’t care if you have, and I quote from something I read recently about Buffy being an intellectual superior: “a comic collection worth more than most peoples cars”. I don’t care if you think Heroes is very derivative from lesser known comics. If it is full of plot-holes. I love it, sometimes it’s slow but it’s light entertainment which takes me away from a reality that is all too complex sometimes.

So, Heroes would never have a place in academia or intellectual conversation? Personally I like that. I also may have half my ‘facts’ incorrect with what I post below, I am going by memory and as I have said before, that’s pretty much a vast abyss. Also as per usual a random spiel that happens before I think, especially today being sleep deprived, so sorry if I break your head a little.

I love Heroes.

Plus I love Sylar. Hiro is my favorite, he wants to save everyone yet I want Sylar to KILL everyone at the same time. Or atleast try. He just keeps coming back, you can’t stop him – he’s batshit-crazy. The latest episodes have me screaming at the television when I realise there are NO more episodes YARRED for me to watch.

Hiro possesses something like, the power to control the space-time continuum. The ability to teleport both himself and others that he comes into physical contact with, both through time and space. To stop time. Though these days his powers are becoming weaker.

He seems to be one of the only characters who wants to use his SUPER POWERS to help other people rather than gain for himself. He is pretty gullible at times. I am pretty sure from memory of the first series that he is a huge comic book fan and sets himself standards to live up to the responsibilities, systems, justice and other things he sees in his comic book friends. “You cannot bribe a hero. My heart is true. My spirit, unbreakable.”

haha. I think this is the only time I have seen him hit a chick, though she’s not really a chick, she has super KICK YOUR ASS homicidal powers.

He believes he is born to be a Hero. Maybe he is. He speaks of Star Trek, Waffles(!!), saving this person, saving that person, saving the world, is notoriously cute, optimistic and hilarious. I love him and I am sure I piss a lot of people off by now from yelling “YATTA!!” waayy too often. I stopped for awhile but Heroes is BACK baby.

I do him little justice. If he were real, hopefully he’d come back in time to redeem himself.. or me. He has a heart of gold and has me laughing and stupid things (I DO NOT usually laugh at stupid comedy) when I am feeling crap. I was told this post needed some more work, they usually do.. I can’t write anymore.. I can only hear “YATTA!” in my head over and over.

I have played this game since Friday – i had played the first assassins creed and i thought that it was a very original game. This 2nd game is very similar and just improves on the original game.

The missions are more varied and the gameplay is faster- especially the climbing. The graphics are good and the animation scenes really absorb you into the story.

Another good thing about this game is the way that you can gather more weapons such as swords, daggers, axes etc. Also there are some interesting new items such as smoke grenades which are good for evading enemies.You can assassinate guards in all sorts of ways which means you can be playing this for hours practising the perfect kill.

The game gets a real good balance of being a lone assassin but you can still fight with others and hire people to help you throughout the game. Another new feature is that you can swim.

Overall i think that this is a very good game- its better than the first. Well worth a try if you like games such as prince of Persia, tomb raider or the first assassins creed

Spectacular fall of royal helper Police are trying to find a former royal aide who has absconded from the open prison where she was serving a life term for murdering her boyfriend. i’m sure i have although i don’t remember the exact moment…i do remember having long day dreams involving the less offensive thought…wishing…praying….hoping he would die a slow, painful death…i’m still waiting…

i used to think 20 years in prison was a small price to pay for ending the endless pain and agony he was inflicting on me and my kids. not that there is anything in this article to imply she was being abused in any way…she’s just a nutter!

So I was praying super Mario brothers today for the wii, it is abusive I played with my faysebook gf Erin and like the trolls we are, we ended up trying to team kill each other in teh game.

So heres how you TK in Mario other than the obvious:

1) Fire the shell at them while holding it

2) If you run close to em while they are on a ledge you can push em off

3) Use yoshi to eat them when they are slow and fire them at a mob

4) Jump on their heads when they are jumping across a gap

5) Send excessive taunts over while confusing each other (If your mario and weegee) on whos who ( i got confused) and i ended up dying.

6) Always deny the Power ups

7) Bum Smash them on their yoshis.

Just some of what we endured throughout the day. Its a good game i ended up with however 7 conitnues and Erin about 4 :\ so thats 35 + 20 so thats 55 lives wasted and we weren’t even mid way to World 2. But yeah, we are pro Team Killers now all we do is try and kill the other person as much as we can. LUL the mini games that require 2 people are lol, you screw around so badly for your team mates and just hope you pull the wrong card just for lols.

In any case it is a fun game if you can have people co-oping with each other, but trying to get em killed is twice more fun lols.

On Sunday afternoon in  a Fayetteville, North Carolina church, Manna Church, the world,family and friends said goodbye to Shaniya Davis. Shaniya had captured the heart of the world, after it was discovered that her own mother had sold her into bondage as a sex slave,to Mario McNeill, who brutally raped and murdered the little child.

More than 2000 people were inside the church to support Bradley Lockhart, Shaniyas dad, and the man who made the decision to send Shaniya back to her mother,after having raised the child for the full 5 years of her life,which directly led to her death.

“Don’t let God’s words and don’t let his actions get you down,” Lockhart told the packed congregation. “He did this for a reason.”

Shaniya Davis funeral was open to the public and was standing room only.Lockhart urged the 1,500 crowded into Manna Church and another 500 watching the service from an adjacent building to help the community’s needy, according to press reports.

As mourners filled the church, a photo display of Shaniya Davis was streamed on the overhead projector. Never before released photos of Shaniya were displayed. These photos showed Shaniya with her father, Bradley Lockhart and her siblings.

Lockhart said, “Shaniya, Daddy love you honey. And I know you’re gonna’ be waiting for me … I’ll see you when I get there.”

White doves were released at her graveside as the little child Shaniya was laid to her eternal resting place.
