Sadly summer is soon coming to an end, but there is still time to come out on Friday, August 10 and enjoy one last summertime Art D’Vine, a gallery hop and wine-tasting event on State Street in Bristol. Plus when you come down to Downtown Bristol for the August Art D’Vine, you will get “two bangs for your buck”! On the same night, the Appalachian Region AACA Car Show will be running from 5 pm to 9 pm, a chance to see State Street filled once again with Classic Cars for your enjoyment. Be aware, however, that State Street will be closed off for this event so you will need to take advantage of nearby parking instead.

The gallery owners of Downtown Bristol will be opening their doors to the public from 6-9 p.m. “Art D’Vine is a perfect opportunity for people to come downtown, relax, and enjoy the incredible local art that Bristol has to offer,” says Mimi Kind, owner of One of a Kind Gallery.

The community is invited to stroll through Downtown Bristol, stopping at Kil’n Time, Benjamin Walls Gallery, CityMug, One Night Stand Gallery, 606 State Street Gallery, One of a Kind Gallery, Bridgeforth Design Studio and blowfish emporium. Each of the galleries will be featuring a different wine varietal which participants are invited to sample.

“There’s always something different to see on each art hop,” says René Rodgers, Associate Director of Believe in Bristol. “Even if you’ve been to Art D’Vine before, you’ll enjoy the evening and get a chance to explore what’s new in each gallery.”

Kil’n Time will be hosting the Abingdon Olive Oil Company, and gallery-hoppers will have the chance to sample some of their custom-infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars during the evening.

The Benjamin Walls Gallery will be showing Ben’s new release from the Great Smoky Mountains called “The Silent Gentlemen.”

Photographs by Tammy Mercure and Chris Stewart, both of King College, will be featured at CityMug, and the café will stay open until 9 p.m. for anyone needing a late-night caffeine fix.

One Night Stand Gallery will feature the work of three Virginia Intermont art students, Joey Blevins, Jerry Allen and Tyler Moreland, who painted the murals on the BCMA building.

The featured artists at 606 State Street Gallery will be Lisa Boardwine and Tammy Carter, and the 606 Jam Band will also be playing.

One of a Kind Gallery will be introducing glass artist Nancy Brooks; Nick Freeman, noted for his charcoal drawings of familiar places around Bristol, will also be in the gallery with some of his new work. Bridgeforth Design Studio will be holding a book signing with Bristol’s own filmmaker and author, Stephen J. Semones. Semones will be debuting his new novel, The Wraith: Crossfire, based on a wildly popular Australian comic and series of books. Bridgeforth created front and back cover art for the novel, and will have poster prints available for purchase and signing during the event. There will be an Artist Spotlight and book signing at blowfish emporium with local writer Elizabeth Brown, author of Living Successfully with Screwed Up People, Working Successfully with Screwed Up People, and many others.

The August Art D’Vine is sure to be another fantastic night out, and participating in this fun-filled event will be a great way to make the most of the last days of summer.
