For the second year in a row, “Sex and the City” star Kim Cattrall bared it all to keep a classic Renaissance painting on display in the U.K.

Cattrall will again pose nude as the goddess Diana for a reenactment of Titian’s famous painting “Diana and Callisto,” according to Contact Music.

he reenactment will hopefully raise awareness (and money) to keep the real painting in an Ediburgh gallery, after the Scottish government has refused to pay for the work to stay there.

This is the second time Cattrall has posed as the goddess Diana for this purpose. The first time was a year ago, when she sat beside many nude twenty-something art students and actors to recreate Titian’s “Diana and Actaeon” (above) to raise money to keep the painting in the National Gallery in London.

The Duke of Sutherland, who owned the painting, told the gallery that it would have to buy the painting from him for £50 million or he would sell it on the open market. The fundraising effort was successful, however, and kept the painting in the National Gallery.

The reenactment will hopefully raise awareness (and money) to keep the real painting in an Ediburgh gallery, after the Scottish government has refused to pay for the work to stay there.

Cattrall was born in England to British parents and has visited the National Gallery many times. She told the Daily Mail, “Viewing this painting is like being in the presence of genius, it would be a tragedy if it were not on public view.”

Cattrall is no stranger to shedding her clothing on “Sex and the City,” but still… well done, Ms. Cattrall. You make a beautiful Diana.

Ya comienzan las campañas alternas a Sex and the City 2. Pero esta vez no es Sarah Jessica Parker quien se las luce, sino Kim Cattrall, promoviendo la botella festiva del licor irlandés Baily´s Red Bow.  

Kim Cattrall luce radiante ataviada de un vestido rojo con un lazo gigante, diseñado por la afamada estilista que agregó el glamour a la serie, Patricia Field. “Mi primera inspiración fue el rojo y el lazo de la botella de Baily´s y por supuesto Kim Cattrall”, comenta Fields.

“Mi meta era ponerlo todo junto. Me fui por un lazo gigante, porque redireccioné a Kim a su personaje de Samantha usando un lanzo. Si Samantha usara un lazo, ese sería más grande que cualquiera”. Y en verdad que lo es.

Sarah Jessica Parker adorna la portada e interiores de la revista Elle, en la entrevista no dijo nada que valiera la pena, solo aclaro los rumores del “supuesto” pleito que se trae desde hace años con su co-protagonista Kim Cattrall: “No existe ningun problema entre ella y yo, de hecho no podia haber hecho la primer pelicula (de sex and the city) si ella no hubiera aceptado”, claro Sarah y ahora resulta que los reyes magos existen… XD

Big Trouble in Little China, 1986 – Direção: John Carpenter – Elenco:Kurt Russell,Kim Cattrall,Victor Wong.

O filme mais divertido de todos os tempos (nos meus conceitos, claro) é também uma puta aula de como sacanear qualquer um, do mestre John Carpenter. Aqui o destaque e o objetivo central é iludir a todos os espectadores a um ‘nada’ inexistente, mas que exista no mundo de onde a história do filme se passa.

O sobrenatural é proposital e quase em toda cena você encontrará defeitos mais do que gritantes, mas de tão feios fazem qualquer um cair na risada. Primeira sacanagem de Carpenter. Ele traz defeitos de propósito e os joga de um em um minuto na tela só para incrementar as cenas e torná-las mais divertidas, o que ao meu ver é tão genial quanto o filme inteiro em si.

Um dos meus filmes mais nostálgicos (e não está naquele post porque esse merece um comentário só pra si), que também vi de mais na sessão da tarde. Kurt Russel consegue transformar o seu Jack Burton em uma figura tão engraçada, divertida, humana e natural que é eterno até hoje e é o meu personagem preferido de todos os outros filmes que ele fez com Carpenter.

Mas não é só Kurt que foi premiado com um puta personagem não, o filme é divertido em boa parte pela grande penca de personagens geniais que são desenvolvidos (ou não) durante o decorrer. Temos Egg Shen, que é eternizado pelo nosso querido Victor Wong. Temos o próprio vilão, Lo Pan, um dos vilões mais hilários que já vi. Wang, o super herói indestrutível. Gracie Law que cativa qualquer um e muito mais. Dos lutadores ao menor dos figurantes, todos cativam até o máximo que podem.

A história não tem nexo nem uma linha segura pela qual você deve tirar uma base. Ela é apenas uma história porque conta algo, fora isso tudo é ilógico, exagerado e surpreendente. Cada situação me faz rir e divertir. É incrível o poder desse filme de me deixar contente. É só eu olhar pra qualquer cena e já me sinto melhor, acho que vou começar a assisti-lo quando estiver de mau humor. São personagens tão reais e simples que são bonitos e engraçados de serem visto justamente pela auto-identificação que causam ao publico logo de cara. Jack Burton por, só pra citar um, é um caminhoneiro que não sabe lutar e muito menos atirar e não nasceu pra ser herói, e mesmo assim está ali para ajudar seus amigos, o que já é bonito em sua pré-concepção.

Algumas de minhas cenas preferidas dos filmes do Carpenter, e de todo o cinema, acompanham quase quadro. Desde o sequestro até o “é apenas uma questão de reflexos” não paro de pensar o quão genial o filme consegue ser. Cada cena é mais absurda, cada situação pior, cada personagem mais louco que o anterior, cada luta mais exagerada, cada frases mais genial, cada movimento de câmera inventivo e inteligente, cada efeito clássico, cada som eterno, e a trilha de Carpenter aqui forma uma espécie de base de aventura para acompanhar o filme em sua jornada até o fim, uma das trilhas mais geniais de Carpenter.

Jack Burton e seus amigos já estão inseridos no imaginário popular, boa parte disso, pela longa campanha da sessão da tarde e que deixou fãs mais loucos pelo filme do que eu também. E se disserem que o melhor filme de aventura é e sempre será Indiana Jones, não ligue, o que importa é que esse aqui supera Indiana, pelo menos pra mim, e pra você?

“Desperate Housewives” star Dana Delany turned down the role of Carrie on “Sex and the City”

Dana Delany has opened up about turning down the role of Carrie in “Sex and the City.”

The actress and multiple Emmy winner, who first hit it big as Nurse Colleen McMurphy on “China Beach,” is enjoying currently stardom again on “Desperate Housewives.”

But the “Desperate” star also passed on the role of Bree on the hit ABC show before agreeing to play newbie housewife Katherine.

Delany told the L.A. Times: “I’d hate to be thought of as the person who turns everything down,” and says she has an explanation for how she goes about choosing roles.

Turns out that the Irish-American actress was simply trying to avoid type casting.

“[‘Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry] had offered me the role of Bree, but I had just done ‘Pasadena,’ and I thought the role was too similar to that, and I don’t really like to repeat myself,” she said.

“I’ve never ever been in this for the money. I just like to do what challenges me. Thankfully, Marc circled back. That’s unusual in Hollywood. Usually when you say ‘no,’ they hold it against you for the rest of your career. I’ve experienced that.”

The experience Delany alludes to could be her rejection of “Sex and the City,” which she passed on for similar reasons.

“I had done a movie called ‘Live Nude Girls’ with Kim Cattrall that was somewhat similar. It was women sitting around talking about sex,” Delany said.

“[‘Sex and the City’ creator] Darren Star was a friend of mine, and he had joined up withCandace Bushnell and came up with this idea and he asked if I’d be in it. It was very much in the early stages, and I had just done ‘Nude Girls’ and ‘Exit to Eden’ and I just said to Darren, ‘I cannot do a show with “sex’”in the title.’ People will lynch me if I do one more thing about sex.”

Desde que estaba al aire la serie Sex and The City, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kim Cattrall se odian a muerte y seguramente desearían arrancarse los pelos la una a la otra. Pues bien, al parecer a pesar de que han pasado tantos años trabajando juntas, todavía no han logrado llevarse bien. Ahora resulta que en la filmación de la segunda película de SATC, algunos miembros del equipo de producción aseguran que la principal razón de los problemas entre estas dos es porque Sarah Jessica Parker está celosa porque el personaje de Kim en la película es de mayor edad, sin embargo, en realidad Sarah se ve mucho más anciana que su compañera y esto la pone de malas.

Los celos nunca han sido bueno, pero yo creo que la verdadera razón por la que Sarah anda de malas es porque no le dan su alfalfa a sus horas y el hecho de que ya tiene rato sin visitar su establo. Para que ya no se porte tan mal, necesita un jinete que la ponga en cintura.

10. Batman and Robin (1997)

Joel Schumacher should be congratulated. He managed to make Batman more homoerotic than dear Dr. Fredric Wertham: The nippled Batsuit received an upgrade featuring  pre-wedgied, assless-chaps-looking armor. Combine this with Uma Thurman’s idea of acting (remember, she’d just made ‘The Avengers’ that same year, another honorary member of this list) and a ‘Batman on Ice’ segment and you’ve got a lethal cocktail of suckage. Never fear, folks! The Governator is here to turn this movie into campy one-liner glory! Just when you’re reaching for that remote to save your eyes from over-exposure to inexplicable amounts of fuchsia lights, Arnold swoops in – sporting enough chrome to make Jay-Z’s Cadillac jealous – to drop another gleefully awful ice-themed punchline.

Also, why does the freeze gun have a lock and load noise?

8. Lake Placid (1999)

A completely forgettable film having something to do with a rather large Croco-Gator hiding in some idealistic lake, ‘Lake Placid’ is saved from movie hell by Betty White. Yes, the ‘kooky’ Golden Girl is your savior by doing what she does best: play the innocent old lady who’s actually Nucking Futs (“patent pending) crazy. In this instance, Ms. White can be seen feeding cows to our Gator hero while whimsically discussing the weather with the sheriff.

7. Flash Gordon (1980)

IMDb’s Plot Summary: “A football player and his friends travel to the planet Mongo and find themselves fighting the tyrant, Ming the Merciless, to save Earth.” What could POSSIBLY make this film any better? Well, George Lucas wanted to direct this film, but sadly missed the opportunity and had to instead make some silly films featuring singing teddy bears, walking carpets, and trashcans on wheels. Dennis Hopper, YOUR OVERACTING VILLIAN OF THE CENTURY, sadly turned down the chance to play Dr. Zarkov…but all is well, because 80’s rock sensation QUEEN did the soundtrack!

6. Waterworld (1995)

SPEAKING of Dennis Hopper, I present to you Kevin Costner’s global warming disaster flick (as opposed to his equally bad nuclear holocaust film). At it’s time, this was the most expensive film ever made. I can definitely see where all the money went to, such as welding all that expensive trash can metal onto black matte painted jet skis. This movie is THREE HOURS LONG, and yet you can’t turn away from it. Why? Because Kevin Costner drinks his own piss three minutes in, and it’s all downhill from there:

4. Street Fighter (1994)

A movie about a game…BAD…?!?!?! Is this even possible?! What about all those great Uwe Bowe films like ‘House of the Dead’, ‘Bloodrayne’, and ‘In the Name of the King’? And who can forget the Super Mario Brothers…It’s true: Video game based films are notoriously well known for being absolutely eye-gouging, jaw-droppingly bad, and ‘Street Fighter’ is no different. The tragedy that is the film is only further enhanced by the realization that it is Raul Julia’s – the lovable Mr. Addams – final film before he passed away. Though Julia does his best to save this movie, the true hero of our film is Jean Claude Van Damm and his string of flexing monologues scattered throughout.

3. Mannequin (1987)

It’s a movie starring Kim Cattrall as a mannequin that comes to life for the lonely artist that lovingly built her who falls in love with her and saves a department store owned by Estelle Getty by designing hip window displays with his flamboyantly gay best friend. Not crazy enough for you yet? Did I mention that Cattrall is actually an Egyptian princess? Let’s kick it up a notch!

2.Howard the Duck (1986)

God Bless George Lucas for this one. He had HUNDREDS of comic book characters to select from – any of which Marvel, DC, et al would’ve gladly allowed the god of all things Science Fiction to direct – and he chose to slam a bunch of midgets into a oversized rubber duck costume and attempt to save the world. If there was EVER a film that needed a rerelease with enhanced special effects, it’s this one. Please, George, stop destroying the land of the Jedi and bring back this Duck in full CG glory!

1. Starship Troopers (1997)

This is, hands down, the greatest bad movie of all time. Casper Van Dien’s chin deserved an Oscar for carrying Casper Van Dien’s dead weight through this 90 minute romp. Michael Ironside plays Michael Ironside with a gun. Gary Busey’s son is only mildly aggrevating, and hey, any film with NPH automatically is a classic. I have one question for you citizen: Are you doing your part?

Like every other girl on the planet… I can’t wait for the next installment of SATC!!! First off, I’d like 2 say Kudos to the genius behind all the fabulous outfits, Patricia Fields. Everything from the clothes, to the hair, to the makeup takes us on a remarkable fashion journey, a good blend between extremely wild eccentric pieces yet quintessentially relevant.

The first movie was all about the “Studded belt”, who would have thought you could wear them and look cute and stylish. Fascinating how a simple piece can truly transform a look.  And of course the gorgeous wedding dresses. *sigh*

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama on Wednesday signed the first major piece of federal gay rights legislation, a milestone that activists compared to the passage of 1960s civil-rights legislation empowering blacks.

The new law adds acts of violence against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people to the list of federal hate crimes. Gay-rights activists voiced hope that the Obama administration would advance more issues, including legislation to bar workplace discrimination, allow military service and recognize same-sex marriages.

Congress passed the hate crimes protections as an unlikely amendment to this year’s Defense Authorization Act. In a signing ceremony in the White House East Room , Obama said that the gay rights protections represented a “long-awaited change” that would protect people who are victimized because of “who they love . . . or who they are.”

Legislation barring firms from firing employees on the basis of their sexual orientation could win passage in the House of Representativesby year’s end, gay-rights advocates said. More than half of U.S. states currently allow employers such freedom.

Obama has promised to push Congress to repeal the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy that prohibits being openly gay while serving. A Senate panel is expected to hold a hearing on that issue next month, and legislation could be debated next year.

Gay-rights activists also hope for repeal next year of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which would give federal legitimacy to gay marriagesrecorded in states that allow them.

The amendment signed into law Wednesday was named partly for Matthew Shepard , a 21-year-old student at the University of Wyoming who died after a 1998 beating targeting him because he was gay, and whose parents were instrumental in leading the fight for such legislation. The law also was named for James Byrd Jr. , a black Texas man dragged to his death in a racially motivated killing the same year.

The measure also extends protections to those attacked because of their gender or disability.

While the 2008’s “Sex and the City” took about 145 minutes to watch, it has been revealed that its sequel won’t be that long. In a recent interview with MTV, one of theromantic comedy stars, Kristin Davis, gave clues on the runtime of “Sex and the City 2” in addition to some other details.

Asked whether the second movieadaptation of the popular HBO series will be as “big” as the first movie in term of length, the Charlotte York depicter said, “Oh no. This one is not going to be that long. It’s like condensed soup.” When MTV reporter Josh Horowitz questioned if “every minute will be meaty”, she responded, “Yes! And different, and adventure and rich, and like, there’s music involved.”

Daca nu stiati Miley Cyrus filmeaza pentru Sex and the city 2, oare vrea sa demonstreze ca a lasat la o parte partea ei copilaroasa si anume Hannah Montana? Oricum mai nou se intelege extrem de bine cu Kim Cattrall, cea care interpreteaza rolul Samanthei din serial.

In poza le puteti vedea purtand aceeasi vestimentatie, singura diferenta este colierul de la gatul fiecareia. Rochitele sunt destul de scumpe, dar cred ca de asta v-ati prins si voi, sunt create de Matthew Williamson, iar in picioare poarta cizme Bebe.

Amuzanta sau nu poza, putem s-o admiram inca o data pe Cattrall care desi are peste 40 de ani arata la fel de bine ca Miley.

“Sex and the City” star Kim Cattrall and Matthew Macfadyen, who played Mr. Darcy in the 2005 film version of “Pride and Prejudice,” are to star in the West End in a new production of Noel Coward’s 1930 comedy Private Lives.

It will begin performances Feb. 24, 2010, prior to an official opening March 3, for a run that is booking through May 1. Prior to the West End, it will preview at the out-of-town Theatre Royal in Bath, beginning performances Feb. 10 for a run to Feb. 20.

The production will be directed by Richard Eyre, and produced by Duncan C. Weldon, Theatre Royal Bath Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions.

In the play, which was last seen on Broadway in 2002 in the transfer of a West End production that starred Lindsay Duncan and Alan Rickman, Amanda and Elyot have been divorced from each other for five years. Now both are honeymooning with their new spouses in the South of France. When by chance they meet again across adjoining hotel balconies, their insatiable feelings for each other are immediately rekindled. Without a care for scandal, new partners or memories of what drove them apart in the first place, they hurl themselves headlong into love and lust.

The British-born Cattrall has previously appeared in the West End in productions of Whose Life Is It, Anyway? at the Comedy Theatre in 2005 and David Mamet’s The Cryptogram at the Donmar Warehouse in 2006. She is best known for playing Samantha Jones in the HBO TV series “Sex and the City” (for which she won a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and five Emmy nominations) and the subsequent 2008 film version. She is currently filming “Sex and the City 2.” Other film roles include appearances in the forthcoming Roman Polanski political thriller “The Ghost” and “Meeting Monica Valour”, as well as “Porky’s,” “Police Academy,” “Bonfire of the Vanities,” “Star Trek VI,” John Carpenter’s cult classic “Big Trouble in Little China,” “Mannequin” and “The Tiger’s Tail.” She was also seen in the TV movie “My Boy Jack,” opposite Daniel Radcliffe. acfadyen last appeared on stage in The Pain and the Itch at the Royal Court in 2007, and previously played Prince Hal in the National Theatre’s production ofHenry IV in 2005. He is also known for his role as Tom Quinn in the BBC TV series “Spooks,” and is soon to appear as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Russell Crowe’s forthcoming film “Robin Hood.”

Richard Eyre was previously director of the National Theatre from 1988 to 1997. He is currently represented on Broadway by his co-direction of Mary Poppins, and he next directs Bizet’s Carmen at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House, beginning performances Dec. 31. He has won five Olivier Awards, four Evening Standard Awards, three Critics’ Circle Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Directors Guild. His has also directed the films “The Ploughman’s Lunch,” “Iris,” “Stage Beauty” and “Notes on a Scandal.”

Sex and the City 2 shooting heads to Morocco

Sarah Jessica Parker, her six-year-old son James Wilke and the child’s nanny were photographed leaving her Greenwich Village townhouse on Monday afternoon en route to the airport for a flight to Morocco.  While the trip’s main purpose is to continue shooting the Sex and the Citysequel, it may have doubled as a birthday treat for James, who will turn seven on October 28.

Wouldn’t the newly redone La Mamounia – the 18th century palace of Moroccan Prince Moulay Mamoun and a film location for Alfred Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much – provide an excellent venue for his birthday celebration?

Parker’s actor-husband Matthew Broderick, the couple’s twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha (born four months ago with the help of a surrogate) and quite likely another nanny or two have presumably remained at home in New York City.  It appears shooting in “the City” where this entertainment franchise is primarily set wrapped last week with highly publicized scenes in which Penelope Cruz, Liza Minnelli and Mylie Cyrus are reported to make appearances.  Us magazine provides a quick clip of some of the movie’s New York City filming in the video at the end of this article.

According to Life & Style magazine, the Moroccan scenes will be shot in the cities of Erfoud, Rabat and Marrakech.  The film’s style guru, Patricia Field, told People magazine, “[We're shooting] there for about six weeks.  You’ll probably see belly dancers and Bedouins!”  The Moroccan film location was decided upon after Dubai officials denied the production access to shoot there, fearing the resulting movie would be too racy for Middle Eastern standards and would reflect poorly on the country.

Calling all “Sex and the City” fans! You’ve seen their 80’s pics with their long pearls, big tutus, and huge hair leaving you in question, but look no further, we have some details!

According to PEOPLE, “style guru” Patricia Field gives some info on the anticipated “Sex and the city 2.” “It was in the beginning of the movie,” Field explained. “Carrie was waiting to meet her girlfriends and she was thinking about when she first moved to New York in the ’80s and how she met Samantha and Charlotte. They’re all, in real time, meeting to go shopping. And in her flashback time, she is thinking of when she first met each one of them.”

Field also says Miley Cyrus is definitely in the movie.  “Cyrus recently filmed a scene with Kim Cattrall, where the two ostensibly showed up to a movie premiere in matching outfits.”

Also, the cast is broadening out their locations. The first “Sex and the City” movie they were in Mexico and the next film they’ll be shooting some parts in Morocco.

The film will also have guest appearances by Liza Minnelli and Penelope Cruz.

So there you have it!

“Sex and the City 2″ is said to be released in 2010.

Hilary Duff is in the city to film her latest flick “In the Business of Falling in Love” – and falling she is!

The star took a (staged) tumble in the middle of a busy crosswalk Wednesday for the romantic comedy, which has a plot very similar to the “Sex and the City” series, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.

Duff plays a young fashionable magazine columnist who writes about her dating struggles in the city (hello, Carrie Bradshaw).

Though Duff’s character ends up going undercover to snag a rich banker, her flashy handbags, sexy dresses, and sky-high stilettos scream “SATC,” according to the Daily Mail.

But the movie isn’t the only thing keeping the 22-year-old busy.

She recently joined the cast of “Gossip Girl” to play Olivia Burke, a young celebrity looking for a normal educational experience.

“Everyone’s been really, really gracious to me and sweet to me,’” she told People.com. “They called me and said come and do a few episodes. I jumped at the chance.”

 One of my favorite episodes of one of my favorite shows “Sex and the City” is the one where Kim Cattrall’s character Samantha is hooking up with this guy (ok, so that could be any episode). They’re getting all into it. She’s moaning and shaking  having a good old time. Then right at the point when she’s climaxing she has this revelation.

“I’ve fucked you before,” she says surprised.

 She’d met this guy, took him home and had sex with him all without realizing that not only did she know him. She’s already had sex with him before. She had a Deja Screw. Its like you know you’ve been there and it seems really familiar to you, but you can’t really remember when and how.

 For many people the idea of this actually happening seems unlikely, but H-girl for one is a believer. I think this is totally possible. I believe it because its happened to me.

 Not quite the way that it happened to her. I have, though, on more than one occasion  become reacquainted with a person from my past and completely forgot that we had at one time slept together.

 This is a totally plausible circumstance for several reasons: First, despite the fact I’ve never done a drug in my entire life, my memory is total crap. Second, I’ve had sex with and dated so many people over the course of my life sometimes it all runs together. And finally, sex with some people is so bad you just block it out of your memory.

 I had a deja screw moment about a week ago. Through the magical world of Facebook I’ve been in contact with a guy from high school. We talk casually now and then. On this occasion, he starts reliving the good times we had hooking up in high school. The really good times. I had no clue what he was talking about. I had no memory of said good time and even asked if he’d confused me with someone else. He said no and started telling me things about myself that he would have only known if we’d got together.

 It honestly was creepy, but it also was a bit troubling to me. Have I been with that many guys? Has this happened to anyone else? Have you had a deja screw? If so, tell me about it.
